Grudge Match headcanon:
Messmer owns many, many snakes, but his favorites are two albino reticulated pythons. Their names are Uriel and Tamiel. Both are pushing nine feet long, and both are certified therapy animals. They wear little vests with their certification patches. They help Messmer keep calm by draping around him like a weighted blanket, and they are quite well attuned to his moods. In stressful social situations, Messmer will find a place to sit down and then slowly disappear under his cocoon of snakes.

Do you think miquella's needle could have helped Messmer? I believe that if the tarnished gave him that (in an AU) at least his Fire curse/the Fell God's influence would have been removed, and probably the Abyssal Serpent too would've left him, since wasn't it staying in his body because of Messmer's kindling to begin with? Without that source of infinite power it would have no reason to stay there, right? Or maybe miquella's needle is powerful enough to remove two curses at the same time, who knows. What do you think?
Also, hypothetically speaking, after both his curses are gone, how would he look? Sorry for this weird question, but I actually want to draw Messmer in an AU where he isn't cursed anymore, but I need some guidance from people who are more informed and smarter than me to make it as close to canon as possible lol. Personally, I think he would obviously still have his deformed body with his snake-friends, but under his flesh there would be no visible serpents, and no more scales on his skin, but when it comes to his face? I believe he would still miss his eyes, but maybe without the burned skin? I really don't know, but I would like to hear your interpretation about this one too.
Thanks in advance, and sorry for my English, it's not my mother tongue. Have a nice day!
Hi, thanks for the ask! I’m afraid I don’t have a good answer for you, though…
The thought disturbs me, Messmer without the serpent entirely. But, for the purpose of the AU, I suppose he would look like he did with the seal, like phase 1 Messmer. The burns on his face would have mostly healed, and he would either wear a blindfold or find a suitable replacement for his eye, like a glass eye.
But, I am of the belief that the Abyssal Serpent is not a curse. I agree Miquella’s needle would be able to quench the Fell God’s flame within him, but I’m not sure if that makes him better off than he was either. Despite hating it, Messmer found a way to use his flames for good and share it with his army, going so far as to develop incants and weapons for them to use when the flame did not take within them. He has complete control over it. (Of course, “good” here is the decimation of his mother’s enemies—it’s a matter of perspective lol.)
Messmer and the serpent are too entangled together to be separated I think. If they were separated somehow, Messmer would be but a husk of his former self. Removing his “curses” makes him what his mother wanted, but is that really what’s best for him? He’d be a demigod, but one without grace, without power, without a significant part of himself—what’s left? He has already forsaken his mother by removing the seal. There would be nothing for him, no purpose. When Morgott, our only in-game example, is stripped of his Omen curse, he dies.
It would result in a pretty dismal fate, if you ask me. I am certain there is a way to make it nice, but you would have to ask someone else, sorry… Good luck with your AU!

Demigod Constitutional Monarchy AU: The Miquellan Imperial Presidency
Returning to the pseudo-crackfic idea I baked up months ago to reflect on the idea of how an immortal being with pseudo-divine origins and the power to shrive clean the hearts of men would operate in the conditions of a 19th-20th century liberal republic barely a few years into its existence and facing existential threats from both church and nobility.
One: The Imperial Presidency
A term that became popularly used in the United States in the 1960s to describe the nature of the executive branch of the government. Specifically, it listed two major issues outlining how the office of president had exceeded its constitutional limits: the vague nature of presidential wartime or emergency powers, and the secretive nature of politics within a far larger presidential staff. Staffers appointed often had greater loyalty to the person immediately above them as someone that they were to in the form of patronage, and the appointment of people to Presidential staff was not legally overseen by Congress (unlike the cabinet). This essentially created a presidential court and an executive that was not accountable to congress save for election years or impeachment.
Miquella is, in both the official story and in this AU, a very secretive person. His city and the Haligtree he grew to usurp the power of his mother are located in one of the most inhospitable areas in the Lands-Between. The only way to reach this place is via a secret key to the Grand Lift of Rold, and even once through there you must light fires within the town of Ordina to access Elphael itself. His presence in Mohgwyn palace is a long-standing mystery that neither Gideon nor Sir Ansbach appear to be able to unravel until his ascension in the Land of Shadow is well underway. His purpose within the sealed off lands is only clear insofar as he seeks the divine gate of Enir-Ilim, but little is known about what exactly that means until it is already too late.
