Known as the Electronic Fairy, this reserved girl is the youngest Federation captain in history. Due to her genius intellect and live combat experience from the Jovian War, climbing the ranks was a trivial task for her. Nominally the main character of the Prince of Darkness movie, but shares this position with another character.

Ruri has a pretty standard statline for this game’s battleship captains, save for the unfortunate distinction of having the lowest defense stat of them all. However, this is made up for by the fact that as early as level 8, she gets one of the most powerful Spirit Commands in Super Robot Wars, Enable (再動, allows a unit that has finished its turn to act again). With how expensive it is to cast, she’ll only be casting it once per stage at most, but this early into the game, that’s more than enough. Her other Spirit Commands, while less bombastic, are also all fairly suitable for a support-oriented battleship.

Sadly, she won’t be with us all the way to the end of the game, but as long as she’s around, she can be pretty useful if you use her right.

Fun Fact: Ruri is by far the most overwhelmingly popular character from Nadesico, and has a surprising number of cameos and references in other shows and properties. Two that immediately spring to my mind are Rockman.EXE Beast+ Episode 08 and Megaranger Episode 11, but her feats are such that she was even featured on an official traffic safety poster made by the Japanese government (shown below).

An experimental successor to the Nadesico fielded during the Jovian War, this ship was made with the “One-Man Operation System Plan” in mind; though it’s properly staffed as any battleship would be both in the movie and in this game, theoretically this ship could function with just Ruri aboard... though perhaps that would speak more to Ruri's own expertise than necessarily the ship's qualities.

With its Distortion Field and decent Armor, it’s not hard to keep alive at all, which is good since you have to lug it along to the front lines or risk your Aestivalis units running out of juice, and since, like all battleships, if it gets shot down it's an instant Game Over. 

The annoying thing about this ship is that it only has two moves, Gravity Blast and the MAP version of Gravity Blast. Though these are far from weak, all Nadesico enemies are also equipped with Distortion Fields, which negate all Gravity Blast attacks that would deal less than 2500 damage, meaning that if you pick the Nadesico route after this stage, it will likely be completely worthless offensively unless you sink at least two upgrade bars on its weapons. Making matters worse, despite being a battleship that you can’t really afford to not move as long as your force deploys Aestivalis units, it has no Post-Movement weapons.

This specific ship won’t be with you to the end of the game, but most of its issues will.

Fun Fact: This ship is equipped with the same AI that the original Nadesico from the Jovian War had, Omoikane.

Voice Actor: Shin'ichiro Miki

A former Jovian Army soldier. Three years after the resolution of the Jovian War, he seems to have a completely different personality, having gone from your run-of-the-mill hot-blooded anime fanatic to a smooth playboy with long bleached hair. However, in truth, this was originally just meant to be a disguise; a mission of his required him to fake an identity as a surfer in Oiso, Japan, and he just never really left the disguise behind. Despite seemingly taking a liking to his new playboy persona, deep down he still retains the same passion for mecha anime and sense of discipline that his time on Jupiter instilled into him.

He’s… he’s also disturbingly used to telling his underage Captain and subordinate off-color jokes.

A fairly unnoteworthy Real Robot pilot, save for his somewhat lackluster evasion stat, but it’s nothing that his naturally dodgy Super Aestivalis can’t make up for. His Ranged stat is notably stronger than his Melee, which is a tad unfortunate as his machine’s finishing move is Melee-attribute, but his Melee still isn’t low by any means so it’s nothing too serious. His biggest draws are learning Luck (幸運, doubles the amount of money you get if you shoot down an enemy with this unit’s next attack) and Valor (熱血, doubles amount of damage this unit deals on its next attack) very early, making him integral to boss-slaying in the early game.

An interesting touch is that he learns Wall (鉄壁), something much more fit for a Super pilot. Perhaps he’s been inspired to walk the path of the Super Robot by his beloved Gekiganger 3? Sadly, his low Defense stat and lack of the Potential (底力) skill means you can’t really pull off any particularly impressive shenanigans with this.

Much like Ruri, he’s not going to stick around until the end.

Fun Fact: His favorite character from the in-universe mecha anime, Gekiganger 3, is the Rikuganger’s pilot, Akira Daichi. Back in his Jovian Army days, he’d wear his cosplay of Akira’s gakuran to the battlefield (as was customary in the Jovian forces). He looked very different back then, didn't he?

