Am I the only one who feels that Hazbin Hotel's overall vibe is far too naive and upbeat for an adult cartoon about hell and redemption of sinners?

I feel like before writing this cartoon, Vivzie and the other writers should have made a trip to unfortunate areas of the world and watch how the lifestyle there rolls. Because hell is said to be a place of misery, where there is no trust and a lot of hate, both internal and external... Adam is an object of pure unfiltered hartred (both from writers and fandom) because he dares to live in heaven, such a safe and friendly-natured place...

And yet the sinners who happen to be main characters act more like school kids on a field trip (even more carefree than those, lol) - their selfish and sinful motives are so artificial and are brought up only when these characters need to look like a victim, not like criminals who somehow deserved a place in hell

Obviously, it's a manipulative trope to put them in a better light than Heaven and Adam (who is forever silenced by the writers and not allowed to voice any thoughts and reflections other than "hurr durr murder I luuuv murdering and being evil because that's what I was since I was born, even though Lilith and Eve, born literally the same way as me, were innocent victims from the get go, and no logical explanation for that will be provided whatsoever - men bad, women good")

In the light of all that, the sinners are too eager to trust each other and form "da epic powar of friendship" mlp-sonic-style

In a society built on terror, anarchy and survival instincts, no one would ever bother wasting vital power on noticing someone's problems and helping them out. Everyone is focused on their own problems and desires, and that's what drives them to act. Well, the exception may be family members, and even that varies

That's why Husk's intent to comfort Angel after the later attacks him over nothing at the bar, looks really fake, considering the setting. At first I thought that "loser baby" where Husk insults Angel, was some sort of revenge and Husk laughing in the spider's face. But no, it actually turned out to be a comforting song that started their friendship. Husk literally had no motivation to want to help Angel, because he was annoyed by him all the time prior. If there was some kind of basis for their bonding, I would have believed it. But not like this.

And Angel had no reason to actually like that sort of comfort. I get it when your best friend or a family member cheers you up in a harsh way - you know them. And even when coming from people you trust that can hurt. Now imagine a complete stranger doing that to you. That's actually something that shouldn't be done - trying to playfully insult or jester a person you haven't communicated with for a long enough time to gain their trust. And to make this even more strange, Angel at first reacts negatively, but then suddenly snaps to liking that disrespectful way of comforting for no reason at all.

And why did Angel even vent his problems to Husk, a stranger bartender who he'd hurt before. Wasn't he actually afraid of being laughed at and of Husk using his trauma to spread gossip around or something?

Next, Sir Pentious. In the pilot (which is officially part of canon, mind you), he already felt like a joke sunday cartoon villain, but at least he had some edge to him that made him look like a sinner with some dark history. In the series however, he gets nerfed the very moment he steps into the hotel to the point where it's painful to look at

His tendency to abuse his henchmen, his physopathic demeanor, his hartred for Cherri (instead of embarrassing attempts to get blue balled by her), his sincere power hunger - where did all that go? Vanished in a blink of an eye. All that's left of a promising snake demon is a pile of fanservice. So morally unchallenging and harmless that a viewer theoretically simply cannot resist loving him

Well i'm kind disappointed. We don't even know in what way Sir Pentious had to improve, because the plot never focused on his past, his life goals, whatever made him want to lead turf wars and whatever awful things he did in life, what was the point where he started degrading... none of that. He just became a better person after one "sorry song" and acted perfectly innocent ever since and didnt put any effort into getting ready to sacrifice himself for other main characters

The sacrifice... to me it's baffling how fast the sinners, over the course of just 6 months, actually became Charlie's family figures and risked their lives for her hotel. Such pure child-cartoon-styled power of friendship, built in hell, with the aid of a princess who cant even think through her project of helping sinners without bringing them more trouble... realistically, Charlie would have had to fight angels alone (how convenient it is that no main characters died in that chaotic brawl, right?)

And Charlie herself is far too naiive and soft-natured for someone who is free to walk along the streets of hell looking at all the muder, rape and othe horrible stuff that's happening there. Given that she's 200, Charlie had more than enough time to built up her street smarts and guts and learn to be more practical and mindful, instead of staying with the mind of a 12 year old who needs other characters to do everything for her (Lucifer, Vaggie, Alastor) and then get praised for THEIR efforts. That's hell's royalty and our main character?

