My physical self-esteem went up when I left Christianity. Actually, I kinda did a speed run of body neutrality and body positivity following my deconversion.

No, my body is not inherently sinful. No, it does not cause men to stumble. Yes, it is actually good thing that I can experience pleasure from my body, including sexual pleasure.

Leaving Christianity was the biggest blow to my insecurities and physical limitations.

my mom apologized to me last night. she said she could see that our religious upbringing made it hard for me to accept myself, due to how everyone either ignored or hated my sexuality.

I hope you all get to feel something like what I felt last night. Something like... vindication? Grief for the little girl who needed to hear that from her mom (or anyone) years and years ago? Satisfaction that my mom FINALLY sees what's been going on with me all this time?

I don't know, but it was cathartic. We all need to hear that apology. I hope every one of you hears it one day.

Just thinking about this as I mindlessly brainrot when watching the new Fallout show. I think the Elder Scrolls franchise would be infinitely more difficult to adapt than Fallout, just because explaining the world to an audience would take a lot more effort and there is way more cultural and physical diversity among the cast, not to mention a timeline that is several thousand years versus ~two hundred, a bajillion gods and kings and heroes and species of significance, a lot of interconnected trade networks and alliances, so on and so forth.

Whatever it ended up being, it would have to be a tiny infinitesimal snapshot fraction of what the entire Elder Scrolls lore can provide.
