While living in Canada, she had expectations that she would never see Cole’s friends unannounced. However, when one of his friends was Trevor Zegras, she should’ve known to expect the unexpected.
It had been a long day in general, her boss gave her more paperwork to do, she spilled coffee on herself, and on top of it all, she and her boyfriend had been fighting and this had been the last straw for him. He broke up with her in the middle of the day, through text, when he knew she was still working, leaving no time for her to argue with him, to say anything to save them.
That’s how she ended up where she was now, her jacket wrapped tightly around her as she slowly trudged through the wet and cold of Montreal. Sludge was everywhere causing water to seep into her brand-new shoes and her socks, leaving her feet freezing.
The hallway to their apartment felt longer than it usually was. It felt like it took her ten minutes instead of just one to walk down it. Reaching into her back pocket to grab her keys she realized that they weren’t there. Fucking flying fantastic.
She raised her hand and knocked on the door, in hindsight, she didn’t know why. Cole was wherever he was, his location the last thing on her mind, so the apartment was empty. The knock came out as low as her energy level was. And, to her surprise, a minute later someone opened the door, and it wasn’t her brother.
Trevor stood there, his hair slightly messy and face a little flush from whatever he had been doing (testing the durability of the siblings’ couch by jumping up and down on it). His lips were turned upwards into a grin but they quickly flipped down when he realized she was shaking and her mascara was painted down her cheeks.
He ran a hand threw his hair before she spoke, “Trevor? W-what are you doing here?”
Usually, she was good at remembering things people told her but it seemed like those skulls were lacking as of recently. With Cole playing for Team USA she had the apartment to herself, to do things as she pleased. But, the text that Cole had sent her a few days ago slipped her mind, the text that explained to her that Trevor was visiting and needed a place to stay.
Trevor said nothing in reply to her question, pulling her into his arms. His right hand wrapped around her waist and his left arm came up to her head, his hand holding it tightly to his chest. And that was all it took for her to break down, tears staining his off-white hoodie.
He turned around and kicked the door closed with his foot before lifting her up to carry her to her bedroom. She wrapped her legs around his waist, a habit she had fallen into over the last five years. He tried shushing her, her sobs breaking his heart but his efforts were in vain. She kept crying, but now her head was resting on his shoulder. As Trevor sat her down on the bed, he kneeled before her, brushing the hair out of her face. He desperately wiped at the tears that continued to fall down her cheeks.
When she stopped briefly, Trevor took her face into his hands, “What happened? Did someone do something to you?”
She had never heard his voice that stern before, and if she was honest, she couldn’t decide whether she should be scared of it or attracted to it. She only blinked at him in response and he sighed. His thumb rubbed under her eye, mascara now covering his finger. He pouted a little before kissing her cheek, “Please tell me what happened sweetheart.”
Trevor was always one for nicknames. He always called her honey, or baby, or sweetheart, or princess. But they never meant anything, not to her. It was harmless teasing, however, for whatever reason, this felt different. This one felt more real, like he was saying it to her, for, her. It felt different because all of those other times he said it, he called her a stupid little nickname, they were laughing, having fun, being idiots. And now she was here being vulnerable in front of him, crying, no bawling in front of him, breaking down as he cupped her face.
Her breath hitched at the nickname, now that she had returned to crying Trevor didn't know if it was because of that or because of the nickname.
After a while, her cries finally stopped. She stared at him straight in the eye before looking back down. She didn’t answer, she didn’t know how to answer. Everything had been so much that she didn’t know what happened today or what had happened yesterday.
Trevor urged her once more, his tone still stern but a little softer now and he allowed the desperation to be heard. He removed one of her hands from her cheek to hold both of hers, resting them in her lap, “Please y/n.”
“Everything.”
“What do you mean, princess?”
“He broke up with me. My boss hates me. I have a shit ton of paperwork. I spilled coffee on my favorite jacket. I ruined my new shoes. I forgot to text Cole good luck.”
Despite her listing a multitude of reasons for her to be crying, Trevor was still on the first one. His mind was still trying to figure out how Chris had broken up with her. She was everyone’s dream girl, okay maybe she was just his dream girl, but still. She was beautiful, she was kind, she was smart, she was adorable, she was everything anyone could ever want.