Aaand since sinners are portrayed as Charlie's "people" (as if they are a nationality), sweet babies who all deserve redemption and are called innocent by Emily (I can't believe how dumb the writers made angels be) - the true essence of exterminatons is never focused on. Adam and his exterminator army are seen in the wrong, like some kind of monsters who terrorize poor souls. However, think about this - child molesters, rapists, torturers, bullies, nazists, actual racists etc died in those exterminations. Doesnt that seem like something a lot of us would want? To have scum like this disappear as revenge for people they have hurt/driven to suicide?

Exterminations are not really an act of racism, bigotry or something like that. They are an excecution of criminals, which a lot of sinners are.

But the black and white writing is trying to conceal that rather prominent highlight of the rotten part of Charlie's plan (not all sinners deserve mercy or redemption). All that was needed was to make exterminators these icky "villains" who luuuv killing and are never willing to listen

All in all, a cartoon that has an ambitious premise that should be driven by psychological reasearch/analysis and dark serious themes... makes me roll my eyes with its cliche use of "power of friendship" and " strictly good main characters, strictly bad villains" tropes. Too bad such beautiful animation was wasted on such juvenile writing that never had any effort put into it

There shouldn't even be any villains or heroes in a setting like this. Allow the lead roles (sinners in hell) do something actually questionable and be unlikable, don't coddle the viewer in fear of making them even the slightest bit uncomfortable. Allow those, who opposes sinmers, have personalities and reasons, not cliche sociopathy for sociopathy's sake to cause forced sympathy for the main characters

Pristine "safe" writing should not have a place in adult cartoons. Or else they will stay a product that'd rather be watched by 7-14 year olds instead of adults (I can't picture a single adult over 22 who would unironically call hazbin hotel a show that tackles realistic issues in an observant way)

I really don't get why fans keep insisting Stolas' main flaw is "being insensitive" or "not being self aware"

the former implies that he's annoying others but not picking up on their cues indicating that's the case.

a character "being insensitive" would be something like what happens in that MLP episode, I think it's called All Bottled Up. Trixie accidentally loses something important to Starlight (I think it might've been the quest giving magic table? idk) and she's kind of flippant about it, so the two go around town together trying to get it back while Starlight uses a spell to bottle up all her feelings of anger towards her friend

when she finally does snap, Trixie says she had no idea - and it's believable because Starlight was bottling her anger up and most of the signs of it were small, like in facial expressions or occasional annoyance in her tone. Trixie was insensitive because she should have realized she did something bad that hurt her friend and didn't, then missed her annoyance with that fact because Starlight was literally hurting herself and then accidentally the townsfolk when the magic misfired trying to hide it.

that isn't the case with Stolas. In most Helluva episodes showcases his 'insensitivity' he has other characters either literally tell him what the problem is and what they don't like and what they want him to stop doing and he ignores it. That isn't being insensitive, that's ignoring other people's emotions because they get in the way of his fun and his needs. It's just selfishness.

Loo Loo Land is the most obvious contender here. Via literally says she'd rather kill herself than go to Loo Loo Land and that she isn't five anymore and Stolas just overrides her objections because he wants to plaster over the damage his cheating has done with a fun day out. Then he brings Blitz along and Blitz is even more forthright - he tries to set a very clear boundary that he's here to work (and repeats this multiple times) but Stolas ignores him every single time. This is just textbook sexual harassment, it's not 'being insensitive'. And no, Stolas stans, Stolas coercing Blitz into a sexual agreement the episode right before does not give him the right to do this.

Apology Tour is obviously the worst for this, since it's when Stolas escalates from ignoring everyone else's feelings to actively punishing Blitz for his. Also, it's hard to argue he's 'not being self aware enough at times' because that implies he doesn't realize how he comes off to other people. But Blitz literally told him at the end of last episode that he thinks of him as a pompous rich asshole. Stolas doesn't do anything to try to mitigate that behavior - if anything he turns it up to 1000% and gets pissy with Blitz for daring to point it out, causing Blitz to think of himself as 'being mean' since Stolas has gaslit and emotionally abused him so successfully he regrets even standing up for himself.

