synopsis : you and kai grew up together, trained together, and now you guys were what people called best friends, until one particular training session.

a/n : this is my first x reader and my first time professionally writing a kiss so god bear with me but yeah and its been 2 hours so idek man

Malakai Azer was your best friend. He’s been your best friend since you were 12. Since you were old enough for your dad, the general, to take you to the castle. He’d take you there on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. You loved and cherished every visit. You met the Princes of Ilya on your 4th visit, as the king saw how well you behaved. Well, of course you behaved, the only thing you did at the castle all day was walk around, explore more and more. By now you’ve memorized the entire layout of the castle. All 4 floors, you know how to get out, get in, noticed or unnoticed. But during those visits, you also began to train with the princes. At first, you preferred training with Kitt, since he was older than you, so was Kai, but you always felt like Kitt knew better, fought better. You were so wrong. He was a good fighter, yes, but the thing was, he’d always let you win. It wouldn’t be called training if he kept letting you win, so you tried training with Kai. You assumed he didn’t know much, since he trained with dummies and figures but oh boy were you horribly wrong. He terribly beat you up. Bruises everywhere, leaving your mother to scold you. You’ve barely talked to him before, but he eventually grew warmer, and didn’t absolutely beat you up all the time. Sometimes, you even switched mediums to using swords instead of hand to hand combat.

“Darling, enough, you���re going to ruin my gorgeous face.” Kai teased before sidestepping to avoid your stab of an attack. “Oh it’s not so gorgeous right now Kai,” You smirked before ducking to protect yourself from his blow, immediately taking advantage of his position to get behind him and pressed your dagger to his neck. “Yield?” Your smirk from earlier had returned. You’ve never been this close together before. Yes the both of you trained endlessly, but it never got this close. Well excluding the one time Kai had you pinned against a tree, knife to your throat. Even that wasn’t as close. You were pretty sure that he could feel your chest heaving. “Not so easily darling,” He smiled before making use of the fact that you were breathless, and the grip on your dagger was sloppy, since you were in fact, breathless. He flipped you over, your back landing harshly on the ground. Oh yeah, something’s definitely wrong in your skeletal system now. You audibly groaned, your face scrunched up in pain. Your dagger did do its job, though, it lightly tore Kai’s skin, resulting in a harsh hiss leaving his kissable lips. He wiped off some of the blood before you got up. Kai held his dagger, backing you up to a tree. Your back hit the tree, you winced because you were really done with this shit. “Kai I can’t-” You finally spoke up, but because of that, he strode to you in one long step, weapon hitting your throat. “Yield then, darling.” He leaned in to whisper in your ear. You could feel his smirk through your skin, but at the same time something tingled in your stomach, you were sure that your face was flush red now. You tried looking down to hide it only for Kai to tilt your head back up with his dagger. “Don’t hide away now, darling.” He still had that stupid smirk on his handsome face. His hand, equipped with the dagger, fell to his side. The tip of his dagger met your hand, trying to convince you to drop the weapon, and you did, because by his body language, you could tell that the atmosphere had changed. “Kai-” You whispered. He dropped his own weapon with a soft thud, or a clatter, you couldn’t even tell at this point, your mind hazy at him, the smell of his cologne, his body being this close to you. He leaned closer, tucking a piece of loose hair behind your ear. All this training likely made your braid loose. “May I?” He asked, his eyes darkening. You could feel your knees weaken and your face getting hotter. You gave him a subtle nod and with that, it felt like you just entered the gateways of heaven, literally. His hands were on you, they were everywhere, one on your neck, the other pinning your hips to the tree. His lips were soft, so soft- delicate- gentle, tender- but also hungry, impatient- You ran out of words to describe it, but it sure as hell was the best thing you’ve experienced. Kai pulled away, “Plagues, darling, you really are something-” He gasped before kissing you again. You were breathless at this point, but even so, you couldn’t bring yourself to pull away. Kai did, eventually, “So, darling, what do you say? Yield?” He smirked, his tone laced with husk.

Speaking of sounds and lack of them...

On June 24, Jonathan gets circled by moondust vampires. He runs and screams away from them.

And later that night... The child's mother gets circled by wolves. She stands still and silent.

June 24 is all cacophony and grave silence.