Trevour thought he could cry right there when she pulled away from him to scoot back so her back was flush with the headboard. She curled into herself and Trevor frowned at the action. Standing up, he walked over to the side of the bed so he could sit in front of her.
She reached out to hold his hand, giving it a slight tug and Trevor immediately knew what she wanted. So once again, he moved, now sitting next to her while she lay on top of him. In any other situation, she would’ve been embarrassed, if she had been making fun of him and he pulled her onto his lap, her cheeks would’ve heated up instantly.
Yet all she wanted, all she needed was comfort. Her mind was completely focused on something different, multiple things. Being cuddled up with Trevor was the furthest worry in her mind. He rubbed her back up and down as she wrapped her arms around his torso, feeling content for once today.
“I’m sorry.”
“For what?”
“For staining your hoodie.”
He kissed her head, “It’s okay. I needed a new one anyway.”
“What are you doing here?”
“Cole didn’t text you?”
“He probably did but I don’t remember.”
“Well, I came to visit my favorite girl.”
She lifted her head in confusion, “Who?”
He only rolled his eyes before kissing her forehead again, “You, you dork.”
“Why would you want to see me?”
He sighed before lifting her off his lap so she was sitting in front of him. He grabbed ahold of her hands, one in each of his, before locking eyes with her, “I know this isn’t the best time to tell you, y/n/n but I really like you.”
“You, Trevor Zegras, like me, y/n Caufield?”
“Of course I do. Why wouldn’t I?”
“Because I'm me.” She shrugged, not really having an answer for him.
He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, “That’s exactly why I like you. Because you’re you and nobody else compares.”
“Trev…”
“I know, I know. You and Chris just broke up and you’ve had a long day. God, I’m such an idiot, I shouldn’t-”
He was interrupted when she placed her lips on his. It took a moment for him to register but once he did, he melted into the kiss, bringing a hand up to rest around her neck, his thumb brushing a piece of hair out of her face. His other hand wrapped around her waist and pulled her back onto his lap. Her legs wrapped around his waist before pulling away, resting her forehead on his.
“I like you too.” He smiled and kissed her gently once more.

hiii so i decided to put together my research skill and love for fashion to look up some of the sunglasses gerard's been wearing this leg of tour since i've seen some people wondering about them and personally i just really like some of these. so, this is what I've found so far
Black SL 421 | Saint Laurent / they've been wearing these all tour basically, seen before in the NA shows (Montreal, St Paul, Oakland, and most recently in Brisbane) - they're sold out rn but they usually retail around $350 - $400
YY5010 | Yohji Yamamoto / (worn in Aotearoa and never seen again 😔) These are kinda hard to miss, the particular design of the bridge is a staple of the brand, another thing is that they're pretty hard to get a hold of? they're not on the official website as far as i could tell, but they're listed in sites like grailed, the model in the link varies a little but they're the same basically
Lemtosh Sun (Flesh) | Moscot / these were the hardest to ID, pretty much bc there are like a million models that look like this, i am certain these are the ones he's wearing, what gives them away are the rivets (tiny screws) and that curve on the inside of the bridge, he really seems to favour these lately lol but he also wore them a few times in the states iirc
Tristan | Jacques Marie Mage / i wasn't too sure about these ones at first since they look like generic wayfarers at first glance but they do have that curve on the top and the rivets match pretty well, this are the most expensive on the list so far, and they come from a relatively young brand from LA that manufactures some models in Japan < so hence the price im guessing
GG1119S 001 | Gucci / these are a complete shot in the dark tbh since they're a pretty generic model, you could look up any brand and find their own version of these but Gucci's model is the closest one i could find so far, not a 100% match, if you look at the model G's wearing the bridge has a more pronounced curve and as i looked through other pics the temples don't match either and they seem to be way rounder?
#gerard way#gerard's sunglasses#mcr oceania#mcr auckland#mcr melbourne#mcr brisbane#mcr sydney#fashun#my faves are the yohjis the bridge is cute#and the moscot's colurs are so cool too#there’s others that he wore during the NA leg that i didn’t include here yet#I might make another post or add them to this one later

Weird Olympic Moments Tournament
To celebrate (?) the Paris 2024 Olympic Games starting in a few weeks, I thought I'd run another Olympic-themed poll tournament. This time, we're diving into history and getting to know some of the stranger, lesser-known stories of the Games.
