Blessed Full Flower Moon!

Tonight on the 5th of may we celebrate the full flower moon. 🌕🌺

The full moon will be in the water sign scorpio and is also influenced by the planet Pluto going retrograde. This is a time of transformation and intuition and inner wisdom.

One night later on may 6th/Mounykhion 16th in hellenic polytheism we also celebrate the festival of Mounykhia, a day on which to honor the goddess Artemis and her connection to the moon and role as a moon goddess.

Two days ago I started preparing by researching the full flower moon and Pluto going retrograde and I chose which oracle cards would fit nicely with this full moon to put on the altar to Nyx, especially since the full moon would happen during the evening and night time. Yesterday before leaving my apartment I re-organized my altar, brought an offer and put up the altar cards, one to show of my gratefulness to Nyx, the gods and the moon because I received a lot of signs, consultation, guidance, strength, positivity, happiness and luck since the last full moon so this full moon it was extra important for me to show that gratitude. The rest of the cards were to really tap into the specific themes and energies of this full moon and to manifest good upcoming things for this month and the near future. I also put up the oracle card representing the element water since the full moon will be in scorpio, a water sign.

I spend the day of the full moon by wearing a shirt with the moon on it that says "tonight is the night", and went to buy cake with my mom to celebrate. Mom actually came to get me to go outside and watch the full moon, but at that time the moon was still rising. So later in the night we went outside again to watch her shine really bright and beautifully. We stood outside for a while looking at the moon and focusing on the silence of the night and the beauty of the moon and her light. During the night I also listened to my devotional playlist and watched an interview with my favorite band and they actually also mentioned that it's the full moon today and that we should do a little ritual ;)

Today we have the Flower/Budding/Planting/Egg-Laying/Shedding Ponies Moon in Scorpio [in the Northern Hemisphere] & the Beaver/Frost/Sassafras/Mourning Moon in Scorpio [in the Southern Hemisphere]. 🌱🌷🥚🪴

This Budding Moon signals the upcoming peak of Spring Season, marked by the abundance of flowering trees and plants that this season is known for. Depending on where we live, we will see avians, reptiles, & amphibians lay their eggs. All of which is Nature's way of saying that warmer weather is coming to stay. It is our time to plant foods, flowers, and plants with more fervor, as the growing season is approaching full swing.

For us Indigenous Afrikans/Americans, each Full Moon holds great cultural significance. We name each Full Moon according to seasonal events or natural phenomenon that take place around this time, by region/country. Thus this serves as one of many traditional ways to mark our place in the Circle of Life, from one year and season to the next.

The full moon is in the house of Scorpio: Power, Vitality, Passion, Sexuality, Courage and Strength.

We are in a massive transition. Take accounting of everything that is around you in all aspects of your life and acknowledge the blessings, abundance and gifts that you are surrounded by.

In fact if you take a true accounting you will find that you have much to share and a lot of stuff that could find new homes, new owners, new purpose with others. In some ways over abundance.

You are also presented with a plethora of options, opportunities, enhancements some of them more complicated than others. It's all now about your choices and their consequences when it comes to moving through this huge transition.

Don't fret, don't worry, don't ponder what if. Be bold in making the next set of choices. The biggest issue is keeping your mind in check so you don't create consequences that would not have happened if you hadn't thought about them.

As you enjoy the feast of plenty, take a deeper look inside and see what's empty or near empty. There are pockets in your life that you've ignored that have run dry. There are energies that need to be replenished. There are some holes, broken things, that need to be mended, fixed or let go of and replaced. It's okay that things/concepts/spaces have worn out. It's good to replace, to update, to replenish, restock. But you need to look truthfully within and acknowledge these spaces/places/thoughts so you can fill them up properly. In the same breath, you need to understand why you neglected, ignored, brushed aside these and see if there is something that you can heal, and help move into a better habit to support your life of abundance.

And lastly, while you are enjoying the intense energies of the full moon and lunar eclipse, think of how to protect your abundance and growth going forward. What tools are sharp and ready for the future. What abilities, skills and behaviors support growth and abundance. You need to invest in yourself, which means to start protecting the peace, joy and healing that you have worked very hard to achieve. Look around you and fortify those gifts that support peace, joy and healing. Spend a bit more time making sure they are strong, in place and most importantly always available.

