Disney made a 2D animated adaptation of Annie the Musical. However, in this adaptation, Annie was a stray dog (I think she was an Irish Setter?). There were some slight alterations, like Miss Hannigan running a animal shelter and Sandy the dog becoming a major character as Annie’s best friend/adoptive brother, but the story was mostly similar to the original musical.

Annie, but the only character who's actually played by a little girl is Miss Hannigan.

So I was listening to the song "Little Girls" from "Annie" (2014) and all of a sudden I came to the realization that Mr. D would have a love/hate relationship with the Annie movies (the one from 2014 and 1982).
As a joke Percy convicted everyone at camp to buy Annie (1982) DVDs to mess with Mr. D and it has been going for the longest time that Mr. D just gave in so that the campers can't bother him with it anymore.
And it worked until 2014 rolled around and once it came out on DVD the tournament began once more.
(mr. D won't admit that he loves the song Little Girls from Annie but he feels like he is 2014 Miss Hannigan but the campers think that he is 1982 miss Hannigan but he's a good mix of both leaning more towards 1982)

CAROL BURNETT
CAROL BURNETT
26 April 1933, aged 90
Carol Burnett is an American comedian, singer and actress who has worked on both stage and screen. She had her own TV program The Carol Burnett Show 1967–1978. Burnett is also best known for playing Miss Hannigan (Miss Agatha ‘Aggy’ Hannigan) in the film Annie (1982). The role was supposed to go to Bette Midler, and as much as we admire Midler; we are fortunate that Burnett gained the role because it is one of her best performances. Burnett has also appeared in: Toy Story 4 (2019), The Twilight Zone (1963), Calamity Jane (1963), The Lucy Show (1966-67), Get Smart (1967), here’s Lucy (1969-71), Sesame Street (1969-71, 74), The Sonny & Cher Show (1976), The Muppet Show (1980), The Tale of Peter Rabbit (1991), Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? (2021) & Trolls: Holiday in Harmony (2021).
Burnett was born in San Antonio, Texas, her mother was a publicity writer for movie studios and her father was a movie theatre director. She moved to an impoverished area of Hollywood to live with her grandmother who was a trained musician and took her to the movies which influenced her career. After school graduation she planned to study journalism but instead decided to go with arts and English instead, as she wanted to become a playwright. She started taking acting courses and performing in university productions which led to her career in acting, comedy, and singing.
Burnett has been married three times and has three children. Her daughter Carrie sadly died in 2002 aged 38 from pneumonia as a complication of lung and brain cancer.
She was close friends with Lucille Ball, Julie Andrews and Betty White. Burnett has written three memoirs, This Time Together (2010), Carrie and Me (2014) and In Such Good Company (2016).

I’m not saying Miss Hannigan was right, I’m just saying being the only adult responsible for 30+ little rugrats 24/7  would drive me to drink too

debatably cursed au
Okay okay okay. AU idea: bttf and annie (yes, the musical). Allow me to elaborate (sorry if it’s really incoherent, I’m quite sick-brained atm)
Marty is an orphan staying at Mr. Strickland’s Orphan House (basically Strickland is Miss. Hannigan)
He goes back in time to see his parents and meets Doc (Doc would be like Daddy Warbucks or whatever his name is)
and Marty screws with time continuum and his existence and Doc helps out (normal movie)
But when Marty goes back to his current timeline, Doc ends up adopting him because of how much they’ve gotten to know each other.
Bonus:
Marty meets Einstein the same way Annie meets Sandy. Do with this idea what you will. i dont even know how this idea came to me but it did

I decided to draw the cast of characters from one of my favorite musicals I've loved since I was little, Annie.
Honestly I think the musical would be as an animated film. I grew up with both the 1982 and 1999 film adaptations and I love them both dearly but to me the 1982 version will always be the quintessential film adaptation.

No but the second season of Shmigadoon! really did remind me of my childhood obsession with Miss Hannigan. Just like the first season reminded me of my love for Elsa von Schraeder. If the Parent Trap was a musical I would be expecting Meredith Blake to pop up in the third season just to complete my lesbian kid crush trifecta.

Ballroom is one of my favourite underrated musicals. It only ran 116 performances, perhaps slightly out of step with the style of the times - it premiered in 1978, the era of the rock opera, and when the hottest film musical around was Grease. Ballroom is more old fashioned than that, but it has a gorgeous score and a heartbreaking story - a widow who finds love again, only to find that she has been strung along just as she has come out of her shell.
youtube
Dorothy Loudon played the lead - a wonderful actor who played in Follies, and who originated (and won a Tony for) the role of Miss Hannigan in Annie. This is the song that has really survived - Fifty Percent, the eleven o'clock number, a fantastic torch song. I would love to see the show revived, though I suspect it's unlikely, but it's great in the meantime to see that this song has become a classic. Written by Alan and Marilyn Bergman, the latter who died a couple of years ago, the couple best known perhaps for writing The Way We Were. That's a wonderful song, but Fifty Percent is every bit as good.

Did JK Rowling get one of her favorite lines from Annie?
When miss Hannigan is getting arrested she ask Annie to tell the officers how nice she’s been and Annie responds saying she was taught not to tell lies (earlier Miss Hannigin mentions not teaching her to lie) sounds familiar doesn’t?
