I buy my meat from local butchers. The meat is cut in the shop and I watch them wrap it, sometimes I watch them cut it.🤔

#wolves #screenshots #the long dark #mystery lake #every region I go into I pick one location to be my ''home base'' for that region.#like a base camp to which I return after visiting and looting other places in the region #I centralize most of my key items there but I scatter things across the map as well in case of emergency #like I leave fire supplies and water (and raw meat + fresh hides if I have them) in every cave #I'll distribute extras of key supplies and tools too #I always keep a knife a hatchet and a prybar on me. I like to have 1x extra each at my home camp #and I'll deposit additional ones around other buildings in the map; trying to put a fair bit of distance between each #methinks this is a common playstyle #but what I think might be a little (?) less common is my decoration! I like to pretty up my home bases for a little ✨aesthetic✨#I think that because walkthroughs/streams/clips/let's plays/tutorials give me the impression that the player base is largely cis men #and I . hold a stereotype that cis men wouldn't care to do that / wouldn't think to / might even think it's a waste of time #on a majority basis #but really I have no idea.

I like to think numbers , variables , & operations/symbols are all wildly different creatures. With variables being more closely related to symbols than numbers. They’re all similar in size & compatible with one another but they do have distinction

#in my headcanons variables hav beaks(like squid) and tend to lack claws.. those mfs have paw pads too ..#variables r kinda prey animal esque . idk. th #i think they are primarily awake during the day & their senses and adaptations make them vety good at finding&eating all sorts of fruits #and nuts annd stff #whereas operations n numbers tend to eat more meat #variables good for a set bc they like to gather!! so they supply berries& nuts and such. while numbers #(or operations) hunt meat. and together they have a FULLLL mwal #also I tginnk. numbers have. retractable claws& a retractable set of sharp teeth that’s good for biting down hard n fast #it’s also good for thread displays/intimidation purposes #when their eyes go black it is a threat display.. their pupils dilatinfcall the way.. it’s not too practical

Portioning and freezing food after I go to the Big Club Store feels like putting in provisions for the long winter ahead like hark! we shall eat heartily of these lunch meats through the next three fortnights or more, for now they shall not succumb to decay

#lunch meat has gotten so EXPENSIVE #costco has a pack with 3 one-pound packages for $15 #but i have to FOCUS on eating through them before they go bad #and sometimes i dont get through them before they do #i froze the individual packs before and it worked ok #but each pack is still big #today i portioned them into six 8-ounce packs and froze THOSE #also portioned out a big thing of chocolate chip cookie dough into cookie size chunks #and froze them in half-dozen bags #for when i Just Need a Fresh Cookie #and also froze most of a pack of the Big Nice Blueberry Muffins #while i eat through the apple turnovers i also bought #supplies are LAID IN #my posts

Obviously not right now because I have Shit To Do; but maybe during the summer after I’ve moved

#alcohol mention #Apparently you can make mead out of honey and I love honey so of course I have to try it #I want to make more food from scratch so I can reduce my plastic consumption #because my ten-year goal is to convert to a completely anticapitalist zero-waste lifestyle #Just for me… I don’t put pressure on anyone to do the same unless they’re well-off and being ridiculous about their consumption #Except for maybe encouraging people to switch to reusable water bottles if they’re in an area where the tap water is potable #(like where I live)#or flaunting my canvas shopping bag that I got for 5 dollars at a hardware store whenever possible #Okay I guess I do push people a little bit #But it’s all reasonable things directed at people I know are physically mentally and financially able to do those things #or I’ll just casually mention microplastics and pollution in conversation as a “fun fact”#But I’m not ridiculous about it with anyone but myself #I hold myself to some weird standards that I don’t hold others to and I’m fine with it #Obviously it’s the corporations’ faults that everything is the way it is and no single person can make a huge difference #But if everyone does one thing to help the planet; then it might buy us some time to change the system #There is also the issue of supply and demand; if more people reduce plastic intake then less plastic will be produced #But again: it’s very hard to be ethical in this society. EVERYTHING enjoyable is packaged in plastic and it sucks #(ok not literally everything but consider: most candy is wrapped in plastic and clothes have plastic tags and chips are in plastic #sushi is in plastic containers and meat is in shrink wrap or styrofoam and most modern chewing gum is a byproduct of vinyl #toys are packaged in plastic etc. etc.)
