Am I the only one who thinks that Merida and Hiccup would probably make a pretty good friend duo?

I think they might get along pretty well. I’d also love to see Runaway Hiccup getting along with Fergus. Merida asks Hiccup if he’s ever argued with his mom like she did in the past (and still does, but not as often), and he hits her with the “I never knew my mother”.

I want Hiccup standing in the snow all like “Oh, this is nice weather” while Merida is in some comically large coat all like “Did the logical side of your brain get frostbite or something?! It’s fucking freezing!”. I want them teaching each other their languages to overcome the barrier.

I want Hiccup looking at the tapestry of Merida and Elinor as a bear, then making a quick sketch of him and Toothless to show Merida. It’s a bit of a misunderstanding, but the feeling is close enough to being mutual. Like “Hey, look, I have a non-human friend too!”

Or Fergus sounding like Stoick making Hiccup randomly pause, but the way he acts is so different. Fergus is a lot nicer to him as a friend. If we follow the events of the first movie instead of Runaway Hiccup or if Hiccup lost his leg in a dragon raid after he ran away, then Fergus genuinely curious about how it happened, but knows that not everyone is okay talking about it like him and doesn’t press. He’ll gladly tell the story of how he lost his own leg, though, if you recall the dinner scene from Brave.

On that account, if they ever tell him how Mor ’Du finally died, Merida and Fergus will practically brag about how Elinor showed an entirely different side and it was the first time they’d seen her that mad protecting Merida. Seriously, she took the term “mama bear” to a literal level and used those claws. You could feel the protective rage through the screen.

Another sub-topic I’d like to bring up is that you can hear one of the clan leaders sarcastically say “Maybe it was carried off by a dragon”. I love that because it hints at the idea that the kingdom doesn’t actually believe in dragons. At least not everyone. So Hiccup’s stuck between proving that they’re real and keeping up the facade.

Also, there are lines in Brave hinting at the kingdom not getting along with Vikings. So imagine if in the early days, Merida handed him a viking hat to try to confirm if he really was one. She still doesn’t understand a word of what he’s saying, but the disgust on his face when he threw the helmet and the anger in his voice when he next spoke was enough to understand.

"You. I like you." Hiccup regards at the girl with a nod of his head. Like he's just made one of the most important decisions of his life. And perhaps he did. When the girl grinned at him, he knew that she was the right one. After all, it wasn't everyday that he saw a kid his age beat down a bunch of other older trainees, then continue their bickering like nothing happened. It also helped that she seemed to glow, almost sunset-like. Or at least that was what he was reminded of when she flashed him her toothy grin. He then turned to his father and, without hesitation, asked "Can she be my bodyguard?" Stoick stared at his ten year old son, then at the other ten year old girl, before shaking his head. "She may be skilled, but she's far too young." "I'll prove to you that I can do it!" She said with such a fierce determination. "And that you'll regret-" "Alright! Why don't you go and show Hiccup the new moves you've been learning?" Fergus interrupted before his daughter could say something wrong. "Losing your touch, old friend? Your trainees were pulverized by the girl." Stoick chuckled as he patted his friend's back." "Actually, she's one of our best. And I'm not saying this just because I'm her dad." "You would risk your daughter in your line of work?" There was this proud look on Fergus' face as he answered. "She volunteered." Stoick quieted at that as his gears churned, then turned to look at his son chatting animatedly with the girl. With her age, she could easily go wherever Hiccup needed to be, school included. And perhaps even become a friend of his, because god knows his son needs one. But she's young. "We'll have a trial run then." Stoick finally decided as he watched the girl show Hiccup how to judo flip. "See if she's fit for the job, and then I'll decide if she stays or not." or An AU where Hiccup, the only heir of the Haddock Enterprise, needs a bodyguard. What better place to look for one but from one of their partners, the Dunbroch Company Line? After all, they're known for their extraordinary bodyguards. Except, nobody expected Hiccup to choose chaos in the form of a redheaded girl. [as my friend lani said, adding anime logic strength to merida]

Kingdom Hearts x New Princesses 👑

Okay! This next KH4 post is about the new princesses of heart! Now I know there were alot of princesses in the last few games, although most of them were from the classic Renaissance movies. But since KH3 we learned that there are some new princesses joining the games! So here is my list of who might be the new 7 Hearts in KH4!