The "he's just socially unaware" excuse is wearing thinner with every episode, and at this point it should really be put out to pasture. Stolas has continued to behave the way he does even when characters are literally screaming in his face how his actions make them feel.

do you have any unpopular mlp opinions? (for the record, i mean more like 'i think applejack is the worst character in the show' not like anything serious, but any answer works)

I guess my unpopular one is that I don't think the show has a massive dip in quality? I've been having a blast and I'm almost done with Season 7 and I've had NUMEROUS people tell me that "this is where I dropped off because the show got so bad" and i've already watched it and thought it was fine. I guess its because I'm watching it all after it aired, but I really am not noticing any frequently bad episodes; unless its a Daring Do ep, at worst it's usually just "okay". And then there's so much stuff that I LOVE more past the first 2-to-3 seasons that I can't really see myself viewing there being a huge drop in quality. I fuckin love Starlight and all the fun adult friendship problems they start tackling! It might not be what people initially got into MLP for, but as An Adult Watching It In the 2020s, that style of storytelling is way more up my alley.

So um all the mlp infected au have been everywhere lately and they inspired me to make my own :D

*Note that these were descriptions on separate posts from my Instagram so if it flows weird, that’s why*

I’m calling this au My Little Beast and this is the beast virus. The beast virus is an alien virus that came down to Earth inside a space rock. Daring Do went to check it out and was bitten by a worm-like creature that was residing inside the rock. The worm creature promptly died and Daring Do was made into patient zero.

The virus spreads solely through the saliva of infected and, mysteriously, it ONLY infects ponies. The infection, after getting bitten, is a harsh and sudden transformation into a beast form that will vary depending on what species of pony the infected is. Infected acquire a ravenous appetite for meat and will kill anything that moves.

Infected ponies can no longer use their magic after being infected, hence the missing cutie marks (infected pegasi wings are big enough to fly without magic). Even though uninfected ponies can still use their magic after the outbreak, magic of any kind does not directly work on the infected. So survivors cannot use magic spells to fight infected.

I mentioned previously that the infection only infects ponies. This means animals, dragons, and any other non-pony creatures are practically immune if they are ever bitten. However, they are still at risk of getting mauled and eaten by infected ponies. Stabber venom will take effect on non-pony creatures.

You’re probably wondering why none of the infected forms I’ve drawn so far is wearing their typical clothing or accessories. Well, simple answer is they tear it off during transformation. Infected ponies hate the feeling of anything clinging on their bodies due to the rapid and drastic transformations occurring to their bodies.

I know Cadence typically gets infected in these infection aus, but I needed an alicorn sacrifice for the ref sheet (and Twilight is the one making these infected guides hint hint)😔

Shining Armor and Flurryheart do manage to escape infected Cadence but that’s a story for another post ;)

They absolutely hate fire! So long as it is not magical fire as anything magical in origin has no effect on infected ponies. If a survivor is looking for an easy distraction to get away from infected, it can be done two ways: always have a torch on hand or throw already dead corpses at infected. The infected ‘s blood thirst will have distracted by any kind of dead body, including the bodies of dead infected.

Comparing Arcane to ATLA is the stupidest thing ATLA fans have ever done. Arcane is everything ATLA wishes it could’ve been. And no, don’t say “ATLA walked so Arcane could run”. ATLA didn’t even crawl.

Arcane is a powerful story about classism, discrimination, the US two party system, (REALISTIC) violence and war, and so much more and you dare compare it to ATLA!? OF ALL SHOWS!?

ATLA could hardly scratch the surface of what Arcane achieved. It was created by two (misogynistic and racist) middle aged white men in 2005 who couldn’t stop self inserting on the main character to save their lives.

And no, I’m actually NOT biased! I was obsessed with ATLA long before Arcane. I’m just not delusional!!!

So please, stop pretending that ATLA is peak when it’s not. It never came close. Fucking MLP is better than ATLA.

The Princess Of Magic - An MLP: FIM screenplay

This is a very very old WIP. I was really obsessed with mlp audio dramas like friendship is tragic and remembrance and wanted to write one myself

General gist is that after boast busters, trixie wishes on a star and becomes an alicorn. Hijinks ensue

ACT 1, SCENE 1

The setting is a deep and sprawling forest, with various critters crawling about. We zoom in on a caravan, lavender in color with cerulean and wheat-yellow accents. A symbol is scattered throughout - azure stars with wands of the same color, spewing out pixie dust. We zoom even further and enter the caravan, seeing a mare - Trixie Lulamoon - with a royal blue coat and a silver mane with azureous streaks. She has hot pink eyes, lined with heavy magenta eyeshadow. She wears a white headscarf with light pink roses on it, alongside a golden gemstone pendant. The symbol on the caravan is imprinted upon her flank. She stares at her mirror, an angry look on her face.*

That.. stupid Twilight Sparkle! How dare she humiliate the Great and Powerful Trixie!

