Starlo thinks he knows humans soooooooo well because he's watched human movies, yet the split second he sees their nose bleeding from the dry air, he's like "Ah shit. Any sort of bleeding is bad. Is this a fatal amount of blood loss? What do I do??? It just keeps coming out!" Ceroba is like "There can't be that many differences between a monster kid and a human kid. I've already raised one, how hard can another one be?" And then they get the flu, and since disease isn't really a thing with monsters, she's concerned that they're starting to Fall Down (<- okay, this one isn't funny). Martlet finds out that humans need to supplement their diet with things like fiber and iron, but apparently you can't just feed them cut up pieces of cloth and iron filings, that'll kill them. They find out that humans have internal organs and are made of cells and they're be simultaneously disgusted and intrigued. Like, you're made of a bunch of little parts? And those parts make up flesh tubes in your body and stuff? And they're doing their own thing all the time?? Without your awareness??? Does it feel weird????

Bro, I wanna talk about the implications of Kirby Mass Attack so bad... I will go down with the take that it's the darkest Kirby game of all time; a MINIMUM of 45 Kirbys end up dead and lore implications (like the cycle of matter/mitosis) make it so much worse! 😭

Imagine, as a child, having to guide/care for infant versions of yourself that can barely defend themselves and at least 45 of them end up dying.

This shit was so bad the ending had Kirby actually do some self reflection. Straight up looking out at the void of space and acknowledging that darkness had to exist IN NARRATIVE TEXT!

I ❤️ MARY i was raised atheist (my dad's a closeted animist, if you mention it he will agree and reiterate his own beliefs in his own words which are animist paraphrase but mostly he dgaf and vibes) but my country is The catholic country after Italy (it's called Roman catholic church after all) like from the baptism to one of our kings in 500AD ish and until the Révolution france was called "the eldest daughter of the Church" right so catholic monuments are Plentiful. and who says "catholic" says "mary". you cannot exhale in this country without your breath hitting a Notre Dame ("Our Lady") whatever. "Notre Dame de" this "Notre Dame de" that. you find little Mary statues just dotting the landscape around.

not to bring up mass effect but that’s one of the most interesting things it ever posited when it came to the idea of organic vs artificial intelligence. a machine, if sentient, knows who created it and why it was created. and a person will never know that. like, even lacking spirituality, even if you ascribe all this to random cause-and-effect, that doesn’t actually get you any closer to understanding why there is a you. but a robot can look their creator in the eye, can read out the whole of its purpose, and know that no matter what it modifies, this is what it was made to be. and what if it was made limited, or flawed, or shackled. there are elements of that a person can relate to, maybe understand, but not all of it, not enough to fathom how different the experience of the world is when you have no questions about your origins.

Sometimes I sit down to think about the true ramifications of how / what the Fizz Bots are to Fizzarolli,

Imagine robotic clones ( sexual, at that ) being made of you and they are not only modeled after you in physical appearance, but have a likeness to your personality, mannerisms and general demeanor. Imagine they say the things you would, possibly act in the same way you would.

What's worse, is that they're made in your likeness in real time; their production / manufacturing ages along with you,

Imagine you SEE these things being assaulted, used & abused in public; these clones take it all with a smile. Soulless, mindless... But as if that's not enough, then realizing that they may just have sentience. Or at least, they give off the impression they do. And on top of ALL that... they have chunks of your memories, your past; they're you, but at the same time, they aren't,

What do you do with that information? How do you treat them ( yourself? )? What's the end game?

What really pleases God?

(This is the best thing to do on All Souls’ Day)

There’s kindness. And then there’s kindness.

Not that there’s anything wrong with doing something nice for someone who can do something nice for you. But if you’ve ever wondered how God looks at our acts of kindness towards each other, Jesus lets us know where our priorities need to be.

“When you hold a lunch or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or your wealthy neighbors, in case they may invite you back and you have repayment.”

“Rather, when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; blessed indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

What really pleases God?

Helping someone who needs it. Who cannot pay you back. When you know there’s nothing in it for you. And you help them anyway.

We cannot be reminded enough of the people who desperately need our help, who can offer us nothing in return.

Which is why the Church makes a big deal out of All Souls’ Day. All Souls’ Day is a reminder of the most helpless people of all. The poor souls in Purgatory.

We might bump into a homeless person. Or someone else in need. Just seeing them could move us to help.

But the Holy Souls in Purgatory? We’ve got to go out of our way to even think about them.

So what can we do to help them? There are two easy ways to obtain a plenary indulgence for the Souls in Purgatory.

Visit a cemetery and pray for the departed. You can pray out loud or in your heart. The plenary indulgence is available today and each day, from November 1-8.

Visit a church and pray the Our Father and the Creed for the departed. You can pray out loud or in your heart. The plenary indulgence is available today, November 2.

As with any plenary indulgence, the usual conditions apply.

Today, take a moment to help the most unseen of all those in need, the Souls in Purgatory.

Today and always, be an instrument of God’s grace in the most holy way possible - for someone who cannot pay you back.
