Spy X Family AU

So! Jack Fenton is a Super Spy/Scientist who is working on a mission to investigate Amity Park. The Government has put an Information Blackout on the entire Town, so he has been assigned to infiltrate the town. When he discovers that the town is contaminated with Ectoplasm, he asks to stay there to study the Stuff.

Maddie Fenton is an Assasin who used to work for the League of Assasins, right under Talia, before she deserted the League and ran away. She ran to Amity Park because of how secluded it was, and began working as a Mercenary Assasin to make a living. She is also a Scientist who discovered Ectoplasm and wanted to study it because it reminded her of Lazarus.

They meet while studying Ectoplasm and use eachother to cement their Cover Stories (and get a new study partner).

Jazz in the child Jack adopted from a nearby Orphanage so he could blend in with a "Normal Father" Facade. She is a Liminal with Telepathic Abilities who knows everything about the other two, but keeps it a secret because she wants to psochoanalyze them. Her real parents are unknown, but that's what's fun about making your own AU, you can mess around with it.

Danny is the dog.

Just kidding, Danny is actually a Hybrid child between a Human and a Ghost who was left on Jack and Maddies doorstep as a Kid. They understood what he was immediately and took him in so he wouldn't be taken and experimented on by the GIW, pretending that he was a normal kid (and forgetting to tell him that he is a Ghost to begin with)

He doesn't even know he is a Hybrid for a while, until an accident in the Lab when he is 5 results in discovering his Ghost Form but thinking he just straight up died and brought himself back. Oh and he can see the Future sometimes, just to throw that in there.

I wonder who the Ghostly Father of this Hybrid child who can see into the future and is very powerful? Surely not the Ghost who deals with time and is also very powerful? Sure, absolutely impossible...

y'all ordered a dilf, right? i got a hot and fresh one, right outta the oven! he ain't toxic, but he'd love to indulge some bratty behavior. 😉

darius king is an incredibly successful and surprisingly private businessman - a land management and real estate magnate, his name is up there with the altos, fengs, and landgraabs. and yes, you'll note that it says "his" name: darius king built his company, king foundations, from the ground up. his focus lies in degentrification and the support of local business, building up places like his hometown of simton, north simolina into prospering and affordable townships.

he's a largely private man, only intensified by the loss of his wife when his twins were very young. while he's a sharp and calculating businessman, darius' entire world revolves around his two boys, zephaniah and zion. while they want for nothing, darius has filled their life with as much normalcy as possible, and the two are genuinely sweet and kind young men.

thoughtful, too. thoughtful enough to notice that of all the things their dad is so silent and taciturn about, there's little signs of his "little thing" for penny pizzazz all around the penthouse. magazines she's featured in, tickets to fashion shows she may attend, her social media being one of seven he publicly follows...

well, darius wasn't thrilled about the concept of entering a bachelorette challenge when his boys told him they'd signed him up for one. but when he learned it was penny pizzazz's bachelorette challenge, well...

let's just say, he's a grown man - and he’s on grown man's business. 😉

darius is ambitious, an art lover, and romantically reserved

he's fiercely protective of his sons, and has lost a lot of his life to furthering his business and raising his twins.

zephaniah (zeph) is a street fashion blogger (left) and zion is a football 🏈 player who was just signed to his college of choice (right)

born in a very small and run-down town in the south: comfortable in his wealth, but remains a southern boy deep at heart

stoic and charismatic, he enjoys being a listener and indulging people in their own energies.

and he is indulgent. he loves spoiling people, be that with surprise gifts, trips, dinners, you name it. he enjoys standing there, basking in the glow of your excitement while he smiles oh-so-indulgently, quiet but for the twinkle in his eye.

like he'd absolutely let penny yell and stomp her foot and whine in his face with a smile on his face before presenting her with some $10k bracelet in smug victory djkhfd

Okay but now I feel compelled to wonder, in that fun AU of CC and Marilyn being Captain and Mary Marvel, what their lives as heroes would be like

Like, villains are the same for the most part with probable lack of antagonism with Sivana, he’s the dude who hired them for the dog in the first place with the public intent of a historical attraction at a park and on the side of the bus he’s campaigning for mayor. Other than that, villains seem to be the same from the brief moments we see.

They stay out of the limelight, they prioritize keeping their identities hidden for the sake of Billy and Mary’s saftey and childhoods, and they take their duties seriously.

But what’s tingling at the brain right now is how they’d interact with the rest of the world of DC, heroes and teams and whatnot, outside of Fawcett and the menagerie of characters there. We know CC accidentally stumbled onto some daring scene with Spy Smasher and the bunch (no joke, time was funky in Fawcett and CC was alive at that time) but I’d love to see him with other heroes

Like, say he fills the normal roles in comics Billy would’ve, joins JLI and, like his son, tries calling the other heroes out for acting like bigger juveniles than his actual kids and ditches bc apparently the people who save the world on the regular cant not try and fist fight the other every few hours. He’s on and off some team, focusing on his city and his family more and more, pops in for bigger fights when they occur but is mostly hometown based and handles his own issues.

Of newer stuff, I turn to YJ’s tv show for another idea. Aka, CC also being a chaperone for the Team at the same time Billy comes in but with a twist, turns out his kids have a percolation for magic and have been getting the hang of some spells so they’re joining the Team too while CC is on chaperone duty. So leads Billy and Mary’s attempt at a slow entrance into heroism that immediately backfires when they get captured, cue heartwarming scene of dad hugging his kids after a dangerous situation that follows him tearing the base apart looking for them. True dad fashion and all that. What becomes complicated is the World Without Grown Ups plot, in which I say have Billy and his had pre-the plot agree that Billy can have Shazam powers for super big emergencies and Billy definitely counts all adults disappearing as an emergency. Cue once more the fun father son bonding of Billy looking just like his old man with Shazam powers.

