Ukraine Donation Guide Master Post
(Ver. 2 updated Aug 13th, 2024) I will be reformatting this and adding more in the future when I have time.
Also a quick note, all of the groups I have found through twitter have been around long enough for them to be vetted by each other and the brigades they work with. In fact, a lot of these groups collaborate with each other too. Those that are in the fight for Ukraine have been diligent in calling out those that are grifters. Word spreads around quickly if an organization doesn't show up with what they promised. They also use their social media (often Twitter) as a means of transparency for their work.
Remember: When considering on whether to donate, always use your best judgement and donate to those you trust if you do not see what is listed is up to your standards.
Multi-Purpose
United 24 has various fundraisers dedicated to defense and drones, medical aid, rebuilding Ukraine, humanitarian demining, and science and education. You can pick which one you want to contribute to under their various projects.
Liberty Ukraine uses funds for humanitarian aid, medical supplies, protective gear and equipment, and rehabilitation therapy. You can choose which campaign of theirs to donate to.
Come Back Alive is a charitable foundation that supports Ukraine's military with competent assistance while also focusing on security and defense. They also have projects that use sports to help veterans rehabilitate. You can choose which campaign to donate to.
Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation works to help both civilians and Ukraine's army. You can choose to donate to an active project or any of their general campaigns. Civilian aid campaigns cover temporary housing, supporting crisis and emergency responses, schools, demining, and healthcare. Military aid campaigns cover drones, optics units, communications equipment, and support of air defense teams.
Food Aid
World Central Kitchen works with local partners wherever they are providing food aid. They make sure meals and meal kits are what the local population eats. Even though there is no separate fundraising campaign for Ukraine (that I can see), they still do great work.
Animal Rescue
Hachiko Foundation works to help displaced pets and strays in frontline areas. They help with veterinary care, outdoor shelters, setting up feeding stations, and rehoming animals.
Medical Aid
Hospitallers (Website) is a volunteer organization of paramedics that was founded in 2014. They evacuate the wounded, provide medical aid on the frontlines, assist in rehabilitation, and transfer of the deceased to burial sites. They are also supported by Ukraine Charity. Visit Hospitallers' website to see how many they have evacuated, different methods you can donate, and more information about them.
Other
Saint Javelin (Twitter; Website) is a great place to get apparel, gear, and other cool loot to show your support for Ukraine. They don't take donations, but instead raise funds through their shop with a portion of their sales going towards humanitarian aid and critical items needed by the defenders (generators, pick-up trucks, medical supplies etc). Part of their shop has items made in Ukraine to support Ukrainian businesses. Overall, their products are high-quality. I include them due to their impactful presence in the Twitter community I follow and how they make Ukraine visible in an alternative way. Consider buying someone a gift from their shop.
The Kyiv Independent (Twitter; Website) is a great English language resource for news about Ukraine. I include them because I think supporting good journalism is incredibly important, especially now when the information space is fraught with Russian propaganda, misinformation, and disinformation. My followers have probably noticed I've pulled a lot of quotes from their stories in an effort to amplify Ukrainian voices and experiences. Look on their website for more information on different way to support them, such as their Patreon.
---
If you're on twitter, there are a number of groups and people that fundraise for Ukraine and for specific units fighting on the frontlines. If there is no official website, a PayPal for donations is listed in their profiles. When considering on whether to donate, always use your best judgement and donate to those you trust if you do not see what is listed is up to your standards.
@/Teoyaomiquu almost always has a fundraiser for Liberty Ukraine with a specified purpose. At the time of writing this, he is currently raising funds for engineering equipment such as excavators. One such excavator is already in Kursk. Follow him to stay up to date with what he's fundraising for.
Dyga's Paw (Twitter: @/dzygaspaw) is a smaller group that has recently raised funds for starlinks, drones, batteries, and Ecoflow generators. You can look at the fundraising campaigns they currently have on their website.
