it's so embarrassing to be into the background characters who are barely ever expanded on. i'm out here being excited over cut content.
okay so, this is specifically about poppy playtime, and it's for the slash ship between huggy wuggy and kissy missy.
no, i am not talking about the children who got turned into toys.
i am talking about these two goofballs:
y'know, the actual personalities of the toys themselves.
they're so cute, and i need more content of them together. there's an official description out there calling her his "better half", and they dare not include more content of them together?
i love pairings where they're literally just matching like this. it never gets old.
oh, and this is the cut art i was geeked over+ an unused halloween promotional material:

Rebrushed may not be Oswald's only major video game appearance in 2024: in the paid expansion pass for Dreamlight Valley's content roadmap, spring's update says "explore Ancient's Landing to uncover more of its secrets and befriend a very lucky villager"
I’ve seen that, but I won’t believe it til I see it.
On YouTube. Because again I’m not playing Disney’s games but also I am not good with Animal Crossing-style games

Copy Right and Public Domain in 2024
Happy 2024 all! its also Public Domain Day! a magical holiday here in America where things enter the public domain. Works published in the year 1928 (or 95 years ago!) have entered the public domain, which means they belong to us, all of us, the public!
Mickey's Back!
Yes! I'm sure you've heard, but Mickey Mouse (and Minnie Mouse too) is entering the Public Domain today. This has been news for a few years and indeed Disney's lobbying in the late 1990s is why our copy right term is SO long. So what exactly is now public domain?

Most people know about Mickey's first appearance Steamboat Willie, but a second short film, Plane Crazy was also released in 1928 so will also be public domain. So what's public? well these two films first of all, you're allowed to play them, upload them to YouTube or whatever without paying Disney. In theory you'll be allowed to cut and sample them, have them playing in the background of your movie etc. Likewise in theory the image of Mickey and Minnie as they appear (thats important) in these films will be free to use as well as Mickey's character as he appears in these works will be free to use. Now Mickey's later and more famous appearance

will still be protected. Famously the Conan Doyle Estate claimed that Sherlock Holmes couldn't be nice, smile, or not hate women in works because they still held the copyright on the short stories where he first did those things even though 90% of Sherlock Holmes stories were public domain. It's very likely Disney will assert similar claims over Mickey, claiming much of his personality first appeared in works still copyrighted.
Finally there's copyright vs trademark. Copyright is total ownership of a piece of media and all the ideas that appear in it, copyright has a limited set term and expires. Trademark is more limited and only applies to things used to market and sell a product. You can have a Coke branded vending machine in your movie if you want, but it couldn't appear anywhere in the trailer for your movie as thats you marketing your movie.
Where trademark ends and copyright begins and how trademarked something in the public domain is allowed to be are all unsettled areas of law and clearly Disney in the last few years as been aggressively pushing its trademark not just to Mickey in general but Steamboat Willie Mickey in particular
Ultimately the legal rights and wrongs of this might not matter so much since few people have the money and legal resources of the Walt Disney corporation so they might manage to maintain a de facto copyright on Mickey through legal intimidation, but maybe not?
And Tigger Too!
All the talk about Mickey Mouse and Steamboat Willie has sadly overshadowed other MAJOR things entering the public domain today. Most people are aware Winnie the Pooh entered the public domain in 2022, but they might not realize his beloved friend Tigger didn't. Thats because Tigger didn't appear till A. A. Milne's second (and last) book of Pooh short stories, The House at Pooh Corner in 1928.
Much like Mickey Mouse only what appears in The House at Pooh Corner is public domain so the orange bouncy boy from the 1960s Disney cartoon is still on lock down. But the A. A. Milne original as illustrated by E. H. Shepard is free for you to use in fiction or art. His friend Winnie the Pooh has made a number of appearances since being freed, most notably in a horror movie, but also a Mint Mobile commercial so maybe Tigger too will have a lot of luck in the public domain.
Other works:
Peter Pan; or the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up
Peter Pan is a strange case, even though the play was first mounted in 1904, and the novelization (Peter and Wendy) was published in 1911, The script for the play was not published till 1928 (confusing!) meaning while the novel as been public domain for years the play (which came first) hasn't been, but now it is and people are welcome to mount productions of it.
Millions of Cats
The oldest picture book still in print, did you own a copy growing up? (I did)
Lady Chatterley's Lover
The iconic porn novel that was at the center of a number of groundbreaking obscenity cases in the 1960s and helped establish your right to free speech.
All Quiet on the Western Front and The Threepenny Opera in their original German (but you can translate them if you want), The Mystery of the Blue Train by Agatha Christie, and Orlando by Virginia Woolf will also be joining us in the public domain along with any and all plays, novels, and books published in 1928
for Films we have The Man Who Laughs who's iconic image inspired the Joker

