No one made any distinction to me when I was growing up when a word wasn’t English. Andale was just another way to be told “hurry up,” and I was certain other parents told their kids, “Watch your cabesa,” when getting into the car. I laughed myself sick the first time I saw Dragon Ball Z because a ladies name was Chi Chi and I only knew that meant boobs.

All my moms family was brown and I desperately wished I was too. I wanted beautiful black hair like my mom and dark skin that didn’t burn. I didn’t like when people asked my mother if she was my nanny when they saw us together. I didn’t like that people told me I looked like my dad. They just meant I was pale.

I’d proudly announce to people that I was Mexican and become furious when they gaped or disbelieved me. My dads side has no cultural roots. When questioned my dad shrugs and says, “English maybe? I dunno.” I just wanted to be Mexican growing up. Alas, I’m only a quarter descendant of an immigrant family who vehemently didn’t want to be Mexican.

My great grandmother announced that we were American now, not Mexican. She embraced American culture as much as possible, while never learning English. My nana was put into school and punished anytime she spoke Spanish. She got caught halfway between both languages. Forced to spend her childhood raising her younger siblings she never learned to cook tamales with her mother and her friends.

When she had her own children she didn’t teach them Spanish. She used it to gossip with her own friends about them on the phone and resisted teaching them more than to come running when she shouted “Araña!” to kill a spider for her.

Thus came my mom, with her brown skin and dark hair, adrift from her culture but treated as lesser by her adopted one. My great grandmother would rejoice to see me as her descendant, white, ignorant of Spanish, the perfect American she wanted her family to be.

When I was born my nana shouted, “What’s that red on her?” only to realize it was my hair. She delighted in her palest grandchild, telling me often I was her favorite.

I’m used to the disbelief now when I tell people I’m Mexican. I can laugh and show pictures of my mom. My friend from work joked to me that I’m always coming out of the closet, over and over, because both my minority statuses aren’t as visible as her black skin.

I was recently lamenting this to a white southern friend the same one I cast psychic damage on during a DnD day. “I wish I could feel more connected to my culture, but I’d be such a fraud pretending my life is the same as other Hispanic people.”

“Skin color doesn’t matter,” he announced blithely to the choked outrage of our Indian friend in the kitchen, “You’re just as Mexican!”

I regarded him in astonishment and said, “I think skin color matters a lot. I am Mexican, but I don’t have the same cultural roots or experiences of people who are perceived as Mexican. My family didn’t pass the cultural heritage down. I think a lot of immigrant kids feel this way but it’s different for me.”

He rambled about how I’m just as valid and I quietly disregarded his advice. I could try to reconnect with my roots, but I know I’d just be another white girl pushing into a POC space.

Instead I make tamales by myself, sweating over the steaming corn husks, and I snap at people who make racist jokes about my family to me, feeling safe because my skin is the same color as theirs.

I'm finally home from my vacation and able to discuss the latest SxF chapter...all I can say is, I have a lot to say! I'll start with funny stuff first before I move on to analyzing...

Anya was especially hilarious in this chapter - where do I even start with her gremlin-ness? 😂 First off, there's her calling the butlers "henchlings' henchlings" (in the Japanese version, I believe she's using some mispronunciation of 弟子, which means "follower")

Then she calls out Twilight for being, well, Twilight, even giving his behavior its own acronym 🤣

She feels bad for George because his family isn't important enough for Twilight's aforementioned Twilighting 😅

And this doozy of a nickname for Bill!

In the Japanese version, she calls him something like "old man bully who hits people with balls" 😆

But joking aside, we get these profound words from Jeeves that seem to resonate with Twilight.

His words remind Twilight of the hypocrisy of his position: on the one hand, he agrees with Jeeves and wants the children to be able to grow up as they wish, without being burdened by the expectations of their parents. But that's exactly what he's been corralling Anya towards this whole time...doing whatever's best for Operation Strix, regardless of what may be best for her.