@/DefactoHumanity represents and founded Planet of the People with their website U(a)nited for Freedom. She frequently posts updates about their fundraisers and what their partners need. They are known for providing Frontline medical aid supplies, protective equipment and other military aid, technical equipment (starlinks, drones, scopes, etc), and infrastructure equipment (generators, vehicles, power stations, etc). They even have a merch store of the battalions they partner with if that's your jam. Here is their link tree if you wish to explore more. And in case you're curious, there is an article bout the founder here.
@/wilendhornets (Website) specialize in making high quality drones that have gotten a lot of praise from Ukraine's army. They have attracted a lot of media attention too. Check out their website for the list of articles that have been written about them. Their Twitter is very active with strike footage.
Ants Kitchen Hub (@/ants_kyiv) is a volunteer kitchen that makes dry rations for the Ukrainian army. They are more active on their other social media. To learn more about them, check out their link tree.
@/frontlinekit (Front Line Kitchen) is represented by Richard Woodruff. Originally they made shelf stable food for the Ukrainian army, but now their fundraising has branched out to other campaigns such as raising funds for medical supplies and drones. They are a well known group that many battalions have come to for help.
@/bekamaciorowski (Rebekah Maciorowski) is as combat medic and nurse who helps provide medical care to soldiers and civillians at the frontlines. She raises funds for medical supplies and other equipment, but also helps train soldiers in first aid. More of her social media that features her work can be found in her link tree.
@/UkraineAidOps (Website) is another organization battalions frequently go to for help. They fundraise for all sorts of equipment from medical supplies to drones. If you're interested, they also have a shop with patches from different brigades and flags signed by soldiers. Their shop also includes a separate section called the Victory Gallery where artifacts from the war are turned into art. This includes shells that are painted on, scrap metal from downed enemy planes are turned into keychains, and pieces of a rocket are turned into lamps.
Chris Garrett is the co-founder of Prevail. His organization deals with humanitarian demining as well as training for trauma care, training of bomb disposal, and education to the public. Prevail works with local agencies in Ukraine as well as the army.
Project Konstantin (Twitter; Website; Linktree) is still going strong after the death of their founder, British paramedic Peter Fouché. His digital ghost can be found here. They collaborate with the military, thus giving them an insight into what is dearly needed. They often raise funds for starlinks, personalized first aid kits (IFAKs), generators, portable power stations, and other nonlethal military equipment. I regret forgetting them the first time this post went around. Visit their website to see everything they have done and more. It has more information on what and how they do it than this post can cover.
One Team One Fight (Twitter; Website; Linktree) has some of the original members that worked for Ukraine Aid Ops. They formed their own group after differences with the previous one, and are still helping Ukraine. They are very visible on various social media showing what they have accomplished in their deliveries to various brigades. They're another group that seeks to bring starlinks, drones, medical supplies and protective gear to the battalions that come to them for help. Check out their website for more information on their current fundraisers, their achievements, and received recognition.
NAFO 69th Sniffing Brigade (Twitter; Website) Another small group that focuses their funds on delivering drones, generators, vehicles, and saving the occasional furry companion. They are very diligent in their updates for their fundraising campaigns. Check out their website for more information and the articles written about them.
Postmaster General Boomer (Twitter; Website) focuses on humanitarian aid, animal aid, and logistics. Boomer is the beloved pet of one of the founders and the secret boss/mascot. They have many transparency reports and are diligent in reporting the various "tours" they do in getting supplies where they are needed to go. They are based in Germany but have built up many connections during their existence. They have also worked closely with Ukraine Aid Ops.
--
I am sure I have forgotten some, so please reply or comment with any more I should add to this master post. I will edit and update as I see and evaluate more.

🇵🇸‼️Hello guys.
I am Hamdi Al-Shaltawi from Gaza City. I am addressing you because of my urgent need for help to provide a humane life for me and my family after the destruction of our home and the lives of my family. Everything disappeared. We are out in the open. There is no home for us. I humbly ask you to help me I lost my close friends. I lost people in my family. Our house has been destroyed and there is no safe place to live.
