OHHHHH LULLYYY!!! I'M FEELING SO EPIC AND FLATTERED AND EMBARRASSED AND HAPPY HERE...... SGGKJSKFK DO U KNOW THAT'S LITERALLY ME @ U THO !!!!!!! sherlock: fate extra materials say that hakuno has some amazing detective skills (what with all the lil "quests" you do in game and all) so i think some situation that forces these two to cooperate on their wits would be real interesting! i just thought of these two working together on an escape room or sth and damn would i be willing to place my bets on these two being the first to finish it 👏👏✨ which also makes me think: they'd work pretty well as allies or comrades — which is pretty funny too, considering how the another ending ce is one of the best ce reccs to pair up with sherlock ☆ — but as friends.... 🤔 well what i'm saying is that!! i see that "little regards to emotions" on your sherlock's page and boy do i sense some interesting things coming for when that clashes with hakuno and her extremely emotionally-driven and relationship-oriented self! would they butt heads?? would they be an iconic brain-and-heart combo?? lots of possibilities tbh! and also!!! this one is kinda random but i hc my hakuno to be a pianist (the human she's based off is a pianist and the npc would naturally have those skills as well, but she's just not aware of it yet-) and i remember sherlock being able to play the violin so -vague hand gestures- idk sth abt it would be cute methinks..!! it'd be sweet if they could play together too 🥺

caenis: i see his line saying he hates the ocean and I VERY MUCH NEED TO SEE HIM AND HAKUNO GO TO THE OCEAN NOW THANK U VERY MUCH- on hakuno's side! she's spent all her life in a damn academy in a damn virtual world, so i'd just love to see her explore the world in general.. an ocean or just the sea is especially high on that list because se.ra.ph was like the digital sea you see-- and in the arenas, she'd always get a view from in the ocean rather than looking at it from above. it'd be a new experience for her!! and paired with caenis's hatred for the ocean, i feel like it'd be Intewesting 👀 i see caenis having a sweet tooth as well and as someone who loves candy, they can be a sweet tooth squad!! they also have the brutally honest aspect in common and i gotta say,, seeing the line he has for musashi, i'd love to see him potentially calling hakuno out for some of the stuff she does (prime example: hakuno being a very good-hearted and kind person but firmly believing she's bad because she's done some bad stuff) and idk much abt caenis, but a two-way street in character development would be -chef kiss- ! let them both help each other become better mayhaps 🤲🤲✨ ALSO.. i see caenis having a pair of animal ears and idk what type it is exactly (bunny ears??) but this must be said--!!! hakuno loves fluffy-wuffy things and would absolutely want 2 pet--

douman: hakuno's a huuuge history buff so she'd most definitely know about his history and all that, but i, da mun, am not <3 GDJDJSJ will be googling up his background and life story sooner or later but for the time being!! just speaking on the things i've witnessed on the dash from here to there- hakuno and her curious self would most certainly be curious about this clown alter ego that's apparently been causing a ruckus. NGL I REALLY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT DOUMAN'S WHOLE DEAL IS- and yes i finished shimousa but gotdang is my goldfish memory a struggling binch-- but me thinking about hakuno and her pure innocent nature has got me very Hm 👀(TM). and i will be embawwassing now and admit that i couldn't find as much info abt douman as i liked so i went snooping thru ur posts a lil 🏃‍♂️ AND PLS HE'S H*RNY⁉️ DGJEHCJS my hakuno's a demisexual too so her encountering the very horny douman would probably be so 👁_👁... for her dgdjjehc but!!! fun and laughs aside i am-!!!! actually eye-ing this veeery intently because love and lust is a pretty dang interesting topic to delve into!! i think i saw a post of yours saying sex is his substitute for love and i raise my moon girl like simba-- who i can very much see bluntly speaking out her mind on that matter... trying to understand where he's comibg from but not hesitating to say her bit on how she thinks that's futile and that he'll never obtain happiness that way 😳

enkidu: these two....... THESE TWO........ 🥺😭. artificial beings!!!! learning to be more human together mayhaps-- honestly one of the biggest themes with my moon girl which i'd love 2 explore with everyone's favorite lancer here! and listennnn, it was heavily implied that a berserker enkidu is a servant hakuno could contract with based on compatibility alone (nasu may not have explicitly confirmed it but it is Canon in my heart ok 😤) and i think there's sooo many ways to play off of that (disclaimer tho! it'd be most definitely alright if enkidu doesn't remember her at all! that gives us some angst potential to play with too >:3 ^_T) hakuno remembering enkidu from their beserker form and then interacting with them as a lancer..... hakuno not remember them at first but slowly regaining her memories of them from se.ra.ph as she interacts with their lancer variants....... lots of ways 2 go about it! ANDD i feel like flowers are becoming a decently prominent thing with my hakuno and i do recall enkidu's valentine gift ces being flowers too so-- i dunno how or why but i want something flower inspired for them.....!!!!! OH AND AND since they both dress pretty plainly, it'd be cute if they could dress each other up! i'm also thinking about them doing each other's hair because there's this one super super adorable art of hakuno braiding their hair which i adore oh so very much 🥺