This scene reminded me of his musings when they first took Bond to the dog park; another case where he's aware that the morals he believes in are the opposite of his actions and yet...he continues with the mission.

I also think it's great that the other parents thank Anya for her bravery during the bus hijacking. Even if their kids don't act grateful, the parents should be on their behalf. Perhaps seeing this praise for Anya right before his eyes is what made Twilight feel even more guilt upon hearing Jeeves' words - he's seeing more and more what an exceptional girl she is despite not having the perfect traits for his mission, and yet he's still manipulating her (not realizing she's aware of the mission and wants to help).

But on that note, it's nice to see that George's dad and Becky's mom somewhat agree with Jeeves. As of now, I'd say out of all the Eden kids we've gotten to know, George and Becky seem to have the most decent families. I especially like how Becky's dad is adorably doting, to the point where he gets crushed when Becky asks Yor for help instead of him 😅 Also Martha having to reel him in, lol.

But despite being an overbearing dad, at least he isn't quick to jump on Loid supposedly "seducing" Becky 😂 He seems to not take it seriously, which is good since Becky is the one making the moves with her silly little girl crush.

Also Emile thinking Yor is pretty~ I'm surprised he had something nice to say about anyone connected to Anya, lol. I really want a chapter where Yor takes all the Eden kids on a playdate and they start thinking she's awesome like Becky does, even Damian.

Speaking of Yor, just when I thought she would be demoted to "background character" for whatever arc is coming, the last few panels give the impression that she'll have her next moment in the spotlight soon! Is she just destined to always catch Melinda when she falls? 😅

Not only are we getting more Yor/Melinda interactions next time, but also (hopefully) more of Anya reading Melinda's mind. I know there's theories floating around of how Donovan may be able to read minds and is possibly the one behind the experiments done on Anya, and that Melinda may have some psychic abilities too. Also some relation to that Arnold Crowley character introduced several chapters ago. I'm not good at theorizing, so I'll leave it to fans who are better with that kind of stuff 😅 But I think they're all good theories and I'm keeping my fingers crossed we'll get more insight into Desmond secrets very soon!

...but unfortunately the next new chapter won't be until November 25th, so we'll have to be satisfied with theories for now!

in the order 23 job it's eliot who knows on sight that the child with a broken arm is being abused. the kid's dad's social tie to the local cops: they drink together. when eliot and hardison impersonate cops in the morning after job, eliot demands they respond to a called in disturbance with a weapon, because there might be kids in the house.

where do you think eliot learned the relational dynamic he engages in with nate, and before that moreau? eliot left home because he "needed to get out of there". eliot has never lived a life free from controlling men. he may have left, but did he succeed in his escape? why or why not?

it takes eliot five seasons to mention his dad. he never mentions his mom. the carnival job does not center eliot in the gloat but as they walk away we get him centered briefly. nate's the one who says she's dead, but it's eliot who asks about the kid's mom. it's eliot who connects with her in a way it seems nobody has since that loss. in the future job eliot rummages in a car to provide facts so tara can pull off the psychic act. his voice wavers, when he mentions the breast cancer ribbon on the mirror. eliot never mentions his mom. eliot never mentions his mom.

would parker have ever mentioned the brother she lost, were it not for the fake psychic's violating reveal? why do you think eliot never mentions his mom?

Okay so in 1.03 Dead In The Water, there's this exchange Sam and Dean have at one point in regards to Lucas—the little boy who watched his dad drown, who Dean connects with during the episode:

DEAN Andrea said the kid never drew like that till his dad died. SAM There are cases—going through a traumatic experience could make people more sensitive to premonitions, psychic tendencies. DEAN Whatever's out there, what if Lucas is tapping into it somehow? I mean, it's only a matter of time before somebody else drowns, so if you got a better lead, please.

