Cramps currently pissing me off and making me wish Luca was here to rub my back :( so here’s a little Luca comfort MWAH - probably incredibly self-indulgent. ‘girl’ used once, just in reference to girl dinner lmao — all tooth-rotting fluff đŸ«¶đŸŒ
Tumblr media
You were lying on the couch in the only awkward position that made you feel a little bit better, groaning as you tried to continue with your work.
You always got annoyingly stubborn about taking pain medicine for your cramps, sitting in the pain for no reason other than to prove to yourself you could. Your heating pad just out of your reach, daunting you from the other side of the couch.
“Fuck that.” You muttered to yourself, trying to get up to reach it and deciding against moving from your just-comfortable-enough position.
Your ringtone suddenly blaring out made you jump - Luca’s contact shining on your face.
“Hello?”
“Hey, love, just checking in. Feeling okay?”
“Yeah, just-“ The tone in your voice told him you were uncomfortable.
“Did you take some medicine, darling?”
You paused, which he took as a no.
“Please do, you’ll feel better.”
“I know I know, I will.”
“You don’t wanna get up, hm?”
You giggled, he knew you too well.
“Nope. I’ll be okay though-“ you stopped to breathe through a particularly bad one. “Don’t worry about me.”
“I always do. I’ll be home soon with some food, love. Just try to take deep breaths if you can’t get up, okay? And no ‘girl dinner’ tonight, you need hot food.”
“Blah blah blah, all I heard was food. I’ll see you soon.”
He laughed softly at that, “I love you.”
“I love you too, you freak.”
You sighed and put your phone back down, choosing to be brave and get up to grab your heating pad for a little relief. Deep breaths, you kept reminding yourself. You turned it on before placing it over your stomach and trying to find the same position.
One of your cats found you, walking over to lay in your lap, purring with content from the heat. Petting him and listening to the purrs floating off of him always comforted you. The heating pad and steady purrs providing just enough comfort for you to fall asleep.
You woke up to the door opening - Luca walking in with some food.
“Hey, love. Feeling better?”
You yawned and moved so stretch.
“A bit, just had a nap.”
“Yeah? You sleep good?”
You nodded and hummed as he walked towards you, opening your arms. He sat down and pulled you into his lap, softly rubbing your back.
“Was work okay?”
“Not bad. Brought you back some chocolate cheesecake.”
“Fuck yeah. That might be sexiest thing you’ve ever said to me, thank you.”
You giggled when he smiled at you, kissing the top of your head. You watched your favorite show for a while, just sitting with him.
Soon after he grabbed some medicine for you, urging you to take it with some hot tea before your shower.
Once you were fed and showered you walked out to Luca taking your favorite blanket out of the dryer, all warmed up for you. You could cry. “Oh my god it’s so warm, thank you, Luca.”
“Of course, love. I put your water bottle and heating pad in the room if you want to go lay down.”
You gave him a kiss, bringing you into your warm blanket for a moment. “Are you coming to bed too?”
“Soon, sweetheart. Just finishing cleaning up and then I’ll be in.” You nodded at that and gave him a kiss before throwing your warmed blanket over your head and walking to bed.
By the time you got all comfy Luca was coming in to change, laughing at you raising your eyebrows at him when he took off his shirt.
“Now who’s the freak.”
You gasped, holding a hand to your chest in dramatic dismay.
“I’m not allowed to ogle at my handsome boyfriend? Wow.” You giggled as he jumped into the bed, climbing under the covers and holding your face in his hands as he practically attacked you with kisses. You found yourself falling asleep soon after that, head on Luca’s chest as you listened to his heartbeat.

Are You Mine?
rhea x reader
content: reader accidentally gets knocked out causing memory loss but rhea is there to help you remember. a cute fluffy lil fic (gonna try first person in a more diary kinda way?? i hope this makes sense and works??!?!)
Tumblr media
One Monday Night RAW went a little too crazy. Rhea and Shayna were arguing which ended up becoming a fight. Things got out of hand and chairs were being thrown. Sitting in the front row, I got free tickets because Rhea is my hot goth buff girlfriend, anyway, one of the chairs ended up hitting me in the head. Everyone thought it was planned but it surely was not.
I was immediately out, on the floor. For the sake of television, Rhea and Shayna continued to argue but once the segment was over and the commercial came, the goth wrestler jumped out of the ring and flew to my side.
Medics ran towards me, rolled me out on a gurney and drove me to the local ER. Once the show was done, Rhea drove to the hospital and forced her way towards my bedside. She was crying and holding my hand begging and pleading for me to wake up. I had tubes and lines all over me.
“Is she okay? Will she wake up?” the australian asked the nurse.
“She had a bad hit, so she’ll be out for a while. But everything inside is looking as good,” the nurse sounded dull and tired. I was probably her fiftieth concussion that day.
“So she will wake up?”
“It looks like she will be able to. Considering how hard she was hit, she might have some memory loss, so be prepared for that,” she wrote something on my chart.
“Fuck,” Rhea growled.
The nurse jumped a bit at the muscular woman in her intense makeup and dark clothing. She was scared of her when she walked in but it wasn’t even close to the craziest thing she saw that day.
“I’ll be back later to check on her,” she placed the chart on the hook.
“Okay
Thank you,” Rhea kissed my hand and rested her head on the bed.
The nurse left and closed the curtain behind her.
You’re probably wondering how I remember all this
well I don’t. This is what was told to me and a little bit of dramatization for the story. But this next bit I do remember because it was after I woke up and I was able to recover my memory, but not at first. Don’t worry, it’ll get good.
So after a few hours, according to the doc, I finally woke up. I forced my eyes open and looked to see who was resting beside me. I tried to not freak out about this large dark woman holding my hand but I couldn’t think at all other than “Where am I ?!”
“Y/N!! You’re awake!” she kissed my hand and I immediately pulled it away but she didn’t take too much notice of it because she stood and called for the nurse, “Nurse!! Please hurry she’s awake!! Nurse!”
The nurse walked just a bit quicker than her normal gait. Followed by two more who were checking on different tubes and monitors. She shined the small light in my eyes as I squinted away from her, she checked my pulse and my breathing before spewing off some random medicines.
“Can someone please tell me where I am and why I’m here?” I sat up trying to avoid everyone touching me.
“You had a bad concussion, you were out for a good few hours. You’re at Rosendall Grace hospital,” the nurse said as if she was reciting lines from a play.
“How?” was all I could say.
“It was my fault,” the scary muscular woman said sniffling in the corner, “I was arguing with shayna and we threw a chair and it hit you, I’m so sorry baby.”
“Who’s Shayna and why’d you call me baby? Who are you?” I felt the side of my head that was pulsing. It felt like my brain was going to burst out.
“Don’t touch, there’s a wound there,” the nurse pulled my hand away.
“Shit,” the dark woman slammed her hand on the wall, “You lost your memory. I’m Rhea, I’m your girlfriend and have been for two years. I’m a wrestler for WWE, and Shayna is another wrestler and we were arguing on television but you were in the audience.”
The nurses that were swarming around me looked at each other as if it finally clicked in their head why she looked the way she did and why she was here with me.
“What’s WWE?”
“You’ll remember later, too much to explai-”
“Please don’t pull out your IV,” the nurse grabbed my wrist.
“I’m scared, I don’t know who she is, I’m in a random hospital with nurses that could give two shits about me. I want to leave, please!” I tried wriggle my arm out from her grip.
Rhea sits down in the chair in the corner of the room, “Please just listen to them for right now and you’ll be out sooner. Fighting them won’t help,” she sighed putting her head in her hands.
“Fine,” I huffed crossing my arms refusing them from touching me more.
“Please, we need to fix it,” the nurse held out her hand.
If looks could kill, she’d be long gone by now with the daggers I was shooting at her. She didn’t budge. So I so dramatically give her my hand.
“Thank you,” she snipped, “this is medicine that will help with the pain
 morphine,” she shot a look to the australian, as if she was making sure she knew what was going to happen. “You should get your memories back within the night,” she looked back at me giving a fake smile. Taking a big sigh and checking the medicine bag hanging near me, “try to jog her memory like talking about things she likes or about the moments leading up to the injury,” she turned towards my girlfriend before nodding her head. Who knows how long she’s been here.
“Okay, yeah
 I can do that,” Rhea dragged the chair back to the side of the bed.
“We’ll be back later the check on things,” the nurse gave a nod and shut the curtain once more.
“Hey,” she tried to grab for my hand but I pulled it away.
“Don’t touch me, I don’t know who you are,” I turned away from her.
“You know me very well actually,” she sat back in the chair, “You know how much vegemite I like on my toast, you know that I love to be the little spoon, you know that I-”
“Vegemite?” I looked at her confused because what the hell is that, legitimately.
“Don’t worry about it,” she waved me away.
“And you,” I gestured frantically to her big arms and muscular stature, “like to be the little spoon?”
“Yes. Don’t start with me, princess,” she began to play into the memory loss as if I was someone she had never met before.
Unbeknownst to me, she was trying to win me back over but obviously I had no clue who this dark haired goth woman was. Did I think she was attractive? Yes but that’s not the point.
“Oh now you’re trying to flirt with me,” I said.
“I’m always flirting with you actually,” she winked.
The butterflies fluttered in my stomach and I tried my best to hide them but

“Now how did I know that would fluster you, hm?”
“I don’t know! You’re good a flirting?!” I shrugged.
“I am, thank you,” she giggled.
“Ugh,” I huffed and crossed my arms. I remember thinking that she was so incredibly attractive and mysterious. I needed to know more about her but I had no clue where to start. We sat in silence for a good long minute before I decided to break it. “What did you say you did?”
“I’m a wrestler for WWE.”
“And what’s that?”
“It stands for World Wrestling Entertainment. My nickname is Mami, and I’m the big scary villain along with three other guys but we’ll get to them later.”
“Oh,” I really did try to process what she said but I was so far out of it that I had no clue what wrestling was. I thought that if I faked it, she would believe me.
“It’s okay if you don’t remember, you will eventually,” only then did I notice what she was wearing because she was putting everything on display by her manspreading. She noticed that I was staring pretty hard trying to take it all in, “What’re ya looking at so hard?”
“I’m not sure, to be honest. I’m trying to figure out what you’re wearing and why you’re wearing it,” I shifted in the bed.
“Oh,” she chuckled before she stood. “These are my boots,” she pointed at them as her feet turned in, “these are my fishnets,” she pulled at them with a snap, “they always gets holes in them but I think it makes me look cooler, and these are my lil booty shorts,” she pointed at them with both of her hands gesturing to her center, “this is my shirt with the group on it
 that’s me,” she pointed at each of the silhouetted figures on the shirt, “that’s Dom Dom, that’s Damian and that’s Finn. They’re my boys,” she smiled.
“Hmm,” I said contently. I was really was fascinated by this woman. She was so
 interesting.
She sat back down pulling the chair closer to the bed but I didn’t feel the need to shy away again. Something about her made me feel
safe.
She cleared her throat, “so do you remember anything at all?”
“Well, I know my name is (y/n) only because that’s what you said earlier, and I know I got hit in the head, and obviously I know how to talk, but other than that
” I couldn’t think of anything, nothing at all. I began to freak out a little but I tried to hide it as best I could.
“Hey, hey," she grabbed my hand, "it's okay, you'll get your memories back soon, I'm sure. Nothing to worry about, just a lil blip is all," she kissed my hand.
A shot of warmth from her voice as the kiss flew through me and calmed me almost immediately. I guess I did know her.
We sat in silence for a good moment as I studied her. Her eyes are an icy blue that almost close when she smiles wide, her teeth are perfectly white, her nose is long and skinny with a bump in the middle, it suits her. Her tattoos are dark but fit her style as if she was born with them, her calloused hands look rough but are softer than you can imagine. The way her black wavy hair falls perfectly around her face, framing it just right to accentuate her cheekbones. Her arms are muscular but you can’t tell when she’s relaxed, though I’m sure that if she flexed I’d go into cardiac arrest. I laughed at myself with that one.
“What’s so funny, love?” her voice was quiet but gentle.
The pet name didn’t phase me as much as the first one did, “just thinking.”
“Bout what?” She crossed her legs leaning on her elbow with her chin in her hand.
“How I wish I remembered who you are because I definitely think you’re my type,” I could feel my face getting red and hot.
“Oh trust me, I wish you could too because I most definitely am your type,” one of her blue eyes winked at me and the monitor started beeping faster.
She laughed as she looked at the heart rate going up, “Told ya.”
“Knock, knock,” a different nurses voice came through the curtain before she walked through, “your nurse left for the night so I’ll be taking care of you for now,” she grabbed my chart, “So how are you feeling?”
“My head isn’t throbbing anymore so that’s good, but I guess I still don’t have my memory yet.”
“It’ll come soon, but I’m glad the morphine is working,” she smiled as she put my chart back and flicked the IV bag to get rid of the bubbles, I’m not exactly sure why she did that though.
I gave her a weak smile before looking back at the dark woman beside me. She gave me another wink and the monitor beeped faster again.
“Oh! You okay?” the nurse shot me a look.
“Yeah, uh
 I’m fine,” I tried to shrink myself down.
“She’s okay Doc, just trying to jog her memory,” the wrestler said.
“I see,” she giggled, “I’ll be back to check on you later. Maybe try to get some sleep, that usually helps others with their memory. Like a hard reset!” She quietly left the room, if that’s what you wanna call it.
“That’s actually a good idea, wait, when did we eat last?” my so called girlfriend asked.
“Around 5 I think?”
“What?”
“What what?”
“You remember when we ate?” She started to get excited.
“Oh
 I guess I do!”
“Do you remember what you ate?”
“Uuuuhhhhhh
.” I really thought hard about what food was, “Damn, no I don’t.”
“Damn,” her face dropped immediately, “I’ll get some stuff from the vending machine though, I’ll be right back, baby,” she stood and kissed my forehead.
As if someone hit me with another chair, my head pounded with memories. True Love’s Kiss really came through with this one. I remembered everything, who she was, what I ate, who I was, where we were, why we were here. I held my head as they came rushing back, “Rhea?”
“Yeah?”
“Do that again,” I pointed at my forehead.
So she did, but she didn’t notice that I said her name, which shoulda been the dead give away because I’ll be honest, I didn’t remember her name when she said it at the beginning of this whole mess.
“That’s what I thought,” I said.
“What?” she stepped back a bit.
“That I love you,” I smiled so wide my cheeks hurt.
“You do?! You remember?!” She was almost jumping she was so excited. “So who am I? What do I do?”
“You’re Rhea Ripley of the Judgment Day, you wrestle for WWE and most importantly you’re my girlfriend,” I shook my legs with excitement.
“Yes! Yes!!” She bent down and kissed my lips holding my face, “What else?!” she didn’t let go of my face though.
“We had burgers for dinner with the boys, Dom, Finn, and Damian. You had a match against Shayna that ended with me getting hit with the chair,” I laughed it off.
“YES!!” she kissed me once more, “NURSE! She remembered! Nurse!!!”
She came running in, “YAY!!” she was much more enthusiastic than the other one, “That’s exciting news!! Oh I love hearing about things like this, it’s so cool how the brain works,” she laughed. “I’ll get the doc to come check on you once more to see of you can be discharged. Be right back!” as she slipped out.
“I love you, I love you, I love you!!” Rhea kissed all over my face and down my neck finishing with a long kiss on my lips.
“I love you too
Mami,” I giggled.
“I can’t wait to get you out of here,” she snarled playfully.
“Me either.”