Polls will run for a week, and the tournament should last until around early September if I'm doing my math right. The first polls will begin Monday, July 15th.
At the end, we'll award a gold, silver, and bronze to the top three.
After many hours on Wikipedia and the IOC website, here's the list of moments I came up with:
Horse vaulting
Pigeon racing
Sarajevo venues damaged in war
Mayor of Montreal says "The Olympics can no more lose money than a man can have a baby," then proceeds to host one of the most financially disastrous Games in history
George Eyser wins six medals after being run over by a train
Solo synchronized swimming
Crowd gets pooped on by 25,000 pigeons
Flame is taken to top of Mount Everest
Margaret Abbot dies without knowing she made history as the first US woman to win gold
Brazilian team has to sell coffee to afford the trip to Los Angeles
A teenager's "dumb idea" becomes Olympic tradition (athletes marching together in closing ceremony)
St. Louis experiments with "purposeful dehydration", denies water to marathon runners
Kanakuri Shizō takes 54 years to finish his race
Mt. Vesuvius moves the Olympics to London
They stop doing the Olympic salute for some reason
IOC President compares a terrorist attack to a vote to ban a racist country
The Olympics goes 88 years without letting women run marathons
Olympic flame transmitted via satellite
Northern Rhodesia declares independence during Olympics, changes name to Zambia
Vancouver 2010 cauldron malfunction
Montreal 1976 stadium is finally paid off in 2006
The curse of the Beijing 2008 mascots
Everest climbers get gold medals
Sochi snowflake malfunction
They hold the Olympics in 1906, then later say it doesn't count
Colorado kicks the Olympics out
Flame hidden from view after anti-gay law
Summer Olympics held during Winter
Haiti and Liechtenstein discover they had the same flag
Riot at the 1924 rugby match
McDonald's gives out more Big Macs than they expected
Chamonix 1924 retroactively named the Winter Olympics
Doves burned during cauldron lighting
Torchbearer takes olympic flame down a ski jump
Medals made of e-waste
Shooter aims for wrong target, loses gold
Olympic torch passed on International Space Station
Alien addresses crowd
Figure skating debuts at Summer Olympics
Olympics held on two different continents
Rio organizers lose key to stadium gate
Baron de Coubertin wins a gold medal under false identity
1960 winter games held in city named for an ethnic slur
Obstacle Swimming
North Korea considered to co-host 1988
Housing complex for American soldiers during the occupation of Japan becomes the Olympic village
Torch design changed mid-relay
Cauldron lit by flaming arrow
Last three seconds of basketball final replayed three times until results changed
St. Louis threatens to hold their own Olympics if they don't get named host city
Fatso the Fat-Arsed Wombat
Balloon racing
Delirious man carried over finish line by coaches, wins marathon
Summer Olympics held in November and December
Olympics postponed for COVID
Blue screen of death appears during opening ceremony
Marathon runner attacked by priest
Guy kicks referee in the face and (maybe) ends up on a stamp
Jet pack flies over stadium
Centennial games not awarded to a very confident Athens
LA 84 gets in trouble for commercializing the torch relay
Olympic flame relit with cigarette lighter
Rower stops for ducks
Nazi propaganda becomes Olympic tradition (torch relay)
Did I miss a great weird moment? Send it to me in an ask and I might do a round 2 or something!
I chose the moments based on my own personal bias (lol)
Heads up that there is one that involves the death of animals, but I will tag any polls with that #tw animal death
Please don't hesitate to let me know if you need anything else tagged, and how to tag it!
Also, a disclaimer that I'm tired and scatterbrained and I work full time, so if this gets a little disorganized I apologize. Shouldn't be too bad though.
Let the games begin, and whatnot
@tournament-announcer :)

Tzimisce, Caitiff, and Ashfinders for Solomon please! 🎀
Tzimisce - What's your OC's most prized possession? How long have they had it? Why is it important?
Solomon's most prized possessions would be his daggers. They were part of the cache of Relics he found when he was a small child, and now they are an extension of him that he wields with unfettered fury and destruction. (They were also a custom item my storyteller made for him!)