Super Aestivalis

Source Material: Martian Successor Nadesico: The Prince of Darkness

Height: 8 meters

Power Source: Gravity Wave Antenna / Backup Battery

A high-performance, high-firepower successor to the Aestivalis. It trades the original’s focus on team maneuvers for higher single-unit destructive power, which works just fine for its role as the singular escort for the understaffed experimental battleship Nadesico B.

High base mobility, a Distortion Field to help survivability in the off case you do get hit, and respectable firepower all around. Coupled with Saburouta’s best attributes, it’ll make for a rather powerful early game boss killer. Just remember to keep it within the Gravity Wave Emitter’s range.

Amusingly, any upgrades made to this unit will carry over onto a completely unrelated character's machine later on. There's really no in-universe way to justify it, but perhaps the connection between the two is due to a shared hobby of theirs...?

Fun Fact: This machine’s design is heavily inspired by the specs and operation data of the CEO of Nergal’s own personal Aestivalis unit. Sadly (?), that person will not be making an appearance in this game.

instead of carrying on in the grand, majima is offered another way out of the hell that he is currently living, kijin clan's patriarch, homare nishitani sees the potential in majima, & offers him a spot within his clan, therefore majima becoming yakuza again much faster than he would have in the past. majima would have actually had zero repercussions here since shimano had originally planned to sell out the tojo clan, & would be killed off in other ways for his betrayal to the clan, but instead, nishitani would capture the man, & present him to majima as a welcoming gift, majima is the one who gets to off shimano, sagawa's assassination would have still went forward as well.

TIMELINE

since this will alter the timeline by a bit, & events of it, here are the differences.

LAD0 ( age 24-31 ) ;

joins the kijin clan, has to work his way up the ranks, but he's a favourite of nishitani's so this isn't a difficult task for him to do. he becomes their main enforcer, like he was in shimano's family. instead of earning the nickname mad dog of shimano, he earns the nickname guard dog of kijin.

LAD1 ( age 31-41 ) ;

majima has been within the kijin clan long enough now, & has earned the spot of captain, right under nishitani in rank, meaning he will succeed nishitani as patriarch when he passes, & is able to make a start on his own family within the clan. members such as nishida, kawamura, & minami will still be prominent members under majima's family. kiryu will be less of a friendly rival, but an actual enemy in this verse. majima will be like nishitani though, he will try convincing kiryu over.

LAD2 ( age 42 ) ;

the main difference here is that he wouldn't start up his construction company as he has no reason to. he would have been requested to assist the go-ryu clan in taking tokyo from the tojo clan.

LAD3 ( age 42-44 ) ;

these years are calm which allows majima to build up his family more, without much chaos happening.

LAD4 ( age 45 ) ;

majima is actually terrified for his life here as he hears of saejima breaking out of jail, & the fact that he is definitely considered a traitor to not only his oath brother, but to the tojo clan too, majima knows that one of them will be dead within the year.

note ; this is left open, but ultimately, majima will likely have to kill saejima here, but for saejima roleplayers, they can fight, & maybe majima tells saejima of the abuse he faced from shimano, & sagawa which can have saejima consider his options, & maybe decide to join the omi alliance, so he can be with his oath brother, or they can remain enemies.

LAD5 ( age 48 ) ;

the events of this year will carry out the same as it did, but majima will not be announced dead since he is with the omi alliance, he also took nothing to do with mirei park in marriage.

Day 12 Omi Shrine

The day started early, because we had to leave the apartment at 10:00. In the end, we probably left just after nine, making our way to Kyoto to drop our luggage, before heading over to Otsu (Lake Biwa).

Last Monday, we found loads of coin lockers available at Kyoto station, so what could go wrong?... holy cow, how can all those coin lockers be filled this early in the morning! We walked all around the station, but could not find a single available locker to store our suitcases.

In the end, we decided to just drag our suitcases to Otsu station and pray to find an empty locker there. Then, as our train slid out of Kyoto station, we noticed an abundance of empty coin lockers on platform zero! Crap!!

To our dismay, Otsu had no coin lockers available. The very few it had were already taken, so... We boarded a train back to Kyoto station. (Haha... Eh...) There we dropped our luggage in one of the empty lockers on platform zero and went on our way again. I suppose the ones on the platform are so empty, since they really are only useful to those who will leave via Kyoto station again on the same day (and before 20:00).

