Can we just talk about how Mobius, is flipping through files with this look of sheer exasperation, just casually letting Loki nap because honestly, what else can you do when you’re dealing with a literal god who has absolutely no concept of normal office behavior?

Mobius, for all his sarcasm, also seems to understand that Loki isn’t just a perpetual chaos machine. He’s a person who occasionally needs rest, and he respects that in his own way. He’s giving Loki a little space, letting him have his godly nap without even commenting on it. He doesn’t need to.

and Loki, god of mischief… reduced to napping on a desk. Like, Mobius must’ve looked at him and just thought, Aww, my little god-boyfriend is tired. You can almost hear Loki thinking, I’ve fought entire armies, but this bureaucracy? This is my downfall.

Like here’s this immortal being who could probably bring down entire civilizations with a snap of his fingers, but at this exact moment? He’s utterly defeated by the weight of paperwork and office politics, completely undone by the mundane office grind.

Theres some strange comfort in watching a god deal with the same frustrations we all do: deadlines, the never-ending bureaucracy, and the fact that sometimes you just need to close your eyes for five minutes.

Loki looks at Mobius in this scene like Aziraphale looks at Crowley during the "Smite? Smote? Smitten" scene, and that gives me hope that Lokius will become canon(I'm delusional)

LET'S TALK ABOUT WHEN MOBIUS GETS EMOTIONALLY COMPROMISED

I rewatched S1 (in prep for a GIANT meta reviewing S1 and S2 together), and upon second viewing, I greatly appreciate the subtle and gradual progression of trust within Loki and Mobius' friendship. S1E2 is key to this. Tom and Owen's performances are impeccable because the energy between them changes scene by scene alongside the plotpoints.

From Mobius' end, I think I found the exact moment Mobius officially became emotionally compromised when it comes to Loki:

"Extinction of the swallow? Is that a thing?"

"Got 'em!"

Racing against time cross-refrencing apocalypses with the presence of Kablooie. Spouting back and forth about their progress. Sassy remarks.

After a rocky start, they are now operating on the same mental wavelength. They're in rhythm. They are having so much fun together. They are smiling and laughing. Any moment in which a best friend is made feels exactly like this.

Not only was Loki right about his Apocalypse Theory, he also finds the exact date and location where Sylvie hides. Mobius is so proud of him! Look at these faces:

But we don't see how smitten Mobius is until he's with Renslayer in the scene that immediately follows. Sure, Mobius is excited about getting close to catching Sylvie, but he's even more excited about how well he and Loki work together. It's incredibly sweet.

I couldn't find gifs of the exact dialogue I wanted, so I transcribed it like the obsessive fool that I am:

RENSLAYER: And this is all based on a theory from the variant who just blew your previous mission?

MOBIUS: Yeah, he's doing great!

AND

MOBIUS: Come on. You don't usually see me this worked up, right? I'm exited! Im chomping at the bit!

When he says this, even Ravonna looks happy for him? I'm kind of sad, actually. You can tell in this scene that Ravonna and Mobius truly were close friends, once upon a time.

Then, they go to the locker room before deployment, and what does Mobius do?

He's so happy he gives Loki his daggers (a symbol of love), likely knicked and saved for who knows how long, hidden from Renslayer because this love is precious and he will not give it up. (@northrnfool you put this so well in another post!)

S1E2 has so much to unpack. Every scene is so layered, yet efficient and economic in effectively in propelling emotion and plot. I can't wait to word vomit on the whole series. Please forgive me.

His phone pinged. A message from Loki appeared on his lock screen, saying simply, “I’m on my way home.”

He tapped on the notification and pulled up his emoji keyboard, ready to reply with a thumbs up, but then thought better of it when he remembered that Loki didn’t like it. He said that it felt passive-aggressive to receive only a thumbs up in reply to his messages. Mobius didn’t quite understand what he meant by that, but he had taken it out of rotation for Loki’s messages, settling instead for the green heart emoji—one Loki loved.

He hit the green heart a few times, then a couple more times for good measure before he pressed send. He sat back and watched as a chat bubble appeared, signifying that Loki was typing a reply.