🐻 Merida : Okay this one is more for me lol, since I think Merida is really cool! But since KH is diving into more Pixar worlds and movies, it would kind of make sense to put her in KH4. The way I think the KH gang(s) might meet Merida is if they happen to see her at the archery contest first. They see the contest happening and how amazing she is at archery. So, after the contest, they decide to head into town and ask around. Maybe to ask for information about Sora, or perhaps Kairi feels a connection coming from the castle. Since what I've gathered from the games is that Kairi still is a PoH? But anywho, Merida runs away, and boom! Movie plot happens!

I can feel this kind of route going similar to the Tangled world, where the gang gets separated from Merida for a little bit. But then they run into Mama Bear Elenor and find out what happened. I feel like having the player saving everyone from Mord'u when Merida finds the castle ruins would be an intersting fight, or maybe there would be a mini-game where you have to help Merida catch fish in the river. Although I can see the main point of this plotline being where the player has to help change Merida's mom back. With either Mord'u or even King Fergus as a boss fight near the end.

🌊 Moana : Okay this one I've seen everywhere, and I can see why this would make a cool world in KH! Moana is a really popular princess and she has such a cool story that I feel would fit Kingdom Hearts really well! I can imagine going similar to POTC world, where the gang ends up in the middle of the ocean. Although maybe instead of finding an island or finding Moana, they accidently arrive at the Realm of Monsters tower and fall in. Soon after, they find Maui and Moana and you have to fight Tamatoa. I can imagine that being a pretty crazy fight.

As for mini-games and special mechanics added to this world, one has to be sailing. That's the main mode of transport so maybe it can be similar to the Pirates of the Carribean world, but instead of a ship you have to maneuver Moana's boat. As well as take a look at the correct constellations in the sky so can move in the right direction. Kinda of like a "find-the-clue" game except with a starry sky! Although, as another boss fight, or maybe even a mini-boss, you have to outrun the Kakamora who are throwing coconuts or little arrow thingies at you.

🪶 Pocahontas : This one I’m kinda excited for too! Seeing as, in my opinion, Pocahontas is super underrated. Plus, it'd be cool seeing Sora and the gang dressed up like formal English men/women arriving on the ship! Although, since I don’t want a repeat of Moana or Jack Sparrow’s world maybe instead of arriving on a ship, they just kind of show up in the forest? Or by the camp and get mistaken for some do the crew mates? 😅 I feel that would make sense but it would also be cooler so have everyone meet Pocahontas first.

However, it would be interesting to get another forestry area or exploring along the rivers would be cool. I think it's been awhile since we had once other than Winnie the Pooh; I know we had Arendelle and Corona but I mean a world that's all vegetation! Such as the Deep Jungle or the Enchanted Domain, those ones were so amazing looking! Plus they looked like larger terrains so I feel like there's more to explore. Although, if we further look into mini-games for this world, I'm not really sure? Especially since the Pocahontas plot is a little more serious than most Disney Princess movies.

🍬 Vanellope : Okay this prompt won't be too long, but this one I feel is just a guess as well? I saw a video on YouTube saying that since Wreck-It-Ralph was a supporting summon in KH3, we might see Game Central Station at some point. And I can agree with it that would be awesome! But for some reason I feel it's kind of a stretch to have Vanellope be a Princess of Heart?? I think?

