Thank fuck I was sick yesterday at the bar and went home early because my coworker this morning in shift told me the friend of another coworker that came by was saying some transphobic shit about his flatmate and I swear to fuck I would've puked on him

got a speakers/subwoofer set from my roommate who is one of those hi-fi enthusiasts with wild standards and equipment. he sold his best amp recently for a shitload of money. this stuff is just spare tertiary-tier crap he had sitting around and it’s fucking fantastic by my lights

the thing is controllable by bluetooth from pc or phone, which is fine

my question is when did local music files stop being a thing? maybe (definitely) i’m old, but i have 375 GB of music files i’m not gonna just throw away for the sake of a nice simple spotify or whatever cloud-mediated experience

it took like two hours of googlefumbling (including a phase of seriously considering resurrecting an old QNAP NAS system of R’s) for it to dawn upon me that i don’t have to move the music onto my phone or some fancy new device in lieu of phone, i can play it from the fucking laptop. that’s good, because, for some reason, “put mp3 file on iphone” is a completely infeasible motherfucking ask in 2024!

(it is a minor inconvenience moving the laptop around all the time, but that’s why it’s a laptop and not a desktop)

next problem is mp3 player apps for the laptop, which mostly don’t seem to be able to recognize and work with a library of local files consisting of simple fucking nested folders on a computer (you know — music / artist / album or named misc collection / song.mp3 files) such that i can be like “play this whole album from start to finish.” which is only the number one ask i’m likely to have of the system??? i don’t Want to have to play songs individually, manually, every song. for some music this is horribly disruptive! but windows media player appears to demand i do that!

i’m trying another app now that seems reasonably promising qua interface but it’s still cataloguing the music library, which seems like a huge undertaking roughly equivalent to downloading all the material. i played like three songs very early in the process (patience is not my forte) to see how they’d sound on the awesome speakers and two of them were noticeably garbled; hoping the process is such that those files were incomplete at the time and that it’ll all work properly once the thing gets done onboarding itself 💀

i would have thought that by 2024 personal tech would be easier to wrangle tbqfh but it all seems to have gotten substantially worse instead of better since the iPod era

Heya, pals!! :D Since Super Mario has now been demoted to a minor hyperfixation in replacement of Ace Attorney, I'm gonna post some Luigi headcanons that have been GNAWING on my mind for the past 3 years I've had this hyperfixation. Without further ado, LETSA GO!!! :3 (btw heres credits to the dividers i used here.)

Appearance ⭐:

I don't usually give appearance headcanons, but as you have seen in a few posts of mine, I gave him freckles! Not sure why tho, I just feel like it would suit Luigi.

I got inspired by a crap ton of long-haired Luigi (and by proxy, Mr. L) headcanons and fanart so that's one more to add to my list of headcanons.

As for markings, I headcanon him to have a lot of scars. Specifically on his arms, ranging from his fingertips to his elbows from using his thunderhand ability, being REALLY clumsy, and other stuff I won't mention. There are a few more scars on his legs and torso from either work-related accidents, or accidentally getting scratched up in adventures with Mario. (also top surgery scars but i'll explain that later shush)

Hobbies 🖌️:

A portion of Luigi's hobbies came from him trying to be just like brother, Mario, but Luigi is his own person too, so he has many hobbies to call his own. Just like many other fellas in the Mario community, the Luigi in my AU LOVES engineering (specifically mechanical engineering). Besides that, I think he would love baking with Princess Peach!

I feel like he's the better cook between him and his brother, so in their spare time, he teaches Mario how to cook! Yeah, sometimes the food comes out a tiinnnnyy bit burnt, but hey! At least Mario tried his best! Of course, Luigi knows that, so he gives a tiny pat on Mario's back for not completely burning the food into a crisp.

His other favorite thing to do with Mario is to play videogames!

I often find Luigi to be more ambiverted, (or maybe extroverted but very socially awkward??? idk just me projecting tho lolz qwq) however HEAVILY leaning on to the introverted side.

