Once saw a pjo Fan comment that Ares was Zeus favourite son because of trials of Apollo and I died inside a little bit. So enjoy my rant about it
1. Apollo in nearly every single myth is described as his dads favourite. No beating around the bush that’s his favourite son (and highly likely child).
2. The Iliad (basic Greek mythology reading) has Zeus tell everyone in the council that Ares is his least favourite child (most likely in all the Gods too)
3. Ares is incredibly loyal to his mother and through many texts (that aren’t biased towards Athena) is seen to love his siblings a whole lot, no matter what his mother says about them. In the myth of him getting abducted by the twin giants who were threatening to r@pe his mother and sister (Artemis) and to force them to marry them. Ares was angered by this and scared for this and tried to fight them by himself leading to his capture, torture and in some tales even r@pe until Hermes rescued him
4. He is the only God (in my memory) to not have ever sa ANYONE. Every single relationship was consensual and is the only man in his family to ever do so with Zeus, Hermes, Hephaestus, Apollo, Hades, Poseidon and Dionysus all having sa people
5. One thing that boils my blood the most though in pjo is his treatment of his children. Ares was despised by his father and his mother put a lot of pressure on him to be perfect for her legacy, causing him to act out a lot and be perceived as vicious and brutal. In every myth though he never wanted his children to feel the same way he did and was apart of every single one of his child’s life.
Hope you enjoyed my rant!!!! And if not well then idk what you want from me

thinking about the art of reclaiming slurs, and how much things have changed in around 40 generations, and how much things have stayed the same.
i would have been called ergi back then much as i am called contemporary slurs today. but now, i see both sets of words, and i have no impulse to 'defend my honour'; i am, and to be is an honour in itself. i may not have had the ability to do that way back, but i have to wonder if any of my ancestors did, privately, feel as i feel.

Witchy Red Flag #1: It’s weird to name yourself after a deity.
Like, it’s one thing to be named like that by your parents, you didn’t have any say in that matter. That’s not what I’m ranting about today. It’s a different thing entirely to choose your craft name/witch name to be that of a deity and it’s strange. Essentially you’re telling everyone else that you view yourself as being on the same level as sed deity. In my experience, I’ve only known people who do this to have insane god complexes and very fragile egos.
I can imagine that some deities also take this as an insult lmao. I’m sure some of them think it’s cool too, but still ive never encountered someone who does this and isn’t insufferable sooooo…I can’t imagine that there are many deities who like this.
Also examples like Aphrodite who will wreck people if they compare her to other women/deities exist like hello lmao
Now that I’m back on this blog, let’s celebrate by pissing some people off 💀 I plan on making this “witchy red flags” a series of sorts, so buckle up.
did y’all miss me? 😈

For those who don't know from my general art accounts, I got myself an eInk tablet that I use for organization, and also for doodling!
These are just a few that are DEITIES-related -- since they feature Set, Sobek, Bastet, and Yamm -- but they're mostly involving AU interactions with others' characters. Some were friend requests, while others were just cuz \ e v e )/
These are moderately cleaned up in Clip Studio, but I kept the monochrome greys from the tablet. Some more commentary details can be found in my ongoing Twitter thread for my eInk sketches, and in my Ko-fi gallery -- but I'll share them under the cut as well for posterity.
DEITIES Website: deitiesproject.com
---
...Y'know, just in case anything happens to twitter in the near future ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
[1] Pirate!Set -- who's outfit was originally designed by @oiichyo -- and Pirate!Cy, who belongs to Jinkzdraws @ Twitter.
[2] Set and Rami shenanigans, the latter also belongs to Jinkz. This is the same fox kid from my earlier pencil sketches from last year.
[3] Sobek with several of his feline friends, including Bastet and other kitties belonging to Jinkz. For anyone wondering -- clockwise from the top it's Bastet, Soleil, Anahi, Lalaca, and Haiku in their cat forms.
[4] Something that would have even worked for Mermay lmao. Jinkz's Indra and AU!Yamm (emphasis on "AU") indulging in some banter.
[5] A duc-- a goose deity name Jorah, who belongs to Whotisthisart @ Twitter, interacting with some other divine friends (Shazi, Indra, and Sobek). No public art to link to yet, but his markings here are based on the Egyptian goose.

biggest pet peeve is trying to learn about goddesses and they’re reduced to a “dark goddess” with “three sides, mother, maiden, and crone.” they’re so much more complex than that! they can’t be reduced to wiccan ideals! i know that these goddesses have many aspects but do we have to reduce every unconventional, “dark” (which is a stupid way to describe them) goddess to a wiccan stereotype!

Hot take: Gojo who actively dated after the worse moments of his life is heartwarming. He still took a chance regardless of the sentimentality that was shattered, the desire to be close to those around him, it's just really cute to think deep down he held normal yearning like everyone else. So much of the time it is emphasized he is the greatest, the strongest, it's easy to forget he really was just a 28 year old man.

Been hunting for this POS since Sunday. Wrote the prayer Tuesday night on a post it. Finally found it today in a place me and my partner both checked 3 times between us.
