Sorry for my break, due to some inconveniences I took a week off, now I've done new drawings, which I wanted to do last year, but due to some circumstances I didn't get around to it, but now I have. That trend was popular last year and I'm sorry I didn't do it then, but that certainly doesn't mean I haven't given up on it and I've done two drawings featuring my favorite characters from various franchises and together they make up the Superheroes Squad team.

The first drawing I drew features Donald Duck as Duck Avenger (Paperinik-Pk), Daffy Duck as Duck Dodgers from the 24th century, Drake Mallard as Darkwing Duck, Howard the Duck from Marvel Comics, Rayman from the Rayman game (Ubisoft), Woody Woodpecker as the Masked Woodpecker, Detective Droopy the Dog, Super Mario and Luigi from the popular Nintendo game, Bruce Wayne as Batman, Popeye the Sailor, Squidward Tentacles from SpongeBob SquarePants as Sour Note (as his superhero alter ego from the movie SpongeBob: Out of the Water), Asterix and Obelix from the popular Franco-Belgian comic of the same name, and Dr. David Livesey from the Soviet version of Treasure Island.

The second drawing I drew features T-Squad (Quack Pack-my version) featuring Louie Duck as Green Avenger (based on Duck Avenger), Dewey Duck as Blue Cyclops (based on Gizmoduck) and Huey Duck as Red Shadow (based on Darkwing Duck and Shadow). Fight scenes, action, and pacing in Kagurabachi

Kagurabachi is good. It's really good. This isn't news anymore. The once-memed-about manga surprisingly turned out to be as good as people were joking it would be.

There is a lot I love about it. The action and fight choreography is fun and exciting, for one thing.

There is a scene in a recent chapter where the action involves moving up and down floors of a hotel using elevators. The main character, Chihiro, comes face to face with an assassin, Hiruhiko, As he steps out of an elevator. Hiruhiko is trying to kill Iori, a high schooler whom Chihiro is trying to protect. Chihiro pushes Hiruhiko back into the elevator, instructs Iori to head to the hotel's roof, then cuts the cables, causing the elevator to fall down to the ground floor. As the elevator falls, Chihiro and Hiruhiko briefly fight in free fall, before tumbling out into a hallway as the elevator crashes. After a tense sword fight Hiruhiko slips past Chihiro into a working elevator and heads to the roof. Chihiro follows closely in another elevator, and we get some lovely panels of the two of them, briefly taking a breath, readying themselves to start fighting each other again as soon as the doors open.

Words don't do it justice.

I'm leaving a lot of details out of that description, but throughout this altercation there is a marvellous sense of stakes and tension. Something that Kagurabachi excels at depicting. The hallways in the hotel are small and confined, the elevators are even smaller and even more confined. It can barely contain the action that unfolds.

The atmosphere is also thick with tension. Hiruhiko is dangerous and possibly a psychopath, evidenced as such when the elevator doors first open on him holding by the hair the decapitated head of a guard he had just killed. Iori is vulnerable and scared, and going through her own emotional conflict. Before, and during the elevator fight, people are constantly get diced up and killed. Some of them have been recognisable characters with personalities. Some of them were allies of the main character. Almost all of them were cool and likeable. A lot of them are now dead. Iori could very well be next.

The world of Kagurabachi is brutal and fast paced. As is evident when a lot of characters are almost routinely getting killed off within a handful of chapters from their introduction. We barely get to know them. No-one is safe, not even the main characters like Chihiro, who regularly suffer near-death injuries, or sometimes get hurt so bad they just straight up die.

It rules.

This is what makes the following a bit weird to say: I really wish the story and plot would slow down just a bit to give us time to get to know the characters.

Don't get me wrong, I love the brisk pace, and the high stakes that comes as a result of that. But the characters, and consequently the audience, just don't seem to get a break to process all the shocking events that happen in each arc. The pacing is so fast that just when one action packed arc ends, another begins just as quickly. We don't see a lot of chapters where they just hang out or chill, even if only for a short while. There is no peaceful existence for them to return to for a short time, only for it to be violently interrupted. It's just action and violence with no downtime.

I guess this could be by design, since the main character's peaceful existence has already been shattered at the very beginning of the story. He has nothing to return to. His home is gone, and he has seemingly made no attempt to build a new one. His life is filled only with violence and revenge. But sooner or later that will get tiring. For both the main characters of Kagurabachi, and us, the audience.

Then again, this is just my personal opinion, and I could be wrong.