From what I've seen he is a HUGE sweetie pie, even if he canonically gets shitted on by like, 80% of the Mario NPCs.

So yeah, thats it for personality I guess... QwQ

Music 🎧:

I feel like since some of the fandom represents him as a hopeless romantic, he enjoys listening to love songs the most.

For some reason, I headcanon him listening to love songs that blink-182 makes lol. (to be specific, this song. its a total banger pls listen to it!!)

Personally, I HC him to be autistic and have GAD (or generalized anxiety disorder.) I got this headcanon from watching this video a long time ago, and it just clicked. Something about that man screamed "AUTISM!!!" to me. Idk why.

Now time for sexuality hcs!! For me, I headcanon him as demiromantic bisexual. The vibes just... feel right to me. I also headcanon him being a trans man!! Again, for the reason of the vibes feeling right.

i feel like he claps funny. like hes clapping but its that specific way thats meant to be like quieter? like clapping on the palm of his hand. this might be projection but i feel like hes also the type of person to do like a little clap or a spin or his trademark ridiculous giggle whenever hes happy.

i think that hes prone to dramatics like. like pretending to fall on the floor and die if you say hes actually not on your mind 24/7. oh whats that? you dont think im the prettiest princess in the entire world? well astarion has dramatically fallen to the floor

in the early game astarion most definitely practiced his lines loudly and publicly (in camp). he cant even see himself in the mirror but hes trying to look all suave and being like "shall i compare thee to a summers night" while lae'zel and shadowheart both shout "NO" from across the camp. (can be interpreted as bloodiedblade/wyllstarion but i think wyll would be amused and even finish the quote).

wyll:

this man is probably good with basic medicines and ill die on this hill. hes got aloe vera type shit on him at all times. sure, hes not a cleric or healer or even a bard, but he'll stay with you and try his damned best to cheer you up when youre hurt or sick.

on a related note i feel like wyll would be absolutely DELIGHTED by a bard tav. he would just be so amused and filled with whimsy. never gonna complain about playing, even if its like 2am. just occasionally putting in song requests. hes so incredibly enthusiastic like spinning tav around like "THAT WAS BRILLIANT!!!"

wyll probably keeps houseplants. (minor blazingblade but i feel like karlach would accidentally kill one of the plants and actually begin weeping. once she gets her engine fixed wyll tries to teach her how to garden. this goes weirdly) furthermore i think he like goes around his house like humming merrily and watering his plants and crap

gale:

i dont think hes coordinated at all. like this man is tripping down the stairs on a daily basis. he is dropping his tea, his book, his body, ect. to the point that hes got a habit of just hugging the railing for dear life every time he has to go down a staircase. this made traversing shit like the underdark actually literally horrible. every time he falls karlach is so overly concerned and probably offers to carry him. astarion, to everyones dismay, dies laughing each and every time

pretty sure wyll and shadowheart have a conversation about weird book porn. i am here to say that gale was holding back his power while that conversation happened. gale has read so much book porn and if you knew the real scale of it you would be concerned. tara is concerned at least.

shadowheart:

especially during early game, i feel like shadowheart was literally clenching so hard to avoid admitting cute things were cute. like "oh.. a stray mutt... charming I MEAN IN LIKE A GROSS WAY". she was trying to hard to be all scary and into shar and shit but she just really likes puppies and other animals and crap

if she were modern i feel like she would really like pixar movies (inside out comes to mind for reasons i cannot explain) and wear long jean skirts. i cant explain any of this but it is fact in my mind. even in the bg3 setting i do feel like she would wear very long boxy type skirts. sort of plays into her whole "dark priestess" sort of vibe

shadowheart was sitting in her tent with scissors fucking losing her shit with anxiety trying to cut her own bangs without a mirror. it is a literal miracle from selune that they dont look like complete and total shit. no wonder halsin was surprised. (minor silverheart/shadow'zel: when she first like actually properly noticed what shaodwheart did with her hair, since the initial joke is she cant tell what changed, i think lae'zel was very impressed. she even likened it to like a sort of war paint against shar. also we KNOW lae'zel likes silver)

