Twice Chosen

Harry Potter kindly offers to mentor the newest chosen one, an eleven year old reincarnated King Arthur.

But kings don't have mentors.

They have advisors.

And accepting advice is always optional.

Privately, Harry thought that prophecy spheres, particularly those involving children, should be encased in concrete and sunk in the Black Lake, like how a muggle mob boss would disappear an inconvenient reporter.

Not so privately, Hermoine agreed. At length, and in several strongly worded recommendations filed the with Department of Mysteries. Eventually, it had taken a back seat to her S.P.E.W. campaign, which the Department of Mysteries was probably as grateful for as the Department of Magical Creatures was not.

Luckily for both, the full force of Hermoine Granger was currently debating a government official who had never heard of the war hero or the war she’d fought in and was refusing to give her an ounce of respect.

That left Harry to deal with the official’s son.

He had struggled to live up to the title of The Boy Who Lived. So the eleven year old son of the muggle Prime Minister who’d been unwittingly crowned Once and Future King had his full sympathy.

“I’m supposed to be one of these magical people, then?” the eleven-year-old looked up at him from his newly received Hogwarts letter, piercing blue eyes staring shrewdly at the saviour of the wizarding world.

Sat in a leather armchair in the drawing room of Number 10 Downing Street, the child looked better suited to dismantling labour unions than drinking pumpkin juice in the Hogwarts dining hall. Harry bit back a smile. In his experience, solemn little boys proclaimed to be chosen ones did not remain solemn into their teenaged years.

“A wizard,” Harry acknowledged, and the boy thoughtfully tilted his head.

“Does this have anything to do with that Once and Future King business?”

Harry’s brain came to a standstill. While he’d always intended to broach the prophecy with the boy (like hell Harry would let him be the last to know of his own destiny) he hadn’t expected the muggle-born to come pre-informed.

“Yeah,” Harry admitted, leaning forward to put his elbows on his knees, “How do you know about that?”

“A lady in a pond in Cardiff mentioned it when I was eight,” he answered primly. “Father sent me to find the golf ball he’d fired into the water hazard.”

Harry suddenly wished Hermoine were in here with them, instead of across the hall with Shacklebolt and an irate muggle prime minister. At least then he’d have someone far smarter than him to share in his gobsmacked expression.

“What else did this lady say?”

The boy shrugged. “That Merlin and I are to reunite Albion. And I’m the reincarnation of King Arthur.”

He tilted his chin proudly in way Harry could only assume he’d been taught for photo opportunities. The image of an oversized golden crown balancing precariously on his small head jumped to Harry’s mind. “You don’t seem surprised,” he noted.

The boy shrugged again. “A portrait at Buckingham said the same thing. And the dragon in the Lake District,” the boy shivered. “But the lady in the pond was the nicest.”

No dragon Harry knew of talked, but those he had met didn’t seem like they’d be the kindest of creatures. He made a mental note to follow up back at the office, as he was fairly certain the Lake District did not have a designated dragon reserve, and if there was such a thing as talking dragons, they must surely have a responsibility to uphold the Statute of Secrecy.

The boy suddenly slid forward in his chair, leather squeaking. “When do I meet Merlin?” he asked eagerly. “

Idly tapping on the end of his wand sticking out slightly of his palm holster, it was Harry’s turn to shrug, “Whenever we find him, I suppose.”

That was truly the crux of the matter. Few in the wizarding world cared for the legend of King Arthur, the knights of the round table, or the holy grail. What mattered was what their rebirth signified; the return of the greatest wizard who ever lived.

But eleven years later, the Prince of Enchanters was notably absent.

The boy crossed his arms and slouched back in his armchair with a thud. Briefly, Harry recognised his cousin in the brattish set of his lip, and immediately swore to himself he’d never tell Dudley that he shared any similarities with a king of legend, flattering or otherwise.

Clearly unhappy with Harry’s non-committal answer, the boy asked, “What about this threat we’re supposed to face together?”

“Erm,” Harry paused, having been trying not to think about that for the last eleven years. Something worse than Voldemort and company really didn’t bear dwelling on.