So what if she beat an Ursa Minor? Trixie could've done that as well!

Oh.. who is Trixie kidding? She's.. nothing more than a.. charlatan. A stage magician who knows nothing about real magic. Twilight outranks her in every possible way.

Maybe.. Maybe Mom was right. Maybe this was a useless endeavor.

[TRIXIE]

But..what does Trix- I do now? I dropped out of school a long time ago. And.. and I don't think they'll - or any other school for that matter - will take me back.

[TRIXIE, chuckling darkly]

One little mistake and everything came crashing down. Mom was right. This was a fruitless and unstable path for me to pursue.

Trixie walks over to a window, looking at the starry night sky. Piano music begins to play, sad and sorrowful as she looks at the full moon and twinkling stars. The music comes to a crescendo as a shooting star streaks across the sky. We cut to a shot in which the camera is outside the caravan, watching Trixie through the window. A single tear streaks down her right eyeye as the comet reflects in her eyes.*

[TRIXIE]

I.. I wish that I was powerful. Powerful enough to... To surpass even that T-Twilight Sparkle and to regain my reputation! I wish that I could live up to my name!

As the star leaves Trixie's field of vision, she stares at the sky expectantly and hopefully, a smile on her face. After a few moment, the smile fades and she sadly stares at the ground. The music slowly fades.*

[TRIXIE]

Tsk. Wishing on a star, Trixie? What did you think would happen? That you'd suddenly gain a huge amount of magic? Only naive foals think like that.

Sighing, Trixie lights up her horn, untying her headscarf with her magic and levitating it towards her vanity.*

[TRIXIE]

I'll just.. go to sleep. I'll figure everything out in the morning.

Trixie flops onto her bed, closing her eyes tightly as she attempts to get a good night's sleep.*

ACT 1, SCENE 2

We cut to a shot of a sunny day. Birds are chirping, the squirrels are skittering along the ground. We once again zoom into the caravan, slowly zooming onto a slumbering and drooling Trixie. Peaceful music plays in the background. Slowly, Trixie begins to wake up.*

[TRIXIE, groaning]

Wha.. what's on my back? And why does it hurt.. So.. much..

Trixie sits up, yawning as she stretches satisfyingly, her royal blue wings stretching with her.*

The music comes to an abrupt stop as Trixie's eyes snap wide open. She slowly looks towards her new wings, the same shocked expression never leaving her face.*

The camera zooms out of the caravan, the forest, and even Ponyville as Trixie's scream of bloody murder echoes throughout the entirety of Equestria.

his name is Murky Waters and i named him that because his color scheme is based off of his 5 million alligator themed cosmetics. anyways he is a hippogriff/seapony (they are the same thing and they transform into one another if you arent aware of the lore of the later seasons). thanks to @homkamiro for inspiring me with their own mlp au designs and making sniper a hippogriff, i am too dumb to think of that myself

ok so i would like to first clarify that in this au sniper's parents didnt kill off all of new zealand (or whatever pony equivalent) by being stupid because seaponies can breathe underwater. theyre just kinda cut off from the rest of the world because of it. kinda fits because g4 would never dare kill off any characters ever without reviving them shortly after.

other than that he has identity issues he needs to sort out, like he doesnt feel like he belongs in pony, hippogriff, or seapony society. he's pretty glad he gets to be around ponyville after the gravel wars n whatever, because hes more accepted despite being "different" thanks to twilight sparkle spreading the good word about the power of friendship. perhaps the two get to become besties, who knows

Now before anyone dares to come up to Me and ask Me a simple question that I'll answer easily...Yes, I'm a Pegasister. 