(can be interpreted as bladeheart/,,, do wyll and shadowheart have a ship name yet? HM. well anyway i think that in conjunction with the previous headcanon about wyll gardening, he and shadowheart garden together and he specially grew her night orchids)

ever since i looked at her stupid little mindflayer training dummie in camp ive had the image of her in my head very angrily and intensly carving up a turnip to look like a mindflayer. draws a little mean face on it like the worlds most violent six year old. every time she messes up on her little DIY project shes muttering curses in tir'su.

lae'zel will take any opportunity to infodump about githyanki culture. specifically red dragons. if she met a red dragonborn or even maybe a follower of tiamat or some shit she would be so hype. in her "i hate everyone SVAH" way ofc. but like. trying to casually slide trivia into battle conversation or party banter with all the subtlety of an owlbear. "yes... the battle preparations are proceeding as expected... as expected a red dragons hibernation cycle..." and everyone just has to turn their head and ask what the fuck shes talking abt

no one hears lae'zel laugh but when they do its so weird. like its some weird like hissing sort of sound and everyone has to do a double take and make sure theyre understanding what the fuck is going on for a second. lae'zel is incredibly defensive when people notice it but theyre not trying to be mean

karlach:

before her engine gets fixed but like early on to where shes not used to it, karlach keeps trying to touch things and keeps breaking them. this fills her with genuine despair and she will start crying (everyone in camp has to go on a group effort to calm her down). she just thinks the world is so beautiful and is so sad she cant interact with it

she likes to dance but in like a boot stompin way. karlach is probably just an absolute party animal when she gets her freedom back because honestly in her situation who wouldnt be. SHE JUST GOT TO NOT BE ON FIRE LET THE GIRL PARTY

once shes been fixed to the point where she can touch people, she just never stops. manhandling everyone in the party constantly. oh whats that? tav is on low health? dont worry karlach is sprinting over to put tav on her shoulder. literally any problem can be solved by karlach hugs and i wont be taking feedback on this

Quick Backstory ! (minor neglect tw)

Early childhood is one big, chaotic blur for Marcela. Maybe she's lucky that way, barely able to remember the unfit home she spent her first few years in or the memory of the social worker collecting her. What she does remember clearly is getting welcomed into the Everly family with opened arms. She lost a family who didn't seem all too interested in fighting for her, so what? She gained loving parents, a big brother, and sisters in the exchange.

It should've been a comfort, knowing this family chose her, but she couldn't shake the feeling that maybe they would change their minds. To be clear, it wasn't anything they did that made her feel this way, it was more just the fear that it would happen again. The fear didn't manifest in her trying to be some picture perfect daughter or chase her to the other extreme, instead, it just left her lost.

She made her way through life, feeling no real sense of direction and this growing void in her chest that she filled with meaningless and fleeting connections. Maybe these were things that everyone grappled with? Feeling lost in the transition from childhood to adulthood was perfectly normal, right?

Well, that feeling hasn't gone away. Stuck in Palmview (or maybe just too scared to leave the people she knows love her), Marcela is now working a sales job at Retro Roots, hoping for some sort of sign from the universe to jump out at her and let her know what she's supposed to be doing with her life.

The type of person to use humor to cover any serious emotions or problems until she literally can't anymore and breaks down(not ideal to her, she would prefer to continue to deflect with humor).

Lowkey a little awkward, especially when her jokes or snark doesn't land with the person she's speaking with. It doesn't seem to really bother her.

Genuinely loves the people in her life, but can honestly be a bit self-sabotage-y in romantic and platonic relationships. She's far from perfect and has definitely caused some damage in her relationships.