pepe: BEING 100% TRANSPARENT HERE-- I HAVEN'T EVEN FINISHED LB1 😳...... but!!!! this is a duo that honestly intrigues me So Much because i've heard a lot about how pepe and hakuno have A Lot in common (which- for my hakuno could be both a good thing and a bad thing.. my hakuno definitely has a very deep and unique sense of loneliness, so having someone so similar to her would be both comforting and frightening methinks...) case in point-- this post! (also- random but op's brain is so huge and i love reading their thoughts abt hakuno so much -chef kiss-). i feel like there can be sooo much potential for them to develop more as people thanks to their interactions, and i feel like they really could get along! i can honestly see a pretty damn wholesome friendship too tbh 🥺 and characters who seem so incredibly different on the surface but actually share a lot of deeper themes and things in common is a personal fav of mine okok!!! 😤👏💯💯✨ also a big fan of the concept of pepe and hakuno absolutely slaying and breaking gender roles ✊✊ (pepe being more feminine-like and hakuno being more of a tomboy herself). AND I AM DEEPLY SORRY IN ADVANCE BUT here's a random silly thought that i just have to say too-- i can imagine hakuno gifting them a plushie of pepe the frog... solely because they share a (nick)name..... VDDGFKEHDJ

elijah: CONSIDERING HOW MY HAKUNO IS VERY MUCH LIKE A PINOCCHIO THAT WANTS TO BE HUMAN-- this duo intrigues me very much yes yes 👀✨ hakuno doesn't have the best opinion of herself (putting this very very lightly-) and views herself as a sorry attempt of a living being really ^_T so i feel like she'd expect elijah to dislike or look down on her to an extent (which is honestly how she's been conditioned to feel like with anyone ngl but she's Especially feeling it after his "something you like" line heeheehoohoo!) — his own opinion of her is totes up 2 u tho! hakuno's journey is most definitely becoming more human from the blank slate she was once was and she's oh so very human at her core, so i'm real intrigued to know how elijah would feel and interact with all that!! speaking of... ELIJAH NOT BEING HUMANE IN HIS CORE IS SO INTERESTING TO MEEEE!!!!! also provides a pretty Intewesting contrast to hakuno too. i am a fool so i know thing abt elijah but 👀👀👀 am very much open to learning more via ic interactions! him telling hakuno his story perhaps...... Top 5 Cats the Musical moments AND Top 5 Cats the Musical Movie moments? 😂

tho i have to say i’m not nearly as familiar with cats as a stage musical as i am the movie. i’ve seen bits and pieces of the 98 version (i’ve seen misto’s, skimble’s and griz’s songs fully. and parts of the other songs, enough to know what they sound like. and like i watched somebody else watch the 98 version, which gave me the Gist but it’s not the same, obviously). meanwhile i’ve seen the 2019 version 3 times (been on painkillers every single time! not on purpose just amazing timing) AND i’ve watched all of the scenes over and over and analysed it to bits..... so mayhaps i’m a tad underqualified here

so i can give a top 5 for 2019 cats but i don’t feel secure in doing the same for the 98 version. BUT i will say this: all of misto’s song is amazing and “presto” hits harder than any drug. misto’s presto is deservedly iconic

okie this is gonna be hard for me. 98 the problem is i don’t have enough cuz i haven’t seen it properly. 2019 the problem is theres just too many

also i’d like to preface this by saying im at a point where i genuinely adore this movie (aware of the problems, certainly) and i can’t regard it as a bad movie anymore. last time i watched it, i was having the time of my fucking life

so the first half is misto’s song is cute and awkward (and its meant to be, i will defend this song, damn it. tho laurie cannot hold a note, aw honey...) but the second half? when the triumph kicks in? that is golden! golden i tells you! during which i am experiencing genuine euphoria. it’s all good, the whole song is good for me and i love misto so much. but like a moment during this that REALLY gets me tho is when old deut has come back and it cuts to misto looking so overjoyed and the music kicks the fuck in into triumph mode and that is the bit that makes me cry. like a laugh cry. it’s so good, so good. that shit is PEAK

i can’t pick a favourite part of skimbleshank’s song and nobody should. the entire thing is great and it pretty much plays continiously in my head. i dunno if 5 minutes counts as A Moment but fuck it all. he’s a cat that. cannot. be. ignored

griz’s song, memory, is of course amazing. i don’t even need to say that. but also like her “TOUCH ME” is so powerful it’s like all of my organs were being pulled towards the screen at once. thats the best way i can describe it. fuck me that hits like a motherfucker

okay i’ve made it abundantly clear that my love of robbie fairchild’s performance in this has evolved into uh, worshipful. love me a theatre bitch. chaotically sincere and sincerely chaotic. but i can’t just say “every moment with munkustrap” because thats so much of the movie! king!!! this movie rests upon this lovely stripy shoulders! and picking like BEST? for him?? impossible. but i will mention two scenes: the passionate and loving performance given during “old dueteromony”. the singing is beautiful and the aaaacting is lush. that bit when munku nuzzles old deut is A++++. mwah. and the other scene being his background acting during the ad-dressing of cats. the one where he’s emoting so fucking much in the background. and he’s doing that the whole movie actually but its more obvious there. i’ve been to that scene a lot and lemme tell you whatever frame you get of munku in that scene is fucking gold. special mention goes to what he does when old duet mentions the caviar. also i cannot stress enough that robbie does not blink!!! he’s a mad lad!!!!

