Saint George Fighting The Dragon: I found a new art motif I didn't know about! According to legend, a dragon would collect taxes and other treasures from a town until one day the dragon demanded to be given the local princess, and that's when Saint George showed up to slay the dragon. Soldiers on the First Crusade knew this story, and it spread under the motif of romantic chivalry. It is tied to venerations of Saint George today.