After-all they don't need a new agent, especially one with a file so classified they can't see anything but the agent's name in it. But Strauss's orders are Strauss's orders. It would help if this Daisy would stop taking stupid risks and acting like she's bored. Of course Daisy really is bored and isn't exactly allowed to mention that after fighting aliens, Inhumans, and Hydra, dealing with regular serial killers is kind of low stakes.

TLDR: i will be a bit busy this week!!!!! not entirely unavailable but i wont be able to stay up as long

ermm what! so i have preparation day tomorrow (tuesday), and the 2 days after that i have exams. this is kind of a big deal for me because ive never had exams before ? also according to my teacher, we're having exams for the sole purpose of stressing the students out.

and i AM pretty stressed out! i also have other misc personal stuff i need to sort out before the end of the school year which adds abit more stress AND oh my god. im yapping too much

the point is , i want to TRY to be a bit more responsible and at least use my time wisely before the exams, which of course means, i wont be able to stay up till 2 am in my timezone and answer asks. .. not that i was getting too much in fact i love all the asks and when i get one i get veryyy happy! its jsut kinda silly that the timezones are set up in such a way that everyone HAPPENS to be awake when im supposedto be asleep ;w;

anyway tbh im just complaining and reflecting a bit over stuff here . um , my brain desperately latched onto the animaticverse cuz it brought me comfort and now im obsessed with it to a slightly unhealthy degree...

Evay QA Bulk Post 1

I’m working through my inbox but don’t want to drown y’all’s feed in my asks so I’m grouping as many together as I can. Q&A below:

MISC SONIC ASKS

Thank you so very much! I was trying to really combine both Amy and Sonic’s aesthetics. Amy is classy and design oriented so I wanted to keep that feel, but I wanted to show how their home would evolve once she and Sonic start living together. Sonic’s never canonically had a house, but he travels so much that I headcanon that he’s constantly collecting trinkets and souvenirs from all the places he’s visited. So I wanted to give them a very “worldly” design style. If you’re familiar with Uncharted 4, I picture Sonic and Amy’s house being very much like Nate and Elena’s beach house.

I love interior design and architecture but I’m not great at drawing it (yet). Once I improve I want to do a full layout of their house for my stories (and the future Shadora Fortress).

I really enjoyed the movies and I’m excited for the third! I hope they give Shadow a voice that’s deep and delicious and doesn’t sound like a sniveling villain. I don’t like it when they cast him with a very generic evil voice, I prefer it when he’s got depth. Honestly I’d be happy if they stuck with Ian Hanlin, he’s perfect to me. 

For the record, I absolutely love that game. Some of my favorite memories involve me and my best friend playing it. He ABSOLUTELY is an avid gun collector. I love seeing the memes of Shadow just rambling off about gun details. BUT HE KEEPS THAT CRAP LOCKED UP IN A SAFE AND UNLOADED AT ALL TIMES!!!!

At least for my stories he isn’t one to actually threaten to harm anybody for wanting to date his kids. He dealt with that enough trying to be with Aurora. But you can bet he won’t think anybody’s worthy to date his kids lol

First of all, I am ALWAYS down for Sonic singing his feelings. Like that is my #1 favorite thing in every story. Whenever he breaks out the guitar/lute I’m like “HELL YEAH LET’S DO THIS”

Secondly, that SONG omg!!! I’d never heard it before but wow 😭 I couldn’t love it more. I completely agree and thank you so much for sharing with me!

That is so funny that you say that. It was not my intention to make human Sonic look like RCS but honestly he is my favorite Sonic at this point so maybe it came out subliminally! Also I think Roger is just so damn handsome so I will take that as a compliment lol!

I do ship them but I don’t know about them having kids. I don’t really know those characters well enough to write family members for them and I wouldn’t want to do it wrong. Thank you!

I’m fine with any of your ships as long as it’s not with relatives. And as long as you keep my characters “in character” then that’s fine. 

Interesting! 🤔 I haven’t heard that pairing before but hey I’m certainly not going to tell you that you can’t ship them together. 

