This is White Hall Mill, built in 1900 in Athens, GA and it's been converted into condos. The unit for sale has 1bd, 1ba, and is listed for $529,900 + $496mo. HOA. (Man, housing prices are way out of control.) Let's look inside.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, the entrance is cute, but they've got it all furnished. The buyer has to picture their own stuff in here. Like, my furniture doesn't look like this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wow, this is very industrial. Looks like they just sprayed it white, put in some new plumbing, and let it go at that.
Tumblr media
The large faux fireplace built for a modern electric unit looks weird to me.
Tumblr media
Interesting exposed and broken brick on the wall. The paint covers the details up, though.
Tumblr media
According to the description, the loft can be used as a 2nd bedroom.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The kitchen was recently refreshed. I like the black cabinetry, but it looks like they painted over outdated oak cabinets and added new hardware.
Tumblr media
I still say this fireplace looks strange. Like a giant piano.
Tumblr media
They've got a lot of stuff in here.
Tumblr media
This is nice, the bedroom is separated by a sliding door.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Huge bedroom.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The 3 pc. bath is nice, but small, and you have to walk thru the bedroom to get to it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They do have a 2nd bedroom in the loft and it's big enough for 2 large beds.
Tumblr media
The complex is bigger than I thought.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I thought it was the 1st unit, but it may be the last. It's on the banks of a muddy looking North Oconee River, but I like how the property curves. The woodsy opposite shore must look nice in summer.

I know Charles and Crystal’s kiss in 1x04 has been analysed to the moon and back already, but I feel like there’s something to be said about the fact that it’s spurred on by the line “I just want something that’s real”.
Something about how the most real thing in Crystal’s life at that point is a ghost drowning in emotions?? A ghost just as desperate for something real. And yet the most real thing he felt like he could give her was a kiss that he had to construct halfway in his head.
And yeah, just because Charles isn’t quite as tangible doesn’t mean he’s any less real than Crystal. But ghosts are just snapshots in time, they’re emotions made manifest. That’s in their very nature. Does he feel that gap? Based on where she’s at at that point in her arc (spending half the episode believing her mother’s calling out to her, that there’s more waiting for her out there), does she feel like she’ll take what she can get, in the moment?
A ‘why not, what do I have to lose’ kiss and a ‘goodbye, time to close this photo album’ kiss. When do either of them get something real.

Heads Up, Seven Up!
Tagged by @jomiddlemarch & @aloveforjaneausten; thank you so much, kind friend!
RULES: Post the last 7 sentences that you wrote.
The place Burke had in mind to pull over, it turned out, was an old fort on a bend in the Penobscot: either built into the rock or hewn out of it, Vicki could scarcely tell from the little parking lot. In the distance behind, she could still see the green towers and cables of the bridge they had just driven across; the noise of the coastal highway made a strange counterpart to the ruins. “Fresh air, or have it out in here?” Burke’s tone was light, but his hands, free of the wheel and gear shift, were apprehensive. “Fresh air,” she said, considering, “I’d like to see something of this place, and I’d still like to think before I say anything.” He nodded. Outside of the car, Vicki huddled into her coat, and put her hand in his pocket.

On the one hand I think there's value in stories that celebrate a healthy sense of independence and comfort with solitude. Not everyone thrives in familial settings or being paired off romantically. And I think in a way it could've made a lot of sense to see that represented in Lauras ending, especially if she's on the ASPD spectrum like Doctor Harrison diagnosed in 4.1.
BUT LIKE.
her whole arc was spent wanting/resisting/fucking up/grieving human connection. part of me loves the idea of her going off to be a badass fighting for humanity with questionably moral tactics, but maybe a bit of "you need to learn to love yourself before you can learn to love and be loved by others" context would have made her ending make a lot more sense.

What do you think about the Linda tapes?
We'll never know what they say so there's no point in speculating. Paul wouldn't have wanted anything even slightly negative out there, particularly at that time, so there's no reason to assume there were physical abuse allegations or much of anything beyond just normal venting from a frustrated spouse. You also have to keep in mind that, at his level of wealth, a problem you can throw money at is a non-problem. So regardless of how much he paid there's no real reason to think it was some kind of bombshell he absolutely HAD to keep quiet.

I love converted mills, but only if they incorporate the original equipment, and this is a type of mill I've never seen before- it's a corn mill, built in 1810 in Naas, Leinster, Ireland. 6bds, 2full, 2.5bas. $1,793,478
Tumblr media
They converted the building into a home using museum techniques to preserve the inner workings. Am I lovin' that!
Tumblr media
It does feel just like a museum. Look at how they preserved some of the ancient artifacts in glass.
Tumblr media
I like the stone floors. Wonder if they're original. This is the ground level, and there are 5 floors.
Tumblr media
1 of the 2 full baths is spacious and has wonderful large beams.
Tumblr media
This home office is set among the workings of the old mill, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This pretty bedroom is on the ground floor.
Tumblr media
And, so is this cute room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What a beautiful living room. Look at the iron wheels. This is incredible.
Tumblr media
This is stunning.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What a beautiful kitchen. Look at the original floors.
Tumblr media
The kitchen is so large, it has a counter, and a big table, but there's also a large formal dining room.
Tumblr media
On this floor, there's a cozy family room.
Tumblr media
This bedroom has a nice big closet and an en-suite.
Tumblr media
This building is very big. These stairs on the upper floors are spiral, but they look wider than the usual modern styles.
Tumblr media
They primary bedroom is very large and has an en-suite.
Tumblr media
What a pretty courtyard.
Tumblr media
Beautiful grounds.
Tumblr media
This equipment looks current. It must still turn the wheel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's a river and fruit trees on the property.
Tumblr media
The lot measures 3.01 acres.

ME AGAIN:
Honestly what it really comes down to is that there are lines, right?
They make jokes and flirt at the table and have done so from literally episode one. They are friends who like to make jokes about their little guys they made up in their heads falling in love and kissing and having sex. They’ve no doubt discussed what they’re each comfortable with and are okay with it because at the end of the day all of their top priorities is the story they’re telling. The story of the characters.
When we take one character’s arc and reduce it to invented squabbles over which of our respective blorbos deserves to be with Dorian or Orym or Launda or Fearne most… it becomes weird.
well, the shipping is just one part of the racism, to be fair... it's got multiple layers.

it's four am, he doesn't know where to go. everywhere is closed. he should just go home but his feet are taking him to her front door. hand comes up to knock. as he realizes he's swaying, he supports himself on the door frame. this happens every time he tries to mix decision making with one too many drinks. once the door unlocks and swings open, he tries for a drunken smile, takes off his pride and- " tell me if i'm outta line but you're all that i want. i think about you all the time. "For real? I'm getting a retrial?"
"Eh. They're just reviewing your file for now. Baby steps."
"You did that for me and you said nothing. Why?"
"Didn't want to get your hopes up."
"(...) Then we'd better get my lawyer off this hill."