And the last time I watched this episode, I went "Oh cool! A little Psychic!Sam Easter Egg." Right? Sam goes through the traumatic experience of losing Jess, and he's tapped into "whatever's out there" (the yellow eyed demon) and he's having premonitions about what he's going to do next. Which definitely makes a lot of sense.

But when I was gif-ing stuff from 1.03 today, I realized that... funnily enough, within the context of this episode we also have some fun stuff relating to the "slightly psychic Dean" posts that have gone around this year... Or if you prefer, Cassandra!Dean. Cassandra, in reference to the prophet in Greek myth, cursed by Apollo to utter true prophecies but never be believed.

Dean often knows when bad things are going to happen in Supernatural. He doesn't have visions—but he has "bad feelings" and makes predictions that turn out to be scarily accurate at times. Of course we can infer that Dean is just good at 1) reading people and 2) understanding how sequences of events tumble one by one in a row like so many dominoes. It's another sign of his incredible intelligence. But it IS fun to think about Dead In The Water as the first indication of Cassandra!Dean.

First, because Lucas has premonitions, and Lucas and Dean are paralleled and connect on an emotional level.

Dean and Lucas have similar traumatic childhood experiences. Both watched a parent die and both lost the ability to speak afterwards:

DEAN You're scared. It's okay. I understand. See, when I was your age, I saw something real bad happen to my mom, and I was scared, too. I didn't feel like talking, just like you. But see, my mom—I know she wanted me to be brave. I think about that every day. And I do my best to be brave. And maybe, your dad wants you to be brave too.

Dean is able to connect with Lucas through their shared traumatic experience. He's the only one who's able to get through to him—and after a short conversation and just drawing together for a while—much to his mom's shock. Dean is able to understand what Lucas is feeling without Lucas saying it.

Second, because Lucas has bad feelings that tell him the locations where the spirit will strike next, but no one listens to/believes him.

...Kind of like people usually don't listen to/believe Dean's bad feelings.

DEAN Anyway. Well, maybe you don't think anyone will listen to you, or, uh...or believe you. I want you to know that I will. You don't even have to say anything. You could draw me a picture about what you saw that day, with your dad, on the lake.

Of course, this line is just Dean paralleling Lucas with himself and his own reasons for not speaking, but it must hit home, because Lucas begins communicating with Dean through drawings.

Further, despite Sam also knowing Lucas is having premonitions, when Lucas reacts with extreme distress to the idea of going home and clings to Dean desperately, Sam still... doesn't think it means anything. He thinks the case is over.

Third, Dean has a bad feeling that the case isn't over, and Sam doesn't believe him.

The sheriff had just threatened to arrest them if they stayed in town, so of course going back to town is a big deal. When Dean turns around based on a bad feeling, Sam thinks he's just being paranoid.

SAM But Dean, this job, I think it's over. DEAN I'm not so sure. SAM If Bill murdered Peter Sweeney and Peter's spirit got its revenge, case closed. The spirit should be at rest. DEAN All right, so what if we take off and this thing isn't done? You know, what if we've missed something? What if more people get hurt? SAM But why would you think that? DEAN Because Lucas was really scared. SAM That's what this is about?

Dean sticks to his guns, and they arrive just in time to save Lucas's mother from drowning in a bathtub.

Twilight: Your cousin who’s older than you by 5+ years but who’s always been really nice. Chill vibes, but disappears halfway through the family gathering. Is he out smoking? Did he leave the property entirely? No one knows. He doesn’t like Your Uncle, so that might be why he disappeared

Sky: Aunt, but not wine aunt. He brought The Casserole (everyone takes psychic damage). He’s from Dad’s side of the family, lucky him he has no connection to Your Uncle

Wild: Your neurodivergent cousin, the one who went to art school and is a huge advocate for mental health (/pos) Your Uncle hates him