I loved Amy the minute I saw her so just from a superficial level I was like “These two are too cute together!” But I really fell in love with them when their story evolved and we got to see their dynamism in the games outside of just a cute little pink sprite in Sonic CD. And Sonic X really sealed the deal haha So many romantic moments between them in that show, God bless. 

Sonic and Amy were just making out, not anything more. Orbot and Cubot aren’t accustomed to seeing that so that’s why they reacted that way. 

I don’t have any plans on that at the moment. I like that universe and I especially loved how Sonic acted around her in it, but idk if I’ll make a comic about it. But I can never say never!

PERSONAL ASKS

I’m sorry to have worried you, but honestly I was okay while I was away. I went through a lot of major life events and I had lost my drawing mojo and was fighting to get it back. But now it’s back with a vengeance!

I plan on doing both. I know several amazing parents who do a wonderful job raising their kids and still follow their passion.

Thank you so much! I’m self-taught, but I’ve researched a lot of tutorials and references to help me improve over my life. The number one thing people need to study if they want to do comics or animations or anything is ANATOMY! You don’t have to take an anatomy class (I didn’t), but look up references and tutorials to learn how the spine works, how the muscles work, proportions, etc. Even if your characters don’t fall into the typical human form, you still need to understand skeletal structure and muscles. 

I’m not an avid listener but I do like some if her songs :)

AURORA ASKS

Thank you! Yes that’s pretty accurate. Their family is all about honesty and telling the truth, but younger Aurora doesn’t like to share all the details with Sonic because he’s so reactive with her and will quickly try to fix whatever the problem is and Aurora wants to learn to fix it herself. Amy is more willing to just listen to Aurora and offer advice if Aurora asks for it. Amy WANTS to beat up whoever is upsetting her daughter but she also knows the importance of learning how to fight for yourself so she wants Aurora to feel empowered to do that. 

Thank you! I hope you’re having a great day too! I think Amy is better at TALKING through feelings and Sonic’s better at the overall cheering up way of handling things. So as long as there’s nothing terribly awful bothering Aurora and she’s just feeling a little down, he’ll find ways to make her laugh. Sometimes that means walking in unexpectedly in a costume to shock her or dragging her out of the room to have a musical jam session together. 

Sonic’s also known to give people flowers when they’re sad in canon (he does this regularly in the games and in Sonic X), so he’ll bring her bright, colorful flowers to make her smile. 

In my AU, Eggman has already kind of peaked by the time of Boom!Baby. He’s softened a lot and isn’t interested so much in world domination as he just wants attention lol. Having Sage and becoming a father further helped me justify that with my AU. 

He's also particularly sentimental towards Aurora since he helped deliver her, so he doesn’t really fight the team anymore. He is more like a constant pain in their sides mucking things up. 

Sonic team is busy fighting other, newer foes in my AU.

Their biggest challenge is going to be the Time Travel comic that I haven’t completed yet. It’s hardest because not only will lives be put on the line, but it also touches on trust and when to let go. I’m sorry I can’t give you a more detailed answer yet but I don’t want to spoil the plot! And thank you so much! 

MISC ASKS RELATED TO MY AU

Yes I just need to draw them. There are so many dang Sonic characters hahaha

It’s VERY important to Aurora for her parents to give their blessing, so Shadow will honor that and ask them for it. I already know how and when he’s going to do it, but I can’t spoil it for you yet! 😉

They’ve had three litters. I headcanon that back in the day hedgehogs used to have litters (2 or more kids) all the time but that became less and less common in modern day. But I also headcanon that as the Ultimate Lifeform, Shadow was engineered to be able to… multiply effectively. So even though they’ve only been pregnant 3 times, they keep having triplets or twins. 

I do consider the First Kiss comic canon to my AU. But it happened a while before My Gal, maybe like a year or so before. Give them time to stew on that kiss hehehe

They just wanted to make a life change. The stars just happened to align at the same time haha

All the kids’ names are supposed to be based on their personalities or powers. Most Sonic characters are named that way, so I don’t know if it’s canon for Mobian parents to sense what their kid’s powers will be or not. Aurora has dreams that sometimes give her premonitions so she had inklings to what their kids might be like so she and Shadow could brainstorm ideas based on that. Also a lot of their names are outer-space-related or at least outer-space-adjacent and that was because Shadow’s a space man lol So he had influence in that. 

