Fadel's low self esteem is so so personal to me. The fact that he's believed for so long that he's only as good as the work he does. That fadel as a person isn't worth much, that his emotions and problems aren't something to be talked about. That he'd rather spill his sorrows to strangers and fleeting ears, lest he burden anyone he cares about with it. That he hesitates so, so much before melting into style. He's so deeply worried about being forgotten because why, why would anyone bother to keep someone like him in memory, right? Take his work away, and he is so deeply sad and all over the place, all the time. Fadel has so much love to give and a heart bigger than all his hurt combined. He's ready to give and give and give and people have always taken and taken and taken and left him in the dust.

Until style. And his persistent, unwavering shower of love. The single minded devotion that stopped fadel dead in his tracks and allowed him to finally let go of the reigns and just accept his love, allowed him to not hide from or fight against the love he was given, allowed him to empty the worries in his head and take what style so gently gave, to simple allow style to fix him.

God, style. Style is fadel's Northstar, his compass, his anchor, a grounding touch. The immovable object to fadel's unstoppable force. Style's constant stream of affirming words like a soft melody, always reminding fadel that he belongs, that he's loved, that he matters. And style's tendency to go to any length to keep fadel safe, even risking his own safety? His armor, the shield to his sword. You see it everytime fadel talks poorly about himself and style's face just falls. The way style never hesitates to reaffirm his love for fadel again and again and again and again. The way he never lets fadel fall down his insecure, self deprecating spiral. The way he always believes in the good in him, always be ready with open arms and a thousand kisses. The way he always chooses fadel over and over again. The way he holds back his own emotions just to hold space for fadel's breakdowns. The way he'll always be a safe space for fadel's vulnerability.

Star crossed lovers or accidental soulmates or an intentional choice made every single day, they deserve the happy ending all those love stories told us about.

nyo!america is so dear to me. you KNOW she's actually such a constant wreck. she's got mama issues (thanks england!!) but unlike canada she is incapable of keeping it to herself. she's definitely gotten caught up in the American Woman Beauty Ideals™ (probably starting with being used for propaganda in the 1940s which seems to be referenced in canon? but it just gets Worse as the centuries progress, i imagine 60s-80s was a dark peak) and no matter how many decades pass she still relapses every once in a while. also you all know how much america struggles with his weight in canon... poor nyomerica too...

this is all masked under some good old fashioned Southern Hospitality and genki girl stuff so it's difficult to notice at first

she isn't respected at her job even though she's centuries older than everyone there. she is filled with such a destructive and ugly rage but she's forced into a flattering dress for the cameras. you KNOW she constantly has paparazzi harassing her and its a wreck because she canonically SOLVES EVERYTHING WITH VIOLENCE. something something repressed rage.

I don’t think people realize how freaked out fanfic readers get when their favorite author(s) doesn’t update their ongoing schedule ON TIME.

And it’s not cause we want the chapter…it’s cause we’re so fucking worried about the Author.

Like— OMG ARE YOU OKAY? YOU’VE BEEN GIVING US THE TRAGIC UPDATES OF YOUR LIFE IN THE NOTES THE PAST 10 CHAPTERS?! WHY STOP? ARE YOU DEAD? DID YOU GET STUCK IN THE WALL LIKE YOUR CAT?? HAVE YOU EATEN?? HAS YOUR BRAIN EXPLODED??

Readers no longer care about the story when they don’t get their usual update. We panic and flag S.O.S as we track down our wayward author who has been both blessed by the universe with a creative mind and cursed all the same with the worst luck.

So any authors who are reading this please understand— when we comment “hey are you okay?” in your comments. No, we are not asking about the chapter.

We are legitimately concerned for your wellbeing. Do not force yourself to shit out a chapter just to appease other ppl when you yourself are not in the mental state to enjoy it or even write it to begin with.