Unfortunately, our home was bombed and destroyed during the initial events, causing severe psychological and physical damage to me and my family due to the catastrophic situation we are currently living in. My family and I are suffering from severe shortages of food, supplies and medical equipment, in addition to high prices that make it difficult to meet our basic needs. We cannot even access clean drinking water. The loss of our homeland has exacerbated our suffering, and our daily life has become a constant struggle for survival. The urgent need to leave Gaza
Given the current deteriorating situation, it is imperative for me and my family to leave Gaza as soon as possible once the Rafah border crossing with Egypt opens. I hope it will open soon, and we need to raise the necessary funds quickly to ensure our safe passage. The cost of exiting Gaza through the Rafah crossing is approximately $5,000 per person.

This is our home and our shop, which was our source of livelihood after it was destroyed by the war

Simon Riley that goes out shopping with you. anytime you pass the deli he silently judges the butcher. Simon has experience from his time working as a butcher when he was younger, he’s scoffs when he sees the new kid behind the counter use a wrong knife or fumbles with equipment
Simon Riley that pushes the trolley for you. he has the list, makes sure to grab the essentials while you’re picking up snacks and treats. if you look like you’re having trouble deciding to buy something or not he’ll put it in the trolley for you, “Jus’ get it, you’ll complain if you leave it. I’m payin’, s’fine.”
Simon Riley that always buys a bouquet of flowers for you. if the store doesn’t have your favorites he’ll buy whatever he thinks looks prettiest. if you’re allergic to pollen he’ll buy you a lego flower set (he might just do that in general if you hint at wanting them)
Simon Riley that just enjoys mundane, domestic grocery store trips. he works up the nerve to ditch his balaclava for a black medical mask. he just likes the simplicity of shopping with you, seeing you point out different items, cracking a smile when you ask to ride in the trolley, “Yeah, yeah… get in. Before I change my mind, lovie.”

What is adaptive functioning?
directly inspired by this post by @five-thousand-loaves-of-bread
In short, adaptive functioning is a holistic view of someone's ability to adjust and change their behaviour in different environments and situations. This is a term primarily used to discuss people with developmental and intellectual disabilities and how they fare in comparison to their peers.
Someone's adaptive functioning is measured in three domains, which is why I called it holistic. All of these domains, separately and together, can affect someone's adaptive functioning.
There's the conceptual domain, the social domain, and the practical domain.
Conceptual domain: This refers to a person's cognitive skills, including their aptitude for knowledge acquisition, logical and critical thinking skills.
Social domain: This refers to a person's interpersonal skills. That includes things like the ability to understand other people's thoughts and emotions, the ability to create and maintain healthy interpersonal relationships, the ability to understand social situations and make judgements on them, and the ability to communicate in interpersonal relations.
Practical domain: This is where things like activities of daily living would come in. The practical domain measures how much a person can carry out daily tasks independently. Yes it includes things like shopping for food, maintaining hygiene, making meals. But overall you can think of it as the ability of self-management. Being able to keep track of what you need to do and when, initiate those tasks, plan for future tasks, manage your finances and time to make tasks possible, etc. There's a lot of organisation that goes into the practical domain.
Well how does it differ from basic and instrumental activities of daily living (b&iADLs)?
While ADLs are part of how we measure adaptive functioning, they can also be entirely distinct. ADLs are about being able to independently carry out regular activities.
Basic ADLs woule include self maintenance or self care tasks that are daily necessities. Things like brushing, showering, toileting, feeding oneself, dressing oneself, walking independently, transferring oneself. These are things that are directly related to one's immediate wellbeing and basic needs.
Instrumental ADLs include more long-term maintenance and self care, like going shopping and meal prepping, managing money, managing transport to places, managing medications, managing housecare and chores. Being able to do iADLs dramatically improves one's quality of life and allows them to live independently, work jobs, and such.