Sonic wants all his descendants named Sonic II so he’s no help lol.

There are 3 litters. The first litter has the triplets Piper, Zane and Nova. The second litter was born almost a year and a half later and has the twins Aster and Blitz. The third litter was immediately after and that has the triplets Cinder, Diamond and Boon. All this information is listed in their character reference post. 

In the beginning the family mostly just stuck to ordering online and getting home deliveries lol. But if they do have to do a grocery store run it’s a full family event. The kids all ride on Shadow (see this post). Their house has two fridges to accommodate for all the mouths to feed!

Their life certainly isn’t boring anymore 😂 It’s exhausting but they’re happy (also there are 8 kids haha!)

Aurora definitely would have asked him about this, but at least in my stories Sonic became an orphan at a young age and I don’t have him with any siblings. 

I’ve had another person ask me who I picture Sonic’s parents as and I do plan on drawing a reference of them, but they’ll be unique to my stories. They won’t be from any other Sonic media. 

I don’t draw Aleena, Manic and Sonia because of a couple reasons. I never watched Sonic Underground so I don’t have the allegiance/nostalgia that a lot of people have to that show. Also for my own preference, I don’t like the idea of Sonic being born to royalty. It doesn’t suit him, in my opinion. That doesn’t mean I don’t respect people who have that as a part of their canon and it doesn’t mean I have any bad feelings towards the Underground characters. I just don’t draw them. I grew up on the games and later Sonic X and Sonic Boom so my stories revolve around what I know. 

It’s funny that you mention that ship because I only just learned about it from Starrjoy’s P!AU comic. Again I didn’t watch Sonic Underground so I don’t know who Bernadette is, but sure I’m down for Sonic having two moms. Families come in all shapes and sizes, so as long as they’re a loving parent or parents then I support it. 

They love all their grandkids and they love spending time with them, but I think in their older age Sonic and Amy go off on more adventures again. They never stopped adventuring, but they settled down a bit while raising Aurora. Now they’re relishing a second wind and they’re frequently going on worldly explorations.  

But they always make sure to attend any events the kids are involved with and are always home on Sundays for family dinner. Sunday night is dinner at Grandma and Grandpa’s! <— I have them always having dinner at their house on Sundays even before Aurora and Shadow have kids

To be honest, I never felt like they needed more. I had a comic where they discussed it hypothetically, but they’re content with just having the one kid. (Don’t worry, just because they’re not having kids does NOT mean they aren’t… active 😈 They’re very VERY much so!). I am okay with fan stories where people give Aurora siblings and there’s a fic I’m reading right now that involves Sonic and Amy having a whoopsie baby way late in life and adult Aurora is having to deal with that and I love it lol. But just for my own writing, it’s a single-child household.

fuzzy four head cannons and or lore?

Holy crap people are asking ME about MY au holy crap Lav stay calm stay caLMM-

She/He pronouns for Four in the au, and she goes by the name Alis ^^

So, sometime between the events of Splatoon 2 and 3, Agent 4 is fired by Cuttlefish. In her frustration, she stumbles upon Mr. Grizz, who offers her a new job! Alis agrees, but unbeknownst to him, the said job was actually a test subject for the Fuzzy Ooze!

After getting infected, Mr. Grizz thought “huh, maybe I should actually put him to use-” and made Alis his secretary/janitor/scientist/bodyguard! She does paperwork, organizes notes, does experiments, cleans up messes, and also kicks ass when necessary.

Personality wise, Agent 4 is still very flexible and adaptable, hence why he's able to take on so many jobs. Her work ethic is very good (as usual), but she's lost her cheerful demeanor, often acting a lot more angry, aggressive, and serious. She frowns a lot :(

Ok random misc headcanon time wheee!!!