🐸 Tiana: This one I have to put on here and I can almost guarantee Tiana is going to be in the next KH game! She's one of the last princesses to get a classic 2D movie, so it would be so magical to explore New Orleans and the Bayou! Plus, even though this setting takes place in modern day-ish America, it still has the colorful atmosphere that fits the Kingdom Hearts vibe perfectly! Plus, it would be funny to see the main cast as animals again like in the Lion King. Not necessarily frogs but other woodland or swampy critters!

Now I feel most of this section of the game would be navigation as well since Tiana and her friends have to get through the swamp in the movie. But I feel entering the Mardi-Gras would be pretty fun, maybe even at the end for dancing like in Rapunzel's world! Although, unfortunately that's all I can think of at the moment...

Don’t mind me, I’m just venting, but another reason as to why M///rricup makes me so upset, uncomfortable, and overall enraged is because it’s clear that the invaders that came to Scotland from the seas in which King Fergus and the lords joined forces to fight against were quite literally the Vikings.

This isn’t just a headcanon, either, this is based off of the period from the 8th to the 15th centuries during which Vikings and Norse settlers, mainly Norwegians and to a lesser extent other Scandinavians, and their descendants colonized parts of what is now the periphery of modern Scotland today. The Vikings attacked every part of what later became Scotland and this had a profound effect on Scottish history. 

It’s like.... do you not realize that when you ship Merida with H///ccup, that you’re essentially shipping the colonized with the colonizer? It’s giving very Pocahontas x John Smith, and I don’t know about you, but I want absolutely nothing to do with ships like that. 

And, no, this is in no way meant to say that J///rida is better, because um??? He’s fucking 300 years old and Merida is 16?? And it’s just so mind-boggling to me how the straights can go “oh, but the fact that Jack spent 300 years in isolation really showcases how lonely he is and how invisible he feels, please don’t take that away from his character!!” BUT you can make an exception for taking that huge aspect away from his character to ship him with an underaged girl, who’s not even romantically attracted to men, mind you??

And as far as the rotbtfd shipping fandom goes, I even see people shipping Merida with Eugene and Hans like?? These. Are. Grown. Ass. Men. Merida. Is. A. MINOR. And yes, this includes Elsa as well. Elsa is 21 years old (not to mention she has Honeymaren now so if you could please stop??). Merida is 16, a child. What is wrong with you people?? What the fuck happened to Jack, Hiccup, Rapunzel, and Merida just being the best of friends, or even better, four gay best friends?? Remember when the fandom used to be so wholesome in that regard? Yeah, me neither.

In conclusion, if you ship Merida with men, especially with Hiccup, don’t interact with me. I want nothing to do with you. She’s canonically gay as well, like??

Yes, I would love to talk about Moanida!!!

I’ve got a few AUs I kinda play around with for them--might make moodboards of them one of these days! A couple I really like are a Mermaid AU and a Selkie AU, probably with Moana as the mermaid/selkie because of her ocean connection??? But I really like the idea of Selkie!Merida too, since it would go so nicely with selkies in Scottish folklore and all that. Either way it solves the geographical issue because they can just swim to each other!!! Also yes, these gay girls crossing literal oceans for each other is absolutely the hill I’m going to die on. I’m also a fan of a sort of Mythology/Goddess AU where like Moana is an ocean goddess and Merida is a volcano goddess of sorts akin to Te Ka with cool lava hair and scary volcanic rock skin and only Moana’s soothing ocean waters can calm her eruptive (heh, get it?) rage. And this also means FORBIDDEN SAPPHIC LOVE FORBIDDEN SAPPHIC LOVE FORBIDDEN SAPPHIC LOVE

I thought up some just for you <3 Some are more general and some are more specific AU-focused so I tried to sort them by AU but there’s probably gonna be some overlap.

