Modern College Student/BF Armin Arlert Headcanons

(rewatching aot and damn I forgot how much I love armin.  someone pls put me onto some good armin fan fiction?  this boy doesn’t get anough attention honestly, lemme know if you guys want me to do anyone else, im thinking eren next?)

I think in the modern world, Armin would only look at his love for the ocean and nature as hobbies.  When it comes to investing in his education and making money to support himself and his family, he’d go into a major he’s good at just to be safe.  And that’s persuasive arguments, crazy attention to detail and maybe a little manipulation for the greater good so yeah…lawyer it is 🙂

Currently focusing on political science for his BA before law school

Shares a small apartment with Eren and Mikasa cuz they all looked at dorm life and were collectively like “yea, fuck that”

Armin and Mikasa are up first every morning, and they usually share a lil breakfast together before deciding which one should dare try to drag Eren out of bed

This is where I see manipulative Armin.  He’d use his skills to convince you that you didn’t even care about what you were arguing for in the first place

So… could we get some Mr. Crowley lore…. (IM STARVED) 🙏

Of course! I’m so happy someone is curious about him! I’m not 100% certain how his story is going to go just yet, so I’ll put a few ideas as well as some traits (below the cut because it’s a lot of rambling!)

I did a couple of doodles! The first one is of course how he looks hatless, and the second one is him using his stand to track someone.

If you haven’t read the stand explanation in his debut post, basically his closed eye is useless except to track someone who’s been hit by [Snakebite]. The venom shows up to him like a heat signature and he can track the victim down as it takes effect.

(I do recommend reading the debut post, everything below this point won’t make sense otherwise…sorry 😭)

He’s a sharpshooter, and you may be thinking it’s harder for him to shoot with only one functional eye. That’s actually not the case! Competitive target shooters actually place what’s called a blinder on their gun. It covers the eye they’re not using when they look down their sights. That way, they don’t have to close one eye for a long time. Mr. Crowley usually wears his eyepatch, and he did even before he got his stand.

His coat is also functional as a shooting jacket. The straps on his arms can be tightened or moved to basically immobilize his arms in the right position to hold his gun, meaning he doesn’t exert himself as much. This can also help with aim.

As a bounty hunter, he usually prefers if his targets never even realize he was there. He will pick them off from a distance with his rifle. For close quarters he uses a double barrel shotgun, and for hand-to-hand he has a machete or other knife. He likes his marks to be quick and painless, thus he rarely has to use his stand. But sometimes the target will have other ideas.

In terms of personality, he’s definitely more reserved than his brother Mrs. Robinson. He is a deeply angry person, and usually doesn’t talk much. If he’s upset he’ll stop talking altogether. He takes his job seriously, but has a strong moral code otherwise. No bystanders will be harmed, especially not children.

He was a very caring and gentle older brother when Mrs. Robinson was born. To this day Mr. Crowley has a soft spot for children and babies. If he can help it, he will make sure they don’t have to see him kill someone. He saw death at a young age and will not inflict it on someone else. Because of this he also won’t accept a contract if his target is a parent.

I think him being a touch hypocritical is important to his character. It’s good basis for him to have a big revelation. He still has a little bit of a heart left despite being hardened.

I want him to start out working under Valentine, but later encounter something that makes him change his mind. Kind of like Diego. I think maybe Valentine sends him after Lucy, and since she’s a kid, Mr. Crowley instead helps her to safety and likely dies protecting her.

I don’t know! I’m still working it out. This could all change, but I think at least the bones of it is right. I want him to betray Valentine, that’s for certain.

I haven’t decided if he ever meets anyone from the main cast, or if he’s able to save his brother. Mrs. Robinson wouldn’t even know him due to their age gap and circumstances, so Mr. Crowley would probably just keep his distance instead of complicating things. It has been in his best interest his whole life to leave him alone. He might decide to speak to Mrs. Robinson without revealing his identity, just to see him again.

I think he will spend most of the race showing up just enough not to be disqualified. Valentine wants him to keep a close eye on the racers, but he doesn’t need him winning. Mr. Crowley will probably keep his distance most of the time to most effectively watch any racers Valentine tells him to.

Speaking of the race, I should talk about his horse. His horse is a mare, named Ligea.

(I couldn’t resist a goth music name here since his other music references aren’t goth despite the fact that he is)

Mr. Crowley and Ligea are good friends and a good team. Ligea has been trained to allow Mr. Crowley to fire while mounted or use her saddle as a gun rest. She is also trained to bite anyone but him who tries to touch or mount her.

