another idea: Zoé and Chloé bonding. Featuring their stunted emotional growth.
I think the base interest is pretty easy to establish. They both come from a similar lonely background, whether they want to admit it or not. Zoé has one (unnamed) friend from New York; the rest turned on her and bullied her once she dropped her posh act. Chloé also has one “friend” (Sabrina); the only other person who fit that description “turned on” her (Adrien). These two are isolated by their own actions, Zoé in pretending to be someone she’s not to fit in, and Chloé in bullying everyone around her. They need someone to provide that love and companionship they’re lacking.
And who else than a sibling? They’re literally a built in “I’m going to love you forever no matter what” system.
Of course it doesn’t start off that easy. Chloé would rather cut off her own foot than admit that she needs someone, much less some goody-two-shoes who’s now buddy buddy with Dupain-Cheng and the others. And Zoé, well, she’s seen firsthand how much Chloé is like their mother. She’s heard the stories from her new friends to fill in the blanks. She would rather not have a second Audrey Bourgeois in her life, thank you very much.
But, with all that happened in New York, forgive Zoé if she’s a little emotionally distant with her new friends. She knows now the consequences of lying about who you are, but it’s a self defence mechanism at this point. If her friends don’t know who she is and only see her as “sweet and gentle” Zoé, then they won’t drop her like her friends in New York did. Even then, it’s tiring. Zoé doesn’t know how long she can keep smiling and laughing and pretending to be perfectly nice all the time to keep her friends happy.
And nice is all they ever are. One time, Marinette made a sarcastic remark about something Mylene was interested in. Zoé was too shocked to laugh, playful sarcasm being something she hadn’t heard in weeks, but was glad she didn’t so much as giggle when Mylene’s lips began wobbling. Turns out Marinette hadn’t gotten much sleep the night before and had misheard what Mylene was talking about and misspoke as well. She would never be so disingenuous about blah blah blah Zoé was bored.
But, she’s terrified of being alone again, so she keeps it all to herself and comforts Mylene with the others.
She sees Chloé rip Sabrina a new one one day. As she’s watching the ginger run off, tearful and snotty, she realises that it’s just Chloé and her alone. She doesn’t like Chloé and the other girl certainly doesn’t like her, so who does she have to be all nice and careful for?
“Be careful. You wouldn’t want to lose the only friend you have left, now would you?”
Chloé is confused at first. No way Zoé just said that. Of all people? Then, she recognises the snide insult for what it is and all thoughts of analysis goes out the window. Chloé yells at her to mind her fucking business, throws in a threat or two of sending Zoé back to New York, and storms off angrily. Zoé’s satisfied smirk doesn’t go away until later that day when she’s hanging out with the girls and one of them asks her about her strange mood.
It continues like that, Zoé playfully egging Chloé on and messing with her sister when she has the chance. And if it reminds her of her time back in New York when she would hang out with that one friend and they would rib each other until one or both of them was doubled over with laughter, she refuses to acknowledge it.
Chloé is fed up eventually and starts to understand that her outburst and fits of rage do nothing to dissuade Zoé, so she asks Jeane whatever his name is for help and advice. He basically tells her to match Zoé’s energy, and after some careful planning, Chloé finally gets in the game.
The teasing goes back and forth, something Chloé used to do with Adrien back when they were kids, and before they know it, they’re actively seeking each other out after school to be the first to get a word in.
Then it spreads to before school. Zoé wakes Chloé up before her alarm to rant about meaningless topics, and Chloé steals Zoé’s favourite beanie and shoes to wear for herself.
Eventually, they’re talking regularly and hanging out occasionally, nothing planned just little meet-ups in each other’s rooms and impromptu sleepovers.
“Hey, you know how to paint nails?”
“Did the smog over in the states fuck up your head or something? Of course I–”
“Ok cool. Do this design for me” And then Zoé falls asleep half an hour later and Chloé “forgets” to wake her up.
And if Chloé stops calling Zoé her “half-of-a-sister” and starts referring to her properly. Well. It’s not a big deal anyway.

Things in the Miraculous movie that were way better than the show
Everything
Ok but actually, adjustments made in the movie that vastly improved the show’s canon:
Marinette’s awkwardness being equally applied to everyone she interacts with. Having her reputation be that she is a walking disaster makes Adrien’s (and Alya’s) kindness to her more impactful. Also makes Chloe’s bullying more believable. IN GENERAL makes Marinette’s character more believable.
In the same realm, the entire school and world not revolving around how perfect and cool Adrien is fixes SO. MANY. THINGS. The only person at school who seems to care about his status is Chloe, which not only makes his overall character less annoying, but also adds to Chloe’s characterization.
Speaking of Chloe, making her an actual character and not a bitch who torments her classmates relentlessly for no reason? Like yeah she’s still a bitch and a bully but she has sense of decorum and won’t take it too far if her reputation is on the line.
Sabrina having agency? Hello??
The subtilization of Marinette’s crush on Adrien. Like, hello, she has a lot of shit going on! She doesn’t have time to be swooning over her classmate all day! Yet another thing that makes her more believable.
TIKKI AND PLAGG CHOOSING THEIR OWN HOLDERS. Fuck Fu. Kwamis are literal eldritch gods, why wouldn’t they have a bit of agency?
The entire sequence of Marinette saving Fu. A clever way to have Fu meet the holder while still having Tikki be the one who chooses. Also way better storytelling for him to not intentionally put himself in danger to find a holder, makes the whole thing more organic.
The addition of the rule that the Tikki and Plagg only awaken when there’s a miraculous-level threat. Gives actual purpose to the role of the Guardian, imo.
Unpopular opinion but Tikki’s personality change was great. Once again, literal eldritch God!
Not to harp on this, but once again, the kwamis still having some level of control and AGENCY even when their holders are transformed. Tikki being in Ladybug’s yo-yo and actually guiding her was cool af and WHY WOULDN’T SHE BE ABLE TO DO THAT???
Ladybug and Chat having more general abilities BUT not having their special abilities right away. The sequence where Chat caught the invisible bullet? Cool af. And Ladybug NOT having the reset button right away really raised the stakes and honestly just felt right. It was really rewarding and triumphant when she used it towards the end.
The earrings/ring glowing as a way to communicate when one of them is not transformed. Such a good and cool idea.
Adrien and Marinette frequently hanging out together in a group with Alya and Nino without it being weird!!! Jesus!! Let the kids be kids!!!!!
Gabriel Agreste being less of a piece of shit.
Chat Noir’s “You’re my sidekick!” To, “I’m your sidekick!” progression. Followed by Ladybug’s, “we’re partners!” Immaculate.
Marinette gaining confidence as Marinette from being Ladybug AND ALSO SPECIFICALLY from her partnership with Chat Noir. LET THE SUPERHERO CHILDREN HAVE A MEANINGFUL AND UPLIFTING PARTNERSHIP FFS
Speaking of, LADYNOIR HANGING OUT
LADYNOIR PLAYFIGHTING
Ladybug liking Chat romantically maybe before the 5th fucking season? Making Chat’s first confession less cringey bc she actually really likes him back and totally wants to kiss him? Being internally conflicted ab it?