-REALLY dislikes the other agents, ESPECIALLY Cuttlefish. In fact, she's the one who dehydrated Cuttlefish.

-Ross (new Agent 3/my Splatsona) is close second tho

BIOGRAPHY

Cornelia's family, or rather her mother's family, has worked for the Drake family for generations. She grew up in close proximity to Tanner, whom she can rarely go one interaction with without the two of them disagreeing at least twice.

Her mother married her stepdad when she was still a baby. Her biological father, a member of the mob, spent her entire childhood in and out of prison; but in spite of that, they stayed in touch with each other and remained close.

When she was 15 years old, she got “kidnapped” by her bio dad which ended up triggering a statewide search for her. In reality, it was a little more complicated than that. She had asked him to come and get her, but he showed up without warning, beat the crap out of the boy that she was on a date with, and made her leave with him immediately without saying goodbye to her mom or stepdad.

Things became even more tense between them when, to evade capture, her dad killed at least two people—one murder which she witnessed firsthand.

The authorities eventually caught up to them close to the Mexican border. There was a standoff during which he held a gun to her head before realising what he was doing and letting her go. He was set on suicide by cop, but after she begged him to stay in her life she managed to convince him to turn himself in.

The experience left her with pretty severe PTSD when she returned home. She has since been in therapy and been medicated on and off. She is mostly fine, but her anxiety becomes unmanageable when she's under too much stress.

Since then, she has become much closer to her stepdad, to the point that she sees him as her actual dad and calls him her dad. However, she does still stay in touch with her biological father and visits him in prison whenever she can.

After graduating from business school, she became one of several personal assistants to Alexander Drake. Because of her close ties to the family, she was often the one trusted with tasks of a secretive or sensitive nature.

When Yag died, she took it incredibly hard, and being one of the few people who knows what really happened wears on her constantly; especially since it's now her full-time job to keep an eye on him and make sure that he never finds out the truth. She loves him to the ends of the earth, and she hates the fact that she has to lie to his face about who he is every single day. But it's her job to do what Alexander tells her to do regardless of if she agrees with it or not.

Despite how much he frustrates her, Tanner is the only person in the world she can actually confide in. He lives to antagonise her, but he is somehow also her closest friend and the only one she feels can fully understand her experiences.

Misc. Post: Techno Man and How Far I've Gone

Start here ^^^ for context.

Today I'd like to make mention that exactly eight years ago, I "created" the first Techno Man sprite. This Mega Man recolor had his own share of redesigns, up until I drafted the first original Techno Man sprite, leading up to the current design of Xenon Trooper Xerxes.

I appreciate that if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have taken it this far and improved as much as I have.

But I still hate everything about him. He's reminiscent of past years where I was careless, egocentric and unwilling to improve. Nowadays, I like to think I'm not as terrible of a person. In a way, I guess you could say Xerxes helped me grow just as he grew with me.

Hearthgender System (Coining Post)

Please do not archive elsewhere without asking, I don't want anything lost in translation, I am okay with people molding it to fit their needs but I'd like the original definition to stay somewhat intact for archive purposes.

Welcome to the coining post for the Hearthgender system. It will have a carrd soon! This gender system has been several years in the writing and is very personal to me. I hope others can enjoy it as well and it might apply to them too.

A gender system centered around being at your core, the hearth of a home. Connected to loyalty, kindness, genuineness, as well as family (However you define the above, and this gender is not tied to morality). This system is parental in nature, as well as feeling gentle and fair but still strong. But you can pick and choose why it applies to you if it resonates with you! It can be used as a gender descriptor umbrella or a gender in itself. (Much like Transgender/Nonbinary/Genderquer etc)

Misc things/aesthetics associated with the gender system: Fire, hearths, flint, mantles, baking, cooking, plants, roots, full tables, full houses, the sounds of laughter, camaraderie, peace, hospitality, hand-made quilts, knitted clothes, cooking stews.

