As I lovingly rewatched this movie I noticed just how spry Framagucci side of the family was; always leaping around while the others mostly walked. It made me wonder if they practice together.

So I've been re-watching Meet the Robinsons for the last week straight. Needless to say, my old hyperfixation has re-emerged. So here are some of my super specific, super random headcanons:
-Cornelius gives me right side of the bed vibes. I don't know why.
-Wilbur is a Leo. You can't change my mind.
-Franny's favorite Disney movie is Princess and the Frog, followed very closely by Mulan and Sleeping Beauty.
-Bud and Lucille really like to play chess. Bud is okay, but Lucille always beats him.
-Cornelius is really close to Gaston, but he's even closer to Art's cooking.
-When Cornelius proposed to Franny, he had her frogs serenade them by a lily pond. His heart was pounding the whole time.
-Cornelius can kick Wilbur's ass at charge ball.
-Cornelius invented charge ball.
-On their anniversary, Cornelius and Franny will go for a ride over the city in their flying car. There might even be some canoodling. 🤭
-When Franny isn't composing or conducting, she has her nose in a book. She really likes ✨️romance✨️ novels. 👀
-Franny has been giving Wilbur karate lessons since he was two.
-Franny is 100% a "my husband" person. She mentions her husband at every opportunity. "My husband did that." "Look what my husband made." "My husband my husband my husband" 🥰
-Cornelius is the same way but with "my wife."
-Cornelius and Franny are champions when it comes to PDA. Wilbur pretends to gag, but deep down he loves it. They only have eyes for each other. 😍
-Wilbur is definitely bi. 🤷‍♀️ (I know this a common headcanon, but I 100% agree 🤣)
-Franny has a doctorate in music, so she and Cornelius are both doctors. 💅

My heart breaks every time I watch Franny Robinson tell the child version of her husband that *another* family is rejecting him
Yes, they want him! He’s so important to them. But I think she knows that to him, as he is? This is another family that doesn’t want him, that finds him lacking.
Franny met Lewis right as he met his forever parents, minutes after!! She built a large and expansive family with him, one that is loud but one that always wants each other. She knows how lonely and dejected he was at that age, how worn down he felt. How much love he had to give and how much love he felt he lacked.
Franny has to look Lewis at the age she met him and tell him this family can’t have him. She can’t even tell him why.

Operation: Joy to the World
A Meet the Robinsons fanfiction by CreativeSoul27 (my FF.net and Ao3 username 😊)
{Summary: Franny's stressed the night before the most important concert of her music career, so Neil devises a plan to cheer his wife up (with Wilbur's help, of course).}
As with my previous MTR fics, this fic is based on a few sketches done by the AMAZING artists who share the blog @elioli-art. I received permission from them to post this fic and to use a small section of their work as the cover art. Thanks so much again, you guys are the best!! 💖💖💖
The art I referenced/used for this fic can be found on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th images in this particular elioli art dump!!

