Hey so, you know how the old man in A Link Between Worlds is actually a secret super boss??
You know how he uses all your equipment???
Did you know that the Hero of Legend's actual Hero title isn't the hero of Legend but actually "The Legendary Hero"????
Tumblr media
Huh.
I'm doing research for a video and it's going very well :)

i'm about to throw hands with this yt poll.
Tumblr media
this is the zelda version of that twitter butch post to me.
#the best zeldas arent even here!!! if og 'i was like 8 y/o when i SHATTERED the triforce and hid it ALONE in a monster infested land' zelda#and st 'the only one with a character arc u see play in real time & goes from i'll wait here to i will STAB malladus with my own 2 hands#and alone if i have to' zelda were here they'd obliterate the competition. maybe not in votes but just in terms of correctness#BUT EVEN IN THIS CASE. ur not voting for ms. 'i saw my family home and kingdom be systematically destroyed over the course of 7 years &#stood back up said no & changed my ENTIRE self to try to save everyone largely on my own for 7! years! as a child!! only to at the end of#it all be the only person who can truly empathise with the hero who had his childhood stolen from him and return it even though i will#never have mine again'????????????#or even ms. 'i was normal & happy & loved until i wasnt and i learnt i was the orchestrator of my own and everyone else's misery because im#not even myself & im so much bigger yet lesser than who i thought i was and if i cannot be divine then i will be less than worthless i will#be a blight who couldnt execute the plan i had tossed everyone into and they will have lived in my lie and died for nothing so i will be#divine even if that means sealing myself away for an eternity. even if i will never know happiness the way i did again'????????#i cant say anything about twipri. i barely remember her bc i watched that playthrough ages ago and she was barely in the game idk what ur#voting for#but botw???????? /BOTW/?????????????????#girl wasnt even the best princess in her own game and she only had one other competitor smh#(<-THAT'S A JOKE. THAT'S A JOKE. I AM JOKING.)#this whole thing is half a joke. i love botw zelda (dont look at me like that. i do) and i get why she's winning but like. come on. that's#way too big of a divide. how are oot and skysw losing that much. botw zelda's voice alone should have cost her half her votes#WKSHDKSDHKKA#anyway this whole thing is for funsies so dont be weird on my post ok <3? ive had a shit three days and if being fake mad at a silky video#game poll makes me laugh then that's fair ok? and if you're weird i have the license to explode you with my mind and curse your family for#3 generations ok <333?#freya talks loz

ok since tears of the kingdom is coming out like. insanely soon i figured i’ll just dump how i’ve been feeling abt it here. i wont tag for them and i dont intend to share any but because i have been actively seeking out spoilers i will vaguely reference them here so… idk really long musings on this game and my feelings abt it
(im just writing this out mostly for myself since i really kind of just. want to really figure out how i feel about this)
i… am not excited for totk?
i’ve figured out a bit ago that my severely waning interest in botw and general anxiety and discontent surrounding totk is just that… these games arent for me. i dont enjoy open world games with half a million things for you to do like it’s basically a sandbox. i struggle to really enjoy singleplayer minecraft. the space stage in spore gives me genuine anxiety, both when i played it as a kid and again when i reached it as an adult.
botw and totk are not games for me, and that’s cool. i’ve figured that out.
so why am i getting so damn anxious about this new game?
i am getting totk- not entirely of my own volition, i live with someone who is very genuinely excited for it, so it’s pre-ordered digitally on our switch. i am going to play it and complete it at least once.
the gameplay and world of botw never really got to me, and even what snippets of gameplay i see for totk dont really entice me. it just makes me anxious to think about the sheer amount of new stuff i’ll be dropped in the middle of and how i really dont care about this version of link or zelda or anyone else in botw’s hyrule
and some of the story spoiler stuff and general direction this game is going in has me just worried that the zelda series is moving away from what it used to be into an entirely new direction, that being a direction that it seems like i wont enjoy as much as everyone else seems to
so then i guess my main worry outside of totk is that i just end up struggling to really feel connected to the rest of the community about this? being a contrarian is fun until everyone is enjoying something you for some reason can’t get yourself to
i dont have a lot of hope in the story of totk to harken back to… ANYTHING of worth that past games have built up and made to be so important and interesting. hype is a dangerous thing for a not-yet-released game, and while i think the insane amount of speculation and theories and hype around totk will cause a lot of people to be disappointed with the final story, i dunno if i really wouldve liked it even if the story actually piqued my interest
maybe totk’s gameplay will really hook me. maybe i’ll enjoy the massive open world and gmod-ass gimmicks. but what ive seen of the story makes me less interested and the snippets of gameplay i see just make me remember how bored i now am with botw
at the end of the day this is just a video game with tags on this site i can blacklist and videos i can ignore and lore i can brush aside because at this point loz canon is a suggestion more than anything
i just cant shake the discomfort of once again being an outlier as everyone i see loses their mind about this new game while i just feel overwhelmed by it. i have played botw for a long time and have long since worn it out. i played age of calamity to completion and have not touched it or cared for it beyond the music since. i am not excited about totk and i feel like i am in the wrong due to my opinion
#salty talks#kinda personal? just angsting abt totk and being a lil negative abt it#at this point im not expecting it to blow me away. i no longer have fun playing botw. i do not care for the story or characters#this if anything is to soothe my nerves and is for the sake of my own wellbeing to articulate how i feel about this#it is cool to like. put your feelings into words. this is a lot more eloquent than ‘i miss linebeck’#it feels kinda selfish to bitch abt a game thats not out yet and complain abt it not seeming enjoyable to me#but it looks like a genuinely good game. but its not for me. and thats what im ruminating on here#like i love linear stories games that limit you and fun little gimmicks and characters with complex arcs and all that#i played a little bit of skyward sword earlier and was finishing up the cistern dungeon and was so delighted to see the main statue lowered#i love the dungeons with gimmicks that flip everything around and force you to really think abour your next move#im excited to reach the water temple in oot again to swim around and tinker with the water level#i cant wait to finish oot and move onto mm and its wonderful gameplay and areas#id love to revisit albw and get back to playing ph (and maybe finishing triforce heroes idk abt that one i just want the linebeck outfit)#i played botw for like ten minutes a few weeks ago and then put it away without a second thought#so. if anyone wanted to know how i feel abt totk. its a bit alienating#i might blacklist every variation of ze/ink tbh. sayonara you weeaboo shits and your bland fucking milquetoast ship thats kinda irritating#i may delete this bc it errs on the side of being too personal but i really just need to write this stuff downh#anyways. going back to writing my thing abt my oc n linebeck hanging out and being gay

Why are the oracles in OoA and OoS named after the golden goddesses? Are they actually the goddesses or just normal people or what?