Knives of the Broken Sun
Two flint blades of extreme age, these knives nevertheless retain a keen edge that rivals contemporary weaponry. They are embossed with silver and gold, and a glyph of the sun has been defaced on the hilt of each, replaced with the carved symbol of Set. Taken from a cult of the sun god, these pervert and profane the power of the light to serve the dark designs of the Minister that wields it. The two knives represent the two victories of Set: treachery and persistence. The left is more powerful in stealth; when used in an attack from stealth or the Discipline power Adder Strike, it bypasses all armor the target may have. The right is more powerful in open combat; whenever a critical success leads to damage on the Minister’s opponent, it also converts one of the foe’s existing Superficial damage marks into Aggravated.
Caitiff - Would you say your OC is quite individualistic or do they conform to their Clan stereotype?
Solomon conforms pretty well to the clan stereotype. He is far more interested in exploring the path of becoming a god himself and breaking his own chains however, rather than being content to just build a following that simply turns away from societal norms. He has always been about that choice. The choice to join him, to follow and worship him, and then to destroy yourself when he is ready to move on.
Ashfinders - Does your OC use social media? If so, which platforms and what's their following like?
Solomon uses social media but not so much for posting as himself. The Montreal compound runs several pages and websites to help target new potential cult members who are looking for help or down on their luck.

I'm doing another lingerie history throwback post, this time about the short lived diffusion line, L'Agent by Agent Provocateur.
L'Agent launched in 2013, when diffusion lines for luxury labels had become the norm in the fashion industry. These younger sibling brands offered goods at more accessible - though still expensive! -price points that allowed luxury brands to court aspirational shoppers without damaging the perception of exclusivity for their main lines. L'Agent followed this same strategy, with prices that were roughly 50% cheaper than AP.
Although many diffusion lines were eventually phased out, I think there were other reasons for L'Agent's doomed history, including the fact that it was such a latecomer to the diffusion game. Most popular diffusion lines at the time had launched more than a decade earlier and at this point, were considering shuttering operations. D&G closed in 2011, Marc by Marc Jacobs in 2015, Burberry Brit in 2016. While diffusion lines allowed luxury brands to build a larger, younger customer base, they also demanded more administrative and marketing resources and for many brands, they failed to differentiate themselves enough from main lines, dragging down that perceived luxury prestige.
Which brings me to my next point. A number of L'Agent's designs were clearly reworked versions of AP's designs. Obviously they were not exactly the same and the materials were different - but the latter is not something you can really appreciate when you're shopping online. Although AP digitally isolated L'Agent into an entirely different website, which it did not do with Soirée*, I feel its own designs were so distinctive, that didn't matter. At certain angles, I can't even tell the difference between L'Agent's Danita and AP's classic, Nikita.
While L'Agent was meant to be more youthful than AP, its early collections, especially the sets that did not crib from beloved AP designs, lacked a strong, cohesive voice. Despite this, L'Agent expanded rapidly, opening its own stores with what must have been a considerable outlay of capital. Here's an image of L'Agent's fourth store, which opened in Montreal in 2015.
Honestly, this Victoria's Secret-esque retail environment, nothing like the lush, boudoir-vibes of AP boutiques and their shop girls in their pink Westwood uniforms, strikes me as less fun and cheeky and more cheap and tacky - which is a shame because their lingerie was much better than what you could pick up at a VS.
While I didn't feel compelled to purchase a L'Agent set, I did pick up a pair of Idalia knickers for prosperity's sake. You can see the top photo of this post for the whole set. The panty has a number of costlier details such as picot edging, hidden seams, i.e. no gusset "pocket", and a two-toned lace. The stitches on the narrow elastics are actually three-point zigzags so they're tiny. However, the materials are a huge step down from AP. The lace feels stiffer and rougher and while the picot is cute, it irritates my skin a little.
You can still see many examples of other L'Agent sets online. I'll link to a few examples below.
Screenshots of the original website provided by its design agency

In contrast to L'Agent, diffusion lines that were more successful were those that meaningfully created a "conversation" with the main line while having its own distinct voice. For example, I could always recognize a McQ piece, even if it was more editorial. They often repurposed elements you'd see on the Alexander McQueen runway into more streamlined, streetwear inspired pieces such that you'd never mistake a McQ piece for an Alexander McQueen RTW piece. McQ persisted through the 2010s and it was only in 2022 that the line was "suspended."