I haven’t designed her just yet, but I will soon!

the drama has been much more interesting this season, but it’s at the expense of MC being so...empty. we truly have nothing going on, despite being a day one bombshell. if FB didn’t rush these seasons we could have a balance of the other islanders having their own relationships/drama, & MC having a storyline of her own (by that, i mean beyond “everyone is obsessed with her, just because they want to smash or they’re jealous the person they’re coupled up with does,” imagine if cherrygate or operation nope were things you just had to watch unfold in the middle of a challenge)

what the hell, they brought back outfit shaming ?? or maybe it never left, but i was gagged when it tried taking me back to the closet and everything 😭 mind you, this is a diamond outfit

this game’s code is collapsing on itself, so i assume the problem is that the halloween items are being considered the free outfit. i refuse to change, the clothes are so cute !😡 (and i desperately need more goth fashion in this game, my MC is gonna be wearing tf out of this one and the one with the sheer sleeves)

next up we have dirty laundry, MC came out unscathed, probably because i picked “getting back with an ex without telling my friends” (i didn’t like any of the options but “giving the waiter your number on a date” sent me) and sofia is truly cartoon supervillain levels of evil

but i honestly don’t understand why the reason jesse has been friendzoning MC is because sofia lied about us being a cheater. you’d think he’d just avoid MC entirely (or even be a little bit antagonistic, that would’ve been interesting.) idk, it’s just strange that he’s perfectly fine with being close friends with a supposed cheater

and LISTEN 👹 do not drag me for this luv, i already know he’s getting ripped to shreds…hear me out, i think tristan is hot in that sleazy early 2000s nu metal way 😩 his body is melting a bit (seriously, wtf is wrong with his hand) but his face is adorable, and i love to see unique islanders. with that being said, im just gonna ignore him until we know he’s actually an LI & not just here for sofia (at least it’ll give jesse a chance to pursue MC, but knowing FB, they’ll probably have tristan pick us so we can’t be with our LI for another few weeks)

OK if we're doing this i think i'm just gonna have it be we're buying into a universe where Aelwyn would find out about the clones and not just think they're all jace. To be fair I do have other characters who in my heart absolutely know about the clones and can distinguish all of them or at least some of them (Zara can tell the difference, Eugenia can tell the difference, Lucilla can sometimes tell the difference if i'm feeling shippy).

I do think she would think J4 his honestly kinda girlfail if she got to know her for real for real and a part of the reason aelwyn has a crush on her is that she's this weird object of mystery but also she's like a goth femdom who once said she liked Aelwyn's haircut in a way that was like SO offhand and in passing that aelwyn had to be lay down like I think i hauve covid. She can make excuses for J4 that she can't make for jace tho. She's like oh j4 thinks wizards are stinky? Well. Pobody's nerfect

There's a llne in Ballad of Songbirds that describes Tigris as. Like. I think it was "having a soft nature that invited abuse" (yuck! Snow pov! Evil!) and i think that's a little bit how Aelwyn sees J2. But like. That's how a lot of people see j2. Like at least jace can kinda keep up with her on a back and forth barb level and not that J2 can't but usually he won't. And I do think she sees a lot of her relationship to her own parents in the picture of what is going on with J2's Deal so she's a little pricklier with him that she ought to be as deflection b/c. I'm in this picture and i don't fucking like it. They're the first, they're the ones that have to be perfect.

If she knew him she would maybe affectionately tease him but in that way that she teases literally everyone else in her life in that she has no idea what is the level of acceptable so she's like way too mean with it and hurts his feelings. His nail polish always chipped and he wears cardigans with snags in them and slides with socks no matter the occasion. What! We're playing! You know that's not right!

J3 i could see as her thinking he is. Incredibly fun and funny but also incredibly cunty in a way that she either gels with or completely bounces off. The thing is that. Aelwyn does think of J3 as a bimbo esp at first but just like. How Aelwyn knows that Adaine is incredibly talented and never underestimated her. The thing is that J3 is kinda flighty and understimulated and noncommittal but I also think he would do well if he was given any reason to rise to some sort of occasion. He does want to prove himself, but he also is living a cursed half life and has made it his mission to suck as much dick as possible so you're expecting him to use his spare time to do what, read??? In my mind J3 is probably the funniest clone and his flirtationship with Porter was actually almost... intellectual? Before they started hooking up. The problem with J3 is that he is incredibly like "i'm so sorry I just don't get this math problem i'm so stupid can you help me? wow you're sooooo smart maybe you could tutor me in a private lesson" coded while privately seething that like half of the problems are wrong. You know him. He's Cool Girl.