“So if you can’t tell me what I’m up against, or where my Merlin is, what use are you?”

More and more like Dudley by the minute.

“I gave you your Hogwarts letter,” Harry said indignantly, then swallowed the rest of his rising irritation. Losing his temper at the boy he’d offered to mentor really wasn’t going to endear himself to anyone. And Hermoine would be mortified.

Gently, he continued, “and believe me, prophecies should never be dealt with alone.”

“But I won’t be alone,” the boy replied with the kind of certainty one can only be born with, “I’ll have Merlin.”

The growing feeling that it was he who was out of depth in this conversation, rather than the muggle born boy, was sinking rapidly into Harry’s chest.

The wooden doors swung open to reveal an austere looking Uther Pendragon marching through the door in black wingtip shoes and a finely tailored grey suit. With his grey hair and eyes, the muggle minister was the picture of monochromatic stoicism. Not at all like the eggplant-coloured man who had tried to throw a fourteenth-century Ming Dynasty vase at Shacklebolt an hour earlier.

“Arthur,” the Prime Minister kept his voice intentionally level, Hermoine and Kingsley following behind him, “As you have been informed of your… abilities, Ms Granger and Mr Potter here will take you to get supplies for,” he looked down at the parchment letter he held and sneered slightly at the Hogwarts crest clearly blazoned, “school.”

Hermoine gave Uther the same look the prime minister gave the Hogwarts letter. Shacklebolt and Harry shared a grimace.

Uther’s son nodded dutifully.

His father continued, “I’m sure I don’t need to remind you that despite the differences in academic curricula, you will live up to the family name.”

Harry held back a wince at that. While the wizarding legends of Camelot were just as wild and inconsistent as their muggle counterparts, they suggested that the Pendragon name left a mixed legacy to uphold.

The afternoon sun decided at that moment to shoot through the windowpane behind the boy, lighting up his golden hair in harsh symbolism, even as the drifting dust motes sung of lost magic in the air.

“Of course, Father,” said Arthur Pendragon.

Merlin and Morgana decide to de-age and go to Hogwarts, since they're bored. They end up in Harry's 5th year.

Morgana is horrified with Umbridge's clothes and doesn't even realize Umbridge is actually a person or well, something close to it, so Morgana lets out a "For fucks sake, what even is that pink thing there?" really loud when she and Merlin are waiting the firsties to be classified so they can be classified, since they're transfer students. Umbridge is not happy, but it turns out Merlin and Morgana planned really ahead and made themselves untouchable to Umbridge 'cause their "parents" made a really generous donation to the Ministry, so Umbitch can't do anything to them, Umbitch just gives Morgana a really fake smile and says "I'm the Defense Against Dark Arts professor, dear" to which Morgana just nods and tells Merlin telepathically "This fucking toad is gonna teach? Please, let's go home Merlin, please, I'm not bored anymore" and Merlin just laughs and replies "It's too late now, love". The Hat lets Merlin and Morgana decide where they wanna go, since they really helped with founding Hogwarts. Both of them end up choosing Gryffindor, 'cause when they saw Harry they were like "Yeah, this one's gonna need all the protection and help we can give, he has the same vibe Arthur had of trouble finding him".

When the DA started, even though Merlin and Morgana didn't agree with that stupid idea, they were one of the first people to sign the parchment Hermione had.

Harry, Hermione and Ron think that these new transfer students are a bit weird, but if they wanna help and they actually believe Harry even though they seemed to have no idea who Harry nor Voldemort were before someone explained to them.

Harry is way too tired to think about the weird transfer students. He already has to juggle his time between his secret boyfriend (Draco), his friends, the DA and having Voldemort in his head doesn't really help with the stress.

Merlin and Morgana didn't signed up for this, but if this poor Harry Potter kid is being targeted by an insane guy with a snake face, then he really is a magnet for trouble like Arthur was-Wait, hold that thought, are we sure Arthur would return in his own body? 'Cause what if this kid is Arthur's reincarnation? Nah, 'cause honestly Arthur wasn't the first person to attract trouble every time he blinked, so they're just reading too much in that.