His followers are, in their own ways, reflections of the secretive nature of their kindly lord’s operations. Leda professes her devotion to him regularly and keeps good on that by simply not divulging any of his plans, a loyal right hand who believes zealously in his promise of a gentler world and will brook no treason or internal opposition. Hornsent, Dane, and Moore are those who find themselves in the pilgrimage through the promise of something to gain. Hornsent is promised redemption for his murdered clan, Dane can see the aims of the Dryleaf sect through to their conclusion in the ascent of a new God, and Moore and his brood can find love and belonging where they were once outcasts rejected by their own mother. Thiollier, Freyja, and Ansbach are potential subverting elements that are, unlike the others, deliberately kept largely in the dark about Miquella’s plans for St Trina, Radahn, and Mohg respectively.
While the other Demigods have this court system in place themselves as the heirs of an imperial system based on the rights of lineage held by the aristocracy, none go to the same length of secrecy that the master of Elphael will go, nor do they have the sizable following that are active in their most private plans. Hence why I see him as a much more standout example than even the likes of Morgott or Ranni.
Two: On Political Corruption and the Nature of Secrecy in Democratic Politics
Miquella would not be a personally corrupt executive. He has, after all, gone to great lengths to divest himself of the things that interfere with his impersonal compassion. His love, doubts, vacillations, and fears are all put to the wayside. But this does not make him wholly infallible, and his desire to embrace the whole of the world, including those with ill-intent, can be examined further. Many of the followers he has taken in are some manner of person with a long history of violence or murder through more indirect means. Even were he to make himself into the perfect and impartial ruler he would still find himself having to deal with the very personal flaws of the members of his court. As that court grows new people will be added at the recommendation of his followers, and those that enter would each need to be shrived clean lest they contribute to turning the office into a space of petty factionalism and scrambles for favor and power. This would, if only temporarily, make the court or executive office of this hypothetical AU Miquella into a functioning state body when by all means it should be tearing itself apart in a struggle for personal standing like a school playground. But this stability rests on a knife’s edge, should Miquella falter or be out of commission this house of cards would collapse in on itself and do potentially irreparable damage in his absence.
There is also the problem of how secretive Miquella is in his operations and his unaccountability tlwards a democratically elected legislative or judicial branch of government. Even if the two branches found something that they could potentially use to get him to share more of his staff’s inner goings on, it could just as easily be turned on a specific member of the court who would quite willingly put their career on the line for Kindly Miquella’s sake. The information would go the way of a paper shredder or kindling for a small fire as with the Iran-Contra affair and other instances where documents were destroyed to prevent legal accountability from being placed upon the president or higher-ups.
To be clear, I doubt that Miquella’s staff would end up in a position like this for reasons similar to that of Nixon or Reagan. His imperial presidency and the corruption and secrecy of his staff would not rise out of an open desire to smear and ruin the lives of his enemies, nor illegally sell arms to keep funding an anti-communist drug cartel just for being anti-communist, but rather one where his efforts to pass laws and policy for the sake of the welfare of the underprivileged is stonewalled by a legislature that he, like many American presidents after a mid-term election, no longer has control over.
But what does that look like exactly?
Three: “I TURNED MYSELF INTO THE TELOS OF HISTORY MALENIA! I’M END OF HISTORY MIIIIIIIIIIQ!”
For those of you who have not heard of the work The End of History and the Last Man by Francis Fukuyama: I envy you. I can offer little but a surface explanation of what it entails but it is a thesis that states that the competition between the modern political ideals in the 20th century ended with liberal democracy triumphant on the grounds that it proved the ethical, political, and economic superior to the various strains of fascism and communism that arose to challenge it. History as an evolutionary process with a distinct point that will always find a way to prominence even if another breed of anti-democratic politics find its way back into prominence. The French Revolution let loose a genie that cannot be put back in a bottle so long as there is a democratic impulse present.
