I fear that, amongst all the things we’d lose if Trump gets in, we’d lose NASA.
Because Musk. Because Trump has no sense of wonder. Because if it can’t make him money, he thinks it’s worthless.
I grew up in the Apollo era. They made it to the moon using slide-rules. I am in awe what humanity can achieve by working together. I want that for our future.
We can’t lose this election.

Moon tonight 29Nov2023 Wednesday "The full moon whispers secrets to the night, casting its mystical light upon the world's wonders, reminding us that even in darkness, there is always a radiant source of guidance and enchantment."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Under the luminous gaze of the full moon, we are reminded that even in darkness, there is beauty and guidance. Like the moon itself, may we shine brightly and gracefully upon the world, illuminating our path with love, hope, and endless possibilities."
"Bathing in the moon's ethereal glow, we are reminded that every phase of life has its own unique beauty and that even our darkest moments can be illuminated by the brilliance of hope."

to everyone having a hard time
When I look at this life I see too many fingers of too many triggers I wanna be better than that I don’t understand how this anger grows thicker and thicker
Yes, we can do this better Yes, we can do this together Yes, we can take fingers away from triggers Yes, we can be the change Yes, we can breathe the grace Yes, we can ask instead of telling untruth
I’m standing at my door afraid to let you in Cause I don’t know what to say You have a beautiful life I’ve been cursed inside with the sadness of being right
Yes, we can do this better Yes, we can do this together Yes, we can take fingers away from triggers Yes, we can be the change Yes, we can breathe the grace Yes, we can ask instead of telling untruth
We are those who get up off their knees when they fall We seek answers, we cry for the cold
Yes, yes, yes We can take fingers away from triggers Yes, we can be the change Yes, we can breathe the grace Yes, we can ask instead of telling untruth Yes, we can do this better Yes, we can do this together Yes, we can take fingers away from triggers
Yes, yes, yes -Yes, by Moon Shot

Was re-reading Moon Shot today and an anecdote from the first chapter caught my eye:
The satellite not only marked the emergence of the Soviet Union as a technologically accomplished society, but it demonstrated for the first time that the Russian military had the rocket power to deliver nuclear weapons across continents and oceans. American skies had been violated. During World War II no Nazi or Japanese aircraft had penetrated U.S. airspace. But here was Sputnik, made in Russia, passing overhead several times a day.
'Cause, like, no?????? Pearl Harbor???????? Is in Hawaii??? Which was (at the time) a U.S. territory?????????? Very famously the U.S. entered WWII because its airspace was violated??????
And even if you, for some reason, decide to interpret "U.S. airspace" as actually meaning "Over the contiguous 48 states and Washington D.C.", it still isn't true? The (admittedly pretty unsuccessful), Fu-Go balloon bombs were floated across the Pacific via the jet stream and killed six people in Oregon -- I've been to the memorial! This book postdates the Soviet VeGa balloons becoming the first extraterrestrial aircraft, you'd think they would remember that unmanned lighter-than-air vehicles are still, y'know, aircraft.
The book's not terrible, but yeesh man maybe tone down the "Whooo!!!!!! America!!!!!!!!!! Everyone else drools but America rules!!!!!!!!! Sputnik was scary but then we kicked their commie asses!!!!!!!!!! Everyone in the space program was hero!!!!!!! Even the Nazis!!!!!!! Especially the Nazis!!!!!!!!!!!" and actually put some accurate information in your damn nonfiction book.
And tighten up the editing. Good golly do those sentences flow like a high school book report.