Charlie Chaplin's The Circus, Buster Keaton's The Cameraman, Should Married Men Go Home? the first Laurel and Hardy movie, Lights of New York the first "all talking" movie, The Passion of Joan of Arc, The Wind, as well as The Last Command and Street Angel the first films to win Oscars for Best Actor and Best Actress respectively will all be entering public domain
For Musical Compositions (more on that in a moment) we've got
Mack the Knife by Bertolt Brecht, Let’s Do It (Let’s Fall in Love) by Cole Porter, Sonny Boy by George Gard DeSylva, Lew Brown & Ray Henderson, Empty Bed Blues by J. C. Johnson, and Makin’ Whoopee! by Gus Khan are some of the notables but any piece of music published in 1928 is covered
Any art work published in 1928, which might include works by Frida Kahlo, Georgia O'Keeffe, Alexej von Jawlensky, Edward Hopper, and André Kertész will enter the public domain, we are sure those that M. C. Escher's Tower of Babel will be in the public domain

Swan Song, Public Domain and recorded music
While most things are covered by the Copyright Act of 1976 as amended by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, none of the copyright acts covered recordings you see when American copyright law was first written recordings did not exist and so through its many amendings no one fixed this problem, movies were treated like plays and artwork, but recorded sound wasn't covered by any federal law. So all sound recordings from before 1972 were governed by a confusing mess of state level laws making it basically impossible to say what was public and what was under copyright. In 2017 Congress managed to do something right and passed the Music Modernization Act. Under the act all recordings from 1922 and before would enter the public domain in 2022. After taking a break for 2023, all sound recordings made in 1923 have entered the public domain today on January 1st 2024, these include.
Charleston by James P. Johnson
Yes! We Have No Bananas (recorded by a lot artists that year)
Who’s Sorry Now by Lewis James
Down Hearted Blues by Bessie Smith
Lawdy, Lawdy Blues by Ida Cox
Southern Blues and Moonshine Blues by Ma Rainey
That American Boy of Mine and Parade of the Wooden Soldiers by Paul Whiteman and his Orchestra
Dipper Mouth Blues and Froggie More by King Oliver’s Creole Jazz Band, featuring Louis Armstrong
Bambalina by Ray Miller Orchestra
Swingin’ Down the Lane by Isham Jones Orchestra
Enjoy your public domain works!

While Mickey Mouse's earliest incarnation is in the public domain, not all of his beloved traits and design features are available for legal use! Let's go over some fair use #fails surrounding the character to learn more
Infestation 88
Pros: no pupils, no gloves, nips out, top hat: this is a high-tier non-infringing Mickey Mouse!
Cons: Mickey Mouse didn't start laying egg pods in space stations until 1939, so that may be infringing. Curiously unexplained number 88 probably nothing to worry about

Farfour the Mouse
Pros: agrees with Walt Disney on certain issues
Cons: Mickey did not gain his gloves until 1929 and his pupils until 1938, making this infringing
Mickey & Minnie Mouse Babies Missing Abducted Lethal Injection! Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Cartoons Full
Pros: on-brand for early Mickey's tendency towards animal abuse and inter-person violence
Cons: Joker Mickey wasn't introduced until 1947 and didn't poison any children until the "banned" episode of House of Mouse
Abandoned by Disney
Pros: Hard to recognize status of pupils in photo-negative state
Cons: Disney didn't start making "evil suits" until 1971, when they started stockpiling them in the Utilidors "just in case"