Anyways, Kagurabachi! Its good! Can't wait for the Anime! Hope it doesn't disappoint!

Hyacinthus Iceberg Meme EXPLAIN (P3)

It's time for me to answer your questions about this Hyacinthus iceberg meme. There is a lot to tackle, so I'll divide it into 5 parts for the sake of my sanity.

Quick disclaimer: I am NOT an expert in Greek mythology, just a fan of Hyacinthus who wants to learn about him and anyone related to him. Most of the things I'm about to discuss are just theories and speculations of a passerby on the Internet, so do not take them as valid facts!

Daphne is Hyacinthus' sister

There is only one poet who wrote about Daphne being Hyacinthus' sister. Well, it's not explicitly stated but he claimed Daphne was a daughter of King Amyclas and lived in Laconia, so it's not hard to piece it all together.

"This is how the story of Daphne, the daughter of Amyklas (Amyclas), is related. [...] But she got together a large pack of hounds and used to hunt either in Lakonia (Laconia) or sometimes going into the further mountains of the Peloponnese." - Parthenius, "Love Romances"

I have a joke headcanon that Apollo loves Hyacinthus because he looks like Daphne (Hya's sister) and Hyacinthus loves Apollo because he looks like Thamyris (Apollo's grandson).

Some K-drama angsty level of romance, eh?

The accurate hyacinth flower???

This has been a debate for quite a while now. Is the flower born from Hyacinthus' death the modern hyacinth or a different flower?

Even though most of us settle for the widely-known purple hyacinth (the flowers above), many argue that the flower can also be a larkspur, an iris, or a martagon lily.

I admit I prefer Hyacinthus' flower being the purple hyacinth or at least a similar ancestor. It's because Athena used to give Odysseus a curly hairstyle like the hyacinths, and that description is similar to the modern flower.

[...] Athena poured beauty on [Odysseus]— her abundance made him taller and more robust to look at. Then, on his head, she transformed his hair, so it flowed in curls like fresh hyacinths in bloom. - Homer, "The Odyssey"

Here is a detail that got me pondering.

In the "Abduction of Persephone" myth, when Persephone is returned to Demeter, she tells her mother about the abduction and we have this:

"[...] we were playing and gathering sweet flowers in our hands, soft crocuses mingled with irises and hyacinths, and rose-blooms and lilies, marvelous to see, and the narcissus which the wide earth caused to grow yellow as a crocus." - Homeric Hymn 2 to Demeter

So Persephone is collecting flowers when she is taken, and one of those flowers is the hyacinth. It's unexpected to think Apollo and Hyacinthus got together before the seasons were a thing.

Zephyrus wears hyacinths on his flower wreath

There is one account I can find that talks about this detail.

"You can see [Zephyrus], I think, with his winged temples and his delicate form; and he wears a crown of all kinds of flowers, and will soon weave the hyacinth in among them." - Philostratus the Elder, "Imagines"

It might be a simple thing, but it had me thinking. Does Zephyrus wear hyacinths in his flower crown as a reminder of his former lover (like Apollo wears laurels from Daphne's tree)? Is it out of the guilt he has later or a sadistic triumph?

We'll never know.

Chloris creates the hyacinth flowers

For those who don't know, Chloris is the goddess of flowers and the wife of Zephyrus.

We all agree that Apollo created the hyacinth flower in the memories of Hyacinthus, but Ovid claimed Chloris (or Flora, her Roman counterpart) to be the creator.

"I (Flora) first made a flower from Therapnean blood [Hyacinthus the larkspur flower], and its petal still inscribes the lament. You too, narcissus, have a name in tended gardens, unhappy in your undivided self. Why mention Crocus, Attis, or Cinyras' son, from whose wounds I made a tribute soar?" - Ovid, "Fasti"

I don't like this version not because it's a Roman source, but because having Flora/Chloris creating the flower will reduce the heart-wrenching of Apollo and Hyacinthus' myth. Apollo lost his beloved to the hands of death, so having him make the flower as a tribute to their love and to always remember him will have a bigger impact.

Apollo is Hyacinthus' uncle/granduncle/great-grandfather

Look, almost all Greek mythology couples are related in some way. Apollo and Hyacinthus are no exception.

If we have Amyclas and Diomede as Hyacinthus' parents, Apollo will be Hyacinthus' granduncle on his father's side and great-grandfather on his mother's side.

Lacedaemon (Hyacinthus' grandfather) is a son of Zeus and Taygete.