Interestingly, the Oracles games are among the rare few entries in the Zelda series where you do (probably) actually hear directly from the goddesses! And with that being the case: the Oracles are expressly NOT the golden goddesses that they are named after, though they do have some related powers and may have some other connection.
Each game starts with Link riding his horse across Hyrule, then entering the castle and paying the Triforce a visit. This isn't really explained, but uhh just go with it.
Tumblr media
The Triforce canonically has no will of its own, so it can't really be responsible for this next part, but SOMEONE then tosses our protagonist through space and time (seen below in a flattering cartwheel), and tells him, "Accept our quest, hero!"
Tumblr media
Given the origins of the Triforce, the use of "our" and the meta knowledge that Hylia had not yet entered the Zelda canon, this definitely seems like it's the Golden Goddesses speaking! Which is I think the only time anyone directly hears from those goddesses in the entire timeline? Except maybe also in A Link to the Past, if we interpret the Triforce scene as also being those same goddesses speaking. Either way, the Hero of Legend sure is something special!
Anyway. Point is, shortly after this happens, Link meets either a dancer named Din or a singer named Nayru, and they act like they're only just meeting him for the first time. Except it's not an act, or if it is, they're super committed to it. They do recognise Link as a hero based on the triangle on his hand and based on his actions, but there's never a big reveal of them being the ones who collected him for his latest quest. So they are definitely not the same people as the goddesses. But I also wouldn't necessarily call them "normal people"?
Nayru is the Goddess of Wisdom and the Oracle of Ages. The Oracle version has the power to travel through time. Some of that could be attributed to the Harp of Ages, but she can travel through time even without it. This might also explain how all three oracles also show up in Minish Cap, several hundred or thousand (?) years earlier. Idk.
Din is the Goddess of Power and the Oracle of Seasons. The oracle version can change the seasons at will, and just the act of capturing her is enough to throw the seasons into turmoil and to make the Temple of Seasons sink into Holodrum's version of the Depths (which, by the way, is heaps cooler and involves far more dancing than Hyrule's version).
Farore is the third oracle you can meet, and the one who manages to evade capture. She is the Oracle of Secrets, meaning you can whisper cheat codes to her in order to hack into the fabric of reality (i.e. the linked game mechanic). The in-world lore explanation for this is uhh... not there? Idk. Makes sense that the Goddess of Courage gets an Oracle with as much chaotic energy as her hero.
They're all implied to be special in some way, along with Zelda as the final piece of Twinrova's ritual intended to revive Ganon. But they're not goddesses as such. Especially since the goddesses are actually present in those games, for once.
Hope that answers your question!

analyzing the adjuration ravio board
ALRIGHT MOTHERFUCKERS SIT DOWN SHUT UP WE'RE GOING OFF 4 CUPS OF WATER AND A MIGRAINE BUT WE ARE GOING TO COPE
i unfortunately have an abysmal zoom so i've Enhanced the writing for bits I couldn't quite read but anyways LETS GET INTO IT. WITNESS THE ANALYSIS FROM AN IDIOT WHO BASICALLY ONLY KNOWS THE LORE OF FOUR SWORDS.
@not-freyja hi i hope you like this insane loveletter to adjuration (idk how else to. share it. yay)
Tumblr media
alright starting off with the timeline and all the looping fuckeries (motherfucker got more arrows than an ikea checkout lane)
time is scratched out and replaced with sapling. because of the war of eras? nickname yipee?
the music notes linking time to wind must refer to how the song of time sent time back and left that timeline w/o the hero's spirit
the triforce linking legend to time has to mean something but my minimal zelda lore knowledge is leaving me to die. ik its the downfall timeline, so is it a reference to how the triforce got Fucked Up by pig man? did it get messed up??? never actually played cards meaning to learn /reference
there's so many scribblies around hyrule (i love the hearts on the 'i's its adorable). hyrule found the book and thats why he gets loops?
[ hi revision glowmin here. had a thought: what if there's multiple timelines that branch out from when rulie first used the book. what if the first visit wasn't legend. how many fractured timelines could that one event have caused ]
from chapter 49: “So this entire situation is Rulie’s fault?” Twilight’s side moves as he talks and Hyrule leans away from him, falling into Wind instead." haha no don't dump all the fault on hyrule you're so sexy aha /reference
'dink does something fucky' has me cackling. is wild's existence caused by dink? three question marks, 3 parts of the triforce, mmmm that is cooking?? or could just be irony
that line also points to rulie again so i Think this has something to do with. the blood curse. that i only know about from fanfiction.
ALSO THE LINE CONNECTING RULIE TO WARS!! IS SCRATCHED OUT!! (also from chapter 49: "Dead, lightning bug,” Ravio soothes. “He’s dead, you killed him.”)
Tumblr media
who's dink is it anyways
the line about four's shadow has me. okay listen i don't remember the chapter but i KNOW there was a line abt the yiga talking about a small town forge. is that four's home from minish cap.
bc back when they met ravio the first (? i forgor) time, ravio told four to remind him about some dark magic (??) book. i thought this would be to revive shadow. is it. is it to revive red instead??
i am not okay abt red death
okay back to the flowchart: shit they haven't been to skyloft yet. i did not realize that until now
'palace' you mean the fucking TONGS FOUR SWORD PALACE??
the line drawn to the underlined dark link beneath time: 'hylia said "mouth of the river". i think this could either be time or sky. time bc he breaks the timeline into 3, sky bc he literally got cursed for being too cool
rulie: i am going to fucking SCREAM. the line from cia to rulie has 'why' written next to it and that's what i wanna know!! 'not safe' is in a fucking box!! underlined question marks!! ravio bbg please.
oh and 3 x's but idk if thats more triforce analogy or just. there to be There
recycled ganon had me cackle. inconsistent dates tho,,, is that like. linking up to why they're going in reverse in wild's time? bc twilight is the direct predecessor iirc???
wind: i cannot read what it says next to dead. looks like,,, 'masko' maybe? evidence of there being a dark: i have not beaten wind waker yet but I HAVE got the master sword. is the time lock shenanigan at the bottom of the ocean dink's fault or the master sword's fault.
i know like 2 things from hyrule warriors: traitors are cringe and cia apparently is creepy. thats probs why talking about dark versions of him is 'personal'. i wonder what 'safe' means in this context; safe to visit? safe to rule out? shaking ravio like a paper bag.
wild drives ravio to apple juice alcoholism more at 11. it is personal is underlined. is it wild's dark? rulie's dark? why are they going backwards? are they going to show up in wild's hyrule for when he DIES because they're going backwards? bro what is up with kyle.