In addition to struggling to find its own voice, financial troubles at AP, which would eventually lead to the company's bankruptcy, proved to be the final nail in L'Agent's coffin. By late 2016, AP announced that it would be downsizing both stores and staff at its headquarters by a brutal 30% and L'Agent was definitely in the cross-hairs. L'Agent bit the dust the following year - it held a final sale for the 2017 post-holiday season and by February 2018, it was all over.
Despite this, I feel like L'Agent lives on. Current AP lines like Fia, Laily, Whinette and Yara all have a L'Agent vibe to me. Which is to say, the luxurious details I associated with older AP sets have increased in price at AP while L'Agent-ish sets that have simpler designs and cheaper materials have created a lower tier to AP's lingerie without actually being cheaper than the cheapest AP sets back in the day. In this way, the inflation of AP's prices are better hidden from the consumer. Can you tell from the photos below which model is wearing L'Agent and which is wearing AP's Fia?
In 2021, AP tried its hand again at the diffusion game with its "All Hours" line. This one was much shorter lived and you can read an analysis about its failure on The Lingerie Addict. Only the Lucky line survives in an "Anytime" collection.
Interestingly enough, in 2024, we are starting to see the return of the diffusion line. Society has not emerged from the pandemic unscathed and the cost of living crisis as well as punitive measures against workers have crushed the spending power of aspirational shoppers. Meanwhile, capitalists have only gotten richer. As a result, prices in the luxury sector have rocketed skyward as brands zero in on their rosters of VICs (Very Important Clients) with specialized services and double down on exclusivity. But it seems like younger brands like Aries, that may lack the rolodex and capital of more established houses, are once again, returning to the diffusion line while older lines like Comme des Garcons' Play appear to be selling well.
Personally, I'm not sure if we'll ever see a diffusion line from AP again. Because AP's brand is already youthful, playful and cheeky and no one wants expensive basics from a brand like AP, there is nowhere for an AP diffusion line to go. But the fallout of the decimation of the middle class is still playing out. And we will see if AP has what it takes to respond to this tread of increasing income inequality and financial precarity.
* While brands were launching diffusion lines, some also launched higher-tier "demi-couture" lines like Burberry Prorsum that featured more expensive and experimental materials and fashion forward, editorial designs - AP pursued this tactic as well with its Soirée line which launched earlier than L'Agent in 2009.

do you have a post/posts that explain the world your characters are in or really any info posts about your characters :0? i love their designs so much and i'm really curious about their stories
ooooo this is such an exciting question to get! unfortunately i dont have a home base for everything outside of my personal notes and collection of scripted chapters, BUT i have recently been trying to come up with plans to build a wiki-style thing or another hub-style website for exactly that purpose. My biggest concern is ensuring i dont reveal too much about the plot of the comic itself, but as long as I make sure to keep enough stuff under wraps it would be a lot of fun to share some of the inner workings of the surrounding world (in this case, 2070 QC and Montreal!) I'm slowly building a collection of Toyhouse profiles for my main cast (for instance you can read about Ross here ) but otherwise that's all I have at the moment. but im very glad youre interested!! and i do hope to have some sort of information center in the nearer future :3

WOMEN'S ICE HOCKEY AND TAYLOR SWIFT -
By Bernard Bujold-
The women's ice hockey match at Montreal's Bell Centre on Saturday, April 20, 2024, was historic according to all sports experts, but one particular element of the show also caught the eye and animated the crowd. It was PIXMOB's famous luminous bracelet!
This bracelet was created especially for artist TAYLOR SWIFT and launched on May 8, 2015, by PIXMOB. It was the start of a worldwide renown for the Quebec-based company.
"...More than two million people around the world have worn a bracelet created in Montreal. PixMob designed the bracelet, especially for Taylor Swift's world tour. This tour has changed our lives," Jean-Olivier Dalphond, a partner in the Montreal-based company, told Le Journal. "PixMob, which took part in the opening ceremonies of the Sochi Olympics and the Super Bowl halftime show, had never done anything on the scale of the pop star's 1989 tour. The Olympics and Super Bowl were one night, Taylor Swift's tour was 84 shows in 10 different countries..." explains Mr. Dalphond.