Hyrule: The Middle Child. Also vanishes halfway through the dinner, except that’s because he’s actually some supernatural being trapped in human form honored as a local cryptid who has a desperate urge to go out after dark and stand ominously in a field and go touch grass. The family refers to these disappearances as his “Me Time”, they’re not concerned

Legend: Eldest Daughter, is ready to fight Your Uncle about politics (your uncle will be annihilated). Dyed his hair halfway through the dinner and used the fact that Your Uncle commented on it to start a fight

i reallyyy like the Zanotto family, I think they’re really neat. Especially once you add Helmut to the mix post-canon, I just love the collection of characters that make up that family :—] I also like the subtle Unconventionalness of the makeup of the family. I like that Lili’s raised by a single dad and they don’t really make mention of her mom. I like that Bob is Truman’s great-uncle, when they really didn’t have any reason to not just make him an estranged grandfather. I like that Truman gets two gay great uncles. It’s just fun!! I want them to go on a roadtrip together.

and this one’s a pretty easy pick, I know I’m not the first to talk about it, but the implied bond between the psychic kids in the Aquato family- mostly the Raz and Frazie relationship- is just. Soooo much. I love weird sibling dynamics. I love how it’s clearly something they’ve talked abt before but it’s still such a weird topic for them. Everything about the Aquatos is just ripe for weird dynamics.

Also like, the recontextualizing of everything about Augustus’s relationship with Lucy post canon? Like holy shit I think we should talk more about how the woman who raised Augustus since he was a young preteen was. Not the woman he thought raised him as a young young kid. Can we talk about how ford implanted fake memories of what type of family Augustus and Lucy were to each other while also erasing Augustus’s mother and Lucy’s sister from the picture entirely. Like. That’s got to be a weird topic to broach post-canon right.

things that happened to me that i think hatchetfield teens would experience

richie: got chosen as a throwaway member for a sports team in gym and ended up being the goalie. i had an entire sports anime arc with these guys (the captain learned how to develop and delegate better, the strikers were foils of each other with one learning to be more smooth while the other learned to be more aggressive, the midfielder realized that he was super important and his good stamina wasn't the only reason he got the role, and i learned to stop doubting myself, how to use all my experience to realize flaws in the other team, and go for it) we were literally a thrown together team because the captain just wanted the role for more credit. we somehow won the entire tournament.

ruth: im in a theatre group that makes its own original play through january to february. now, the plays are always hitting and they're incredibly. but... each time i improvised a random filler line, it ended up getting stuck in the show no matter how bad it was. i was performing night after night the same shitty "we're friends! friends are supposed to tell each other things!" because i couldn't figure out how to start an argument weeks ago and nobody could either apparently. i mean, i apparently got laughs but i couldn't hear shit over the rushing embarrassment in my ears. i can commit to the bit but not without internally dying ig

(the lex to my hannah fr fr) as for me, i could see past demons and had weird companions to warn me. the story's a bit long when properly told but tl:dr: white bear tried warning me of demon dad, i didn't listen, had to try and see past demon dad to get to real one. demon dad was standing in front of regular dad. i manage to walk through demon dad (freezing btw) and hug regular dad. white bear sees this as i go back to sleep on the pull out couch with dad, thumbs up.

my dad called my mom while i was holding her phone so i answered it for her and he asked what she was making for dinner tonight and if he needed to bring home any groceries so i asked and she said "we're eating, uh, the thing! with the... a thing!" so i tell my dad she's making "thing with the thing" and he goes "oh, does she need me to buy lumpias?" so i ask her and she goes "yes! that's what i meant. tell him to bring lumpias" and i'll be honest many of their conversations go like this but today i really was wondering if they genuinely have some sort of psychic connection. thing with the thing.

The Mews and Lavender settled in the shade close to the house. Lavender, still holding her little siblings, noticed the uneasy looks on her parents' faces. It was clear that this story still bothered them.

Randy and Akoya exchanged a lengthy look before beginning.