Miquella in this AU is the head of state of a republic that has only just unleashed this genie upon the world. The empyrean has seen what the previous governments have done for the lower racial castes and lower classes of baseline humans that the governments of his mother and Ranni, and he has found them wanting. The young Empyrean seeks to raise these people up through the establishment of welfare programs and sweeping redistribution of properties into the hands of both smaller landholders and worker-run business ventures, and a massive increase in the power of the state to acquire and use funds for public services through heavy taxation and cooperation with non-government enterprises. These policies are criticized by the conservative forces in parliament as radical, socialistic measures that represent a betrayal of the republic’s core principle of individual liberty, while others even among Miquella’s allies say that the policies on their own are not enough and that a complete and total war against all forms of private ownership is the only way forward.
In practice, Miquella’s plans seek to stifle the rise of the type of men and women Fukuyama (and some later schools of Marxism) predicts rising to prominence within the prosperity of liberal democracy. The wealthy middle class that has gradually allowed their own upward-mobility to cloud their civic sense of duty with a perverse sense of entitlement. A democratization of aristocracy without the noblesse-oblige that maintained the stability of the old feudal system. People who are bored by their own success, who lack a sense of what to struggle for, and thus turn what little community they have to a struggle against the prosperity given to them for the simple reason that they desire to have servants and workers who are made desperate and willing to cater to their every whim.
To Miquella, this threat to the end of history, to the most compassionate and capable political force that he has witnessed in the course of this AU, is unacceptable. His presidency will meld both socialist class struggle, a widespread cult of reason and civic responsibility akin to the projects of Radical Jacobins, and the ultimate supremacy of liberal democratic institutions as the means of shaping society.
However, when the legislature is lost to him in an election and now presents naught but opposition, how can he bring about an end to history and the cycle of unending conflict his mother and others before her inherited? The president cannot sit idle while the people who elected him to office call out for aid, and so Miquella chooses to find a way around the institutions he has upheld as sacrosanct. Use of emergency powers will become more frequent as the republic becomes embroiled in internal conflict and the real threat of aristocratic counter-revolution. Secrecy within his staff allows him to circumvent the other branches with new departments and agencies willing to go to great lengths to seize property and place it under the jurisdiction of people that will need to be trained in economic management, which in turn necessitates the creation of more departments in order to accomplish this. These departments achieve their intended effect, but how long can they last when they are instituted at the command of one branch ignoring its limits? How can he trust the many of the people that comprise the electorate when the privileges and newfound wealth afforded to them from those who came before have infected them with a disease of abundance? What happens when Miquella himself cannot go on? Those are questions left unanswered, for every person in his staff dreads what will happen when they recieve one. What they all know is what must be done.
In the name of compassion he will create a utopia where the holiest liberty and justice are the commandments of god, and ‘love thy neighbor’ is a law enforced with the same violence as all others like it must be. It is terrifying, and for those who have long suffered under the previous reign of Queen Marika and her flawed attempts to balance the crown upon a republic, that terror is worth the beauty of hope for something better.

A conversation between Miquella the Kind and Sir Moore. Pre DLC, vague timeline (could be AU, could be canon-ish). Only dialogue.
“Sad… Just sad…”
“Excuse me…?”
“We are. Alone.”
“Are you alright?”
“We are forsaken, young one. By our mother.”
“You are children of Malenia…. Of her Rot….”
“Did I make you sad as well?”
“No, no… I am sad, but you are not to blame.”
“Why are you sad?”
“My sister was hurt… I have done terrible things, and I will do much worse… There is so much pain and sorrow...”
“Here. Take this.”
“Why are you giving me this?”
“Things make people happier. It helps me with the sadness. We like to find things; we are good at it.”
“'We'?”
“My brothers and I.”
“I see…”
“…”
“I know your mother.”
“Do you? She doesn’t love us.”
“No, she doesn’t. She was hurt horribly by the force that made you alive.”
“The Scarlet Rot.”
“Yes.”
“Is that why she left us?”
“It is. You… you are not to blame. And she is not either.”
“What do we do then? Some of my brothers are stubborn. They want to worship her, even if she doesn’t want to. I don’t want to do anything she doesn’t want to. I don’t want to make her sad.”