Pay attention to 12th and 20th of this month, there are additional energies that will guide and assist you into making some serious decisions, some of which might seem a bit far fetch, but they are important to do, and prepare for.

But for the next two+ days really take some time with the full moon. Bring some fresh flowers to your altar, add a gift or token of appreciation and offer it to Luna.

First Look - Jan. 17th - word count: 292 - @wolfstarmicrofic

Remus Lupin set down his stuff in an empty compartment aboard the Hogwarts Express.

He was about to start his first year in Hogwarts. He couldn’t be more excited.

He pulled a book out of his bag- The Picture of Dorian Gray- and began reading.

He was almost finished with chapter one when three boys burst in together, laughing raucously. Upon noticing him, they quieted considerably.

“Sorry for barging in here,” one of the boys said, stepping closer. He had messy dark hair and gold wire-rimmed glasses. “Can we stay with you, though? All the other compartments are full.”

“Sure,” Remus shrugged. It didn’t matter to him as long as they let him read.

“Great!” the boy grinned. “My name’s James Potter. Who’re you?”

“Remus Lupin. Pleasure,” Remus muttered, not really meaning it at all.

“Cool name,” James said. “This here’s Peter Pettigrew,” he pointed at the boy with mousy hair and blue eyes behind him. 

“Hi,” Peter said, waving shyly.

“And this one-” James grinned, motioning at the last boy.

“-knows how to introduce himself. Sirius Orion Black, pleasure to meet you,” he said, stepping forward and offering Remus his hand. 

The first thing that Remus noticed was that Sirius had ebony hair, an upturned nose, and striking silver eyes. 

The second thing that he noticed was that Sirius looked impeccably tailored and put together. 

This was the child that his parents wished he was, not some werewolf freak who hated socializing.

So, Remus listened to his spite.

He ignored the extended hand, glared at Sirius, and spat “fuck off,” returning to his book.

To his utter shock, Sirius started laughing.

“Oh, we are so gonna be friends,” he cackled.

Three years, eight months, and fifteen days later, they were more.

Year In Review!!!

Cutting it close to the New Year in my time zone, so what better way to end the year with a review of some of my favorite art pieces from each month! Let's see how I've grown together eh? <3

Prompt 1 - Animagus

He ran through the woods, the Wolf close behind. They were leading him away from the edge of the forest where he’d been tracking something and forcing him deeper into the forest. Padfoot nipped at his heals, keeping him going in the same direction. Sunrise was hours away. They had to keep the Wolf under control. But the Wolf wouldn’t stop trying to turn around and go back towards the school.

He slowed his canter and looked at Padfoot. They silently agreed that he should go back the way they came and try to figure out what had Moony so riled up. Prongs could think of only one thing. A student was out of bed. 

He charged through the trees, ripping his antlers through the low-hanging branches, his hooves squelching in the thick mud. 

He broke free of the worst of the trees and found what Moony had been trying to get. Regulus Black stood in a clearing not too far from the grounds picking Fluxweed. James transformed and sprinted towards Regulus. He grabbed the surprised boy by the arm, hauled him to his feet and set off running. 

“Hey! What do you think you’re doing, Potter?!” Regulus yelled at him. 

“Shut up! Don’t you know it’s dangerous to be out on a full moon?” He didn’t break step as he told Regulus off. 

“Don’t be an idiot, Potter. There are no werewolves in the forbidden forest.” Regulus scoffed, just as a howl was let loose. It was closer than it should be. 

James turned his head in the direction it came from and ran faster. He basically dragged Regulus onto the lawn. 

“Hurry up!” James urged the other boy as they clambered up the steep slope. 

Frantic barking called from the tree line as a humongous silver grey wolf broke through the trees. Regulus gasped beside him. James turned to Regulus and whispered, “Run!” Before running towards the Wolf, transforming into his animagus form and catching him mid-leap with his antlers. He didn’t have time to check on Regulus and just prayed he’d made it back up to the castle. 

Padfoot latched onto Moony’s leg and began dragging him back towards the Whomping Willow, Wormtail holding onto Moony’s ear for dear life. They’d have to keep him locked up there for the remainder of the night, it was just too dangerous. It had been a close one and James knew come the morning Regulus would want some answers that he wasn’t sure he could give.