So... Lavender is a Pokemon known as a Mewtwo. As far as we know, she's the second of two.

There's... not much information out there about Mewtwo as a species. Lav only recently managed to Psychically connect with the first one.

Persim, now bunched up into a loaf with his little daughter nestled in his shoulder fur, tilted his head. So she's not a Mew? I always thought she was. A big one, and kinda weird lookin', maybe, but still a Mew. I mean, she feels like one.

Lav twitched her ears. She had never really thought about how other Mews might perceive her. With how rare they were, she'd never really considered the possibility of meeting another. And Uncle Perzi had never asked, so nobody had said anything.

What we do know about Mewtwos is... They're man-made.

Lavender was... Randy went quiet and grimaced. Akoya gave him a soft look and took his hand in hers.

Lavender was modified while I was pregnant with her.

By humans?

It wasn't easy to get Persim riled up, but he was clearly perturbed by this.

How did you let humans get close enough to do that to you??

Randy winced, and Lav felt a wave of guilt blast from him. Guilt? What did he have to feel guilty about?

Akoya must have felt it too. She leaned her head onto him, and wrapped her tail around him. They seemed to have a private telepathic chat.

Randy nodded, and Akoya met Persim's eyes with a determined, almost defiant look. Randy wasn't always a Mew. He was a human when we met. She smiled a little. Do you happen to remember when our island was visited by a couple of humans?

Perzi appeared thoughtful. A bit? I never saw them, because Mom wanted me to stay out of sight.

They were Randy and his dad. When I left the colony, I went back to the island. I met Randy for real there.

As a human?

Akoya nodded.

And... he didn't do anything to you?

She shook her head. Nope. He was so different from what the colony believed humans to be. He was kind. He was funny! I followed him home from the island and hung around.

You forgot something.

Akoya looked at her mate in surprise. He tapped at his left shoulder with a smirk, and the blue Mew's ears fell back in embarrassment.

I mean, he was a human. I'd say you had that right.

But I was wrong. The colony was wrong. Humans aren't all the threat they make them out to be.

Randy's expression turned hard. But the ones who are sure know how to make a show of it. His voice was drenched in hatred.

Akoya gave him a tail hug. The humans that wronged me wronged him as well. Randy only ever wanted to do good for our species. He put in years of research for these people, thinking that they wanted the same thing. To help us repopulate.

Persim narrowed his eyes. When exactly did you decide to become mates?

This time it was Randy's turn to shrink in embarrassment. Akoya rolled her eyes. It wasn't like that, Persim.

We tried several times and ways to get her pregnant. His voice cracked. But not that.

But...

I won't deny that I was in love with him.

Persim's ears flicked. You do realized that the colony would flip if they knew that, right?

I'm sure they would. But they can stuff it. Our life is our choice.

To their surprise, Persim smiled. Well, it's clear that you two are very close. Much closer than Dad and any of his mates were. Then he grew serious again. But how did you go from human to Mew? Did those bad people do that, too?

This was the part Lav knew her dad had the most trouble with. It plagued him constantly, even when she was a kid. Not that she'd known it at the time. She never got the full story from them. By the time she learned the rough idea of what had happened, she also knew how much it had hurt him. So she didn't want to cause him any more grief...

Maybe this time...?

But as she'd expected, neither of them spoke immediately. Randy's hand moved up to his shoulder, where the scar would be if he were in human form. Akoya placed her hand on his.

We... He sighed, seemingly trying to calibrate himself. We knew another Mew, named Mo. H-He and I, we... He gritted his teeth.

We went to destroy the computers... It... It was my idea, but he came along... We lit the room on fire, and teleported out... But it exploded.

I... I don't... very well remember what happened after that... I was... trapped. Pinned under burning debris... Mo was with me, and I know we talked some, but... I don't remember what was said...

And after that... I woke up in Sinnoh. Lav was three weeks old at the time, and... somehow I'd ended up bringing her with me. And years later I learned, with Akoya's help, that...