It is. And it's so powerful. There's such extremes on both end, and both are a shock to the system, with devastating emotional intensity.

It could translate so well to a film adaptation too. Jonathan has been so much quieter throughout all the horrors up till this point, so his scream at the top of his lungs would be so intense. And then later on, the mother's yelling cutting off, and the howling growing louder then stopping... I absolutely love the use of silence when done sparingly/for effect. You could do something really cool with the score cutting off throughout this entry. The delicate mesmerizing music going along with the moondust vampires being harshly interrupted by the dogs and then fading as Jonathan fights free/stopped entirely when he yells and runs. Music building and then just stopping without a crescendo as Jonathan listens to the horrible silence as the child is being killed. The music being completely absent throughout the mother's death scene (which we don't see, just Jonathan's face as he listens), and then a long pause afterward as the wolves leave, licking their lips...

MoonDust is a triple-changer forged in Kaon as a Lykaon(Wolf of Kaon). They were taken to the head of the Gladiator Pits, their brother, GoldenFang. GoldenFang and another elderly Lykaon found a loophole in the forging of "wolves". Normally a new wolf would be forged only if the spark of the previous wolf was close to dimish, but GoldenFang kept his predecessor alive and tossed the "new" wolves into the pits for entertainment. MoonDust was one of those protoforms, upon meeting the first thing GoldenFang did was to rip their ears off to make Moondust look more "menacing". As a gladiator, Moondust was constantly beaten by GoldenFang and forced to fight until the point of collapse. One day two more beast triple-changers arrived at the pits, Earthquake and Meathook… The two were horrified by the state of Moondust and urged them to resist Goldenfang. After a stellar cycle, Moondust summed up the courage to kill GoldenFang after a fight in the pits. They lured him to the pits and attacked him from behind, and Moondust ripped his head apart from his body in front of the audience and became the one and only Wolf of Kaon, taking over the pits and security of the city of Kaon. A few stellar cycles into their rule D-16 arrived at the pits and after everything they went through MoonDust chose to follow him without any second thoughts. MoonDust joined the Decepticon cause along with Meathook and Earthquake ranking under Soundwave. The trio became warlords with each given a city to destroy. MoonDust was given Teasarus and it is suspected that they were the one who killed Elita-One however they never confessed it…

After arriving on Earth things started to fall apart for the trio. Megatron's descent into insanity became more and more apparent. They became the power-hungry bots they swore to destroy and this drove MoonDust into madness. During the Battle of the Green Steppe (Mongolia), MoonDust attacked Megatron and during the struggle, Optimus shot them in the head. Thinking MoonDust was dead Meathook fled, hovewer Optimus had missed the fatal area and MoonDust was alive but heavily processor damaged. They hid in some cave systems they found nearby and stayed hidden for thousands of years.

MoonDust was found by a lone nomad, and they were impressed by this curious, yet fearless, tiny soft thing wanting to help. Turns out this human (known as Hyena)already knew what a transformer was as they were friends with another Decepticon, Peacemaker. The duo repaired Moondust as best as they could. MoonDust traveled with Hyena becoming their new ride, they even went on mercenary missions together. After coming to Turkiye for rest Moondust got reunited with Earthquake and Meathook and met BlueStrike and Cherry-Bomb who were being hidden by Hyena's family. While the team resided at the family farm MonDust chose to live in a nearby cave system. After the farm was sold, the team moved to an abandoned Air Force base, Moondust still resides at the caves but visits the base occasionally. They mainly travel with Hyena. Every now and then they get assigned hits and smuggling missions from BlueStrike.

Trivia

MoonDust is the most "messed up" one on the team, physically, mentally, and morally vise.

They turned GoldenFang's body into a cape and are still wearing it.

They collect heads as trophies...

Them and Blue have beef for some reason ( nobody knows why)

Luna is a nature spirit - the embodiment of a moonbeam - and has a faint yellow glow around her. She provides emotional comfort to the other members of her system, as well as psychological advice. She is nostalgic for the happy events of the system's childhood, and she also enjoys aesthetics that are nostalgic to both that time and from times before the system were born. Luna can rub her hands together to create silver moondust that she can sprinkle or blow onto other headmates. The moondust causes them to fall asleep in-space. Luna sometimes uses this to protect headmates, e.g. to help them effectively leave stressful situations.