It took awhile for him to respond. Mobius laid back on the sofa and stared at the bubble as it appeared, disappeared, and reappeared again. Loki was obviously trying to decide how best to reply, pausing and deleting his text while crafting his message to Mobius.

When it finally came through, the grey text bubble was a wall of green hearts. The message was so long that Mobius had to tap on it for it to unravel to its full length.

He laughed out loud at the absurdity of the God of Mischief and Time sending him a message entirely composed of emojis. He imagined Loki walking back home, his grocery bag hanging from his arm while he ferociously tapped away at his keyboard, trying to fill the screen with hearts just to make him smile. It worked.

The door opened, and before Mobius even had the chance to greet him, Loki instantly began to rant.

“I was held captive by Mr. Johnson in the corner shop.” Loki sighed, dropping his bag to the floor. “I only went in for those indigestible sweets that you enjoy so much but instead heard more about his tractor than I ever cared to.”

He left the bag where it was, not bothering to put anything away, and walked straight over to Mobius on the sofa.

“I don’t know what made him think that I would care about this vehicle of his.” He said as he flung himself down on top of Mobius, resting his head comfortably on his chest.

“I honestly couldn't care less, but I had to be nice to him because Gwendoline from the post office told me that he makes enemies out of people very easily, and I cannot be bothered to argue with an old man who isn’t you. Thank the gods it was closing time, or I might still be there now.”

Mobius huffed, and Loki lifted his head so that his chin rested on his chest. “Hello, by the way.” He smiled, pressing a kiss to Mobius’ lips and gazing into his eyes.

“Hey, sweetheart,” he replied, looking back at his partner with what he assumed was the most head-over-heels, love-struck look of all time.

Even after all this time, it was the simple moments like this that caught Mobius off guard. His heart thumped rapidly in his chest whenever he remembered that this was his life now. He was married, he lived on the timeline, and Loki was his life partner. To this day, he was unequivocally smitten with Loki.

No matter what, Loki always looked gorgeous, and he couldn’t help but stare at his husband in silence, struck by his beauty.

Enough time passed that Loki tipped his head to the side questioningly, eyes softening as his black hair fell across his face.

Mobius reached to brush the stray hair, threading his fingers through it and pushing the strands away from his eyes, gently grazing his scalp with his nails as he did so. Loki shivered at the touch.

“Come here,” he said, cupping Loki’s face and pulling him into a deep kiss.

“I missed you.” He murmured against Loki’s lips.

Loki smiled, kissing him softly before pulling back to look him in the eyes. “Mobius, I was only gone for 45 minutes.”

He held Loki close to his chest, tucking his head under his chin.

“I missed you.” He repeated.

Loki snuggled into Mobius, humming delightedly as he wrapped his arms around his waist.

“I missed you, too.”

Late afternoon sunlight streamed through the window, tinging their living room with a warm, golden glow. The sun’s rays shone off Mobius’ wedding band as he lifted his hand to stroke through Loki’s soft curls.

He smiled when he heard Loki hum in satisfaction. Laying on the sofa like this had become a routine of sorts. Loki sought out physical contact constantly, and Mobius was more than happy to give that to him.

A comfortable silence stretched between them before Mobius spoke again.

“I can’t believe anyone could hold you hostage. Not now, anyway.”

“You don’t understand,” Loki began. “The level of pettiness Mr. Johnson has achieved is above what I’m willing to put up with. I’m retired, you know; I don’t need that kind of energy.”

Mobius played with the hair next to Loki’s ear, then rubbed the pads of his fingers against his temple comfortingly.

“Can you retire if you never had a job, Your Highness?” He smirked.

“I think you’ll find that I had quite possibly the most important job in the universe.” Loki retorted, with no real bite.

Mobius’ heart clenched whenever he thought about the role that Loki had taken on. He had known that Loki was always capable of good, but holding together all of time was something he never imagined anyone being able to do. He was so proud of Loki for finally being able to be the person he’d always wanted to be, even if it wasn’t how he’d originally envisioned.

He pressed a kiss to the top of Loki’s head, breathing in the floral scent of his shampoo.

“You know a lot about the people in the town…” He started, scratching against Loki’s scalp in the way that he loved so much, totally not fishing for more information.

Loki sighed happily. “Oh, you must get into the drama of the people here, Mobius. It’s delightful!”

