Ah, I love being a background character. So peaceful. Just an unimportant NPC, with no major ties to any plot line whatsoever.

Update:
So in the tags I mentioned how one of my classmates had a run-in with the cartel in the Mojave Desert.
Apparently he was traveling to the Mojave on vacation with his buddies a while back and got surrounded by cartel members with AR-15s in the middle of the night. They had all their bags searched, and were only let go because they had nothing valuable on them, only pajamas and other things you'd bring on vacation. One of the guys apparently said "This is all you have?" before letting them go.
We had to do in speech where we told a story about something we experienced, and that was what Cartel Guy chose. This speech was on January 31st.
So, that weekend, and on Friday, February 3-5, Cartel Guy said that he was planning a trip back to the Mojave Desert.
He jokingly. Jokingly. Said that he was going to run into them again.
And I guess Apollo's gift of prophecy got to him.
He Has Not Been Seen Since.
It's been 40 days since February 3rd.
He has not withdrawn from the course.
He has not emailed the professor at all.
No one knew him well enough to get his phone number or anything, so he hasn't contacted any of our classmates at all.
He has already missed a major project worth 20% of our overall grade.
We're about to do another project worth another whopping 25% of our grade, and he hasn't showed up at all.
He has just up and Vanished.
Around three weeks after he disappeared, he submitted a single minor assignment online, and outside of that, Nothing.
My professor and classmates have concluded that the cartel got to him, and he used his one phone call to submit that assignment.
One person even suspects he Joined the cartel.
I once again reiterate: I Love being a background character and not having to deal with the FUCKING CARTEL. I love just being a background character and watching this shit go down from the sidelines.
TLDR: Classmate joked about running into the cartel in the Mojave Desert for a second time and hasn't been seen in the 40 days since then.