That I wasn't Randy. At least, not the way I'd thought I was...

He went quiet, and they sat in silence. Randy was shaking.

I don't know what he did, for sure. I... My guess is that... somehow he took my memories.

The... The actual Randy didn't make it out of the fire.

Again, silence. Persim had a look of contemplative horror on his face as he processed what had been said.

After a while, he spoke. So... so this human form you take... is it the same as the... the one who...?

Randy nodded. He appeared fatigued. Well, more so than usual.

Right down to the scar, which Mo didn't know about. And he remembers his childhood as Randy. So we know that there are memories beyond what Mo could've known. She paused for a moment. And his energy is the same as Randy's.

In all ways but his eyes, he's the same man.

Perzi narrowed his eyes again. Let me get this straight. You fell in love with a human, but didn't become mates until he was a Mew? He turned to Randy. And what about you? When did you fall in love with her?

Randy fidgeted a little, and mumbled his answer. After she fell for me, but before I was a Mew.

He didn't want a Human-Pokemon relationship, so we never were more than friends when he was human.

Perzi smiled warmly. Well there you go! Him becoming a Mew was a good thing for you guys.

Randy and Akoya looked at him, shocked. You're not... That's not weird at all to you?

What I see is two Mews who love each other very much. I don't know how I'd feel if he were still human. But as it is, I'm happy for you guys!

I know that Akoya wanted more than the colony could offer her. So to see that you found it, it really warms my heart.

Lav's parents were quiet for a moment. Akoya smiled back at her brother. Thank you, Perzi. Your support means a lot to me.

Persim shrugged, jostling Rosemary. She had fallen asleep, and gave a sharp shrill in protest before resettling.

Honestly I don't think I fully understand it all. But you two seem happy in the now, at least mostly. And I don't have a problem with that!

The Linden parents smiled. But soon Randy became serious again. You should know, though... My mom is a human.

Perzi flicked his ears again. So I'll occupy my time elsewhere. I can show Rosie the Hoenn sights!

Randy's face took on his typical look of concern. Are you sure she'll be safe?

I spent a long time before meeting up with you guys floating around. I'm capable of protecting myself. How much harder can a kit be? Besides, you guys'll be nearby if I need help.

You bet! You can always give a telepathic holler for us!

So it's settled? We're all going?

Yeah!

Great. I'm going to take a nap.

Randy stood up and began to float away. But he stopped a good ways out, and turned to look at Lav, who was sitting quiet and thoughtful with the twins sleeping in her arms.

~Lav?~

She looked up at her dad, startled by the word in her head. He motioned with his head for her to come with him.

Lav handed the twins to her mom, and went to follow.

Once they were alone, Randy sighed.

I'm... I'm sorry it took us so long to tell you all that. I don't like keeping things from you, but... it's... hard for me to talk about.

Lav smiled at him. You don't need to apologize. I get it. That's... why I never asked. She tilted her head, thinking of something. You never told Uncle Perzi about Mom getting sick.

I can only handle so much of it at a time, Lav. If she wants to tell him, she can. But I'm not ready right now.

His voice sounded so beat. Lav's heart ached for him, as well as her mom. Her parents had been through so much, in such a short span of time. And the waves of guilt she'd felt from him earlier crossed her mind. He must feel like it had all been his fault...

She walked up to him and pulled him into a tight hug.

I'm proud of you, Dad. I know that time is hard for you, but... You've come a long way since it all.

He didn't respond, but she could feel him shivering. Soon she heard him sniffling, which turned into weeping. She didn't know if it was tears of guilt, or sadness, or relief, but she wanted to let him get it out.

Akoya checked their bedroom, her twin children asleep in her arms. Hoy, you guys are getting big. And heavy.

She left the room. Randy hadn't gone to the bed to sleep, so he was likely in his other spot of choice.

And there he was.