When Harry ran to the Ministry, Merlin and Morgana went with the group as well and when the Death Eaters attacked, they managed to capture all of them and leave a little note to Fudge that read "Here's a few gifts, Minister ;) " Harry and his friends just looked at Merlin and Morgana stunned 'cause they never showed that they could take someone out in a duel so quickly like they did with the Death Eaters! They didn't even had to leave the Prophecy room! When they were leaving and the Order + Voldemort and Bellatrix showed up, Merlin and Morgana just looked at them and Merlin asked Morgana "Oh, I think they have a veil here in the Ministry, should we give the Snake face to Cailleach? I think she'll appreciate the gift!"

So when they stun Voldy and go handle him to Cailleach, Cailleach says she's been wanting him for a while, but they also need to get the Horcruxes Voldy made and just throw them through the veil. Harry & Co are really confused by that, but Merlin & Morgana just nod and leave to go look for the Horcruxes. They come back pretty quickly and start throwing the fucked up thing to Cailleach. Merlin & Morgana feel that there's one in Harry, so they're like "Can we use a spell on you real quick?" and when Harry allows them to do it, they take the Horcrux out and put it in a quill just because and throw it through the veil. And with that Voldy is defeated. Harry & Co are still confused of how that happened and who exactly are these transfer students, but oh well, they helped so they can't be the villains here, right?

I do! I like talking to other people about The Characters. Sorry if I’ve ever rambled at you.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I don’t really write angst. The only one I can think of is a Sherlock fic based on the theme of mismatched names in a soulmate AU (if this means anything to you). The first part was bittersweet (Sally Donovan/Harry Watson), the second part just sad (John/Sherlock)—both probably not that good. I wrote it a decade ago and I’m not going to re-read it now to see if I am right.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Call It Anything We Want. Everything gets solved and everyone is happy! The end.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

None so far!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Sometimes! All kinds :)

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Generally I don’t, but funnily enough the fic of mine with the most kudos is a Sherlock x Harry Potter crossover. (It was for a fanfic exchange and my recipient had this crossover on their wishlist.) There’s nothing particularly crazy about it.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Someone asked me if they could translate a fic of mine once and I said it was fine, but they never got back to me with a link, so I don’t know if they actually did it. I don’t think so.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Ooooh this takes me back. Yes—nothing that was ever published, but I did attempt to co-write a fic with a fandom friend once. We had become friends through livejournal by commenting on the same on-going fic—and when I say friends, I mean we ended up exchanging emails, photos, talking about personal stuff and chatting for hours every day.

Which might not sound like a big deal now, but this happened over 15 years ago, when people didn’t carry the entire internet in their pocket, and chatting with someone for hours meant sitting at the family computer in the living room. Also there was a 6-hour time difference between us.

It escalated to the point where we were making promises to visit each other someday and I had even told my mum about him, but one day he just vanished. (This wasn’t romantic by the way—he was gay, I was questioning; it truly was ‘just’ being friends). Never found out what happened to the guy and I was heartbroken about it for a while. Needless to say, that fic never got finished.

It was a Brokeback Mountain modern AU by the way.

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

I’ve never written or read any Jane Eyre fic but I’m going to say Jane Eyre/Mr Rochester. I just love them individually and as a couple.

As a fanfic reader, while I do have favourite ships, I’m fairly open-minded, and to me an exceptionally written story trumps a specific pairing any day. For example, I’ve read loads of John/Sherlock fics, but what ended up sticking in my mind years later are the fics that were very original or well written, regardless of the ship—like the one where Mycroft and Anthea are the same mind in two bodies and John ends up dating both, or the fem!Lestrade/Mycroft fic (even though this wasn’t a ship I particularly cared about), or the one where John and Sherlock have to take a seal to a sanctuary (gen). On the other hand, most of the Johnlock fics I've read have blurred together, even if (or maybe because) this was the ship I read more fics about.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

There’s one in which Merlin and Gwaine go on a diplomatic visit to the Druids which has been sitting in my Google docs folder for a while, but first I want to finish another fic, because I’ve already written most of it and it’s been languishing in my drafts for even longer. I think I’ll finish the latter eventually—if only for sunk cost fallacy reasons—but I’m not sure about the Merwaine one (which might be platonic Merlin & Gwaine, by the way—I’ve not really decided).