Disneyland ┃CL16
summary: where the leclerc family spends a day at disneyland
It was a warm day in Los Angeles and Charles was packing the last of his little daughter's things into her mini-backpack. He had decided to take a break from the busy world of racing to spend quality time with his girlfriend and his energetic 4-year-old daughter, Emma. He had decided to take his girls to Disneyland.
When they entered the huge park, Emma's eyes opened with excitement as she saw the Disney characters, the various games and the other children dressed as their favorite characters. Charles and Y/N exchanged smiles, knowing that this day would be filled with laughter and unforgettable memories.
The first stop was Fantasyland, where they entered classic attractions such as "It's a Small World" and the Mad Hatter's teacups where even though Emma was barely 4 years old, she loved speed and laughingly shouted at her parents to turn the wheel cup faster.
Right there, Emma insisted on dressing up, excusing herself that it was to feel the magic in a better way, so they entered the store where they sold the different costumes and let Emma freely choose what their clothes would be for the rest of the day.
Now, Charles dressed as Prince Charming, Y/N in the beautiful Cinderella dress and Emma dressed as a little Wendy, strolled through Adventureland, where they met pirates and sailed through the mysterious waters of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Charles hugged Emma, while Y/N captured the funny image of them dressed as Disney characters with the pirates.
Emma, now a little ahead of them, was trying to run in the direction of the car ride, eager to ride the cars from one of her favorite movies.
''!Emma Jules don't run so fast!'' Charles shouted trying to reach his little daughter.
As the day progressed, the Leclerc family ran into beloved Disney characters, posed for photos, and enjoyed treats like Mickey-shaped ice cream, among other things. Emma insisted on meeting Peter Pan and Wendy, the characters of her current favorite movie, and Charles and Y/N happily agreed, following her daughter's enthusiasm.
The highlight of their day was a surprise meeting with Mickey Mouse and Minnie themselves. Emma's eyes widened in pure amazement as she hugged the iconic characters. Charles and Y/N exchanged a proud look, grateful for this opportunity to make precious memories for their daughter.
As the sun began to set, the family rushed to see the spectacular fireworks show in the front row. Emma sat on Charles' shoulders, pointing to the sky in wonder as explosions of color lit up the night.
Leaving the park, tired but happy, Charles and Y/N , with their daughter in their arms, headed to their car. The little girl had fallen exhausted after that day.
While Y/N placed Emma in her seat, Charles tried to unbutton the collar of that costume they were still wearing.
''What are you doing Charlie?''
''I've been choking on this costume all day but I didn't want to take it off for Emma. These things are not designed for people with f1 driver necks''
''Let me help you'' his girlfriend laugh
With a little effort they managed to noticeably loosen the collar of the suit and then climbed into their respective seats to reach the comfort of their hotel to rest.
''¿Do you think she had fun?'' charles said in a low voice trying not to wake up his daughter in the back seat.
''I'm sure she had the best time, baby, plus, I got to see you in that cute costume all day. You looked very handsome''
''What can I say? Although you are not far behind, you look beautiful in that dress, did you know that Cinderella is one of my favorite movies?'' he said smiling
''Oh shut up'' Y/N covered her mouth trying to silence her laughter.
They indeed had the best time.

see your fic about Billie going on holiday and can u do one about a family vacation (like Maggie,Patrick, finneas and Claudia) 🩷
omg hi, mi corazón! Hope you like it 🥰❤️🙈