Marinette confessing right after she gently lets Chat down for the first time, literally perfect angst set up
Adrien BEING ABLE TO STAND UP TO HIS FATHER. Fuck Sentiadrien.
Gabriel being capable of feeling human emotions
Identity reveal

I know you’re more of an “Adrien centered” criticism/defense blog but I am curious about your opinion on this.
What is your opinion on the “Chloe deserves/doesn’t deserve redemption” situation or the “Chloe wasn’t meant to be redeemed and there for what happened to her is fair game” stance?
---
My thoughts on the Chloé situation are kinda complex. Back when the show only had three seasons, I did think Chloé’s character trajectory made sense. Sure, she’d saved people when she was acting as Queen Bee, but she still treated her classmates the same. In fact, she started treating Sabrina worse than before because she considered being anything other than Queen Bee hanging out with Ladybug was slumming it. For me, it really was a 50/50 on whether or not Chloé would be redeemed or fall into actual villainy.
Because, here’s how I saw it: I didn’t think Chloé was an actual villain-villain in seasons 1-3. She was Marinette’s school nemesis and a decidedly defanged one. Marinette was scared of her exactly once, in Origins, a flashback episode meant to showcase how much more confident being Ladybug has made Marinette that she views Chloé as small potatoes. The season 3 finale could have been the culmination of an arc where Marinette accidentally causes Chloé to become a villain and ally herself with Hawk Moth in the future.
And it would have been caused by Marinette, even if unintentionally. It would have shown how good intentions can have unforeseen consequences, especially when you don’t know what you’re helping someone with or what they want before you do so. Marinette doesn’t really understand what she’s trying to help people with whenever she does try to be helpful, because she assumes what they want and need instead of asking and listening (like in Reflekdoll, the latter part of Ikari Gozen and Quilt Trip). Many heroes create their own villains this way, and Marinette could have done so as well since she was the one to strengthen Chloé’s bond with the person who taught her to be an entitled bully and then she dragged her feet on whether or not she could use the Bee Miraculous.
The season 3 finale shows Chloé brought to a new low. The following New York Special gives us a glimpse of a Chloé who is withdrawn, like she’s reconsidering her life. This could have led to Chloé deciding that she would have revenge on Ladybug for leading her on and then dumping her (as a teammate). But, it could have also have led to Chloé realizing that, while Ladybug wasn’t her friend, Sabrina was, and she pushed the latter away in pursuit of being the Bee Miraculous holder. Chloé could have gained new insight that would have led her to start working on how she treats those closest to her, finally starting to treat her schoolmates with decency and, maybe, with time, kindness.
Then season 4 came along and all that foreshadowed introspection was dumped out the window in favor of having Chloé do cartoonishly stupid school antagonist character things. In season 4, where this kind of hijinks are so incredibly low-stakes that it’s both laughable to see, and laughable to realize the writers think this is good television.
I think the writers realized this too, because then comes season 5 with the retcon that, actually, Chloé is an evil mastermind who is so heinous that she orchestrated a traumatic event that led to Marintette’s character flaws and therefore Marinette should be forgiven for her flaws and Chloé blamed for them. Never mind the damage this episode does to Kim’s character, turning him from an oblivious to jock to a total creep, it also tries to convince us that Chloé is this big threat despite that it happened at least a year ago in-universe and that she had never done anything even close to this bad since. It just makes no sense when contrasting with the early seasons, where Marinette treats Kim as just one classmate among many and Chloé as a low-threat nuisance.
The problem was that they decided that they didn’t want Marinette to hold any responsibility for anything she does anymore. This is why they wrote the episode ‘Derision’, to absolve Marinette of all responsibility in her stalking of Adrien, even though them making it a serious trauma response instead of a cartoon-logic joke means that now she absolutely should take responsibility for her behavior and get therapy. Because they wanted to give Marinette a retroactive justification, the episode just doesn’t mesh with the rest of the show. But, like, the writing in Miraculous seasons 4-5 is so bad it’s of course never just about a single episode, it’s all about how the Miraculous writers don’t know how to build up arcs that then come to a logical conclusion, which is why all their story arcs’ endings fall flat and leave viewers thinking “where’s the rest of it?” when they’re not considered one of the worst finales for a show.
Basically, making Chloé a villain could have worked, but it would have required her getting built up into such a status. The Chloé of seasons 1-3 isn’t a monster, she’s a brat. But the writers didn’t want to do that work despite wanting that story, thinking some repetitive episodes of Chloé being a brat some more will accomplish the same thing. So, Chloé just keeps performing petty bullying until the writers think the viewers forgot that she’s like this because of her mother, who Marinette reunited her with, all the while pretending the woman who calls her by the wrong name to her face on purpose has done nothing wrong as a parent other than “leave”, before she randomly turns on Miss Bustier and starts working with Hawk Moth for supposedly no reason in Collusion.
And, like, the thing that really grinds my gears is that it worked. So many people forgot that Chloé’s bullying was modeled to her by her mother, who Marinette reunited her with. Marinette repeatedly tries to fix abused kids’ relationships to their parents with no regard for how that could harm them in the long run (Adrien, Chloé and Kagami). It’s a pattern, but the show thinks Marinette’s missteps shouldn’t be pointed out because she “had good intentions” when her intentions in the instances of The Bubbler, Style Queen and Ikari Gozen were nothing more than: “Well, my parents are great, so these kids are obviously safe with the parents I just saw make them miserable!” The accusing finger for Chloé’s behavior should be pointed at Audrey. Marinette being “triumphant” over Chloé because Chloé is now stuck with the abuser who made her is already iffy without the added grossness of Marinette being the one who reunited them in the first place.

Touché- A Chlogami ficlet
So a discord server I am on is doing a fun thing with 750ish word fics for Pride Month. I figured I'd post anything I wrote here too. So without further ado.
Post Glaciator 2, things have been going better for Marinette. Chloé seems like a non issue, though she has been ‘excused’ from gym class regularly. Building up her courage, Marinette decides to attend fencing class again to get closer to Adrien. However when she arrives…
The two fencers lashed back and forth along the strip. Kagami’s bright red uniform stood out, the other fencer was dressed in a striking yellow.
The color of Adrien’s hair… Marinette sighed.
The match was intense. Kagami’s quick and controlled style versus her foe’s brute aggression. Marinette couldn’t imagine anyone else but Adrien giving Kagami such a fight, so she inched closer to the watching crowd to cheer him on silently. Other students gave her room in the semi-circle. He really is going all out… If he’s tired after, maybe I could go get him a water. Then he’d be so happy he’d ask me out. He’d propose over dinner. We’d get married and have three hamsters and a kid named Louis.
“Decided to come back?” A voice rippled on the edges of Marinette’s pink daydream.
“Yeah.” She wasn’t fully present.