Anyway. I got off track. Aelwyn. I do think she finds him amusing but ultimately kinda tiresome. But he could be kinda fun. He's more tiresome than jace in large doses but she might like him more than jaceprime anyway. But at least he can keep up with her unlike poor J2 who is very "if we're just nice to the weird mean girl who is mean to us then maybe she will be nice to us". And initially she's like oh this guy is incredibly stupid he is not a threat but is like hm. I will not make that mistake again. I also think she sees a bit of Adaine's deal wit him as the one that is neglected one to her golden child but you didn't hear it from me. Which means she ALSO would probably mock him for essentially being the brutish "team muscle" even tho he's also a spindly little sorcerer.

He also thinks her story about hitting on jawbone is extremely funny but he will deny thus it’s bc he finds it relatable. The one where he’s like “we all hurt from time to time” and she says “I’m moving”

This is my second matchup so bare with me if things are wrong. For the most part, I hope you enjoy!

Hacker:Akudama Drive

The two of you met within a group mission, both being crucial parts that needed to work together, but Hacker wasn't for the idea of working along with someone else and worked on his own things in quiet. When the mission began going south, he started to realize that he was going to need to work together even if it was out of his comfort zone.

After a few hours, Hacker began to realize that you were pretty good at what you're doing and that your work was actually useful. Shocking to most, he chooses to stay connected after the mission just in case he needs help with something. But, secretly he wants to hang out more and he thinks that you're cute… you didn't hear that from me though.

Once a year passes by, Hacker finally gets the courage to ask you out on a date, now knowing a lot about you. His preferred date night is inside, maybe watching a movie or playing a new game together. Of course if you're interested in going out somewhere, he would find some way into getting a reservation (likely hacking into the resturants database and adding a reservation in) for an expensive dinner and then taking you out to see the stars.

Hacker's not into PDA, maybe if the two of you are dating for a while he'll start feeling more comfortable but for the most part he's keeping to himself.

I feel like both of your styles would go good together, especially some of the goth ones. Hacker wouldn't be into matching outfits, but he would try and wear something similar whether it be the color or the pattern. The two of you would share music back and forth with each other, possibly even have a shared playlist for all of your guys' music. He would play music and dance around the room when he got finished with a super hard code or mission, almost like a victory dance,

Hacker would act like he didn't care about your interests and the things you ramble about, but deep down he's making sure to hear every word and remember it

An average day between the two of you is hanging out in a dark room and working on things you both enjoy, Hacker would be working on some sort of code and would ask for some advice on how to make it better.

After some time being together, I feel like Hacker would open up about his thoughts about something else being out there and how he dreams of reaching it. From that point forward, he starts opening up more to you about his insecurities and the fear of nothing actually being out there.

Kouichi Shindou: HoriMiya

You met Kouichi from your mutual friend, Miyamura, who introduced the two of you in junior high school. You weren't sure how to feel about him, but that all changed when you got to see the side of him around Miyamura, sticking up for him and helping him become a better person. Some time had gone by and the two of you were now in high school, except the two of you didn't go to the same high school. He went to another school nearby in order to get his life set together, which you're happy about until the news of him repeating his second year went around. You made sure to never let him live it down.

Valentines had rolled around and Miyamura and you were on your way home when the sounds of girls squealing were heard nearby. Across from them, the ginger haired boy tried to leave the big crowds of girls who waited for him to accept their gifts.

Watching the interaction between the two, a new feeling bursted within as you stomped over through the crowd of people. Grabbing Kouichi's arm, you drag him away from the crowd bringing him to your dorm not sure what to do next. Talking, he begins to question why you brought him to your house and away from those people, in which you let split that you felt jealous and didn't want him to receive valentines from other people

Once the secret was revealed, the two of you agreed to go out with each other and soon enough a relationship was born.

Date nights with Kouichi are outside in calming areas where he can feel free to be himself without the screaming girls always behind him. He once took you to a flower field filled with all sorts of flowers, along with your favorite. The two of you then had a picnic and stared at the stars when nightfall hit embracing the comfort of each other.

Takashi Morinozuka: Ouran High School Host Club

You accidentally ran into them when the group was going to the market and Honey-senpal had gotten lost needing help to find his friend. Lucky for him, you happened to be there to help and with a little bit of searching the two of you found his friends who were panically searching for their friends.