Let's talk science. Here are my top 10 reasons why I reject the Nation of Islam's belief that the Moon was made 66 trillion years by an evil Black Scientist, who dug near the center of the Earth, filling it with dynamite and separating the Earth from the Moon.

1. Due the extreme temperature and pressure, it's virtually impossible to dig anywhere near the Earth's core. We barely had the technology to drill 7.5 miles below the Earth's surface before the drills overheated and broke. For the NOI Moon deportation belief to be true, without any empirical evidence, we would have to ASSUME that the technology existed.

2. Radiometric dating of the Earth, Moon, Mars, meteorites, in fact most of the material in Solar System, dates back to roughly 4.5 billion years ago. This is one reason scientists think our Solar System formed from the same collapsed cloud of gas and dust about 4.6 billion years ago. For the NOI Moon deportation belief to be true, without any empirical evidence, we would have to ASSUME the Solar System is far older ("trillions of years ") than the data show.

3. Archaeological and genetic evidence suggests the age of anatomically modern Homo sapiens is about 200,000 to 300,000 years old. For the NOI Moon deportation belief to be true, without any genetic or fossil evidence, we would have to ASSUME that humans have existed for trillions of years.

4. The object that impacted the Earth 66 million years ago, partly responsible for the extinction of the dinosaurs, released more kinetic energy than almost any other event in Earth's history. The Chicxulub meteor imoact released 100 Teratons of TNT. But it was not sufficient to overcome the gravitational binding energy between the Earth and the Moon.

In contrast, the energy released by the Mars-size bollide ("Theia") that separated Luna from Earth was equivalent to 8,000 Teratons. This means it was about 80 times more energetic. 1 Teraton is equal to the energy released when detonating 1 trillion tons of TNT. So, 8,000 Teratons would be the energy equivalent of 8,000 trillion tons of TNT. That's the weight of about 50,000 Mt. Everests.

For the NOI Moon deportation belief to be true, without any empirical evidence, we would have to ASSUME someone had the expertise, equipment, materials, manpower and facilities to transport and store this amount of TNT. Even then, it would take several decades (or longer) to produce.

5. Gunpowder is a mixture of potassium nitrate, charcoal and sulfur. Dynamite is primarily nitroglycerin and some sort of absorbent material (like clayshells, or sawdust). Moondust, on the other hand, is composed of silicon dioxide glass, plus iron, magnesium, calcium and other trace materials. No lunar rocks or soil samples taken from the Moon contained any trace of explosives, gunpowder, or any artificial, man-made substances whatsoever. For the NOI Moon deportation belief to be true, without any empirical evidence, we would have to ASSUME either a.) traces of gunpowder does exist in the Luna rock and soil, we just haven't detected it yet or b.) scientists have discovered but there is a global conspiracy to conceal it.

6. The impact craters from comets and asteroids bombarding the lunar surface have a frequency and distribution that's consistent with a 4.5 billion year model of the Solar System, not a 66 trillion one.

7. Tidal forces, from the gravitational interactions between Earth and Moon, are causing the Moon to recede from the Earth at a rate of roughly 1.5 inches per year. This is approximately the rate our fingernails grow.

Over the course of trillions of years, the gravitational forces would have weakened significantly as the distance between the Earth and the Moon increased far beyond what it currently is today. Eventually, this weakening of gravitational forces would have lead to a gradual reduction in the rate of tidal transfer of angular momentum. However, the geological records (preserved in ancient tidal rhythmites in sedimentary rocks formations) do not reflect trillions of years. We also put retroreflectors on the Moon during the Apollo missions, so we can use laser ranging to measure the distance from Earth to Moon with precision and the measurements are consistent with a theoretical model of the Moon being 4.5 billion years, not 66 trillion years.

8. Our Sun is a yellow dwarf. A G-type main-sequence star and is about 4.6 billion years old. It's age was measured by radiometric dating of meteorites, isotopic information, and from observing the life cycle of other stars in the Universe. Based on our understanding of stellar evolution, the Sun will exhaust its hydrogen fuel in about 5 billion years and become a red giant star.