You can add anything before/after hearth to better describe yourself. “Hearthqueer” “Hearthboy” “Hearthfemme” "demihearth" etc.

Gender terms and pronouns:

You can use any sort of gender or person descriptors, but one could also play around with fireplace/hearth terms or den/den dwelling animals to find some terms that fit you!

Who might be interested in this gender system? It's made with this people in mind but is not is excusice to them:

Those who feel their gender is parental/nurturing, including but not limited to: brotherly, sisterly, siblingly. Any gender terms can be used as the head, hub, or glue of a family does not have to be a parent(s) or any specific family member. Family is whatever you make it and whatever you call it. This gender is just very "family homemaker/caretaker" in nature.

Someone who feels a connection to the heart of homes in nonhuman way.

Those who feel a connection to hearths.

Someone who's genders feels homey.

This gender might also be a good replacement for former hp fans who felt a gender tie to hufflpuff house! One of the reasons I coined it was because as a child I felt like my idenenity was deeply tied to the hufflepiff traits and common room. (This page does not support jkr, but supports former fans who were devastated by her continued radicalistion as years went on)

Personally, I identify as Hearthmasc because I feel like my gender is related to being father and a brother but not a man or a boy, but also like my gender is related to being a hearth of a home and a homemaker.

This gender system is not exclusive.

However, to be clear this gender is not, and was never intended to be:

An excuse to push “Nuclear family is best” or "blood family is better" crap you decide your family and a family can be anything. 

Heteronormative/cisnormative.

Enforcing gender roles.

Also not an excuse to judge people who do not want any kinds of human connection. (Aro ace platonic afamilial)

Anyone using this to be hateful or harmful has their own problems to sort out.

Current flag: The stripes do not have meanings on their own. The flag itself represents a hearth inside of a den. Under the sky and the ground there is a fire, and the design is mirrored. Another version includes a daisy with a stylized flaming ring to reference roots/putting down roots into a hearth. The flag is muted in an attempt to give a non-offensive(to the eyes) homey feel. I did not go with a tree due to wanting to use different plants. If the flag feels too similar to something else let me know.

Quick Backstory ! (tw parental death)

What was supposed to be a joyous day, Isaiah's birth came with tragedy when his mother passed away due to a complication during his birth. While there was always the sense that something - or someone - was missing in the Francis home, there was still plenty of care and love to fill the home for the lively child Isaiah started to grow into. Like many children, he grew up thinking of his father as his hero and in turn he was the pride and joy of his father.

Despite being a fairly energetic child, prone to occasionally get in minor trouble while attempting to have some sort of childish adventure, Isaiah had a rather formal upbringing - came with the territory of growing up in a wealthy and influential home. It never seemed to really bother him, part of him was always eager to please, so if that meant spending a boring evening at some wealthy benefit instead of running around the neighborhood with some of the other kids, then so be it.

Unsurprisingly, growing up with way did mean his own future was predetermined for him, he had a role to play from the start. Initially he was alright with that, but more and more his heart wasn't in it. Isaiah wanted to see more, and more importantly do more for others with his life. His heart longed to help and serve a community.

Eventually, and perhaps for the first and last time, Isaiah made a decision for himself, to escape the role chosen for him and do what he felt was right for himself. It wasn't without its consequences, the once strong bond with his father was now strained, but he would be happier in an occupation caring for other, right? That's been the plan at least since arriving to Palmview and working as a firefighter.

Loves to go dancing (honestly might be an ideal date for him)! He knows how to ballroom dance, but honestly enjoys most kinds of dancing.

If there's ever a situation where the options are help this person but suffer personal consequences or don't help to avoid personal consequences, he's going to pick the first option every time. He truly is selfless to his own determent.

Genuinely just wants to do the right thing, help out, and have his dad be proud of him (to the point his self-worth may or may not be attached to all that, he definitely needs to work on that whenever he gives himself a chance to do something for himself).