carlisle cullen x m!werewolf! reader
warnings: male reader, werewolf reader, imprinting, twilight lore, omegaverse?, forbidden love, reader gets hit by a car lol, love confessions??, esme doesnt exist (still love her tho)
wc: 2.1k
cut for length!
you drove into town in your dad's truck, old and slow. your family hated going into town, and you never understood why, which is why you were on a sort of errands run for them. of course you knew of the cullens in all of their vampire-ness but you never found it as much of a problem, what were the chances you'd run into them anyways?
the laundry list of things to do was long, longer than you'd expected, so last minute you called your friend jess to help keep you company on your long day ahead of you. you picked her up from her cute but humble house and headed towards the first place on your list, newton's olympic outfitter's. "aren't you and one of the newton boys together? mike, right?" you asked as you looked at the list on the seat next to you while pulling out of jess' driveway. it'd been awhile since the last time you'd hung out even though you considered jess to be one of your closer friends, the reservation didn't get good enough phone reception to call as frequently as she wanted.
"uh, no, we broke up actually," she mumbled quickly from the passenger seat next to you. "oh, damn, sorry. what a bitch," you added the last part jokingly, trying to cheer up from the topic. you both laughed it off and continued the drive until you got there, continuing your conversation as you walked into the store. "i just need to get a few things for my sibling(s) and dad, shouldn't take too long," you assured her as you quickly found the first thing on your list. the day went mostly like this, stopping by random shops for the few odd items before the final store on the list, just getting a few groceries that are cheaper to buy in forks. you entered the store and followed the routine as normal, getting whatever you needed and getting out as soon as possible.
caught up in your conversation with jess, you hadn't even noticed the small red car speeding through the parking lot. everything happened so fast all you can remember is walking with jess, hearing her scream, and then being on the ground of the parking lot. "tyler! what the fuck is your problem!" jess yells, you only vaguely hear it before she rushes over to help you sit up. "at least call an ambulance asshole, don't just stand there with your door open!" you heard her yell again before she started to check on you.
before you knew it, you were being taken into an ambulance and rushed to the hospital. the hospital. a shiver runs down your spine and you hear the heart rate monitor pick up its beeping as you realized you're going to the one place in forks where you have been forbidden to go by your family.
you start panicking, trying to get out of the ambulance in any way you can.
"hey, calm down, we're going to put you under for the rest of the ride, okay? we can't help you if you don't let us," you hear the nurse in the back with you say after trying to get you to stop freaking out.
you woke again in a hospital bed, the smell of medicine invading your nostrils immediately and making you sneeze.
"ah, you're awake, and just in time. the doctor's on his way right now." the same female nurse says before finishing up on writing your vitals and waiting for the doctor. your heart drops when you hear her mention him, no doubt it was carlisle cullen. what if he killed you in the hospital, right there, he probably had manipulation powers to make everyone think nothing happened.
"i don't need a doctor, i'm fine, let me go," you rush out as fast as possible while trying to sit up, the action only making you dizzy as the nurse gently laid you back down.
"once the doctor says you're fine you can leave. you only have minimal bruising and a few cuts, you'll be out of here in the blink of an eye," the nurse comforted you, and it seemingly worked as the heart rate monitor went back to normal. you took deep breaths, only a few minutes with the monster and you'd be able to leave and never go into forks again.
you heard footsteps approaching and turned your head to the door, the door knob turned and your heart dropped again, fear pulsing in your veins more than it ever has before. then he stepped into the room and you were filled with a new feeling, your heart started beating faster, and it was like you had tunnel vision on him and him alone. you couldn't hear the busy sounds of the hospital, and you surely didn't notice the nurse standing too close for your liking anymore. the first thing your brain registered was that the doctor had the best smell you've ever encountered, like vanilla, honey, and lavender all at once.
"-use me, sir?" the nurse said, only hearing the last part of whatever she was saying. you adjusted back to reality quicker than you wanted, then you noticed the doctor standing in front you, trying to get your attention for an unknown amount of time.
"cullen," was all you managed to squeak out, staring with wide eyes at the man in front of you. he was better looking than anyone you'd ever seen, like god himself graced the doctor's face. he wasn't what you expected from the stories you've been told. you were told his eyes were empty and loveless, but as you looked at him his eyes were warm and more full of love than a father seeing his newborn baby for the first time.
"i see you're from the reservation, brave of you to come here," his voice was angelic, like he was singing a song only for your ears to hear. you gave him an alarmed look before you could stop yourself, was he threatening you? was your pack right?
"what?" you stuttered out and you were met with a soft, too soft to be real, chuckle and a warm smile from the doctor. "i don't see many of you in the hospital, i was starting to think you've all been avoiding it because of me,"
"they have," your words came before your brain could filter them, his frown was quick and the cutest frown you've ever seen, the kind of frown that made you want to hold him and kiss it away. "sorry, just something the tribe elders told us to do, it's not like any of us hate you," you stumbled over your words, and lied through your teeth. some of the members of your pack hated the cullens like they'd been personally attacked by them. the smile on his lips made your heart skip a beat, which was well documented from the heart monitor you nearly forgot about.
the doctor, carlisle you think, shone a light in your eyes, and then checked your ears, and listened to your heartbeat. his hand was on your chest, and you're sure he could hear the affect it had on you.
"well, good news, you can be released and you already talked to the police so there's no need for you to stay." you didn't think it was possible but your heart dropped again, you'd almost wished you got hurt worse so you could spend more time with him. "i'll finish this paperwork and get it on file as soon as possible, you should be able to leave within the hour. is there anything else you need?" you barely heard the rest of his sentence, still focusing on the fact that you wouldn't be able to stay around the doctor for longer.
"um, would it be possible to talk to you? in private?" you asked sheepishly. you were 110% sure you were imprinting on him, and you were even more sure he was definitely a vampire. you didn't hear any heartbeat, and you were quick to notice his larger than normal canine teeth. your question was met with another warm smile that made your heart restart and a nod.
"yes, of course, let me get you unhooked from the equipment and i'll walk you to my office, okay?" his voice was soft and reassuring, like he knew what you were going through. there was no way he knew that much about werewolves, right? just as he said, he helped you get the various wires off and led you to his office. his door read 'doctor carlisle cullen', you had remembered his name correctly. he opened the door and held it open for you, the gentleman you could only dream of. he closed the door gently but swiftly behind himself.
"please, take a seat. what were you wondering about?" he asked sweetly as he took his own seat and set a few papers before himself. you didn't plan to get this far, you hadn't figured out what you were going to say, so you just said what came to mind first, "i know you're a vampire," your words came out jumbled. he stared at you with a blank look, millions of thoughts racing through his head. you picked up on his reaction and rushed out the rest, "i'm not gonna expose you, everyone in the pack knows," hardly comforting, but better than him thinking you want to ruin his life. he let out a small noise of understanding, and that itself made your heart skip another beat.
"what is it you came here to tell me?" his voice was colder now, but still melodic like he planned his words for centuries.
"i'm sure you know about, you know, the whole werewolf thing," you paused as you spoke, looking at him to gather his reaction, and he nodded to signal you to continue speaking. "do you know anything about... imprinting?" you whispered the last word like it was poisonous.
"ah, you came to ask about that. i can try to help as much as i can, but wouldn't you prefer someone from your tribe to explain it to you?" carlisle's words were soft and understanding, with a hint of genuine curiosity.
"no, uhm, hold on i think i need a minute," you stuttered out, trying to figure out the least awkward way to explain you think he's your soulmate. you thought for a minute, carefully putting a sentence together before speaking again.
"doctor cullen," you started, "carlisle, i think i," your voice was caught in your throat, but you tried your best to finish you sentence. "i think i imprinted on you," you ripped off the band-aid and rushed it out. you stared at your shoes, though you'd rather be looking at carlisle's godly beautiful face. after a moment of silence you peeked a look at his face to gather if he was upset or not. you couldn't pinpoint the emotion on his face, shock? fear? anger? your heart started beating at an irregular pace again, "i-i'm so sorry, i'll go," you felt tears in your eyes and started to gather the small bag of belongings you were given before his voice stopped you.
"no, no, you're okay. i'm sorry, i didn't know that was possible," for once his words didn't seem as well thought out, it was jarring but his words flowed together as beautiful as always. "and you're sure?" he asked.
"yes, i think, i don't know. i haven't felt this way before, it's just like it was described to me. like you're the only person who actually matters anymore," you spoke freely, which surprised you.
"hm, well, i'm new to this too, we can figure it out together," carlisle's voice was warmer than ever, you felt like a blanket was being placed over you. you smiled and were going to stand up when he was suddenly standing right next to you, you jumped slightly and he let out a playful laugh, his laugh was beautiful, like angels singing in a choir. "apologies, forgot to warn you,"
you stood up and hugged yourself to him, his arms wrapped around you in the best hug you've ever had. he was cold, but you were sure you were warm enough for the both of you. you never wanted to separate from it, and let out a whine when he pulled away, surprising yourself more than you thought you could today.
"i'll tell the hospital something happened with one of the kids and we can talk about this more, if you're okay with it," you agreed quickly, the other patients could wait, how much trouble could happen in forks while you hog him for a little?

When the arrow strikes twice
My first fic ever I am no writer at all but I needed to write a lil something about Harumasa and some angst after he survives his agent story, set after he defeated Kirishima and before he goes back to work, first time he wakes up fully in the hospital. Lots of angst because well, our boy didn't expect to be alive and freak out quite a bit about it because there's just no way. You can all thank @cozywithbooks who was persuasive talking me to write it.
..............................................................................................................................
Harumasa slowly woke up, feeling extremely weak, he knew he was still alive somehow. How? What? Huh?
He opened his eyes to see his doctor standing next to him, looking relieved to see him awake. "Welcome back to the land of livings, mister Asaba." His doctor said warmly.
Harumasa just stared at him in utter confusion and shock. "What?" He asked.
"You gave us quite the scare and we were sure you weren't gonna survive but you miraculously pulled through." His doctor gently explained. "You still need to stay a few more days for more check-ups but so far you are recovering extremely well, it's a true miracle, sir." The excited glint in the doctor's eyes showed Harumasa that he was very happy with his condition.
Yet all Harumasa could feel at the moment was pure dread, terror and shock. "WHAT? HOW? I WAS SUPPOSED TO DIE HOW AM I STILL ALIVE????!!!!" Screamed the poor boy who was on the verge of a full blown panic attack.
"Calm down now, Harumasa. I know it's a lot to take in but I can assure you that you are doing well for now. I can't explain how you managed to survive though, it's also a mystery to us. You slowly got better just when we were out of options, your recovery is a real miracle that can't be explained by medicine as of yet, we are still waiting for your results." His doctor calmly said.
"There are no miracles for me. My illness was getting worse. I was losing my senses. I even injected myself with the perfected drug of my master which should have finished the job completely. So don't tell me that I'm fine. I should be dead twice over actually. What's next, my illness is gone?" Harumasa ranted, getting more and more agitated over the situation.
He didn't understand. He was supposed to be dead. The drug should have offed him off. He remembered collapsing with the proxy vainly trying to get him stay conscious, but it was his final mission. Yet here he was, in the hospital with his doctor.
The whole thing felt surreal to him about as much as ethereals walking outside of the Hollows. It didn't make any sense. He felt like reality had changed to a whole new set of laws of logic, and him being alive after what he went through was pratically defying all logic. His brain was trying hard and failing to do all the gymnastic needed to comprehend any of it.
He felt himself feeling sick with dread, wondering if it was a sick joke and if his condition somehow went a whole new direction never seen before.
The stress of the last week, plus him still breathing afterwhat, was eating him alive. His stomach was a twisted knot, he felt sweaty all over and he was trying to control his breathing, as he started to breathe a bit louder than usual as panic was slowly setting in over the whole mess.
"Rest assured, you are doing ok for now. We are all pleasantly surprised at how well you are doing currently. Sadly you still have your illness, but it is for now extremely stable. Actually, it is the most stable it has ever been for you so far." His doctor continued, while passing him down a glass of water to try to calm him down.
Harumasa took the cup with shaky hands. "So now what? Did my illness mutated into something new that we haven't seen before or something? You're not gonna tell me that the drug and the illness cancelled each other to make something new. Like fighting fire with fire. Does it changes my condition. Am I even more at risk now?" Harumasa shrieked.
"Well, uh, not as far as we can tell. B-but, we are monitoring you very closely. Y-you do need to calm down, your body endured a lot of stress, you need to rest." His doctor stammered.
"CALM DOWN???" Harumasa screamed. "I had the most stressful week of my life, I learned my former master who I had tried to catch for years became an ethereal rendering all my efforts of my life so far to nothing, I had to put him down, then I had to catch a criminal while slowly dying from my illness, while also trying to save a bunch of kids with the same condition as me from the criminal who was going to kill them all, and then inject myself with the drug the criminal wanted just to be sure it would not be used ever which should have ended my life, do not tell me to calm down, I will throttle you" Harumasa threatened.
"I understand Harumasa, but you are still weak from your illness you need to rest to recover." The Doctor was looking at him sympathically.
Harumasa really wanted to strangle him, but he felt exhausted, being angry and confused tired him out. Instead he asked for the next things that came to mind. "So what now? Did my illness change stuff for me? Do I need to change pills? Do I need to take more pills? What do I tell my pharmacist? Will I get new symptoms? Oh man if I start getting seizures I'll never be able to go back to work I'll have to retire please tell me I won't get new symptoms or need to change prescriptions." Harumasa swiftly rambled, getting more angsty at each question.
"So far yes it has changed, for the better for now. It is very stable so you are doing ok. Based on our observations you won't need to change pills or get more. We also don't think that you'll have new symptoms, on the contrary we feel you might experience them less often. You have to understand, your recovery is pratically a miracle of god, you came here with half your right side having corruption signs over you, your right eye was blue, and yet that all went away fast and you managed to wake up a bit before losing consciousness again, but it is extraordinary." The doctor spoke, clearly still in awe of witnessing the whole event happening.
Harumasa wasn't as enthusiastic. His thoughts were in all directions, trying to make sense of any of it. He had long lost hope of some miracle humbly getting send his way. Everything the doctor said just made him more confused and scared. Miracles happens to other people, not people like him, and expecially not him. Everytime it seemed to go his way, life would snatch it away. Like his master. Like his life.
And yet.
Here he was. Still breathing. Still alive. He didn't feel a headache coming over, his eyes didn't sting, his lungs were pain free, his hands weren't shaking, he didn't feel lightheaded or nauseous. Yes, minus the exhaustion, he hadn't felt that good in maybe never before in his life. His body was fine for now.
His mental breakdown was slowly going away too, but one thing at the time.
Feeling sleep creeping up on him, he felt like joking a little to calm himself: "So this is what Hell looks like, my life at the hospital, I am surprised though, I thought Hell would have been me stuck at work doing overtime for eternity." Harumasa lightly laughed.
"Now now, Harumasa, you are truly alive, and this isn't the afterlife. Now sleep for a while, you need it." His doctor fondly told him, chuckling at himself hearing his patient joking like usual.
Yes, he would be fine.
..............................................................................................................................
So, how was it? I had this idea because to me it only makes sense that Harumasa would be beyond confused and scared when waking up at the hospital instead of being dead. So he gets a mental breakdown for a little bit before calming down. Which is why we're here. The title kind of reference when Harumasa injects himself with the drug, his target is to stop the drug from being in anyone's hands, and getting healed from it a bit is a bonus, so he strikes twice without meaning to as if he shot 2 targets with one arrow when he was just hoping to hit one target. I hope you guys liked it. ^^
Again my first fic be nice please.