Enjoying your company, Honey-senpai wanted to keep in touch and invite you to one of his many tea parties with all of his sweets. Accepting the invite, that was how you met the blonde's best friend, Mori-senpai.

You weren't sure about him not knowing much about him considering that he didn't talk much and preferred to listen, but he won you over when Tamaki was in one of his moods and was throwing pillows around the host club. He got so angry that he threw one extremely hard your way, but before it could hit you Mori-Senpai caught it, saving your life.

From then on, the two of you became closer and soon enough a date is arranged between the two of you, plus honey of course. All of you went to a dessert cafe and had a blast, especially honey who ended up having a stomach ache after leading to Mori carrying him home, but that allowed the two of you to have some time alone.

Your guys' relationship was good besides the constant girls from the host club, but Mori and the host club members always made sure to stick up for you when one of them tried to tear you down.

Your relationship is usually spent with Honey and the host club, but there are some small chances when the two of you get to be alone, but it doesn't happen much. When the two of you are together, Mori-senpai listens about your day and makes sure to note everything that's said when you're rambling. He's a good listener and can memorize anything your saying. You mention something you want? He's already planning to get it. You had a bad day? He's planning to make it better.

Definitely boyfriend material and father material, I mean we have seen the way he acts around Honey.

yay tuesday is back

return of tuesday! i had two weeks in the UK which was very fun but i am definitely vacationed out - i miss my routine. longer trips like that are only fun towards the end if you have a home base that isn't just a hotel room.

listening: newest coral bones ep is very chill. it's only three songs and they're all very vibey but i think my favorite is 'seatac'. i wish they were still posting on bandcamp. alas.

finally, i saw st. vincent live in london this past weekend!!! it was a really good concert, lots of fun, interesting venue. she's definitely got an insane stage presence. the opening act (heartworms) was fun too, my brother and his friend weren't interested and described it as 'moody goth bullshit' and i was like well. that is right up my alley. you boys enjoy the bar im gonna go be moody and goth. it was good!

i think if i do standing room tickets again i need to invest in some platform shoes, at least two or three inches, because some of that was a struggle to see Anything ... i did manage to find a spot where i had a decent little corridor between heads to see the stage, however i was directly behind a guy in a bowler (?? fedora?? idfk) hat and his boyfriend who kept moving around and dancing (fine) and gyrating (also fine ?? i do not consider st. vincent particularly gyrate-able music but what do i know) so i also had to do some leaning side-to-side to see around them. one of her songs has a line about jumping off the london bridge and the way they both looked at each other and pointed gleefully at themselves while going "meeee" was very funny. i bet they're on tumblr, they had the vibes. hello gay guys at the london st. vincent concert, if you're reading this.

reading: i read 'when the angels left the old country' by sacha lamb in the two days that i was alone in edinburgh before my brother came! it was good, speedy read, i enjoyed the characters and overall conceit well enough. probably not on the to-buy list, i'd just rented an ebook for my trip.

eating: ough i ate a lot of good food in the uk. mostly the non-british food unsurprisingly but i Did have some really good fish & chips moments. last meal of the trip especially we got a recommendation from one of my brother's friends who goes to cambridge and ouuuugh that shit was So good.

misc: it's good to be back ... now i'm back in The Grind (work) but i don't mind it. despite the jetlag i'm feeling refocused and excited to get moving on stuff again. i liked a lot of stuff about the uk (trains, vibes) but i also did not like some stuff (why are the cold meds So weak there lmfao) and overall i'm glad to e home :)

ive always loved the hc that he is a chronic coffee drinker, man's job must be proper stressful so he needs his caffeine fix to keep him going, after all its not like he has a heart to explode with the amount he drinks

his favourite and go-to coffee order is usually just a cappuccino with an extra shot of espresso, 'for that kick', i think he has this favourite coffee shop he visits, maybe within the omega timeline itself, its a local family owned business and its become quite famous for being the god of death's favoruite spot for a pot, they say anyone who drinks there might just be spared the cruel hand of death

anyways, whilst he always orders a really strong coffee i think after the seventh, "the regular?", hed go no, no i wont, and instead orders the unicorn sprinkle supreme frappe, and he really, really likes it, so he now orders that instead, so long as they dump as much espresso as is legal in the cream and syrup concoction