“It’s good to see you here again.”
“Yeah.” She was drifting closer to the surface.
“Maybe we can practice a little when they’re done,” the voice was starting to register.
Marinette’s head craned around slowly to the person beside her. She recoiled in shock, throwing her hands up and dropping her foil. “Adrien!”
His smile was everything. He stooped to pick up her foil. “Hey Marinette.”
She lunged for it, they bumped heads and she backpedaled. Her world was reeling, “But- you- if- out there- here- who?”
“TOUCHE!” Mr. D’agincourt called, blessedly pulling attention away from Marinette.
On the strip Kagami stood over her fallen foe, with her saber’s point to her opponent’s chest. Theirs was thrust against her thigh, just shy of a legal strike. Both fencers could be heard gasping from within their helmets.
Economy of motion, Kagami withdrew her weapon and reversed its grip, offering her opposite hand to help her opponent up. The other fencer swatted the hand away, but then grabbed Kagami’s forearm and pulled themselves up with her aid.
D’Agincourt was effusive as he approached, turning to the fencer in yellow, “Splendid! Magnificent! Such progress in such a short amount of time! Control, control is the only thing you lack. You have chosen your partner well to learn that lesson.”
Kagami pulled off her helmet, sweat matted her hair but only served to enhance her austere beauty. She squared her shoulders under the instructor’s praise. Beside Marinette, Adrien noted lightly, “And I’ll end up with fewer bruises after each lesson.”
The unanswered question returned, “But if you’re here, then who-?”
The Fencer in yellow pulled off their helmet and shook out a long blonde ponytail.
“CHLOÉ?!?!!”
Annnnnnnd all eyes were on Marinette again.
Kagami smiled in greeting while the blonde demon rolled her eyes. Kagami stepped off the strip, turning the spectacle into a more private affair. She pulled off her gloves as she approached. “It is good to see you, Marinette. We have not had enough occasions to ‘hang out’ as you had suggested.”
Marinette was still stun locked. “But- you- how- her- here? SWEATING!”
Chloé smirked. “I think she’s broken.”
“Hsst!” Kagami chided, thumping her saber lightly against Chloe’s shin.
Adrien supplied, “Chloé started fencing with us a few weeks ago. Kagami brought her, and she’s really taken to it!”
Marinette’s mind was clearing, but still she was having a hard time believing. “But you hate gym class!”
Chloé chuffed, then grinned. “The games they play are ridiculous, utterly ridiculous. Stabbing people is more my style.”
To Marinette’s surprise, Kagami snorted in mirth.
Marinette looked back at her, “but… why?”
Kagami’s smile returned, triumphant. “Because, I win Marinette.”
“Win?”
Kagami’s smile broadened, with a hint of familiar smirk slipping in. “You called my manga nonsense. I wished to prove you wrong. Enemies to rivals.”
Kagami stepped sideways, hooking her arm around Chloé’s waist.
She added, “Rivals, to lovers.”
Chloé’s head snapped to the side, but there was color on her cheeks. She looked back at the group and leaned slightly into Kagami’s side.  “I have no idea what she is on about with her books, but I must say I like the outcome.”
That was too much, “You… two?!”
Chloé perked, an idea forming late. “She’s got a sword... Does this mean I can stab Marinette?”
Kagami hissed again, but squeezed the other girl, “Behave, or I shall be forced to humble you once more on the field.”
Chloé was already pulling on her helmet again. “I love it when you try.”

Chloe’s Story Pt 2
Marinette almost groaned as Chloe called her, gesturing to Alya to wait a second. What did she want? She picked up the phone, and sighed. “What is it Chloe?” she said, only to be interrupted by coughs and sobs. Marinette sighed again. “If this is about bird poop on your designer shoes again, I’m hanging up.” Alya snickered behind her, making her best friend laugh too. Soon, they were both laughing, not even noticing that Chloe hung up. She stared as her screen went black, her sobs slowing down as she remembered. Marinette and Chloe weren’t friends. She had thought they were, helping her expose Lila, gaining everyone back. But of course, the whole point was so Marinette could have Alya back, and Chloe was left alone, just like she always was. She wiped her tears away furiously, groaning. Almost resigned, the heartbroken teenager began walking back to her house, slowly. When she reached the hotel, she didn’t expect a fork whizzing past her head. She dodged it, but barely, grazing her cheek enough to draw blood. Chloe hissed in pain, but couldn’t say she was surprised. Her mother must have found out about the affair. The screams could have been heard from New York, her parents fighting loud and violent. Multiple things could be heard crashing, but none of them relented, instead screaming louder. Chloe was about to back out when her mother stormed up to her, livid. “YOU! YOU WERE A DOWNRIGHT BRAT FROM THE START CLEO!” Audrey screamed, slapping Chloe across the cheek. She gasped, but didn’t react much more than that. After all, she was almost used to it. Audrey slapped her again. “HOW DARE YOUR FATHER CHEAT ON ME!” she spat, as if it was Chloe’s fault. The teenager swallowed, knowing it was about to get even more violent. Audrey picked up the charcuterie board Nadia and Andre had abandoned and grinned almost sadistically. “It would have been so much better if you weren’t born at all.” she said, then hit her daughter on the head with the board, splitting it in two. Chloe yelped in pain, her vision suddenly dizzy, staggering. “I-” she started, but her mother beat her to it. “You’re just a spoiled rich brat, just like your father.” she said, and grabbed a champagne bottle. “I wish you didn’t exist, but it’s better late than never.” she cackled, then smashed the bottle against Chloe’s head. She swayed, her vision slowly fading as she staggered to the floor. Then, the whole world went black.

This is the next part of the first little snippet I posted. Let me know if I should continue, or it’s fine as just a sad two shot. I’ve also started writing the aftermath of The Corey Curse, and @animechefgirl454 has also given me ideas for it! Feel free to share opinions and give requests, and have a great day ❤️❤️❤️!

Tales of Bloody Bug and Chat Noir - Chapter 67 - Erupt
Beginning || Previous || Next
Adrien sat hunched over Daizzi’s anklet. His brows knotted in concentration as his eye twitched in frustration. He hit the vital points again, but no reaction. He gritted his teeth as he tried again, but nothing. He tried again and again until he groaned and threw the tool and Daizzi’s anklet into the hair. He slammed his face onto the table as the tool clattered beside him and Daizzi caught her anklet. Plagg peeked over from the middle of the table and grinned while Daizzi approached Adrien.
“Adrien, I do appreciate what you’re trying to do, but could we maybe, I don’t know, take a break?” Daizzi asked.
“No. I have this. I know I do. I just need to do better,” Adrien remarked.
“I know, but we’ve been at this for a few weeks, and it just feels, I don’t know, exhausting.”
Adrien sat up. “But I haven’t gotten it right. I have to get it right. I have to help set you all free.”
“I know, and I appreciate that, but I don’t think this is helping you. I think you should take a break and relax.”