Prologue . . . Chapter Seventeen
Chapter Eighteen
Chrissy woke before Nancy the next day, much earlier than she usually did. It allowed her to call Karen and then call Robin, who was still over at Steve's. Robin was relieved that her sister was okay and rambled on for quite a bit about what they could do to help. Neither one of them had any answers. She made sure to tell Robin that Argyle and Jonathan would be picking them up today instead of Steve. Robin quickly handed the phone off to Eddie.
"Hey, sweetheart," Eddie said.
"Hey, how is he?" Chrissy asked softly.
"Heartbroken," Eddie sighed. "How is she?"
"Still asleep, but she didn't throw up in her sleep, so that's good," Chrissy said. "How are you?"
"Would you think less of me if I said I was scared?" Eddie asked.
"I would think more of you, actually. I'm a little scared myself," Chrissy admitted.
"It's a little selfish, but what's this going to do to our family? I like our little family," Eddie said.
Chrissy smiled at hearing Eddie calling their friends' family.
"We'll help them get through this, and by helping them, we help ourselves," Chrissy said.
"I highly recommend you never see Steve Harrington cry. He looks like a kicked puppy," Eddie said, breathing heavily. "Well, hey, if Nancy doesn't want him, can we keep him?"
"He's not an actual puppy, Eddie!" Chrissy laughed and paused. "Besides, I definitely think Nancy still wants him."
"Are you sure?" Eddie asked.
"Yeah," Chrissy said. "I don't think she would be struggling so much if she didn't. . .but then again, what do I know?"
"I think you know a lot more than I do, Henderson," Eddie said.
"I think I hear her waking up. I have to go. I love you," Chrissy said.
"I love you, too," Eddie said.
"I love you more," Chrissy replied.
"Scientifically not possible," he laughed.
"Freak."
"Witch."
Chrissy made it back to her room to find Nancy sitting up and looking around in complete confusion. She crawled onto the bed and set next to her.
"How are you feeling?" Chrissy asked.
"Head is killing me," Nancy groaned.
Chrissy grabbed some medicine from her bedside table and handed her the glass of water.
"Drink all the water too," Chrissy said.
"Yes, Dr. Henderson," Nancy said, and Chrissy giggled. "I didn't do anything embarrassing, did I?"
The smile fell from Chrissy's face, and she bit her lip as she stared at Nancy.
"Well, um. . ." Chrissy trailed off.
"What did I do?" Nancy asked.
"Well, it's not what you did. . .it's more like what you said, really," Chrissy said.
"What did I say?" She asked as she continued to drink her water.
"Well, I'm not sure. . . Well, maybe we should wait until your headache goes away," Chrissy said.
"Chris, just tell me," Nancy said.
"Well, Eddie and I got stuck in the bathroom with you guys when you burst in. We were hiding in the tub. Steve was trying to get the punch that was spilled on you off, and then you started going on about partying and like you guys were in love, like you guys didn't kill Barb. Steve said, "Like we're in love," and then he asked, "You don't love me?" You said it was bullshit. It was all bullshit," Chrissy said and paused for a moment.
Nancy looked like she had been punched. Tears welled up in her blue eyes. Chrissy bit her lip again.
"Who brought me here?" Nancy asked.
"I had Jonathan and Argyle bring you here," Chrissy said.
"What happened to Steve?" She asked.
"Well, according to Robin. . .he ran out of the party crying, but not before he made sure you were okay," Chrissy said. "He asked Jonathan and Argyle to look after you."
"I didn't mean it," Nancy sniffled. "At least I don't think I did."
"Of course, you didn't, babe. You weren't exactly articulate, bullshit could have meant anything," Chrissy said.
"I just can't pretend like I'm okay anymore. I can't keep going to dinner with Barb's parents with Steve and knowing that we know what really happened with Barb. They still think it was a bear attack!" Nancy exclaimed. "They're moving, you know! Probably won't see them again."
"You've been having dinner with Barb's parents?" Chrissy asked.
"Uh, yeah. Steve offered to go with me, but I think he's getting tired of going," Nancy said. "And I'm tired of those bastards just sitting up there, getting away with murdering Barb!"
"Well, maybe it's finally time you sit down and talk with Steve about how you feel," Chrissy said. "Tell him what need from him."
"I don't know what that is, though," Nancy sighed as she laid back on the bed.
"Then tell him that. Tell him something. In your own way, you've both been putting this off for a very long time. I think it's because you were both afraid to hear the person you love tell you that it's your fault. You were afraid to hear those words from Steve, so you said them first, projecting your own guilt about Barb onto him. You both have been afraid that it might be true, but it's not. You need to tell each other that, and I guarantee that if you ask Steve, he'll tell you the same thing. It's not your fault what happened to me and Barb that night. You and Steve did nothing wrong. It was the asshole scientist who decided to play God, and who opened a door that he never should have," Chrissy said. "You need to be angry together, not angry at each other."
Nancy really needed to hear that because she broke down in sobs, collapsing in Chrissy's lap. Chrissy held her tightly as she cried, running her fingers through Nancy's hair. After a while, her sobs subsided, and she sat up, wiping her eyes. She hugged Chrissy tightly, clutching her as if her life depended on it.
"Are we always going to be fucked up?" Nancy whispered.
"Probably, but we can be fucked up together," Chrissy said.
"I love you," Nancy whispered.
"Love you, too, always," Chrissy said and pressed a hard kiss to her cheek.
She knew that Nancy wasn't a very affectionate person, but when the girl needed it, Chrissy was willing to give it as much as she wanted to. So, she let Nancy cling to her as long as possible before finally getting ready for school. She let Nancy borrow her clothes again and her products before making sure she ate plenty of breakfast as well as drank some more water. Dustin didn't question Nancy's presence. His mind was elsewhere, and every so often, he kept looking towards his bedroom.
"I think Dusty might have brought home another stray animal again," Chrissy whispered to Nancy.
"Again?" Nancy asked.
"I'll tell you later about the raccoon incident," Chrissy giggled.
It was Argyle and Jonathan who picked them up that morning. Robin surprised them by jumping out of the back of the van and hugging her sister tightly. Again, none of the Wheelers were very physically affectionate, but in moments like these, they held each other close. Chrissy smiled. They always found other ways to show each other they cared. Chrissy didn't miss the rock that Robin slipped into Nancy's pocket. Chrissy's smile grew.
"Thank you for being there for Steve," Nancy said.
"It wasn't a problem," Robin replied softly.
When they pulled up into the school parking lot, Eddie was parked a few feet away. Steve was leaning against his van, his arms crossed as Eddie talked softly with him. Chrissy motioned for them to stay with Argyle before walking over to Steve and Eddie.
"Hey, Steve," Chrissy said softly.
"How is she?" Steve asked.
"She's got a killer hangover," Chrissy said. "But I don't think that's what you meant. She's confused. She doesn't remember what happened last night, but I did tell her. We had a long talk this morning. I won't tell you exactly what she said, but she's getting ready to talk about Barb with you. She knows now that she needs to despite the fact she might not ever really be ready, but she can't keep it in either. Just don't give up. There's hope for you two. You should probably give each a couple of days to breathe, though. Let her get her thoughts together. Okay?"
"Yeah, okay," Steve said and paused. "I just didn't know how to help her, you know?"
"Letting her know that you feel lost too is the first step. The rest will hopefully fall into place," Chrissy said and hugged him tightly.
"How do you know so much?" Steve asked as he pulled back.
"By feeling mostly and a hell of a lot of therapy after I got removed from the Cunninghams," Chrissy said and sighed. "I'm not even sure what I'm doing or if it's even helping. . ."
"It is! Helping, that is," Steve said and paused. "Hey, do you have a clue why your boyfriend decided to measure my neck this morning?"
"Don't ask," Chrissy laughed as Eddie cackled.
"Yeah, I was afraid of that," Steve frowned as he walked ahead of them.
"You're amazing. You know that?" Eddie asked as he wrapped his arm around her waist.
"Hm, tell me more about how amazing I am," Chrissy beamed.
"There's so many things. . .where to start. . .where to start. . .I fucking love the way you snore, it's the cutest goddamn thing in the world," Eddie grinned.
"I don't snore!" Chrissy exclaimed.
"You do!"
"Do not!"
"Do too!"
"Not!"
"Too!"
"Freak!"
"Witch!"
The rest of the day was pretty awkward, especially around lunchtime when the group was separated. Argyle, Jonathan, Robin, and Nancy went off to eat at another table while the others remained where they were.
"What the fuck happened at that party?" Jeff asked.
"Let's just say Nancy and Steve had a fight. Let's leave it at that, shall we?" Chrissy asked.
Gareth, Frankie, and Jeff shared a look, but when they saw the look on Steve’s face, they didn't say anything. The day seemed to drag on, and before they knew it, they were leaving school again. This time, Chrissy was driven home by Eddie. Nancy and Robin were brought home by Argyle. It was strange coming home and getting ready for work, knowing what her friends were going through, but there wasn't much else she could do for them. They had to sort this out on their own. Chrissy had just put on her uniform when she and Eddie heard a curious noise from her brother's room. Frowning, she went to investigate. Chrissy rapped her knuckles on her brother's door. He slid the door open a couple of inches.
"Hey, Chrissy, Eddie, how's it going?" Dustin asked cheerfully.
"Well, you're definitely up to something," Eddie said.
"What makes you say that?" Dustin asked.
"Because nothing about your tone of voice sounds innocent," Eddie said, narrowing his eyes at him. "I doubt your mother knows what you're keeping in your room."
"Shut up! You're not my real dad!" Dustin exclaimed.
"Okay," Eddie said and turned to Chrissy. "I love your brother, but I feel like if I want to keep loving your brother, I'm going to have to wait in the van."
Eddie sighed, kissed Chrissy, and gave Dustin a look before leaving.
"Well, he's going to be helpful when you guys have kids," Dustin quipped.
"Dustin! You better not be keeping another raccoon in there! You know Mews is afraid of them!" Chrissy exclaimed.
"Chrissy. . .I can tell you with absolute certainty that I am not keeping a raccoon in my room," Dustin said seriously.
Chrissy sighed and narrowed her eyes at him before leaving. She hopped into Eddie's van and shared a look with him.
"We're never having kids," they said in unison.
"Who knows what kind of things my spawn would hide in their room? Probably weird lizard creatures that look like they come from a different plane of existence," Eddie said, and Chrissy laughed. "We would never be able to have cats because then the weird lizard creatures would eat them. Baby, we have to have cats."
"Noted. . .that's oddly descriptive, though. What's with the lizard creatures eating cats?" Chrissy asked.
"I don't know. It just popped into my head," Eddie said, shrugged.
Usually, her time at Surfer Boy perked her up, but not today. She couldn't get Nancy and Steve out of her head. She also felt Argyle's absence. He was always there whenever she worked, but he never showed up. Maybe he decided to help Nancy. The next day was even more strange. Nancy, Argyle, and Jonathan didn't show up to school. According to Robin, Nancy had decided to sleep over at Ally's but then never came home.
"I just don't get it. Why wouldn't she invite me?" Robin asked as she leaned against Chrissy's locker.
"Doesn't Ally not like you?" Chrissy asked.
"That's not the point. Nancy is my sister," Robin said. "And where the hell are the other two?"
"Well, I did say Nancy needed to a couple of days to breathe," Chrissy said. "Maybe they decided to skip."
"And they didn't invite me?" Robin whined.
"Relax, Robin," Chrissy laughed.
"You relax!"
She held onto the hope that Nancy really decided to take a day for herself. If anyone needed it, it was Nancy. She held onto it until lunchtime. Chrissy had long since gotten her food when her boyfriend and Steve sat down in front of her and Robin.
"Thanks for helping me out in the shower, man," Steve said.
"No, problem, I'll gladly help you anytime you have trouble with that asshole," Eddie said.
Chrissy froze, her spoon halfway to her mouth. Gareth and Jeff leaned forward with interest, their conversation long forgotten. Meanwhile, images were filling Chrissy's head.
"Okay, Chrissy's eyes are glazing over, we're going to need to some context before she goes somewhere else completely," Robin said.
"Uh, what?! Oh!" Eddie exclaimed. "Tommy and Billy were teasing Steve in the showers. I scared them off. . .and Chrissy, like I said, if I were to leave you for a man, it would be Jeff."
Chrissy huffed and rolled her eyes. She was a little disappointed but she could live.
"Chrissy, babe, you're worse than a man sometimes," Robin said.
"Well, I am livid. Now that the image is in my head, it is not leaving," Jeff said.
"Tell me about it," Chrissy said, and high fived Jeff.
"Stop proving my point, Jeff," Robin said.
"But just so you know, if you and Steve ever need 'help' in the shower, you have my full permission," Chrissy said.
"And mine!" Jeff chimed in.
"I don't need yours, man!" Eddie laughed.
"Seriously?" Robin asked.
"What? We're only young once. Besides, if you can't cross the boundaries of intimacy with your friends every once in a while, who can you cross them with?" Chrissy and ran her foot up his leg.
"Chrissy! That's my leg!" Steve exclaimed.
"Are you saying that we have an open relationship?" Eddie asked.
"I'm saying there's wiggle room to negotiate, especially for Steve. Isn't that right, big boy?" Chrissy winked at him, and he coughed on his chocolate milk. "Sorry, just trying to flirt with you to cheer you up. Is it working?"
"Yeah," Steve laughed. "Assholes."
"Well, if you can't beat 'em, eat 'em," Eddie said casually.
The table burst into laughter. Steve laughed as he shoved Eddie.
"Stupidest thing I ever heard, man," Steve said. "Doesn't even make sense."
It really was the stupidest thing Eddie ever uttered, but for some reason, it made them all laugh. The tension that had been slowly hanging over the air over the last day or so slowly started to fade. Chrissy really didn't want to ruin the moment, but she was curious about what Billy and Tommy said to Steve. She mostly just wanted to shake the image of a wet naked Eddie and Steve out of her head. Bad girl, Chrissy.
"So, what were they teasing you about?" Chrissy said.
"Oh, just about how someone saw Nancy take off with Jonathan and how they left town together," Steve scowled.
"Well, I think Argyle went with them. All three of them are gone," Robin said.
"Wait, she seriously left?" Eddie asked.
"Well, Nancy needed to clear her head. Jonathan and Argyle probably went to help her," Chrissy said.
"They'll probably be back by this afternoon," Robin shrugged.
"Right," Steve sighed as he played with his food, causing Robin to kick him. "Ow! Robin!"
"Steve!"
"Why?!"
"Turn that frown upside down, popeye."
The rest of the day went by a little easier, even with Hargrove's eyes on her. Eddie took both Chrissy and Dustin home that afternoon. He was going to take Chrissy to work again before heading over to Thatcher's Tire. Dustin was out of the van before Eddie could come to a complete stop.
"Wait, until I stop, butthead!" Eddie yelled and turned to Chrissy. "He's going to make my hair go gray."
"Aw, do you want Mommy to fix Daddy a martini?" Chrissy asked. "Hard day at work, did you? The kids driving you up the wall?"
"Ha, fucking, ha, Henderson," Eddie scoffed.
Chrissy laughed as she got out of the van and followed her brother. She unlocked the door, letting the three of them into the house. Their mother wasn't home from work yet, so it was just them. Chrissy was in desperate need of a cat cuddle, though.
"Mews! Here, kitty, kitty, kitty!" Chrissy said and made kissing noises. "Where is he?"
"Mews? Here, boy!" Eddie called.
"Dusty? Did you leave a window open again?" Chrissy asked.
"Shit! Shit! Shit!" Dustin exclaimed and ran towards his room.
The two of them followed Dustin to his bedroom. He opened the door, leaving it open for the other two to follow. There was a strange chewing and growling sound coming from behind his chair. They moved closer to the chair, and Chrissy froze. A rather familiar looking creature, smaller than usual, was behind the chair and chowing down on what was left of Mews. Chrissy gasped. The creature popped its head up and turned to them, opening its face up like a flower.
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Eddie screamed.
The baby demogorgon ran at them, and Dustin hurried to push them out of the room before slamming the door. Chrissy stared at her little brother with wide eyes. That's what he had been keeping in his room? She was about to say something to him when Eddie screamed again. Chrissy turned to him and grabbed his arms.
"Eddie, baby, I'm so sorry," Chrissy said softly.
"Sorry?" He gasped as his eyes widened in confusion.
"I haven't been entirely truthful with you. . ."