I remember when back in my hey-days of the Golden Age of the early 2010s, I was completely obsessed with My Little Pony (being that it was one of my actual first fandoms alongside with TAWoG), mostly around with The Fourth Generation (Friendship is Magic). However, somewhere in my Pre-Teens, I remember discovering its actual history being that it was actually popular around in the 80s as a Toyline. Also, another thing that I remembered the times that as a young kid who is still a Pegasister to this day, I used to watch some G3 Movies and even that G3.5 Movie, "Twinkle Wish Adventure".

I have been seeing the recent generation (G5) that has been streaming on Netflix lately (only a little bit but not too much since I actually stopped watching FiM after Season 4 a long time ago as a kid and it turns out I completely missed out on everything ever since I felt done with MLP for a long time). Now that my Pegasister energy has been coming back to Me lately, I have been recently on a binge-watch to the actual very first generation around in the 80s (because I live for Old-Decade Classic Fantasy Nostalgia), Generation One.

In the First Generation to MLP, there were actually Human Characters in it despite that the first show itself actually really did had some Dark Moments which G4 and 5 brought some aspects from but I never really considered the first version of MLP to be that "Girly-Girl" since there were a lot of Fantasy Franchises with its epic dark moments in kids media.

Especially for an interesting fact that the Main Ponies (most notably the Mane 6) were actually based off of the First Ponies around in the 80s (Posey was an Actual MLP Character and main inspiration for Fluttershy before Posey even became her own character in G5). And even some of the characters (Applejack, Spike, Tirek, and Grogar) were actually a thing around in the 80s despite not including a lot of other characters that G4 brought some of the G1 characters in (Bray, Hydia, Hydia's Daughters (Draggle and Reeka), Catrina, Squirk, Lavan, Arabus, Zeb, Night Shade, Moochick, The Grundels, ect.) and of course, my most favorite characters from the First Series despite one of them that did make a cameo in Equestria Girls...The William Kids (Danny, Megan, and Molly).

After seeing some much interpretation of how that the First Human Children looked if they were to appear in the G4 Style, it was my turn to shine as I figured why not to my personal take on Megan Williams and her Siblings if they were actual characters in "Friendship is Magic" rather than have one of them be some kind of cameo-joke in one of its Modern Spinoffs.

Flurry Heart's Story Season 1 complete!

Sorry I don't come by here to post that often, but I just wanted to let everyone know I finished the first season of my MLP fanfic series "Flurry Heart's Story!" I started this series in April 2020 and have done 13 episodes including one extra short interquel story called "They Can't Stay Encased in Stone Forever." I have never done anything nearly this dedicated for the MLP fandom and it feels great to have reached this milestone! I came up with some amazing concepts and characters along the way and even started a spinoff series called "My Little Sister is a Dragon" which runs alongside the official show. Elements Assemble - Tired of her boring life in the Crystal Empire, Flurry Heart is called to Ponyville. She quickly finds herself thrust into adventure as the townsfolk are threatened by a red, horned monster.

Cheesy as Pie - Flurry Heart and the Cake Twins help Cheese Sandwich get ready to propose to Pinkie Pie, but he starts to wonder if he can even do it right.

Calming of the Storm - Flurry Heart meets Rainbow Dash’s son, Storm Streak, but his daring, mischievous ways end up getting him into trouble.

INTERQUEL STORY: They Can't Stay Encased in Stone Forever - Tirek, Cozy Glow, and Chrysalis awaken to find they have been released from stone and narrowly escape Twilight's guards. They quickly begin plotting revenge, but can they come to an agreement on what to do next? (This takes place during the events of "Elements Assemble")

Let My Ponies Go! - While Flurry Heart and her friends are vacationing in Southern Equestria, they meet Somnambula who is studying clues leading to a mysterious temple where she finds an old friend.

Tirek vs Scorpan - Tirek returns to his homeland, the Midnight Kingdom, to get revenge on his brother King Scorpan. Meanwhile, Flurry Heart is called by the Cutie Map to deal with a friendship problem in the Midnight Kingdom.

Fillie Jean - Flurry Heart and Pumpkin Cake get a chance to meet their favorite pop-singer, Night Shade, but they soon realize he’s not as good of a pony as they expected.

Go North, Young Dragon - A familiar dragon arrives in Ponyville to give Spike some news that will change his life forever.

Oh, Mother, Where Art Thou? - The parents of young ponies across Equestria are mysteriously disappearing. A powerful being calling herself the “Sorceress” appears, claiming responsibility and must be stopped with the Elements of Harmony.