——————————————————————————
It was a sun-kissed day at Disneyland, the happiest place on Earth, and the air was thick with the sounds of laughter, music, and the delightful screams of children on rides. The colorful world was alive with joy, and at the heart of it all was Billie Eilish, her blonde hair a beacon amid the sea of excitement. Beside her was her sweet wife, Y/N, their hands intertwined, and their six-year-old twins, Ava and Mia, dashing ahead with uncontainable enthusiasm.
“Mama, look! It’s Mickey!” Ava shouted, her big brown eyes sparkling as she pointed toward the iconic character in the distance.
“Yes! Mickey Mouse! Let’s go, let’s go!” Mia echoed, tugging on Y/N’s hand as they raced forward, giggles pouring out of them like music.
Billie watched, a huge smile stretching across her face, warmth flooding her heart as she saw the twins leap toward the beloved character. She felt incredibly soft and protective, her gentle side shining through the thrill of the day.
“Hey, wait up!” Billie called after them, her voice playful but a touch soft as she sped up to catch up with her family.
Maggie and Patrick, snapping pictures from a short distance away, exchanged glances, their hearts swelling with pride. “They’re growing up so fast,” Maggie said, focusing her camera lens on the girls.
“They’re full of energy just like their mom,” Patrick chuckled, aiming to capture Billie smiling warmly at her daughters.
Finneas and his girlfriend Claudia joined the group, both equally enchanted by the twins’ excitement. “You guys are going to make yourselves sick on all the cotton candy and churros!” Finneas teased, walking alongside his parents with a grin.
“Never!” Ava giggled, her wild hair bouncing with her every step. “Mama said we can have everything!”
“Sweetheart,” Billie corrected, looking down at Ava and Mia with a soft smile. “You know we have to save some treats for later. We don’t want a sugar crash before we see the parade!”
Ava pouted dramatically but then turned to Y/N, who crouched down to their level, her gaze warm and nurturing. “What do you think, Mommy? Can we have just one churro now?”
Y/N chuckled gently, brushing a lock of hair from Ava’s forehead. “Well, how about this: we can share a churro after we take pictures with Mickey and Minnie. Deal?”
“Deal!” the twins cheered in unison, bouncing on the balls of their feet while their excitement reached new heights.
As they reached Mickey Mouse, the characters welcomed the family with open arms. Billie felt a flutter in her heart as she watched her daughters embrace their heroes, their laughter echoing in the air. She couldn’t help but snap a few pictures herself, capturing the sparkle in Ava's eyes and the bright smile on Mia’s face.
“Mama, look! Can you believe it?” Mia exclaimed as Mickey bent down to her level, a big grin plastered on his face.
“I can’t believe it, my little star!” Billie cooed lovingly, her heart melting at the sight. “You girls are so brave to stand next to him!”
After some exciting snapshots with the characters, it was time to meet Minnie. The twins’ infectious energy filled the atmosphere, and Billie felt a sense of happiness wash over her. The joyful chaos was what they cherished—a perfect family outing filled with laughter and love.
“Say cheese!” Y/N encouraged as they positioned themselves for another photo, with Billie holding one twin in each arm.
“Cheeeese!” Ava and Mia echoed, their faces lighting up with glee.
As the camera clicked, Billie looked at Y/N, her heart full. “We’re so lucky,” she whispered, squeezing Y/N’s waist gently. “I love this life with you and our girls.”
Y/N smiled, her eyes sparkling back at her. “We are lucky, Billie. This is what we dreamed of.”
Time seemed to fly by as they continued to explore the park. From thrilling rides to meeting princesses, every moment was a treasure. In the midst of it all, Billie took every chance to remind her daughters of her soft side—her gentle laughter and soothing words reminding them they were cherished.
When they finally found a quiet spot near the castle to nibble on churros, Billie shared her treat with her girls, bringing her lips close to their ears, whispering, “Just remember, you can always come to Mama for a little extra caramel sauce.”
“Yay! Mama’s the best!” Mia squealed, her eyes bright with excitement as she caught crumbs falling from her mouth.
As the sun dipped lower in the sky, casting a warm glow over the park, the family reunited again for the nighttime parade. Billie held both twins in her strong arms, their legs dangling playfully, as they watched the magical floats pass by with wide eyes. Y/N snuggled close to them, embracing this beautiful moment and the love surrounding them.
“Mama, look at Cinderella!” Ava exclaimed, pointing at the dazzling character who twinkled in the fairy lights.
Billie looked down, her heart swelling. “You two are my little princesses, always,” she said softly, leaning down to press a kiss to each of their foreheads.
“Mama, you’re our queen!” Mia declared loudly, her innocence echoing in the night as Billie chuckled, her love for her family resonating in every breath.
With Y/N by her side, Billie knew this day at Disneyland would become a cherished memory, one that would be retold many times over—a beautiful story of love, laughter, and the adventure of life as a family created by connection, grace, and unconditional love.

