Being fat, actually fat, with an eating disorder is fucking hell.

People assume you have BED, and if you actually do have BED people are so gross about it. If you have a restricting disorder people get concerned when you start eating more. People get concerned if you start to like yourself. People love to see you fucking miserable, and will completely ignore your misery in the same breath. It makes them feel good. They benefit at your expense through weight stigma.

So many physicians prescribe disordered eating to us. ED specialists in many places won’t even consider how EDs affect us. Our own community uses our bodies as inspiration to hurt themselves. Because nothing could be worse than looking like us, right? How are you supposed to love yourself when so many people actively don’t want you to?

To the fat person reading who needs to hear this, I give a shit if you recover. I give a shit that you are hurting. So many people don’t notice, so many don’t give a fuck, but I do. You deserve better. I want you to eat even if it means you gain weight. I want you to be happy in your body as it is. I want you to feel loved, I want you to feel seen.

If you are fat with BED, I see you. There is so much stigma and it is not your fault. Your weight isn’t “your fault”, you are sick. It’s not a moral failing. You deserve compassion, and the extent to which people project their own issues onto you is awful. You deserve to be comfortable in your skin, and your body is wonderful.

If you are fat with purging tendencies, or with restricting ones I see you too. We get praised for hurting ourselves, or no one notices. I see you. I’m sorry.

I wish so badly the world were more compassionate to you, but if no one else gives a shit, I do. Fight for recovery for me, even though I know that journey can be so, so lonely when you aren’t thin.

To those of you who have recovered, to those of you that may. You are worth it. You may be fat for the rest of your life, and that’s okay. It’s wonderful, your body is wonderful, and I see you and I’m proud of you. Sadly I know many of us recover alone, but I hope you know you aren’t. I’m rooting for you.

ohhh, i can answer this!

what you're looking at is a sphinx, or maybe a sphinx/clown mix (something i wasn't actually aware was possible until i did a little research, so the more you know!). mod grace and i are specialists in clown care, but i've honestly had a special interest in these little guys for a while now, so i could give a little bit of info!

sphinxes are most often seen in the wild as independent animals that don't often take humans as companions. some might, some would never- it all depends on the species. i'd be careful with that in your home and would strongly advise you see a vet in order to properly assess whether they're suited to home life (and, more importantly, if it's injured or diseased! wild sphinxes are smart enough to go to humans if they feel they need to be treated). and even if it isn't that type of species, it might be more satisfied visiting for food offerings as if a stray animal or a bird to a bird feeder would!

however, if this is a house sphinx, then they need to be properly enriched! while i don't know most of the intricacies of sphinx care, i do know they're tough to care for and a good percentage of them are owned by experienced owners who know what they need. what a sphinx needs above all else is entertainment, and that can come from puzzles or, most prominently, riddles. to warn you, they are very fond of them and will dish out "punishments" if you don't answer correctly. have extensive, creative knowledge of wordplay and tricks or be prepared in the case of scratching and biting- and this goes for you and your furniture. they're very insistent.

but all in all, they're very interesting creatures! if you're equipped to take on the challenge, go for it! as for the clown-like markings, i'd wager a guess it's a mix as i mentioned before (meaning the enrichment might lean towards more clown-friendly activities and toys, and diet may vary depending on species) or it's a case of mimicry! sphinxes tend to have facial markings normally, and some have evolved to copy those of clowns for advantages in the wild with either hunting or interspecies relationships. it's really interesting, and even if you don't come to own one, i advise you check it out! it's definitely worth the research if you're a nerd about wildlife (something i, as is evident, am)

There's also a really cool event today hosted by trans voice actress Katra Ariello on her twitch account here at 2pm est (so in less than two hours), where she will be performing a livereading of an upcoming, unpublished novel by Maya Deane called Beautiful on the Horizon, a trans retelling of the Joseph in Egypt myth. She will be joined by Maya Deane herself and some guest readers, such as Jordan Black, Thorn Hawthorne and Ana Valens. This is all part of her fundraiser to raise money for her independent audiobook production Golden Apple Audio, where she will be narrating audiobooks for trans indie authors. Ghost Swap announcements! imaaayhavewrittenthedatewrong + how to post + retroactive fills

Almost there, almost there! June 12th, our posting day, is almost upon us. Which brings me to my first point... out of all the possible growing pains of Gswap's new format, this one I was not expecting... the thing is... the anniversary... the anniversary for Ghost Trick, the date chosen especially to release Ghost Trick, Ghost Trick's anniversary. That anniversary? Is on the 19th. So that was a super fun typo to go unnoticed for two months! I am not going to change dates two days out, especially with no means to contact all participants, which means:

A FULL WEEK OF PARTYING.