Unwavering sunlight.
That was the first thing Gabriella Kane saw once she opened her eyes. The second thing she noticed was her location -- she was on the back of a moving horse in the middle of the forest. Over the pounding in her head, she could hear deep male voices speaking in another language, it sounded similar to English but it had a weird accent and the words were twisted.
"'Bout time you woke up. I was beginning to get freaked out."
Gabriella's head snapped to the sound of the hushed whisper and her eyes connected with Wells'. She let out a sigh of relief. She was glad that she was not alone.
When she tried to sit up a little, she felt that her legs were bound. She tried to move her hands next, only to realize her wrists were bound too.
"Great." The blonde huffed in frustration, tilting her head to connect her blue eyes with Wells' dark ones. "Well...I'm glad we spent so much time together before we died."
-
"How did you get to be such a dick, Murphy?"
Murphy flinched at the coldness in Raven's tone and closed his eyes, leaning his head against the metal of the dropship. "I'm sorry for shooting you, okay? I'm sorry for a lot of things I did and didn't do that day. Is that what you want to hear?"
"Let me guess. Mommy and Daddy didn't love you?" Raven continued taunting, ignoring his apology.
"No, they loved me." Murphy said, staring at his bloodied hands that lay in his lap, trying to keep the image of a teary-eyed Gabriella watching him leave through the hole in the dropship out of his head.
Raven made a noise of amusement in the back of her throat and mocked him, "Are you gonna cry, Murphy?"
"Screw you, Raven."
"No, tell me. I want to know." Raven spoke, venom in her voice, "How does a kid who's loved by his parents, who has the greatest girl in the universe willing to die for him, turn into a murdering psychopath?"
Murphy stared at the wall, refusing to make eye contact with the wounded mechanic beside him, and spoke "He gets the flu. His father steals medicine that turns out wouldn't help anyway. Gets floated for it and...his mother, she starts drinking pretty heavily after that and the last words she says to him before he finds her in a pool of her own vomit is that..." He swallowed a sob threatening to escape him "...is that he killed his father. Then, he finally gets the freedom he always wanted, gets sent to Earth with the only important person in his life, gets hanged for a crime he didn't commit, and then gets banished because a little girl could not handle the guilt of being a murderer...and when he comes back, he finds out the girl he loves has feelings for the guy that banished and hung him."
"Boo-hoo."
-
"How do you think they're gonna kill us?" Wells spoke up, in a hushed whisper, after what felt like hours of moving through the woods. They both knew trying to escape would only result in dying sooner and when Gabriella tried to ask them where they were going, she was ignored.
"I don't know, probably chain us up, torture us like they did with John. Or they'll just lock us up in a room together, alone. Until eventually we die from dehydration." Gabriella responded dryly, shrugging her shoulders as best as she could and giving him a mocking grin that did not quite reach her eyes. "That would be painful enough."
"You're hilarious, you know that right?" Wells deadpanned, annoyance dripping from his voice.
"Well one of us has to be." Gabriella sighed, closing her eyes in the hope the lack of light would ease her headache, only for her eyes to snap open in alarm when the horse Wells was on stumbled a bit and made the boy beside her fall onto the ground, right on his bad shoulder. Gabriella's shoulder wound would probably only leave a scar, his looked like it would not heal anytime soon.
Both horses came to a halt and the grounder that kidnapped them turned to glare at Wells, who was too busy groaning in pain to notice anything.
"On your feet." The grounder ordered.
"He can't keep up." Gabriella was quick to defend him. "Give him a minute."
The grounder ignored her and got off the horse he was previously seated on. While Gabriella desperately tried to get Wells to stand up with her tied hands, the grounder stepped in front of them with a murderous glare. "I said get on your feet."
"Come on, Charming. Get up." Gabriella hissed quietly, trying to lift the boy up by taking hold of his good forearm.
Wells weakly stood on his knees, giving Gabriella an apologetic look. Once the grounder saw he was not getting the reaction he wanted out of either of them, he took the sword in his hand and stabbed Wells' wounded shoulder, making him cry out in pain while Gabriella's face flashed in panic.
"That's one." The grounder spat "I lost three hundred."
"Give us a minute and we'll get going." Gabriella glared but her face turned pleading as she spoke her next words. "Just let me help him."
The blonde did not wait for a response before she looked down at a half-conscious Wells, who was looking up at her with hooded eyes.
"If you die I'm gonna kill you, you hear that, Junior? I'm gonna kill you." Gabriella rambled, putting pressure on his wound, just like she had seen Clarke do multiple times. "You're not dying before we get back to Clarke. And even then you can't die" She let out a small sigh of displeasure at the feeling of Wells' blood on her hands. "I haven't run out of nicknames for you yet." Wells let a breathy chuckle escape his lips before he let his eyes close. Gabriella's eyes widened at the sight and she elbowed him in the stomach in hopes the pain from his old wound would get him to stay awake. "Don't fall asleep, Wells. Stay awake."
"I need to keep one of you alive to talk to The Commander." The grounder spoke up again, sporting a bored look on his face. "Now, get up."
"No." Gabriella said stubbornly, not even flinching when the grounder lifted the sword in his hand in the air threateningly. "You can kill me if you want--" She pressed harder against the bleeding wound, earning a grunt of pain that made her realize the boy on the floor was now conscious again, "--but then you won't have anyone to bring to your precious Commander. Wells and I come as a matching set. If you let him die then I will gladly slit my-"
Her words were cut off when a loud "Hey!" was heard behind them. Gabriella's head snapped to the source of the sound to see Bellamy with a spear in his hand. She squinted her eyes at his unmoving figure. Why the hell wasn't he throwing it?
The oldest Blake looked through the trees expectantly -- almost as if he was waiting for something to happen.
"What the hell are you doing?" Gabriella yelled, "Get out of here!"
The grounder did not waste a second before marching up to Bellamy with his sword raised high. Bellamy clenched his jaw and tried to hit him with a spear, only to have it fly right above the grounder's head and next to Gabriella. If this was not a life or death situation, the girl would have his ass for almost killing her, but she was too busy trying to keep Wells alive and worrying whether her co-leader was going to get himself killed. The grounder used the back of his sword to knock Bellamy to the ground, straight on his back.
Bellamy coughed out blood and Gabriella could only stare in horror as the grounder started beating him up. If her legs and wrists were not tied, she would not waste a second to help him but she was helpless.
There was nothing Gabriella Kane hated more than being helpless.
She felt helpless when her mother got floated, when Sam died, when Murphy got hung, when Monty and Clarke went missing when Murphy locked Jasper and Bellamy inside of the dropship and tried to kill them...
And she absolutely hated it.
"Stop it!" She pleaded desperately, her voice shaking slightly. "You'll kill him!"
After a few minutes of the nameless grounder beating Bellamy into a bloody pulp and Gabriella begging for him to stop, he finally did and tied Bellamy up to stand next to them. In the meantime, Gabriella was able to tear a part of her shirt off and wrap it around Wells' shoulder.
Wells grunted and opened his eyes, when the fabric was secure around his shoulder. "I didn't know you cared that much."
"I don't." Gabriella deadpanned. "But Clarke would kill me if she found out I left you to bleed to death. But you and I? We still hate each other."
"Noted." Wells nodded weakly, letting Gabriella help him stand up and flinching as she did.
When Wells was on his feet, Gabriella gave Bellamy a death glare, which he responded to with an almost sheepish shrug.
"Why are you here?" She whispered, wiping the blood off her hands on her shirt. "You're supposed to be in the dropship."
"I didn't make it in time" Bellamy whispered back, defending himself quickly, "so I went looking for you."
Gabriella took a deep breath before turning to the grounder. "Can you untie my feet? I can't walk like this."
The grounder hesitantly cut the rope off her feet, which allowed her to finally properly stretch her legs.
"Why were my legs bound and his weren't?" The blonde could not help but ask, not expecting the grounder to give her any type of answer but he did anyway.
"You kick in your sleep."
With those final words, the grounder turned around and left the three delinquents tied up, with Gabriella not taking her annoyed glare off of Bellamy.
Another surprise to all of them except Bellamy, was the sound of teenagers' battle screams. They turned around to see Finn, Sterling, and Monroe running to them with their weapons in hand.
The trio was not able to get far when a bullet went straight through the grounder's skull. All six delinquents gaped at the dead body in shock and surprise.
Their surprise increased when Marcus Kane stepped out from behind the trees with a couple of guards behind him, all of them armed with a gun. Gabriella felt as the world froze as she watched her father put the gun down and connect his eyes with hers. Her father was alive, he did not die when the exodus ship crashed.
"We're here now. Everything's gonna be okay." Marcus assured them, his eyes flickering from his beaten up daughter to the remaining of the hundred behind her.
The guards untied their hands and Gabriella assessed Bellamy in not falling on his ass again, while Finn led Wells over to Abby Griffin so she could check his shoulder.
"I'm fine. Ella fixed me up. We need to get back to the dropship." Wells said, shaking off Abby's concern, his mind solemnly on coming back to Clarke.
"Hey. Where's Clarke? Is she all right?" Abby asked, mainly looking between Wells and Gabriella even though her question was directed towards Bellamy and Finn too.
"She was when we left." Finn answered, drawing Abby's attention on him. "We'll take you to her."
Marcus was quick to stop them from making their way back to the delinquent camp. "Wait. Slow down." He looked over their shoulders to someone in the crowd. "Sinclair. We're splitting up. One guard detail comes with me to the dropship. Everyone else here goes with you to Alpha Station. You have the coordinates. We'll follow later, as soon as we can."
"Yes, si--"
Sinclair's words were cut off when Gabriella tackled him into a long-awaited hug, her arms wrapping around his shoulders. The head of engineering stumbled backward a bit but hugged back as soon as he realized who it was. Gabriella knew he was not in the exodus ship because he was still needed on The Ark but knowing he was down on Earth and safe, made her feel at ease.
She was relieved she did not lose anyone else important to her.
Gabriella pulled away with a small smile. "I'm happy you're okay."
Sinclair ruffled her already messy hair and smiled back. He noticed she had some blood in it, there and all over her but other than that, she seemed perfectly fine. "You too kiddo. I knew you would not go down easy."
With one last smile, Gabriella turned around to connect her gaze with her father, who was watching the interaction with slight envy, before she made her way back to her friends.
"Okay, you six with me." Marcus commanded a couple of guards before he turned to the remaining delinquents. "You four, lead the way."
-
As Gabriella got closer to camp, with the three boys, her father, Abby and six guards trailing close behind her, she saw dead bodies lying all over the ground. Some were grounders and some were their people -- her people. Teenagers who followed her and Bellamy into battle without a second thought, teenagers who were willing to fight and die for their ground -- for their home.
"It's too quiet." Bellamy commented, eying the dead bodies with an unreadable look on his face, most likely having the same dreadful thoughts as Gabriella.
The female Kane connected her wary haze with Bellamy's and they both went to stand up from their kneeling position, only for Marcus to take a hold of their forearms.
"We'll take it from here." He said in a dismissive tone Gabriella was so used to hearing whenever he was speaking to her. She tore her unamused gaze away from her father and looked back at Bellamy to see him already looking at her with a knowing look.
The two leaders could faintly hear Marcus commanding two guards to stay with them while he and the four other guards check out the dropship, but they were too busy trying to make a plan only by holding eye contact.
But they both knew one thing, they needed to find out what happened to their people.
Marcus led Abby and four guards inside and left the four delinquents with the two remaining guards. Gabriella pursed her lips in annoyance, the fact that her father was still treating her like a child and trying to act like he's suddenly the one in charge, after everything he did, passing her off more than anything in the last few weeks.
"We need a stretcher!" A voice was heard from inside of camp and all four of them perked up in worry, trying to get through the guards and inside.
Bellamy tilted his head at Gabriella and nodded behind her where she knew a foxhole was located. The blonde leaned her head between Wells and Finn so she was out of earshot to the guards and whispered, "Follow our lead."
And a second later, the two remaining leaders of the hundred made a beeline towards a foxhole, Wells and Finn hot on their trail. They could hear the guards yelling after them but they ignored them and ran straight through the foxhole and into their camp.
Gabriella took a deep breath at the sight in front of her. Everything they built, everything they worked so hard for was ruined, burned down, and with dead bodies burnt to ashes across the ground. But most importantly, it was empty.
"Where is everybody?" Wells asked, echoing everyone's thoughts out loud.
"It was awful. There were hundreds of them and if it wasn't for Raven-- I don't know what happened."
Gabriella's jaw and fists clenched at the familiar voice and she turned around to see none other than John Murphy being carried out of the dropship by a guard.
Once the limping boy caught sight of the four delinquents (but mainly the leaders) his mouth dropped open in surprise and he stuttered out "Ellie, Bellamy. You're . . . you're alive."
Gabriella was about to pounce on him, throw a few punches, until Bellamy beat her to it. She wasn't sure of the exact reason she wanted to be the one to do it. Maybe it was for betraying her trust like that, for holding Jasper at gunpoint, hanging Bellamy, or shooting Raven but he gave her so many reasons to hate him in the last forty-eight hours she couldn't not want to beat the shit out of him.
"You murdering son of a bitch!" Bellamy growled as he tackled Murphy to the ground. He threw the first punch, then another, and another...
If it was any other day, Gabriella would have stopped him and yelled at him for doing so but instead of her, it was Finn who screamed at him to stop. Gabriella could feel her father's curious gaze on the side of her face, probably wondering why she was not doing anything about the situation, but she was not going to give him the satisfaction of turning around. he wanted to know what the hell happened between her and her so-called best friend since they had been sent to the ground.
The engineer was too busy watching the fight to notice Marcus motioning to a guard to pull Bellamy off of Murphy but she took a cautious step forward once she saw the guard step closer with a shock baton in his hand. She did not even get a chance to warn Bellamy before the guard shocked him and he fell off of Murphy and onto the ground with a painful groan.
Marcus brushed passed his daughter and looked down at Bellamy with something close to disgust, speaking in a cold tone. "Place him under arrest."
"No." Gabriella exclaimed, moving away from Wells and Finn to stand in front of Bellamy almost protectively. "You are not in charge here anymore, Kane. We have been surviving on our own these last few weeks and Bellamy has no reason to get arrested." Her eyes flickered over to a blood-covered Murphy lying on the floor as she added, "If you're planning to arrest any of us it should be John."
"Exactly." Finn agreed, "Murphy murdered two of our people. He shot two others and tried to hang Bellamy."
One of the guards took hold of Gabriella's forearms and moved her away from Bellamy so the other two guards could get him up and tie his wrists together.
"I don't care. You are not animals. There are rules. Laws." Marcus spoke, turning around to look at his glaring daughter. "You are not in control here anymore."
"Let me go." Gabriella grunted in frustration, trying to get out of the guard's grip. "Tell him to let me go."
"I can't do that, Gabriella." Marcus told her, but there was nothing genuine in his voice. "You'll stay locked up until we get to our camp."
"Go float yourself." The eighteen-year-old spat harshly, using the back of her heel to kick the guard's shin and making him let her go. She turned around quickly and raised her knee to kick him between his legs and he quickly put his hands over the place, grunting in pain as he did.
Once she was satisfied with her work, Gabriella turned around and flashed her father a sarcastic grin. "Looks like you have to lock me up permanently this time, Dad."
Marcus clenched his jaw and motioned for one of the guards who was holding Bellamy to tie her up as well. When her hands were bound, she was placed next to Bellamy with two guards standing behind them warily.
"That was idiotically Gabriella of you." Bellamy levels her with an unimpressed look, which she shrugged at.
"You're the one to talk after what you did an hour ago."
Bellamy scoffed in slight offense. "Excuse me for saving your ass. Seems like I've been doing a lot of that since we landed."
"I thought it was the other way around." Gabriella snapped with an annoyed glare.
Suddenly, all attention turned to Raven being carried out of the dropship with Abby behind her. Gabriella's eyes flashed in worry, suddenly remembering what happened to her friend before the battle even started.
"Raven." Finn gasped, stepping closer to his ex-girlfriend's unconscious body.
"She's lost a lot of blood. It's a miracle that she's still alive." Abby explained before a permanent frown full of disappointment settled on her face- "There's no one else in there."
"What?" Gabriella muttered to herself, wide eyes connecting with Bellamy's equally confused ones.
"What the hell happened here?"
-
Gabriella was seated on the ground beside Bellamy with a stressed and pissed-off look on her face. The guards were scouting the area around the dropship, trying to see if anyone else was there but finding no one yet.
"We're leaving." Finn announced as he and Wells marched over to their two remaining leaders.
"What?" Bellamy asked, confusion clear on his face- "This is where they'll come back."
"I don't think they're coming back. The grounders took them and you know that." Finn said, shaking his head solemnly.
Seeing both Gabriella and Bellamy were skeptical, Wells quickly added, "Look, according to Finn, there's supposed to be at least fifty of our people missing from the dropship, which means they didn't leave like that. Clarke would not allow so many of them to go through the woods after the war we just went through."
Finn nodded and scrunched down in front of Gabriella and Bellamy. "We go with Kane to Alpha Station, we get reinforcement and weapons, and then we find our friends."
"One question." Bellamy spoke, still a bit skeptical. "How many more of us will be dead by then?"
Finn's eyes briefly flickered to an unconscious Raven before he turned back around to look at Bellamy. "Abby says Raven needs surgery or she's gonna die."
Tense silence settled among them and Gabriella gaped at his words.
"Shit." Was the only thing that she was able to make out, but even that came out as a whisper.
Wells gave her a sympathetic look. "It's time to go."
And just like that, they were leaving their home behind, again.

My first HSS short story series , Alcoholic Chapter 2 ( ending ) ( Finally, have time to post )
After many things happened , Sonia still didn't reduce the amount that she drank . She always got drunk and came home and fell asleep in the living room .
One day , Sonia was in the living room and she was drinking beer . Rosie can't let this continue and said to Sonia .
'Sonia,  you drink beer , again ? '
' Yup , but just a can of beer , that's nothing . '
' But not just one can , you had already drink five cans of beer before dinner , and after dinner you are still drinking alcoholic beverages !  ' said Rosie .
' That's no big deal , just a can of
 '
' No big deal ? What no big deal ? Did you know that if you drink too much alcoholic beverages will hurt you and your health , you are an adult now , I also don't want to remind you everyday like a mom , but I can't let you drink too much
 '
Sonia starts to get angry while listening to Rosie .
Sonia threw away the can of beer that she was drinking on the floor and started to yell at Rosie .
' Enough , Rosie !  Thats none of your business,  why you always tell me not to drink alcohol , everyone drinks it ,  why you don't stop them ,
but me . Who are you ?  Why do you think that I will listen to you , you are so annoying ! ' Sonia yelled and she stood up .
' I don't want to hear your voice anymore , I leave ! ‘ Sonia said and she went away and slammed the door .
The rest of the HSS girls stood in their place , all shocked by the things that they had seen just now.
' She trippin' ! ' said Rhonda.  ' Ignore her , Rosie , she will find out that you were right , let's just wait ! '
' Sonia sometimes like this , Rosie , she always suddenly scolds us when she is drunk , but this time was the most serious one
 and to you . Sorry , Rosie
 ' Susan was trying to comfort her .
But Rosie just stood there , motionless

' Uhh
 Rosie , are you ok ? ' questioned Nadya.
Rosie came back to reality .
'' Uhh , oh , I am fine , I go upstairs and have a rest
 ' said Rosie and she walked back into her room.
The HSS girls looked at each other , worried about Sonia and Rosie

At midnight 1 :00 am
Sonia came back home , seriously drunk , and went to her room to sleep immediately.
At midnight 4:15 am
Sonia was sweating and breathing heavily , she felt her upper right abdomen was in pain , she woke up and wanted to go downstairs to eat some panadol . However , when she walked out of her room , her vision suddenly became buried and she fainted on the floor and black out

Karen's cat Phoenix came out of Karen ' s room cause she heard a familiar voice ,  she saw Sonia lying on the floor , no matter how Phoenix called her or put her paws on Sonia,  there was no response.
Phoenix rushed back into Karen's room and tried to wake Karen up but failed , she was dreaming.  Then Phoenix jumped on her bed then jumped up high and landed on Karen' s chest.  Karen was awakened by this incoming force .
' Phoenix !  What happened ? ' yelled Karen.
But Phoenix immediately ran out of her room , then Karen followed after her.  When Karen came out of her room she saw Sonia lying on the floor.
' Sonia? Sonia ! Wake up , Sonia
  ' yelled Karen.
In the hospital
Sonia woke up and found herself in a bed.
' Hey , she woke up . Are you ok ? Sonia , you nearly freak us out when we saw you lying on the floor unconscious !  ' said Nadya.
' Where am I and why am I here ? ' asked Sonia

Nancy jumped on Sonia’s bed and looked at Sonia with worried eyes .
' You are in the hospital , Sonia . The doctor said you had alcoholic hepatitis because you drank too much alcohol ! And the doctor recommended that you stay here for at least 7 weeks . But since there is no medicine to cure your disease , your liver is permanently damaged. ' said Karen.
Sonia kept silent .
' Excuse me , the visiting time is over , it's time to leave, ' said the nurse.
' We had to leave , Sonia , take your rest . ' said Rosie .
When they walked out of her ward , Rosie received a message from Sonia : Can you visit me tonight , I had something to talk to you about . '
At night , Rosie came to the hospital to visit Sonia , she was lying in her bed , sobbing

' Sonia , I came.  ' said Rosie .
Sonia immediately wiped her tears and sat up slowly .
' Oh , Rosie you came, ' said Sonia.
' Do you feel better now ? '
' Yes
 I feel better now , ' Sonia paused and looked at Rosie .
' Rosie
 I am so sorry
 ' said Sonia.
' Why do you need to say sorry to me ? ' asked Rosie .
' I said something mean to you yesterday , I didn't mean to say it , but I just can't control myself . Because not just you , my parents also said I am a alcoholic ,  I was so annoyed , when you are scolding at me , I just think you and my parents are the same , and I have had enough , so I just started to blast on you  , so sorry , Rosie
 I know that you won't forgive me
 I know that I am wrong , I
 '
At that time , Rosie sat on the side of her bed , hugged Sonia .
Sonia was surprised because Rosie seldom or even won't suddenly hug someone . But Sonia wrapped her arm around Rosie.
' That's ok , I know you didn't say it on purpose , you are just affected by alcohol , I forgive you , Sonia . I won't blame you . ' said Rosie .
Sonia burst into tears and kept apologizing to Rosie .
Later
Rosie came back to her house , it was already 10:00 pm . Most of them were asleep . But there 's one waiting for her .
' Rosie . ' a voice called her .
Rosie turned around and saw Karen sitting on the sofa with Phoenix,  her cat .
' Karen , it is already 10:00 pm , why don't you go to sleep , are you waiting for me ? ' asked Rosie.
' Honestly , I want to ask you something,  but can you go to my room and have a little talk ?'
Rosie is in Karen ' s room. Her room was neat , but sometimes her large desk had a lot of experimental stuff and things on it . A house for Phoenix to sleep in and a closet which has a combination lock on it.
' Rosie , you were scolded and yelled at by Sonia , why don't you get angry ? You just stood there and did nothing . ' asked Karen.
Rosie signed , '  Well , when she was scolding and yelling at me , the words she said was just like me yelling at my parents at 19 years old . Honestly , I also liked to drink alcohol when I was 18 . And my parents always want to stop me from telling the bad things about it and I ignored them .  So , when Sonia was yelling at me , at that moment , I knew what my parents felt because the things that she scolded at me were the same as the things I said at 19 years old ! '
' Because you don't want Sonia to become like you , so you didn't argued with her ? ' asked Karen
' Something like that , I really really don't want Sonia to become like me , but now I think she understands and she won't drink much alcohol . ' said Rosie with a smile.
' Yes , by the way , we had to say thank you to Phoenix,  cause if it was not her , I won't wake up at the middle of the night and found Sonia was lying on the floor . ' said Karen.
' Really , thank you Phoenix.  Rosie said to the cat and the cat meowed back.
' I think Sonia had learned a lesson '
' You are right,  Karen . Let's hope Sonia won't ever touch any alcoholic beverages again . ' said Rosie.