Saw the new Looney Tunes movie and loved it! Was a little nervous when I bought a ticket 10 min prior to 'start' and was told I'd have the theater to myself, but settled in and really enjoyed myself!
I loved the art, but also really loved the characters in the movie. Highlights include:
The animation - both characters and backgrounds. Some of the latter reminded me of the old Batman cartoon.
Soo many tears over wanting to be a good friend
The evilness of an HOA check
Hints that Daffy and Porky were raised by either God or the cowboy from the screaming music video, not sure which
Confirmation Daffy is trans
Porky being one half of a highly efficient battle couple
Petunia my beloved. As soon as she used a bunson burner as a blow torch, i was gone
A really good plot twist i hadn't seen coming
The suggestion that Petunia moves in with Porky and Daffy. If we call Porky and Daffy a qpr, does that make Daffy and Petunia metamores?
The delightful fact that Porky and Petunia had the same feet. Not sure if this means all pigs wear ballet flats and walk in a Barbie pose, or just Porky but loved how they didn't give her obvious heels like Minnie Mouse.

I've been trying to set up more realistic expectations for myself for the new Oswald the Lucky Rabbit hybrid animation live-action series and honestly, they are not all that positive with the way Disney is going with its shitty live action remakes and setting it's animated projects to fail from the get-go. The fact that it's a live action hybrid pisses me off from the start, I'm still salty about that Oswald animation series that was canned possibly for this. Disney has such an inability since the live action remake era we're in to reach a target audience.
I apologise for the negativity around this new announcement but my hopes are just not high especially with the characterisation of Oswald in recent Disney media. I was so excited for him to be in Dreamlight and Once Upon a Studio just to be disappointed that Disney has been boiling him down to just a vintage character. THAT'S BEEN HIS ENTIRE THING LATELY AND I'M SICK OF IT. I'm not even going to get started on what they've done to his personality. HE WAS KNOWN FOR HIS PERSONALITY EVEN IN HIS DEBUT FOR A REASON.
He doesn't even get a modern redesign like Mickey which okay fine, whatever we can work with that but if they really want to bring Oswald back into the public eye he should be actively put into the Mickey Mouse & Friends universe. He doesn't even have to be part the sensational six, just being Mickey's older brother that's got a bit of an attitude but a heart of gold has an ocean of possibilities in both shows and comics. Bring back Horace, make them a competitive duo, parallel to Mickey and Donald. Make a little group of Oswald, Horace, Clarabelle and Ortensia, there's already an establishment of their dynamics with the Wasteland comics and then that gives way for Ortensia to interact with Minnie and Daisy through Clarabelle (being her friend) and Mickey (being her brother-in-law). Bunny children, enough said. So. Many. Shenanigans, you could write that feel fun and organic. You literally have creatives that have expressed a love for Oswald's character in your company, PUT HIM IN KINGDOM HEARTS YOU COWARDS. Why do you think Epic Mickey did so well, why is it the main version people associate Oswald with? Because the people who worked on CARED. They had fun with it. WHY CAN'T DISNEY EXECUTS ASK THEMSELVES QUESTIONS THAT ACTUALLY MATTER TO THE ENJOYMENT OF THEIR AUDIENCE!?
This is why Disney is going under, if you make good things the money will roll in even if it takes awhile and it will become beloved IP. You need to be willing to have things flop, Hunchback of Notre Dame and Treasure Planet didn't sell like Disney wanted it to due to their own shitty marketing of the films but are beloved cult classics today with people willing to see revivals. In conclusion I don't have high hopes for Disney being able to even attempt at making Mickey Mouse & Friends and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit fans content and satisfied. At this point just watch the Oswald shorts and play Epic Mickey then go to Tumblr and Ao3, you won't be missing out on anything.
#might be a bit cynical but I am ready for disappointment#I deeply hope it's at least good and fuels more people into the fandom to actually give Oswald the revamps he deserves#fuck disney#oswald the lucky rabbit#mickey mouse and friends#was Walt Disney himself a terrible person and a capitalist? yes but at least he had innovation and charisma#the higher ups in Disney are just capitalist and terrible#probably never even in touched a brush to draw in their lives#oswald the lucky rabbit fandom literally carrying this man on their back through scorching deserts and blistering winds#love the fandom