16. What are your writing strengths?

I’ve been told by some that my characterisation was good, but I suppose that’s quite subjective.

One thing I’m trying to pay more attention to now is the overall narrative structure—I don’t write long fics, but even with shorter works you still need an inciting incident, a climax, and a resolution at the very least. I didn’t use to think about it much, but I’m trying to be more mindful of it. Just…making sure those elements are there, I suppose, and that the pacing doesn’t feel off. Not saying I’m good at it but I like to think it’s made my writing a bit better?

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Basic ass prose lol. I started writing fanfic to post online when I was a teenager with a poor grasp on the English language, and what helped me immensely at the time was keeping in mind my English teacher's advice to “just KISS!!” (“Kiss It Short and Simple”).

I still think about it to this day when I get stuck, and it is very helpful when you just need to get the words out and on the page, but it doesn’t make for beautiful prose.

Sometimes I read other people’s work and marvel at their precise use of vocabulary, their inventive metaphors, their evocative language—then I look at my own writing and it’s like, “They were in a room. She was wearing a red dress. It was dark outside.” You know what I mean? But I do this in my spare time as a hobby so I don’t stress about this too much. I’m not trying to win the next Pulitzer Prize or anything.

That and I’m not good at describing stuff. I don’t like descriptions. “They were in a room”—oh, what did it look like? I don’t know! Use your imagination.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

My thoughts are: do it sparingly, do it only if there is a point to it, and try to get it checked by a native speaker (or at the very least do some basic research to make sure it is correct). I have nothing against it in theory, but it can be off-putting to a reader who happens to speak that language if the dialogue sounds unnatural or is just plain wrong. If we are talking about dead or fictional languages it’s not as important, I guess, but never assume there won’t be a nerd who knows Old English or Sindarin ready to correct you.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Brokeback Mountain. Weirdly enough, it had a very active fandom on livejournal back in the day.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

I don’t remember them all, but for Merlin I’m going to say this ficlet in which Arthur and Gwen have a baby called Ygraine and Merlin is the doting third parent/uncle figure.

It’s actually part of a Merwenthur series but it can be read on its own as Arthur/Gwen + best friend Merlin. I just want them to be happy!!!

Excerpt:

Scattered on the floor around the three of them are a couple of the rag dolls Guinevere enjoys sewing, some of the wooden figurines Merlin enjoys carving, and the wooden sword Ygraine enjoys smacking on people’s heads. She’s going through a phase — which Arthur finds slightly unsettling, even though Guinevere assures him it is normal — in which she seems to delight in the mild suffering of others, and gleefully seizes the opportunity to cause it when it presents itself. The methods employed are varied and impressively effective in their simplicity: pulling hair, twisting noses, biting fingertips, grabbing ears — especially those of people who insist on making themselves an easy target by parading around with a pair that looks so easily grabbable — and other such tricks as can be devised by the devious mind of a baby who can now confidently rely on her grasping skills. (...) Ygraine’s improper handling of a sword is unimportant, since that can be easily fixed with proper training; her fledgling sadistic streak, on the other hand, is slightly more worrying, being something Ygraine cannot have inherited from her mother, and having thus prompted in Arthur a level of self-scrutiny he doesn’t feel entirely comfortable with.

I also quite like An Act of Balance actually (Daemons!AU, Gen, Arthur & Merlin). I don’t think it’s the best thing I’ve written or anything, it was just fun to write.

