Moncton's Ali Ettarnichi, founder of the new regional newspaper Arabic Atlantic, says the venture is so much more than just ink on newsprint. What makes this publication unique is that it's not written in English or French. It's in Arabic. Ettarnichi said it will fill a gap for the growing Arab community in Atlantic Canada. "People would love to see their own language and to speak in their own language and to hold the newspaper in [their] hand and actually read it in Arabic," he told Information Morning Moncton.

About three hundred people attended the March for Hope and Love in support of the LGBTQ community on Saturday. The march was organized by River of Pride in response to growing anti-LGBTQ rhetoric, demonstrated by anti-LGBTQ protests held across the country on September 20th. “Today we’re here to send the message that there is hope and love the the 2SLGBTQIA community and just show them that you are welcome you are loved,” River of Pride vice-president Justin Durette said. Organizers and participants expressed concerns with the recent changes to Policy 713. In June, the New Brunswick government made controversial changes to a policy governing name and pronoun changes for students under the age of 16, to require parental consent.

There's no way this would work. Because freight trains have right of way on Canadian rail the cross-Canada passenger run operates on a semi-permanent 48 hour delay minimum and you already spend an incredible amount of time on a siding watching fifteen kilometer-long grain hopper conga lines driven by one supremely overtired Moncton man take a scenic tour of Cowdung, Manitoba—which is my way of saying that if there was a rail line from New York to Berlin by way of Edmonton it would still be faster to walk to Germany then to put your hopes on VIA getting you to your destination before the heat death of the universe.
I have a new favourite batshit rail idea

⛓️ TOUR JOURNAL: DAY 2 - MONCTON ⛓️
- Drove 5 hours from Rimouski to Moncton, but not before paying a visit to the local grocery store for a sad parking lot road lunch fit only for r/shittyveganfoodporn.
- We arrived at Xeroz Arcade and were astounded by the sheer variety of games they had available to play. I will swear by arcade venues until the day I die and Xeroz is one of the coolest.
- We played with Blind Witch and they were absolutely fucking awesome. Real solid stoner / doom / sludge and they even through a cover of Red Fang’s “Blood Like Cream” into their set, a nice surprise considering it’s one of my favourite songs from that band.
- Bottom line: Moncton ruled. Can’t wait to play there again.
- Once again a huge shoutout to Bone and Yarrow for letting us crash at their place after the show!