Tumblr media
the visits lets fucking go
WHY IS 8 VISIT BLANK. HOLUP
revision glowmin again. We’re not at visit 9. I have no clue why I thought we were there. Migraines are shit.
visits 2 and 3 being about shadow and red. dont look at me i'm crying | visits 2 and 3 are in the same order both for ravio and the links. hmmmmm that's Odd
RAVIO LEARNING WHO RED IS AND THEN NEXT VISIT HE'S FUCKING DEAD. HE GOES TO WAR AND THEN HE'S FUCKING DEADDDDD
visit 6 'got em' what did you get ravio. huh?? you silly merchant man what did you get??? it certainly wasn't bitches
this is the part of the lore board that i actually fucking. bro the circles this is running me through is insane. like how do i even analyze this its making my headache die so we're just gonna spitball.
it. kind of goes in reverse? not really but kinda?? visit 9 is first for all the links, but last for ravio. is this linked to wild's visits being in reverse?
if it ends at 9 i'm gonna throw a sock at my wall
for visit 5 on ravio's side it looks like it says pregnant. ik it doesn't but i cannot make out what it is
[ revision glowmin here again. its research. why did i think it said pregnant. that has literally nothing to do with the fic. ]
Tumblr media
crying begins because i can barely ready any of this so bear with me here (BEAR WITH ME!!)
the first like. act of the fic summarized in 1 easy (/s /lh) flowchart. they see the what? rooms? runes? ruins? rains? god i'm illiterate
starting panic for the Dark. singular. i forgor how/if they figured out it was just one.
ravio crossing out where wild should be in the timeline is sending me. i think he's got shit from all 3 timelines in his hyrule (yadda yadda A GAME THEORY) so that would explain why they all just cross each other out.
'wind said shit' that's a good observation. is this as in he said STUFF or as in he cursed and actually said the shit word. important distinction. maybe Wind says something in the war of eras??
the question mark between cia and rulie. is that dink. whats up with the question marks after hyrule. does that imply that it fucking disappears at some point?? or do they just not know
Tumblr media
the part where i think ravio's mental state went wewewewewewewwoowowwowow
'evil god hylia?' the Potential though. i don't think its gonna happen but man that'd be a twist. how do you stop the reincarnation of your lover's soul: fucking kill all of them
'evil blink' is that. vaati?? nvm it says evil link i'm illiterate again oopsies!! now we know how ravio came up with dink. cooked
'inconsistent travel more than one person in control' yeah fucking kohga is in on this. drag him ravio
'resurrected monsters by blood curse/blessing' is this related to hyrule's blood curse. i don't think dink wants to revive ganon so what does he need the blood for. is he wanting to ascend to godhood?? vague sputtering sounds
one timeline makes sense when we hear abt why ravio didn't tell everyone about red's death. still sad but that line paired with 'so we keep going forward [...] no counting on do-overs [...] one step at a time [...] together [...] or not at all' really hits home.
this took 3 hours but yeah i'm Normal about this

totk spoilers
just thoughts on totk thus far
I keep seeing ppl say they've done away with the triforce in totk...but like....im 99% sure that's what the secret stones are supposed to be.
The triforce itself is comprised of the combined power of the royal 3.
But they also seem to work 1:1 like the triforce did in like LTTP.
Also there's 8 pieces which calls back to LoZ 2.
I'm not done the game yet, but totk seems to rehashing a LOT of older lore mixed with more recent lore. Notably, this game feels like its primarily touching on the first 3 games, plus OOT, with some of the better ideas from SS.
You see implications of who the gods truly are (apparently colonizing aliens who descended upon the land to mine its resources...which was something implied in SS quite blatantly???)
But it also adds context to the original 3 goddesses, implying that they had been ancient Zonai who posed as gods to the original inhabitants of Hyrule. Later becoming dragons and mythologized after thousands of years. (also me pogging that the light dragons stoney spines are the same colours as the goddess plumes!?!?!?? idk what that means but cool?????????)
I also don't know if they touch on this later, but it really seems like the Sheikah, esp the ancient Sheikah, were Hylians who specifically followed in the footsteps of the Zonai. I think this makes sense, and ties them to previous games where they were a tribe/clan/family of ninja who were closest to the gods. And since Zonai fancy themselves gods (or at least the ancient Hylians did, I don't think they were tbh) , this kind of clarifies that relationship/connection. Maybe they have a specific tie to Mineru, which would reiterate their bond to the royal family. But that might be over complicating things, since at least in botw they're just like, straight up ninja. But who knows, maybe not??
Also the young dumb idiot energy that Rauru brings is great. Big fan of young fucko who thinks he can be a good king but inherently fucks up because that's impossible, girl ur a monarch, is super interesting. wanna take him by the ears and look him dead in the eyes like, buddy you legit should not have taken those fucking stones out and just lived a quiet life in the woods...but then we'd be without a game. 🙄
I'm still collecting the slabs, the small snippets you get of both he and Sonia's relationship and characters are so fun. Sonia is also great, wish we got a bit more of her tho.
I'm really enjoying Ganondorf, he's a bit understated, but it's been interesting to see him younger than we ever have, right before the unification wars, head full of poetry and ambition. Why he green tho???????
Also really interesting how they've loosened the whole "hylia" stuff in favor for just "goddess"
Very much loving that Link is no longer a knight, but a swordsman who travels around helping people out. Total folklore/fairytale vibes, 10/10!! Also I feel like I'm connecting to him much more in this game, I really could never get behind the devout knight energy. He's a folk hero, he's here for the love of the game, and so am I!