"[Eurotas] left the kingdom to Lacedaemon, whose mother was Taygete, after whom the mountain was named, while according to report his father was none other than Zeus." - Pausanias, "Description of Greece"

Lapithes is a son of Apollo and the father of Diomede.

"Lapithes, the son of Apollon and Stilbe, the daughter of Peneus." - Diodorus Siculus, "Library of History"

"Amyclas and Lapithes' daughter Diomede had Cynortas and Hyacinthus." - Pseudo-Apollodorus, "Bibliotheca"

If we have Clio as Hyacinthus' mother, Apollo will be his half-uncle because the Muses are the daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, the Titan goddess of memory.

I guess the only way to remove incest from Apollo and Hyacinthus is to have Clio as his mother but use the version where the Muses sprang into life from four rivers made by Pegasus.

Hyacinthus is the relative/ancestor of other heroes (Perseus, Heracles, Helen, etc.)

I used to make a family tree for ten generations of the mythical Spartan family (and an additional one for Perseus and Danae).

And since Perseus is the great-grandfather of Heracles, this means Hyacinthus is an ancestor of Heracles as well.

Here are some sources to back me up:

"[...] Lelex, an aboriginal was the first king in this land, after whom his subjects were named Leleges. Lelex had a son Myles, and a younger one Polycaon. [...] On the death of Myles his son Eurotas succeeded to the throne.." - Pausanias, "Description of Greece"

"On the death of Amyclas, the empire came to Argalus, the eldest of his sons, and afterward, when Argalus died, to Cynortas. Cynortas had a son Oebalus." - Pausanias, "Description of Greece"

"[Oebalus] took a wife from Argos, Gorgophone the daughter of Perseus, and begat a son Tyndareus, with whom Hippocoon disputed about the kingship, claiming the throne on the ground of being the eldest. With the end of Icarius and his partisans, he had surpassed Tyndareus in power, and forced him to retire in fear." - Pausanias, "Description of Greece"

"To Acrisius and Eurydice, Lacedaemon's daughter, was born a daughter Danae [...] When Acrisius later learned that she had given birth to Perseus, not believing that Zeus seduced her, he cast his daughter out to sea with her son on an ark." - Pseudo-Apollodorus, "Bibliotheca"

Apollo and Hyacinthus in the Trojan War???

Oh boy. This is the part many of you are screaming for me to explain.

I'll have to disappoint you because there aren't many texts about Apollo/Hyacinthus in the Epic Cycle (at least, I can't find all of them yet). But if we bust our brains, we can draw out some shower thoughts.

1) Was Hyacinthus alive by the time of the Trojan War, and did he participate?

The timeline is shaky and depends on which source you're looking at. Euripides' play "Helen" mentions the Hyacinthia festival, meaning our prince was born, died, and immortalized before the Trojan War.

"They will be gathered in a dance, at long last, or in games, or in all night feasts, in honor of Hyacinth, whom Phoebus Apollo killed during a discus throwing contest." - Euripides, "Helen"

On the other hand, Lucian's "Dialogues of the Dead" said that Hyacinthus was still in the Underworld after the Trojan War.

"Menippos: Where are all the beauties, Hermes? Show me around, I am a newcomer. Hermes : I am busy, Menippos. But look over there, to your right, and you will see Hyacinthus, Narcissus, Nireus, Achilles, Tyro, Helene, Leda - all the beauties of old." - Lucian, "Dialogues of the Dead"

From Lucian's work, either Hyacinthus will be resurrected much later after the war or never at all.

If we go by the version that Hyacinthus was deified before the war, I'm sure he will side with his homeland. Hyacinthus is a favorite hero-god of Sparta and great-granduncle to Helen, so there is no reason he won't participate in the war.

That leads us to the next point:

2) Can you imagine the angst potential for Hyapollo???

National pride is a big thing for Spartans. You know how Spartans mock other city-states and uphold their people. Hyacinthus must feel utterly betrayed when Apollo is revealed to be siding with the people who stole from his homeland. He loves the god, but he loves his homeland more.

However, unlike the previous point where there are sources to draw from, we got zero records of how Apollo and Hyacinthus interacted during the war. So it has to be up to our imagination.

When Apollo sent a plague on the Greeks, did he purposefully spare the Spartans because of Hyacinthus? Did Hyacinthus tell his men to not kill the children, lovers, or favored mortals of Apollo?

Did they avoid each other when the Olympian civil conflict broke out? Did they even talk to each other at all?