“So,” Merlin said, his voice muffled, due to him being half-inside Arthur’s wardrobe. “Gwen told me you’ve been asking questions about my daemon.” Arthur choked on the water he was drinking. “Sire?” Merlin stuck his head out, looking at Arthur in concern. “I’m fine!” Arthur rasped out, thumping his chest with his fist. Merlin grabbed a couple of shirts from the wardrobe. “Red or blue?” he asked, holding up first one and then the other, while Arthur tried to get his coughing under control. “I think blue. More flattering. I would’ve told you if you’d asked.” “That… blue flatters me?” Arthur asked hoarsely, blinking back tears. “About my daemon,” Merlin said, looking at Arthur as if he despaired of his intelligence.

1. How many works do you have on ao3?

I’ve got 14 fics up.

2. What’s your total ao3 word count?

Excluding the After Camlann Big Bang fic that I only did art for: 25,921. 

3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?

In terms of fic I’ve published on Ao3: just Merlin. I used to have a couple of Harry Potter fics on HPFF though, and of course, I’m working on Black Sails and X-Men fics as well. 

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

5. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

I try! And then I get like a really, really, nice one, and in my joy, I am utterly incapable of formulating a response. So then I stop responding to all comments for ages until I finally work out what to say.

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I’ve only got one angsty fic, Do not disturb the flowers, where Lancelot dies in battle, Merlin tries desperately to revive him, fails to do so, and instead his magic is poured into the ground and flowers grow around Lancelot’s body. 

I’m not generally big on writing angst (Merlin canon has enough pain)!

7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what’s the craziest one you’ve written?

None that are done yet - the craziest one that I’m working on is X-Men x Black Sails, and it’s only crazy in that I’ve spent so much of my time thinking about it but I still don’t have an outline that I’m happy with. It’s driving me crazy! It’s that meme where I’ve got one scene I want to write, and I’m trying to build a fic around it. Turns out I’m going to have to end up rewriting S3 and S4 of Black Sails??

I do want to share Nick’s craziest crossover idea though (no idea when he’ll get around to writing it). It’s Avatar: the Last Airbender x The Hunt for Red October. Yeah. No idea how that’s gonna work.

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Thankfully, no. 

9. Do you write smut? if so, what kind?

Writing romance is already incredibly uncomfortable for me, I can’t even imagine how painful writing smut would be! I’d like to be able to, though. 

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Ha, no.

11. have you ever had a fic translated?

No.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Not yet - Nick and I are planning to write a Black Sails x Treasure Planet fic together, though, and I’m incredibly excited about it!

13. What’s your all-time fave ship?

Impossible question, haha. 

14. What’s a fic you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Five years ago I started an X-Men fic where Erik is hunting a dragon that killed his family. I plotted out the whole thing (just opened my outline, woah it was supposed to be 18 chapters??), but I don’t think I have the energy for it!

15. What are your writing strengths?

Er, dunno. Outlines? 

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

Oh I know this one! Description, definitely. I generally write all the dialogue first and then have to bang my head on the table to sort out the rest of it.

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages on a fic?

Sure, why not? It’s nice when a translation is provided, though. 

18. What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?

In terms of actual proper fanfic, Harry Potter. 

Not sure if it counts, but I was writing a novel when I was ten and for some reason decided to put the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in there. They were quickly edited out though ‘cause my brother thought their appearance was random... and he was right. (Though is it really that weird for mutant turtles to be in a story about mutant giraffe/dragon hybrids?)

19. What is your favorite fic ever written?

Well I’m really happy with The (Other) Last Dragonlord, because I love Will, and it made me so happy to write a story where he’s calling Arthur out and protecting Merlin!

Of course Draco took more of Arthur than Merlin would've preferred, but that doesn't really matter.

And of course when Draco starts dating Harry, Arthur and Merlin were teasing their kid nonstop about how whipped for Harry he seems.

Morgana knows that it's dangerous, but she thinks that it's worth it, since it's more dangerous to keep this with her. She knows she has enough power, since she's the last High Priestess of the Old Religion, and the only person more powerful than her is Emrys. Or so her sister, Morgause, says.

