Energy Drinks by Twinsimming 🥤

This mod adds custom Energy Drinks to a new type of vending machine.

This is a script mod that can be placed in your Packages folder. It was built and tested on 1.69 but should work fine on 1.67.

Soda-Lightful Vending Machine

- Price: §1250 - Category: Large Appliances - Includes all 11 original swatches + 1 recolorable option (3 channels) - Poly Count: 2346 - Originally created for The Sims 4 by RAVASHEEN, converted to The Sims 3 by me

Like the vending machines that came with University Life, sims can Buy Energy Drink, Shake Machine, or Slam Machine.

Energy Drinks

Teen and older sims can purchase energy drinks from the Soda-Lightful Vending Machine for §5 each.

Energy drinks boost the Energy need, give sims the custom Energy Rush moodlet, and remove any moodlets related to low Energy (Tired, Sleepy, Exhausted, Buzz Crashed, etc.), similar to drinking coffee, but the effect lasts twice as long (6 hours instead of 3 hours).

Drinking multiple energy drinks in a row will boost how long the Energy Rush moodlet lasts, as well as increase the moodlet's value, up to 18 hours and +30 mood.

Once the Energy Rush moodlet expires, sims get the custom negative Energy Crash moodlet.

Side Effects

If your sim goes more than 24 hours without another energy drink, they'll start to suffer from caffeine withdrawal and gain the custom negative Craving Caffeine moodlet for the next 2 days. Drinking coffee, tea, barista bar beverages, or another energy drink will remove this moodlet.

Drinking more than 2 energy drinks at a time also carries the risk of a sim being electrocuted and dying.

Teens and Elders both have a 5% chance of being electrocuted, while YA have a 1% chance and Adults have a 3% chance.

Flavors

There are 8 different energy drinks to choose from. 6 provide flavor-related moodlets from the snow cone machine from Seasons and the bubble blower from Late Night. These moodlets last for 4 hours.

The last energy drink is called Mystery Flavor and it works like the jelly bean bush from Supernatural; including carrying the risk of death, so proceed with caution.

New Moodlets

Energy Rush: Given when sims drink an energy drink, lasts 6 hours, +10, +20, or +30 mood

Energy Crash: Given when the Energy Rush moodlet expires, lasts 7 hours, -15 mood

Craving Caffeine: Given when sims go more than 24 hours without another caffeinated drink, lasts 2 days, -30 mood

If you want to turn a different vending machine into an energy drink vending machine, open your desired object in s3pe and replace the current script name with the following:

Conflicts & Known Issues

This is a new scripted object, so there shouldn’t be any conflicts.

All of the drink cans are different colors when placed in the world and during the drinking animation, but they all have a red can icon when placed in a sim's inventory. I'm not sure how to fix this right now, but that should be the only issue of note.

born 15 minutes after her brother. surprise! nine months and her parents had no idea they were going to be parents to twins: already had everything prepared for their little boy, precious and adored, only to have to make space in their lives for another. there was a moment, brief, where she was completely adored: a miracle baby, almost. until the stars faded and the reality of having two children instead of one started to settle in — double the diapers, double the meals, two figures to get through schooling.

aaron was always treated best. the thing is that after she was born, dove’s mother experienced complications, nearly died — and the experience was enough to make her father think she was cursed. an almost-killer. so it was easier to love the first born, the child that was wanted. she’s never spoken ill of dove like her father, but she thinks her mother believed it. home was comprised of two things: either her father’s burning fury at her for the act of being born, or her mother’s icy disdain.

it was little things: sometimes she wouldn’t have a plate set up for her on the dining table, or she’d have to walk home because her mother forgot to pick her up from school, or she’d have to wear hand me downs because there was only enough money for aaron’s new clothes. carved a distance between the twins, too. reckless, fun aaron and his quiet, academics obsessed sibling. that was the thing — if she couldn’t get validation from her parents, she would get it from her teachers.

The Big Split happens when she’s fourteen. this is when her parents hastily pack her bags and send her to live with her grandmother. her grandmother is sweet. loving, nurturing, the antithesis of what she’s had to deal with for most of her life. in a way, being sent to her is a mercy. a kindness from her parents. but it’s also a message: their family was set, and she was something outside of it. nothing to be done about that, though sometimes she catches herself wishing she could turn back time and find a way to make them love her.

dove never intended to go to college, happy to get a minimum wage job and figure out life day by day. until she wasn’t. until the days became monotonous, and she realized she was entering a spiraling loop. if she didn’t step out of it quick, it would swallow her whole, keep her cocooned in the past — so her anxiety told herself, anyway. she needed to get away, she needed to be reckless for once in her life, so she began applying to anywhere at all: any university, any program. palladian just happened to be the first to nip at the bait.

do not call her araceli. she responds only to dove. has a pavlovian response to the name araceli where she starts biting if she hears it.

really loves movies and wants to work in film one day :3 her passion is 100% in set design, the music composition part of her major is just for fun. the type to write a musical masterpiece and not even realize it.

always has some kind of braid in her hair. she used to add flowers to them to appear more ethereal but then bees kept coming up to her so now she stays away from the flowery looks.