Also mfw "Link...interesting...I look forward to meeting him." my man's been pining to meet ME for thousands of years, confirmed. I read homestuck, I know a black-rom relationship when I see one. (swooning)

I have a question. Tears of the Kingdom, final boss fight. Where are we stabbing him this time?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Personally, my bet is in the chest. It's been shown to be where the assumed strongest malice comes from, right at it's source and from the wall flash from the first trailer it shows the Hand™ attacked him in order to seal him so I'm thinking like with Twilight Princess where he was stabbed and killed in the stomach exactly in the same place where the sages stabbed him during his failed execution, that the final blow in Tears of the Kingdom is also going to be yet again going to be thematically symbolic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, related but unrelated I'm literally SO excited to see this seen above in some kind of flashback. I'm fucking desperate to learn the Zonai connection/relationship with Ganondorf that would get them (or at least one of them/or maybe is one of their Deities, either way is the owner of the Hand™ most likely) to be 99% be the ones to seal him away like this, and given the expression and body language of Ganondorf's shadow here I think it's safe to say this sealing was definitely not a willing or constentful one and giving how the Hand is now helping Link by giving/providing his new abilities and the fact dragons, the representation of courage (going from the Zonai animal statues all over Hyrule of dragons, owls, and boars that these represent the respective elements of the Triforce) are found literally on every aspect of the Sky Islands which with the confirmation in the gameplay demo that the Constructs - that are 100% pulling a Ghibli Castle in the Sky on us and said constructions set on protecting/tending to the islands - are Zonai built meaning the islands and everything artificial on them were made by them (and they're undoubtedly living also living up there maybe in an equivalent to a settlement like Skyloft) So with that, it's obvious with just how much and how many dragon imagery and statutes there are where they're even on the logo of the game, that they tend to favor courage - the direct tribute historically associated with the hero - out of the triforce. Hell, maybe even why the Hand™ saves Link from falling (but not Zelda, RIP) is because he's the hero and stopping iterations of Demise's curse is like templated to BE his destiny, therefore the Hand™ knows saving Link from the fall in order for him to grow stronger to defeat Ganondorf is a must. As for Zelda? As the goddess' blood desendant she'll be fine, right? 🙂 (guys she'll be FINE)
Idk, I just have a gut feeling that like with how Zelda's powers and role was like the major focus in Breath of the Wild that we might get more focus on Link's here and honestly? I think could very much work. Like with this iteration of Zelda and Link having fully developed characterizations together with their amazingly excellent wonderful quality relationship shown off in botw alone but I would ADORE seeing more of in totk, it'd be very much appreciated and cool.
I rambled on enough, anyway, I think it's safe to say the Zonai are on our side and drink their "fuck Ganon, the piece of shit." juice every day.

Ok I did a bit of redesigning for Four, the colors are a tad off but that's just the effect my way of using markers is tbh, and all the little headshots of the colors are the same, I'm normally happy with the colors
Tumblr media
I'm also throwing him into Triforce heroes, Vio was off doing his own thing while the others did that game, someone had mentioned a Pathfinder campaign that I think I'm going to take inspo from and like Time, Vio, maybe a Younger version of Ravio and Legend ended up in this situation. So the Pathfinder Inspo I took from is Fists of the ruby phoenix, I think this is when Vio lost his eye actually.
I'm still tagging it as Lu since idk yet but this might end up being its own thing??? I'm honestly not sure it's still to early to tell how I feel about it, I also feel like it needs a name so I can tag it better to better find it in my own blog lmao, so I should thik of that while I make Legend and Red's wild magic table
Ok so after I did that Four drawing of the Tiefling Four Mina drew it led to an actual D&D 5e au forming
So first Four! Ofc, Four's design is one that needs a bunch of work arounds because I'm not happy with it, I want to spruce it up and change it to fit his class a bit
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Four is a Battle smith Artificer who has minor Subclasse's in each of the Four colors main class (or Vio's subclass in this case) he's a half Gnome half tiefling inspired by some work done by @/filibusterfrog his tail end is ment to be shaped like that of a minish feather :) FSA and the FSA manga were two separate adventures and I'm debating if I want him or Legend to have done TFH (well legend or Red Green, And Blue, Vio would have been off doing something else)
Now we have wind! He was fun to design and come up with
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wind is a Fighter who's still learning/working on becoming a Swashbuckler. He's a Kobold that I decided are a combination of Lizard like and Dog like. His fur goes from the Blonde, to blue to white, like the inside of his ears, he has no other pattern except the color fade
Legend! I accidentally made him watermelon colored
Tumblr media
Legend is a Wild magic sorcerer subclassing as a College of Swords Bard, his Cloak was a Gift from Ravio, and his feathers come from being Fables twin brother and a descendant of Sky's, who is an Aarocacra

LU families headcanons
SKY: he lost his parents as a child. His mother didn't survive a pandemic, probably because she carried Sky's younger sibling (they didn't know the gender yet). Sky was 6 to 7. His father was soldier much like the ones who save him from falling. When the thunderhead appeared he and some others went investigating but he didn't come back. Sky was 10 to 11. Gaepora raised him then. FOUR: His parents are alive, but they're travellers, so they sent Four to live with his grandpa, as he needed a stable house, and his grandpa lived near Hyrule Town. Four has been living with him, and he got letters from his parents too. Dot is the daughter of the King, and the king is the smith's brother in law (the grandpa had a much younger sister). So, Dot calls him "Uncle". Dot and Four are relatives, as Dot is the cousin of one of Four's parents.
TIME: we know his biological parents died. He has lots of siblings! The eldest is MIdo, born during Fall about 15 years before Time. Then Saria, the next spring, and Fado, the next summer. ((The hair color indicated the season: White, ice blue, light green are for winter. Green, pink and sky blue are for spring. Light blonde, blonde and peach are for summer. Orange, red and brown are for fall )). Then we have the other kokiris like the know-it-all brothers, the shop owner and so on. His younger siblings? The twins! Those two small kokiris seem to be younger so I've always imagined them to be younger by 2 or 3 years. Their names are Lola and Lilo, no questions uwu.
TWILIGHT: ((again, my major Twi headcanon)) His father is Time. After his 2 adventures he spent time discovering himself, what he wanted to be and so on. He married Malon and finally found peace. Right when he turned 30, Ganondorf attacked. Time knew who he really was! The gerudo king just took like... 20 years to act after his failed attempt to open the sacred realm. Time fought him so he was caught by the sages and sealed in the Twilight realm, but in the adventure he lost his eye and had to use the FD mask. Then, LU happened. After the heroes went back home he found himself fighting the last horde of monsters alone. With one eye and alone he was more than lost. And Malon was pregnant. His mother is Malon and he lived with his grandpa Talon too, until he moved to Ordon.