hes a good husband, i hate the image some people in this fandom of how he treats geno, hes constantly overstepping boundaries and all that gross stuff (wonder who that came from.... 2016/17 was a dark time). he is constantly doting on geno, always visiting him whenever he can, always orders a drink for him whenever he goes to his spot, constantly showering him with gifts and the like, and he is so, so happy hes one of the few people he can touch and goes full on pda mode whenevr he can - side note he does this to annoy and embarrass goth

he does actually have eyelights (may actually be canon idr) but he just doesnt show them, why? mystery <|:))

very much so uncanon to almost everything, but i think him and nightmare would get along really well, both are feared because of a duty they have to carry out, something they cant change about themselves, so id think they bond over that, and maybe in another universe nightmare wouldve never have become corrupted because hed have a friend to support him, someone who knew exactly what it felt like but was able to cope with it because of a support network - also coffee-drinking, book-reading introverts unite

also not exactly canon to tcoti as far as i remember, but hey thats what a headcanon is, is that he is in a loving relationship with geno and life, they are brought together in holy ma-TRIO-mony hehehe, so goth gets to have three mum-things, also the image of this beautiful ethereal woman cloaked in flowers and silk embroidered with pearls and gold jewellery standing next to these 5' odd skeleton dudes who are wearing these ragged ass hoodies, shorts and slippers, and her going being like "hmmm yes my husbandwives, i love them dearly", is hilarious to me

he is greek, its quite clear reapertale is based off of the hellenic pantheon, so it only makes sense for reapertale characters to be greek, at least somewhat partially

reaper is supposed to be a counter to repeartale papyrus who is a god of painless death, so in my eyes reaper sort of acts a bit like a judge (just like sans in ut), he takes the souls of those who would've gone to the underworld, which begs the question, what the fuck happens to people who die in this world and in the omega timeline in tcoti, because in my eyes, reaper and paps (idk his name im sorry 😭) reap souls and take them to the underworld (limbo/hell) or to elysium/olympia (heaven sorta), but if a soul is destroyed by say someone like error or is irreparably damaged by experiments on the soul, then that soul cannot be reaped and that person just sorta ceases to exist or becomes undead/deathless, its really weird to try and logic it out, a definitive heaven/hell in the same world where there are beings who can rip apart the code and do whatever they please - please author explainnn i just really wanna know what you think

i think he has a very cold and dark aura, its quite literally visible around him at all times and it never really lets up, this aura is pretty bad for most people and nakes you feel like your dying if you come to close to him

under his cloak he just wears his pajamas, and they always have some dumb slogan on them, life probably bought them

random ask question; if you were to redesign any realicide/centricide character, who, how and why?

and umm honestly i do love all of the realicide characters designs and ik im not like. good at character design personally., so i dont think i would change a whole lot from any of them. ingsoc, egoism, and moralist did come to mind and i think if i were to change anything about them it would be like. pretty minor details.

like i feel like moralist should have glasses, or maybe contacts, or some similar banal accessory (maybe a WATCH) + more of the heart motif, bc as he is, hes just kind of a guy in a white shirt yk!

i think i would just make ingsoc a bit older, less red toned, and give him a bit more of an old british military-esque outfit. (for the gray grej he sure is red lol)

and with ego i think i might just make him a little worse. i dont know how to describe it, i might have to make a visual aid lol. i think he should be shittier maybe. or maybe more ancap-esque ok

as for centricide. their simplistic appearances really charm me, but realistically in a more refined production id tweak the appearances of the centrists. the rest of them are fine honestly (i love military or mad scientist type posad designs but legitimately i love his bright yellow t shirt i dont know why).

like horseshoe deserves more cowboy gear.. he needs flannel and cowbow boots and a braided rat tail.

HEY SHUT UP IM BACK AT IT AGAIN LETS GO

So im thinking he takes mostly after the mime aspect, really committing to the bit and only very rarely cheating with invisible items, mostly he uses this method to practice at home (whether that's an actual apartment or a secret hideout is TBD) and does actual mime work for his acts, both criminal and genuine performances for entertainment purposes. Obviously his criminal career clashes with the clown code so he can't register as an official clown, but he still puts on shows at Arkahm Asylum for the inmates sometimes, he doesn't really get sent there himself he just likes busting into the place. At first it was to annoy Jazz at work but he's become something of a favorite to a lot of the regular rouges there.

Now the thing about Danny is that Mime is a weird vibe for him to go with, right? I mean we know Danny, the guy cannot stop quipping to save his half life! So what's the deal? Why mime? Can't just be the black and white aesthetic right?