When measuring ADLs, we only consider whether or not someone can do them or not. This doesn't necessarily measure their overall ability or what sort of care they will need, because that depends on the reasons why they can't perform these activities. This can be a measurement of someone's support needs, but it's not comprehensive.
For example if someone can't meal prep because they don't have the ability to grip kitchen utensils, certain adaptive equipment or pre-cut foods can facilitate them being able to do this. They still can't perform that iADL without intervention or support.
If someone can't meal prep because they don't understand that knives are dangerous and will hurt themselves, or they can't connect that chopping some carrots will eventually lead to having vegetable soup because of cognitive difficulties, or simply don't understand that meal prepping is a necessity and can't direct their attention to anything that doesn't immediately intrest them, they still can't perform that iADL. Sometimes their cognitive issues may mean that they don't have the ability to independently manage tasks that need to be doing in order to facilitate necessities such as meals. This would be because of low adaptive functioning. The support they would need for cooking might be constant supervision, or to be disallowed from cooking altogether and have other people prepare meals.
Likewise if someone has no ability to hold utensils, depending on why, they might need a different method to get food into their mouth. Someone without the ability to understand the steps of feeding, such as getting food on the spoon, opening the mouth, chewing, swallowing they struggle with the same bADL. But the intervention needed to make feeding possible would be different. A carer might have to feed them, remind them to open their mouth, close their mouth, chew and swallow for each bite.
In these situations considering only the fact that someone cannot perform an ADL doesn't really represent what support needs that they have. It's not a comprehensive measurement of support needs specifically, even if it is an indication of impairment. If we understand adaptive functioning and what it means, then we can better understand the support needs of disabled people. We will understand that someone might have low adaptive functioning but is able to do certain ADLs and someone with high adaptive functioning might not be able to perform certain ADLs. We can also understand the difficulties, barriers, and support needs of intellectual and/or developmentally disabled people.

reading through the dr wifey tag and thinking about how joe gets someone else to do the car and handyman stuff and what if wifey is the one that opens the door when the bug guy comes or something and I’m thinking one of two things
1. The guy refuses to believe she lives there/owns the home and keeps asking for the man of the house (has happened to me many times)
2. Flirts with her
I just know Joe appears behind her in seconds like 🧍♂️ we won’t be needing your services today, fuck off and bye
this concept is so delicious, i had to write it out
The shrill chime of the doorbell pierced the quiet afternoon air, echoing through the sprawling Cincinnati home. She had been nestled in the living room, engrossed in a medical journal article, blue light glasses shielding her eyes from the glow of her laptop. With a sigh, she set the laptop on the coffee table and padded towards the front door in her plush slippers. The house felt particularly quiet today; both she and Joe were engrossed in their own worlds.
As she swung the door open, the cool, fall breeze carried past her. The exterminator stood before her, a middle-aged man with a green polo and a cap emblazoned with a cartoonish bug. He took a moment to scrutinize her, his eyes flickering over her crewneck and leggings, glasses perched atop her head. "Hi, can I help you?" She asked, her voice firm but courteous.
The man's smile was forced, his eyes lingering for a beat too long before he finally spoke. "Yes, ma'am. I'm Reggie from Pest Patrol. Mr. Joe Burrow's expecting me." His tone was skeptical, as if her mere presence was a glitch in his day. She watched as his eyes traveled over her body, assessing and judging without a hint of subtlety.
Recognition flashed in her eyes as she introduced herself. "Come in," she said, her tone cooler than the breeze outside. "Joe is busy right now but I can show you around for the inspection." She stepped aside, allowing the exterminator to enter. His gaze lingered on the expensive decor, the polished floors, and the walls adorned with sports memorabilia and family photos. The disbelief was palpable, rolling off him in waves, but she ignored it.
He followed her into the kitchen, his eyes flicking around the space as if searching for evidence that she truly belonged. "So, Mrs. Burrow," he began, his voice dripping with sarcasm, "do you have any concerns about where the pests might be coming from?"