i love all of jellicle songs for jellicle cats, great song, proper bop. and i dunno if this is my fave part but i think it deserves to be on here, i like when we get to the slow verse where its all like religious and stuff, they’re reaching up towards the everlasting cat as they sing and i think its beautiful. then these lyrics happen (and munku is guiding victoria thru these lyrics, which is nice) “feline, fearless, faithful to others that do...” and the macavity says “what”. and then suddenly the song goes back to really fast paced again. i dunno, i just love the way that part hits. i dunno if it should go in the top five, there are other moments i love more, a lot of them didn’t feel Big Enough. so they’re going in honorable mentions

i wanna give honorable mentions to

misto’s “romantical cats!” with his heart paws

“how will they be chosen?” “by singing the song of themselves, of course” i love that line because it perfectly expresses that this movie will express it’s concept entirely sincerely without a hint of irony. and i like that

every time misto and victoria nuzzle. oh and that heavy breathing held gaze tension moment they have after the bit with the dog [bleps]

misto and munku dosed on catnip cuz i’m a horny fuck, okay

munku and victoria’s lovely dance followed by misto suddenly yelling his own name and juggling. yeah that about sums it up

the little chin hold munku gives misto. i’ve seen robbie do that in other things and it’s always towards a love interest. interesting

the jellicle ball. in general. but especially misto and victoria dancing together and munku and skimble dancing together. and all is right with the world

i really like beautiful ghosts (musically and character wise. the scene itself isn’t very interesting to look at but oh well) and i especially like “all that i wanted, was to be wanted”. like for me that informs a lot of victoria’s character. that stuck with me, i like it

munku’s tear during memory

“you... are the jellicle choice” and griz’s reaction. felt that

“up, up, up to the heavyside layer!” (with the bonus that misto is lighting the candles in time with the music, and thats satisfying as heck)

jennyanydots’ eye rolly joke during tugger’s song is worth it because of munkustrap’s reaction to it. his “oh you’re so bad!” laugh followed by looks that say “oh no, i shouldn’t laugh at that, i’m supposed to be sensible. hehe”. you can tell they’re good friends, it’s endearing

SKIMBLE AGGRESSIVELY TAP DANCING TOWARDS GROWLTIGER

i can’t pick a specific part of mungo and rumple’s song but i love victoria going into silly mode, and also just mungo and rumple’s Vibes, ya know. extra special mention to victoria and rumple’s obvious chemistry

fuck it, any time misto is a klutzy endearing (not so) little baby. OH WAIT i wanna point out how fucking proud of himself he is when he sings about his family repeatedly calling him in. that is the epitome of a cat, amazing

alright so i finished up playing all of pokemon shield including the post-game mini plot, so here’s a quick fire list of all the things i liked about it and disliked about it before i go on to explain it in more depth (also spoiler warning). here we go.

what i liked:

the graphics, a little weaker in handheld form but largely unnoticeable unless you were looking for it. GREAT graphics when playing on tv mode.

the new pokemon. they were all really cute, and i especially loved the alternate forms and new evolutions of older gen pokemon.

opal, she’s hands down one of my favourite gym leaders so far only shortly followed by bede.

bede is a nonbinary icon as proven by the fact that they didn’t use any pronouns to refer to them until after the fourth gym, and the fact that when they’re in their gym uniform its trans flag colour. it may not be canon, but its canon in my heart.

gym battles are treated as they should be -- huge spectacles that gets people amped the hell up.

dynamaxing. its so goddamn satisfying to finish off a gym battle with your best pokemon as a fucking giant behind you, no matter their actual size. tiny pyukumuku behind you? badass. huge ass wailord? bad. ass. an actual baby pokemon? bad. ASS.

the wild area. introducing camping was a good system, it definitely helped a lot when you couldn’t exactly jump back to a pokemon center so you cook your pokemon some curry to revive and heal them. i imagine they took some inspiration from breath of the wild, tho i haven’t played it to really confirm.

what i didn’t like:

they cut so many corners in the game, you can definitely tell it was made in a hurry.

a minor note here, but for me i have this annoying bug that makes it so some pokemon have the exact same cry. its a sort of whooshing noise that you’d expect for a flying type pokemon, but it frequently appeared instead of well known and familiar cries. i can’t pin down exactly what the cause of this is, or if i’m hearing things wrong, but it was infuriating.

the towns are empty and barely even give you flavor text anymore. you might as well not speak to any npcs except shop keepers and named characters.

there is exactly three cute outfits and three cute hairstyles and that’s about it. i know a lot of this point is mostly about personal taste but please nintendo, we had such a good range in the previous game.

don’t explore. there is literally no point in looking in all the nooks and crannies of this game, because i guarantee that if the game doesn’t tell you to go there, then there’s nothing there.

it’s too easy. it’s....actually crazy that i’m even putting this as a point, because i’m a strict believer in making games playable for everyone. but it’s just....too much.

the cut down pokedex will forever inject salt right into my veins. especially when they had the audacity to include one of the first starter pokemon, but not the other two. charizard is an okay pokemon but its overrated, nintendo please accept that.

the plot didn’t exist until suddenly it did and then it made no sense.

i hate the fact that the team in this game were just delegated to fans. i understand the whole “fake out” thing they might have been going for by getting the player to think that they’d turn out to be bad, but no. it just sucks.

a game worth about £20 ($25) less than i paid for it. its a decent quality game, but not nearly nintendo quality.

wow this post is longer than i expected it to be already. but anyways, the rest is super long and under the cut further going into depth about the points i raised.

to start with, i’ll talk about the good points because honestly?? i really wanted to love this game. i really really did. maybe it was just the fact that at first i didn’t like sun and moon because they changed the formula so much, but it turned out to become my favourite game in the series. or maybe it was just that i don’t like being hypercritical of things i spent fifty fucking pounds on. either way, i wanted to like the game, and overall i sort of did but i sort of didn’t. lots of mixed feelings. anyways. onto explaining the good stuff. (or you can skip to “now on w the bad junk” for the bad stuff)

one of my favourite things about the pokemon series in recent times is seeing the process from 2d undetailed sprites to 3d incredibly detailed models. the most ambitious thing about gen 5 was the way the camera moved with your movements as you crossed the bridge, and now i just sometimes sit back and thing “wow 13 year old me would FLIP if she could see how good they got”. bc i kept just....admiring all the graphics and the quality of them.

