Oh, yes, i was thinking a lot about this lately.

Like, it's 20 years, and I haven't even lived this far yet. 20 years is a lifetime.

Odysseus has been away for so long that he didn't see his son grow, he left when Telemachus wasn't even able to walk steadily and returned to him being grown up man. He was away longer than he knew his wife, longer than he was a king. Penelope with high probability was less than 20 when they got married and only a few years more than twenty when they separated. They spent the whole life apart, they met when both of them grew to be different people from who they were back then.

If you really try to realize the real weight of 20 years, it becomes horrifying.

This might be just a me thing but. I know that odysseus was gone for 20 years. However i think i know that only in theory. It's only when i sit down and actually conceptualize the length of 20 years that it truly hits me

Margaret Erskine Wilson, late President of Kendal Natural History Society, was a keen amateur botanist and water-colourist. In 1999, she donated to the Society 150 sheets of water-colour paintings representing a thousand British and Irish plants in flower and in fruit, painted in situ over many years and in various places. At the time she donated the paintings to Kendal Natural History Society, she wrote: Begun in 1943/4 for a friend who said, 'I might learn the names of flowers if you drew them for me, in the months they're in flower'! The result is this beautiful, previously unpublished book of all her accurate and informative illustrations, painted over a period of 45 years. Over a thousand British and Irish flowers are represented in this book and it still today serves Margaret Erskine Wilson's original purpose ― it is an easy way to learn the names of our delicate and beautiful wild flowers.

my mom just had a 7cm brain tumor removed and since she's woken up she's been talking nonstop about this dream she had about going to an art gallery full of colourful paintings by a 'homosexual artist' named klimsdorf who was ethereal and wise, both young and old... at first she was convinced he was a real person but after failing to find him online she's accepted he was a figment of her subconscious mind and is now determined to bring him to life via painting his portrait herself. she's 67 and has never drawn in her life. and now this. blorbo from her tumor