“I’ve already tried that multiple times and it has only gotten worse.”
“Oh, come now. I’m sure it’s not all that bad. There was the pool, and-.”
“Don’t remind me of the pool. I hated seeing Alix body slammed by that ox. I wanted to do something, maybe not beat Kim up like Chloe and Zoe did, but I don’t know what. Not to mention seeing certain people dressed in swimsuits like that just… I don’t want to talk about it.”
Plagg smirked as he sauntered over to Adrien and Daizzi. “What’s the matter, Adrien? Your frustrations getting to be too much for you?”
“Not enough to have you destroy them,” Adrien hissed.
“It’d be much easier if you were just free of them,” Plagg remarked.
“But who’s to say they won’t come back? I mean, there’s still Gabriel who isn’t really doing the best at reconnecting with Adrien. Granted Adrien isn’t trying either as he’s always here, but what can you do? There’s also Felix who is still trying to pursue Kagami even after Alix told him that Kagami wasn’t interested. Which also didn’t end well when the two got into a fist fight. There’s also his mortal carnal desires taking root after Mayura removed the associated emotions with his trauma that sorta, y’know, clears that up. But not good since he’s without a mortal companion to engage in such activities with.”
Adrien tsked. “Even if I did, I wouldn’t do whatever it is that stuff is. Thinking and doing whatever comes after kissing are two very different things.”
“From the insults I gather from Alix for Felix, you just need to think with this other head she speaks of,” Plagg commented.
“I… I don’t even know what that means. Whatever! It doesn’t even matter. Look, I’d rather just forget all about those feelings, but not have them destroyed, alright? I can… I can deal with this.”
Plagg grumbled as he rolled his eyes and returned to the center of the table.
“Well, uh, can we still take a break? Oh! How about music? You and Nino seemed to enjoy that, right? It got your mind off things, right?” Daizzi suggested.
            “Not for long,” Adrien admitted.
“What about hanging out with Nino then? You two seemed to have fun at the pool, and I’m sure he misses you, right?”
“Not yet. There will be time to relax once I get this finished. I know how to do it. I just need to do it right.”
“What about Rose’s sweet sixteen party thing she’s having today? That one Alix went to?” Plagg suggested.
“Oh! Yes! That should be fun,” Daizzi added.
            “Marinette’s there,” Adrien remarked.
“But… I thought you were tolerating her?”
“I am, but that doesn’t mean I want to spend more time with her than I have to. C’mon, Daizzi, give me the anklet.”
Daizzi hesitated before she gave Adrien the anklet. Adrien held the tool up to the anklet when Kagami caught his eye. He pursed his lips as she stared at him.
“What is commotion here?” Kagami asked.
“Nothing you need to worry about, Kagami. Why are you even here?” Adrien asked.
“Spending time with the heroes, or as I told Mother. I’ve grown to love this place for the quiet serenity it offers away from the culture shock of Paris. It is also where I’ve been meeting the Lee girl. So, not a complete lie to Mother, but not an entire truth either.”
“Oh yeah? What brought this change? I thought you always did as your mother told you.”
“I do and am, but your sister opened my eyes to a truth hidden under my nose. One that I failed to realize of my own accord. I still possess a hint of luxury you westerners flaunt so freely: choice. Even as I remain loyal to Mother as a modern day onna-musha should, but I do have a duty to accept orders that I want, not because I’m told.”
“Oh? And where was this before when you were ordered to marry me?” Adrien countered.
“I didn’t believe I had such a luxury at the time. I believed my own wants didn’t matter and that I should be honored to receive and follow such orders. That, and I didn’t hate the idea of being betrothed to you. That was until you found out and actively sabotaged it. You and Felix both.”
“What does that even matter now? You still upset over it all? And what about Alix? Wasn’t she an obstacle to you?”
“I have forgiven her part in it as I recognized the true root cause. You refused to be content with what could have been a successful empire between the Agrestes and Tsurugis. Felix is a misguided fool that believes he is love, when any love he had long soured into obsession.”
“Don’t turn this around on me just because I didn’t love you. Just because I loved the most amazing, wonderful girl there ever was instead of you. Just because you would have trapped me into a life I hated just as Gabriel had tried to do.”
“I didn’t want or need your love, Adrien. I needed a secure future where I wouldn’t worry where my next meal would come from, where I would sleep, or if I would lose any commodity. Mother made it clear she wouldn’t be around forever, and while she’d do what she can to ensure my future, I had to pull my own weight to secure all these things. I agreed with the arrangement because I could do just that, until you ruined it. Pushed Mother into making a deal with devil herself. You and Felix.”
“Ok, and? What do you want? An apology?”
“Save your empty words. I want you to understand, and you won’t until I tell you.”
            “Understand what?”
“Me. We are supposed to be friends, however in becoming friends with Alix, I realized how we aren’t truly friends. I wanted to be a better friend, but I felt an obstruction, a barrier of sorts. It took some meditation and self-reflection to realize that I am angry that you put my future at such a terrible risk. I’m angry that you forced Mother to make a risky deal with a devil. Everything we’ve ever done is for the future of the Tsurugi line, and you and Felix put it all in jeopardy. Do you understand?”
“No, I don’t. Look, I don’t care about that right now, Kagami. I have other things to contend with.”
            “Like what?”
            “Well, like-,” Adrien started.
            “Avoiding Gabriel,” Daizzi remarked.
            “Avoiding Felix,” Plagg added.
            “Isolating himself,” Daizzi continued.
“Letting his carnal desires pile up,” Plagg continued.
            “Plagg!” Adrien yelled.
“Oh, and trying to set us free. Though he’s not doing the greatest,” Daizzi commented.
“I’m doing my best, ok?” Adrien yelled.
Kagami moved around the table to where Adrien sat. “Your best is not always your good enough. Learn that lesson now. Now, show me what you’re doing with that tool.”
“Oh, you think you can do better?”
“I know I can do better. I am better.”
“Fine. Watch, and we’ll see if you really are.”
Adrien hit the vital points once to show Kagami before he handed her the anklet and tool. She held up the anklet, twirled the tool in her free hand, and struck the vital points, sure and true. The anklet flashed once and Daizzi’s body glitched out. They watched Daizzi glitch until she stabilized into the larger size Plagg, Tikki, and Fluff were.
“Oh, wow! Look at me, Plagg! I’m back to normal already!” Daizzi cheered.
“What? How did you do that right the first time?” Adrien demanded.
Kagami dropped the tool on the table in front of Adrien. “I told you. I’m better. But if you want a suitable answer, you are sloppy. Your movements are hesitant and lacking discipline. A terrible embarrassment for someone that is meant to be a champion fencer. Though I guess the French’s standards really are just that lacking if someone like you is a champion.”
Adrien’s jaw dropped as he glared at Kagami.
“Excuse me. May I have my anklet, please?” Daizzi asked Kagami.
Kagami nodded and handed Daizzi the anklet. Daizzi grinned as she absorbed the anklet into her body. Kagami shot Adrien a look before she started for the exit. Kagami stopped and glanced back at Adrien.