All in all we lost quite a bit of time with this little dance. So, adjustments to the plans had been made. My leisure walk by the lakeside was cut, Miidera crossed of the list and eventually I redirected our route to Otsukyo station, from where we walked toward Omi Shrine.

It was quite pretty, but overrun by parents and children for their shichigosan ceremonies, so... It felt a bit odd to be looking around. As a result our visit was rather brief.

From there we walked over to the nearest station, Minami-Shiga. And grabbed the train to Sakamoto-Hieizanguchi.

Despite the delay in my plans , I very stubbornly held onto my plans to actually climb the mountain, up to Enryakuji, instead of riding the cable car (as my husband would.)

Along the way I certainly questioned myself a few times why the plan had been to climb the mountain via the Honzaka trail, rather than descending. Which would have arguably been easier... Just to remind myself I chose this order, because otherwise I might have ended up on a dark trail due to sunset coming earlier than expected.

Anyway, the trail was pretty, but really pushed me to my limits again. Or maybe I'm just trying to go to quickly and that's what's breaking me up. Official maps say the trail should take roughly 2 hours, but I reached the top after a single hour... I just feel that if I went any slower, I wouldn't be making any progress... Of the weather had been nicer, I might have taken a few more breaks though... It is a pretty rough trail though.

Hey! In honor or spooky season and my recent haunted world trip, may I have the A3! Boys (any assortment up to you) reactions to a s/o whos terrified before going into the haunted house like completely horrified but then once they go in the S/O isn't afraid of anything? I found out recently that anticipation absolutely kills me, but like a actual good spooks from a quality haunted house does little to nothing to scare me lol.

All righty! Here we are going to divide the whole dorm into three big groups:

The ‘I was kind of worried about you some more than others, but if you say you’re okay...’ group: Yuki, Misumi, Tsuzuru, Omi, Tasuku Juza, Sakyo, Tsumugi, Hisoka

Yuki

He would never understand how you can go from being terrified to okay

Just a few moments ago you were almost stopping the circulation in his hand? Now you are looking around humming, geez 

After glancing at you, seeing you really are fine, he focuses his attention on the next thing he loves most: clothes

He’s SO disappointed though

“Those are some low-quality clothes, is this their way to scare us?”

“They won’t fool me even if everything is dark”

“Why should I, it’s only their mix of red and pink what makes me shudder”

Smiling and swinging his arms the whole time

Tsuzuru is good with haunted houses but doesn’t want you to force yourself

You assure him you are okay and so, when he sees you are calm after entering, looking around even slightly excited, he smiles

Is he really going to keep smiling though

Everything is cool until someone in a clown costume jumps at his face??

Just like the next one, and the next…

“Why do they keep jumping only on me?!”

“Tsuzuru, calm-”

Another shriek comes from behind him

“DON’T ‘TSUZURU’ ME Y/N, WHY ARE THEY LIKE THIS”

He ends up exhausted as you pat him in the back on the way out

Yes, you are not scared at all now, but this one still goes full mom-mode, taking your hand through the haunted house.

“Look Y/N, that’s an awesome decoration, right?”

“Omi, I’m fine, don’t try to distract me”

He slightly scolds the actors with a smile when they shout and holds you close to him

“Omi, we are dating, you are not my caretaker”

“Haha, you are right”

“...”

“Would you like to go to eat after this? It’s been-”

“OMI”

Omi protection squad 24/7, whether it’s necessary or not

Tasuku

Thinks the whole concept of entering even if you are scared is stupid, but agrees to enter 

Surprised to see you better the moment it starts but doesn’t comment on it

A monster appears. You tilt your head. Tasuku hums

“I see… but I still think coming from behind and surrounding us would have come across better”

"Tasuku, stop focusing on the acting for once”

There’s an awkard silence between you three

Tasuku stares at you, and then at the confused monster

“...I’m just saying the reaction would have been better if-“

Juza

He was worried about you as you both waited in line

You really looked horrified

Now… you are fine? You are not making it up are you

He tenses at the shrieks though, trying to remain composed to save face

“Juza, are you breathing?”

You almost can’t walk with your boyfriend so close

End up laughing as he holds you so he doesn’t beat up anyone that randomly appears by instinct

Sakyo

He dragged entering inside because you looked too scared

Why would you even do that to yourself, are you an idiot? You pressed you just needed to do it

“I won’t be waiting for you to caught up, understood?”

“A-all right!”

After seeing you are okay though, he’s low-key glad you are enjoying it

Plus, he doesn’t have to deal with any shouting

You discover nothing phases him??