Mobius laughed, “Delightful, you say?”

He always joked that he didn’t care about the town drama, which was partially true, he just didn’t care to hear about it from anyone but Loki. He loved how excited he got spilling people's secrets to him. There was always something new going on and Mobius lived for the moments that he could listen to Loki talk uninterrupted.

“Precisely. You know Pat from the butchers? Well, apparently, she allowed one of the trees in her garden to grow too high, and Mr. Johnson took that personally.”

“What’s that got to do with him?” Mobius huffed, continuing to stroke through Loki’s hair absent-mindedly.

“The tree blocked his view, so he reported her to the council,” Loki cackled. “Oh, it’s wonderful that this is what they constitute as drama. Imagine if they heard about how you reacted after I went to Lamentis. Now that was real drama.”

“Hey!” Mobius grumbled, scratching his nails playfully against Loki’s scalp, “Stop bringing that up. If you’re allowed to be dramatic, then so am I.”

He felt Loki relax further as he continued to tease his hair and scalp with his fingers. If Loki were a cat, he would be positively purring right now.

“Let a man live, OK? It’s not every day you get betrayed by the first real friend you’ve made in centuries.”

Loki mumbled something into his neck and giggled playfully.

“What was that?”

“I said,” Loki lifted his head, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “You betrayed me.”

Mobius put on the most dramatic, fake offended gasp of his life.

“This again?” Mobius huffed fondly. “You’re lucky that I love you.”

Loki placed his hand against Mobius’ cheek and pulled him into a lazy kiss.

“Yes,” he said, resting his forehead against Mobius’, “I am lucky indeed.”

ok that beauty and the beast au has got me thinking: what other fairytale aus could fit lokius? I was thinking maybe sleeping beauty but if u have other ideas I’d really wanna hear them :)))

I mean you know I instantly think of everything in context of Mobius lol, therefore my first thought was Loki "waking" him up to the truth of the TVA but honestly Loki's interest initially hinges on Mobius surprising him at every turn while Mobius was smitten from the start so instead I LOVE the thought of Mobius hearing rumors of a prince cursed in eternal slumber that everyone's given up on and most almost seem happy to be rid of??

Then when he starts studying up on the situation (analyzing Asgardian lore or something) he's swept up in awe over Loki's power and depths of their magic, notices details others overlooked about their wit, motivation, sense of humor, etc, and ends up telling Loki's prone self all about how amazing he really is when he finally finds him! Ofc being Mobius, he's happy sitting there being good company for a while until Loki wakes up, cleaning up the place a little while recounting some of his favorite stories from Loki's life, wishing he could've been there to see them in person while Loki started off being insanely annoyed at this commoner who dared barge in making assumptions about their life and is now captivated by such genuine kindness that's seen right through them in a way no one ever has before 😭

Not only that, but in spending so much time there Mobius has inadvertently let slip details of his own life as well and it paints for such a lonely and self-deprecating picture that the desire to tell him how incredible he is and lucky anyone would be to have him in their life might just be enough of a pull to wake up 🥺💖

Sorry for rambling there but I genuinely can't get enough of how well EVERY story or trope works for Lokius, their power as a ship will forever be unmatched! As for other fairy tales this is just off the top of my head but maybe a Cinderella AU where Mobius is meant to infiltrate a ball at the palace to get info on Odin and ends up meeting Loki who can instantly tell he isn't meant to be there but curious enough about his motivations and relived to be spending time with someone new that he shadows him for the night under the guise of using whatever dirt there is on Odin for his own benefit when really it's just nice to finally enjoy spending time with someone until he becomes desperate to figure out who Mobius is once all that's left of an unexpectedly perfect night is the fading glow of a time door 👀👀

I can’t stop thinking about how weirdly intimate this deleted scene is. Loki’s like, ‘ugh, the cream is weird’ and Mobius is like, ‘lol, shaving cream’ and it’s just this quiet little moment of domesticity in the middle of cosmic bureaucracy. Loki looks so comfortable and dare I say… happy? Like they’re in their own little pie-filled world.