[for the @calaisreno May Promptasmagorah; cw for schmoop like whoa.]

John, for a split-second, thinks he's hallucinating. He's knackered to the point of swaying on his feet from a double shift followed by-- because apparently he'd been a bastard in a past life-- a bloody 'morale building' staff meeting that had made him want to gouge his eyes out.
Alright, he also might be a bastard in this life. But the point is, he hears Sherlock's voice despite there being no Sherlock in the room.
'Ibn is a rather naughty horse, isn't he?'
The sound is tinny but discernible, and John fwumps down into his chair to eye the baby monitor. The camera is aimed at Rosie's cot, of course, so it's mostly Sherlock's shoulder as he leans over with a book. John's tired brain flips through the rolodex of bedtime stories until it hits upon the one with a big white horse named, of all things, Ibn Rafferty.
'But he is fun to ride, and nice to everyone while being ridden.'
He hears Sherlock pause. 'Do you know, Rosamund, that's arguably the first definition of chivalry.'
John blinks. Not where he'd thought that was going, but all right.
'The word "chivalry" is derived from the Old French term "chevalerie,"' Sherlock continues. 'And it was meant to describe soldiers who fought on horseback.'
John snorts. His daughter is brilliant, obviously, but there's not a chance in hell she's understanding this. Unless Sherlock is drawing some truly impressive illustrations off-camera. Which, he supposes, is disturbingly plausible.
'These soldiers became standards of good behaviour, you see. On a horse, you're much taller than everyone else, aren't you? And horses can kick, or be otherwise very rude. So, the guideline for chivalry became, essentially, don't be rude to people who don't have a horse.'
'Don't be rude,' Rosie echoes, and John supposes that's what he'd want her to get out of this lesson, really.
But Sherlock's not finished. 'It had many iterations, of course, but eventually became a ritualised outlook on romantic love.'
John's brows shoot up. He'd've thought this subject to be one Sherlock would delete. Courtly love will likely never solve him a case, after all.
'One of the rituals, for example, was the High Minnie.'
Rosie is interested enough to ask through a yawn: 'Minnie Mouse?'
Sherlock chuckles. 'No, m-i-n-n-e. German. "Hohe Minne" colloquially means "high love."'
Yeah, clearly Sherlock is aware John can hear him. Even he's not going to use the word "colloquially" for the benefit of a toddler.
'It's when a knight-- the person on the horse-- goes through a series of trials to prove their love to someone. For instance, being willing to sacrifice themself to save the person they love. Making a long journey fraught with peril and hurt. Taking on a mighty monster.'
John's tired old heart clenches in his chest. Sherlock knows he's listening, all right.
'Now,' the detective continues, 'in the stories, after all these trials fail to win their beloved's heart, the knight finally accepts that their love is unrequited.'
He pauses. Rosie, John can see in the monitor, is languid with sleep, caught by Sherlock's rich voice and about to go under.
'And when love is unrequited, it can hurt very badly. But the knight knows those sacrifices were worth it, in the end, regardless. Because that's simply what love is, sometimes.'
John rubs absently at his chest. It's too much, he's so tired and so in love that it's almost too much.
On the monitor, Rosie's little brows seem to scrunch together, and she moves, rolls a little towards Sherlock. Who chuckles, wry but warm, as he rubs her tummy. 'It's alright, little bumble. Sometimes the knight does get their love, in the end. And it's the best reward in the world.' The shape of him on the screen leans in and kisses Rosie softly. 'Especially when it comes with little girls named Watson.'
John finds he has to look away from the monitor. His eyes are stinging, and now it's not just from exhaustion.
'You're a menace, Sherlock Holmes,' he calls quietly as he hears the stairs creak faithfully under Sherlock's socked feet.
'I know,' the detective says as he crosses the room. He leans on the arms of John's chair and kisses him briefly, their mouths clinging. 'But you found me worthy, in the end.'
'In the end, in the beginning, in the middle,' John counters. Sherlock raises an eyebrow. 'Alright,' John concedes. 'Maybe not in the middle, there, for a bit.' His smile is slow but genuine. 'But you prove yourself with every nappy, every boring case, every time you think before you throw yourself to the wolves.'
'I do try,' Sherlock deflects, his skin heating up. They've both about reached their limit for sentiment for the evening, John thinks.
'Then shut up and try this, you bastard.' And he pulls Sherlock down once more.
[❤️]
[I did mediaeval re-creation for 15 years, so this is where my brain went when I saw the prompt. The book Sherlock's reading from is 'Our Animal Friends at Maple Hill Farm' by Alice & Martin Provensen. I learned of hohe minne in Leverage 4x15, 'The Lonely Hearts Job.']