Cozied up in the corner of the couch with Lav's arms around him. The blue Mew gently set the sleeping kits down before turning to her mate and daughter. Akoya smiled as she approached them. She leaned in to give her mate a kiss, when she heard it.

The elusive but oh-so-wonderful sound of his purr.

She gave him a soft peck on the head and, purring herself, attempted to squeeze into the sleep pile. Randy woke a bit, and met Akoya's eyes. In that brief moment, they felt the pain of their past fade in the strength of their unity, before settling down to sleep.

after living un the u.s for most my life, we moved back to our homecountry and lost contact with the winchesters. when we returned back to kansas after a few years, the connection with the winchesters was gone but the hunting life stayed with us. my dad still hunted occasionally, and my sister and i began taking on hunts ourselves while juggling the normalcy our parents wanted for us.

so, life was almost normal for a while. college classes, a semi-regular routine, and the occasional hunt with my sister when something nasty popped up. even though we don’t hunt full-time, we know what we’re doing!

then, out of nowhere, on a random morning in july, sam and dean showed up at our door. we hadn’t seen them in years, so it such a shock for all of us. turns out, they were working a case in kansas, and somehow, it led them straight to us. one thing led to another, and next thing we knew, we were hunting together again, just like old times.

the case lasted two weeks. but during that time, something else started happening. i started getting downloads. intense flashes, visions, things i really didn’t want to see. and they all pointed to the same thing: the apocalypse.

it didn’t take long to realize what i had to do. i couldn’t stay behind, not with what was coming. my visions kept us one step ahead of the apocalypse. so i have no choice but to leave with sam and dean. so here i am back in the life, back on the road.

little details: even tho it’s set in season 4 timeline it’s 2005. so dean and sam are 26 n 22. the previous seasons happened in 2 years in my dr. i scripted my safety (dw). also scripted a few eps from the previous seasons. my dr is not gonna follow the exact timeline or events of the show (for obvious reasons lol) also scripted they find the bunker during the apocalypse.

ML Pokémon

Ok, thought.

Marinette still wants to be fashion designer, but most fashion in Pokémon is centred on Coordinating. However, Marinette has performance anxiety, so she performs in Contests under the Alias “Ladybug”, wearing a mask to conceal her identity. While she doesn’t really want anyone to know she’s Ladybug - it’s stress she doesn’t need right now - it’s a bit lower stakes on the identity reveal so far. (Pokémon: Ledyba, Sewaddle, Scatterbug/Spewpa)

Adrien performs in Contests under his father’s label and management, but feels very stifled, as he’s basically representing his dad’s brand, and therefore has a certain image he has to maintain. He does actually enjoy Contests though, so sometimes sneaks out to perform under the Alias “Chat Noir”, where he can do more what he wants. Is considering doing the badge challenge as Chat Noir too. (Pokémon: [Adrien Agreste] Snivy, Shiny Furfrou/ [Chat Noir] Alolan Meowth, Purrloin, Absol)

Gabriel is looking for a specific Legendary Pokémon (?Terapogos, Celebi, Xerneas, Mew, Mewtwo, Darkrai, Cresselia?) because Emilie is in an unnatural coma for currently unexplained reasons. Fu is the current Guardian of that Pokémon, or the way to that Pokémon, but is getting very old. Through either circumstance, or a comedy of errors, “Ladybug” & “Chat Noir” end up guarding the Legendary Pokémon from “Hawk Moth” & “Mayura” (Phantom!Thief Gabriel & Nathalie, basically). By Team Rocket Rules, nobody notices each other’s identities. Fu decides to charge them with being the future guardians (either they were really competent, or maybe the Legendary sends a sign, like “I want these two”).

other thoughts:

- Juleka has a Kecleon and Vaporeon. Also Low Amp Toxtricity.