General ~Merida is THE most overprotective girlfriend. Like she knows Moana’s independent and can take care of herself, but she absolutely will not tolerate slander of or threats to her girlfriend of any kind. If Merida were to meet Maui at any period in the timeline where he and Moana weren’t really cool yet and he was still being kind of a dick to Moana, Merida would try to fight a literal demigod. She doesn’t give a single fuck. ~Once Merida hears about the Tamatoa Incident, she wants to fight every crab she sees. She also develops a taste for crabcakes and crab rangoons because she starts eating lots of crabmeat solely out of spite. Moana finds this endlessly amusing. ~Moana definitely has the braincell between them. She’s constantly having to hold Mer back and talk her down from starting shit. Merida would unleash the Rage of a Thousand Suns upon her enemies if given half the chance. ~Merida is very physically active and loves working out--she would work out twice a day if given the chance. She’s just really about those exercise endorphins. Moana makes her fresh tropical fruit bowls and tropical fruit smoothies for after her workouts. Merida adores these and eventually she absolutely refuses to drink any smoothies not made by her girlfriend. ~They’re both lowkey caffeine addicts. Merida usually loathes getting up early (unless it’s to work out or go riding with Angus) and will snap at anyone and everyone until she’s had coffee. Moana knows how to get her hands on these really amazing-tasting, obscure types of Polynesian coffee, so she hooks them up with The Good Stuff. After tasting the coffee Moana gets, Merida honestly never wants any other B-tier type of coffee again. ~They love to go sailing in Moana’s boat. In a modern AU where the boat has a motor, Merida likes to make them go really fast for the adrenaline rush and the feeling of wind in her hair. It kinda freaks Moana out to go that fast, but it’s honestly worth it for the look of absolute elation on Merida’s face, and the way she laughs and cheers the whole time. ~Sometimes they like to go out on more calm, tranquil night sails. Once they’re a ways out, they just lie on the deck and stargaze. Moana points out all the constellations to Merida and rambles about how to navigate with them. Merida just turns and watches her with this super-smitten look the entire time. ~Moana teaches Merida some Maori. She teachers her how to say “I love you,” and, at Merida’s request, how to swear. ~Sometimes Moana calls Merida Maori words Mer doesn’t understand. Merida gets mad because she thinks Moana’s insulting her. It turns out she’s just calling Merida a bunch of super sappy Maori pet names. ~Sometimes Merida and Moana just like to talk shit about people who are pissing them off IN Maori, so they don’t understand. ~Whenever Merida absolutely goes OFF on someone for saying something homophobic or sexist or whatever, Moana just stands back and crosses her arms and smirks, and says “Thaaaat’s my girl!” It absolutely never fails to make Merida blush like a madwoman and start blubbering like an idiot and lose her original point completely. ~When they fight, they are SO stubborn, petty, and dramatic about it that they can stay mad at each other for DAYS. For really bad fights, they usually end up needing a mediator (in a RotBTD+ AU, I imagine this would be Rapunzel, Anna, or Hiccup). ~Angus and Pua are best friends. No, I will not be accepting criticism at this time. They get into lots of hijinks and shenanigans, and sometimes they sneak out together and Pua likes to ride around on Angus’s back. When Pua and Angus go missing, Mer and Mo just kind of sigh like “Oh, they’re out adventuring again, aren’t they?” ~Angus also always protects Pua so he never has to be scared of adventuring again!!! Pua still remembers his and Moana’s disastrous first sailing attempt, and Angus makes sure little Pua never gets into danger like that again. ~Hamish, Harris, and Hubert ship it SO hard! Moana turns out to be really good with kids, and has even been known to assist with the boys’ mischief from time to time. They definitely think Moana’s a good person to keep their sister’s chaos in check while not being TOO much of a boring wet blanket stifling her fun. ~Sina absolutely ADORES Merida and basically adopts her and treats