An independent Courier would actually hate being in charge or enforcing standards in New Vegas. At least in my mind.
They made Vegas independent but I feel like that playthrough/style so clearly makes it apparent it isn't for them. They are making Vegas a place where people can live freely, like how House genuinely didn't care what people did but without the behind-the-scenes Big Brother surveillance he did. Having every family, faction, and other influence group or person comes to them about alliances or rules would be draining, and boring, one note.
In an independent Vegas, The Courier is also Independent. They like getting rid of lines and borders that impede freedom, they like to help give people the tool but I don't believe they want to be the one to shape it.
#a lot of this is like how ncr started but then lost its way#the courier would like a democracy but like one that is truly run by the people like if public votes or letting people split off and embrac#their traditions instead of a universal standard like house changing the tribes caesar wiping out so many cultures and the ncr whole thing#with their money being worthless in territories they have not taken control over cause people dont want to#the courier doesnt want to be house 2.0 and i see that so often in peoples interpretations of that ending and I just dont think its the cas#like theyd stay to help it stablize for a but ultimately i think theyd leave to clean up any loose ends or just travel the mojave like#a lot of the dialouge good or evil is very much like the courier doesnt want the responsiblity to be placed on them rather they choose what#they want to take on that is not presented in sort of a scenerio where they losely rule NV cause everyone else would go to them even if the#say they arent in charge#i at least for the follower quest tell them their choices are theirs and no one elses so i see that as their outlook so im biased#cause im also good karma just for how nice I am and I like doing crazy adventure shit and its actually hard to have fun when everyone hates#you for being legion#anyway make of this what you will#fallout#fallout new vegas#fnv#the courier#courier six#courier fnv#the strip fnv#robert edwin house#caesar’s legion#new california republic#independent vegas

Tried rawdogging OpenUTAU without a tutorial because I was just really desperate to work on a certain cover and mad that UTAU Synth wasn't working. I didn't even download it correctly
#slightly concerned it won't work on my OS bc I use an older OS#all my homies hate Mojave#I hope that the OpenUTAU developers agree and let me run it on an older one dfjfldksfff#also if I'm remembering wrong and there is a newer one than Mojave then. that's great but I'm still staying on this one#a lot of my software sucks in the recent versions but I can't run the old vesion on a recent OS#because apparently the amount of money my family pays for Adobe just isn't enough for us to deserve backwards compatibility#fuck Adobe but I mean I know how to use it and my dad has it for work so. Yes-Man resents a lot of things but I feel like he kinda liked Benny. It’s never implied Benny had the knowledge to continuously upgrade or update him after Emily so I like to think Yes-Man respected Benny enough to adopt some of his opinions willingly.
Like personality wise, Yes-Man is like if Benny was forced to be a kiss ass; he’s equally pointed and jerky even if unendingly helpful. No matter if you spare the Great Khans, Yes-Man dislikes them and is kinda violent about things. What this says about Benny and the way he talked about things behind the scenes is one thing but the other is Yes-Man ingrained it enough to keep it.
I can imagine Benny mentioning Vegas was for them and while Yes-Man is logical, as any machine would be, I think it’s sweet if the personable part of his programming was looking forward to running Vegas with his “creator”.

speaking of new vegas i dont think everyone talks about the followers of the apocalypse enough because they are literally the best and most interesting faction to me the arbiter of new vegas
#I think people are too harsh on....idk 'good guy' factions in fallout like the minutemen get this treatment as well#Like i think its a consequence of the way rpgs tend to give players choices? Like you can side with caesars legion you can do the#Genocide run in undertale you can kill everyone in morrowind but its not gonna give you the right experience like being a good guy would so#It becomes okay first playthrough ill be good and boring and then on replays ill be evil and chaotic so being good is just...kind of the#Default with the 'fun' evil stuff saved for a second playthrough#I mean undertale makes it deliberately unfun because thats kind of the point so thats kind of a bad example#But the followers are interesting to me because kindness ISNT the default because its the post apocalypse!!! The followers being helpful to#The poor and downtrodden isnt because its expected of them in fact the OPPOSITE is especially in fnv where theyre formerly associated with#The ncr who are currently trying to annex the damn mojave but you know they do it because they do believe its the best way to help the#Societies formed post apocalypse!!! Theyre just genuinely nice in a world where everyone else considers murder nbd!!!! And they have flaws#Like any other faction like god sorry explodes

Ah, I love being a background character. So peaceful. Just an unimportant NPC, with no major ties to any plot line whatsoever.
#after listening to the group of main characters that is my class talk about their lives#I am so happy to be a background character#one rescued a man three times her size feom drowning in a river#another comes from a long line of beauty pageant aficionados#another had a run-in with the cartel in the mojave desert#another was one of the clowns in the 2016 clown sightings#another was stranded in Germany with two small children on her own#another had her and her group of friends chased by a psychopath with a gun in front of a waffle house at 2am while out camping#another was accused of a kidnapping and was banned from seeing their friend#oh i do so enjoy not having to deal with ANY OF THAT BULLSHIT#LIKE??? FUCK BEING A MAIN CHARACTER#THAT LOOKS LIKE IT SUCKS!!!#I am going to continue to be a background character and enjoy it#viva la simple life with nothing interesting going on
