That ending was straight out of a ‘just this once, Rose, no one dies! Everyone lives!’ We got a heavy foreshadowing to the Master coming back. Ten/Fourteen gets to just idk live in Donna’s attic and spend the rest of his life going to school plays and drinking wine with Donna. Fifteen goes off to see the stars and HAS A JUKEBOX. Donna maybe gets to work or UNIT??? The Doctor has a FAMILY for the first time since Amy, Rory and River. And Donna in a blouse!!! What more could the world ask for????

JBN. 002 - Podcast Woman

A robot made by an independent media company. She hosts a podcast interviewing other robots and discussing issues the robot community faces.

"You seem tense, let me help you relax."

Weapon: Soft Vocals - She speaks in a calming ASMR voice that can stun or slow down her opponents.

Good point: Chill vibes

Bad point: Goes on long tangents

Mega Man (“Fly on a Dog,” “Make Your Choice,” “I Refuse (to Believe)”)

Depressed living weapon is a trope that automatically feels at least a little transfeminine. And despite being a living weapon, he refuses to kill Dr. Wily in the end, choosing not to be the killer he was born/built to be.

Some notable lyrics:

“Though you stand beside me, I feel alone” - No matter how many people (or robot dogs who are jets) you surround yourself with, it feels very isolating to have no other trans woman friends.

“Father hides the truth, in fear / Maybe if he ignores it, we'll disappear. / Why did he give me voice? / And still choose not to hear me, just white noise”

“And now you want to know / What you're supposed to be / Stop pretending you don't have a choice / Only that can set you free” - Start HRT now

Hard Man (“Harder Than Steel”)

“The Hard Man’s gotten soft” - Yeah. Spironolactone will do that to you.

Shadow Man (“Afraid of the Dark”)

Another sad living weapon although the interesting thing with Shadow Man is that his programming instead of his hardware is what’s making him a weapon. There’s an interesting (unintended) reading you could create that his murder programming is akin to conversion therapy. You could also look at the slow erosion of Shadow Man’s original mind as being like the fear that puberty will turn you into something that actively disgusts you.

"I can feel the good in me is dying slow" - Literally how it feels to grow facial hair

Admittedly, no specific lyric makes Shadow Man sound particularly trans. It's more about the concept of the song than any one particular line he says.

Needle Man (“The Haystack Principle”)

The third a final living weapon. This one is more straightforward than Shadow Man or Mega Man. “The Haystack Principle” is all about Needle Man despising that his body is designed for combat while his thoughts/circuitry want something else. It’s kinda…literally about dysphoria.

There’s also an implication that Needle Man wants Mega Man to kill him, and, unfortunately, suicide is common for trans people who aren’t given anything to deal with their dysphoria.

“It's in my design / It's not my circuitry" - Needle Man establishes a distinction between physiology and what he actually wants to be.

“You'll never see me / behind this killer's face / These aren't my hands / These needles take their place”

“Would you believe this isn't me / That what you get isn't what you see”

“It's hard to blame them / I even scare myself / Built to kill seems to / be detrimental to my health” - Not me blaming myself for being unwelcome in women’s spaces😭

Gemini Man (“GeminEye”)

This one is literally plural, which - based on the women I follow - seems to be unusually common for trans women. One alter repeatedly addresses the other but only ever refers to him as “Gemineye” instead of Gemini Man. Seems that someone has a preferred name that happens to be less specifically male. That alter also claims that someone wants him dead, which is…sadly a very real concern for trans women.

“Gemineye / I forget my name / So I'm taking yours” - Even the alter that isn't already named Gemineye decides to choose a new name.

Proto Man (“I’m Not the Breakman,” “Make Your Choice,” “Melody from the Past”)

Proto Man doesn’t actually lean specifically transfem and more just generally trans. A lot of his lines sound super transmasc because he’s a male character, but he works equally well as a transfem allegory. His story is about feeling rejected by a parent and choosing to make his own path - that can work for any flavor of trans.

Anyways, Proto Man gets some trans-ass lyrics. Like, the entire bridge of “I’m Not the Breakman” is about Proto Man choosing a new name (and asserting that he isn’t broken).

“If you’re The One / My father’s son / Then what am I supposed to be?”

“I’ve met my maker and the man’s a liar”

“An apology so sorry for the man he was / For the father he couldn't be / That I would not be what I was built to be”

“Though my fate is broken my path I cannot see / Though you are the chosen / I'll make my own history”
