Disney made a 2D animated adaptation of Annie the Musical. However, in this adaptation, Annie was a stray dog (I think she was an Irish Setter?). There were some slight alterations, like Miss Hannigan running a animal shelter and Sandy the dog becoming a major character as Annie’s best friend/adoptive brother, but the story was mostly similar to the original musical.

Annie, but the only character who's actually played by a little girl is Miss Hannigan.

Being 22 is thinking you'd grow up to be Grace from Annie (1982) when in reality you're just Miss Hannigan but with less orphans around you

So I was listening to the song "Little Girls" from "Annie" (2014) and all of a sudden I came to the realization that Mr. D would have a love/hate relationship with the Annie movies (the one from 2014 and 1982).
As a joke Percy convicted everyone at camp to buy Annie (1982) DVDs to mess with Mr. D and it has been going for the longest time that Mr. D just gave in so that the campers can't bother him with it anymore.
And it worked until 2014 rolled around and once it came out on DVD the tournament began once more.
(mr. D won't admit that he loves the song Little Girls from Annie but he feels like he is 2014 Miss Hannigan but the campers think that he is 1982 miss Hannigan but he's a good mix of both leaning more towards 1982)

I’m not saying Miss Hannigan was right, I’m just saying being the only adult responsible for 30+ little rugrats 24/7  would drive me to drink too

I decided to draw the cast of characters from one of my favorite musicals I've loved since I was little, Annie.
Honestly I think the musical would be as an animated film. I grew up with both the 1982 and 1999 film adaptations and I love them both dearly but to me the 1982 version will always be the quintessential film adaptation.

No but the second season of Shmigadoon! really did remind me of my childhood obsession with Miss Hannigan. Just like the first season reminded me of my love for Elsa von Schraeder. If the Parent Trap was a musical I would be expecting Meredith Blake to pop up in the third season just to complete my lesbian kid crush trifecta.

Ballroom is one of my favourite underrated musicals. It only ran 116 performances, perhaps slightly out of step with the style of the times - it premiered in 1978, the era of the rock opera, and when the hottest film musical around was Grease. Ballroom is more old fashioned than that, but it has a gorgeous score and a heartbreaking story - a widow who finds love again, only to find that she has been strung along just as she has come out of her shell.

Dorothy Loudon played the lead - a wonderful actor who played in Follies, and who originated (and won a Tony for) the role of Miss Hannigan in Annie. This is the song that has really survived - Fifty Percent, the eleven o'clock number, a fantastic torch song. I would love to see the show revived, though I suspect it's unlikely, but it's great in the meantime to see that this song has become a classic. Written by Alan and Marilyn Bergman, the latter who died a couple of years ago, the couple best known perhaps for writing The Way We Were. That's a wonderful song, but Fifty Percent is every bit as good.