2. the new pokemon. they were all really cute, and i especially loved the alternate forms and new evolutions of older gen pokemon.

definitely one of my favourite things about the game was seeing the new forms of pokemon we already knew and the alternate forms they’d take when dynamaxed. i love seeing pokemon with new types that completely flip the script, like darumaka becoming an ice type instead of a fire type. or the fact that they gave mr mime a galaran form and it actually doesn’t look bad.

i really loved that some of the galaran forms had unique evolutions, such as linoone evolving into obstagoon. or meowth into perrserker. it makes sense and i’m always super happy to see new evolutions for old pokemon, it keeps things interesting when pokemon other than eevee get new evolutions.

(tho that being said, still disappointed there’s still not another eeveelution. still holding out hope for that ghost type.)

3. opal, she’s hands down one of my favourite gym leaders so far only shortly followed by bede.

i’m not super well versed in the pokemon universe besides from gen 1 and gen 5 onwards (if you couldn’t tell), but its really refreshing to have an old gym leader that’s visibly elderly rather that just grey haired maybe retiree man. her personality was also really fun, it sort of felt like she literally had the most personality of all the gym leaders, which kind of sucked but it made me really love her character.

and bede i didn’t wholly expect to really like as much as i did? i mayhaps might have spoiled myself a little on their gym leader status by dipping into the swsh tag here on tumblr before i fully completed the game. but still, they seemed just generally really annoyingly stuck up? but something endeared me to the darl and i just think it mostly had to do w the fact that opal took one look at them and declared they was her grandchild now.

argue with me on this point all you like, but you can’t deny the fact that in CANON they literally did not use any pronouns to refer to bede until after the fourth gym. the only mention of pronouns before that was their trainer card, which i did not check because good character development should be shown not told through an impersonal medium such as character cards.

5. gym battles are treated as they should be -- huge spectacles that gets people amped the hell up.

i’ve always loved the way the league is set up, because it makes sense. the pokemon formula works and its interesting, but in previous games most people only vaguely acknowledge it as something every kid tries but doesn’t really complete. it’s already set up people love pokemon battles, there just wasn’t a spectator sport about it unless in the anime or movies. they’re just a thing that happens that none of the npcs care about.

finally its treated like the spectator sport that it should be. like,,, hell yeah,,,

(also do you think that in the pokemon universe there’s various stories/tv shows about made up kids completing the league and becoming champions? because i definitely do.)

i p much summed up most of my thoughts in this point well. but i love when pokemon are so visibly powerful. like these creatures have powers that we’d equate to actual gods like summoning whole storms, creating giant waves, create earthquakes and so much more. pokemon are so powerful and to see them become giant and have so much weight and power? its so satisfying controlling that and bringing down other giant pokemon.

i really appreciated the change that started in pokemon let’s go with some pokemon being visible and easy to encounter wandering through the grass. it makes it so much easier to search for the one pokemon that you don’t have in your pokedex yet, or if you’re looking for a specific pokemon to join your team.

i love how large and expansive the wild area is, and with the camping system you can just explore and fill out your pokedex without ever leaving if you’re fully stocked up on supplies. it makes you really believe the whole “yep this kid isn’t just blasting through the whole thing in one day”. kids sleep in tents on their journey with their pokemon and cook curry for them all. adds a nice level of immersion and convenience.

jesus fuck this is so long and i haven’t even gotten to my criticisms yet, is anybody actually reading this chunk of text??? well rip to you my friend and thank you. but now on w the bad junk.

1. they cut so many corners in the game, you can definitely tell it was made in a hurry.

they did a decent job considering it was in development for only two years w one only for the concept and the second actually making it. but they cut so many corners it doesn’t quite feel like a true installment into the pokemon universe. it feels like it was made by another dev studio rather than gamefreak. like how fallout new vegas and fallout 3 barely feel like the two installments in the same franchise.

this point sort of leads into many different points that i raised, so i’ll explain those a little bit more in depth there. but to sum it up, the easiest way to see it is just how...flat things are. if you only pay attention to the things the game directs you to, then you will not miss a single thing. flavor text is less about adding depth to the world and more just...pointless. it adds. nothing.

and in the post game when sonia gets a new assistant, even though she plays a fairly important part in the post-game plot, she doesn’t get a name nor a unique character model. she get’s a generic doctor model yet it’s treated like we should feel betrayed that nameless npc 234 went behind sonia’s back and stole from her.

OH! and i almost forgot!!!! but that one part where rose is trying to talk leon into something “mysterious”??? they straight up just used images!!!! like,,,, what???? you didn’t have time to program the minimal animations for that?? who’s fault is that for pushing the release!!! give your employees time to work at a decent pace and not crunch them to reach an impossible goal. game freak, you don’t have to release a game every november.

also p much just explain this in the point. BUT it happened all. the. time. the only pokemon i know for sure was effected by the bug was gyarados, because instead of the roaring cry i heard the whooshing sound that was probably meant to be another pokemon’s cry. it sounds wack when im saying it rn bc im not 100% convinced i wasn’t making this up, but it was the sole reason i turned the pokemon cries to get drowned out by the music and sound effects.