“A moment of clarity hit me. Though I’m angry at your past actions, I can overlook with relief that I wasn’t shackled to someone like you. If I can truly feel love like that is still something I’m debating with myself, but I do know I would have been miserable chained to someone as irresponsible, stubborn, undisciplined, privileged child that you are. Almost feels fitting you were with a girl and not a real woman. You wouldn’t have deserved her otherwise.”
Adrien gritted his teeth, stood up, and slammed his hands on the table. “And who are you to judge me? You said it yourself that we barely know each other. You don’t know everything I’ve gone through as Adrien or as Chat Noir. You don’t know how it has impacted me and what’ve had to do. I may not come from a rigid, cold, unloving family like yours, but don’t dare assume I’m any of those things when you don’t even know me.”
“Then why are you proving me right with this little tantrum? Why are you showing me that you, for all you say, are just as bad, if not worse? As you stand there, screaming, yelling, slamming the table, all to claim you aren’t everything I just said. All to throw judgements back at me, made out of irrational emotion rather than logic.”
“Because I can at least say I’m human and wasn’t raised to be a mindless robot to follow the orders of my parents. What’s your excuse?”
“I have none nor do I need one. I am fine with how I am. Better than being like someone like you.”
“If you don’t like this, then good luck with Alix. She’s no better.”
Kagami chuckled as she turned back to Adrien with a smile. Adrien’s eyes widened at the sight of a such a small, genuine smile.
“Alix is so much more than you ever will be. It’s honestly adorable how you think you can mimic what she is,” Kagami remarked.
            “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“I know you’re not that stupid and see what you’re doing. I remember she was just as angry once too, like how you are now. However, she wore her anger better than you. Granted she had the bite to back her bark, which I do admire. Unlike you who is all bark and no bite. If you’re going to copy your sister, you might as well go all the way, otherwise you just look like a little bitch.”
“Oh fuck you! Just because I’m angry and lashing out doesn’t make me like Alix. I can be angry if I want to be.”
“Right. That’s why you’re using it to shield yourself like she did. That’s why you’re lashing out as I saw her do. Right, you’re just being angry because you can and seldom allowed it to be seen before, or am I wrong?”
            “Not entirely,” Plagg remarked.
            “Plagg!” Adrien scolded.
“Look, as much as I love this circle, I don’t. You’re both wrong. Now shut up,” Plagg hissed.
“Yeah. I don’t have much context, but you aren’t doing yourself any favors by staying here, cooped up in your head, and with all that frustration. It’s just… making things worse,” Daizzi remarked.
“Agreed. How about this, we allow Kagami to reset all the kwamis, while you relax,” Plagg suggested.
“Oh, yes! That way, we’ll all be reset, and Xuppu, Pollen, Wayzz, Trixx, and myself will be able to choose new holders. Kagami will earn favor among the heroes, Adrien gets a break, and we’ll all be free. It’ll be one last problem.”
“I… but… what about the others? Gabriel, Felix, and these… horrid thoughts?”
“What’s going on with Felix?” Kagami asked.
“He still wants you,” Plagg answered.
“What? I thought Alix said she was going to talk to him?”
“Well, you see, she sorta tried. But Felix didn’t believe. And then it escalated into a fight. And they got hurt. And they got in trouble. And Felix is still set on winning you back,” Daizzi said.
Kagami tsked. “I was hoping to not have to deal with him, but it cannot be avoided. I’ll see you later, Adrien.”
“Where are you going now?” Adrien asked.
“To deal with your delusional cousin. Maybe that’ll help with this frustration you’re experiencing. Though do work on it. It does us no good to have one of leaders as a crying child.”
Adrien opened his mouth, but Kagami teleported out of the realm. He sighed and rested his head on the table.
“Adrien? Are you ok?” Daizzi asked.
‘Just… leave me alone,” Adrien said.
            “But-!”
“It’s fine, Daizzi. I’ll be here with him,” Plagg said.
Daizzi nodded and vanished. Plagg sighed and moved closer to Adrien.
“You really need to work on this, Adrien. If you will not let me get rid of those frustrations, you must do something. Especially after that little display. Such a display that wouldn’t have happened if you didn’t let these feelings fester into the chaos that they are,” Plagg admonished.
            “I know, I know. I… I’m sorry.”
“Sorry means nothing if you don’t do something about it. So, will you do something about it?”
            “I will. I just… I need a moment.”
“Very well, but once this moment is over, I expect to see you resolving these chaotic feelings. I will not tolerate them any longer, understood?”
Adrien nodded as he adjusted his head to rest it on his arms. Plagg settled into a loaf near Adrien and purred loudly. Adrien’s eyes grew heavy as he focused on Plagg’s purr as he fell asleep.
~~
Alix watched Rose mingle with her guests as the party died down. She glanced at her phone at the time and decided it was time. She grinned, slinked through the shadows, and scooped Rose up. Rose screeched and broke out in giggles.
“Alix! What are you doing?” Rose asked.
“I’m stealing the princess away to a faraway realm. The time has finally come.”
Rose shrieked as Alix carried her away. Alix darted between the remaining guests as she headed to a secluded area. Alix touched the gem on her bracelet, and they were teleported to the heroes’ realm. Alix set Rose down, took her hand, and led her out into the plaza.
“What’s all this about, Alix?” Rose asked.
            “You’ll see. Come along.”
Rose rolled her eyes but followed Alix. They stepped up to the fountain and the statue of Badb. Rose gasped as she gazed up at the statue.
            “I… when was this added?”
“Not long after the accident. Tikki made them to immortalize and honor our fallen comrades. I realize it may be a little shitty bringing you here on a day about you, but I also didn’t have any other evil queen to bring you to.”
            “What?”
“Juleka and I had talked. We had this whole thing planned for the two of you. I was going to steal you away where she would have waited for you here for a big birthday surprise just for you two. And, well, yeah. Something about wanting it to be like something out of a fairytale with the evil queen wanting to steal the princess away.”
Rose’s eyes misted over as she burst out laughing. “Oh, Jewel. I would have loved to have seen that. If only you were still here. Alas, you’re not. This is no fairytale, not like we always talked about. There is no happily ever after for us anymore. I’m sorry I wasn’t better.”
            “Rose?”
“I’m sorry. I just… I try not to think about it. The sacrifice she made for me. She threw me into the bubble, and I tried to retrieve her with Fetch, but it didn’t reach her in time. The ball was caught in the blast with Juleka. I know why she did it. I know she wanted to save me over herself, but the fact that I couldn’t return the favor, it hurts. And it always will, but I won’t let it stop me. She wanted me to live, and it still hurts, but I’ll live for her.”
Alix opened her mouth when Luka stepped out around the corner of the statue and glared at Rose.
“And here you are at long last. What took you so long to pay proper respects to the girl you claimed to have loved?” Luka hissed.
“Pardon? What are you talking about?” Rose demanded.
