I have too many random thoughts stuck in my drafts list, so I’m just gonna throw this one out there before it becomes totally irrelevant.

In ‘Elation’, Alya initially tells Marinette she’s going after the wrong boy (Cat instead of Adrien). Then Andre tells both Marinette and Cat that they’re with the wrong people.

These kids just need to be able to make their own decisions, already!!

The love dilemma surrounding Adrien ( Exaltation/Elation spoilers)

      In regards to Adrien, every one of their friends could clearly see that Marinette loved Adrien, except Adrien. However, as it turns out, there was a reason for Adrien's obliviousness.  Thanks to the events of “Determination”, Luka and Kagami give us some insight into Adrien’s love life. Luka explains that because Adrien is so kind and generous, he is constantly surrounded by people who show their love and affection for him and he in turn always tries to love everyone back, as a result, he is surrounded by a forest/jungle of love and couldn’t see Marinette's love for him.

       Despite so many people questioning his caring devotion to her as a clear sign of romantic interest, Adrien only ever assumed his caring nature towards Marinette was simply because he valued her as a good friend. In turn, Adrien only ever assumed anything Marinette said or did, which clearly expressed her love for him, was just a sign that she was being a good friend. No matter what it was, he just couldn’t see that love clearly.

       Adrien had always expressed interest towards Marinette throughout the seasons, however,  it wasn't until after the events of “Risk” and “Strike back” did he finally realize that Marinette would always be there to help him when no one else could, especially in regards to standing up to his father.  Even after clearly expressing his love for her in “Determination”, Kagami reveals that Adrien just couldn’t understand that what he felt were feelings of love and not friendship, which makes sense given his sheltered life prevented him from understanding more complex emotions. His main priority at the start of the seasons, as just Adrien, was just to make friends, while being Cat Noir allowed him to explore his romantic feelings for Ladybug, without anyone knowing who he was, but through what little advise he knew from reading manga and Anime.

    Thanks to Kagami’s intervention, Adrien decided to finally devote some time to sort through his feelings by going to the one place he felt his feelings for Marinette change the strongest, the Wax Museum where Marinette thought he was a wax statue and nearly kissed him. The events which transpired throughout “Determination” helped him come to the realization that his feelings really were love and was now ready to fully give into them.

     However, in regards towards his love for Ladybug, he faced a similar dilemma as when she decided to avoid/give up on her feelings for his civilian self (more in depth here). 

    Cat Noir understood Ladybug was in love with someone else, he understood she wanted him to restrict his overly affectionate ways towards her and focus on being the teammate she needed, he understood that even if he was with someone like Kagami, he could never give up on Ladybug no matter how many times she turned him down, he loved her to much. However, it wasn't until the events of “Jubilation, did he realize just what his love for Ladybug could make him do. The power of the Pig revealed to him everything he could ever hope for, and more, if he were to live a life with Ladybug, but the moment all that was stripped away, Cat Noir became enraged and was even willing to do the one thing he never morally dared to do with his power, he was willing to cataclysm someone like Darker Owl for toying with his love for Ladybug, regardless of him being a victim to Monarch. 

    Knowing now that his love for Ladybug could be used to hurt him and make him hurt others, Cat Noir reveals in “Elation/Exaltation” how he could not bare to carry those feelings anymore, not only because he continued to fail in pursuing Ladybug, but because he now knew his love could take control of him and make him act in terrible ways . The events of “Jubilation” lead Cat Noir to realize that he needed to avoid/give up on his love for Ladybug, where as those same events made Ladybug realize her love for Cat Noir.

   The moment he found his love for Marinette in that big jungle/forest of love Luka said he was in, was the moment he decided its better for him and Ladybug to prioritize their friendship and leave her be to find love with someone else, rather than risk turning into someone they would both fear.

       Of course, regardless of him saying he no longer loves Ladybug(like how she say’s she no longer loves Adrien), his love for her is not gone, however, given everything that’s happened, it is now his love for Ladybug that has been thrown into that jungle/forest of his, resulting in him being unable to notice Ladybugs affection for him no mater what she does or says, which is the exact same situation he was in with Marinette.

     How he will find his love for Ladybug again is anyone's guess, however, back in “Oblivio”,  Monarch knew he could take advantage of Ladybug and Cat Noir’s love for each other if they ever came to realize it again, because of this, we know the two of them can not, under any circumstances, express their love and affection for each other and for others when they are in hero form, why?, because Monarch will not hesitate to try and use that love and affection against them.

Ok but LADRIEN AS FRIENDS is just the perfect thing now, hear me out: Marinette likes hanging out with Adrien (and she seems to be able to talk to him more easily now, EXCEPT when he’s openly declaring his love for her), but she gets nervous and runs away when he seems to be hinting about his feelings for her. SO she can visit him as Ladybug! And Adrien has “transferred” his feelings to Marinette, so he can focus on friendship with Ladybug now!! And we all know they both need friends right now 🥺

so they can be friends and hang out and watch movies and talk about feelings and school and maybe snuggle and maybe kiss eventually who knows not me it could happen maybe idk