3. the towns are empty and barely even give you flavor text anymore. you might as well not speak to any npcs except shop keepers and named characters.

i touched on this previously in 1 but basically walking around a town and talking to npcs will not get you any interesting dialog. going into the houses/rooms, and you’ll only get one npc who’s all like “i’m brushing my hair!” and that’s about it. there aren’t any items tucked away in houses or corners of buildings for you to explore or battle people. when you acknowledge that there’s no flavor text from npcs all the towns feel practically empty whereas in the previous games it actually alive.

not to mention how little the diaglog changes? like it may just be my faulty memory at play but im pretty sure that the npcs in the previous games had more dynamic dialog in which they’d change what they said depending on your action in the town or for the plot. after a major event just happened, if you walked around and talked to everyone in that area they’d talk about it. but that happened like....once.

one thing i loved about the series was the increasing freedom in customisation of trainers. fashion kept getting wider and with more variety, clothes that were still cute and i’d frequently have about 2k because i just kept buying them. by the end of my playthrough of swsh i had almost a million saved up because i didn’t like most of the clothing options. i found one outfit and hairstyle i liked a quarter of the way through the game and stuck with it until the end. they drastically cut down on the options, and that sucked.

5. don’t explore. there is literally no point in looking in all the nooks and crannies of this game, because i guarantee that if the game doesn’t tell you to go there, then there’s nothing there.

again, already touched on this point but one example i know is this. when you go to the energy plant to battle rose, or go to the roof to battle eternus, i expected to go back to it when the event was over to see if something was left behind or because i’d been locked in a cutscene and unable to explore before, that meant there would be something now. but nope. don’t bother. even when you think you might be able to do something fun, don’t try until the game points you in that direction itself. if something interesting is going to happen in the game, i assure you they will point it out for you.

hard games disinterest me. if a game is renowned for it’s difficulty, then i will avoid it. i don’t care if defeating dark souls is a badge of honor for your stubbornness or skill. i simply don’t enjoy playing a game that makes me want to quit in frustration because i am not good at video games. i appreciated how easy the games have been in recent years because it makes it a lot easier for me to actually complete them and enjoy them, it’s why i have trouble getting into the earlier gens of pokemon.

but when it got to the point where after only about an hour or two of dynamax farming, by the time that i got round to the championships i was literally one shotting every single pokemon. even when i didn’t have super effective moves. i was almost 20 levels ahead of the competition, and blasted through the whole thing in a total of 10 minutes battle time and 30 minutes dialog and cutscene time, with a 20 minute pause for a phone call.

i defeated leon with only very minimal struggle. i couldn’t one shot all his pokemon, i will admit. i two shotted them. i went into the championship fully stocked up on potions and revival items and left with all of them. none of my pokemon fainted or even sustained major damage.

while satisfying feeling that you’re op enough to utterly annihilate your opponents, there comes a point where it’s just “why bother i know i’ll win” which kind of sucks.

sorry to charizard fans, but please acknowledge that it’s overrated. its design is basic, and already has multiple different forms. the fact that they passed over the opportunity for the creativity that dynamax venusaur or blastoise could give, for another basic dragon design is so annoying.

not to even mention the fact that they didn’t even bother to keep the rest of the starter pokemon either. i vaguely remember one time some nintendo employee or big shot saying that the best thing about it is that every pokemon is at least one person’s favourite. the underused or underloved pokemon will always be ONE person’s favourite, and that’s why you can get the whole pokedex. but y’know fuck that philosophy in the name of getting the game out on time. when they could have very easily pushed the release date back. i’m lucky that most of my faves got included but i know that a fair amount did not. and i’m pissed.

these two go so hand in hand, that i’m taking the time to address them together considering in every single previous game so far the team has had some HEAVY influence on the plot in one way or another. they’re always linked to the legendary pokemon of the game and they’re always included in the overarching plot, either by driving the player to act or subtly there.

i kept seeing team yell show up and trying to work out how they were going to join the plot. were they a cult doing Science Shit in the background trying to revive the legendaries? was marnie the leader of this cult and going through the league to distract people from her totally devious going-ons? or would it turn out that marnie though the team harmless but really it was a front for her relative’s secret cult?

nope!!! they were annoying roadblocks who added literally nothing to the plot.

and when i realised that, it was the seventh gym battle and so far the only plot i’d glimpsed at was the mysterious explosions in hammerlocke city and the overarching tale of the sword and shield that had been obvious since literally the first time sonia started to talk about it. there had been no plot. there was literally no plot other than the gym battles which sonia and leon specifically called out to “leave this to the grownups, you two just focus on the gym challenge”.

and when i got my eighth badge and was completing the equivalent of the elite four, i was still confused as FUCK because where the hell was the plot???? and then the whole weird ass “we have to save leon” from a meeting with.....a chairman? how about you wait just an hour jfc it’s not that bad? he’s not being held against his will? the chairman wasn’t doing anything obviously evil or even hinted at?

the whole thing was vague and rose’s motivation was just ??????? i don’t know???? i still don’t exactly know what the whole deal was. it came out of nowhere and made. no. sense. it had completely lost me. along with the fact that they were suddenly introducing dynamax raids like we hadn’t already been doing that so many times in the wild area????

which leads me to my next point.....sigh.