“You know full well what I’m talking about. It’s been months since that event. Months since you moved on so easily. Do you even care that she’s gone? Did you even love her?”
“I… no. I know I don’t need to justify myself to you. I know full well I loved Juleka. I know that her absence has been hard on myself. I know there isn’t a moment that I don’t miss her. However, I won’t sit here and explain myself to you.”
“Because you’re scared of realizing you never truly loved her. Because you can easily go on smiling and laughing even though she’s only been gone a few months. You’ve clearly moved on from her. Must have been easy when you had someone like her.”
“Don’t be afraid to speak my name, Luka. Or is there something you’re holding off for someone as special as me?” Alix challenged.
“Oh, yes, yes I do. When are you going to set things right? When are you going to undo that mess? Don’t you think you’ve waited long enough?” Luka demanded.
“Nothing is going to happen. Everything that did and has will remain as it is,” Alix answered.
            “What?”
            “I didn’t stutter.”
“You have the power of time at your disposal. You can go back in time and fix all this. You can set things right, but you’d rather everyone just suffer, is that it? You’d rather people just wallow in misery over their loved ones being gone just to keep whatever you’ve gained so far.”
“No. I agree with Fluff that things should be left alone. That if we tried to change things, we could be dooming others. We may have lost Porcelet, Badb, Fennec, and Bomb Bee this time, but if we go back, who will be lost instead? Maybe instead of Badb, it’d be the sniveling lost rabbit Harlequin. Would you rather that?” Alix challenged.
“Enough! Luka, we’re all living with this pain. It’s not just you. Please, you must understand that. You’re not alone,” Rose butted in.
“He won’t. This little fucker has played victim in everything. Begging for pity and people to take it easy on him. I bet even his little ‘I was bullied and that’s why I’m so withdrawn’ is all bullshit at this point,” Alix retorted.
Luka tensed up as he glared down at Alix.
“Alix, don’t. Now is not the time to antagonize anyone,” Rose whispered.
“Bullshit! This fucker was just doing that to you and you, what, want to reason with him? Fuck that. Listen here you little bitch. You aren’t the only one that is suffering. You aren’t the only one that lost someone important. We’re all still mourning in our own ways. Just because it’s not your brand of wallowing in self-loathing, pity, and whatever else, doesn’t mean we’re not all still going through it all. So, do us all a favor and get over yourself, prick!” Alix roared.
Rose grimaced as she shielded her eyes and looked at the ground. Alix and Luka glared daggers at each other until Tikki materialized between them. Tikki crouched down and glanced up at them with a cheeky smirk.
“I believe this is one of those moments that mortals would kiss each other,” Tikki remarked.
Luka’s face flushed red as he covered his mouth and turned away.
Alix shook her head as she looked at Tikki. “Seriously?”
“What? You two just radiate tension. Well, normal tension for you. But him? Oh boy! It’s like those terrible, yet engaging soaps that are on your TV programs. You know where the guy hates the girl, but really wants to-.”
Tikki was cut off as Luka teleported out of the realm.
            Alix snorted. “Good riddance.”
            “Alix, that was-,” Rose started.
“What did I miss out here?” Kagami asked.
Alix, Rose, and Tikki all turned to see Kagami across from them.
“Nothing important. Just an over-sensitive little bitch,” Alix remarked.
“You mean other than Adrien?” Kagami asked.
“What do you mean? What happened?”
“We had a talk. He wasn’t happy about it. Then I went to Felix. Talked with him too. He didn’t like it either.”
Alix groaned. “Felix can wait. Where is Adrien?”
“In the meeting room resting on the table with Plagg next to him purring like a motorboat.”
“Thank you. One moment, Rose,” Alix said.
Alix ran into the keep to the meeting room. Tikki followed Alix as they stepped into the room to see Adrien asleep and Plagg beside him. Alix moved and shook Adrien awake while Tikki scooped up cat Plagg. Adrien groaned as he slowly lifted his head.
“Wh-what time is it?” Adrien asked.
“Time to tell me what happened earlier,” Alix answered.
“Alix? Oh, uh, it was-,” Adrien started.
“He and Kagami had a little spat. Kagami told him how she felt about what he’s done in the past, and how much of a bitch he’s become,” Plagg answered.
            “Is this true?” Alix asked.
            “M-more or less,” Adrien admitted.
“Alright, Adrien, it’s time. You can’t keep doing this shit,” Alix started.
“I know! I know. I already talked with Plagg and I see I need to do something to deal with all this frustration. I can’t… I can’t keep trying to distract myself. I just… I don’t know how to handle all this frustration. It all just feels out of my control still.”
“Well, Kagami spoke with Felix, so hopefully that piece is done. I can’t really help you with your sexual frustrations, but for Gabriel, you need to put in more of an effort. I know it’s weird, but you wanted this. You can’t just let him go free, tell him you want to be a family again, and then just avoid him. As for the kwamis, well, just give them a break and work on yourself first,” Alix suggested.
“Well, for the kwamis, I was thinking of having Kagami reset them. She reset Daizzi today on the first try and completely. Unlike Mayura where the kwamis still needed time to get back to full power,” Adrien remarked.
“That works too. That would just leave Gabriel for the time. Just… make more of an effort.”
            “I will. I promise.”
“Now why couldn’t you be that way with Luka?” Rose remarked.
Alix flinched as she looked back at Rose behind her. “We need to get you a bell.”
“Oh, I have plenty, but that’s besides the point. If you can be that gentle with Adrien, why not Luka?”
            “Because Luka is a bitch.”
“Agreed. I have not interacted with him much, but he reeks of self-loathing and exudes hatred,” Kagami added.
Everyone turned to see Kagami standing in the entrance.
            “Kagami, I… I’m s-,” Adrien started.
Kagami raised a hand that silenced Adrien. “Save your apologies. Words are cheap. I want to see you make up for all grievances between us with action. Only then can we begin being these friends we are already supposed to be. And I will be sure to do the same.”
            “R-right,” Adrien whispered.
“Alix, good luck with Felix,” Kagami said.
“Not my problem, until it is,” Alix remarked.
Kagami nodded. She waved and left them.
            “So, what now?” Alix asked.
“I… I think I’ll go back home. Make an effort to do better. See you there soon?” Adrien asked.
“Yeah. I’ll home in time for dinner. And, Adrien?”
            “Yeah?”
“Make sure to take it easy and speak your piece. Let the others know too.”
Adrien nodded. He touched the gem and was transported back to the Kubdel home in Alix’s room. He heard sad American country music playing. He looked over at Alix’s bed and saw Felix curled up in a ball, crying into a pillow. He grimaced as he slipped out of the room and headed downstairs. He paused along the dim stairs as he listened to Alim and Amelie chatting in the kitchen. He crept down and peered over to see the couple preparing dinner while Gabriel watched the news on mute in the sitting room.
Adrien hesitated going down until he felt something brush against his leg. He looked down and saw Plagg in cat form. He leaned down and scooped up Plagg. He took a deep breath and approached Gabriel.