WARRIORS: His mother and father are alive. They noticed Wars had the triforce at birth and viced him a lot, he was treated like a king. He had a sister 6 years later and noticing she wasn't treated as well as Wars, their grandmother took Linkle and raised her by herself. At the end of HW Wars and Linkle reunited! So, Wars has his parents and his little sister, the grandma died before HW.
WILD: Idk why but I imagined a whole thing for him... So he had a loving family with mother, father and... him. About 8 years later his sister was born and Wild wanted to name her "Silent Princess" but the parents disagreed. That flower is a rare specie of lily so the sister was called Lily. But then, less than a month after Lili's birth, the father and Wild saw a man interacting way too much with the mother. Wild overheard and he discovered the two had been in a relationship for over 2 years and Lily wasn't his father's biological daughter. The parents "divorced" and Wild chose to stay with the father. As Lily couldn't decide, a judge gave her to the father. He maybe wasn't her biological dad, but for the law he was her father. So Wild stayed with them and then became Flora's guard. I have a little story on how Lily might still be alive u-u
WIND: His family is composed of his sister and grandma. Idk what happened to the parents but since the grandma blames herself too much after both Aryll and Wind go away I must think they aren't alive.
LEGEND: He has lived with his uncle until the age of 11. His father is the king of Hyrule. He was only a soldier when he married the Queen, Fable's mother. They were happy, but he was known to drink a bit too much and flirt with the others. He had promised the queen he would stop, and he did stop, until he met a woman from Kakariko. Legend and Fable were born the same day, at the same hour, in the same room in a Kakariko health centre (like, hospital but not hospital) by 2 different mothers and the same father. Only Leg's mother knew. The queen wasn't aware of the situation. Since the 2 babies cried at the same exact moment, opened their eyes at the same time, fell asleep at the same moment, like a prophecy the queen thought, the boy was called Link. The king loved his son! So a house was built near the castle for him to live. Leg's uncle was a soldier too so to not create any suspicion the uncle moved there with the kid while the mother kinda... disappeared. The queen then died of an illness and her husband became the king. Then alttp happened and the young twins discovered they were more than just linked by thoughts.
HYRULE: Why would a 10 years old kid travel alone to an unknown land? His family probably died, but before dying someone must have told him his origins are in Hyrule, so he must have travelled to discover his roots. When Zelda 2 happened, Aurora (in the manga she's a kid, I stole the headcanon) found the perfect big brother figure in Hyrule, and "adopted" him as her older brother. Hyrule liked the new "family". Dawn, like an older sister and Aurora, a little sister. He was much more surprised when Impa gave him real adoption papers... Dawn and Aurora aren't related, now Aurora is related to Hyrule.

All right let's continue my original zelda story. Content warning for death and injury.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 (Other posts are tagged #cotf)
Today we get to the midpoint of the game. You know how the formula for Zelda is usually "in order to get The Big Thing, get These Smaller Things, then once you get that Big Thing (sometimes the Master Sword) then go get more Small Things for the second Big Thing" and then fight the final boss? Oversimplifying it but yeah. One more round of dungeons after this and then the final fight.
So after the first round of dungeons (And plenty of development!) we head to get the Master Sword for reasons yet undefined. Ganon sent a minion in the form of a giant snake to guard the sword and keep it out of the heroes' hands, so that's who they have to fight to get the sword.
OH this is irrelevant to the current events but I forgot to explain their group dynamics. Working idea is that Link is the main controllable character and the other two (Shei and Stella) swap out to solve puzzles/do certain actions/story stuff etc. Because it's really freaking difficult to play a game where an npc follows you around all the time, Link carries Stella in a backpack (like just as a bag of bones) and in combat situations (where id imagine npc following would be the most tense) Shei gets all magicky and starts glowing and floating. Kinda like Zelda in Age of Calamity.
Tumblr media
.....Except, Shei doesn't have the best handle on his goddess powers, so he can't really control where he moves very well. In order to remedy this, Link has to lasso him and tow him around like the Triforce of Wisdom a balloon. Actually looking that over again it still seems kinda annoying so maybe that's an event specific thing instead of being present in every combat situation........hmm im rambling BUT the point is both Shei and Stella are present and active in fights.
SO back to the story they fight big evil snake and like close to the end SOMETHING happens (gonna shoot off ideas because im not sure what it should be yet) that gets Shei bitten by the evil snake. (Like. not the actual snake itself that one's huge like it splits into a bunch of smaller ones or spawns a bunch of little snakes) Some sort of event happens during the fight that should make that unavoidable but not feel like a punishment to the player, if that makes any sense? Like I don't want it to feel like you didn't beat the boss fast enough/well enough but I also don't want it to feel like it comes out of left field. I guess I want it to feel like it had to happen and there was nothing you could do?? (Like idk the floor gives out and trips Shei or at the end of one damage pattern it flies to the side and pins him down for a moment or something like that)
ANYWAY that was a lot of rambling obscuring a very important event SO-
You do manage to defeat the boss and reach the Master Sword, but just as Link pulls it Shei goes white and crumples (alternatively: gets a nosebleed), revealing the injury he sustained during the battle.
Impa, who accompanied them because she guided them to the Master Sword (Impa pops in and out of the action bc she has stuff to do elsewhere, also known as she shows up when its convenient), uses her Monocle of Truth (oh yeah I forgot to say she had that its like the lens of truth thats why shes wearing a monocle in the picrews) and determines that the venom of the snake is full of evil power and has no antidote.
They all panic. Shei doesn't want to die. He's not ready to accept any sort of future (throughout the story so far I want to imply that he's living in the present and doesn't like to think about what might happen in the future), especially not one where he dies.
✨Circumstances✨ come up that prevent them from leaving the area (monster resurgence, rubble blocking the exit, etc.), so they can't get help (still reworking those reasons). They can move him to a different clearing (this is a forest temple kind of place) where the sun is shining, the birds are singing, the wind is blowing, and it's all a contrast to what's happening.
Eventually they figure out all they can do is stay with him (😭 forgive me im still trying to give this moment the emotion it deserves and its Not Quite There yet so this is all you get sorry-). Remember this picture that I posted a while back? @acheronspride described it as cold, and that's exactly the vibe I'm going for.