So my new medicine has a funny little side effect listed as "weird dreams" and as someone who has chronic nightmares I was (understandably) a little concerned.
My dreams have slowly become more vivid over the last week and yes, they started getting a bit weird, but last night was probably one of my favorite dream experiences in my entire life.
So the dream starts in what my brain approximates as S Boulder hwy in Nevada. Why? Idk. Lived around there when I was in 1st grade. Anyways, I'm drunk and end up in a tattoo parlor where I get not one but THREE tattoos as well as three piercings (all of them in my mouth and absolutely not somewhere that should be pierced) and also one of my eyeballs is replaced with a bingo ball.
So eventually I take a nap (in the back room of the tattoo parlor) and when I wake up from my nap I am absolutely horrified to realize that one of my tattoos is on my face. Right next to my bingo eye-ball. Naturally I'm freaking out about this face tattoo because I have an adult job and even if my boss is cool, I don't think he's 'face-tattoo' cool (real).
So I spend the rest of the dream trying different kinds of concealer and it's not until YEARS later that anyone at my job learns about my face tattoo, all because it was raining in my office and the concealer washed away :(
I woke up panicked, thinking "oh my god I need to find more concealer" and it took me a solid five minutes after getting out of bed at 3am to dig through my actual make-up bag to realize two things.
I did not actually have a face tattoo, and thus no need to apply concealer
The tattoo in question was a hockey stick
I don't play hockey. I don't watch hockey. But I never questioned the hockey stick. Or the bongo eye-ball now that I think about it.
10/10 I hope this trend continues.

Echoes of Courage: Chapter 14
This is a short one, so I hope you all enjoy!
It was Friday at noon when Kira woke up, feeling the plaguing headache that was her hangover from last night. ‘ Ugh, we drank so much. I won’t be drinking like that for a long while,’ sitting up straight, Kira checked her phone over, wondering if anyone from the labs called to wonder where she was. ‘Of course they wouldn’t, why would they,’ she thought bitterly, noting the lack of messages or phone calls from her internship but just happy enough to have a longer weekend to herself. Slowly getting up, realizing there was water and medicine, Kira figured that one of the girls gave it to her before sleeping over. Taking the pill with water, Kira started getting up, wondering how she was even able to put her pajamas on, let alone get to her bed. ‘God, I need more sleep, I feel exhausted.’ Opening her room, Kira was waiting to see the amount of mess she would’ve needed to clean up from last night’s event. Eyes still half opened, quickly noticing the cleaned living room (she made a mental note to thank Rai, assuming he came over, cleaned whatever mess they made and drop the girls off), Kira made her way to the kitchen, opening up the cupboards very carefully, grabbing whatever was the closest to make. Whether it was coffee or tea, she wasn’t sure yet. Luckily, the tea kettle was still warm enough to pour hot water into her mug, deciding on herbal tea, Kira started mixing both together as quietly as she could, unaware of the figure that was leaning against the sink, watching her drink tea with amusement in his eyes.
“Afternoon Kira.”
“Hey Donnie
”
After saying her pleasantries, still unaware of Donnie’s presence, Kira slowly walked out of the kitchen, tripping on the corners of the door frame before registering exactly who was in there. She did a double take and quickly turned back around to the kitchen.
‘EXCUSE ME?!’
“How did you get here! Did I do or say anything weird?!”
Kira asked, going to check her phone to see if she (or any of the girls) had texted Donnie, asking for him to come over. Hissing in pain from the mild freak out, Donnie chuckled slightly before slowly taking her to the living room to talk about the events that was last night. “You should really take it easy there, instead of screaming your head off.” Both taking the chance to sit on the couch, Donnie took a sip of his coffee before continuing, “and if you must know, you are all very loud and touchy when having too much to drink.” Kira put her tea down, rubbing her head slightly to try and calm down her headache and panic, ‘oh god, what did we do?!’ Trying to recall last night’s events, the only thing Kira could remember, barely , was feeling something touch her forehead. Noticing his silence, Kira questioned him again, “you still didn’t answer my question Donatello. How did you get in here? ” Sweating slightly while drinking his coffee, Donnie looked to the corner of the apartment, avoiding Kira’s questioning stare while trying to formulate how to explain to her last night. Finishing his last sip, he put the mug down, sighing out loud, clasping his hands together, getting his thoughts together.
“So! Izra called Rai to get food for you all, which turned into a whole disaster of what to get you guys, which led Rai begging Leo and I to help him get food for you all. So if you’re wondering, there is leftover pizza in your fridge. Anyway, so when Leo portaled us here, you were all very much too far gone that the two took the rest of them back to their place and I was left here in your care. Does that help or would you like to hear a recording of everything?”
Shocked to hear about what happened, but more surprised at the fact that Donnie actually stayed.
To take care of her.
While they were all super drunk.
‘I really am an idiot.’
“No, I don’t think I can handle hearing the embarrassment that was all of us yesterday. But thank you for explaining.” Nodding his head, the two sat quietly, not knowing what they should say next. Taking a couple more sips of her tea, Kira decided to ask, getting it out of the way seeing as he did take care of her and seeing a side of her that no one’s really seen, “did I do anything more than whatever else I did?” Hesitating a bit, not really sure how to answer what she asked, Donnie rolled his sleeve up a bit, showing his gauntlet. “I won’t play everything, I promise. But I’m going to show you a recording of what you did tell me before passing out.” Feeling anxious about what she might’ve slipped out, Kira prepared for the worst. Hoping that maybe after all this, Donnie might still want to be friends after everything, ‘ if he even wants that.’ Finding the recording to show her, Donnie played out what she had been crying out to him and what he had told her in return. Covering her mouth, Kira was speechless to say the least. After hearing her begging him to stay, Kira grabbed a hold of his wrist, promptly making the recording stop, slowly putting his arm down while she stared at her hands. Getting the message, Donnie rolled his sleeve back down, waiting to hear her response. ‘I can’t believe I said that. Oh god, he’s going to think I’m crazy now. But what he said to me
 I don’t-’
“You know, I meant every word that I said to you. ”
Turning her head fast, slightly regretting it, Kira stared at Donnie in shock, not knowing how to respond with that. “W-what?” Still staring straight ahead, sighing while trying very hard not to blush or show any other emotion while talking to her, “though you thought it was appropriate to continue the relationship, you took it in your hands and for once, didn’t think about any of us but yourself . That’s what it all matters in the end, right?” Feeling sweaty with nervousness from the conversation, before he could ramble anymore, Kira hugged him from the side, making his eyes widen, the blush that was slowly forming turning full red now. “Thank you Donnie. For everything. I’ve been a bad friend, haven’t I?” Surprised to hear that, Donnie did fully turn around, making Kira let go of her hug from him, so that they were facing each other, eye to eye. “If there’s one thing that I know you are and that’s not a bad friend. If anything, you were right to call out my own behavior. It was
 uncalled for. You didn’t deserve the cold shoulder I was giving you.” Smiling at that, happy to know how sorry both of them were for their actions, Kira put the back of her hand on his forehead, making him jump slightly in surprise of what she was doing. “Do you have a fever? Can’t believe I got the Donatello apology of the month, no, year here,” rolling his eyes at her, swatting her hand away, but slightly smiling at the teasing that came from Kira. “Har-har, I’ll remember that for next time, so better watch out.” Laughing softly at his threat, trying to carefully not bring anymore pain to her head as there already was. Smiling at her reaction, the air feeling once again light and free.
A feeling Donnie had missed the most.
“Oh yes, one more thing,” turning around to grab the object behind him, Donnie handed Kira back the blanket she had given him, perfectly folded into a square with the flower perfectly shown in the middle, she gasped softly at what he was handing back to her. “Thank you for letting me use it. You were right, it does surprisingly get cold in here at night. If it bothers you, I can always fix it to your liking.” Kira was at a loss for words. “I gave this to you last night?” Confused from her reaction, Donnie wasn’t sure what to think, “yes? Is there something wrong with it? I folded it to how you had given it to me, but if you had liked it any other way-” Kira stopped his talking, gently placing her hand on top of the primrose before fully grabbing it and putting it to the side. Before he could ask her if he had done anything wrong with using the blanket, Kira fully turned and hugged him around his waist, a soft “oof” coming from Donnie. Shocked by the sudden action, Donnie slowly wrapped his arms around her, hugging her back. “...it’s very special to me, that blanket.” Eyes widened slightly at that, before he could apologize for using something that was precious to her, Kira continued, “I rarely ever take it out. I don’t let anyone see or use it because back home, if anyone were to see it, they either try to keep it as their own or just dirty it up. That’s why it’s hidden from everyone, but
” Slowly letting go to look at his face, Kira smiled up to Donnie, eyes tearing up, “you took care of it. Even folded it to how it’s supposed to be. So, thank you. I appreciate it.” Softly smiling while looking at her, resisting the urge to bring his hands to her face to wipe away the tears that threaten to spill(again), “of course! Material such as that must be taken care of with as much care and delicacy as possibly! I’m not a monster, Kira.” “No, you most certainly aren’t!” Giggling at that while pulling away and wiping her tears of laughter, Kira happily agreed to his choice of words.
‘God, I really am an idiot. This feels right again.’
Hearing his phone go off, the sounds of text messages being sent, Donnie checked to see who it was that kept sending him so many rapidly. Sighing over what was being said, he stood up, stretching before facing Kira, “as much as I would love to stay, my genius mind is needed back home as per usual. So I should take my leave before my dum-dum brothers do anything to my precious lab or equipment.” Giggling while also standing, before offering to join him on his walk back home, a portal opened, letting them both know Leo was waiting on the other side of their home. “Thanks again Donnie. I appreciated that you stayed over.” Donnie smiled softly at her, “the pleasure is all mine. Maybe, if you’re feeling better anytime this weekend, you would want to hang out back in the lab again?” Nodding at that, she slowly walked over with him to the portal, Kira agreed enthusiastically, “I would love to.” Nodding in agreement, Donnie turned to walk through the portal, but paused a bit before turning back around to face Kira. Tilting her head, before she could say anything, Donnie got a bit closer and bent down a bit from where Kira stood and gently kissed her forehead for a minute before pulling away from her. “See you later Kira.” With that, he smirked at her shocked red face and went through the portal while it closed and disappeared before her eyes. Sitting back down on her couch, still taken aback by what he did, Kira lightly touched her forehead, feeling the linger of his lips on her forehead. Then suddenly, a small memory popped into her head of last night, making her face grow even more warmer than it already was. Smiling to herself, grabbing both her phone and remote, hoping to see how the girls were feeling today.
‘So it wasn’t a dream
 he actually did it.’
Looking back at the blanket next to her, Kira grabbed a hold onto it before letting it sit on her lap just a bit longer, sinking in what her drunken self had given him. A feeling of hope had sprung onto Kira, while going to put the blanket back in her ottoman, keeping it close to her heart. One thought came through her mind, before settling down to watch some tv and sleep happily on the couch.
‘Is this a sign? To go for it? He took really good care of it mom
 Maybe it’s time now. No more running.’