“Care to repeat yourself”

After one glare from him, the actors are also quick to back off

Tsumugi kept telling you to leave the queue, you didn’t have to do it

But after entering you look fine? 

“Are you sure you are okay, Y/N? We can still...”

You laugh, “I’m fine, Tsumugi”

You convince him to relax and enjoy the attraction. Maybe he follows your comment too much

“That murdering scene was really well done!”

“Y/N, look the way they try to fight the killer in such a tiny space”

“I need to remember how great they...”

You are not sure if you are in a haunted house with your boyfriend or watching streets acts in a closed place

Hisoka

You both just walk like it’s a walk across the park until one monster appears

He looks so deadpan you are glad you were not scared

Who knows what would have happened if you had had to drag him around the place scared

“Hisoka, you okay?”

“Mhm, this place just… makes me sleepy”

“Makes you what now”

Hisoka just leans on you every chance he gets

You both unconciously damaged the ego of the actors

Itaru keeps asking you if you are okay after you both enter

He laughs under your deadpan stare

After a while you notice he’s not near you anymore?? “Itaru? If you try to do something weird...”

“Y/N, this looks just like the zombie armor of my last gameplay…GG”

He’s curious to see how you would react because before entering it looked like you were on your way to death

Glancing at you now, everything looks fine? He’s sad he can’t tease you

He looks at you, smiling in silence for a while “You look better than before, I’m glad”

There’s nothing that would stop him now, you had given him enough material as you waited anxiously on the line anyway

You swear, you can’t take HIM ANYWHERE

He thought you would be scared so somehow gets bored when you don’t jump what the hell Banri

His solution? entertain himself with the place

Pretends to get a panic attack and flips off the actors

So, this was inspired by these two videos:

And that got the gears in my head turning and I just went with it, so here it is!

A few key things:

There are three VA/Seiyuus per character because I didn't want to overwhelm myself.

Some of the characters will have the same VAs because I thought the voice suited more than one character as well as to get a feel for their characters and because I was lazy about looking at every single VAs filmography.

I also included some of the roles those actors played so that there's some sort of building block for them.

Character Story - Minami [RGGO]

Technically I still have 1 more week of being tumblr AWOL, but since I’m still high off of getting to watch the miracle of life happen live twice yesterday in a bunny suit, I decided to finish tackling this despite the frustrating Kansai speak XD Like Kamulop’s, this story also falls under the “mostly canon” category, aka “canon up until Y6, a Y7 AU where Ichiban meets Minami”. There might be super mild Y7 spoilers (I say “might” because I don’t know enough about the plots of Y:LAD-Y7 and RGGO-Y7 to know where the two plots are similar and where they are different. I do know that RGGO Ichiban is a slightly different person from Y7 Ichiban tho). Thank you to @majimemegoro​ for voting Minami!

Story: Ichiban meets a certain disagreeable drunk in a ramen shop and somewhat unwillingly goes to karaoke with him.

Notes:

1) Not only does Minami use Kansai dialect, he also uses a lot of phrases and suffixes commonly used in Manzai, aka the “Boke and Tsukkomi Routine”, aka the “Straight Man and Wise Guy Routine” done in certain substories in Y2 and Y5. It doesn’t come across all that well in this translation because its all about tone, so i just made the Kansai more obvious. Just imagine his grandiose/exaggerated/comedic way of talking in Y4 :D

2) 餃子 - gyoza in Japanese, jiaozi in Chinese, potstickers/dumplings in English

3) I left in the Romaji lyrics besides the English translation to make it a bit more clear just how out of tune Minami is lol

Store Clerk: “Yes sir.”

???: “Oi, Niichan! This beer here. Replace it immediately!”

Kasuga: “Hm? Who’s that guy?”

???: “Ah damn it~! What the hell, what the hell!”

Kasuga: “Tch, is he drunk . . .”

Store Clerk: “Yes! The beer will be a moment!  . . . Sorry. That customer is in that condition all the time.”

Kasuga: “I see. You have your work cut out for you.”

???: “Damn it, I can’t be satisfied unless I sing a song. Oi, store clerk! Don’tcha have karaoke?”

Store Clerk: “Customer, don’t make a ruckus. This is a ramen shop, remember?”

???: “Shut up! In that case, let me sing without permission. Yeah? Huh?! ♪ Let’s! Get! To the Toooop!! ♪”

Kasuga: “Shut up, idiot.”

