more of my post-canon headcanon nonsense (first part here). if reina was hoping for a more sympathetic reaction, she shouldn't have gone to yuuko first about it
(A TON OF RAMBLING BELOW THE CUT)
and to be fair, she didn't "JUST" realize it; it's something she's been thinking for a while, among other things. like how, she's no longer interested in taki-sensei. and maybe she never actually could see them being together? when she visits home and decides to confess to him, it's less of a confession and more confirming what she's started to think about. she has this feeling of wanting to get this out of the way before talking to anyone else, so she doesn't let anyone else know she's home except her parents who help her invite him over for dinner
it strikes her that this man she's put on a pedestal her entire life, this unreachable goal marker, is on first-name basis w her best friend. he and kumiko are coworkers, peers. equals. the shift seems to have happened so easily and so quickly. when did that even happen? while reina was away trying to become special enough for him, of course!
wait, "special enough"? that doesn't sound right. what was she doing this all for?
his firm and polite rejection when she asks if there would ever be a chance for the two of them to be anything doesn't hurt reina at all compared to the earthshaking feeling of her entire worldview coming undone
the next day: cue her dramatic haircut and her calling up her bestie yuuko. after catching up for a bit, yuuko invites reina to come w her to meet up w natsuki and the others for drinks (texts natsuki: "don't tell kumiko!! 😈")
and so, their next piece begins
BONUS:
i think kumirei still have a long way to go before getting together.
if you're at the end of this, thanks so much for reading. this was. MUCH more than i was expecting to write.

i know it will never happen but i so desperately desire an origins-type playable backstory thing in all games but especially veilguard. i feel like it added so much depth to origins and made you feel instantly connected to your character in a way that gets lost in games like inquisition where you fill in the blanks as you go except for the bare basics. like, i do enjoy the freedom to willy nilly decide where a character was before the events of the story from a creative perspective, but the playable origins were just so good! especially when you go back to where your warden is from and can engage differently with the arcs there

The solver is gone (?) They put Bizcuit in a normal worker body. They really didn’t expect him to grow sharp teeth or a tail. He doesn't need to drink oil to live but that won't stop him from trying. (cw: vomiting)
(I actually drew most of this before episode 7, but I felt like cleaning it up a bit and posting it now)

The Greywaren
Quite suddenly Ronan was cross with both voices. He was cross with himself. Both sides telling him what he was, and him believing it. How long had he been asking: Tell me what I am?.
Never once had he simply decided for himself.
It wasn't a choice at all.
He woke up.