wow you really love disney metafiction
Well yes Who Framed Roger Rabbit always fascinated me as a kid, what adaptions would our world have what would change if our characters really existed and lived beside us would Disney be as greedy as it is if Mickey Mouse was actually owner over it it instead of Bob Iger being CEO nd Investors having their claws in it? Would Bugs be the owner of Warner or would he be chilling as an A-list celebrity who is a known as a beloved LGBTQA Drag Queen and Genderfluid Veteran?
Mickey and Minnie married off screen and dating on screen?
Looney Tunes known as chaos incarnate but they're a giant family
Bugs and Daffy adopted the Animaniacs because they had no home
Are Bugs and Daffy together off screen?
What would shape each toon into their On Screen and off-screen selves creating that divide?
What would the huge differences be? Maybe some have kids others are married and some have entire seperate family?
How would humans react to these guys as a species that has a bad record of looking down upon people?
Mickey and Bob Iger having a I absolutely despise you but I have to tolerate you relationship
Off screen the Warner siblings are actually related to Oswald and Ortensia explaining the Animaniacs' strange unidentifiable appearances,
Like the possibilities are endless and vast, there's just so much unexplored due to the fact companies can't share at all anymore and they don't think live action hybrids are useful
Chip and Dale 2022 resparked it for me, a lot of ideas going a million miles, like if I had finances I'd be getting reference shots to use for test fan animation just for the fun of it, cause it fascinates me that much,
And while you call it metafiction it's actually just cartoons meeting our reality seriously go check out the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit that movie right there shows what exactly I'm talking about and here I'll even include some screenshots of a couple films that do this

Bugs Bunny Focus for Back in Action cuz honestly I think this is his most iconic look besides the Viking look when it comes to his drag and honestly the line normally I play the love interest is just amazing
Roger and Eddie(played by Bob Hoskins) in Who Framed Roger Rabbit

Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers 2022

This is the adaption I was talking about earlier look at Ellie next to the apartment building for small toons. She's as tall as it, while Chip and Dale are the perfect size for it, unlike Who Framed Roger rabbit Chip and Dale takes place in the modern day that's what hooked me to create a modern AU it's all so fascinating,