“… Maybe you could do something different. Maybe you could find a different purpose.”
“What purpose?”
“... Perhaps... I need help. I will need help in a place far away from here. People will go to that place, and they will need things. Things to survive and to enjoy. Do you think you could do that?”
“I don’t know… I don’t want to do anything. The world seems so dark. Maybe we should just remain here… and die.”
“No! You deserve to live, you deserve to enjoy this world, like everybody else!”
“You are kind, but we are just foragers. Foragers in a barren world. What is your name?”
“I am Miquella. What is yours?”
“Moore.”
“I can give you my light, sir Moore. You could help me.”
“Would it help with the pain?”
“It would.”
“How?”
“My light will soothe you. You will wish to serve me. And anything that would stop you from doing that... will be dulled. Will be fogged.”
“Why would you do this? Do you need things so bad?”
“Heh. No. But I want to help. You don’t deserve to be sad forever, right? You deserve to feel love.”
“Will you love us?”
“I will. I promise.”
“We will not be unloved... Then okay.”
“… Do you feel it?”
“Yes! I can feel your light! Mother is gone, but I can feel that you need me. What do you need, Kind Miquella?”
“Wait for my call. And be safe.”
“Of course. We are foragers. We know this land. We will wait. Please, don’t forget us.”
“Never. I don’t forget, ever.”
“I will wait your call, my brothers will know of your need and your love. We will serve you.”
“Thank you… I am sorry… I am so sorry.”

🤲 ✍ ❌ ?
✍ Do you have a beta reader?
I do not which is why everyone has to suffer through reading all my typos and missing words, especially if you're someone who reads anything I post as soon as I post it to my accounts. Despite proof reading multiple times myself, I will always miss typos until I hit the publish button and then they all jump out at me. I've thought about it but I think it would make me more anxious to meet imaginary deadlines and also worry about if it's something the beta reader even wants to read so it's easier to just... not.
❌ What's a trope you will never write?
For plot-central fics: Non-cannon AUs that are in a wildly different setting, especially Modern AUs, I don't vibe with them at all because I just really dislike writing in a modern day setting, I'm a cannon-setting loyalist to a fault. For PWP fics: Anything to do with sex toys as a central focus - they're just not my cup of tea to read or write about ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
🤲 Would you please share a snippet of a wip?
Sure, here's a snippet from ch 9 of FoR!
"It is a sight to behold, is it not? The dead willingly returned to the great Erdtree. Yet you will notice that even here there are no Omen amongst the dead nestled in the roots," said a different voice from behind him. "Even in death, we are to be shunned."  Miquella turned around and raised the lantern to look at who he could only presume was Mohg, though he looked strikingly different to how Godwyn had described him all those years ago. Like Morgott, twisting and curling horns grew atop his head, yet unlike Morgott it appeared Mohg had not even tried to control them or prevent their growth. Gone was whatever hair he once had, lost to the cluster of horns which appeared had also claimed one of his eyes. Where Morgott had a normal mouth, Mohg had only two rows of sharp teeth not unlike those of dragons - though his teeth, it seemed, were permanently bared. Strikingly few traits remained to indicate that he had ever looked even similar to Morgott; it was difficult to believe someone could change so drastically in such a short time. He considered what Mohg had said and reflected on the truth in his words before replying, "It is the grace granted to them by the Erdtree which beckons them back to these roots so that they might be reborn. As ones without grace from the Erdtree, there is nothing for Omen to return to these roots. Nothing to be used in rebirth. Omens die a true death." "Yet the two of us benefit from the missing Rune of Death where other Omens do not. We are immortal demigods, cursed to eternal life in this hovel beneath the splendor of the Erdtree." Mohg stepped closer, but it was not meant to threaten or intimidate. Where Morgott had approached him and spoken to him with caution and apprehension, Mohg seemed curious - almost captivated by his presence. "But not you. You were not made to illuminate these depths, to stray so far from the golden shine of the Erdtree. What has brought you to this forsaken place?"

The Group getting to Lake of Rot
Tarnished, musing the swamps while going through the Ainsel Depths: God, what is up with there being so many swamps EVERYWHERE?