10. fucking. swordward and shieldbert. i???? literally. have no. words. (i do but they’re super long so hmmm down below)

first things first, is that i hate everything about these characters. from their names, to their designs, to their motivations, to how they’re handled in canon. it was shitty and while i had fun playing with the whole “this is what a champion does after they beat the previous one” thing, it was just in general really bad.

like, i cannot get over how shitty their designs were. their hair was literally a sword and a shield. i kept thinking “wow swordward has a penis head that wiggles when he moves” and couldn’t take a single thing he said seriously. i literally wanted to weep at the horrible character design.

not to mention the suddenness of their whole schtick. “yeah we’re royalty and we’re “”””CELEBRITIES”””” even if none of you have heard of us”. like what????? the fuck????

it just sort of pisses me off to an astronomical degree that this low quality shit was jammed into a pokemon game when they were getting so good at storytelling. it felt like game freak were hammering me with a club while singing “YOU PAID 50 WHOLE POUNDS FOR THIS IN PARTICULAR!!!” like,,,, thanks. thank you. thank you for waiting until after i’d finished the game to really hammer home that point.

which somewhat leads me to my last point that really just sums up the majority of my thoughts on the whole game:

if i knew what i knew about the game know, i wouldn’t pay fifty fucking pounds for it. it physically pains me to spend more than £30 in one sitting, that i actually winced while i was buying it even though i was being 100% optimistic that i was going to love it. at most i’d pay £30 for it, but only then. it’s a good game to really distract you and power through but other than that, i don’t see it as a game i’m going to come back to so i can complete the pokedex and i certainly am not going to buy the other game so i can play it again unlike how i’ve done in the past with my favourite installments.

maybe i’m just picky, or i don’t buy games often enough, but i really would not classify this as a quality installment in the pokemon franchise. if you get a free copy, or just the opportunity to play it for a few hours then fine it’s a great game. but not quite something you should want to spend your money on. but don’t pirate it. that’s a fast way to get bugs.

to sum this whole mess of a post up: immediately after finishing the game i said to myself “now time to go play a REAL pokemon game” before booting up pokemon moon.

1. Who is your favourite character in 2? Well that one is easy as hell. Lucas Lallemant, without the shadow of a doubt. I just adore that boy... I really do believe that he’s the most developed character of the whole skam universe. Also, i relate to him so so much, being parisian and 17 and queer and just, globally similar. And that Acting (TM) sure helps (will i ever be over axel’s acting? I dont think so)... I am gonna stop before i write essays (you all think this is a joke but i actually write random stuff about Lucas when i get bored in class, thats how bad it is). I just really love this boy folks...

2. Who is your least favourite character in 1? Well that’s an easy one too. Vernon Schillinger, because he is a neonazi, which is enough. And he is just plain BAD (rapist, murderer, coward, blackmailer... you name it)... And it’s not even a love hate situation, i despise the guy so much, he makes me wanna crawl off my skin whenever he is on screen. Also i think he’s quite one dimensional which is very weird for that show but yeah. He is The Bad Guy.

3. What is your favourite episode of 4? Well that’s a harder one lmao, because you know, the show has been going on since 1963, which means i have many many favourites... Imma go only with reboot, cause thats the one i know better and i have to say it’s the one i enjoy the most. I think my all time fave is the two parts one, The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances, because those are just so perfect in every aspect imo. But i also love love love the library arc from season 4 (i think lmao) because KUDOS FOR MAKING US INSENSITIVE ABOUT A CHARACTER’S DEATH ONLY FOT IT TO KILL US LATER (and overall the episodes are so so good). Also, because i’m a hoe for big dramatic moments, the episodes with the Master (end of s3 and end of s4 mainly, i dont really like Missy) and the two parts The Stolen Earth/Journey’s end (i remember being so hyped by all of them squading up). Also, it’s not an episode but it deserves its place there: the entire season 6. Because Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Alex Kingston and Arthur Darvill are just so good. I didnt really enjoy seasons 8 to 10 (even tho i adore Peter Capaldi), but season 7 also has some that i loved (Angels in Manhattan and The Name of the Doctor killed me). And the 50th anniversary. I MEAN THIS IS COMPLICATE I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH IT HAS SO MANY GOOD EPISODES (and it’s the first show i got obsessed with so theres that)

4. What is your favourite season of 5? I think i’ll go with season 2 (?), because i love the og squad and they were all in it in s2, and i think the arcs were done really well (and the last episode, haha, me dead)... S3 and 4 i enjoyed less cause i think the teams didn’t really work without Tosh, Owen and Ianto... I couldn’t really find that magic again (and yes i’m still bitter).

5. Who is your favourite couple in 3? It’s hard to find ALIVE people to form couples with lmao so i’ll go with one that is in kinda stand-by... it’s complicate... Rick and Michonne cause i loved how they were best friends first and how their whole story was built... It made a lot of sense to me. Also i love the show less nowadays but i think those are still strong characters (minus Rick now lol)

6. Who is your favourite couple in 2? I had to snort. I know, it’s going to surprise you all, but it’s Manon and Charles OF COURSE. Kidding (pls. break. them. up). It’s Eliott and Lucas (how many of you all are surprised) because. Do i need to explain. Just. Everything. I can’t even put it into words. they’re just a perfect match and so in tune and so in love and i should stop now but i won’t so i’m sorry. I love how they complete each other and understand each other, and i loved how Lucas made Eliott’s dream real (polaris), and i love how they arent perfect yet they learn with each other and they make each other better . I love how cute they look and how in love and how raw. I love the way Lucas’ voice softens when he talks to eliott, and the way eliott’s eyes are so full of wonder. Also the way they fight sometimes but always come back to each other and love stronger. And their ship names literally means “chosen one”, how could I not ship? LISTEN THEY JUST FIT OKAY AND I WONT TAKE ANY CRITICISM

7. What is your favourite episode of 1? oh god i don’t remember them all at all lmao but imma try to come up with one (not 22838 like i normally do). So i’d say 4x11 (revenge is sweet)?? but honestly the show is so continuous that its hard to choose one ep... id say s4 is my favourite hands down though

8. What is your favourite episode of 5? YES THAT I CAN!! it’s from season 1, even though i love s2 better overall, Countrycide. I loved everything about that ep, and it still sends shivers down my spine when i think about it. 9. What is your favourite season of 2? Another easy one! Season 3, as my entire blog can attest. It’s just. A masterpiece. That’s it that’s the post.