- Luka NEEDS to have Meloetta. Don’t know why or how, or for how long, but he does. Also want him to have a Lapras that knows Psychic, which can use on itself to “fly” (not particularly high or anything, but it can travel short distances over land fairly quickly). Also Amped Toxtricity, and a Ralts.

- I realize Fu should probably have a Torterra, but he also needs a Drampa

- Not sure whether identity shenanigans should play a major role beyond Adrien not recognizing his dad and pseudo-mom via Team Rocket Rules. Like, do Adrien and Marinette still keep their identities secret from each other, or because this is now probably more dangerous than “I’m uncomfortable on stage”/“If my dad finds out’ he’ll be upset”, would they spill?

- Alix managed to befriend a Celebi as a child. It shows up to “play” still, which sometimes results in time travel.

- Chloé needs a Vespiquen. Also a Beedrill. Also a Teddiursa. Also a Cutiefly. Also Shiny Lucario.

- Not Sure if Max should have a Porygon or a Rotom, or both, and which should be called Markov

- Kim has mostly monkey Pokémon, but also a Golduck (apparently the best swimmers in the Pokémon world)

- Should Mylene have a Mimikyu?

- Nathaniel has a Smeargle, and a Grafaiai (graffiti monkey)

- Kagami gets a Pawniard, a Galarian Farfetch’d, maybe Gallade, then I don’t know which dragon she gets, but something pseudo, probably. Also have her meet the Swords of Justice, cause, come on

While the Order is protecting Terapagos, and maybe knows about a few other Legendaries, Fu’s kinda separate. Like he’s connected, but he plays the role of Pokemon Professor since he hands out the Miraculous and in this AU the Kwami are Starters

As for the other character’s Teams: I mentioned that I’m limiting them to 1-2 Types or a theme for the majority of their Pokemon. THey can have some exceptions, often their Starter as the Starters have to keep to their Kwami. SO

- Juleka’s team I need to hammer but I could either lean into the pirate rocker or go with ‘pokemon people don’t always like because she finds them Neat™’

- Luka having a music-based team is on the list!

- Fu has some great choices there lol

- I think similar to Canon, Hawkmoth (and later Mayura) are kept more in the shadow letting Akuma Grunts do their dirty work, so there’s less risk of anyone finding them out.

- Chloé will get a Vespiquen because it’s Iconic™ and I do think the Teddiursa line is gonna be her other ‘exception’ but the rest are all Fairy Types

- Markov is a Porygon!

- Kim’s team is absolutely Monkey. There’s a lot of monkey pokemon tbh.

- Not sure Mimikyu fits Mylene but she does have plenty of Mouse options!

- Smeargle and Grafaiai are perfect for Nathaniel

- Ya know when this au was first made I leaned more into just dragons but yeah all the swordfighter Pokemon are Kagami’s now.

- Did you know there’s six different lines of Grass/Ghost types? Because Rose knows! I think I do have to give her a Roserade though because ya know. Rose.

- Nathalie is actually kinda open because while she does use the Peacock, that’s more associated with Emilie so she’d be like. Borrowing Emilie’s Pokemon? Not unheard of but Nathalie’s own team can be different.

- There are also so many butterfly/moth pokemon lmao.

- The way Their family talks about them being psychic is BIG "transphobic/homophobic/etc family starting to unlearn their bigotry" vibes. At various levels

- Their older brother is VIOLENTLY angry about them being a psychic in a way that feels close to transphobia. Believing that it's a choice and when pointed out the dad is psychic he says "It's a phase!"

- Mom is obviously still holding anti-psychic biases and would rather not talk about her family members being psychic, even if she's much more polite about it

- Older sister is not ready to come out as a psychic yet, saying that she's "not ready to break Mom and Dad's heart" (like Raz did)

- Dad has awkward enthusiasm about psychic stuff to try to mend the relationship between the child he hurt and to connect with them

- There's a dialogue option where you can try to out the older sister as a psychic, and the Dad responds with "She'll come out when she's ready"