If the Sun were "trillions" of years old, it would have already exhausted its hydrogen fuel, travelled through all of the stages of stellar evolution, from yellow dwarf to red giant to planetary nebula to white dwarf and, finally, a cold, dark object called a Black dwarf.

9. If the Earth were "trillions" of years old, then we would see evidence of that in the fossil record, archeology, geology, climate, ocean sediments, genetic, paleontology, etc. We don't. Everything we discover is consistent with a 4.5 billion year old planet.

The Luminous Spirit by Labyrinthos

My first deck that was gifted to me by some friends. Is quite blunt, so I try to be picky about who I use this for, since it doesn't hold back. If I had to relate it to a character, it's exactly like Edna Mode from The Incredibles. Gives you information you need to hear, not what you want -- what you usually think of when you hear people talking about tarot decks or tarot readings. If you're not sensitive, this deck can be quite funny and honestly it's super loving, it's just kinda....Earthy (virgo/capricorn blunt like)

Tarot of the Divine by Yoshi Yoshitani

Sensitive and dreamy deck. Shies away from the honest truth if I'm being honest. Cards hold traditional meaning, but likes to speak through the fairytales therefore giving more depth to the meanings or straight up changes it. Absolutely loves romantic readings, doesn't care for much else but will still entertain them. Doesn't like low energy anything, will always root for your success.

The Modern Witch Tarot by Lisa Sterle

Unless you have your entire life in check, don't request this. Gossiper and will spill unrelated secrets, need to work with her on that lol. Great for yearly reveals though! Has no ill intent, but will showcase whatever needs attention or is the most prominent energy. Imagine someone reading on you but with like ten Rider-Waite decks.

The Traditional Manga Tarot by Shou Xueting and Riccardo Minetti

Very bright but also relaxed? Just wants you to be happy and cheering you on from the sidelines. Doesn't care for love, but likes reading for career or your strengths. Likes thinking positively and will read for shadow related topics but doesn't like to sit in it for too long. One of my very few neutral/flexible decks

Orien's Animal Tarot by Ambi Sun

My other neutral and relaxed deck. Let's you take the reigns but will put it's foot down when it doesn't like something. Refuses to hand out cards for subjects it doesn't like in regards to the person. So if they shouldn't know, it doesn't necessarily matter, they want to talk about something else, etc. It's a quiet but forceful energy.

Mystic Mondays by Grace Duong

Transform! Grow! Change! It wants the best for you. It's rooting for you, but it knows you can't stay where you are. Another blunt deck, but in a lighter way. Will gently insult you while complimenting you. It's always cheering you on and giving you a pat on the back.

Luna Somnia by ShoresOfMoon

Fire sign in the form of a deck. Very loud and excited. Wants to celebrate all of your achievements and make sure you know you're loved. Gives out compliments easily, but doesn't like repeat questions. You have a two strike system. Although the imagery is repetitive, noticed that everyone tends to resonate or pick up on something with the cards they get. (I have tried to explain that a lot of the cards have the same thing but they are very adamant about it and it's happened far too many times so it must be something)

Moondust Tarot by Terra Soleil

Doesn't like to be bothered much lol. Usually likes to be read for important or intense situations despite being a joyous deck? It's difficult to explain but it can get bored of energy checks or near future -- things like that. Enjoys much more complicated situations where I have like three piles going on or having to piece a bunch of stuff together? Not what I was expecting when it gave off the same energy as Luna Somnia & Mystic Mondays.

The Rider-Waite by Arthur Edward Waite / Pamela Colman Smith

Objective and dare I say emotionless. Will just give you what is happening in a situation, if I need the parties involved I have to break out another deck. Perfect for giving you an outside breakdown of what's goin on, not so great for feelings or emotions? They will tell you how they're doing, but it's not empathetic -- that's usually me putting in the work lol. (Ex; you see someone crying at a table and you know that they dropped a meal they just bought, but you don't know that they've been internalizing stress for the past four days and that was their breaking point),

The Horror Tarot by By Aria Gmitter and Minerva Siegel

Overdramatic. That's it lol. Loves doing shadow work, looking at flaws, the underbelly of the world -- but will exaggerate things a bit. Or a lot. Somewhat childish, and is aware of that.