Godrick: Oh hush Tarnished, riding your horse subverts that every time
Radahn: Unless you’re underground, Leonard never liked the dark
Rykard: Well what are the chances of there ever being a swamp underground, brothaaa
Morgott: By the Gods we need to fix your voice somehow or else I will tear my ears off
Mohg: Like you did your horns?
Morgott: NOW LISTEN HERE YOU-
They then argue for a few minutes before realizing the Tarnished has just not moved
Godrick: What is wrong, Tarnished, why aren’t you-
Tarnished:…It’s a fucking ROT LAKE?
Radahn: Gods what is this? Did Malenia make this?
Mohg: Perhaps, though maybe it was through another force?
Rykard: But I thought Malenia was the source of rot?
Morgott: Well we don’t know for su-
Tarnished: Yeah yeah shut the fuck up, I have to focus on getting across this cesspit
Mohg: True, we can discuss whether this is Malenia leakage later
Morgott: Literally never say leakage after someone’s name again you idiot
And then they all proceeded to yell about getting to a grace as soon as possible as the Tarnished had to simultaneously dreg through Rot and Sip Tears for the next 5 minutes
Mohgwyn Palace
Godrick: By the gods this is more decadent than Stormveil
Tarnished: Yeah, and you are one decadent asshole, so that’s saying something
Godrick: Yes, exa- WHAT DID YOU JUS-
Radahn: Are you okay Morgott? You seem… embarrassed?
Morgott:…Let’s just say that this is the most fitting thing my brother has done to his personality
Malenia: Besides kidnapping my brother, yes
Tarnished: Gods the second this is all over you all need some sort of family counseling, because there are ISSUES here
Then they beat Mohg and Malenia’s having a moment
Malenia: Oh dear brother, I am so sorry for allowing this to happen, I swear that one day I will try to help you…
Tarnished: Is Miquella a spider?
Malenia: What?
Radahn: Now that you mention it the webs are very… spider-like
Godrick: As well as all the eggs in the Haligtree
Malenia: Of course not, he’s just, you know… unique
Morgott: You have no clue, do you?
Malenia: He just told me he would grow up, and I received no information besides that
Rykard: Personally, I believe if he got an insectoid body that would be quite unique!
Radahn: Rykard you literally became a snakeman just to eat our father… mother… FUCK that’s still confusing
Tarnished: Again. Issues
Deeproot Depths time
Tarnished: I swear to Marika, the rot god, and WHATEVER GODS THERE ARE, if I see ONE MORE BASILISK I WILL LOSE IT
Morgott: Relax, Tarnished. It seems as if we’ve made it to the source of these roots
Mohg: Indeed, but for some reason I can’t rid myself of this strange sense of foreboding
Rykard: Really? I can’t feel anything
Radahn: Likewise
Godrick: Hmm, for some reason I can feel it as well
Tarnished: Morgott, do you feel it?
Morgott:…Yes, why?
Tarnished: Because, I think we’re coming up on the Lord of Death’s throne, and if it’s who I’ve heard it is, then that makes sense
They then proceed, fight Fia’s summons, and then
Godrick: Oh well that was simpl- AAAAHHHH
Morgott: GODS MY EARS, what are you yelling at, boy?
Mohg: Uh, you may want to look at what we’re seeing brother
Morgott: What could possibly prompt tha-
Tumblr media
Radahn: By the Gods, I-Is that the Lord of Death?
Rykard: I believe so, it is where all the roots come from
Malenia: But why is it so… strange?
Morgott:… godwyn?
Radahn: What?
Tarnished: No he’s right, that’s Godwyn
Godrick: WHAT?
Malenia: How the hell is that Godwyn? It’s horrible!
Rykard: True, but Godwyn was, in fact, buried beneath the Erdtree and considering where we are…
Mohg: Th-that proves nothing, Godwyn died, he’s gone
Radahn: Not, exactly.
Mohg: What do you mean?
Radahn: His soul died, meaning he didn’t die properly
Malenia: Yes, I believe Miquella mentioned that before, he even prayed for him to die properly I believe
Radahn: Right. But his body is still alive, meaning that in all likelihood, his body must’ve changed without any proper goal of development, leading to, well, this.
