The Minehead Hobby Horse (or "Obby Oss") is a traditional folk custom that takes place in Minehead, a coastal town in Somerset, England, during the May Day celebrations. It's one of the most well-known examples of a hobby horse ritual in the UK, with deep roots in local folklore and possibly pre-Christian or medieval traditions. The hobby horse is accompanied by musicians (often with accordion or drum), dancers, and followers dressed in traditional clothing. The group parades through the streets, visiting homes and pubs, and “blessing” households in exchange for donations. The horse can be both playful and menacing—chasing people, especially children, and "capturing" them under its skirt.-Minehead, Uk

The Golden Chamber was created in the 17th century and contains thousands of bones and skulls arranged decoratively on the walls. The remains are believed to belong to St. Ursula and her 11,000 companions, though the number is likely symbolic and the bones themselves are from a Roman burial site It is a major example of ossuary art in Europe.- St Ursula's Church, Koln, Germany

Jonathan Baldock’s installation at London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE explores myth, folklore, and ancient rituals through vibrant sculptural works made from natural materials. Central to the exhibition is a monumental Mother Goddess figure, inspired by Roman artefacts and Baldock’s own early clay sculpture, now cast in bronze and adorned with gemstones. The installation highlights themes of connection, heritage, and the unseen influences of the past on the present.- London, Uk

Fukusaki, a small town in Hyogo Prefecture, is well-known for its connection to the legendary kappa, mischievous water creatures from Japanese folklore. While the famous kappa statue in the pond is a centerpiece, the town features several other kappa statues scattered throughout, each reflecting their unique and playful mythology. According to legend, kappa are curious, often mischievous beings who dwell in rivers and ponds, with a peculiar reputation for attempting to extract a mythical organ called the shirikodama from humans. This organ, believed to reside in the rectum, is said to contain a person’s soul or vital energy, and the kappa's fascination with it has made them both feared and fascinating figures in Japanese culture. Fukusaki celebrates this curious mythology with these statues, blending whimsy with folklore in a way that captivates visitors.- Fukusaki, Japan