Morgana starts the ritual, she isn't sure if it's going to work, but it's the best solution. She needs to protect this at all costs, even if it means she has to send it to the future. A baby starts to cry, she kisses his forehead and says "My sweet Hadrian, I hope I'll be able to join you in the future soon, but if not, I hope that someone will take good care of you, son. Mommy loves you, baby. Good luck". Now, she isn't happy about that, but she'll be damned if she lets Morgause or Cenred be around her baby. Her baby that Cenred and Morgause insisted that she should be the one to carry for Cenred. Morgause hated the idea of being pregnant and Cenred needed a heir and he wanted a magical one, so with Morgana there it was a win-win situation for Cenred and Morgause. Morgana accepted this with the condition that she would help raise the baby, no matter what.

Harry is not having a good summer, at all. 1- He can't send his boyfriend any letters 'cause it would be suspicious for both of them to be recieving letters and notes every hour 'cause they're that kind of couple that can talk about everything and anything to each other, thus they would be sending owls like crazy, so they decided it was for the best if they didn't write to each other. 2- His friends are not even bothering on replying his letters and when they do, the letters are more like notes than letters. 3- It's his 15th birthday and he just recieved a letter from his dead mother as a gift, the joy! 4- The letter explains how she isn't his mother, at least not biologically and says he should go to Gringotts to make an inheritance test to see who his biological parents are.

Harry manages to sneak out to go to Gringotts, there he talks to a Goblin and asks for an inheritance test. The Goblin takes him to a private office and asks for 3 drops of blood. Harry does that and when the results are shown, he drops the parchment in shock. The parchment reads:

Harry just stopped reading, he didn't want to know the other surprises this test might reveal. If he was originally born in 1405, how the fuck he got to 1980? He knows time travel is a thing, but that far? Harry doesn't think it's possible. He decides he wants to take a look around the Pendragon vault, maybe his biological mother left something to help him out there? So the Goblin takes him there and he finds a diary there, Harry picks it up and takes it to the Dursleys with him. He starts reading it. Harry at least now knows that he was sent to the future using a ritual, and that his mother had all the intention to join him. Harry is still trying to process that he isn't really James and Lily's son and that his biological mother is some historical figure that they learn about in the History of Magic class. After reading Morga- his mother's, diary, he finds out that she used the ritual to send Harry forward in time, 'cause she thought it would be the best place to hide him from his own father and from his aunt, since, by what Harry read, they would only use him for his powers or something like that.

So the Order chooses to come and pick Harry up when he's having an existential crisis. Typical. As soon Harry sees Sirius and Remus he asks them "Did you guys know?", not minding that they have a few members of the Order there with them, he just wants answers and the fact that Sirius and Remus just can't look at Harry...Well, it says a lot. So Harry asks "Why you didn't tell me? Why did you have to let me find out about it through a letter that she left me?". The rest of the Order is really confused on what Harry is talking about, but the entertainment is so good that they don't want to risk interrupting it to ask what the fuck is going on. When Sirius and Remus don't answer, Harry just sighs and says "Fine, when you're ready to be adults and talk to me about it, I suppose you know where to find me." and leaves to his room, that he's apparently sharing with Ron. Harry ignores Hermione, Ron and Ginny following him and asking what he was talking about; Harry doesn't think he's ready to talk to them about it. But he wants to talk to his boyfriend, though, so he sends a note to said boyfriend.

Harry doesn't use Hedwig to send the note, obviously, he sneaks out and uses an Owl Post. He doesn't have to wait much for an answer, though. And after a bit of conversation, they agreed to meet the next day, so Harry went to sleep with a smile on his face, knowing he would see his boyfriend the next day.

Harry finally manages to escape the Weasleys and Hermione and goes to meet his boyfriend. Harry smiled when he saw his boyfriend, and even though said boyfriend had a glamour on, Harry could recognize Draco anywhere. They go to Muggle London and find a adorable Cafe, they find a table and after they order something to drink, they start talking and Harry shows Draco the letter + the test, Draco is worried with something that he read in the test and asks Harry "Did you read the entire test?" to which Harry replies "No, I didn't want to have any more surprises, you know?" and Draco nods but says "You should take a look on where says potions, blocks and glamours...It seems like you have a few on you and also you seem to have something called Horcrux in your scar, you should definitely go back to Gringotts and ask for a cleaning ritual or something. You should go right after we finish here, love. I'm honestly worried with how many things you have on you." Harry gently takes his test back from Draco and sees that Draco is right. So they finish their drinks and Harry pays, 'cause he's more used to Muggle money than Draco, and Harry goes to Gringotts.