So, an aspect of the Robinsons family I feel like a lot of people overlook is how influential they probably are. Especially Cornelius.
Like, of course, everyone remembers that he's the Father of the Future and all that, but do people realize that the Robinsons are probably one of the most influential, if not the most influential (and rich, let's be honest) family in the world? Cornelius has got to have so many contacts and connections in the entire world, like c'mon.
The reason why I'm mentioning all that is Wilbur. Analyzing his character made me realize that, at least before the movie, he probably was a typical rich kid. Not in the sense of his parents spoiling him, oh no, the scene with "I'm not allowed to look at this thing, let alone drive it! Mom and dad are gonna kill me! And I can tell you this! It will not be done with mercy." makes it pretty clear that there is definitely parental discipline with this kid.
But with others?
Playing the (fairly underrated) MTR videogame gave me a little bit of insight into Wilbur's character before the movie. First of all, he's a little shit, we know that, we love him for it. Second of all, he very well realizes his status as a Robinson. I noticed this little detail, where he makes a point to introduce himself as Wilbur Robinson anytime it might benefit him. And I'm not saying that introducing yourself with your full name isn't normal, but Wilbur seems to do it pointedly any chance he gets.
For example, Julia (Warehouse lady from whom you get useful equipment to progress in the game). I don't really think introducing himself was really neccessary in that situation, supported by Julia's interruption of him, "Kid, I don't have time right now." Except, well, if the lady knew he was a Robinson, it would be more likely she would be willing to lend/give him whatever he needs. (I don't really know if that would work in that specific future, considering that because Cornelius works for Stanley, he tends to get overshadowed by the Emperor. Wilbur doesn't seem to realize that, though.)
And it would make sense! He might not get special treatment from his parents just because they're rich, but he probably might from other people outside his family. Just imagine it, this kid gets into trouble, you scold him and have to sort the situation, but wait what? What did he say? His name is Wilbur Robinson? Oh no, what if his father finds out and makes you lose your job, or something like that?
I'm not saying Cornelius would actually allow Wilbur some sort of imunity or special treatment just because he's his son. If Wilbur caused trouble, he should face the consequences just like any other kid. But other people might not see it that way and at least some of them would definitely be intimidated by Cornelius' influence.
And Wilbur definitely realizes that and I am 100% sure he takes advantage of it. Because after all, even if he's good-natured and well-intended at heart, he's still a mischevious rascal.

Rewatching Meet the Robinsons and all I can think about is how big of a hug Franny must have given Cornelius after getting to spend time with little Lewis. Obviously she knows how hard he had it (I mean just look at how quickly she was prepared to adopt him), but getting to see it first hand all over again? It had to of been heartbreaking for her, especially if you consider the fact that they got to know each other after he got the hope of a family so she didn't see the full extent of it as a kid.

One of the many reasons as to why I love Franny from Meet the Robinsons so much is because of how she is a perfect representation of the idea of becoming the kind of person you wish you had in your own life.
I feel it is pretty safe to assume that Franny didn't have many friends growing up, specially because of how she acts when Lewis meets her back in his own time towards the end of the movie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She seems more than used to people not believing in her ideas and is quick to assume that Lewis will think she is crazy like most people do, so it is very likely the other kids at school either avoid her or make fun of her.
And Future Franny giving Lewis that one 'little tip for the future' before he leaves to go back to his own time kind of reaffirms this in a way.

Tumblr media
I've seen a lot of people assume that Franny telling Lewis that ‘she's always right’ is just a 'happy wife, happy life' joke but I don't think that's the case. I think that what Franny meant to do with that piece of advice was to tell Lewis to have faith in her, to take her ideas seriously even if they don't make much sense in the moment and to never disregard them even if they turn out to be mistaken because there could be something to be learned from them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She remembers how much that validation of her ideas from someone else meant to her back then, after being made fun of and called crazy by everyone else for so long. To Franny, Lewis was probably one of the first people, if not the first, to actually believe in her, which we of course know is because he KNOWS for for a fact that she can indeed make her dream of teaching frogs music a reality, he's seen it after all.
And so, Future Franny being such a warm and welcoming person, who always makes it a point to make sure everyone feels safe, loved, and like they belong every time we see her on screen, is all the more meaningful because she knows both how much it hurts to be cast aside and be made fun of for simply being one's self, and how much it can mean to have somebody else accept and believe in you you, so she decided to become that somebody for others. And that kind and loving person that she ended up becoming...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unknowingly helped the boy who would end up meeting her younger self at that science fair believe in himself and his future, and soon enough, he would do the same for her.
TL;DR: Everybody, be like Franny, be the kind, supportive person you wish you’d had in your own life.
Also, originally this started out as a reply to @xskywalker21 's post about Franny lore but it got so long it kind of became it's own post. So shout out to her for constantly reminding me how much I love Franny.