So they sit around a tree and hold each other as the venom runs its course. It takes a long time (several hours) and during that time he gets increasingly dizzy/disoriented/sick/etc. (I wanted to avoid the "dying quickly but still has enough time to say important things" and "important things are said right before dying" tropes).
That's relevant because he does have something important to say. Remember the goddess-blood essence? If he dies as the last descendant of Hylia, her power and the legacy of every Princess Zelda will be lost forever. So he draws it out of himself, but he's not strong enough to hold onto it. The GBE splits into six pieces and scatters, and the piece of it that he DOES hold on to he bestows to Stella.
I think you can guess the reason for that! Sorry for cutting it off so soon, but I wanted to delay the next portion for later. Tell me what you think?

That One Hyrule Alien Concept Except I’m Gonna Actually Write Stuff About It? Maybe? Idk
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So everybody remembers that one Zelda panel that revealed these concepts, right? I am a lover of sci-fi adventure/horror/etc. and stuff so lemme just:
For several years, Hyrule, as well as the majority of the world, remained close to its culture and ways of life. They stuck to what we would call a “medieval fantasy” lifestyle, riding horses, having knights in shining armor, using magic, etc. etc. You know what I mean. And despite all that, their technology has reached far into the future with a combination of scientific and magical traits, fusing weapons and materials into successful tools and devices. A good example is the Guardians, created by the Sheikah as battle bots.
Hyrule has maintained this way of life for tons of years, through each cycle of Triforce reincarnations. It isn’t until one day, one particular day, months after the Hero defeated the Demon King, where a ginormous UFO appears and sends missiles and plotting devices crashing down upon the green, grassy fields.
Everybody, especially the Hylians, should be prepared. But they’re not. For the technology that this UFO possesses exceeds even further than the advancements of the Sheikah, to the point where these extra-terrestrial beings cannot even be seen by the naked eye. In fact, being in the presence of these aliens for quite a while is enough to drive someone into a long coma. It’s impossible to gaze upon these aliens unless they’re dead.
In the game, you play as a young Hylian. Blond hair, blue eyes, mostly mute. You live in a world that’s overwhelmed with nature, but there’s barely anybody living on the planet. There are several unhealed craters and other damaged areas on this world. You are a reincarnation of Link. And your family managed to escape the aliens’ grasp as they plucked creatures from the world one-by-one into space, onto their own planets. You were born here on this earth, and several generations have passed before you, surviving the best they could on the limited knowledge they possessed at the time. The planet was abandoned by aliens after they got what they wanted, and who knows what happened to those they took so long ago?
In this, Link is a history nerd. He’s not strong. He’s not physically strong at all. He’s not good at fighting, he’s not agile, he’s not buff. He’s scrawny and doesn’t like to go outside. He spends a lot of his time searching up leftover scraps of mechanical parts that the aliens (and previous people) left behind and trying to take them apart, learn about them, learn about how they worked.
The turning point for the game that gets everything going is that Link builds a rocket and uses it to travel to space, where he finds one of the alien’s many planets and gets captured. He finds out that the planet is inhabited with those who’s ancestors beforehand were kidnapped by the aliens, and now, they’re living in a sci-fi, incredibly futuristic society. Are the aliens good? Bad? No clue yet. I’ll write something for them, probably.
But in summary for the three main characters:
- Link is a big nerd who can’t fight for his life, but he’s got a good heart deep down and wants to help people. He’s very booksmart, but not streetsmart whatsoever.
- Zelda is an artificially-made half-alien, half-Hylian hybrid, and she is the princess of the alien planet Link arrives at. She’s been raised to be strong, agile, and clever. She believes in order and peace, but she can be very ruthless when it comes to defending her kingdom from other planets. Deep down, she’s actually very lonely, and she wishes for some contact with others. She has a soft spot you need to hit.
- Ganondorf isn’t the main "villain” of the game, per se, but he later on becomes an (unwilling) antagonist. He isn’t from the planet Zelda rules over; he’s from another, a rival alien planet. But he escaped from it in attempts to hide; because surprisingly, he has a huge criminal record of attempting to overthrow the alien government... several alien governments several times. He’s not a bad person, but he can come off as a bit of a jerk at first. He prefers to work alone, and he’s a lot more observant than one might think. He hates feeling like he’s underneath someone else’s control, so he’ll do everything he can to get his way.
Ganondorf ends up befriending Link in this story, sort of, to work with him to try and figure out how the aliens function. That explains that one comic up in the concept art. But Ganondorf himself isn’t aware that he isn’t free from Demise’s curse, just like Zelda and Link. And him being fed this rebellious power may drive him mad. But for now, he’s just a dude on the run from several governments who also wants the best for people. He also likes metal music.

Okay so here's my very basic notes on the au!
- The Queen Zelda recently went missing, leaving the king (idk what his name should be yet) in charge while the rescue effort continues - Princess Zelda is in this au so I'm just gonna called the queen Zelda and the princess Zel :)
- The king immediately cuts off trade with the Gerudo and threatens their city if they attempt to try to trade through Hyrule
- This is extremely out of character for the King because he often used to be the peacekeeper when meetings got heated
- Drea is Link's twin sister - He was kidnapped and their parents killed when they were 11 by the Yiga because they found out Link had the triforce of courage and was a threat to the Demon King
- Drea was looked after by Impa when she was younger - her family lived in Kakariko + her mother was Sheikah
- The triforce of courage appeared on Drea's hand a few months after Link's disappearance, leading her to believe he died
- She leaves Kakariko village when she's 17 in order to pursue her "duty" as the hero - Impa refused to let her leave earlier
- The king finds out about her being the hero and basically manipulates her into serving him as a knight (not officially but yeah)
- He sends her to Gerudo Town as an ambassador to "make peace" - he wants her to kill Ganondorf
- Ganondorf is actually a good leader to his people and knows about the curse and actively tries to fight it
- I have an idea of him losing control and attacking some guards when he was younger which is when he vowed never to become the Demon King he was prophesied to be
- I have a lot of ideas for the Gerudo + the settlements in the desert so I might rant about that at some point lol
- Drea arrives and is greeted with a lot of love by the Gerudo - they can't believe the king would send someone so young (I've got a cute scene idea with Drea + the daughter of a jewellery maker)
- Drea meets Ganondorf and when all their official stuff is done he invites her for a walk around the town - she realises at this point that he's not as bad as the king made him out and she decides she can't go through with killing him
- This causes her to question everything the King told her + his intentions
- Ganondorf finds out about the plot and orders his guards to put her in a cell until a small legion of knights sent by the King arrive
- They arrive and accuse both Ganondorf and Drea of treason and attempt to arrest them both
- The Gerudo aid Ganondorf in getting out of the town and he takes Drea with him - doesn't really like her but their both fugitives so hey they don't have much of a choice
- They end out becoming very close and stick together because they both understand the pressure of being a 'chosen one'
- Maybe it turns out he knew her family + Link when he was a child so that's why he's helping her (idk on this one I need to think about it)
- Have to run from both the Hylian guards and the Yiga, who worship Ganondorf but dislike the fact he is not the Demon King they want him to be
- I do know who the "big bad" is gonna be in this au but I'll leave that a secret for now ;)
I'm not sure where this would occur in the timeline I'm thinking botw/totk Hyrule but it's not botw or totk lol so I'm not gonna bother with timeline stuff.