10. How long have you watched 1? I bingewatched it in like two months (cause i had to take breaks because school) in 2016. It’s a show that ended around 2000 so it’s not like i HAD to wait, and the episodes aren’t really stand alone so i had to watch them in a row.

11. How did you become interested in 3? I started watching with my dad because he is a cinephile that shows me loads of movies and tv series, then showed it to my mom. And now my dad stopped watching so i watch it with my mom exclusively even though i dont enjoy as much as i used to (still love it though).

12. Who is your favourite actor in 4? Matt Smith (even though i adored Eccleston, and couldn’t appreciate Tennant’s AMAZINGNESS cause i was too sad to see 9 go aoimjdk). But Matt Smith is the funniest, most Doctor-ish one imo.

13. Which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5? This is gonna sound like a betrayal to shows i’ve watched for so many years but Skam France, hands down. (i’m obsessed okay)

14. Which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3? 3 because it has more eps and i’m caught up with both, so logically its 3.

15. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be? Umh i think i’m kinda similar to Clara in some ways (?). Maybe. Like in the way we’re both hopeless romantic in search of an adventurous life. Plus, she is a lgbt+ icon and you can’t convince me otherwise so there’s that. i mean i think i globally identify with companions cause i wanna be them so bad lmao (imagine how cool it would be for my nerdy self ugh). But i look like a Sontaran so. Mayhaps i’d be one of those instead

16. Would a crossover between 3 and 4 work? umh that’d be funny as hell. The Doctor just jumping in a zombie apocalypse. Though i think they’d find a way to stop the apocalypse, so the second show would be annihilated by the first one. Mmh. Interesting still, up for it (i’m up for anything tbh)

17. Pair two characters in 1 who would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple? That’s the hardest one i had to answer GOD. I’d go with the crack ship, Ryan O’Reilly and Miguel Alvarez, tho they would both kill me and then burn my body if they ever saw this

18. Overall, which show has the better storyline, 3 or 5? Weeeelll i think The Walking Dead used to have an amazing storyline (the Governor’s arc was spectacular), but now i’d go with Torchwood cause sometimes (a lot of times), shows that don’t try to make it last for ages tie everything better. And Torchwood did tie things well enough imo (even tho i’m forever sad and bitter)

19. Which has the better theme music, 2 or 4? I don’ think Skam France has a theme music?? more like soundtracks (amazing ones)??? But i mean even if it did Doctor Who would still win cause the themes are fantastic (yes i went there)

You’ve unleashed the beast js.

What I like about them

What is there to say about Becky Lynch except that I love her? And of course there’s more to it than that. There’s something about her that I find so endearing and so wonderful and it just makes me want to be strong for myself, as she had been for herself. Gosh, this is gonna get a bit personal but she is rly That Great and she brought me back to wrestling back when I quit some years ago. She made me care about women’s wrestling again and she made me believe that anything is possible.

She is a great role model and she inspires me to achieve anything, she makes me want to believe in myself and she is a fantastic human being in every sense of the word. I love her punny jokes and I love Becky with the good hair. She’s rly got her head on her shoulders (pun vERY INTENDED) and I think she’s someone that has made a big difference in my life. She inspires me to want to do wrestling and she has helped me focus on myself in terms of nutrition and exercise. I think a lot about some of the promos she’s made (”I fought to be a champion”) and they motivate me to be the best person I can be tbh.

But I love her character (even tho lately it has been a liiiiiiiil much) and I love that she wants to give everyone a fighting chance to take on The Man. I love her tough exterior and I love that she owns up to her faults and her journey to get to where she is now. She is a genuine fighter who takes no bullshit and she is by far one of the best wrestlers on the roster and in the history of the women’s division.

She is truly The Man :)

What I dislike about them

As I said before, she can be a bit much sometimes when she’s on Twitter. I sometimes wonder if this will lead into her becoming a heel again with the way she’s been presenting herself a la DBry. It would be rly interesting to see that play out though. Either way, she’s The Man and she says what she wants! Her ultimate goal is to stir shit up and I’m for it (so long as it isn’t harmful).

Favourite moment

Her winning at WM was great. It truly is up there with so many other moments, so it’s prob no.3. Her moment in the crowd with her bloody broken face is also such an iconic moment as well, it’s very much no.2 for me.

However, I gotta admit that the very first time she turned heel at Summerslam was my favorite moment of all time. Yes, it beats the previous two for the simple fact that I knew that what I was seeing was special the moment that it happened. I called it too. I knew she was going to turn and all the signs were there, but the moment of anticipation, where you rly weren’t sure whether it was going to happen or not--and then finally having it happen--was AMAZING. That was when the Becky we knew and loved was gone--if only for some months--and we as the fans really weren’t sure what was going to happen next.

But goddamn... the slap, the hits, the raising of the belt. “This should be mine!” God, that was perfect. And then she proceeded to wreak havoc on Charlotte and dismantle what was arguably a toxic friendship to begin with, by becoming her own person.

Then she walked away, angry and unassuming, even after being interviewed in the back. We truly didn’t know what was going to happen after this.

But I remember being glued to my screen and keeping myself updated for whatever was happening between Bex and Charlotte’s feud because I was that invested, as I’m sure a lot of people were.