her like a second daughter. After hearing Merida doesn’t have the best relationship with her own mom and feels like her mom doesn’t try to understand her or respect that she’s different from her, Sina gets like...SUPER angry and and starts doting on Merida to an almost annoying extent. She never wants Merida to have to feel forced into being someone she’s not, since she saw that with Moana and how much it absolutely KILLED her to be kept away from the ocean. ~Tui is leery of Merida at first, mainly because she seems like she’s going to be a bad influence on his daughter. However, he eventually comes around to her once he sees how much she loves his daughter, and they bond over both being ridiculously overprotective of Moana. ~Fergus also adores Moana, and basically knew Merida was gay from the jump--them dating is 0% a surprise to him. He’s honestly just glad that his daughter has someone more rational and down-to-earth to prevent her from doing anything TOO stupid. ~Elinor meanwhile, traditionalist that she is, is NOT about this whole lesbian thing and would probably be pretty homophobic...at least at first (steaming hot take, I know, she’s just got tradition so far up her ass I don’t know if she’d EVER be okay with her daughter choosing not only to forego marriage to man COMPLETELY--not just delay it--but marry a woman instead, who she couldn’t produce an heir with. Also sorry but I do not like her and probably will not portray her particularly favorably in my HCs sorry not sorry lmao) Maybe she comes around, maybe she doesn’t. I’ll leave that up to your imagination. Although I am not an Elinor fan so I think you already know my take XD ~Moana is grey-asexual grey-aromantic, so she CAN be sexually and romantically interested in people, it’s just...very rare. Merida is basically the only person she’s ever wanted to legit date. Maybe she likes boys too, but she wouldn’t know--she hasn’t found any she’s into thus far. Merida, meanwhile, has always been a raging lesbian, and has had lots of crushes on girls over the years (in an AU where she has the opportunity to, anyhow--ARE there even any girls her age in Dunbroch??? XD). When her parents would read storybooks to her as a kid, she’d always finding herself getting doe-eyed over the “fair maidens” rather than the fearless, ripped warriors who saved them from danger.  No crush ever hit her quite as hard as Moana did, though. But Merida knows for a damn fact she isn’t into men--90% of the time she can’t stand them and their antics, and the only men she’s ever really felt any kind of affection for are ones in her family or ones who remind her of one or more of her family members. ~Moana makes Merida flower crowns. Merida grumbles endlessly about how “girly” they are, so Moana hunts down some black flowers to make one with so it’ll look a bit more badass and intimidating. Merida absolutely LOVES it and wears it everywhere. ~Merida teaches Moana how to horseback ride and how to shoot a bow and arrow. She’s pretty not great at either at first, but Merida is incredibly patient with her. This shocks everyone around them, because since when is Merida patient with anyone? ~Merida also teaches Moana swordplay, and they LOVE to spar with each other. Agressive flirting during sparring sessions is very commonplace. If anyone attacks either Dunbroch or Motunui, Merida and Moana are a force to be reckoned with. ~Likewise, Moana teaches Merida how to sail and some kinda basic naval combat skills (i.e. how to shoot that harpoon gun or whatever it was she used to fight the kikimora off). ~They don’t have sex that often because neither of them has that high of a sex drive, but when they do, Merida tops if a strap-on is used. ~Moana is the kind of person who just kinda sings songs to herself as she goes about her daily routine and her chores. Merida loves to listen in because she thinks Moana has the prettiest singing voice on earth. That doesn’t stop her from teasing Moana about “singing all the got dam time,” though. ~Literally ALWAYS cuddling and kissing when they’re watching something together or just doing any kinda idle activity at home together. These girls cannot keep their hands off of each other. They hold hands in public pretty much everywhere they go, and Merida yells at anyone who makes a fuss about it.