Sooo I may or may not have a Zelda AU idea if anyone wants to hear 👀

Note
how would he react to the first time he kills someone , with zelda in his subconsciousness ? :000
I asked for drabble prompts! (Always accepting tbh)
Warnings: Obviously character death, disjointed thoughts and dealing with... Fuck, guilt maybe? Idk Sundira’s a lil mindfucked here
Loop this for writing music
Zelda wasn’t allowed to be ‘awake’ for this.
She had tried to be, as stubborn as ever (more stubborn now in fact; wanting so desperately to help her friend in return for everything he has given for her) she was. She had tried to force herself to remain aware as Sundira crept through the manor halls; wanted to offer words of comfort, of support- wanted to make sure he understood that he was not alone, but he would have none of it.
Not only because they were lurking within what was once Hyrule Castle town (now turned into a mockery of its former bursting with life self, the undead roamed its streets while Hylian nobility ignored the cruelties inflicted upon the people all so they could remain sitting upon their cowardly asses in their pompous golden chairs) which put them dangerously close to Ganondorf (the evil man with the Triforce of Power on his side, Sundira did not want to risk him being able to sense Zelda’s consciousness within himself should he venture too near the castle), but... Zelda was not meant to see this.
She was meant to be protected; not only kept physically safe but her mind and emotional wellbeing. She would not watch the life drain from someone’s eyes; she would not feel their blood on her hands, he refused to let her suffer with him... Though as his heart raced with nerves on his slow meandering through the dead man walking’s halls, he found himself selfishly wishing that he had allowed her to accompany him up until he performed the actual murder.
Being alone with his thoughts was jarring, honestly.
He was prepared for this. He had been breaking his body then rebuilding it stronger for years now; he had been trained until he was exhausted and then pushed even harder, he felt so much older than his mere sixteen and a half years he was prepared for this. When he and Zelda had agreed they would protect Hyrule as well as herself; that they would fight back against Ganondorf however they could while they waited for their Hero to arrive, Sundira had known that it wouldn’t be easy. That it wouldn’t be without bloodshed.
He had accepted that fact then, and even now as he finally moved through the shadows into his targets personal chambers... He knew this must be done. Some lives weren’t worth protecting; some lives must be ended in order to protect others- this was just the first of possibly many, he had accepted this... Even still, being in someone’s private quarters; seeing their belongings, and even though knowing why they deserved to die (knowing the people they had hurt, knowing that they were part of the corruption eating away at Hyrule), his hands trembled and his breathing grew uneasy.
         It was nothing.
It was nothing but still he did not want Zelda to see. He had trained; he had been taught how to fight, how to incapacitate, how to kill... But he had never applied these skills to someone who was not his instructor, to someone who was not Sheikah, whom he could not almost accurately predict what they would do next- it was messy. He had not chosen poison, though it certainly would have been far easier. Perhaps they had had skills of their own, but very few Hylians could compare to a Sheikah, especially a barely trained weak noble.
The body had been left in their room; let it be known they were slain, let it be known that what the person had stood for was something to be killed over. Just as silently as he arrived, Sundira left all while pitying the poor soul who would discover the corpse... He’d need to clean himself when he was back somewhere safe, he’d known that blood tended to get everywhere when ending a life with a blade but he hadn’t realized quite how messy it would be.
What did it say about him that he was irked at the thought of it getting in his hair?
         Probably nothing good.
Just don’t thinka bout it. Everything is fine; this is one less person who can use their wealth and greed to harm those who were ‘beneath’ them, this was good in fact! They had sworn their allegiance to Ganondorf the moment Zelda’s father had died, they had sided with the enemy and they would be shown no mercy. Still though, something began creeping in the back of Sundira’s mind as he made his way home (home to the desert; not home where he had been staying in Kakariko to prevent anyone from following him to his family, thus revealing where the Sheikah’s new hidden village was located) and he could not make sense of what exactly it was.
It was no surprise that after playing the magical melody that returned him to the village he found his feet taking him to his Grandmother, their bond had grown strong in recent years and she was perhaps the person he had the most faith and trust in... Though his siblings and parents were very close seconds/thirds. She would help him make sense of this blankness in his mind; this heaviness in his heart and the shaking of his hands, she would understand...
         And she did.
It took only a single look for Illaine to know what had happened; the blood on her grandson’s clothing, the trembling of his body, the lost gleam in his eyes. She had known what his mission had been, and without a word her arms had opened and he fell into them. Neither knew how long she held him close. His braid unwound and her fingers brushing through his hair; tears falling from his eyes but yet he knew not who he wept for, her heart aching for the burdens he endured but filled with such pride at the strong resolute warrior he had become.
Not a word was said between them for a long time, and when finally Illaine pulled back to dry his tears and kiss his forehead her voice was gentle for she knew how fragile he was in this moment. Sundira had been allowed to be soft in his childhood; he was not raised as she had been, knowing that she would give her life to the Royal family one day, that it was her purpose as a Sheika and therefore being raised as a soldier, a pawn since she could walk... This would be hard on him, and she knew with absolute certainty that he would never quite recover from this, but that it would not break him.
Sundira only hoped her faith was not misplaced.