Well, I posit to you, dear Phandom: There's a very good reason why Dan only developed his ghostly wail when he did, and Danny should not have been allowed to develop his so soon.

It is made a big deal out of that he's even capable of this at the age of 14, but it is a power born out of necessity and desperation in its case and like a lot of drastic measures, it takes its toll.

Not only is this ability a strain on the rest of his ghost power, as we've previously seen it physically drain his energy, but it also wasn't meant to be used by anyone with a physical, mortal body. That's why Dan is able to develop this ability with seemingly no backlash, he takes the time to get to know his new form and learns how to harness its power to the fullest, studies his strengths and weakness and only then unleashes this destructive new power.

Danny didn't have the time to do all of that, so when he realized what he had been doing, how he was slowly destroying his vocal chords, he had to make a decision before the choice would be taken from him by his body's continuing deterioration.

Does he continue using the ghostly wail and eventually destroys his voice as Fenton, destroys his human vocal chords allowing only Phantom to be able to speak? OR! Does he take a vow of silence as Phantom, never again using his ghostly wail or speaking a word in his ghost form, so that Fenton could keep his voice?

Fenton only ever had his voice, and now he had Phantom too, but that couldn't always be relied on and was too often a hindrance as much as it was help.

So Danny made a choice, but that didn't mean he'd stop using his powers to help, in his own feral way.

He recalled enjoying the freedom of being a circus act, just not exactly loving the not freedom of being mind controlled into it, and seeing as the truth of his origins had come to light he figured he could lean into both the comedy and the darkness, become a goth clown, Sam would love it!

Gotham comes to know him as a whispered shadow, much like Batman once was when people weren't sure if he was even real.

Their Silent Knight.

(I don't have a concrete name for him yet, that's just what Gotham calls him the way Batman is the dark knight, but one name I'm playing with is Dead Air. Yknow cuz like, aerial stunts, and also ghosts, and also synonym for silence? There's precedent for names like that with Deadman... maybe he should be Deadair? That don't look right to me tho... anyway, workshopping it!)

He uses his powers of speed strength and flight to pull of literally impossible feats of acrobatics that make Dick jealous, ice and ecto blasts make for easy slapstick and can be shot discreetly enough that really only the bats and even then, only the bats who are actually there to witness it happen would ever notice, as ecto activity has a hard time showing on camera fully in tact if it even showed up at all.

And despite never using his voice, he never had an issue expressing his sass and roasting both bats and rouges through miming alone.

For Ectober Month 2021, Day 2: Scream vs Laugh

Tucker just wants his ride home to be quick and peaceful after a long day at school. He doesn't want to deal with creepy, spontaneous laughter.

Tucker Foley was having a bad day. He’d bombed every question a teacher asked him, even in his computer science class. That wasn’t entirely his fault. Danny had asked him something over text, and that had made him miss the question. Then there had been a ghost attacking the school gym, which wouldn’t have been a big deal except that he was in it at the time. Everyone got to watch as he got pummeled by a variety of sporting equipment gone mad. It wasn’t even because he’d been doing anything! Tucker just happened to be closest to the equipment closet at the time. More awful, dumb luck.

His internal monologue was interrupted by a buzzing PDA.

HER GOTHNESS: you there yet

Tucker banged his head against the bus’s bar. 

YOU: 30 mins dude 

YOU: im but a poor man n the bus is slow

HER GOTHNESS: for a poor man you use a lot of characters

HER GOTHNESS: lmk when you’re on

Tucker rolled his eyes and clicked over to his notes icon, where he was drafting a new code. This one was for a program that would help them identify ghosts by ectosignature. Hopefully. The whole concept of identifying an individual ectosignature by any means that a computer could understand was kind of up in the air right now. As far as he knew, even the Fentons hadn’t figured it out yet. But they weren’t genius computer science prodigies. 

Part of the way through it, Tucker noticed someone closer to the front of the bus was laughing. That wasn’t really a big deal. It happened. People started laughing on the bus. Maybe he was reading a book, or got a funny text. He went back to his typing for a few minutes.

Then more people started laughing.

Tucker kept staring at his email and notes. This was weird, but maybe it was a coincidence? Coincidences were things that happened. They had been vanishingly rare since the whole ghost portal thing, but they had to happen sometimes. Right?