???: “Hmm? What, Niichan? Ya wanna sing along?”

Kasuga: “You’re being noisy. Idiot.”

???: “Huuh? Are ya stupid? Haw . . . you have guts. Ya lookin’ for a fight with me, Minami Daisaku?! Let’s take this outside!”

{Ichiban and Minami take it outside and have a manly brawl.}

Minami: “Wh-What . . . you’re hella strong.”

Kasuga: “Take this as a lesson to eat your meals silently.”

Minami: “. . . I can’t go without singing when drinking alcohol. With the Tojo Clan driven out by the Omi, this city has changed a lot . . .”

Kasuga: “What did you . . . are you yakuza? Of the Tojo Clan?”

Minami: “Are ya the same? . . . Then, ya understand why I can’t get by without drinking alcohol?”

Kasuga: “. . . Tch. If you want to forget your woes that much, go to karaoke by yourself.”

Minami: “Fool! I can’t go alone!”

Kasuga: “Why . . .”

Minami: “You see, if ya seclude yourself in a private room with no one to insert interjections, you’ll become miserable! Someone should go with me . . . hm?”

Kasuga: “What are you staring at me for?”

Minami: “He’s right . . . here!”

Kasuga: “Oi, oi . . . Why do I have to go out with you?!”

Minami: “Are we not friends after our fight? Huh? Sorry to bother ya.”

Kasuga: “You’ve bothered me enough already!”

{Ichiban gets slowly dragged away by Minami.}

Minami: “Just for a while, let’s go!”

Kasuga: “Oi, don’t pull at my clothes! Oi, damn it!”

Minami: “Huh?! The sound disappeared . . . did the karaoke machine break down?”

Kasuga: “I disconnected it.”

Minami: “Huuh? What’s that?”

Kasuga: “Forgive me. I couldn’t bear to listen to it anymore.”

Minami: “Whaddya say? . . . Then you can sing too.”

Kasuga: “I’ll pass . . .”

Minami: “What? Is it because ya aren’t confident?”

Kasuga: “Stupid guy, don’t you know I have a beautiful voice?”

Minami: “Then play against me! A karaoke match!”

Kasuga: “. . . Fine.”

Minami: “Haa, haa . . . shut up! This is to show respect and imitate my patriarch.”

Kasuga: “Patriarch?”

Minami: “Yup, Majima-no-oyaji.”

Kasuga: “Majima . . . ?”

Minami: “That person, the head of the Tojo Clan direct line’s Majima Family, Majima Goro!”

Kasuga: (Is this guy really a Tojo Clan member . . .)

Minami: “I’m doing a Kansai dialect to follow my Boss’s example. To ridicule it is the same as ridiculing him. Haa . . . be that as it may, I’m really a no-good person. Losing in fights, losing at karaoke . . . If I’m like this, it’s impossible to protect this city . . . Haa . . . I can’t do it . . .”

Rance ~Shinjitsu no Rance~ Drama Collection (Rance ~真実のランス~ ドラマコレクション/Real Rance) is a Drama CD based upon the Rance Series. It was originally released on April 4th, 1996, but then later re-released on February 23rd, 2000. It was published by Compass and distributed by Pioneer.

It has an original story unique to the drama, with new characters introduced in it as well. It is set in the old canon, namely around the time of Rance III. The music played is mostly taken from Rance IV.

Rance and Sill have the same voice actors as they did in the Rance: The Desert Guardian OVA. Some voice actors from the OVA also make appearances here.

The 2020 Taiga Drama will depict the life of Mitsuhide under Nobunaga’s rule. It’s said that the theme or motif of the title ‘Kirin”, “ 如何にして何れの英雄の前に現れる “ ---  how the appearance of the “kirin (horned beast) will foretell a hero’s story. 

Kirin somehow symbolizes two things: 

1) A beast summoned to slay another beast  2) A premonition of passing sage or leader 

Based on these, it’s similar to how Mitsuhide is seen: a loyal Ashikaga retainer or of Oda. 

Kazama Shunsuke (4TOPS; Johnny’s Ent) is Tokugawa Ieyasu, Osamu Mukai as Ashikaga Yoshiteru, and  Sasaki Kuranosuke as Hashiba (Toyotomi) Hideyoshi ----> This is new! A very tall Hideyoshi.  With Sasaki Kuranosuke as Hideyoshi, I can somehow see that they will paint a villanous streak here.