Onto Marilyn, who unfortunately doesn’t seem to have more beyond “clever” and “good mom” from comics, but she’s got her hutzpah and would probably be as active a hero as CC while still prioritizing her life and family over heroism. The whole Shazam thing is definitely more a job than it is what kind of person she is, she’s an archeologist and likes that profession more than she likes worrying about everyone else. She’s definitely more no nonsense and, if there’s a difference, she’d probably prefer the more grounded crime fighting than the mystical shenanigans CC would do in her stead. Billy and Mary end up closer to her in quality time since that focus of crime fighting keeps her grounded.

Also, the general vibes of the Captain Marvel tropes. Such as the identity shenanigans.

It is a fun thing of fanfic that, since his civilian identity is very vulnerable and people like their identity plots, Billy has his questioned or revealed a lot. Add in CC as Marvel instead and it flips a bit to be a man who is well known in his home city whose entire family, non-powered children included, could easily become targets if anyone knew who he was. And he’s deliberately secretive about it for that purpose, he’s protecting his children with his wife. So, perspective, there’s a new hero who comes in with a hero partner who is also their life partner. They have the power of actual gods and titans, they don’t explain anything past some nebulous Wizard they can’t name as to how they got their powers, they are very hush-hush on their normal lives but everyone knows they have to have one. It’s hard to contact them, you don’t know they’re working or traveling or with their kids because you don’t know they do work or that they have kids, so you worry what they’re up to for what seems to be every hour they aren’t begrudgingly saving the world with the rest of the heroes. You catch them talking to the other but the minute they hear you they clam up and change everything about how they were just a second ago, you could swear they were talking about digs or gods or bringing someone home but you don’t know anything because you don’t know them.

Cue the mistrust, the reveals, how it all goes wrong and someone gets hurt, be it the other when they don’t have their powers or their kids and suddenly you’ve pissed off the man who loves his family so much he was tearing the multiverse open to try and keep the timeline going where they were all alive and happy together and the woman who loves those kids just as much. Or, say that reveal had villains get both of the Batsons, and now those heroes have to look those orphans in the eye and beg forgiveness, and when fate still demands its heroes out comes two new ones that make it seem like the whole Batson sham was fake and no way Marilyn and CC were the Marvels, the marvels are still flying around after they’ve gone and gotten dead and buried. Cue those heroes looking at the new Captain and Mary Marvel, knowing it’s the kids they accidentally made orphans wearing the faces of the friends they betrayed.

Let’s just say that Barista doesn’t know their birth father. He just wasn’t in their life, that’s all. They don’t know who he is and their mother/other parent never speaks of him. It’s fine, it happens.

But imagine they bring it up to Elias, saying how much they wish they could atleast know who he is.

Warden, either by overhearing this or being told by Elias, goes out of his way to find documentation of Barista’s birth father, with permission and confirmation from their other parent.

However, Warden didn’t expect to be familiar with the name.

He had no idea that his rival, leader of the Penance, Morgan, had an heir.

See, the thing that gets me the most about Zeff being Sanji's father is that it's probably just so obvious to everyone else

They're pulled off the rock together, more dead than alive, and the kid still bites at anyone who tries to pull him away from the old man. Their rescuers never decide whether it's a trauma response or if they think the two were already attached before all this happened

Sanji's a little more civilized at the hospital they're taken to, but he still refuses to be separated from Zeff. He lies and says Zeff worked on the Orbit with him. Their caretakers just take his word and assume that if Zeff wasn't his parent before, he is now

There really aren't many reasons for a little kid to be at a sea restaurant built to cater to pirates

Patty and Carne arrive at the Baratie, not knowing what to expect, take one look at these two blond haired, blue eyed, bad tempered cooks, and immediately go "oh. this is a father and son business"

They are far from the last hires to come to this conclusion. Pretty much everybody who goes through the Baratie makes the same assumption

The fact that Sanji gets more upset about anybody insulting Zeff than about them insulting the restaurant as a whole doesn't help anything

Patty and Carne start taking bets on how bad Sanji's freak out is going to be the next time some one tells him 'shouldn't you have a little more respect for your father?'

It does not get better as he gets older.

In fact, as he climbs the ranks and cooks who didn't see him fighting tooth and nail for his position come in, they'll assume he's just a brat who was named second in command just because he's the owner's son

Patty and Carne start taking bets on how long it will be before Sanji will have to put the new hire in his proper place

And then the Straw Hats arrive and Sanji tries to say he's not leaving with them.

Luffy's complaining about it to the others and Zoro (dead father), Usopp (abandoned by father), and Nami (yet to accept that her father still loves her) are all just like "Well, if he doesn't want to leave his dad, then he doesn't want to leave his dad."

Luffy (doesn't know dads are a thing people usually have) is just like "???" But still refuses to take Sanji until Zeff's given his permission and Sanji's agreed to go

And it doesn't stop just because Sanji's no longer working next to Zeff for people to make the comparison

Chopper and Franky learn about this man who took in a feral kid, gave him a home, and taught him his trade and immediately go "Father" because it's exactly what Hiriluk and Tom did for them

Sanji didn't name himself Black Leg.

When his bounty was issued and he had to be given a full title, somebody looked at this blond haired, blue eyed, bad tempered pirate, this cook who fights with his feet and won't hit women, and somebody looked at him and went "I recognize this"

He was given a name in clear reference to Red Leg Zeff

The thing about Sanji and Zeff, is that despite how long it took him to admit it to himself, Sanji's always been Zeff's son