PART 1 OF 2
~~~
last night marc ended up falling asleep before you did, which ended up in you gently pushing him down and laying on top of him to sleep yourself.
khonshu sat on the top edge of the couch the whole night, watching over you both.
both of you woke up around the same time, which was good since you had to get to work anyways and you know they would freak out if you were gone when they woke up.
so on your way to work, the crows followed you, and one even dropped another bottle cap on you.
you stuck it in your pocket and waved to the bird of course, before it flew away.
work was fast, and you were already back home, at 5 on the dot.
you sent a text to the guys phone saying you wanted a half hour to get yourself cleaned up after your long day, to which they obviously said that was fine.
so you did; you were now fresh and showered, hair still a bit wet while you gather some of your belongings and go back to your dads’ place in your comfortable clothes.
“feel better?” steven asks you from the mirror by the door as soon as you walk in.
“mhmm” you trail off, seeing that marc was staring at you from the couch, which made you get nervous for some reason.
“we are patrolling tonight” he starts and you nod, thinking back to when he said you could go with them.
“..and?” you gesture for him to continue.
he sighs and nods to himself. “and if you want to come with us, you can” he ends the sentence quietly, as you begin to buzz in excitement.
“you meant it?” you ask excitedly.
marc smiles and nods. “of course i meant it, it was a promise” he answers and you move over and around the couch to pull him up and hug him tightly.
marc hugs back until you decide to let go, looking up at him with a smile.
“when are we-“
“in like five minutes, so go back and get your suit”
“already done” you unzip your bag that you dropped by the door, revealing all the items for your suit.
“of course you carry it around with you” he says sarcastically, khonshu appearing and tilting his head at you.
“the little arachnid is coming too?” the tall bird asks, and you nod.
“yes! that means more windpipes can be broken!” he exclaims, making you snort.
“now i don’t know about that..” steven trails off, while you gather your suit in your hands and go to change in the bathroom.
you changed in record speed, leaving your goggles and mask in your pocket.
when you walked back out, marc already had the suit on, except for the mask.
marc, steven, jake, and khonshu all looked at your suit closely, never really seeing it up close before.
“and you designed that yourself?” steven asks and you nod, adjusting the gloves on your fingers.
“it’s not much, but it’s better than nothing” you say, and he hums.
“it’s very cute, good job” he tells you with a smile, and you fail to hide yours.
“yes, but it won’t protect you very well” khonshu tells you and walks so that he’s right behind you.
you’re confused when he presses the tip of the crescent on your back, and get even more confused when you feel like something is crawling up your shoulders.
marc looks at you and khonshu in shock when you all see the faded red and blue bandages wrapping around you, similar to marc and jakes suit.
the only thing different was the golden spider in the middle of your chest.
you look at you arms- legs- anything, since khonshu just decided to randomly give you a suit.
the pale red and blue bandages fit you perfectly, even over the baggy ‘suit’ you already had.
“this is amazing” you whisper to yourself, running your finger along the metal of the gold spider.
“oh my gosh you look so cool!” steven exclaims and you nod, holding your arms out.
“this is the best thing that could happen in my life” you say and turn to khonshu.
“i’ll get you some more stickers, thank you so much” you tell him and he nods.
“it is healing armor, so it will keep you safe” he added before disappearing again.
“oh thank god” you hear marc breath out as you turn to glare at him.
“i’m not that reckless” you complain and he chuckles.
“okay- fine, let’s go” he nods to the window, as the mask envelopes his face, yours doing the same.
the mask khonshu decided to give you had golden spider like eyes, two big ones where your actual eyes were, and six little ones, one set above and two below the big ones.
plus the cool this is that when you squinted your eyes, the ones on the mask did too.
“nice” you murmur to yourself, loving the mask as you look at yourself in the mirror before following marc out of the window.
he just jumped up and landed on the roof, while you had to maneuver yourself out onto the wall to climb up.
marc was already walking around on the edge of the roof, you following like a lost puppy.
“what exactly do you do when you’re patrolling?” you ask, walking beside him on the roof.
him being on the ledge meant that he was even taller than you than he was before, so you actually had to look all the way up to see him.
“just wait” he says bluntly and you groan quietly.
even though it was a bit muffled due to the mask, he still heard it.
“calm down, we’ll find something” jake tells you and you nod while looking at the stars up in the sky that are slowly making appearances as time goes on.
you feel ringing in your ears all of a sudden, making you stop and close your eyes, the golden parts on the mask closing too.
marc notices this, and stops as well. “what is it?” he asks, hopping off the ledge to stand right by you.
“it’s coming from a couple blocks down- the gas station” you inform him, the ringing going away.
you’re so happy you accepted peters help, otherwise your senses wouldn’t be able to tell you exactly what was happening.
“good, then let’s go” was the last thing marc said to you before running off and basically flying a few blocks down.
luckily there were tall light posts, so you could swing there after him.
you two ended up peaking over another ledge of a roof, seeing two people trying to break into the closed gas station.
“we have to make a plan” marc tells you but you just keep staring.
you look at marc for a split second and nod quickly, waiting until he looks away from you to make your move.
would marc get mad at you?
probably.
will it be worth it to prove that you can handle yourself?
also probably.
so once marc looked away, you hoped steven and jake wouldn’t rat you out as you jumped off the roof and onto the wall, sticking to it before swinging over to the gas station.
you do hear someone rushing after you though. that being marc obviously.
you approach the two people who keep failing at breaking open the door.
you shoot a web out at each of them as marc gently shoves you behind him, making you lose your focus and making your webs land beside the people instead of on them.
“hey- what the hell?” you exclaim, marc taking care of both the bad people.
“stay back” he points at you. “you can try again at the next one” he tells you, taking care of the guys himself, you glaring while your arms are crossed.
“i had them!” you exclaim at him once he’s done, and walking back towards the alleyway across the street.
“no you didn’t, you didn’t listen to me when i said we needed a plan” he says sternly, pulling you along by your forearm.
“but i-“
“zip it”
“marc, be nice she’s trying her best” steven argues.
“her best could get her killed”
“she has healing armor now, idiot” jake cuts in, you just listening while following marc along while he makes sure you’re with him by holding onto your arm.
“yeah, marc i had it” you say kind of sadly, making him sigh.
“i know, i’m just nervous” he starts. “i can’t see you hurt again” he tells you and you scoff.
“i was caught off guard last time” you say offendedly.
“you were kidnapped, y/n”
the conversation died there, not having anything else to say.
you two did find someone trying to break into a car, which resulted in you almost being shot by the man before jake fronted and beat the shit out of him before marc came back.
you did get a few good hits in, but so did the man and you could already feel a bruise forming on your cheek and shoulder.
marc basically pushed you through the window when you guys got back home, the armor khonshu gave you fading off at the same time marc’s does.
“what did i say the first time?” marc asks you, waiting for you to answer.
your back was turned to him, as you sigh. “you said to wait for a plan” you mumble and marc nods.
“and you didn’t do that, you just jumped right in and played hero again”
“successfully” you mumble.
“yes but that’s not the point” marc starts, but is interrupted by steven.
“how about we all calm down a bit, yeah?” he states nervously.
“do you not care?” marc asks steven and he immediately denies his claim.
“i do care! i just understand y/ns reasoning” he responds and you sigh, rubbing your eyes.
“you obviously don’t-“
“he does, puta.” jake starts. “the bird gave her healing armor, so even if she did get shot she would be fine”
“how can you say that so calmly?” marc exclaims, while you watch the three argue with wide eyes, standing with your hands in your pockets.
“because she knows what she’s doing” jake defends you, and you sigh, finally speaking up.
“if you hadn’t pushed me out of the way i could’ve handled it” you say, and marc gives you a look.
“you just worry me” marc starts. “it’s just-“
“you don’t think i’m strong enough, i get it” you cut him off, turning around and taking off your short sleeve shirt, leaving you in the thin hoodie.
“no that’s not what i’m saying” marc follows you as you walk around the counter and into the kitchen to get an ice pack from the freezer.
since you finally bought them one for a five month anniversary gift.
“it is what you’re saying, i know how you feel about me going out and fighting crime” you say quietly, holding the ice pack to your face.
marc doesn’t say anything, his demeanor just changes, and a more relaxed figure takes over.
“he’s sorry, love” steven tells you and you nod.
“i uh.. i understand why he’s worried” you begin, steven nodding.
“i’m no hero” you take a breath. “anyone could’ve been bit by the spider, and it just happened to be me”
“i just.. i didn’t want to waste an opportunity like this. i want to be someone” you stammer over your words.
steven sighs and cokes closer to you. “you already are someone”
“you just need to find out who” stevens position changes again, jake now present in front of you.
“both of these idiots are right” jake starts. “the bite doesn’t define who you are, you don’t need to let it stop you from doing this or that”
you nod, and jake pulls you into his side. “we don’t want you to feel bad about yourself, you’re our kid” he tells you softly and you chuckle breathily.
“thank you, papa” you bring your hand up to squeeze his arm, then moving to go into the bathroom.
“i’m going to change and-“
“and then you’re coming to bed, you need rest”
you snort and do as he said, sitting on the bed next to him once you’re done changing.
“is marc still mad at me?” you ask jake, noticing that steven and marc weren’t seen in the reflections, signaling that they were done interacting for the night.
“he’s not mad at you, princesa” he responds and you hum, letting jake push you down so that you’re laying beside him.
“but he sounded mad” you retort and jake sighs.
“he’s not mad at you” jake tells you.
“he’s just worried?” you guess and he nods.
you hum again as jake puts an arm around your shoulders, pulling you close to him.
“don’t worry about it, just get some sleep you’ll feel better in the morning” was the last thing jake said before you fell asleep.
but what you didn’t know, was that you wouldn’t feel better in the morning.
it was the exact opposite.
let’s just say you won’t exactly feel like yourself.
Humans are Weird: Antibiotics
A story prompt from a user on a03. Apparently, this is my 50th short story, or at least the 50th installment of m humans are weird short stories. Hurray!
****
Ni Andu watched a dried sickle leaf roll across the empty courtyard from her window. A deep sigh made her breath fog up the glass. The courtyard wasn't supposed to be empty. Especially not this time of year. The Gauru Ni Moon Festival usually brought visitors from around the world and across multiple star systems right about now. But the disease meant no bright banners were hung. No music echoed cheerily through around the corners and down the streets. There were no wafting scents of fresh fruits and fried breads.
It was amazing and terrifying that something so small that it couldn’t be seen had done all this. The Ni were a proud race, rich in culture, and until now, seemingly sturdy in constitution. Diseases had come and gone in the past, but in such small and freak cases that they were hardly given much attention. It was assumed that Ni immune systems were the best in the galaxy and many other races had even requested to study how they were so effective.
Those prideful memories felt hollow now as Ni Andu sighed and pulled herself away from the dreary sight outside. As a new and reluctant head of the house, she had more pressing things to deal with than moping in the past. Several members of her own family were still sick, two of her hatch mates had been very touch-and-go as of late. She slowly made her way to the cushions where they were sleeping to check on them. To her relief, she saw the soft blankets they were wrapped in rose and fell slowly. She stood there, watching them for a bit in the gathering darkness of their shared humble abode. Matki’s breathing sounded like gravel stuck in a child’s rolling skiffer.
“What are we going to do?” Andu’s wide nose scrunched up as she begged the silent house. “What am I supposed to do next?”
She wasn’t sure how long she stood there trying to think of everything and nothing all at once. It was a good while though and was only interrupted when a small light turned on in the meal room. Andu looked up at the light streaming out of the door’s archway. With a sigh, she gathered her strength to move again to see who was up. As she approached, she heard small claws scrabbling on the stonework floor and storage pods opening and closing.
Sure enough, when she peeked in, Andu could see little Piri shuffling through food storage pods that looked even less stocked than she thought they’d been. There were a few bottled foods, a few containers of ingredient-prepped soup containers, but certainly nothing immediately ready for consumption. Most easy and ready-to-eat foods had been eaten long ago or destroyed when they began to decay and grow dangerous molds. And to a small three-year-old Ni, that basically meant there was no food at all.
“Hey Piri, are you hungry?” Even though Andu had kept her voice quiet, little Piri still jumped and tucked his small thin tail like he was ashamed he’d been caught. Andu smiled comfortingly and stepped into the room to pick up one of the soup packs.
“It’s okay, you’re fine,” she patted him on the head softly, “I think it’s time for a meal too. I’m sure everyone else would agree once they wake up and smell the food.”
“There’s not much left,” Piri’s small voice was so sad and only made the words themselves feel sharper to Andu’s hearts. She tried to think of something she could say to make their situation seem less dire, but nothing came to mind. Instead, she scooped up Piri’s small form and waited until his thin arms latched securely around her scruff before she walked over to get a pot to cook in. She was going to have to add quite a bit of water to this if it was going to make enough to sustain everyone for a meal.
Cooking, even making something simple, helped ease Andu’s mind. There was a sense of normalcy in standing in front of a firebox and stirring a bubbling pot of soup. She tried to ignore how thin it was. Still, the smell made her feel warm and it must have wafted across the house as she could soon hear the tell-tale signs of her hatch mates waking up. She gathered bowls and filled each one. Lowering Piri back down, she handed the young Ni a bowl and carried the rest to the cushions where the rest of the family was slowly waking up.
They ate together slowly, trying to make the contents of their bowl last and talking quietly about anything they could to distract themselves from their situation. Matki was recalling a story from four lunar years ago when Andu had entered a fried bread pastry into a competition. Between Matki’s coughing and Andu interjecting to defend herself, the story kept getting interrupted! She’d worked on the recipe for her pastry for so long and was so proud of it, but the night before, something went wrong when she was making her entry. Whether it was nerves, exhaustion, oversight, or Jentala above forbid, sabotage, it went very wrong. From the way Matki described the judges’ reaction, one might have thought Andu had purposefully tried poisoning them! As everyone chuckled, Matki claimed he still had the video recording from the competition and pulled it out, much to Andu’s chagrin.
Andu pretended to be exasperated by the teasing, but really she was just glad everyone felt good enough to laugh again.
It took a while before she and the others noticed that Matki hadn’t pulled up the video. Instead, his eyes locked on the comm tablet screen.
“Matki?”
“Hey, did you find it?”
“Matki are you okay?”
Matki finally looked up, eyes still wide from whatever he’d been looking at. “They’re coming to help.”
Everyone shared a worried look. What?
“Who are you talking about? Who’s coming?” Andu broke the confused silence.
Matki tapped something on-screen with the pad of a finger and a holographic projection display rose up.
Everyone watched enraptured by the newscast. It was about humans. From halfway across the galaxy, they’d heard about the Ni’s plight and had come claiming they had a cure. They were offering aid and resources to run tests to make sure their medicine was safe and effective for Ni use and make alterations if needed. They were even claiming they’d help distribute the finalized cure the moment it was given the go-ahead. In the meantime, they were also sending ships of food and supplies.
Andu could feel the back of her throat tighten. Was this real? Did she dare hope? There’d been so many reports before about help being promised, well, not help to this extent, but help nonetheless. They’d ended up being just for show and were proven empty once those who offered realized how impossible the situation really was.
But humans? She’d heard they were tough. And stubborn. Maybe they were stubborn enough to see their promises through?
The embarrassing video of Andu’s failed pastry was long forgotten, the conversation instead jumped between wild rumors her family had overheard about humans and speculation about how long it would take for the humans to actually lend aid if they were really coming at all. Andu could see a shimmer in the eyes of her hatch mates as they spoke that she hadn’t seen in a while. Although she wished she could feel the same optimism, she could also see how quickly they were all tiring out. Although they’d slept most of the day, the disease was still taking its toll on them all.
Once the meager meal was finished, she stood to gather the now empty bowls. She noticed Piri quickly scrape a finger along the side of his bowl to snag any last morsel before she came along to collect it. ‘Jentala above,’ she prayed mentally, ‘if help truly is coming, send it along soon.”
With bellies no longer completely empty, everyone settled in, and soon the room was full of sleeping or near sleeping Ni.
Andu slept fitfully. She dreamed, but it was fractured and confusing. Even before the disease came, she had a hard time remembering her dreams once she woke up. It was near impossible now. She did remember a loud humming noise though. As she blinked her eyes and lifted her head, she realized the humming was still there. She rose and searched for the source. It almost sounded like
 engines? But that, that had to be impossible - the quarantine
She looked out the window. Dried sickle leaves were flying around wildly as a large shuttle slowly came in for a landing in the courtyard. Andu opened her mouth to call out to the rest of her family, but nothing would come. How were they still asleep with this racket? Apparently, it managed to wake up Piri, who nearly made Andu jump when he bumped into her side while trying to climb up for a better view out the window.
“What’s going on? Who’s outside?” Piri waited to ask until Andu had resettled herself after being startled.
“I’m not sure yet,” she answered as they both watched the shuttle’s doors slowly work through the unsealing process. Across the courtyard, she could see other Ni’s faces peeking out their windows. As far as she could tell, expressions seemed to range anywhere from fear to curiosity to
 was that hope? Wait, had they seen the newscast last night? Did they think this was
 there’s no way the humans could be here already, right?
They both watched intently as the doors finally opened and a ramp extended. Soon a line of creatures she’d only seen on screens filed down wearing yellow vests and hauling huge boxes in their arms or on carts they pulled behind them.
“It is the humans!” Piri yelled and jumped down from his perch. He ran to where everyone was stirring on the cushions, “Wake up! Wake up! The humans are here!”
Andu wasn’t sure if she should reprimand Piri for disturbing them, or if she should join in. Instead, she watched as the humans in the courtyard started setting up stations and continued hauling load after load filled with what must have been hexaheebs of food, clean water, and various supplies.
She turned to look back at her family who were trying to rise as fast as their weakened bodies would allow. Matki began coughing violently and had to rest against the wall. Andu went to help support him when a knock at the front door startled everyone. They all stared at the old chirrowood door, then around at each other. It had been so long since quarantine had started, they’d almost forgotten what a knock on the door sounded like.
After a pause, the knock came again, this time followed by a worried and drawn-out, “Hello?”
Once she was sure Matki was standing stable, Andu, being the least sick among everyone, walked to and slowly opened the door.
A human from the shuttle stood in the doorway. They were wearing a mask over their mouth and nose, but it was definitely a human! Their eyes closed slightly and creased in the corners as they nodded a greeting. “Hi, my name is Ali, I’m part of the relief team that’s been assigned to this district. We’ve got food and essentials to distribute and I just need to know how many are in this household and if anyone here is in critical condition.”
Andu blinked at the human for a moment as she took in what they’d said.
“We, uh, we have four adults and one child. There, there were more, but
” she couldn’t finish that sentence. From the look the human gave her, she didn’t need to finish it. Her sinuses stung as she fought to not cry. The first visitor in how long and here she was almost crying in the doorway?
“I'm so sorry for your loss,” the human’s head bowed and their shoulders dropped. “I wish we’d known and could have helped earlier. Is anyone here in need of immediate emergency care?”
At that point, Matki started coughing again. Andu and Ali looked back to see him sit back down until his coughing died down.