Tarot Familiars by Lisa Parker

Encourages change. New chapters in life and wants you to take that next jump. It's very quiet and peaceful, not very loud. It's messages are a little difficult to decipher when you first hear them, but they make sense later and you have to come back to them in time. It chooses when to talk in rhymes or when to be direct. However it's always talking about being a better version of yourself, or the you that you need to be in this lifetime.

After Tarot by By Corrine Kenner, Pietro Alligo, Giula Francesca Massaglia

A little goofy and playful. Wants you to enjoy your life, but not throw it away with foolish choices. Be smart, but not have a stick up your ass. Just like how it looks, basically the Rider-Waite but with a bit more personality. It struggles to read the situation objectively cause it wants to have a bit more fun. Can give some specific insight to situations so if I'm called to it, it's for a reason. (Page of Pentacles is presenting or coming up with a business idea, but with this deck, someone else would be working with them or giving them said idea).

Book of Shadows Vol. 2 by Barbara Moore

This has become my personal deck, so I'm trying to see if I want to get a duplicate lmao. All about exploring new opportunities and being my best self. Doesn't like to be bored or be too serious. Wants the best out of life. Always excited. Honestly feels like it gets upset when I'm upset or being too serious/thinking too hard about stuff lol. Very light-hearted and sweet deck, so I want to be able to read for others with it.

Trickster's Journey by Jia Sung

This deck is...highly spiritual? It feels weird to say that. Essentially it stresses the importance of moving away from material/wordly things or ideas and to focus on emotional or spiritual happiness. Which, considering the art and theme of the deck, makes sense.

Romantic Tarot by Lo Scarabeo

LOVES love, not surprising. Doesn't like being serious and basically told me to get that stick out of my ass and fall in love with life. A very sweet and energetic, goofy deck.

Angel Tarot by Travis McHenry

Still don't know why I got this deck. I just really wanted it one day and every time I use it, I vaguely remember what I did, which I really hate!

White Numen Tarot by Alba BG

So comforting. Wants me to slow down and get in touch with myself whenever I use it. Does not let me go fast and, much to it's theme, is very grounded lmao. Really enjoy working with this deck.

Dreaming Way Tarot by Rome Choi

I've always wanted to get this deck due to someone I watched previously using it, but it's just so nice to use? It has an interesting personality and wants to be used in a certain way that I've gotten used to but it's very calm and grounded like the deck before it.

Manga Tarot by Riccardo Minetti

Love this deck, it's so sweet! The deck itself utilizes seasons throughout the deck (it's not pentacles = fall, it changes) which I find really nice for my mecurial self. I like the art and how the pip cards are expressed, especially the court cards.

Halloween Tarot by Kipling West & Karin Lee

I still don't know why I got this :) I was out with my friend for their first deck and it kept getting my attention :)))) but this deck is SO CUTE!!!! I didn't expect it's preferred topics considering it's a 'spooky' deck, but it loves lighthearted topics which I find hilarious. The only negative is that the art doesn't correspond with the cards sometimes? Most of them make sense when you read the guidebook, but the only one I can't get over is the four of pentacles. Doesn't make sense.

The Sacred Web by Jannie Bui Brown

I also don't know why this called out to me either. I knew I needed a deck but I wasn't expecting this one lmao. It's a little intimidating but it also draws me in. It makes me think and it forces me to slow my mind down to process stuff. I wouldn't call it grounding but like...quieting outside noise? Something like that. Interesting deck.

Teeny Tiny Tarot by Holly Oddly

My first mini deck! This was gifted to me, and my only thing is that I have such a thing with the suits being switched up majorly and then having no guide attached to it. Besides that it's really cute, and it's attitude is quite loud for a tiny deck lmao.

The Fablemakers Animated Tarot by Misty Bourne | **Trial Period

A gift for christmas and I almost fucking screamed let's be real. These cards are gorgeous and this is the first deck where an entire suit is my favorite because of how well they were all shown. I am still so nervous to use them which is a very big downside so I'm trying to figure out how to get around that due to them not being compatible with how I shuffle, thus the trial period.

My favorite astrology oracle deck so far. I know people have other favorites but they...pale in comparison tbh lol. I always use this for nearly every reading, and it's like my personal little companion. Has never failed me. Has signs, planets, houses, and asteroids.