The Perfect Storm Streak - Storm Streak is mad that he cannot enjoy some of the rides at his favorite theme park due to his age, so he searches for a mysterious artifact that he believes can turn him into an adult.

My Big Fat Pink Wedding - Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich are preparing for their wedding, but not all is as it seems and Flurry Heart starts to wonder if there is another changeling invasion going on.

MLP SONG OF SHADOWS

midnight shade and the freshly revived sombra strode into the throne room of the crystal empire towards princess cadense, even outside there own kingdom they held such a presences all guards stood to attention. this had been weighing on the pair, sombra knew he had done wrong to these ponies and knew hed be brought to justice but twilight had argued his case and pertitioned for his case to be heard by cadence and shinning armour themselves and thus they where here.

cadence spoke with authority "sombra of the shadowponies, you are here to pleide your case and are charged with the enslavment of the crystal ponies, dark magic use and multiple counts of treason, speak your defence" midnight saw his brother brisstle, he knew there was still going to be trouble "your eminance" sombra began "i shall not pretend to be on some valiant quest, i was lost to the darkness of my heart and that led my actions, i sought revenge and in search of that i tore my way through more than was fair and for that i can only extend my appolagies"

the silence was palpable before cadence spoke again "appolagies? do you think that makes up for what you did? for the innocent lives you took with you assault the..." sombras bark cut off her words "THEY WERNT INNOCENT! HOW DARE YOU..." but it was midnight that silenced his brother "brother! calm shes too young, there all too young" sombra huffed and stamped his hoof, as shinning armour and cadence along with all present shared confused glances, before looking to midnight shade for information, he turned his gaze from the window and held a stern and cold glare towards the emblem of the crystal empire behind the princess "the empire is far from innocent cadence and it has taken much from us, but to tell that story i need to take you back, very far back".

"along time ago many many many years ago, when the empire was young and we co-excisted even after teneous conflict we found our path, untill the changlings where unearthed, they rose and battled us, turned us against each other but above all we fought, and one crystal wizard used our shadow magic and the magic of the changling hive to build a weopan a vicious weopan that raveged our number and purged the hive beneath the ice" shinning armour spoke breaking the cold raputure all the ponies where lost in "what sort of weopan?" midnights eyes where cold in a manner none had seen before "a plauge a corruptive plauge that twisted and corrupted are flesh, a weopan that the old queen of the crystal empire reportedly outlawed the use off after the destruction of the hive, and the signing of the black shard accords, now push forward to our life time my brother and i and our darling sister...ebony hollow" both brothers paused, sombra looking away but his restored wings exposing his tension before his brother continued "we were all happy, trade was even rife with out kingdoms we had bothed healed...course that was untill the day of broken shadows as we called it, the plague re-imerged in the hooves of crystal ponies spreading through our kingdom, our people melting and rotting alive, becoming lost and zombified your crystal ponies tried to keep it under control but they wernt lucky, they had enhanced it and now suffered for it, our sister tried to save them and became infected herself" cadences eyes widened and shinning armour swollowed hard but midnight wasnt done "she held on long even as suposedly your guards worked to keep it contained and pushed it back, they pushed it back to us, ebony worked tirelessly to make a cure a fix it took years, the weopan forgotten to your people but still strong among ours, she held on till the last day when she passed her work unfinished, and thus we grieved"

"we grieved as a nation, but we never forgot, we never forgave!" sombra looked to his brother, realisation hitting him of the rage his brother controled "we never forgave your kingdom or its people, the people who condemed us and took our beloved sister, but my brother's rage was worn on the outside so he rallied our forces, the people who never forgave and who wernt infected, while i sought to save my people, he sought power and revenge, thus his attack was launched and your kingdom forced us away, forcing us to delv into the shadow world to better quarenteen the plauge and the victems" nightshade was cold with a hint of vitreol on his tongue that even shocked sombra cadence was stunned her hoof raised as if to muffle a scream as shinning armour spoke "how..." "80 percent" midnight predicted his question and cadence went white and audible gasps sounded from the guards standing, sombra felt his heart sink "brother i didnt know..." nightshade didnt move his gaze "we took time to recover and still havent fully, for do remember princess you may have forgotten but many of us have yet to forgive, think of that before you pass judgment" midnight didnt stay for cadences verdict he strod out as calm as when he entered but the pure rage eminated across the room even as the door closed

cadence couldnt pass judgment she felt tainted and dirty having learned what she had, she aquited sombra and staggered to her husbands side, they walked out the throne room shadows of what they where when they entered and for the days remainder they remained away from every one, as they morned those they never knew and planed penanced for crimes that came before them