And most importantly, how would they heal after the Trojan War?

3) Do the Spartans celebrate the Hyacinthia in Troy?

Now, this one is funny. The Spartans worshipped Apollo and Hyacinthus together, yet Apollo is now the enemy of Sparta.

In history, Spartans did form truces and leave the battlefields to attend the Hyacinthia festival.

"Now the Lakedaimonians (Lacedaemonians), as the festival of Hyakinthos was approaching, made a truce of forty days with the men of Eira [in Messenia]. They themselves returned home to keep the feast." - Pausanias, "Description of Greece"

But this isn't the case in the Trojan War. No sources say the Spartans desert the battlefield in Troy to go home for the festival (makes sense because they have to travel across the sea, and their queen is still trapped in Troy)

So the question is: how do they celebrate them in Troy instead? Do they even celebrate the Hyacinthia when one of the honored gods is siding against them?

The Bluestone

I previously wrote another post about the most memeable moment of the evening.

And yes, my husband and I are still memeing on it.

Shortly after we paid for parking, as I was trying to pull up the tickets on my phone, my husband said that he was fairly certain he’d seen Josh Ramsay go by on one of those electric rental scooters like a lot of big cities have at the end of the alley.

“At least I think it was Josh. I think he’s got a Mohawk,” my husband said.

“Oh, no that would be Mike. Mike’s the Mohawk guy,” I clarified.

I was skeptical that he’d actually seen one of the band members for about 10 seconds, thinking that he’d probably just seen some fan who also happened to have a Mohawk. But then I watched a guy who looked suspiciously like Matt Webb ride by on another scooter before Ian Casselman, who I recognized when he looked directly at us, brought up the rear. We later had a confirmed Mike Ayley sighting by the tour bus when we walked from the lot to get in the line for entry, but I personally didn’t see Josh until they took the stage.

There had been no lack of enthusiasm for either of their openers, but following an extended break for the crew to rearrange the stage and the lead-in song of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck,” the whole audience absolutely exploded at the first sounds of the rain in the opening of “A Normal Life.” I don’t recall the order in which they appeared, but Josh was the last as he approached the microphone, which lit up neon blue with a little MT visible at its base when he took to it to belt out “IIIIIIIDDDDLLLEEEE HANDS THAT LONG TO SPILLLLLL—“

My husband and I were lucky to get a good spot on the balcony after discovering once we got out of the merch line that the entire bottom floor was jam-packed. The balcony, too, was almost at capacity. There must have been at least a couple hundred people stuffed into the former sanctuary.

Josh marveled at how they managed to cram so many people into the venue, observing with a chuckle that we looked “cozy.”

“Cozy” was the mild way of putting it. At the next break he remarked that it was “hot as fuck” on stage and couldn’t imagine what it must have been like in the audience.

With that being said, it came as all that much more of a surprise when, during “Haven’t Had Enough,” Josh climbed down off the stage and wound his way through the crowd on the main floor.

Before proceeding to dedicate the band’s performance of “Cross My Heart/Celebrity Status” to all of the fans who’d been with them since Masterpiece Theatre, Josh asked for a show of hands for how many there were in the audience. We weren’t close to the stage, but I watched his face light up at the sight of all the people who raised their hands and cheered.

“Where the hell have you been?” he asked with an indignant huff. But then he laughed, “just kidding, I know it took us long enough to get here.”

At one point the rest of the band left the stage, leaving Josh there picking out tunes on his guitar. He admitted that they were trying to figure out what song to do next before he asked the audience, “do you want to sing with me?”

I didn’t go in expecting it to be live karaoke, but that’s kind of how I would describe my experience. I’m not complaining in any way, though; the energy in that room was absolutely electric the entire time, and singing the duet part of “Good to You” back to Josh was nothing short of magical.

There was a woman somewhere on the main level who yelled “I love you Josh Ramsay!” after that song. Not missing a beat, Josh looked up and said, with a laugh, “well thank you, voice in the darkness!”

As I memed in the beginning, hearing “Haven” performed live was genuinely the closest thing I’ve ever had to a religious experience. I can’t estimate how many times I’ve listened to the entire album, but I was almost in tears by the end. Part of it may have been that I knew the show would soon come to a close, but most of it, I think, was feeling all the emotions in the room. I could sense all the love that every person in the audience had for the band—my favorite band, who no one I’ve ever talked to knew about before I introduced them—and that made me so happy. Crack idea : Wild bakes a big ass tray of weed brownies and accidentally leaves it on the kitchen counter because he straight up forgets to pack it away after leaving it to cool. And everyone helps themselves.