After Harry removes everything, including the Horcrux, he writes a quick note to let Draco know that he removed everything and is fine. Harry found out what was a Horcrux and that the one he had was just a small part, so Voldemort made more than one. He asks the Goblins if they can track the other ones, which they can, so Harry pays them to do it and destroy them in Harry's name and keep Harry updated, of course. So Harry goes back to Grimmald Place. No one noticed he left the house, 'cause he pretended to lock himself in the room they have Buckbeak in, so everyone just thought Harry was just being moody.

The Goblins did an amazing job and destroyed all of the Horcruxes, so Harry knows that the next time he faces Voldy, he can kill the old snake face for good. So Harry starts training. He reads every book that he can put his hands on of the Grimmald library and sneaks out to buy some more and even asks Draco for a few books that he can send from the Malfoy library that anyone would miss for a few days, which Draco gladly sends his boyfriend. Harry also goes to his vaults to see if there's any books that can be useful there. Sirius and Remus are confused at first when Harry asks them to teach him how to duel, but when Harry explains his logic, Sirius and Remus agree and start teaching Harry how to duel and even show him some spells they create that are supposed to be for pranks, but work really well in a duel as well. Harry works really hard 'cause he knows he has only a few weeks and he pretends to start his 5th year being at least decent on dueling and knowing a bunch of new spells.

5h year begins and Harry finds the Room of Requirement in the first week back and keeps on practicing, with Draco's help, since Draco had dueling classes since he was a kid. Harry finally feels like he's good enough to defeat Voldemort when he has an encounter with the snake face this year.

Harry & Co go to the Ministry 'cause Harry finally figured out that the weapon Voldy is looking for is really a prophecy, so he's curious to know what it says. They go right after they finish their OWLs. Of course it wasn't that simple, of course Moldyvoldy would have his Death Eaters there. Everyone has their shot with a Death Eater. After that Voldemort finally showed up and when Dumbledore + the Ministry employees + the Minister showed up, Harry stopped playing around with Vody and finally managed to defeat him. Now Voldemort is forever defeated. Of course, there's still Death Eaters around and of course Harry & Co still have to deal with the Ministry, but let's do one thing at the time.

Au crossover where Merlin & Morgana are Harry's parents, Harry's full name being Hadrian Balinor Emrys Pendragon. And Camelot never fell, instead it's a hidden kingdom now. Arthur never died, he's immortal just like Merlin and Morgana, Gwen and the knights (Gwaine, Percival, Leon, Lancelot and Elyan) are immortal as well. Arthur still rules Camelot.

Harry was raised with all the royal etiquette, so when he goes to Hogwarts people are a bit surprised that he's so polite, he's even more polite than a pureblood, which draws Draco's attention.

Harry never talks about who his parents are, Hell, he's in Hogwarts with a fake random name - Harry Potter - that his parents chose because they're pretty common british names. Merlin and Morgana helped the founders of Hogwarts to, well, found Hogwarts, so they know how to trick the castle's magic.

Harry keeps his secrets close to his chest, such as that his wand is quite special 'cause he doesn't need a wand at all, so to avoid suspicion Merlin had to make a special wand to Harry.

Draco is drawn to Harry because all of this, but Harry is just "I'm not here to make friends, though you shouldn't tell my parents I said that, 'cause they sended me here so I would make friends...But I'm good, I don't need friends." but Draco keeps trying though, 'cause he wants to figure out the mystery that is this Harry Potter - who is not related to the old pureblood family Potter - and maybe just maybe , ask his parents to try to reach Harry's parents so they can maybe discuss a betrothal. Harry eventually gives in.