Half the bus was laughing. Tucker looked up and saw people grinning. There was Mike, the mechanic who lived a few doors down from his family, and Mrs. Richards, the old lady who always had the best Halloween candy, and a few other people he recognized. They were laughing, but their eyes were wide, flickering back and forth. Mike caught Tucker’s eyes. Behind the manic grin, he looked terrified.

It had to be a ghost, right? Every time weird stuff happened in Amity Park, it was ghosts. 

YOU: hey dude any laughing ghosts on ur radar

YOU: ???

LIVING DEAD BOY: not really? something weird?

YOU: YEAH KINDA

Something grabbed Tucker’s shoulder. Tucker jumped. It was Mike. 

“H-Hey, Mike, what’s up?”

Michael didn’t stop laughing. He gripped Tucker’s jacket and laughed with wide, pleading eyes.

“Dude, knock it off,” Tucker said. “Why are you laughing?”

Mike didn’t stop. Instead he pointed away, towards the middle of the bus. That was where the laughing started. 

Tucker felt a deep chill go down his spine. Danny dealt with ghosts. He did computer stuff and made stupid jokes. This wasn’t his job. Right?

Laughter surrounded him.

Tucker shuddered. It wasn’t right. Nothing about this was right. He stepped to the side and walked towards the middle of the bus.

It was colder the closer he got. Like a fridge. Worse than a fridge; like an ice cooler in the depths of winter. Tucker understood some basic thermodynamics. There wasn’t anything that generated coldness. Cold was just the lack of heat. Things became colder when energy left them. 

Science didn’t stop the cold from reaching into him like a long arm with many frigid fingers. 

“Okay, I’m here,” Tucker stated as soon as he was in the center of the bus. He couldn’t help his voice cracking just a bit. “Will you stop making them laugh?”

The cold stopped for a moment. Instead of sapping him, it felt like a weird blanket. Like he was engulfed in water but still able to breathe. Ghost stuff was freaky and didn’t make any sense.

Please. 

Tucker turned and found himself eye-to-eye with a corpse. It was dessicated; practically mummified. It had no eyes, nose, or lips. Long, wiry hair hung from its scalp. He screamed and shut his eyes. Why couldn’t he have gotten a cool ghost like Ember? His first solo gig and it had to be the Cryptkeeper. When he opened his eyes again, the corpse ghost had moved back a couple of feet. 

They were still surrounded by people who were laughing so hard that they were gasping for air. Mike had fallen over. Mrs. Richards was crying. The bus driver seemed to have collapsed into the aisle.

Amelia Whittaker. 

Outside, the scenery was completely wrong. They had long since gone past Tucker’s stop. It was much darker than it had been just a few minutes ago.

“What do you want?” Tucker asked. 

The ‘stop requested’ light dinged on. The panel at the front of the bus said that the next stop was Cherry Street Cemetery. Of course it was.

“Okay,” Tucker said, looking at the corpse. “Okay, I’ll go to the cemetery and look for Amelia Whittaker. I promise. Will you please let these people go now?”

The corpse stared sightlessly ahead. The bus came to a slow, gentle stop and the sliding door opened of its own accord.

There wasn’t really anything else he could do. Tucker stepped off the bus.

The laughter stopped. The cold went away. The people still on the bus started to pick each other up. Tucker breathed a sigh of relief. His job wasn’t over, but at least they were going to be okay. He took out his PDA. He had missed a few calls and more than a dozen texts.

YOU: meet me in the cherry st cemetery

LIVING DEAD BOY: yeah will do u ok?? 

He turned away from the bus and walked into the cemetery. It was quiet. Not eerily quiet, though. There were cars going up and down the street behind him, and the street to his right. If he listened hard enough, he could hear frogs and crickets starting their evening chorus. 

Tucker walked down the aisles of headstones. It was relaxing, in a weird way. There was no organization. The names and dates were all wildly different from one plot to the next. Some had flowers, others didn’t. A few had toys on them, little statues, pretty rocks or other trinkets. The stones themselves were vastly different from one to another. Some were simple rectangles with a name and set of dates. Others were elaborately carved, with pictures of the deceased safely behind bronze-lidded frames. Tucker had never really paid attention to how different a simple headstone could be. As he went up and down and up and down the rows, the names and dates all seemed to blend together.

Until he found Amelia.

There was a heaviness to the grave even before he reached it. The air felt thicker here, the sky a little darker. He read the name and sat down to the right of the grave. This was one of the simplest headstones he’d seen. It didn’t even have her birth and death dates. It was just a stone slab with a name.