Nothing like it, as someone would have it! The event will still open on the 12th, but all Ghost Swap works posted throughout the week, until June 19th, will be fully part of the initiative and will be included in the final masterlist. This might even come in handy for last-minute finishing touches, as well as for posting more than three things (as Tumblr tends to show three posts per person per day in a tag).

Now onto regular modly business:

We're opening the floodgates on June 12th and, as always, the official ruling on what constitutes "June 12th" is as lax as can be. Follow the time zone of your heart. Whenever it’s June 12th somewhere in the world.

Here’s the deal:

   Post your  work (or works, if you made extra treats!) AT ANY POINT OF THE WEEK THAT GOES FROM JUNE 12TH TO JUNE 19TH, any time zone.

   You are free to crosspost  your work anywhere or even post somewhere else (for example, fic on  AO3, fanart on deviantArt) and have your Tumblr post be a link to it. All I need is the  existence of a post on Tumblr and no additional logins required in order  to access the work (for example, no links to friend-locked dreamwidth posts, no archive-locked AO3 fics)

   Tag the prompter if the prompt you picked was signed, #ghost trick and #ghost swap in addition to whatever else you tag your stuff with (this is the important one so people can find your work)

Shortly after Randy and Elspeth moved in together, their baby was born. It was a boy! They named him Ryan, following the Kingston family tradition, started by Roderick, of giving all male children names that start with an R.

The ‘Taylor Swift effect’ aims to provide water during Brazil’s life-threatening heat waves

Brazilian climatologist Núbia Beray Armond for years had been sounding the alarm about Rio de Janeiro’s need for an extreme heat plan including water distribution. Interest was tepid until a disastrous Taylor Swift concert — and now her phone won’t stop ringing.

A stifling heat wave blanketed southeast Brazil the day of Swift’s concert last November, just before the start of summer in the Southern Hemisphere. Tens of thousands of “Swifties” lined up for hours under a sweltering sun, some huddling beneath umbrellas. Once inside, a group of parched fans managed to get Swift’s attention; she paused her performance to ask staff to provide them with water.

Not everyone was so lucky. Ana Clara Benevides, 23, suffered heat exposure that caused cardiorespiratory arrest during the concert, and she died.

Her death sparked outrage. Many accused organizers of failing to deliver sufficient water for concertgoers. Brazil’s justice minister said the death was unacceptable, and his ministry issued a regulation obliging organizers of big events during heat waves to guarantee water for attendees.

Others were galvanized to enshrine water access into law, a sign Brazilian authorities have begun considering it a public health issue in an ever-hotter world.

I'm missing Skyrim 😭

But if I play I'm going to want to download a billion (more) mods. Then I'll have to fix/patch them. Then I'll want to customize them. And I was already in the middle of making 2 replacers. And I'm still feeling burnt out with modding (it's why I haven't modded datv yet). And CK and SSEEdit are still being weird for me. And odds are I'll break something and lose my mind. And idk what half of my "fix it" screen grabs are about now 😵‍💫

Hello fellow clown owners!!

I've been caring for a scare clown for 5 years now. It hasn't gotten sick and, forgive me; I have not done any prior research before purchasing this clown, but I've had no complications until now. I impulse bought it due to the amount of people around me getting clowns and I wanted to feel included while also having a new life long friend.

I'm aware that wasn't a good idea and I gave my scare clown, "Cheese Sandwich", a sufficient and consitent feeding schedule. If it matters; I feed him freshly grown peanuts and store bought cotten candy. I believe the brand was called "Goofin' Hop".

Cheese Sandwich has been growing purple spots all over his body when he use to be a vibrant yellow and black colour. The yellow has now faded and Ive searched for some solutions, but it seems I can't find any info on this. The closest I've found was "Zebra Stripes Disease" but instead of polka dots they were purple stripes and the other conditions were the same. Please if you know anything about what I can do to save Cheese Sandwich it'd be greatly appreciated. If anyone has questions please ask away.