That moment made me stay to watch wrestling again.

Least favourite moment

“I’m gonna hit you so hard Alexa will go out injured again.” Mostly b/c of the outrage that ensued afterwards. I just wish it didn’t happen.

Also, that dumb injury storyline after Royal Rumble. Super unnecessary.

OH and that stupid kiss during Royal Rumble 2016.

OHH and all those times she lost at MITB. Pretty much every match where they made her look like a bozo. But we never would have gotten Heel!Bex if it weren’t for those so mayhaps I can forgive it.

A situation with this character that I want to see explored more

Ronda vs Becky. It needs to happen.

the comic has a heavy emphesis on 'laws' what with insos laws being common webnovel tropes she abides by. i think it would be very interesting for them to forgo the gods and go straight into a sci-fi isekai. that would be a lot more inpersonal and it would make it a lot more tragic seeing as theres no higher being to appeal to. you just have to hope and pray the universe wont correct itself

narcisa (who mostly goes by cici but if u dont do nicknames then narcisa is cool too) is ofc from a wealthy family. her parents own a whole bunch of resorts n hotels all over the world but prefer to stay where they are for the upper east #lifestyle. they’ve always been a very close n loving family n cici is definitely a warm n loving person as a result of their nurturing, but that doesn’t mean the expectations weren’t high n she’s also the result of that.

her parents (tho already born lucky) were both very successful very young and cici has always been like yep ! that’s going to be me ! her whole life, she’s always done the most to be the best at everything. it was never about showing other people up either ? it was more like “oh well if i can stay at the top of the class surely that means whatever i do next is going to be an instant success” bc she’d never actually witnessed failure of any kind in her life, it was always like a boogeyman of sorts as opposed to something that happens every now n then. she’s never done anything underhand to guarantee her success tho, she's always just been very dedicated n poured her heart and soul into everything she’s ever attempted. if u don’t get it yet, she has to be a standout. failure is 1000000% not an option... like relacks...

up until abt six months ago, she was studying strategic communication at columbia and she really did love it until she ruined it for herself by being too all work and no play about everything. she was consistently top or v near the top of her class and spent all her free time volunteering n networking. so here we are... she’s stressed trying to be perfect n has not released any of it over abt a year ? she stumbles once during a presentation, hears someone in the back laugh (even tho it probably had nothing to do with her) and ? she snaps. this wasn’t the first time smth like this has happened as a result of all the pent up stress n anxiety but it was the worst. she’s actually wailing and throwing things, a chair makes it through a window n there’s even a rumor (just a rumor tho) that she tried to stab herself in the neck with a pen UMMMM

her parents forced her on a three month vacation while they tried to clean up the mess but ? they really could not. the school ‘asked’ that she not return bc yk... she got pretty dangerous at the end there and no one wanted to take her on. when she came back all bright eyed n bushy tailed they just couldn’t handle letting her down (or obviously risking another breakdown) so they paid a celebrity pr company to take her on as an intern. she knows her father’s connections landed her the position, but she’s programmed herself to ignore that. she aced the interview and she works hard. she’s the perfect employee, but her reputation is still a mess so her father is actually... paying her boss a whole lot to mentor her. cici doesn’t know this n if she did ? naught good.

anyway ! that’s where her life is at now so let’s look at her personality... these will be much shorter n sweeter i promise !

like i said... she’s very warm and loving. she’d be the mom friend if she wasn’t so needy herself.

obviously she’s constantly taking on a lot and getting herself worked up, she bottles this up completely and handles it herself for v long periods of time before throwing a mcfreakin’ tantrum. so far nothing compares to the columbia one tho... she normally just cries and tells u about all her problems in a very dramatic fashion for an entire weekend before getting up on monday n moving on as if it never even happened.

is really good at pretending things don’t exist. like if she seems unbothered by the jokes ppl make about her hulk performance it’s bc she fully works hard to pretend that it never happened. she’s not crazy, ur crazy. as long as she’s not having a bad day, she’ll tune it out and go about her business.

doesn’t really do or get jokes. like if u see any kind of sense of humor present in cici ? congrats ig she’s probably in love with u.

is a hopeless romantic unfortunately. if she’d had enough time to get her heart broken over the last few years, it probably would have been crushed twelve times over bc that’s the kind of person she is.

is cool and competent even tho she is so sensitive. she’s v dedicated n loyal... talented... maybe not socially smart but still very intelligent.

intense. still refuses to take a break. needs a massage. lighten up, damn !

1. Which 3 members of Ateez would you get on well with the most, and why?

im almost 100% sure id get on well the most with hongjoong. i think its because we’re both scorpios and i get on well with every scorpio i know (im not an astrology expert tho lol). imo hes a very opinionated and thoughtful person, so we’d have a lot of deep talks, which we’d both enjoy. also i think our humor might be kinda similar, so we’d always laugh at our own jokes even if no one else understood. oH and we’d be able to comfort each other in the best possible ways, since we’d always sort of know, how the other one is feeling. next one is yeosang. (again, i get on well with geminis irl hehe!!) i think we would enjoy each other’s presence a lot, even if we were just silently sitting next to each other. i have the feeling that he’d always be there for me and he’d never get angry at me if i behaved like an ass. and the third one that im gonna mention is mingi. i feel like he would always make me smile without even trying, and thats something i adore. he’d be my happy pill and i would be the one who would bring him down to earth.

wow thats an interesting question!! i’d watch some psychological thriller/drama with hongjoong, bc i feel like we’d love to discuss our thoughts abt the movie afterwards.
