Hi!
Could you write something about an often regarded terrifying Supervillain who is actually just a big softy and super protective of others when not in combat that owns a facility for heroes that have been abused by the agency and are trying to escape ,pls?
...
lili-loves-whump presents:
The Rehabilitation Centre
Supervillain ran a hand over their face. in front of them, Hero held up their fists and snarled. "Fight me."
Supervillain rolled their eyes, lifting their hands and sending Hero flying into the wall with a groan.
They ran away as soon as they turned their back.
...
The Centre was a soft cream colour, with five floors and a round garden that wrapped around the entrance. Supervillain smiled pleasantly and adjusted they suit. the doors flung open with a wave of their hand.
"Ah, Supervillain. Nice to see you."
Supervillain smiled politely. "Hello, Polly."
Polly put on her glasses and passed Supervillain a key card without looking up from her screen. "Cecile has been asking about you all day."
Supervillain nodded slowly and walked towards the elevator. It played a merry lofi beat, and Supervillain nodded their head in time with the tune.
The third floor was by far their favourite. The heroes there were independent enough to talk and laugh with them, but not so much so they realised Supervillain was, well... a Supervillain. The doors pulled open and they stepped inside, breathing in a faint whiff of peppermint and lavender. "Luna put have chosen the incense scent for today," they used, reaching forward to knock on door 314.
Cecile, or Hero #61, was probably Supervillain's best friend (or something more). They'd rescued her themselves, from underneath the rubble of an abandoned factory. She'd been covered in bruises and whip-marks, particularly on her neck, chest and back, and had shown classic signs of pet/house conditioning. She'd taken about a month to be able to walk, two to read and write comfortably, and four to interact and pay attention to strangers.
Supervillain was very proud.
"Celly," they hissed, knocking again. "Are you there?"
Silence.
"Celly?"
Silence.
Supervillain laughed. "I'm coming in, sleepyhead."
They waved their hands and the door flung open silently. Supervillain stepped inside and frowned. The room was a mess, much messier than they'd ever seen it. There eyes widened as they sweeped the room: the window was broken.

El Diario del Monstruo - fragm. 61
M1 - Crab Nebula
See full resolution image at: https://www.astrobin.com/rejqjs/
The Crab Nebula (catalogue designations M1, NGC 1952, Taurus A) is a supernova remnant and pulsar wind nebula in the constellation of Taurus. The common name comes from a drawing that somewhat resembled a crab with arms produced by William Parsons, 3rd Earl of Rosse, in 1842 or 1843 using a 36-inch (91 cm) telescope. The nebula was discovered by English astronomer John Bevis in 1731. It corresponds with a bright supernova recorded by Chinese astronomers in 1054 as a guest star. The nebula was the first astronomical object identified that corresponds with a historically-observed supernova explosion.
The nebula was independently rediscovered in 1758 by Charles Messier as he was observing a bright comet. Messier catalogued it as the first entry in his catalogue of comet-like objects; in 1757, Alexis Clairaut reexamined the calculations of Edmund Halley and predicted the return of Halley's Comet in late 1758. The exact time of the comet's return required the consideration of perturbations to its orbit caused by planets in the Solar System such as Jupiter, which Clairaut and his two colleagues Jérôme Lalande and Nicole-Reine Lepaute carried out more precisely than Halley, finding that the comet should appear in the constellation of Taurus. It was in searching in vain for the comet that Charles Messier found the Crab Nebula, which he at first thought to be Halley's comet. After some observation, noticing that the object that he was observing was not moving across the sky, Messier concluded that the object was not a comet. Messier then realized the usefulness of compiling a catalogue of celestial objects of a cloudy nature, but fixed in the sky, to avoid incorrectly cataloguing them as comets. This realization led him to compile the "Messier catalogue"
At an apparent magnitude of 8.4, comparable to that of Saturn's moon Titan, it is not visible to the naked eye but can be made out using binoculars under favorable conditions. The nebula lies in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way galaxy, at a distance of about 2.0 kiloparsecs (6,500 ly) from Earth. It has a diameter of 3.4 parsecs (11 ly), corresponding to an apparent diameter of some 7 arcminutes, and is expanding at a rate of about 1,500 kilometres per second (930 mi/s), or 0.5% of the speed of light.
At the center of the nebula lies the Crab Pulsar, a neutron star 28–30 kilometres (17–19 mi) across with a spin rate of 30.2 times per second, which emits pulses of radiation from gamma rays to radio waves. At X-ray and gamma ray energies above 30 keV, the Crab Nebula is generally the brightest persistent gamma-ray source in the sky, with measured flux extending to above 10 TeV. The nebula's radiation allows detailed study of celestial bodies that occult it. In the 1950s and 1960s, the Sun's corona was mapped from observations of the Crab Nebula's radio waves passing through it, and in 2003, the thickness of the atmosphere of Saturn's moon Titan was measured as it blocked out X-rays from the nebula.
This RGB image is a total of a little under 6 hours of integration over 2 nights (2/18/24 and 2/25/24) consisting of:
- 190 x 60s light frames
- 61 x 120s light frames
- 10 x 180s light frames
Processed in PixInsight using the new GradientCorrection tool (which really helped with the moon-induced gradients on the data taken 2/18).

This is the Black Eye Galaxy! 🌌🌌🌌
The disk of this galaxy vigorously produces stars with its rapid inflow of mass into the incredibly active black hole at the center. An inner disk produces this galaxy’s distinct dust lane that gives it its name! 🌃🌃🌃

Messier 61 Close Up
Image data from the Hubble Space Telescope, the European Southern Observatory, and small telescopes on planet Earth are combined in this magnificent portrait of face-on spiral galaxy Messier 61 (M61). A mere 55 million light-years away in the Virgo Cluster of Galaxies, M61 is also known as NGC 4303. It's considered to be an example of a barred spiral galaxy similar to our own Milky Way. Like other spiral galaxies, M61 also features sweeping spiral arms, cosmic dust lanes, pinkish star forming regions, and young blue star clusters. The bright galactic core is offset to the left in this 50 thousand light-year wide close-up.

A portrait of a beauty
Nuzzled in the chest of the constellation Virgo (the Virgin) lies a beautiful cosmic gem — the galaxy Messier 61. This glittering spiral galaxy is aligned face-on towards Earth, thus presenting us with a breathtaking view of its structure. The gas and dust of the intricate spiral arms are studded with billions of stars. This galaxy is a bustling hub of activity with a rapid rate of star formation, and both a massive nuclear star cluster and a supermassive black hole buried at its heart. Messier 61 is one of the largest members of the Virgo Cluster, which is made up of more than a thousand galaxies, and is itself at the centre of the Virgo Supercluster — to which our Milky Way also belongs. This dazzling beauty was first discovered in 1779, and it has been capturing astronomers’ interest ever since. Set against a dark sky littered with galaxies, this image shows the awe-inspiring M61 in its full glory — even at its distance of over 50 million light-years. Credit: ESO