“Hey, Amelia,” he whispered. “I still don’t know what that was about, but I found you.”

After a few minutes passed, Danny appeared before him in ghost form. He looked more see-through than normal. 

“You okay, man?” Tucker asked.

“It’s been a long day,” Danny said instead of answering directly.

“I’d agree, but I think I lost an hour. Haunted bus rides, huh?”

Danny frowned and looked somewhere in the distance. The cemetery was empty aside from them. At least, it was to Tucker. Maybe Danny could see things that he couldn’t. This whole thing was weird, even by their standards. Tucker’s usual coping mechanism was of no use here.

“On the bus, everyone started laughing,” he said softly. “They couldn’t stop. Why did she do that?”

Danny stared at the grave with eyes that seemed utterly empty aside from the burning green embers of his irises. “It’s what she wanted,” he said. His voice was even more hollow, more echoed, than normal. “She wanted to make people happy.”

Right, ghost logic. Tucker shivered. His PDA buzzed again, reminding him that he was very late for dinner.

“I have to go home soon.”

Danny curled his ghostly tail around Tucker. Rather than making him feel safer, it just gave him a chill. “Don’t worry, Tuck. I’ll drop you off, then come back to talk to her.”

“Thanks, man.”

Tucker wished he could do more. The empty headstone looked so lonely. “I’ll bring her some flowers.” 

For a moment they were both quiet, paying respects to someone they had never known.

“She’s glad you listened,” Danny said.

Myotismon having a female tamer that loves cute stuff im talking plushies and pink and flowers and puppies and sanrio stuff and all that kawaii aesthetic but having a very grungy gothy punky egirl fashion sense im talking "whats your fav colour?" And the tamer all dressed up in black straight face goes "pink". I just need that in my life.

It does slightly throw Myotismon for a loop when he looks at her visual aesthetics and it's all dark and grungy, but when looking at the things she owns that aren't her clothes being so bright and cute. He thought he had a read on her from their first meeting, but to see what she actually likes makes him rethink it heavily.

Now, he's not going to poke about it. After all, it's only natural to enjoy a fashion choice,but have other interests and love for the cute little things depending on some things. He just didn't get the feel that she enjoyed it from her initial demeanor or style. How straight face she gets when saying how much she actually loves plushies and the colour pink. It makes him chuckle at the contrast.

He does adore her style, both of them. It makes it strangely easy for Myotismon to figure out what sort of gifts to give her, and tune into her sort of style of things. He's a rather big fan of her fashion choice, which is quite the given for this dark gentleman of a Digimon, but goes along with her enjoyment of the softer, cuter things she enjoys as well.

Truly, at their first meeting of one another, Myotismon figured her to be into all sorts of dark themes and the like simply due to her outfit choice. Which, to be fair, was probably not the best thing to think of immediately from his Tamer, but her style screamed it. Until he saw everything her room had to offer. Being blasted by the sudden style change completely threw him off. He had to get a different read on her after that, which didn't take him too terribly long. But it still did make him confused in the end.

Now that Myotismon has spent plenty of time with her, he gets it in his own way. She dresses well in black, the gothy aesthetic always one to be enjoyed most certainly. But just because she has such a dress code for her outings, doesn't mean she can't enjoy the cute things as well.

Myotismon does make an off-hand joke about maybe she should try to be a pastel goth if she enjoys the cute stuff so much, but he also has grown far too attached to her dark dressing he quickly makes sure that she knows he was joking. Though... She might pull it off... But he still prefers the dark look, it makes a good contrast for her room and other hobbies.

I think now that it’s October 1st I’m finally getting into “spooky season mode” lol so I’m like planning out what I’m gonna do for Halloween and stuff, so I haven’t thought of a ton of halloween/spooky ideas yet (I will say I was thinking about those House of Mouse Halloween episodes where Hades wears that dumb Mickey fit and the other one where they show his blooper reel of failed auditions today while I was working 😂).

I have had a few ideas though for some different versions of Persephone like a mermaid Persephone or a fairy Persephone. Though, those aren’t necessarily spooky lol, but I guess you could turn it into like a siren Persephone or dark fairy Persephone (I know how ironic that sounds with Maleficent being a dark fairy 😂).

I can also see Hades being a vampire too (godpire? Lmao idk. Maybe it’s the sharp teeth and goth aesthetic I get from him that makes me think that lmao)! Like, I can totally imagine him in his throne with a glass of blood lmao (or I guess he’d prefer ichor? Idk lol)!