Andu sighed and turned back to the human. “None of us are great right now. Matki’s probably the worst out of all of us. He sounds bad, but he actually has started to stabilize in the past few days.”
Human Ali gave a short nod and started writing something on a tablet in his hands.
“Do you,” Andu’s voice trembled, “we heard a report last night about you. That you were coming. That you
 do you
” she swallowed and fought back desperate tears, “do you really have a cure?”
The human’s eyes creased again. “We do.”
Andu didn’t need to turn around to know the effect this had on her family. She heard it. She felt it. This time, she didn’t fight back the tears.
“Right now,” Human Ali continued, “it’s in the final stages of approval for Ni use, we’re just waiting for the ‘go-ahead’ and we’ll help distribute it as soon as it arrives. Until then, I’ve got some food and supplies for you. I can help unload and unpack if you need?”
“That
 that would be... thank you,” she wiped at her tears. “Thank you so much.”
Over the next few days, more shuttles came and went, bringing more supplies, food, tools, and just in general, a brighter outlook and mood to the entire neighborhood. The humans really were here to help, and they seemed happy to do so. Not only were they good with their promises of aid, but they also delivered on the cure they said they had. Ni were instructed on the drug’s use and administration directions thoroughly for both the tablet and liquid forms of the cure. The effects were quick, and from the reports on the newscast, overwhelmingly positive. The Ni were cured! The plague that had once threatened to wipe out their entire population was gone! Celebrations larger than even the Gauru Ni Moon Festival were planned, songs were written, stories shared and spread. It was wholly agreed by all that this was a historic time in Ni history that they all survived through, and all thanked Jentala above for sending the humans to help.
It went without saying that everyone wanted to know more about the cure itself. And that meant everyone, not just the Ni, but the rest of the galactic community who before, had written the Ni off as a lost cause because of the horrific disease. What was this miracle cure? What other things could it do? Where, by all that is bright and shining, did the humans get it, and could it be easily replicated?
The humans, for their part, were again as open and gracious with their information as they had been with their aid. It was an old medicine they’d discovered long ago on their planet. Considered to be the first “antibiotic,” it was widely used on Earth and had saved millions of lives since its discovery. It worked by interfering with bacteria cell walls and destroyed them by causing them to burst.
It was called
Penicillin.
“Amazing!” “Spectacular!” “So simple, yet so ingenious!” many in the galactic community praised. “How ever did you discover this amazing drug?”
The initial answer wasn’t too surprising, for humans at least: it was an accident.
Andu almost snorted as she read the report to the rest of her family. Granted, the end of the plague was the first time any of them had come in direct contact with humans, but they all had heard many of the stories about human escapades. Wild experiments that on paper seemed more like a drunken brainstorm party that ended up advancing rocket fuel technology by at least 8 lunar years. Crash-landings on category 3 death worlds and they ended up liking them so much they decided to set up colonies. Half of what they did seemed to be mistakes that just went right for them. Apparently, the miracle drug penicillin was included in those stories.
She looked up its history and manufacturing.
Andu felt claws dance down her back as she read more. It came
 from mold? Mold?! She looked up from the tablet to the faces of her equally horrified hatch mates. It took them a moment to remember how to close their mouths.
"You mean like mold on old bread?" Piri broke the shocked silence.
Andu blinked and looked back at the report. Old bread? How many times had they not eaten bread fast enough in the warm humid seasons only to pick up a bul of bread and find mold growing on it. It was dangerous, it had to be carefully disposed of, it was
 able to save lives?
She returned to the report. The more she read, the more comforted she became in the safety of the miracle antibiotic. That, and she couldn't argue with the results. Her family was around her, now loudly being altogether boisterous together as they "discussed" the humans and all the ways they played with death in order to save life.
Matki snatched the tablet from her claws, wanting to read the report for himself. As Andu was jostled by her now healthy, energetic family, she was just happy and eternally thankful that the humans were crazy enough to play with something as dangerous as fungus, and then kind enough to share what they discovered.
Hi!
So I was feeling bored and I just recently got to finish the new Guardians of the Galaxy game (which I flarkin’ adored!), and me being the naive sap, I love writing Rocket x Kid! Reader stuff!
So since I’m in the Guardian mood, I decided to whip up some !Daughter Reader headcanons to Rocket Raccoon! Enjoy!
Also please feel free to request more Rocket x Kid! Reader stuff from me! I freaking love writing this and there needs to be more of it on here!
Want to send in a request? Start here!
Tumblr media
Being Rocket Raccoon’s Daughter
Rocket found you on Knowhere, when you were about seven years old, where this one guy held you by the arm roughly, bruising it as hot angry tears rolled down your face
Rocket already had a thing about people beating up kids, but when he called you a thief, and saw what you had that was stolen, it was official, he was pissed.
You were holding a damn piece of bread, clutching it harshly as he continued his torment on you.
He ran on all fours and continued to scratch the hell out of the guys face, him letting you go and falling to the ground harshly, that is until Groot picked you up gently and put you back on your feet, all him saying is; “I am Groot.”
After Rocket was done, he turned to you and asked if you had any parents near by, once you said no, that’s pretty much set it in stone.
“Alright, come on, Kiddo. I ain’t leaving you here with these scumbags.”
And just like that, the raccoon adopted you, even though he had no idea raising a child.
The one thing he did know, was that he was going to raise you right, and not give you the life he had when he was growing up.
He let you sit up with him in the bridge when he piloted his ship. Hearing your squeals of excitement being enough for him to start smiling.
He would tell you which buttons would be okay to push, and which ones wouldn’t.
If you had nightmares, you would climb out of bed with a throw blanket wrapped around you and would walk over to Rocket, where he would be piloting the ship, and he would hear your little tiny foot steps with a flick of an ear.
“Hey, What’s wrong, kiddo?” He would ask softly.
You would ask him if it’s okay if you could sit with him, and he would do it, no questions asked.
He would soon start to realize that you were slowly falling asleep again, and he would finally put two and two together.
He’d put the ship on auto pilot and drag you back to bed, but not without him tucking you back in and at least combing his claws through your hair as softly as he could. Lulling you back to sleep.
He had no idea who or what the flark gave you nightmares, but he’d be damned if he would let them take over your actual sleep schedule.
Even when you three joined up with the guardians, nothing changed.
He was still very protective of you, especially from the others (other than Groot.)
Anytime that you had nightmares, he still went to your room and lulled you to sleep.
The only difference was that he closed your room door and locked it until he was done/you were asleep
If you ever, ever got sick, Rocket would be freaking the flark out.
Luckily, Peter is with him, and the first ever cold you got was when you three joined up with the guardians
He had to reassure Rocket that you were not dying, and it would pass in a few days
“Quill, look at her, she’s really pale-“
“Rocket, I promise. It’s gonna pass, we gave her medicine and she was able to hold it down so calm down-“
And it did not help when you woke up coughing and asking what’s going on
“(Y/N) DONT YOU DARE DIE ON ME!”
“OH MY GOD, IM DYING?!”
“ROCKET NO-“
Needless to say, Rocket was always kept away from you when you’re sick after that incident, you kept sobbing and telling him you didn’t want to die, which made him form into an almost crying mess which would have taken hours to fix
In the end, Rocket really cares about you, and even though he doesn’t say it much, he does love you. ❀
Oikawa
He was at it again. Working late nights and shit. You were happy for him. You were. Of course you were. He was back doing what he loved. He was back playing volleyball. With that happiness also came fear and worry. You knew how he was. Everyone who ever met him, knew how he was. He over worked himself. He always did and scared you. No matter how hard he tried not to. He pushed himself past his limits. Even after the doctor already told him, if he didn’t ease up on the practice, his knee would get even worse. But he was Oikawa Tƍru. Determined and intelligent.
It was ten thirty and he already missed your date. Which you expected to happen, but it still kind of hurt. You tried calling for the fifth time that night, but you were met with the same thing. After a few rings it went to voicemail.
“Hey! You’ve reached the voicemail of Oikawa Tƍru, thank you for calling! At the moment I’m busy but I promise after I’m done I’ll call you back. If you want, leave me a message and I’ll get back to you. Byeee!”
You waited all night for him to come home around twelve thirty. He looked tired. Extremely tired and to be honest that pissed you off more. Not only did he not respond but he over worked himself again, and when he woke up the next night sore, you were the one who would have to take care of him.
Instead of bringing it up you waited for the morning. Not wanting to have this conversation while he was tired. It would feel like you were talking to yourself, and he wouldn’t understand. So you went to bed with him and by the morning he was already up before you.
You went to the kitchen to find him shuffling through your medication bin. “Are you sore?” You ask, looking at him.
“I’ll be fine, I just need breakfast and some medicine,” he muttered. He couldn’t have cared less. At least that’s what it looked like. He didn’t even spare you a glance.
“Maybe you should listen. You know, lay off volleyball practice for a day or something. Try to lesson the hours and stuff..” You looked back at him for his reaction.
“Can’t. If I ease up I’ll never be able to catch up.” He finally looked to you now, finding the medicine.
“I mean I think you will be fine. It is taking over your whole life and stuff so I just don’t want it to be a bigger issue. Like you know.. with your knees and stuff.” Your eyes are pinned on him.
“I told you not to worry about my knee, and it’s not taking up my life okay? It has and will always be my life. It’s the only thing I’m good at. So no, I'm not going to take a break.” He snapped at you. Which caught you off guard.
“It is
 It is taking up your life,” you replied which made his face change.
“You don’t understand how it is like me. You don’t! I understand you don’t have anything you're good at and shit. But you have to understand that I actually have goals in life okay? You have to understand that my fucking life won’t revolve around you and how you feel when I do something. It won’t and never will. You and I are together because I feel like having you around. Because you know what, volleyball is the only thing that distracts me from leaving. Volleyball is the only thing I can do to escape you!” He screamed.
It takes a few seconds for the weight of his words to sink into your skin. But here’s the thing. You knew what you were up against when you started dating him. He just lit a fuse in you. A spark that made an explosion of feelings hit you. When it did you couldn’t control your words. “After all that practice I wondered why you never made it to nationals. I mean seriously. You need a distraction from me, right? Your always doing it, and get you can’t even fucking get to nationals. Not only that but I can see why your last girlfriend left you. You're a dick. You can’t remember a fucking date. A fucking date we have been planning for weeks. Oh wait, let me correct that, a date I’ve been planning for weeks. Not only that but I took my fucking time to work around your schedule. For you not to even send a message.” You spat out. You looked down at him, “I wonder sometimes if everyone was right. You and me. Never belonged. I’m just a distraction from such a ‘handsome’ and ‘kind’ person.”
He looked hurt at first, but then again he started it and intended to finish it. “I can see why your whole family doesn’t talk to you. You always think you're the best or something. Maybe I remembered the date. Have you ever thought of that? Maybe I didn’t wanna hangout with you. Maybe I didn’t want to hear you nagging me every fucking second. You know what? I can see why people fucking hate you. Bully you and shit. Your such a fucking selfish freak.”
“What..?” You looked at him. You told him you were bullied, because you thought of him as your safe space. You thought of him as the only person who understood you. You felt safe when he was around you. You felt understood. To use that against you. To say you deserved it. To say you deserved to get hurt. To get shamed. To get everything that happened to you
 it was your fault?
“What are you too dumb to understand?” He laughed at you. Hatred and venom spilling from his lips. “Awe.. look at the baby. You should be grateful I didn't break up with you. You should be thankful because I’m the only reason you're even someone.”
Tears filled your eyes. “God fucking damn it.” You muttered softly. You weren’t going to allow him to take you down. You were stronger then he would ever understand. “You really think anyone wants to hang out with you..? Do you fucking think anyone find you a good person..? Your just a fucking pretty face, okay? Your nothing compared to anyone else on your team. You might not realize it but to be honest sometimes I do want to be set free. Set free from this shitty relationship okay? That’s the truth. Sometimes I get sick of having to take care of you. When your fucking sore before you over works your self again. I am the only one trying to keep you okay. I’m the only one who actually thinks about the long run. No matter how hard you practice in the end you won’t even be able to walk. Let alone play volleyball and shit. You know what sometimes I get sick of being the only fucking one trying to keep us together.”
“Then maybe you should give up okay. Maybe we should finally go our separate ways. I mean after all, you're too easy.” He was hurt. He just blurted out whatever he thought would hurt you the most. Which fucking worked. Before you had said anything more he had left the room, leaving you stunned.
It took a moment but before you knew it you were out of the house, crying and walking the farthest away from your shared house as you could. “Fuck..” you whisper. Did he really not want to be with you..? You should have known. This relationship wasn’t a relationship. You barely talked. You felt alone. So fucking alone.
It took an hour for him to fully cool down. When he walked out of the room he was expecting you to be waiting for him. He was expecting everything to be okay. When he was met with the emptiness. The emptiness of you being actually gone. He was met with the realization that his words were taken just how he thought he wanted them to be.
You on the other hand we’re at the park blasting music in your ears. Forcing the thoughts to be pushed deep down. Forcing you to forget everything. Everything that hurts you. Maybe it would be best if you guys did go your separate ways..? You knew this wasn’t good for your mental health. But fuck that. This was the only thing that made you feel grounded. Made you feel okay. When he wasn’t with you or practicing he was out with friends, drinking and partying. You couldn’t continue to live like this. So maybe it would be best to let go. To give up on everything and everything you loved
 your everything was him. You always argued and at this point you felt sick. Thinking about it just broke you. You had no more tears to cry, with your tear stained cheeks you decided to go back. To your home. It was over. Everything you had built up was coming crashing down.
On his side he was freaking out. He knew he was in the wrong. He knew there was no excuse for what he did to you, but what could he say? You were gone already. It took a bit for him to get to the nerve to call you. To his surprise he heard the sound of your ringing phone. So you left it. Maybe you were going to come back. Maybe you will and then everything will be okay again. Maybe everything would be perfect. It was a small chance but that's all he could hold on to.
When you walked in it was quiet, but there were soft whimpers and cries coming from your shared room. Gently you knocked on the door and waited for a response. You were surprised when you immediately heard a stumble and then were met with a hug. Your shoulder almost immediately feels wet to the touch. “Ba.. Oikawa..?” You muttered.
“Please don’t call me that.. please..” He muttered softly. His face buried deep into your clothes.
You kinda ignored his response. “I came back to get my stuff. I took into consideration what you said and I realized that you don’t deserve to be distracted by me all the time..” You whispered softly. “So like you said earlier.. I think it is best if we stop seeing each other.. entirely because I don’t know if I could let you go otherwise..”
His arms tightened around you, “C..can we please talk about it first.. please..” his nightmare was coming true, and maybe it was dumb but he didn’t realize how much he needed you.
“There’s nothing to talk about.. I don’t understand why you want to make it harder on me. I gave you what you wanted okay..? You can practice your heart out and hangout with your friends and stuff okay? You can finally find someone who will fit all your needs. You and I both know that I will never be what you want. So maybe it would be best if we just let go..”
“No
 please no.. that’s not what I want.. I want to make it up to you and be there for you and I want to make you happy and I want everything to be perfect. I know I messed up okay? I don’t deserve you and I don’t know what came over me today because you're everything I’ve ever wanted. I know I don’t deserve it and there’s no excuse for what I said or did
 I know I should let you find someone better but I love you. I love you so fucking much. I know I’ve been lacking and I want to make up for it. I want to be someone you want to be around again.. I love you so fucking much okay? I should have been there. I shouldn’t have said the things I did. I know I don’t deserve a second chance but please.. just one more.. I promise I’ll make it up to you.” He didn’t want to let go of everything.
“I’m sorry too.. you didn’t deserve it. I’m sorry for everything and that’s why I want to let you go. To find someone who will not hurt you like I hurt you.. You and I both know that I can't resist it. I don’t know why you do this to me.. pull me back.. you have one more chance
 Please don’t make me regret it. I really love you but this.. this isn’t going to work if we do what we are doing now okay? We will just tear each other more and more apart..” you whispered gently, kissing his head. Your arms finally meet his back as you hold him. “I’m sorry.. but I’ve got you now baby. I love you so fucking much..”
Kyoutani
Kyoutani was the type of person most people would never understand. Not because they were “difficult” or anything.. they just never took the time too. Well other than you. You were different. You understood his outburst and such. But at the same time you were human. There was only so much you could take. There was only so much you would take.
When he came into the locker room you were already waiting for him. He had been thrown out of the game for fighting with a few people. You knew he was frustrated. You could hear the crowd from a mile away shouting to kick him off. It was harsh. Even for ‘mad dog’ which he hated to be called. He hated to be tied to an animal.. and always being an angry reck. Anybody would. But of course nobody understood other than you. When he sat on the bench you immediately rushed over.
“Baby.. I’m sorry.. You didn’t deserve that.. just ignore them, please. I know it’s hard but their not important okay..?” You we’re just trying to comfort him. But there were times when Kyoutani couldn’t control himself. Like any other person when they get looked down at every fucking moment of their lives. When they are ridiculed and laughed at all the time. When they are nothing more than an angry person.. Sometimes there is nothing more to do than be the person everyone so desperately makes you out to be.
“Not important? Not important! I just got fucking kicked from the game because of them chanting to kick me. They didn’t even fucking have the decency to call me by my name. So don’t tell me it’s okay and that their opinion on me doesn’t matter. Because quite frankly their opinion is the only one that matters it seems.” He lashed out.
“I didn’t mean to upset you. It’s just that.. it wasn’t entirely their fault. You were arguing with the other team members.” You muttered. It wasn’t meant to do any harm, just for him to keep in mind.
“Are you serious right now.? Nobody else got kicked. Nobody. If they can’t handle a little trash talking, maybe they shouldn’t play a sport. I mean seriously there’s no need for them to tell the referees to kick me.” He started raising his voice when he spoke.
“I know it’s just that.. maybe you should try and not trash talk you know?” You whispered softly, retreating a bit.
“What?” He looked annoyed. “God ducking damn it. How can you be so cute but so fucking annoying. I mean seriously how can someone with such a face be so fucking dumb and so annoying?” His hands were balled into fist
“I..I don’t understand, can you tell me why you act so sweet..? Then so cold the next moment..? You don’t mean it right..? Please say you don’t mean it.” You were worried you loved him but god it was hard. It was hard to respond when your friends asked about your relationship. It was hard when they flaunted their perfect relationship and then asked about yours. Its was so fucking hard.
“Do you think I would say it otherwise..?” He looked at you. He laughed at you as he saw your pitiful expression. God it was almost sickening how much he saw that expression. That expression that nobody else had ever shown him. The one of worry  but at the same time already knowing it was coming. He loved it. He loved everything about you. But most of the time you pissed him off. This relationship wasn’t healthy. But for god sake you already started counseling. But fuck this was a bad idea.