Tarnished:… I can see why they don’t tell people he’s here
Bonus!
Tarnished: The more I learn about you all the more I realize how much of the stories I’ve heard were bullshite
Radahn: How so?
Tarnished: Well, my ancestor, my great great great somethin’ or other was a part of the Long March with Godfrey and the other Tarnished, and she passed on stories about Great Demigods of Nobility and unmatched humility
Malenia: Well, thank yo-
Tarnished: But you all act like children
Godrick: I beg your pardon?
Tarnished: Godrick when we first met you were worshiping a dead dragon on a pike and were a mass of arms
Rykard: That sounds like him
Godrick: Quiet, snake
Tarnished: Speaking of, Rykard. Buddy, pal, old bud of mine… what’s with the snake stuff?
Rykard: I see no problem with it
Mohg: That is part of the issue
Tarnished: Oh boy I am so glad you spoke up Mohg. Because not only do you have issues, you kidnapped your own BROTHER. And then tried to make a dynasty where you literally just stole the end of your other brother’s name and put it on your own?
Mohg:… My dynasty was a noble goal
Morgott: It really wasn’t brother
Tarnished: Morgott, you got more mad at me for getting your family’s chairs wet than trying to kill you, how DEPRIVED of love ARE YOU?
Morgott:… Shut up
Tarnished: Malenia, you are an amazing fighter, but not only are you obsessed with your streak, you also stayed for an empty cocoon! All you had to do was look at the giant hole in it!
Malenia:… I was in a very dark state of mind
Radahn: I hear that, sister
Tarnished: Radahn. I get you dislike your father, I hate him too, but modeling yourself after his wife’s ex, or maybe his ex? Who knows, but either way it’s strange
Radahn:… So does that mean you hate us?
Tarnished: What? No, you’re all great. I’m also mentally ill so this all works out wonderfully for me.
And they all lived happily ever after until someone(probably Godrick) instigates an argument

Been thinking about TF2 AU Elden Ring with the demigods. Like, who would fit which classes and why.
Malenia as Scout. Both are the youngest of eight (acknowledged) children and known for their fast-paced and relentless style of fighting that requires a lot of maneuverability on their parts. While Scout is far more arrogant and brash, the boast Malenia gives could have shades of it, since she has been felled in battle.
Rykard as Soldier. Let me be perfectly clear that I think Rykard is far more ‘insane’ by any metric than Mohg but people latch onto that description for Mohg because of Gideon. His whole plan is basically “get vored and then eat everyone,” which is frankly not a workable plan, especially since he keeps eating all the possibly sympathetic Tarnished who might otherwise join his ranks. Soldier, as a character, has a very shaky grasp of reality and his methods of handling everything is questionable, such as rocket-jumping, and it only works because the TF2 setting is heavy on cartoon logic. They’re also incredibly hammy. Tanith is also as ride-or-die as Zhanna, what with the former’s eating Rykard’s corpse in hopes of rebirthing him and the latter with the ear necklace. Rykard also uses lava as a sort of environmental hazard in his fight, much like how Soldier has splash damage.
Melina as Pyro. Melina and Pyro both have a heavy association with flame and have basically almost no information about themselves. Indeed, they tend to act more as a mirror to build other characterization up outside of the small slivers of glimpses about them. They are surrounded in speculation because of how little there otherwise is. Narratively, in Pyro’s case, and literally in Melina’s case, they’re phantoms within the work. (While this also applies with Godwyn and Miquella to a lesser extent, we get more about them.)
Godwyn as Demoman. This one is the shakiest by far. (And some would say that, due to design motifs, Mogh might fit here better for missing an eye and being considered ‘cursed’ but design motifs were mostly a secondary consideration for this list in favor of their lores, characterization, and how they handle combat.) However, Godwyn and Demoman both get shit done. Godwyn managed to fight dragons to a standstill and a good Demoman is insanely good at mopping up a whole team, especially fi they know all the tricks. Both also have mothers who expect them to do certain things a certain way, the former being how Marika was probably trying to groom Godwyn to take her place at first, and Demoman’s mother and how that plays out. In both cases, they’re disappointed in their sons for specific things related to their vocations/directions their life have gone in.