But that might be a brand name and I'm not sure if that brand existed when MR2 came out or if it's recent.

But I'm pretty certain this is actually meant to be from STEAM[スチーム] but with MOCCHII's double CCH because the design clearly has rice grain pattern on its belly like it's a scoop of steamed rice.

I once had a super sim who, at least the version in my library, was last played before Get Famous released. She's super sim-ish at this point. What if I dumped her in a fresh save file and decided to play with miss Cherry Soda for a time? Does a new save file and a new set of people in her life convince Cherry to make good choices, or make really terrible choices as selfish super sims often do. After all, what harm can it do to them?

Where Cherry currently stands as super sim listed below.

Traits! Cherry has many. I admit, she's an old super sim, so my cheaty McCheatface self cheated in the baby trait reward, the toddler trait rewards, the new child aspiration rewards, and the new high school years cheat rewards. Also, mods -- specifically RPO for pregnancy and relationship shenanigans. Oops, Cherry was supposed to be considering being a good sim, wasn't she?

Skills. Cherry's pretty far behind here. However, with what she has accomplished and the traits she has from that -- this pink haired sim should catch up quickly. Right? Assuming she doesn't distract herself with terrible life choices?

Careers. We're doing okay here, still a long way to go though. I left off with Cherry as a doctor, top level of the career. This is where I'm starting with her. We may move on the University degrees before moving on to new jobs. Need to work on setting up new books and songs to earn royalties on first!

Speaking of University degrees - Cherry has none. Of course not! This version of Cherry hasn't been played since Discover University came out!

How about Aspirations then? Oh boy, this list did get LONG. Also, I think I need to do more Cheaty McCheatface work to remove her Player reward long enough to complete the Villainous Valentine aspiration. Right now, no one ever get jealous of anything or anyone she does! Not, you know, that Cherry takes full advantage of that or anything.

Last but no least, what occults has Cherry been? Vampire. Where she completed all three vampire aspirations before curing herself. Well, that's a big one off the list! She can't just become an alien, so that is off the list. Abductions, however, are not. She has completed the scientist career, after all. Why add mermaid to the list? Spinning Plumbob's Expanded Mermaids mod, that's why. I have two skills to build up with that! Then mastering werewolf and those aspirations? That's a doozy!

For Systems, this week, I've reorganized the structure of the GDrive. Now each section is in its own folder. So, it's a bit easier to look up exactly what you want to see. This also helps me when I want to find something specific, since I just need to folow the trail rather than try to remember where I put it.

Meet the Cast of "When Sun Shines Again" [Hero's Life After Mari]⛅: Lorraine Park (OMORI OC)

Lorraine Park

LORRAINE is a bubbly, sweet and outgoing speech pathology major and Zoey's fraternal twin sister. A true empath with a keen sense of others' feelings, she is always making sure everyone is having a good time and is always ready to lend a helping hand. She is extremely trusting of others (perhaps to a fault) and very popular thanks to her warm, energetic, and upbeat personality. Though she does enjoy a good party and takes full advantage of all the social events around campus, she still finds time to study and is much smarter and more perceptive than she lets on.

Lorraine is technically the middle child of her family, though she is only younger than her twin sister by 3 minutes. Despite being twins, Zoey has always taken the role of big sister with her.

Though she aspires to be a speech language pathologist one day, Lorraine's biggest dream has always been very domestic: to settle down and have a family (even though she has, unfortunately, been unlucky in love and is sometimes accused of having questionable taste by the ones closest to her).

She is fluent in American Sign Language having learned in order to better communicate with William (her younger brother’s best friend who has always felt like one of the family and has always been an “honorary brother” to her) who is hard of hearing, and it was William who encouraged her to become a speech language pathologist.

Lorraine loves a lot of traditionally feminine things especially romance movies and drags her sister, Zoey, to see them with her (which she is less than enthused about). When she finds a romance movie, her sister actually likes, she is very much an enabler: taking her to see it multiple times and making sure she owns it so they can watch it often.

Lorraine is particularly crafty and is talented at sewing, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. In high school, she had a part-time job as a seamstress at an alterations shop which she still works for in the summers between college semesters. No matter how busy she is, she still will always find time to sew up holes in her friends' clothes if they ask her.

When she and Hero become friends, they will often meet up to work on crafting projects together particularly knitting when Hero decides he wants to pick up a hobby. Lorraine helps to teach him and even knits him a scarf to thank him for starting a knitting club with her.

Lorraine was a cheerleader in high school and is particularly graceful and coordinated. She’s a wonderful dancer.