Modern AU ~They meet while Merida is studying abroad in Tahiti. Maybe because Maui (who’s Moana’s cousin or older brother or something) has a tattoo parlor, and of COURSE Merida goes in to get some edgy bow and arrow tattoo to piss her mom off. Or maybe Merida is just snorkeling in one of the coves on one of her days off, and she runs into Moana and they just Vibe. ~I also like the idea of them meeting at a bar/nightclub type place in Papeete--like maybe Maui owns the nightclub because he just likes to party like that, and he lets his little sis Moana poke around in there because he’s lowkey a terrible influence XD And maybe one night Moana’s bartending to make a little extra cash and Merida comes in and gets really drunk on like a huge Sex on the Beach or something and starts really clumsily hitting on Moana and Moana gets SUCH a kick out of it. Merida can’t remember much of the flirting the next day, but she and Moana still become fast friends. ~Merida is constantly ditching class to sneak off and go see Moana. Her grades are plummeting. ~When the semester abroad is over, they promise to keep in touch over the internet--although Moana also wants to write letters because she loves the idea of having a pen pal. Merida teases her mercilessly for being so “old-fashioned” but also doesn’t have the heart to say no. ~They end up confessing they like each other over internet chat. Merida damn well knows she’s gay and has for a while now, but she’s terrified of telling Moana she’s into her because she’s really scared Moana’s straight. So when Moana is the one who ends up confessing to Merida, Merida has literally never been happier in her entire life. ~Once Merida graduates, they decide to just say “fuck it” and move to some big seaside city together (for some reason I really like the idea of them living in Los Angeles???). Merida needs to get away from her overbearing mom and Moana just really wants to see more of the world besides the South Pacific, so away they go! ~BROADWAY MUSICAL NERDS BROADWAY MUSICAL NERDS BROADWAY MUSICAL NERDS! They both fucking LOVE musicals, especially those with sapphic undertones (Wicked, anyone?), and will loudly and obnoxiously sing along to the soundtracks, much to the chagrin of all their neighbors. They’re also pretty big theater fans in general--especially Merida, always rather the dramatic type. ~At some point they save up and go to see Wicked on Broadway together. The trip ends up being one of their all-time favorites, and their fridge is covered in goofy, dumb selfies of them in New York. ~Moana goes to every SINGLE one of Merida’s archery tournaments, and every single game of any other sport she plays. Literally no one cheers more boisterously or enthusiastically than Moana does. Whenever Merida hits a bullseye or scores a goal, Moana grins and nudges the people next to her (even if they’re complete fucking strangers) and goes “That’s my girlfriend!!!” ~Merida is a goddamn punk, and is always walking around in spiked jackets, combat boots, and basically any other clothing that says “don’t fuck with me.” She tried to start a punk rock band once, but it ended up falling through because no one would sponsor Merida’s angry screamo songs about smashing the patriarchy. Moana still went to all of their tiny-ass, tacky concerts though, for the few months they were “touring” the city. ~Merida taught herself how to play electric guitar because she thinks it’s Edgy and Cool. Moana really likes to dance, and knows a fair number of traditional Polynesian dances and has even taught a class or two. Merida learns how to play some traditional Polynesian music on the electric guitar so she can play while Moana dances. The combination of hard rock-esque shredding and a very mellow island dance looks extremely bizarre to anyone watching, but the girls absolutely do not care.