“H-hey, would you mind if I sat with you?” Adrien asked.
Gabriel nodded and scooted over. Adrien pursed his lips as he sat on the couch with Gabriel.
“What brought about this change of heart, Adrien? You’ve been avoiding me since I got here,” Gabriel pointed out.
“I… I had a talk with someone. Er, two someones. Well, more like three. A-anyway, that’s not the point. I… I realized I wasn’t being fair to you… or myself. Mostly myself, but you were part of the problems I was running away from. And I’m sorry.”
            “Adrien, what’s going on?”
            Adrien sucked in a deep breath. “I’ve… I… I need to tell you something! It’s… I just… I-!”
Plagg meowed and caught Adrien midsentence. Adrien looked down at Plagg’s curious eyes.
“I have to. I… I need to trust him. I need to see. And… and it’ll be the only way I can explain all of this to him. In a way he can understand. Please.”
Plagg nodded. He slipped out of Adrien’s arms and jumped onto the coffee table. Gabriel opened his mouth as Plagg transformed into his human form and stared at Gabriel.
            “What the-!” Gabriel yelled.
“Hello, Gabriel. I am Plagg, kwami of destruction.”
“Kwami? That means… Adrien, you’re… you’re Chat Noir?” Gabriel roared.
Adrien shrank back and shrugged with a nervous smile.
“Yes, he is. And allow me to make one thing clear. We know you sought my and Sugarcube’s miraculous. And, during a certain time, we would have feared you taking us away. However, these are not those times. You dare touch my ring, Adrien or no, I will destroy you. Do you understand?” Plagg warned.
“I… well, yes, but Adrien, why? Just… why?” Gabriel demanded.
Adrien hesitated before he took a deep breath. “Freedom, Gabriel. Freedom. I was sick of being trapped in that mansion. I told you, but you never listened. So, when I was given the black cat, how could I not take the chance to take my life into my own hands? How could I not take control over something you ripped away from me?”
            “I… I don’t know what to say.”
            “Then, please, just listen. Please.”
Gabriel sighed and nodded. Adrien explained everything that had happened to him from the moment he became Chat Noir, to Mayura, and up until now. He shared all his frustrations that had plagued him over the past few months before he broke down in tears.
“And I just don’t know what to do anymore. Some things had gotten easier, but others are just as difficult. I have solutions to the big ones, but the others don’t have clear answers, and I just don’t know what to do about them. I… I need help,” Adrien admitted.
Gabriel hesitated for a moment before he gently patted Adrien’s back. “I… I admit I’m not sure how to help you, Adrien. But I’ll do my best to be there in what ways I can.”
“That’s all I could ask. And… thank you… for listening.”
“Boys! It’s almost dinnertime! Oh, Adrien, where is Alix?” Amelie asked.
“Uh, she’s not here,” Adrien answered.
“She’s with Rose. I imagine they’re, how did Sugarcube put it again? Ah, yes. The beast is ravaging the beauty,” Plagg remarked with a chuckle.
Alim and Gabriel pursed their lips and furrowed their brows while Amelie and Adrien were confused.
“What does that mean?” Adrien asked.
“Yeah, what does that mean?” Amelie asked.
Alim glanced at Amelie, then at Gabriel. “Putting a pin in that. Gabriel, have you not had that talk with Adrien?”
Gabriel looked away and covered his mouth. “I… admit I expected Emilie to take care of that.”
“Right. Amelie, have you had that talk with Felix?”
“The what? Oh. Oh! I, uh, expected Colt to have done that,” Ameli admitted.
Alim deadpanned. He groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose.
Plagg chuckled and approached Alim. “Looks like you’ll have an interesting weekend, old man.”
“Yes, yes. Get your cheese and go do whatever it is you do.”
“I planned on it. I need something to take the edge off after dealing with all this chaos.”
Alim stepped out of Plagg’s way and looked between Amelie and Gabriel. “I’ll be speaking with both of you later. For now, Adrien, can you get Felix?”
            “What about Alix?” Amelie asked.
“I’ll put a plate aside for her.”
“But what is she doing that she’d miss dinner?”
Alim sighed and leaned in close. He whispered in Amelie’s ear as her face flushed red.
“That’s what she’s doing? But she’s too young for that!” Amelie screeched.
“Amelie, she’s fifteen, about to be sixteen in a couple months. It’s natural for teens to explore these aspects of themselves. I’m not going to shame Alix for what comes naturally to us as humans. Josi had that done to her and she… she didn’t make the best decisions in life because of it. I promised Josi that I wouldn’t put Alix through that.”
            “But-!”
“No more, Amelie. I’ve said my piece. Now, Adrien, go get Felix. It’s dinnertime.”

Last Shot for Revenge
Tumblr media
Chloe: I have 2 things to tell you before I leave this ridiculous city behind. 1. Don’t think you’re safe for one moment, Dupain-Cheng. I may not be around anymore but Lila still is.
Marinette: What? Lila?
Chloe: Did you honestly think she would be gone for good? We both know how much she loves holding a grudge. And please, that whole fake slap act, not really my style, and we both know it.
Marinette was stunned. Her broken heart temporarily forgotten as the threat of Lila made itself known. “Why are you telling me this?”
Chloe: Because the traitor left me to the mob. I haven’t heard a word from her since. With that lying tongue of hers, she could have fed me lines to mother so daddy wouldn’t get his way. I don’t like you, Dupain-Cheng. But you’re the only I know of who has put Lila in her place.
Marinette: Lila was with you during your election as mayor?
Chloe: with me? She was the one with this whole stupid idea in the first place. I knew accepting an akuma was a bad idea but she insisted I do it.
Marinette gasped. Lila always played a bigger game. Why would she want Chloe akumatized? Why would she abandon Chloe? The answer was obvious. She got what she wanted and no longer needed Chloe.
(Or Lila abandoned Chloe once she lost all power).
Marinette: What’s the second thing then?
Chloe: Oh, Adri-traitor is moving to London. How funny that it’ll just be like the old times. The two of us alone, and you not part of our social circle. Isn’t that sad?
She gave a cruel laugh.
Marinette said coldly, “Quiet, Chloe. I already know about Adrien because he told me. I also know that he loves me, and he is through with you and your ridiculous ways. Unless you have anything more to add about Lila, I’m hanging up.”
Chloe paused. She exhaled. “Fine. Lila told me that the war has only just started. And it won’t just be you she’s after. I’m not sure about the rest of the losers in our class, but other than you, she definitely dislikes Ms Bustier.“
Marinette: Ms Bustier didn’t even do anything to her.
Chloe: I know. But it was her idea to get Caline fired. One more thing. She was insistent I work with Gabriel and the blind woman, wanting me to have a live camera on at all times so she could see them.
Marinette: She must still hold a grudge against Gabriel for firing her.
