Sort of manga for the 20th year anniversary of the magazine belonging to the team behind Otaku festival, soon to be published. One of the oldest trees, in the Romanian capital city, almost burned down around 4 years ago, leaving behind a hollow inside. Ever since the incident, a piece of metal is strapped to its side, turning it into an occasional refuge for the homeless. This is the roughly translated version, the printed one is in Romanian.

The alt manga is about the spirit of a world living on the outskirts, almost forgotten by the hijacked revolution's aftermath. To look forward, this homeless grandfather keeps in mind the words of Lena Constante as well as the old-survivor-tree's lessons of life.

☯︎ This December marks 35 years since the Revolution of 1989, back when Ceaușescu's dictatorship ended. Nationalism, coupled with nostalgia for the by-gone Communist era, alongside homophobe outbursts and pro-extreme right Legionari fanatics have bombarded our everyday scrollable realities and, according to some, almost lead to a second Mineriad. Meanwhile, the presidential elections've been rescheduled for spring 2025.

So in my Raster Graphics II class, we're learning how to do 'digital painting' in Photoshop, and for this project we have to take our own image (I used this picture of a stray cat on my porch), and digitally paint it via the mixer brush. here's the result:

Her name is Coco (my little sister named her) and she's a stray cat that hangs out on the porch and we feed her from time to time.

FUN FACT: This cat doesn't have a tail! (She used to, but then she lost it one day, we don't know how but we think she either got stuck and lost it or some other animal attacked her and ripped her tail off) Either way, she is thriving tailess and looks absolutely adorable =3

Tilly's been showing me Steven Universe (which is a really good show, by the way), and I got inspired to design fusions of UTMV characters. So here they are! Knightlight, fusion of Cross and Dream, and Raster, fusion of Ink and Error. It was really interesting, combining their designs to make one character.

Three views of the Richibouti River in New Brunswick. The True Colour image, the Normalised Differential Water Index, and the Normalised Differential Vegetation Index. These each show interesting bits of information about the area, but I just posted them up because I like how they look. Sentinel 2 is an optical satellite which provides colour imagery at 10m for some bands. This makes it really useful, because it has a pretty good resolution. The NDWI is wonderful because it shows areas that are wetter, which means that it highlights specific areas, and I have used it to highlight wet spots and waterbodies. The NDVI can highlight vegetation health, but also areas without vegetation.