can you share more about being/becoming an elevator mechanic? i've been idly daydreaming of working in a manual trade for years now and your response to the "i don't want a career, i want to do crafts" post just kind of... snagged a hook in me and won't let go.
Ooooo! Welcome to the wonderful world of elevator mechanicking! Though I should warn you, it has its ups and downs :P
Okay, now that that obligatory pun is out of the way, first thing you need to know is that it depends on where you are. If you are anywhere else in North America than Quebec, what you're gonna wanna do is contact your local International Union of Elevator Constructors chapter and ask them how to go about it in your area. If you do live in Quebec, the two routes are through the Labour Pools (check out the CCQ website for more info on that) or getting a DEP at the only trade school to offer it in all of North America, which is located in Montreal. Though, the program is only offered in french, so you'd have to speak French.
If you live in one of the very many places outside of North America, unfortunately, I have no idea.
Okay, onto what it's actually like doing the work.
So far, I don't have any actual work experience, just class experience, though I am hoping to get a job soon. Just taking a bit of a break during the summer.
So, what's it like? Challenging, eye opening, empowering, incredible, fascinating, and so much more.
I've gone from thinking +/- 1/16th of an inch was an impossible tolerance to meet, to regularly meeting +/- 1/64th of an inch tolerances. I've learned an insane and empowering amount. Whereas before, electricity and mechanical work were something of a mystery, because I'd been denied opportunities to explore, I've now changed all the light switches in my apartment to dimmer switches, and I'm currently working on building a trellis cage I designed for my plants.
My physical health and mental health are both WAY up. It can be hard and exhausting, and you need to eat so much food to keep yourself fueled (seriously, I need to eat 4 meals a day and it irks me because I have to remember to eat 4 meals a day, anyway), but also incredibly rewarding. Because I'm exercising much and meeting clear and concrete goals every single day, my mental health has improved spectacularly. I spent 6+ years of my life pushing through intense depression and elevator mechanic school was the first time in all those years where I would wake up and want to take on whatever the day offered.
In terms of physical health, I'm in better shape than I've ever been. It's easier to move in my body than it's been in years, and my body is much more capable of doing more tasks. It's wonderful to experience.
There's definitely discrimination. If you are a woman, or if people will think you are, be prepared for that. It's definitely gotten better over the years. It's also definitely still an issue. For me, the benefits far outweigh the idiots, but I can't promise it'll be the same for you.
Honestly though? I'd been daydreaming about being in the trades since I was 14. It took me 12 years to finally get my ducks in the correct rows to allow me to take that step, and my only regret is that it took me that long.
If you've been day dreaming about it for years, go and give it a chance. The worst that will happen is you'll find out it isn't for you, and you'll have more information to find something that is. If you are looking for permission or a sign from the universe, this is it. Go go go. You might find yourself happier than you ever dreamed possible.
Feel free to send another ask if you have more questions, or to update us if you take the leap! We wish you all the luck in the world on your journey!

I... don't entirely agree, but it's because of circumstances outside of my control.
See, I'm disabled, and my local Transit Authority's long had a Paratransport Service program in place for cripples like me. You register for the Short Bus service and then call ahead of any planned travels to schedule a ride. In practice, this means they should be able to deduct your transport fees from your account, but the feature is listed as Pending for Montreal's Transit Authority - and has been listed as such for the last twenty years on their website.
So, what do I have to do?
I have to schlep my crippled ass to the closest subway terminal to purchase a wad of tickets, which are not at the same rate as standard bus-ride tickets, which I also need. Then, I need to ignore all the snazzy tech able-bodied bus users have at their disposal and carry a wad of paper titles around that I frequently forget to replenish, because who the fuck wants to drive halfway across town just for fucking bus tickets?!
For five years, we had the option to purchase a USB-powered card reader that never worked as intended. For fifteen years, they've been saying they want to implement NFC tech seeing as everyone has a goddang cell phone, nowadays - but no. A Tech student hacks up an app that enables you to charge your card using your phone's own NFC point? Cease and Desist, we'll instead copy your design and hand it off to a commissioned firm for big bucks, and it won't ever fucking work as intended.
See my problem? I need a layer of convenience. I am not going to drive my way across town for fucking bus tickets my dog could chew through if I'm not careful.
Screw Boomers, this is an instance where the tech would honestly save my fucking day.