Woodland Wardens by Jessica Roux

Super cute deck. Love that some of the cards mirror tarot as well. This can kind of be used for personality readings, but you have to get creative with them. I use this on and off for check ins.

Claves Astrologicae by Labyrinthos

Gifted to me by an old co-worker. I've started to use this for more personal readings as a back-up, or when I'm on the go. I don't use this as much but I'm a cancer so I can't get rid of it, and the art is really nice so it stays for now.

Seed & Sickle by Fez Inkwright

This was such an annoying deck to get used to LMAO but I use it more comfortably now. You can read them just like tarot, upright or reversed (dawn or dusk), so there's double the amount of cards to remember. It took me a bit of time to get used to it since there's no correlation or base to start with, but now I use it pretty regularly like the wardens. I actually use them together.

The Abandoned Oracle by DeviantMoon

Perfect companion with The Horror Tarot. Much more objective and straight-forward, but the art is able to be less pretty while not being gruesome. Love to use this for shadow work or figuring out what lies underneath.

Astrological Oracle by Lunaea Weatherstone, Antonella Castelli

Yes…another astrology deck. This one seems to be great at picking up actual placements or chart energy most of the time instead of what people exude. I love the art and it’s pretty particular and picky with what cards it wants to give so it can take a minute, like it’s pondering over what to get in a shop

The Language of Flowers by Cheralyn Darcey

Feels weirdly very...stern? Not in a mean or intimidating way but feels serious. I usually joke around or play with my decks and I felt a little uncomfortable doing that with this one. Feels very earthy? Time will tell if it'll let me joke with it once we get used to each other :)

Imagine a Natasha Bedingfield or Ellie Goulding song. There you go. Very sensitive, and I couldn't be sarcastic with it as it immediately told me to be kind. Honestly feels like a big hug and really wants me to, explore the depths of the ocean (get it)

Cute, calm, and simple. Also really easy to shuffle?? There's just a ton of cards to remember and I tend to get confused, but very easy to resonate with, but I worry that maybe it loses personality due to that? It's very cute though, like a wallflower.

The Psychic Tarot Oracle by John Holland

Not much to say here. I enjoy using this as a replacement for tarot sometimes as it opens up alternative routes or it goes more in depth.

Energy Oracle Cards by Sandra Anne Taylor

Love these cards!! Finally was able to get them and they're so beautiful while also opening up the message -- as oracle cards should do (Example, two readings I had messages of 'The Chariot' coming out through all my cards including this deck, and then it happened in another reading with the empress)

Got this tiny deck gifted to me as well due to getting messages through my dreams and my friend was aware of that haha.

SO!!! PRETTY I love this deck. I love how raw it is both in imagery and explanation and I love using it. That's it.

Love this deck too. I use it as archetypes a bit more than for advice as it comes out stronger for that than letting people know that they need to embody a certain character trait.

THE GOBLIN CLANS -

In the golden-grass plains of Ravaryn, live great nomadic goblin clans, organized in tribes that have a strong hierarchical system based on combat prowess and what conquests an individual has. Though their lifestyle is majorly based on wayfinding and travel, they do have some settled cities that serve as outposts for traveling hordes and that are known for being the center of trade in the eastern half of their continent - for example, their capital, the city of Mosrak near the Ravarian Desert, is home to the biggest and most powerful goblin leaders and clans, as well as Ravaryn's greatest marketplace (of both good and evil items).

Goblin society is vastly matriarchal, and their leaders are chosen through trials that test their merit as warriors and strategists. A goblin's coming-of-age ceremony usually involves heading out into the world to conquer something new, as goblins strive to be the best at anything they do (something inherited from their fae heritage, since they are, in Ravaryn, a subspecies of faery). A goblin's greatest honor is to undergo the ceremony that declares them the strongest or smartest member of their clan and become the right-hand warrior to their tribe's leader.

Goblins are among the richest and most influential species of Ravaryn, only second to the Elves of the city-state of Allanar. Though their trade network ranges far and wide within Ravaryn Goblins are not known for any seafaring exploits and since they worship the Goddess of Desert and Travels, they consider the sea (and therefore its god) as something lesser.