Her jaw tightened, but she kept her smile in place. "Oh, I'm not married," she began, her voice as sweet as sugar, belying the irritation simmering beneath the surface. "Just being proactive, no concerns at the moment."
The exterminator chuckled, a sound that grated on her nerves. "So, you're the housekeeper, then?" His smile never reached his eyes as he began setting down his equipment.
She felt a spark of anger but kept her voice calm. "No, I'm Joe's girlfriend," she corrected, her voice as smooth as silk.
The exterminator's smile didn't falter. "Girlfriend, huh?" He began poking around in the cabinets, asking questions about their kitchen habits and pantry staples, all the while keeping his tone lightly mocking. "Well, I guess you've got it made, living here with the big shot football player. Must be nice, not having to worry about bills, huh? Tough times and all." His gaze flickered to the white gold watch adorning her wrist.
Her smile was brittle. "I guess so," she replied, her voice tight. She didn't owe this man an explanation and she wasn't about to justify her relationship or her right to be in Joe's home - her home.
"I'm surprised you know this many details," he remarked once again as he checked the baseboards in the hallway, his eyes never leaving hers for too long. She felt a knot of irritation form in her stomach, his doubtful gaze feeling like a thousand tiny needles pricking at her pride. "Most of the girls I see with guys like Joe are more about the shopping than the home maintenance," he said with a smug chuckle.
Her smile didn't waver, but her eyes narrowed slightly. "Well, it's my home too, so I like to know what's going on." The exterminator grunted noncommittally, but his skepticism was as thick as the scent of the chemicals he carried.
As they moved through the house, her irritation grew. She'd faced assumptions about her relationship before, but the blatant disrespect was grating. Just as she could feel her couth begin to slip, she felt a strong hand find her hip, a warm chest press against her back, an even voice interrupt the man's probing.
"Everything okay here?" Blue eyes met hers, glancing toward the older man before leaning down to kiss her cheek. She felt a wave of relief wash over her as Joe stepped into the room, his demeanor revealing he had heard the tail end of the conversation. The exterminator, Reggie, took a step back, his smug grin fading as he took in Joe's broader frame and the firm grip on her waist.
"Just talking," she said lightly. "Reggie was surprised that I knew about the kitchen layout and our pest control needs."
Joe's eyes flashed with something that looked like distaste, but his voice remained calm. "I'm Joe," he said, extending a hand that the exterminator took with a hint of hesitance.
"Reggie," the man said, his smile forced. "She's smart, knows what's going on around here." He tried to cover his tracks, but the awkwardness lingered in the air like a bad smell.
Joe's gaze never left the exterminator. "Well, we're a team," he said, his voice a low rumble. "I'd even say she's smarter than I am."
The exterminator chuckled nervously, looking from Joe to her and back again. "Ah, I can see that," he said, his voice suddenly syrupy. "But maybe I should speak to the man of the house before I start the job."
Her eyes narrowed and she felt Joe's hand tighten slightly around her waist. "She's more than capable of handling this," Joe said firmly. "But if it makes you uncomfortable, I can reschedule for another day, have someone else come out."
The exterminator took a moment, his expression shifting from surprise to embarrassment. "No, no, I'm good," he said, his voice strained. "Just a little misunderstanding, I guess."
She could feel the tension in Joe's body, his protectiveness radiating through the fabric of his shirt. "Well, let's get this done," Joe said, his eyes lingering on the exterminator before turning to her. He leaned in to kiss her, deep and slow before murmuring against her lips, "You okay?"
She nodded, her face warm, and Joe gave her a gentle squeeze before releasing her. "Good," he said, his voice dropping to a whisper. "You let me know if he makes you uncomfortable again." With that, he turned and strode back down the hall, his office door remaining open just a crack.

(Edited to add headshots because tumblr hates detail) I've etched away at this is a lovely few weeks, so click for full res and all the little details, okay? It's my love letter to the journey I've found myself on
This is long-ish, so its under the cut (but worth reading...)