Time - A spacey, unable to focus type of high. I can't decide if it's funnier if he shows up to a meeting with Dark or Lullaby while he's high as fuck. Lullaby would think he's been compromised and set the castle medical staff on his ass, creating a larger spread of people who find out about him getting blazed on the job. Dark would keep it to himself but laugh his ass off for twenty straight minutes while Time tries and fails to make himself commanding because he keeps losing his train of thought mid sentence. Time is pretty convinced he's fine though. Really, he's good. He has no idea what anyone else is talking about.

Dark would also show up high to the next meeting because "You did it"

Twilight - has no goddamn idea what's happening but he's cool with it. Super relaxed and chill. He laughs at everything and raids the snack cabinet. He opens every single packet, eats two bites, then goes for a different snack. Ends up opening every single item, even their dried pasta stock. Think Wild just makes amazing brownies until it wears off and Twi realizes what the hell has happened.

Warriors - Immediatly naps it off. Seriously. THC puts him right to sleep. He gets to enjoy the spins for about ten minutes before he just pulls a Sky and crashes on the couch. Is very disappointed he missed the whole thing and is pissed about sleeping without doing his usual skincare routine first.

Sky - Absolutely loses his sense of time. He'll go get a drink at 2:20, sip his water, go back upstairs and then marvel at the fact that it's only 2:21 now because to him it felt like 10 minutes. The concept of time becomes his new favorite toy and he'll keep checking his phone every three minutes and losing his mind because what do you mean it only took him three minutes to pee?? He swears he was in the bathroom for half an hour, minimum.

Wind - Can't keep up with his discord feed because he has to read a message three times to absorb it. Plays games like shit because he can't focus when his messages keep blipping at him. Goes downstairs midstream to drink some water because "maybe hydration will fix me" but then forgets he was streaming and never goes back up because oohhh snacks. Becomes the second member of the Kitchen Snacking Club and for once is too high to start shit with Twilight. Him forgetting his stream becomes an in-house meme.

Legend - Figures out what happened almost immediately because this dude knows his drugs. He gets Hyrule to call in sick and then just relaxes in his room until it wears off, satisfied with himself because he stopped Hyrule from committing medical malpractice. Then he types out a big message to the group chat explaining what happened so no one freaks out. Doesn't realizes until later he never hit the send button.

Hyrule - Gets an impromptu day off and spends it just chilling in bed together all day and honestly it's great. I mean, it's not great how he got there and he's for sure going to be a huge ball of anxiety about it later but for now he's just a cute little giggling guy. Goes downstairs at some point for a drink and then forgets to go back upstairs and leaves Legend waiting for him.

Four - Tries welding something and ends up staring at that little blue flame for ten straight minutes because he's captivated by how pretty it is. Cannot focus for shit on a good day so he becomes absolutely useless. Starts projects, works for ten minutes, forgets he even started the project and repeat for an hour. Stares at the garage wall for thirty minutes because he's pondering the color of the paint. Eventually he gives up and just goes to join the snack crew in the kitchen.

Wild - HE FEELS REALY BAD OKAY??? Those brownies were meant to be for a party but he forgets to bring the Fun Tray and doesn't think about it past being disappointed he forget them at home. Not until he gets home, sees the empty tray and the pile of opened snacks on the kitchen counter and realizes Oh Fuck I Just Left An Unlabeled Tray Of Weed Brownies In The Kitchen.

This is getting away from airplanes and more toward dragons, I love the plane I think that a machine with the sole purpose of holding people tight and carrying them to far away places to see loved ones and new experiences is so beautiful, it's such a FASCINATING marvel of engineering prowess. This thing is BUILT on math and that's so cool. Every inch of her frame, every cubic centimeter of metal and plastic and cloth, are all accounted for in every flight equation. It's amazing. Water towers are so funny, why the hell did we refurbish an outdated means of water reservoirs, surely there could be a way to store more water more efficiently in treatment plants. Are they just for the Fun Cultural Aesthetic? Are they REALLY still that useful as a buffer?

Those little struts *are* at least partially used for banking but I think they're probably more like communications arrays combined with.. ballast isn't the right word. Counterweight? Idk. Beautiful regardless. Still love the little antennae

A little boat skims across a river, under a bridge where a highway passes over. I can tell it's moving fast, even from this high up. Tiny ecosystems exist beneath the hull, trillions of microbes, so far down beneath me now it's hard to make out any details other than the trail of white foam spray behind the boat.

