Decided to make some slight Dream and Nightmare redesigns! Was lowkey struggling with Dream’s which is why there’s 4 alts 😭😭😭😭

i had a lot of inspo for the Nightmare redesign, but especially @/ggalpalb’s creaturemare,,,,,,, i love it so much!!!!!!! (but I do also love dastardly evil depictions of Nightmare too!)

Consider: since Dream and Nightmare’s true bodies are essentially flame spirits, they’d look like Grilby if their bones shattered.

Consider: nightmare having an instinctual fear of moose and other megafauna like mountain lions because there is no way in hell he wouldn’t develop that after having to survive the wilderness as a child. he knows logically that it could never actually harm him now unless he was really caught off guard, but the fear persists.

I like a wide variety of Nightmares. I like dad-mare, I like a more canon nightmare (I do have some beef with the idea corrupt and passive are different people, but I've seen cool concepts done with it.), fanon Nightmare is fun too!

I just like Nightmare y'know.

And I do love putting Nightmare in weird scenarios. Like what if he and the gang™️ fell into the backrooms? (If it existed in the utmv it'd be like an anti-void or a void or the doodlesphere, it's own thing.)

Or just Nightmare going to the spa lmao.

I love big dramatic center-pieces, I love fights, I love overarching plans.

But I also love the mundane when it comes to characters. You learn a lot about a character from mundane tasks.

And it's very funny sometimes to watch certain characters who normally wouldn't be doing mundane tasks like, grocery shopping, do those tasks y'know?
