Ah, well, at least he’s having fun?

I managed to finish this after accidentally beating Slime Rancher last night (the credits jumpscared me lmao), and now I’m tempted to make a Slime Rancher/Four Swords AU of my own inspired by @rosescore245’s.

I think I just want the excuse to draw the Four Sword bois in various slime themed outfits haha. Red’s outfit here is modeled loosely after the boom slime itself, glowy yellow lines that dim and brighten included! No explanation for the tattoo though, it just felt weird leaving his shoulder bare.

The jacket was meant to cover it, but whatever, the others are just gonna have to be distracted I guess. They’ll live.

I really wasn’t sure what to do with the colors or background once I reached that point, but I’ve always been able to kinda just make up backgrounds as I go (still of dubious quality), so I wasn’t too worried. I think he’s in the Indigo Quarry.

As for the colors, the yellow accent was something I added on a whim and then struggled with because I can’t see yellow very well. I had to get a friend to help me out lmao. It gave me the idea to try and put yellow as an accent color in the other’s designs too if I get around to those.

I like the concept of Vio’s eyes having a a yellow hint to them as a result of overexposure to quantum slimes. Not sure yet how Green, Blue, or Shadow may have yellow on them, but if I’m really determined to use this idea then I’ll manage. Probably.

Speaking of eyes, this version of Red has permanent swirls in his eyes due to constantly getting blown up by boom slimes, I have decided. If I ever animate him, I imagine the swirls move more when he’s confused or overly excited (maximum spin aw yis). My animation skills are limited to eye’s specifically, so maybe I’ll give that a try. Same with Vio having glitchy irises.

As a bonus, here’s the backgroundless versions. The ashy version originally had a lot more going on, but the introduction of a background resulted in a sacrifice. Rip tiny fire and smoke.

i forgot to post this during june but i think one of the reasons qsmp was so important was how unapologetically Gay it was

for starters, the number of creators and admins involved who are irl queer of some variation, just chilling in a place where any kind of phobia would get Philza's legendary ban hammer faster than you could say "rainbow jelly"

and then the characters.

i remember showing up that first day and being shocked that somehow foolish had an ex-boyfriend already (I had missed the squidcraft lore apparently)

that server. gay. all the gay. all kinds of gay.

govermentally assigned platonic husbands that stayed together the whole time (despite one of them being gone for months at a time), not a chance in hell of infidelity. Proud fathers of two wonderful children.

governmentally assigned partners who yelled full volume at each other about cheating any time they were in the room together and between the two of them killed two children.

a grieving father and ex-convict becoming one of the most solid couples in the server, with a beautiful wedding and consistent public displays of affection via the in-game chat.

a demon ashamed of who she was and a lonely detective struggling with family trauma, now with a lil girl of their own, to love together and take care of, with more moms than could ever allow the little girl to ever be lonely herself.

a 2b2t warrior coming to terms with his sexuality with the support of his beautiful baby boy at his side, slowly but surely opening up to his eventual Brazilian Boyfriend. Where they went from the most cautious couple (baby steps) to the most sickeningly sweet couple on the server.

- and this list doesn't even scratch the surface.

gay characters, trans characters, ace characters, aroace characters, gender fluid characters, all kinds of relationships and families.

all presented without negativity or shame.

the point of the server was to exchange languages and cultures, without the biases and barriers seen so much in both the content creator scene and the wider world.

it also had a beautiful little side effect, practically by accident.

Just banged my head against a drawer when I bent over, which means it’s time for more improv Billy thoughts! Is it going to become a tradition for me to make these every time my head hurts instead of resting? Probably! Am I gonna Pavlov myself into associating headaches with improv? I hope not!

When he became champion, Billy was amazed by all the mythical creatures that he gets to interact with while doing his duties. Much to his disappointment, he learned that unicorns aren’t very friendly and take years of bribery in the form of sugar cubes to befriend. This didn’t stop him though and after only a year he managed to befriend one and the rest of its pack started to trust him too.

He absolutely adored his new unicorn friends! The novelty mostly wore off by then but the day he got to ride a unicorn for the first time was a truly magical day.

The only problem is, once you befriend a unicorn pack there’s no getting out of it. He’s one of them now, and unicorns are fiercely protective of their own.

Now when ever he’s in the extreme danger, a pack of unicorns appears in a poof of sparkles and beats the hell out of whoever hurt him. Billy feels terrible about it because they do NOT hold back, and a few too many bully’s have ended up in the hospital because of this.