And theres something so ridiculously soft about Mobius throwing out the dumb shaving cream joke and Loki, a literal god, just giggling like an idiot. Like, Mobius could’ve said ANYTHING, and Loki would’ve been like ‘hehe, you’re so funny.’ Bro was smitten over pie and banter.

Describe your WIPs Badly

Okay so I wasn’t officially tagged on tumblr but @cha-melodius did this and it looked fun so I’m doing it anyway!

Basically the goal is to summarize your WIPs badly— some of mine are badly described plots and some are just me poking fun and making a joke about the content, some are both lol. Please feel free to send me asks asking about ones you’re curious about, I love talking about ideas and sometimes it helps me get inspiration to work on them! Some of these are newer and some are ones I’ve mentioned before, but they’re all ones that have at least one sentence/deeper idea written (not always a good one, but an idea at least lol)

The real storms were the daddy issues along the way

Tom Hiddleston called Loki a mercurial spirit one time and I ran with it, now Loki and Sylvie are ghosts gently terrorizing and falling in love with Mobius who is just trying his best

Sylvie has only known Jack 10 minutes but if anything happened to him she’d kill everyone in the room and then herself

Everyone is drunk, Loki wants to kiss that old man so bad it makes him look stupid, and Mobius wants to kiss that god so bad it makes him look even stupider

Author is a swiftie and Mastermind is so Lokius coded it hurts

No I’m not over Loki season 2 and neither are Classic Loki, Kid Loki, and Croki

What if all the Lokis just loved themselves and their Jotun forms, wouldn’t that be nice? They don’t yet but they’re trying

Loki has grown so much but would snap Brad’s neck and like it if he so much as breaths wrong at Mobius again

So many hugs and softness that your teeth might fall out

All the Lokis getting the heavy dose of gender fluidity and self expression that marvel didn’t give them

Birthdays are weird for Lokis when they’re centuries old but their favorite silver fox is going to give them all the happiness regardless, dammit.

Sylvie is taking the end of season 2 a lot less well than it appears

Loki controls his timeslipping but really has a bad time as he thinks way too hard about “who” and what is at stake

Casey and OB are smitten, neurodivergent kings who are absolutely clueless despite being obsessed with each other, no I’m not taking criticisms at this time

The boastful origin fic that haunts me more than ever because we didn’t see more of him in season 2

Author putting two of the most attractive, badass women from marvel in a room together in an apocalypse and letting them take the reins

There are definitely other WIP docs that exist but none others (that I know of anyway) that have enough to summarize yet!

I feel like it’d be accurate that Sonic movie 3 would go for how Amy Rose is usually depicted in the Sonic games if she were in the film. But I kind of prefer how her personality was in the Sonic Boom material and I would like to see that instead because 1. Her speech to Shadow would still line up with that personality and 2. The crazy fan girl persona isn’t a favorite of everyone and it would be nice if they tone it down a bit so that movie!Sonic doesn’t have to be traumatized.

Also, I had this ‘amusing, but not likely to happen’ idea of some Mobians–including Amy–being on the Ark as a way to explain a few things. (Because, how the heck did Shadow come about in the movie continuity if both Earth and Mobius exist in the same universe?) And then she also ended up frozen for 50 years but came out early. She got to see both the best and worst of Earth, but chose to value the good in it.

…..And I admit, part of the reason I had that idea was so that she grew up on those girl group singer music from the 60s. Then when she sees Sonic and he’s just beating up bad guys, ‘One Fine Day’ by The Ronnettes is just randomly playing at that point to show how smitten she becomes for him. (I would give that song a listen because THAT is the song I associate Amy with when it comes to her feelings towards Sonic).

That or it'd just be amusing if movie!Amy was ironically more mature than Sonic, but still gets to keep her crush on him without making it too obvious.

But I read something about a discord server that I could not find, anywhere (this might be just my incompetence to use tumblr tho 😂) and I just wanted to ask what's up with that? Like, is there separate ones for your works or are there one, and can anyone join? Thanks if you answer! (Also the end of Mobius was avsolutely crushing, I wanted the happy ending but I also don't wanna part with the boys 😥 Anyway, I'm happy about Justice in Defiance too, it's absolutely beautiful and I really like that it's gonna get more attention. Also, that last chapter was fire there too! So thanks 💚)