You can't see it in that shot but Dale is driving a full-blown human sized car that has been adapted for Chipmunks I'm not joking, however their movie shows how wildly different everybody can look from each other especially in the modern day when CG is a thing. Chip is still clearly 1990s 2D animated while Dale decided to get a CGI redesign
Like if Mickey and Minnie are only two feet tall and if he's the big boss on set yeah it's really funny to me to imagine him running around Disney and trying to picture every single Studio adapting to these Toons and their various size differences
Again there is just so so much that has been untapped with this genre, because Studios cannot get along long enough to tap into it

I won't lie to any of you. I'm extremely biased when it comes to Dr. Cortex's relationship with Nina. I sincerely think Cortex is her biological parent and he's hiding it from people. Yes, it is only a headcanon, but it's one I feel very strongly about.
Nina Cortex's creation comes from a time where, for some reason, it was very common for cartoon characters to have nieces and nephews, but not sons or daughters. Giving any indication that a beloved character has had sex and successfully reproduced was rare. Here's some examples from Disney: Donald Duck has three nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Mickey Mouse has two nephews, Morty and Ferdie. Daisy Duck has three nieces named April, May, and June. Minnie Mouse has two nieces named Millie and Melody. Goofy, the only father in that entire group, has a single son named Max.
Admittedly, there is charm in having Nina and her uncle's actual relationship being ambiguous, but I would love to see a big reveal where it turns out Cortex IS Nina's dad and it's been a dark family secret he's been keeping. My headcanon is that Cortex slept with one of his brothers' wives and she gave birth to Nina nine months later. Considering Cortex has been known to have relations with married women (see Crash Tag Team Racing's credit gags), it would be completely in Cortex's character to do this.
And as much as I hate the idea of Nina going through trauma discovering that the uncle who chopped her hands off is actually her father... it would be a very compelling turning point for her character. It would probably destroy her relationship with Dr. Cortex... but their relationship has never exactly been a healthy one. Maybe Cortex could learn a valuable lesson from the fallout...
It really sucks how there's so much that could be done with Crash Bandicoot characters storywise, but instead of getting actual games about that stuff, WE GET ACTIVISION AND MICROSOFT'S MONEY-HUNGRY BULLSHIT.

Profiles in Villainy
The Phantom Blot
The master criminal known as The Phantom Blot is a vain and diabolical cad whose desire for money and power is only surpassed by his need to immortalize his name in ‘the annals of crime.’ The Blot’s lust for power and fame have led to countless nefarious schemes that range from simple theft to attempts to conquer the entire world.
Shrewd and cunning, there is no crime too outrageous nor bold for The Phantom Blot. He is a master of disguise and a brilliant inventor; he can hypnotize with a mere glare and can escape any prison or bindings… a frightening fink to be certain!
The Phantom Blot’s villains endeavors have led to numerous confrontations with Mickey Mouse. Oh, how The Blot hates Mickey! He has set dozens of traps and orchestrated all manner of plots in his effort to be rid of Micky Mouse. Through luck and guile Micky has managed to evade these schemes and thwart the Blot’s plans.
Although a thoroughly deplorable scoundrel, The Phantom Blot does have a soft spot for his beloved daughter, The Phantom Brat. The Brat has followed in her father’s footsteps of villainy and aspires to be an even greater menace than her dad.

Aside from Micky Mouse, The Blot has also matched wits with Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, SuperGoof and Scrooge McDuck. While he prefers to work alone or use witless henchmen, The Blot has been known to team up with fellow villains, specifically the Beagle Boys and Mad Madam Mim. Although The Blot would never join forces with Magica DeSpell; for some reason the Blot hates magic and has taken steps to rid the world of all magic, witchcraft and sorcery.
The Phantom Blot has also run afoul of the Ducktales crew and his plans of world conquest have been foiled by Donald Duck’s nephews and niece, Huey, Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby.
Actors Frank Welker, John O’Hurley and Giancarlo Esposito have each voiced the sinister Phantom Blot. The villain first appeared in a 1939 comic strip entitled Micky Mouse Outwits the Phantom Blot. His first animated appearance was in an episode of the original run of Ducktales called ‘All Ducks on Deck,’ originally airing on December 30th, 1987.