Radahn as Engineer. Radahn may be big and brash, while Engineer is as short hardhat man, but both are intelligent characters specializing in, among other things, physics and teleportation-related abilities. They also have shades of questionable morality that many of the audience do not see.
Mohg as Heavy. This one might be controversial, both because Heavy/Medic is a common pairing while Mohg/Miquella is reviled outside of a subset of the fandom who actually ship it. However, I’m focusing on two things in particular, despite being a Mohg/Miquella shipper! First has to do with their fighting style. Mohg and Heavy both take whatever someone dishes out and then responds in kind. They are very bulky and it takes time for them to reposition because of it. Heavy and Mohg also have a lot going on under the surface that’s similar. Heavy became a mercenary in order to protect his family and keeps them hidden in the middle of nowhere in the Dzhugdzhur mountains and is often assumed to be slow-witted by virtue of his simple English. (He is not stupid, he has a PhD. in Russian literature.) Due to his appearance, Mohg is often assumed to be a monster and not a very bright one at that despite having one of the more workable plans in the post-Shattering setting, and keeps his following safe by virtue of only teleportation being the means to access the grounds under a wasteland. And if you get anywhere near the most vulnerable of the bunch, they will tear you a new asshole.
Miquella as Medic. Both have strong associations with biology specifically, between Medic’s expertise and animal experimentation, and Miquella’s routine moth motifs. They are shrouded in ‘angelic’ imagery to the audience and can be incredibly charming and affable. They are also notably bad at fighting directly. The rest of the characters around them can defend themselves well, but Miquella and Medic are uniquely vulnerable characters because fighting is not their primary focus. While they both can defend themselves in the pinch, it’s clearly more risky for them because, again, not their focus. There is also a strong element of their manipulation, if you delve into their characters. Medic is able to be quite manipulative, to the point of conning the Devil, while Miquella might have the ability to make people like him. Both have strong focuses on healing, with Medic’s being literal and Miquella’s being metaphorical with the Haligtree. Medic and Miquella also have associations with raising up to divinity- Medic is all about creating gods/an ubermensch/playing god and Miquella himself is trying to raise himself up to divinity.
Morgott as Sniper. Morgott and Sniper both have a characterization where they’re kind of obsessed with validation from their parents to actually treat them well (and only receive it upon death canonically, though Sniper gets better). Morgott’s fighting style is also generally 1 on 1 and his sword is dex-based, while Sniper is very much only fighting 1 on 1 or hanging back and sniping or observing.
Ranni as Spy. Spy and Ranni both share fairly ‘cold’ motifs, being incredibly pragmatic and using people to their own ends. They are also both associated with performing assassinations with blades that can functionally kill instantly. They also both do not wear their own faces, as Spy both has his disguises and keeps his face hidden, while Ranni abandoned her body in favor of a doll body. While often cool and playing things close to the chest, they can be endearing to those whom they trust, though that is a scant few, including whoever they take as a lover.

mohg in your post-Miquella au: This is my emotional support war surgeon
On a question note, if mohg lost access to the formless mothers abilities, would that mean that like blood spells and stuff wouldn’t work? would that impact varré/mohgs followers too or just him?
(Also, your writing is amazing and all your ideas are so well thought out, I read the entire fic about Laurence’s cats last night and went on a whole rollercoaster of emotions, but really enjoyed it!)
Wait, how do you know about this? I am pretty sure that was Discord only, so I guess you must be one of the members then? Or did I talk about it here? I am sorry, I am just a bit confused. If I talked about it here, then I apologize. I have a very bad memory and it could very well be that I posted about it here. I should put more of my ideas on my blog anyway. Hmmm, I don't think the Formless Mother would vanish if Miquella was gone? The Formless Mother contacted Mohg pre Miquella, so I don't think she has anything to do with him. Maybe if she wants him to have a consort she would try and influence him to get another? I am still a bit confused with the lore of Elden Ring and why every god needs a consort so badly, so I need to think about this more and do some lore digging once I finished the game. And ooooh, thank you so much ^^ That is always nice to hear such a compliment. I am glad you enjoyed Laurence and his cats and I hope chapter 17 didn't destroy you too much ^^