Months passed till the event of the grant assembly, a great gathering of ponies from all manner of kingdoms in canterlot, celestia smiled as did luna the hint of exhaustion already showing on there faces, if twilight and friends whernt here celestia might have snaped, twilight knew her teacher well enough to see the tension but she was a little distraced being a pony shield for fluttershy who was overwhelmed as the doorpony declaired "princess cadence and sir shinning armour of the crystal empire" twilight lit up to see her brother and her sister-in-law but upon seeing there faces her smile faded, they looked terrible, cadence seemed on the verge of tears and shinning armou had sleepless bags under his eyes, cadence approched and as celestia greeted her she simply wordlessly pressed her head into celestias chest her horn resting beside celestias neck, tia paused before the feintest sound of cadence's sobbing was heard, applejack broke the confusion "this 'er a new posh-like greetin' or she not doing great?" shinning armound sighed "we learned something during the attemped sentencing of sombra and..." the door pony announced again "prince midnight shade and prince sombra of the shadow lands" shinning armours eyes darted to the door to see the two dark ponies enter and begin to meet other dimplomats, rarety read the moment carefully but still spoke with uncertainty "a guess if i may that it involves those two?" shinning armour nodded slowly "we learned why sombra attacked, we learned the cause" luna scoffed "beause sombra had evil deep down of course "shinning simply shook his head, our empire once made a plague and later after its outlawing released an improved version on his people, it took there sister, pushing sombra to lead his attack, while his brother tended the empire...even as we drove them to the shadow lands...even as we killed 80 percent of there people"

it sunk in as each pony spoke spplejack first "h-hayseeds" rainbowdash who was over head spat out her drink and flutter shy squeeked, pinky deflated and rarety gasped hard enough her jaw droped, twilight let the information sink in "wait...thats...genocide" the princess sisters spoke last luna stunned but looking to her sister for guidence and celestia for the first time in years she was overwhelmed "i...they... goodness thats horrifying" cadence looked up "they hate us aunty they hate me!" applejack put a hoof to cadences side "oh suger cube im sure that aint true" celestia maneged a soft smile "applejacks right even with what has happened that wasnt you that was ponies in the past" luna frowned then steeled herself "i shall have words with them!" celestia blinked for a moment then moved to her sister letting shinning armour take cadence "no no no nooooo luna we both know your not the most tactful of us" luna scoffed "i have tact" celestia raised an eye brow "sister you struggle to even play chess without giving yourself away" luna went to protest but couldnt so celestia walked towards the shadow brothers

celestia stood aside as midnight shade finished his conversation then got his attention "i was speaking with cadence and learned of your history with the crystal empire " midnight shades smile faded "im sure you did tia and might i advice you choose your course of words carefully" tia nodded in understand "i simply wish to express my compasion as cadence feels you hate her and i know what its like to lose a sister" luna looked away and even sombra noticed midnight brisstle

"oh you do do you tia? ah yes when your sister was exiled! correct? when you sent her away ah yes very similer tia very similer now remind me where IS YOU SISTER TIA!" as his voice raise eyes turned to them and luna steped back even as celestia tried to muster a responce but midnight shade was unrelenting "GO AHEAD TIA REMIND ME! HOW SHES HERE! im sure you know how it feels to hold your sister as her flesh is turned against her, to have to check every morning that shes still breathing and im sure you know well the pain of being powerless to help untill she is gone so tell me again tia how you know what we felt! go ahead let me here it!" tia was stunned into silence it had been years since she had raced a verbal barating like that and not felt that she was still in the right, the party was silent its peace shattered as sombra places a hoof on his brother calming him "no tia we dont hate cadence, it wasnt her who hurt us it was the past people of her home dont think even many of them even survived till today most if not all of those who did what they did are gone, so now our pain is formless unfocused do with that as you wish, both brothers vanished into a swirl of shadows leaving the party in shock before slowly regaining life.
