Least fun parts of thrift shopping:

This thrift shop used to have jeans for like $3 and now everything is priced like it's new

Hear about a cool new thrift shop in town and you check it out and it's actually "vintage upcycling and consignment" so the shredded jorts are $250 on sale

This place used to get cool stuff but the tiktok haul resale people found it and now anything decent is snapped up and immediately resold for like $500 online

The jacket of your dreams is in your price range but it's 3 sizes too small

I COULD. I COULD,,,, if I gave myself $30 to spend on games I could,,,, well Wildermyth + In Stars And Time would shell that out quick. GROAN. okayokayokay $50. Bweew,,,, maybe. Cross reference the sale price and the usual price and consider whether I could just wait cause the price is already P CLOSE…. 40%+ sales focus….. MATH

Do I rly need more than two games? I hate wondering whether I’m parenting myself or DENYIN MYSELF SOMETHIN I COULD MANAGE (could I rly manage. Maybe this is your conscience. THINK. When’s the next time you’re gonna get A CHARITABLE MONEY GIFT. That’s like a twice a season gift. I could get holiday gift money…. Money is the best gift after all….. and I always say I’ve already got more physical items than I need (rather have a game or money). JUST HMMMMM. I have 50+ games and only about 4 at any given time are enticing. Same four. Chances are new games could go that route too. But they could ALSO be a month or longer hyperfixations if I’m lucky. I will get at least One Game….. bet I could convince the roomie to buy me Armello).

Do you have any thoughts on how to approach developing your visual library? :O you mentioning it in your other art advice posts was super helpful and helped me narrow down that’s what I want to work on with my art right now, but I feel im struggling to break down /how/ to study very efficiently orz. Are there any methods, approaches, exercises, etc that clicked for you personally in terms of, I suppose being able to approach studying in a way that felt it rlly helped you learn from it?

It doesn’t have to function as super general + easy to follow advice or anything, just seeing other perspectives & thought processes is rlly interesting! you mentioning you approach shape language in a different way than the usual “circle/triangle/square” method really made something in my brain click about approaching character design for example haha

Sorry if this sounds pretentions but I am a nerd about art and learning. Never ask a nerd if youre not prepared for a nerd answer
