Stuckony

Also know as WinterIronShield, these three have been through thick and thin, gone to hell in a handbasket, and survived out the other side together. In canon they’ve suffered at each other’s hands but in fanon we can make them happy! Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, and Tony Stark: also known as the first poly ship of any fandom to reach over 2,000 works, officially making it not a rare pair. Congratulations, shippers and fandom alike! 

Also, despite already being a poly ship, someone decided to throw one more person into the mix, giving us the second ever Darcy x Stuckony fic listed as such on AO3. Impressive. :o

That’s partially why we wanted to include a stats post for Stuckony, and the other reason is the sheer output these eight fics generated: 59k words, which just beats WinterHawk for the second most words per ship in our event. Holy cow, that’s an average of ~7,390 words per fic! This ship also had the most individual authors of any of the other ships in our event, which is very impressive!

Human disasters, unite! That seems to be the running theme for Bucky Barnes and Clint Barton, both together and separately (the growth is exponential), but in this event another theme was being loved. 

These four authors pulled off that theme and wrote a combined 58k words! Holy cow. Good work! WinterHawk is our third most popular ship by word count and fifth by number of works. These two chaotic bundles also managed to rope in other people to love, and the count includes more than one poly fic! 

We’re pretty sure we’ve fallen more in love with this ship over this event, but seriously: who wouldn’t? ;)

When we started this journey last September, we had no idea how much the fandom would embrace the idea of creating happily ever afters for all our favorite characters. And embrace you did! But the world - as we all know - is different now and our lives are as well. While both events brought us so much joy, MHEA will not be running future events. This decision was not come to lightly, but it is the best one and we hope you trust us in this.
