Forgot about him. This is Jest from the book Heartless by Marissa Mayer and it's basically a backstory to the Queen of Hearts. It's a really nice book if you can handle the sad parts in it.

      Contando a estória em um ponto de vista narrativo, podemos enxergar com facilidade diversos pontos de vistas sem de preocupar o que é verdade ou mentira. Contudo, o maior ponto narrativo é a protagonista mostrando seus passos para enfim comprar uma seu grande confeitaria ao lado de sua criada e melhor amiga. Vida de Catherine vira de ponta cabeça quando sua mãe quer casa-la de qualquer jeito com o rei de copas. Um homem bem mais velho que cath e também muito imaturo para sua idade, agindo como um homem sem qualquer responsabilidade ou equilíbrio para ser rei. Ainda lutando para enfim ter sua cafeteria ela conhece o grande coringa no qual se apaixona. A garota se vê presa em uma aventura muito bonita e significativa para uma versão de como ela se tornou alguém sem coração. Uma versão muito mais plausível e compressiva do que as outras. Aqui, além de ser uma estória bonita de amor e sonhos, trata-se de uma boa fantasia e suspiros que o grande coringa faz a gente suspirar toda vez que é um grande cavalheiro. Um dos livros mais lindo e amáveis em que já li.

First crush on a fictional character:  Kurtis Trent. Seriously, before TRAOD I’d never been into any fictional characters. Kurtis was the first one that has charmed to that extent that I, in my late 20s, still go nuts over him…. daily. I was stunned by his cheeky behaviour, mysterious attitude and simply, there was something gripping that I felt drawn to him even though I believed he was a villain at first,

A book that made you cry: Geeez, so many. As a child, I cried during Harry Potter series. Most recently I cried during The Legacy story by Positively Amazonian, Six of Crows dulogy by Leigh Bardugo or The Queen of the Tearling trilogy by Erika Johansen.

Book that was spoiled for me:  The Grisha trilogy by Leigh Bardugo because I’ve read Six of Crows first and I was looking for fanart which spoiled few things for me. Also, some films I saw first before reading a book they were based on; sadly, I don’t remember titles.

First book you fell in love with: As a child, I fell in love with Enid Blyton’s The Famous Five series. I used to go to a public library every day to borrow a new book from the series as I couldn’t put them down and read too fast.

First Time you couldn’t stop smiling because of a book or character: I really do not remember who was first. Probably Fred and George from Harry Potter, because they are funny dorks. Pen Alcott (The Queen of the Tearling) or Kaz Brekker (Six of Crows) because they just melted my heart. And most recently Jest from the Heartless (I’ve not finished it yet) - he made me giggle stupidly in a train. And I giggle and smile because of Kurtis Trent in quality fanfictions on daily basis;D (is that a coincidence that most of them are seriously damaged male characters?!)

First Person that really impacted your reading: I’ve developed a passion for reading on my own. No one in my family reads that much, or at all. I am the Queen of Bookworms in our family… Does the librarian in our hometown library counts? Maybe it was her, when in my second grade we paid an obligatory visit to a library, and she willingly answered all of my nosy questions and showed me around individually. I was stunned by so many books at one place.

Inspiration For Muse: Honestly? My friends and the people around me. They give me so, so many great ideas, and if I'm being honest 90% of the stuff I create isn't even for me, it's made in the sole purpose of "hey, this person/this group of people would probably like this!" And I wouldn't change that for anything :) Music is also a big inspiration, as are certain books and movies.

2020 / 13 of 40 / Heartless

Review: Thank goodness for Marissa Meyer! After a string of meh books (and a couple of good ones!), I picked up Heartless, knowing how much I loved the Lunar Chronicles and hopeful that it would be just as good. Having just finished it, I’m pretty sure I’d read anything Marissa Meyer writes. I just love her style so much, and between the quirky world and vibrant characters, this one had some pretty perfect descriptions of baked goods that really had me wanting cake! I felt every second of Cath’s desperation and it was heartbreaking to know where she would eventually end up, and right up to the very last page I prayed that she would get a different ending. More than anything else, Marissa Mayer does magical things with retellings and now I just want to go and write my own.