Silence. Nothing could come out. You wanted to scream. You wanted to forget this. You wanted it to stop. Everything to stop.
“Answer me.” He punched the wall next to you. Fear spreading all over your face. Fuck. Fuck. Not here. Please no. He gripped your warm face making it so cold in seconds. Forcing you to look at him he laughed at your crying face. But when you didn’t stop for a minute he immediately backed away. He fucked up. He knew he fucked up. “Wait I’m sorry baby..” he muttered.
“Please stop. Please. I won’t do it again.” Flashbacks we’re pulling you way too far out. You were drowning. No one was around to save you. He was laughing as you begged to be saved, pushing you deeper into your own pool of your own thoughts. You were so cold. The next second you were able to move back to the surface.
Realization hit as he stepped back. “I..I am sorry..” he muttered softly as he left the room without another word leaving his mouth. Words were banging on his lips but he knew if he spilled them out everything out it would just hurt you ten times more.
You got up five minutes later, finally pulled back to reality and decided to get up. Grabbing your stuff you walked back into the stadium. Waving a small wave to the rest of his team before exiting. Confusion was read all over as they saw your tear stained face. To be honest, all that was running through your mind was that you didn’t want Kyoutani to break up with you. You didn’t want to be alone, again. You didn’t want to be just another one of his ex’s. So for the better of both of you it would be best to leave him be. To let him cool off.. for him to feel better.
He was freaking out. He fucked up. You. You were his everything, not only that but you were more than just that. You were like a fucking rainbow at the end of a rainy day. You were his partner in crime. You made him feel normal, you made him feel safe, and loved. He couldn’t believe he just put that all in danger. He just put everything on the line because of some stupid game. He hit the wall hard, “fuck me. I’m sorry y/n..” he muttered as he sank to the floor and balled up. Tears burning through his eyes. He did the one thing he promised you that he would protect you from. You became the one thing he was always scared of becoming. He loved you so much, he love you so fucking much.
You left and got into your car. Sinking into your seat you locked the doors, and hit the steering wheel. Taking a deep breath salty tears rolled down your already stained face. Placing the key in and turning it the car started. Next thing you knew you had left wherever you could go. You loved him. So fucking much. But it was hard to be okay when he acted so fucking rough with you. It was hard to stay calm and not imagine your past relationship in this one. You tried. You really did but god it was hard to feel okay, feel okay about everything happening around you. It was too much. So fucking much. It made your head hurt.
When the game ended Kyoutani was still freaking out, now moved back into the lockers. He didn’t know what he was expecting but he knew he hoped you would still be there. God damn it. He fucked up. You had left. You were gone. Tears brimming his eyes as he teammates walked in. Now mentioning it to his teammates their faces seemed to change. More salty fucking tears left his eyes, as he heard about what type of pain you looked like you were in.
You headed back to your shared place. Unsure where else to go. You weren’t close with your family anymore. You had no friends. You had no work buddies. You had nobody but Kyoutani and in turn, now you were left alone with the thought of everything being gone. Ripped right out of your hands as you're forced to watch your whole world come crumbling down on you. You placed your stuff down on the side and laid on the bed. It smelled just like safety. Just like Kyoutani. You just wanted to be held. You just wanted everything to be perfect, again. To be okay at least. You needed him more than anything.
After a night out he finally made it back to your shared place. He didn’t want to be back without you, but you weren’t answering and he didn’t know what else to do. When he walked into the apartment he slowly walked into your shared room. There he saw you. Laying in bed cuddled up in the blankets. Slowly and carefully he walked up. Not wanting to cause you any more hurt. He missed you. Even for a few hours he had felt like he hadn’t seen you in years. But maybe that was because he thought that’s what might have happened. Maybe he thought you had left for good. Maybe he thought he would never have the chance to apologize. Never have the chance to hold you again. When he reached the bed he noticed that you were awake. “Hey y/n..” he muttered softly. The silence was killing him. “I’m so sorry. I know I fucked up. I promised to make you feel safe and protected around me. I made a promise to keep you safe and protected. I broke both of those. I fucked up. I know I did. I lashed out again. I did exactly what everyone says I do. I just get so fucking heated for no reason and I know I shouldn’t and I know I should just relax. But I feel like if I do the worlds would burn though my throat and then it would just explode.. and I know it’s stupid and I know I end up hurting you more. I know that there is no good reason to do that. But I just.. I don’t know. You're the only one that makes me feel normal okay..? I know it’s not fair. I know it’s not. You just make me feel like whenever I’m with you that I’m floating. I just want everything to be okay again. I want everything to be back to normal. I know I should give you space but I missed you so much. I don’t want you to leave, please don’t leave..” he was crying again. He barely had any tears left to cry. He wanted to hold you but he knew it was a stupid idea. “I’m sorry for being so selfish.. but please..”
You never really heard him or saw him crack. But fuck. It hurts you so much. To see him beg for you to stay with him. What were you supposed to do..? Leave him now? That was never even the plan. You didn’t have a plan to be honest. You sat up biting your lip before you gently held him. “Hey baby it will be okay.. calm down I’ve got you.. I’m not going anywhere now. I promise you I’m not going anywhere.” You muttered softly. He melted into your touch. He knew he didn’t deserve it but he felt like he couldn’t breathe. “Shush
 I’ve got you.. take a deep breath..” you mumbled softly kissing his head as he took deep breaths. Soon enough he was relaxed in your arms again. “You know and I know that I love you so much. But there’s a line between where I can take it and I can’t. I understand you get frustrated but I don’t deserve to be treated like that. I don’t deserve to be scared of being hit.. and I know we both know that. I try to be understanding but you need to try to be too okay..? I love you so much.. more than you might believe but Kyoutani I can’t handle being in a relationship with you if you're constantly annoyed or angry with me. I think we deserve to be happy.. and if that means needing to take a break then we would have to okay? You need to work on communicating. I know it can be hard.. but please..” you whispered. Tears flowing down your soft skin again. It was getting a lot. So it would be best if you told him
 you needed him to understand.
He gently shook his head. He understood. He knew he was in the wrong. He knew he was lucky for you to be holding him.. for him to even still be in a relationship with you let alone it be still a romantic one. He loved you and he knew you didn’t deserve anything that he put you through. In the end all that mattered was you in his eyes. He was going to change.. he was. “I promise.. thank you y/n..” he whispered softly. Gently he wrapped his arms around you. “I love you so much..” he muttered. Everything would be okay.. he knew it was going to be now. All that mattered was that you were safe. That you were happy.. that you were in his arms again.
Red Lipstick
one more - delayed - prompt for BINGO! I love writing about Hinny's kids, hope you like it too <3
AO3
--------------
'What are you doing down here, Albus?' Ginny asked, surprised when she saw him sitting alone on the living room sofa.
She had gone out for a few minutes to buy some medicine for Harry, who was ill, leaving James - aged 10 - in charge of keeping the whole house and everyone alive. It would be quick minutes, it didn't last more than twenty, but suddenly it felt like an eternity and from the look of Albus something had gone wrong.
'Nothing.' He got up from the couch, but his green eyes didn't lie, he looked scared.
'Where is your brother?' Ginny dusted Floo's shoulders off her shoulders, then headed for the stairs, but Albus stepped in front of her.
'He
hm
grandma called.'
'I'll call her later. Was it urgent?' She knew he was lying, because aside from his cheeks being extremely flushed and his eyes wide open, Molly was with George and Bill shopping at the mall, so she had no way of calling Ginny.
'Yes. She needs you to call now.” Albus despaired when Ginny didn't go downstairs and go to the fireplace, but continued up the stairs. 'Mum!'
"Albus, your dad really needs this medicine, please." She continued to walk, even though Albus tried to interfere with her steps. ‘What did you and your brothers do, huh? I'm starting to get more worried. Your dad is missing?’
"It was Lily!" Albus blurted, as she knew he would as soon as she pressed a little.
"What Lily did?" Ginny stopped when they reached the second floor, sighing and thinking that the girl was only six but already managing to be worse than ten-year-old James. Although she was learning a lot from him, so
"I told her you'd be mad and-" Albus jumped in front of her again, his small body coming to a stop in front of her and Harry's bedroom door, as if that would keep her from opening it. "You really don’t want to open that door."
'Whatever it is, I'm not going to fight with you, now let me see your dad and give him his medicine.' Ginny tried to open the door, but, she assumed, there were two kids sitting on the other side, making the work not so simple. "James, Lily, let me into the room."
"Promise you won't freak out," James said, his voice low probably so as not to wake Harry. Well, at least they were worried about their dad.
"I'm not going to freak out." Ginny wanted to laugh but remained serious, looking at Albus who now looked more terrified.
"Al, didn't I tell you not to let her up?!" Lily's bossy voice sounded louder, and soon a 'shhhh' from James was heard as well. 'Didn't I tell you not to let her up?' She whispered now.
"I couldn't," Albus whispered against the door, looking over his shoulder at his mother who still had her hand on the door. Ginny didn't believe this was happening.
"Get out of there or you might get hurt, I'll open the door." She warned, and this time the door opened easily, and her two kids were standing there, looking much more suspicious than Albus.
James was better at lying, he was older and had more time to learn from Teddy about how to do it, so his cheeks were less flushed and his eyes weren't as bulging. Lily, however, seemed to have been born with the gift, because she smiled docilely at her mother, clutching the hem of her dress as if she hadn't done anything wrong.
"What did you guys do?" Ginny looked at the two of them, and then looked at the bed at the end of the room, where Harry was still sleeping.
"Nothing." They both shrugged, and Albus rushed to stand beside them, letting Ginny into the room.
The three walked with her to the bed, all very suspicious, their hands behind their backs and their eyes locked on Ginny. The room was tidy - the best it could be with three kids in the house - and there was nothing broken except that a drawer in her dresser was ajar, but Ginny was pretty sure she hadn't opened before leaving the house... It was her makeup drawer, and she hadn't done makeup today.
When she got close to the bed, she had to choke down the laugh that rose in her throat, looking at a Harry who was now painted all over, with red lipstick, eye glitter, and much darker, thicker eyebrows now that they were painted with black pencil.
Jesus fucking Christ.” Harry was a mess of makeup and accessories on his head, the sheet he was covered with was also smeared with eyeshadow and lipstick, and what shocked the most was that he was still sleeping. Probably because of the sleeping potion she had given him before leaving.
She looked at her children, who were still at her side with their hands behind their backs, trying their best to look innocent.
"He woke up and did it himself," Lily shrugged.
"Yeah, it was scary." Albus nodded, his cheeks flushing even more.
'I think Dad is sleepwalking.' James said, and the other two nodded.
Ginny couldn't believe it, she wasn't even angry, just shocked. She wanted to laugh too.
"He's the one who's going to freak out when he wakes up," she warned them, taking the medicine out of her bag and laughing as she looked at her husband lying on the bed, looking like he'd dressed up as a clown. 'Get the camera, let's make this moment eternal.'
How would the brothers and undatables react to MC getting appendicitis? (Bonus points if the symptoms start shortly after eating Solomon’s cooking, so they don’t immediately realize how serious it is until the next day when everyone else is recovered but MC has only gotten worse)
Alright I’ve done my research on this, I think I can do it well and if not
 enjoy the HC’s of the brothers taking care of a sick MC đŸ€Ł
Brothers + Dateables Reaction to MC Getting Appendicitis
WARNING: Mentions of Vomit
—————————————
Lucifer
You’d mentioned you had stomach pains after you ate Solomon’s food beforehand so he didn’t think much of your pain since they were all in a lot of pain after eating it too
But after your symptoms didn’t stop and you continued to have dizzy spells and bad nausea, he knew something was wrong
He knew a few human illnesses so he checked you over, examining your stomach only to hear you cry out in pain when your appendix area was touched
Immediately knew what was wrong and went out to get you medication, deciding against going to the hospital and instead treating you with some of his special treating potions
Took care of you while you were ill, getting you whatever you needed and making sure you were comfortable
You got lots of affection from his soft side during this time and Solomon got a nasty scolding
Mammon
He already knew about your stomach pains since he was having them pretty bad too
But after a few days, yours didn’t stop, you continuously threw up and clutched your stomach and even he knew something was wrong
Went to Lucifer for help, clinging to you like you were on deaths door as you keeled over in pain
While you were recovering, he was the sole person who took care of you, feeding you your meds and making sure not to touch your stomach. He knew not to now as last time he did, you almost cried out in pain and he’s honestly traumatised
To say he was cuddly would be an understatement, he held your hand constantly and rarely slept just in case you woke up in agony
Was very overprotective even after you recovered, especially around food that Solomon made
Leviathan
When you came into his room and told him you had a stomach ache after eating Solomon’s food, he couldn’t stay serious as he was real thankful it wasn’t him who ate it
But after a while and you were still curled up on his floor, writhing in pain, he began to panic and ran to your side so fast
He did his research and proceeded to prod a few areas of your stomach until he hits your appendix and you cry out and he immediately knew that this could be more serious than a stomach ache
After taking you to the hospital to get medication, he took care of you in his room all by himself. He didn’t care about the events he was missing on his games as long as you would be ok
Gave you gentle little hugs throughout the day and reminded you to take your meds; attempting to calm you down when the pain got too intense
Scolds you to be more careful next time because he doesn’t wanna lose you and definitely goes to have a word with Solomon after
Satan
He understood how you felt when you told him you had stomach pains as his was pretty bad too
But after observing you and the pain just didn’t stop and you started to throw up and cry out in pain when you do so much as breathe, he got very worried
He researched what could be wrong and then took you to the hospital for you to be examined, taking home your meds so he could take care of you
He supported you during your time of illness, making sure you were comfy in his bed and that you felt as little pain as possible since he hated seeing you in pain so much
He helped you take your medicine and even brought you to the toilet if you felt pretty nauseous, cuddling and shushing you afterwards to comfort you while reading you a book
He absolutely will never let you near any of Solomon’s food again and now has a habit of poking your appendix to make sure you were still ok
Asmodeus
He heard off Satan that Solomon came round with his cooking so wasn’t too surprised when you came in to his room clutching your stomach and telling him about the pain
He didn’t think much of it until a few hours later and you begin to gag and fall to your knees in agony, rushing to your side to check you were alright and then guiding you to the bathroom
Decides to confide in Lucifer about your issues and the two of them take you to the hospital to help and pick up some medication
He coddles you while you get better, taking full care of you so you can recover and get back to normal
Though he’s not too keen of the smell of your vomit, he takes you wherever you need and cleans you up completely, giving you lots of hugs and affection to cheer you up
So glad after you finish recovering and he can get back to his normal routine, but not after telling off Solomon for making you poorly
Beelzebub
He’s not gonna lie, he has stomach pains too so the two of you just look after each other for the day
But when your pains didn’t go away, and you couldn’t eat without feeling immense pain and sickness, he got majorly worried for you
Went to Lucifer for help and decided to take you to the hospital, his hand holding yours the entire way there to comfort you whilst he grabbed your medication
Proceeded to take good care of you while you were sick by helping you take your meds and bringing up food when your appetite finally came back
Gave you lots of hugs, making sure not to touch your stomach and making sure you were comfortable and in no pain while in his embrace
So happy when you begin to recover fully, immediately wrapping his arms around you and squeezing you tight and obviously dragging you far away from Solomon’s food offers
Belphegor
You woke him up to tell him your stomach hurt and he wasn’t too surprised since Beel came in earlier to tell him the same thing
He decided cuddling would help and held you to his chest, gradually drifting off with you in his arms, his hands placed on your stomach to attempt to soothe the pain
He was awoken by your cries of pain, his arms wrapped around your appendix area tightly. He let go and checked you over frantically, inspecting the area that hurt until he slowly figured out what was wrong
Took you to the hospital to examine you further and grabbed some meds to fix you
Spent the next few days looking after you in the attic, feeding you medicine and pieces of food throughout the day and holding you gently in his arms
Wouldn’t let you leave until he could successfully wrap his arms around your stomach without you whining in pain and thoroughly scolded Solomon the next day
Diavolo
He heard about the incident with Solomon’s cooking and decided to come over and take care of you since the brothers were slightly busy and needed some assistance
He made sure not to touch you in places that may hurt and followed the rules provided by Lucifer in order to properly take care of you
He completely just coddled you the entire week and treated you like royalty, taking you to the bathroom when you needed it and held your hand softly
Gave you medicine when you needed it and made sure you were comfy, hugs were given when asked for too
Brought over some of Barbatos’ best cakes to cheer you up and so you could forget about the horrors of Solomon’s food
Ended up forcing Solomon to take a baking lesson with Barbatos
Barbatos
He ended up changing his entire schedule so he could take care of you when he found out you were ill
He did extra research on how to help or soothe any pain you may be feeling and even brought heating pads with him that he gently placed on your stomach
Gave you medicine when you needed it and never let you forget it, also taking you to the bathroom or on walks to stretch your legs when you asked him to
When you felt up to it, he fed you some of his best cakes and shared some hot tea with you, holding you calmly in his arms
He wasn’t much for revealing his soft side but he didn’t hesitate to show how much he cared for you during the week he looked after you by giving you lots of affirmation and cheek caresses
No doubt gave Solomon a telling off and a few lessons on how to cook correctly
Solomon
When you told him about your stomach pains after eating his food, he honestly felt quite guilty and promised he’d make it up to you somehow
But after a few hours and you were still in agony, he got particularly worried and decide to examine you slightly, moving his hands over your stomach until he reached your appendix and you breathed out a pained yelp
Decided to treat you himself since he had a pretty good idea on what was wrong and immediately got to making potions to soothe your pain and treat your condition
While you were recovering, he helped keep your mood high by giving you words of affirmation and making sure you were comfortable in bed. He also found out making you laugh hurt you quite a bit so he tried to refrain from that
Held you in his arms for a while, apologising for the trouble he’s caused you
Never really offered you food after that unless it was cleared as edible by Beelzebub
Simeon + Luke
The two of them came over to look after you because Luke was practically freaking out as soon as he heard you were sick and was desperate to help you get better, no matter what it took
Simeon brought some of his best sandwiches from his cafe to make up for the awful sandwiches Solomon gave you earlier
Luke made sure you took your medicine after being put in charge of that duty from Simeon
Simeon reassured you that you’d be ok in his care throughout the week and caressed your cheek and arms multiple times a day
When Luke wasn’t in the room, he’d climb into bed with you and cuddle up to your side, resting your head on his shoulder and comforting you the best he could
The two of them took you on walks in the nearby garden when you asked them to and supported you if you felt you needed to throw up, thought Luke didn’t want to watch you while that happened
Luke was practically yelling at Solomon for making you ill, Simeon holding him back when Solomon ended up making jokes about how much of a chihuahua he was being
