i feel like jason constantly wearing a helmet has ruined his ability to control his facial expressions since he makes whatever faces he wants while in costume. but when he's out of it?

bruce says something audacious and jason will make the hardest stink face ever. tim tries to get smart with him? he's pulling a top-notch incredulous expression. someone creepy flirts with him and jason is immediately making the nastiest look of disgust that instantly makes everyone who was about to lay a move on him back up ten feet.

or sometimes it'll be harmless! batman tells red hood he did a good job after patrol and suddenly jason is looking up at him with sparkling wide eyes, lips parted, and the slightest tilt in his head like he can't believe his kinda-not-anymore dad just praised him. it's an adorable and, frankly, heartbreaking expression that makes bruce mentally clutch his chest.

Masked characters who never reveal their face/you rarely see their face my forever beloved i know u have a face under there but that mask is your face and I'm giving it a kiss even if you don't feel it

#many masked characters have my heart just cause it's literally one of the BEST character design choices ever #like hunk resident evil wouldn't be as fucking COOL if we saw his face right? that mask is part of his identity and his character #master chief another example if we dont count the show WHICH WE WONT #master chief probably being the prime example of a masked character #doom guy is one of my fav masked characters cause you CAN see his face sometimes but its always a RARE moment to see it #we dont need to see his face 24/7 cause he already gives off so much character through his body language #you can FEEL his anger and hatred for the thing's he kill's without EVER seeing his facial expression's #of course the original doom's also has a head icon showing you his emotions but the newer doom's REALLY leaned on the masked side of him #samus another great example #metroid dread is literally my favorite metroid game for what it does with her and the animation's they do for her #you can just FEEL and see what she's thinking/feeling/commiting too in every interaction #shes so quiet and stoic and when we do see her face its used to GREAT effect #samus is my fav masked character probably everytime i think back on her its always like omg...shes so cool...

#just wanted to emphasize the Master's expressions here #the biggest 'his gaze softened' to have ever 'his gaze softened'-ed #you can see him going from confused to the moment when he's finally touched with realization by ten's word with the eyebrow raise #and how he's visibly holding back the tears and simply can't contain a smile that only grows bigger #and the way he looks at then by the end really has a mix of emotions but for me it screams longing #because with the way he says “yeah” and his thoughtful expression at the beginning he very likely was reminiscing their memories together #and he comes to realization that yeah. what were they without each other.#or you can say that he just finally felt touched that ten isn't willing to let go of the 2 of them together after everything the master did #considering this was the first time we saw him in a moment of vulnerability. he was scared even #he opened himself very briefly for the first time and ten still showed compassion towards him #okay this got way longer that I thought but I think a LOT was spoken here even with no words #a big applause to john simm's facial acting here of course #thoschei #tensimm #best enemies #doctor who #tenth doctor #10th doctor #simm!master
