Los Angeles SAG-AFTRA Vice President, Michelle Hurd, Says They Aren't Calling for a Boycott of Streamers Yet
“I’m not going to say, you know, cancel those streaming platforms yet,” she added. “Maybe there will be a rallying cry. And you know what, if there’s a time where we feel that it’s time for us all to take a step back and stop watching, we will let them know. And if that happens, I really do hope people follow us.”
It does quote her earlier in the article that it's up to the individual, but that SAG-AFTRA isn't calling for that yet. As I have stated elsewhere, others have indicated that it would be better if people cancel at the behest of SAG-AFTRA and the WGA so it's organized, and the executives would know WHY people were cancelling and HOW MANY people were doing so from the "rallying cry."
This article caught Andy Richter's message too:
“Unless the unions come out and call for that, though, please don’t,” he said. “Cancelling streaming services feeds their assertion that streaming is inherently volatile and risky, and that is why they should be able to hire fewer of us and pay us less.”
For if and when a subscription cancellation is called for, or if you have an extra couple of bucks you can donate:
...Michael Gaston, a star and actor in such shows as “Prison Break,” “Jericho” and “The Sopranos,” had a suggestion for the money that people would save if and when a streamer boycott was undertaken.
“Take some of that money, if you’re saving on your subscriptions, take some of that money and give it to some of the charities that are helping out the artists,” said Gaston, who was also picketing Monday in New York and spoke to TheWrap. “There’s something called the Actors Fund. It is now referred to as A Life in the Arts. You can find it on Instagram, they will distribute your donations to people who are going to be most hurt by this strike action.”
Do not boycott yet.
Let the WGA and SAG-AFTRA keep our numbers in their back pocket as leverage. Please.

MTR Dinner Headcanon
• Lucille, Franny and Art are pretty much the best at cooking.
• Being an Italian-American mom, Franny cooks hearty meals that are packed with carbs and protein.
• Art regularly bakes the desserts, usually pie and cheesecake.
• They have their own specialties, Lucille has her homemade cookies, Franny has her spaghetti and meatballs and Art has his Pizzas and Meatloaf.
• Lucille has her own special recipe for German Chocolate Cake and Salted Caramel Custard.
• They’re willingly to give Carl and Lefty a break from cooking every once in a while.
• Billie loves to help out with dinner preparation.
• Wilbur gets scolded by Franny for trying to sneak a piece of dessert before dinner.
• Laszlo and Tallulah aren’t allowed to be in the kitchen after they ruined dinner once during one of their many sibling fights.
• Gaston is also not allowed to be in the kitchen especially since he’s very trigger-happy around meatballs.
• Leftovers in the Robinsons House usually just means food that is still intact on the dining room table during food fights.
• Cornelius sometimes arrives late from work and he gets to peacefully enjoy that day’s leftovers without any of the usual dinner chaos.
• Cornelius installed an addition seat in the dining room for when Mike comes to visit whenever he’s in town.

Part 1 of the Phantom of the Opera specials is now available to watch/listen
youtube
This week we kick of our series of The Phantom of the Opera specials to celebrate the 115th anniversary of the release of the original novel by Gaston Leroux.
Jeff Keller was part of the original Broadway cast of Phantom of the Opera for 17 years. During this time he was understudy to Michael Crawford before eventually becoming first cast Phantom. He also starred as both Andre and later Firmin as well as in many other roles.
During his career he also starred in Fiddler on the Roof with Zero Mostel. Was part of the original cast of Stephen Sondheim's "Sunday in the Park with George" as various characters as well as understudy of Mandy Patinkin and later first cast George in the West Coast premiere. He also created the role of Jacob Marley in Alan Menken's A Christmas Carol. And much more.
In our interview he talks about working with Andrew Lloyd Webber, Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman and Hal Prince. He also shares a few wonderful anecdotes about his time with Zero Mostel and Douglas Fairbanks.

Before the Blizzard--Belle & Patrick
@timeguardians
Continued from here
Patrick only has to listen to the plaintive calls for a few seconds to realize the person searching through these rooms is not his tormentor returning for another round. Whomever she is, she is searching for her father. The soldier’s heart sinks abruptly as he slots a few potential pieces together. There is only one woman he can easily think of who would be searching this ruined hulk for her father. It had to be Maurice’s daughter, the one who the kind old man begged him to find before he succumbed to the cold, and the injuries that should have been inflicted on Patrick. Guilt wells up in Patrick’s chest, mixing with dread about the news he will likely need to deliver in a moment, and concern that the young woman has taken herself into this dangerous situation rather than wait at home for news of her father. The combination is acrid, and his empty stomach rolls dangerously for a moment before he forces it to settle. Now is not the time for those reactions. Right now, he needs to focus on the situation at hand. He can wallow later. A moment later, a thin beam of light heralds the young woman’s arrival as she enters the room. The flickering glow settles over him for a second, prompting a frighted reaction from the young woman. “I’m not going to hurt you!” He tries to reassure her as soon as he sees her recoil in terror. At her tremulous request for his identity, he swallows. “I’m Patrick—Patrick Michaels.” Either his words assure her, or she plucks up her wavering courage on her own. Either way, she carefully raises the light again in an attempt to see better into the gloom. With the way the flame keeps flickering behind the glass, Patrick reckons there’s only a few minutes of light left. Not much time to get them both out of here, then. He glances down at the ropes, his eyes roving over the rough cords as best as he can. “I’m not sure—I’m a stranger around here so I don’t know all the names. I saw the guy around town though—he was a crony to some muscle-bound idiot I got in a fight with at the bar. I guess he figured he would impress the big down in town by dragging me in here.” As he speaks, Patrick debates when it will be a good time to mention Maurice. If this young woman is his daughter, she came here seeking him out. It will be cruel to keep her in suspense any longer than he absolutely has too. But first, he needs to get his arms free so he can defend himself if he needs to. “Can you find anything that can cut through these ropes? Or do you have a knife on you?” He asks the second question in a burst of futile hope. He doubts most women carry knives with them everywhere they go. Patrick had his own knife, but the idiot who tied him up decided to take it. He will have to go get that back when he has a chance—he likes that weapon.