2. what is your blog or graphic aesthetic or motif? why? It's mostly whatever @ppctts makes me because I CANNOT DO ANYTHING aesthetic XD but honestly she's made me so many pretty things and it's mostly around Kaylee being a sunshine, sunflower, star child and I am so grateful to Gin that she spends any amount of time making me these pretty things. I love her so much.

7. what universe have you never considered writing in? why? uuuuh well I'm sure there are some universes/fandoms that I'm not familiar with/even realize exist so those because of my ignorance LOL but I'm gonna say for the same reason DC stuff?? It's intimidating and like yeah I'm here for comics but I just don't know DC that well and I don't wanna try to manipulate DC story lines to the already complicated Marvel shit XD

16. how have your faceclaim choices changed over time? So Happy once upon a time was Michael Weatherly in an oooooold thing I wrote, back before I really had an idea of his character beyond the little bits we get in comics. But when I decided to bring him on for the sole purpose of simping after @ppctts the queen of fcs @dr-foster suggested Jay Ryan because of IT Chapter 2 and honestly I have not looked back.

For Kay, admittedly I had a very different FC for her adult verses but that person has since been what's the nice way of saying triggering and just not a good person. I don't always change my FCs over cancel culture stuff because I believe people are allowed to make mistakes but this was beyond even my comfort level. But I'm so glad I changed Kay's adult fc to be Joanna Garcia Swisher. She's precious and adorable and it really gave me an avenue to explore this kind of character further than what I had originally thought of, plus Joanna was originally my @cheeseburgersandwarbirds FC for Carol before we stumbled upon the amazing Yvonne and I thought it was a nice call back to our gaia days XD

19. who was the first faceclaim you remember using, who? for what canon? So throw back to gaia days in 2009 I was in fact using RDJ for my Tony. It wasn't too long after the first Iron Man movie came out when my lovely Noon invited me to come write with her. But it was before I knew much about the comics. So I decided to go back and throw myself into the comics reading from the very beginning when I realized Tony was a little different in the comics than the movie. He was younger, blue-eyed, had a sort of classic rat pack charm that didn't exactly translate into the movie because they were going more for his sarcastic vibe which was fine but I realized I really enjoyed comic book Tony more and around the same time there was this show called White Collar and just Neal Caffrey had all the charm, vibe, good nature, snark, intelligence, and suave that comic Tony had and so it wasn't very long that I started using Matt Bomer as my Tony FC also back in 2009 and honestly I've never looked back.

23. What skills have you gained by roleplaying? uuuuh typing rather quickly without looking at the computer???? XDD I don't know. Maybe some patience? I've learned a lot about myself, and I've learned that not everyone is going to like you. It stings sometimes but when I get focused on the people who love and care for me it outweighs a lot of the negative that comes with RPing.

Rude. Probably my Scream AU of Nancy Drew. I would love to write it, but I can't currently see going back and reacquainting myself with all the characters I'd planned to include.

I love writing humour, in dialogue or otherwise. Also descriptions packed with metaphor.

I. Hate. Plot. I'm here—on this planet, on the internet—to create atmosphere, not complex storylines.

Love it! Like @mercurygray, I speak some French and Italian, so those are the ones I tend to add if I'm going beyond English.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Gilmore Girls (specifically A Year in the Life), and I am ready to return to it TOMORROW if Amy Sherman-Palladino provokes me with more bad characterization.

What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

Nothing comes to mind! With both ships and fandoms, I pretty much jump when I wanna jump. I'm also always open to hearing requests.

What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?

Oh! Oh! What a question! It's my baby, my Pride and Prejudice AU, For Now, We May Remain Silent. I wrote it with my copy of Austen open on my desk next to my laptop, going line by line. I worked on it while coping with the final illness and death of someone I loved very much, so a lot of love went into it, and I'm glad I have the fic as a reminder of that time.

Here are her paintbrushes, disorganized and held in the loose grip of big, old coffee cans. The brushes rattle when Peter runs his finger over their handles, the faded red bristles spinning. A thick, flat brush with discoloured yellow bristles might be his favourite. Glancing over his shoulder, he furtively strokes the uneven hairs with his thumb. They all have this well-used quality that makes his chest clench confusingly. Michelle’s been living a whole life with these in her hand, he thinks, and I don’t know anything about it.