Status: dead, killed by Morgana (TO&FQ) Notable dark deeds: toying with everyone and never doing anything useful, being resposible for the creation of the Dark One Evil Rank: 6/10 - he’s not evil, just immensely useless, which is eve worse when he’s the “most powerful man”, right?

NIMUE

Status: dead Notable dark deeds: becoming the first Dark One, using Facilier to return to our world and trying to kill most of the ‘heroes’ Evil Rank: 6/10 - victim of Merlin’s selfishness, but extra bad points for working with Facilier

PETER PAN/MALCOLM

Status: dead, killed by Rumplestiltskin Notable dark deeds: abandoning Rumplestiltskin for eternal youth, kidnapping children in his search for Henry, kidnapping the Darling family and keeping Wendy captive, pursuing Henry into giving up his heart, switching bodies with Henry, killing Felix and casting the Dark Curse Evil Rank: 8/10 - the head of the Stiltskins, no wonder they all turned out bad

Status: alive, redeemed Notable dark deeds: using Violet to break Henry’s heart, killing Arthur, trapping Merlin inside the tree once more, ripping out Merida’s heart and using her as a poppet, speeding up Zelena’s pregnancy, trying to use Zelena as a vessel for darkness Evil Rank: 5/10 - look, half of the things she did as the Dark One were ultimately for the better

THE EVIL QUEEN/REGINA MILLS

Status: alive, redeemed Notable dark deeds: casting the Dark Curse, killing countless people, putting Snow under the sleeping curse, killing her father, manipulating the Genie/Sidney into killing Leopold, framing Snow for Leopold’s murder, hiring Hook to kill Cora, ripping the Huntsman’s heart out and using him as a poppet, killing Owen’s father, killing Graham, teaming up with Cora, teaming up with Hades (after the Split), trapping Regina and Emma in the mirror (after the Split), putting the sleeping curse on Snow and David’s shared heart (after the Split), creating the Wish Realm and sending Emma there (after the Split) Evil Rank: 10/10 - it’s the EVIL Queen for a reason (”yea, she’s a mass murderer BUT you can aknowledge someone’s dark deeds AND still love them uncoditionally” - Emma Swan-Mills, probably)

Status: dead, sacrificed herself to stop the curse of the Shattered Sight Notable dark deeds: casting the curse of the Shattered Sight, killing her sister (by accident), freezing Arendelle Evil Rank: 3/10 - Inngrid was more of a victim than a true villain

THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST/ZELENA MILLS

Status: alive, redeemed Notable dark deeds: terrorising Oz, putting Dorothy under the sleeping curse sending Walsh after Emma, killing Neal, kidnapping baby Neal, opening the time portal, killing Marian and posing as her (+ tricking Robin Hood into leaving Storybrooke with her and even using the guise to have a child with him), teaming up with Arthur and binding Merlin to Excalibur, interrupting Emma’s proposal Evil Rank: 8/10 - gloriously wicked, could’ve done worse atricities though

Oooh, I love Modern/Fantasy AU Jarida!

Okay like since Rise of the Guardians takes place circa 2012 it is already modern and it is obvious magical elements still exist

Like instead of taking place in medieval times, Dunbroch is basically a tiny country near Scotland that still kinda do the whole arranged marriage thing out of tradition more than avoiding war (kind of how the British Monarchy did until Kate and William)

Jack accidentally flies into Merida while she was practicing archery

It is hate at first sight

But Merida is actually happy there is actually someone who doesn’t care that she is a princess or not and treats her like a normal person?

Jack is like “Oh gosh finally someone my age that can actually see me”

But eventually Jack and Merida realize, oh crap this person is actually pretty awesome but how the hell am I supposed to be with this person?

They kinda sneak around the guardians and Queen Elinor and King Fergus back to see each other

Also Jack being a guardian is secret to older people because humans can suck and it would be some whole X Men situation (something I headcanon for modern!Elsa and modern!Rapunzel)

Like I headcanon that the Man in Moon forbids mortals being with spirits not out of cruelty but how it would hurt a spirit (if you read or watched Lord of the Rings, think about Aragorn and Arwen)

But Jack is like “those rules are for chumps”

Until he notices his hair start to turn back brown and he is just “oh nope”

Like the guardians are obviously very worried because Jack is basically the baby of the guardians

But Jack is just in denial and thinks it’s global warming

And he starts to get sick like getting heat flashes and puking up water basically defrosting

Because he is teetering the line between mortality and immortality

They eventually get Jack to fess about seeing Merida for a year and they are just “no no no”

Like they try to get Rapunzel to help him out but even her powers aren’t strong enough to reverse

Eventually North tells Queen Elinor and King Fergus about Jack

And Merida is even willing to break it off with Jack of if it could save him

But Jack is like “man I died at 17 before I even had a life, could be being a human be THAT bad”

MiM turns Jack mortal and Merida’s parents accept Jack (even though he isn’t a tough Scottish dude and is American)