ALRIGHT GUYS HEAR ME OUT
I had this weird dream last night about zelda. but it was like........about the original link. And he wasn’t the goddess’ chosen hero. Yet, at least.
This is gonna be long so... more under the cut
You know how he was imprisoned for like 15 years because he was framed or something? My mind was like. Ok but wait. What if Hylia framed him because she saw something dangerous within him - like, unwavering loyalty or smthing. A heroic quality that could be misused were he to be misguided. So she has him framed for smthing to keep him safe and away from all potential corruption, but while he’s in jail he ends up becoming corrupted on his own bc he finds out it was Hylia who had him framed, so he wants to kill her as revenge (or at least that’s what my mind said was logical at the time, idk). And he knows she’s a goddess and there’s no way to kill a goddess, so he reads up on the triforce (i guess there are books in his jail cell? maybe he just finds out about it from his jailers) and he’s like damn. I gotta have the triforce so i can fucking obliterate Hylia. But bam, by the time he’s released by Hylia, Demise already has the entire triforce. So Link was like “....ok. Yeah, Hylia, I’ll kill him for u,” but all the while he’s plotting against her. So he ends up killing Demise, and the triforce is freed - and while hylia is distracted with healing soliders or smthin, he almost touches the triforce, but Hylia realizes his intentions in time to stop him by killing him. She realizes she was the catalyst to his own destruction and she feels regret for what she’d put him through, but she still knows the weight of what his intentions were when he’d walked up to the triforce. She decides to give Link another chance at life anyway though, since she kind of ruined his life for him by imprisoning him for like 15 years and then killing him when he’d served her purpose, but she’s still wary. She doesn’t just do it freely; she knows he’ll find some way to reassemble the triforce and use it against her, so she tethers her soul to his. She also creates a being similar to Demise to assist her in guarding the triforce from him, and he ultimately ends up being Gannondorf. Unfortunately, though, Link’s convictions must have been so strong they’d awakened the triforce or some shit, because in my dream my mind was like “it’s now attracted to him because his want for his wish was so strong.” But basically she realizes that no matter what, the triforce will wait for him to return to it to make his wish. So she decides to split the triforce up into three pieces (it’s also my headcannon that it was Hylia who did it originally.) So she splits it up. So she ends up keeping one piece, because she knows that if Gannondorf fails she won’t, so at least Link will never have the entire triforce. Then she entrusts one to gannondorf too, bc he will need power to help her protect it. and then she realizes that she still has one more piece, so she gives it to link. But here’s the kicker: in my mind, the only two that really grant abilities are the triforces of wisdom and power. They inherently raise the wielder’s trait, like hylia gains wisdom and gannondorf gains power, but they also grant magic. But the triforce of courage doesn’t do jack shit besides pulse sometimes and raise Link’s courage. So he’s forced to live with a constant part of his ultimate goal that does absolutely nothing in comparison to the other two pieces he can never obtain for thousands of years as a sort of punishment. And so for a while it ends up being Link who’s the villain of the story, until one day Gannondorf becomes corrupted too. It’s not by Link’s doing, though - he eventually starts to wonder why Link wants the triforce so badly and Hylia refuses to tell him, so he looks it up and learns that it grants the wielder infinite power. So the next life, Gannondorf takes advantage of the fact that link is still trying to get the triforce to catch zelda by surprise and try to take it for his own as well. But Link ends up thwarting him for the first time, and saving zelda (hylia.) And I like to think they get to keep their memories throughout the first incarnations; i guess that’s the only way my story would make sense, anyway. But um! Anyway. Link ends up saving her, and they’re both confused. And idk, i keep picturing hylia having a corny one liner or smthing here, like “Just like old times, hm?” and link being like “Yeah, just like old times” before walking off and waiting till the next life to try again or smthing. But from then on it just slowly starts reversing; Link ends up protecting zelda more often than he tries to kill her, and eventually she asks why. and he’s just like “if anyone gets to kill you it’s me” before storming off, but it’s only a partial truth. He still wants to kill her, but only peripherally now, because he realized that killing her would only be one thing. but what gannondorf wants is the complete annihilation of the entire world, which isn’t something link wanted. So he finds it more important to protect the triforce from gannon to stop such a thing from happening than getting his revenge. And eventually it goes from “if anyone’s going to kill you it’ll be me” to some kind of tentative friendship, where it just blossoms into romance I guess. This is probably the point where they start losing their memories of previous lives, because the triforce can no longer sense Link’s undying need for revenge, so it sees no need to keep him attached to the desire and lets him go and enjoy saving hylia every couple hundred years or smthing.
...wow that was long. whoops haha.

also i barely edited it so
OH also i didnt realize til later that i forgot zelda 2 so ill add that in another reblog
all right so we start with oot and mm because yknow, link doesnt know of the kingdom or princess yet, right? then we go into minish cap. hes known zelda for a little bit so its understandable theyd be pretty good friends at this point then zelda 1, link goes to save his friend, yada-yada, y'know? heres where it gets all murky- probably alttp now, the grandfather in the minish cap adopted him at some point earlier? and then died ig so now link lives with his uncle, who dies here. he does not have a great track record with family. then albw, hes been taken in by another smithy, yknow im thinking maybe the oracle games next, it just kinda makes sense. link leaves, intending to not return, cuz so much shit happened in hyrule. then wind waker, perhaps a village woman adopted link and aryll, maybe zelda's memory is wiped? and now she's been tetra for ever since alttp then its onto phantom hourglass, idk what happens in that one but im working on it then we get to link's awakening, and after waking up he decides to go back to shore and not sail anymore for the time being so then we get spirit tracks! idk what happens in this one either- im working on this too so then its four swords, everything goes great, he reseals vaati, he leaves hyrule again onto triforce heroes- he thinks its kinda weird and gts some deja vu upon meeting the other two but ultimately all goes well then fsa! the seal was kinda weak, they thought vaati would be weaker, yknow how it is then botw. zelda was taken in by, idk, an uncle or smth? hes the regent ig- and all the shit that comes along iwth botw gets added onto the pile then twilight princess: link decided that maybe its best he doesnt leave hyrule, not that he really remembers much of leaving anyways, but yknow, and he lives in a village uhh throws dart at map somewhere! then bo2w! the trailers show islands in the sky, right? maybe that means something! and finally skyward sword!
D’YOU WANNA SHARE AND TELL 👁👁
SURE ill copy over their timeline from discord in a reblog :)