I had been thinking a lot recently about that double feature episode, you know the one? I half remembered it then, when they chased a bunch of alien spies so fast through the solar system they all got thrown back in time. Half the crew went on a little undercover adventure in Toronto in 2024. It was great because they got completely cut off from the Enterprise, so half of them, well mostly Uhura and Spock if I recall correctly, spent their time collecting as many radios as possible and worked on building their own communications. Uhura and Spock were basically taking turns constantly tweaking radios by the window with wires everywhere. Oh yeah, their base of operations was the whole top floor of a worn out old building looking over a big square. They ended up in the really arty/queer part of town full of art galleries and thrift stores.....??
Chapel and Chekov were sent out to those shops to find disguises for everyone. I loved the joke that Chekov was puzzled and slightly alarmed that Christine just knew everyone's clothes sizes and measurements with no explanation. Later on, they ended up getting separated from the rest of the group and getting held up by B story shenanigans, mostly getting lost and running into culture shocks. It was fun to see them having their own adventures and made for a pretty interesting combo. Spock and Uhura spent most of their time with the tech, accidentally listening to the times most popular music while changing frequencies. Jim and Sulu paired off to search for clues, and getting supplies and spent a lot of time talking to the locals setting up for a Pride parade. McCoy, feeling paranoid and irritable that he had practically no equipment, wandered around with Dr Alfred Nahdi, the Botanist, who kept picking random weeds and talking about how extraordinary the little dandelions were. Oh and together they stole a whole medical bag out of an ambulance?? It was pretty funny. Anyway, the main issue was they couldn’t risk leaving the area because all these alien spies had assimilated into the population and they had to track them all down and bring them back with them so as not to disrupt the timeline or something. They had to track down the aliens while making sure the aliens didn't pick up on who they were or that they were also out of place. They ended up being there for around two whole ass months, I think. The spies were spread out all over and there were about 30 of them, but it ended up being the Botanist, Alfred (Alfie) Nahdi who found the enemy base of operations by complete accident. Alfred, who had spent most of the time studying all the common flowers and weeds that were so ordinary at that time but were extinct in their time, figured out where the aliens' base of operations was because the big plant shop at the end of the square had a few succulents that could not have existed in 2024. It was a big "woah" moment. And there was this whole thing where he had to act like he hadn’t just figured it out because the florist, who was almost certainly a spy, was watching him and McCoy. But soon after, it all went to hell anyway when a fight broke out and Sulu was straight up shot with the aliens' weapon that had bullets made from alien metal. So then Bones had to perform old school surgery on him in their HQ, with only 2024 equipment. Jim, Spock, and Uhura were out fighting and ran into Chapel and Chekov and were able to finish them off, but it got really crazy because there was a Pride parade in the square at the same time so they had to make sure no one noticed them. While Bones was pulling bullets out of Sulu, with the botanist assisting him until Chapel (who had been sent by Jim) appeared and took over. McCoy said something like, “Christine, I’ve never been so glad to see you in my life,” and they sewed him up all old school. And it worked out! But Bones was a mess because he had to do messy surgery with none of his kit, and so much pressure, and more blood than he was used to... Chapel stayed with Sulu, and Bones and Nahdi went to sit on the fire escape stairwell and had a sweet scene of Bones just full of adrenaline, his hands couldn't stop shaking. They sat hand in hand for a while listening to all the people on the streets below. Then Spock, Jim, Uhura, and Chekov appeared at the stairwell and they all had a happy, albeit exhausted reunion. After a day of everyone recovering from all the excitement, Uhura and Spock used some extra tech they got from the aliens and finally made contact with poor Scotty who was up on the Enterprise losing the will to live. Anyway, their outfits were iconic tbh.
I invented this whole thing to draw Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy in a sweater. I lost control of the situation. I spent a lovely two weeks etching away at this with the support of my lovely ST server, I love you guys. This ones for you.