Chloe: obviously. When we got Sabrina to fake the forms, Lila was all for making Adrien’s fake answer as worse as possible. So much for having a crush on the traitor. That’s all. Have fun at the dance, racoon eyes.
Then she hung up, unwilling to let Dupain-Cheng have the last word.
Marinette stood alone. Tikki came out. “So Lila is still here. And I have no idea what she’s planning.”
This was supposed to have been the perfect night. Chloe gone. A romantic dance. Instead, Lila was still around, and Marinette had no way of keeping tabs on her. Worst of all, Adrien was moving to London.

Blurb #22
I'm going to try to share 70 blurbs from my WIPs and unfinished fics to celebrate reaching 70 posted fics! To help with this endeavor, please feel free to send me a word or a fandom you know I write for, and I'll share the blurb. IDK if I'll get 70 prompts, but let's try it! Send as many as you want!
“Heads up!”
Adrien stopped the cannon ball as it rolled to him.
“Sorry about that! Slippery little buggers!”
“Oh, it’s no problem.” Then he went to lift it, only not able to even lift it off the floor.
“My, you’re a feeble one, aren’t you?”
“Um, excuse me?” Chloe interjected. “Who do you think you’re talking to? This is Prince Adrien!”
The assembled crew giggled, trying to pretend they hadn’t been watching.
Marinette blinked, then easily picked the cannon ball up. “Forgive me. You’re a feeble Prince, aren’t you, Your Highness?”
Adrien blushed wildly, not used to being talked to this way.
“Caline!” A shrill voice called over to the Third Mate. The voice belonged to the quartermaster, a girl with brunette hair in two low ponytails hanging down by her face. “The Powder Monkey dropped a cannon ball and it almost hit the Prince!”
“What!?”
“She has a name, you know!” Called another woman with auburn hair by the helm.
“Yes,” the quartermaster drawled. “I know. But that’s Captain’s orders, Alya, use someone’s rank when they’ve done something wrong. And since everything Powder Monkey does is a mistake, I have forgotten her name.”
The Powder Monkey blushed hotly, partly in embarrassment, and partly in rage.
“So what do you say, Caline? What’s the punishment for nearly taking off someone’s foot?”
“I say she is removed from the ship.” Spoke the cold voice of the duke. “I will not tolerate someone speaking to the Prince so casually, especially not some ship rat.”
“Father,” the Prince warned. “She was just teasing me. I wasn’t offended. Can we not throw someone out for minor offenses?”
“I’d rather get rid of the riff-raff before we set sail, so no provisions are wasted on her.”
“Yes!” Chloe agreed. “It’s high time we rid ourselves of the useless Powder Monkey!”
“Enough!” The voice of Captain Bourgeois silenced the argument. “We haven’t even left harbor and you girls are already squabbling!”
Chloe and the quartermaster bowed their heads.
“Despite the slip ups, our Powder Monkey knows the inside and outside of this ship better than I do. She was born and raised on it, and no one can replace her. Her job is the most dangerous, and most vital.”
The girl seemed to glow at the praise.
“That being said, Powder Monkey, be wise to keep your mouth shut and your eyes on your work. Any more problems, and this will be your last job. I don’t care who your family is. Understood?”
“Yes sir!”
“Good, get back to work…whatever your name is!”
The girl hurried off with the cannonball.
Adrien, born of noble birth and blood, had rarely spent time with the so called ‘riff-raff’. This girl had arrived like a breath of fresh air. She hadn’t fallen all over herself to impress him. In fact, she didn’t try to do anything. Just a little tease, a little jest. It was nice. She was nice.
He felt extremely sorry for her.
The most dangerous job on the ship? What on earth was she doing? And why voluntarily?
This was more thought then he should have paid to the girl. Certainly his interactions with her to come would be limited.
----
This fic is called 'Stardust' and I've talked about it a few times. It connects to Blurb #15. I like to day dream about it. I have some more blurbs I'll share later, along with concept art if anyone is interested.
Despite not really being in the ML fandom anymore, I like this AU enough, I might write it all someday...maybe...

Tales of Multibug & Vipercat:
Chloe’s Internship (But Really, Chloe’s Character Arc)
At first, she did not like it when Ladybug said she didn’t get the bee miraculous anymore.
Then, slowly, she began realizing why she didn’t get the miraculous anymore. She was no better than Lila, who she despised. Sure she never lied to make herself look better, but she lied to get what she wanted and to hurt others. It didn’t matter how good she was as Queen Bee (well, it mattered a little), if she wasn’t as good as Chloe how good was she?
So that’s when she found Marinette and apologized. Actually, she apologized to all of them. The ones who didn’t follow Lie-la anyways. She even tried apologizing to Sabrina, but Sabrina wouldn’t listen.
She was the one who came up with the idea for the Superhero PR department. It regulated anything public about the heroes, issued public statements from Multibug and Vipercat, and as the icing on the cake, could override any social media or blog posts (or even whole blogs) and erase them from the internet.
So yes, maybe she did enjoy getting to click the button to take down the LadyBlog.
But beyond that there was a whole world of legal things she was learning, and it was actually really interesting. She advocated for herself to get an internship, and even went through an interview process. (That was when Marinette realized she was serious about making a change.)
At first it was hard balancing that with school (who knew actually applying yourself meant working harder), but she got the hang of it. Surprisingly it was Alix who helped her the most. Because Chloe struggled the most in history (and Alix literally lived in a museum), Alix offered to be her tutor.
All it had taken was one gay joke from Kim for Chloe to realize that she didn’t like Alix like that. Actually, she didn’t like anyone like that. She liked the attention, but even with Adrien she never felt like that before.
Alix was the one who supported her through this discovery, and when she was ready Alix was the one who sat next to her when she told their friends. They were all gathered in Marinette’s room hanging out when she decided it was time.
She had to go to work soon, but she took a breath and spit it out.
Marinette was thrilled. She immediately tackled Chloe in a hug.
“Chill out Nette, it’s not that big.” She scoffed (but was secretly relieved). “Luka get your girlfriend.”
Once Marinette was settled again she smiled and exclaimed, “Chloe it is a big deal! You trust us enough to share with this with us!”
Rose was beaming. “Yeah Chlo! And of course we’re happy! You’re our friend and we love you!!!” Beside her bubbly girlfriend, Juleka nodded in agreement.
That was the first time Chloe felt unconditional love.
The second time was when Marinette invited her over one evening for “no reason.”
“I’m dyeing my hair.” She announced proudly when Chloe entered her room.
Beside her was Juleka, holding an armful of tools. Kagami was there too, and so was Marc and they were painting each others nails.
She raised an eyebrow. “Nette, I could’ve called a stylist.”
Marinette beamed. “Juleka needs practice, she’s trying to get her certificate, and I volunteered to be a practice model.”
“Same!” Marc added from off to the side.
“Don’t look at me I am leaving with my hair the same color as it was when I arrived. I don’t feel like getting on my mom’s nerves right now, I’m in a good mood.” Kagami blew on her wet nail polish.
“Well…Juleka if you need practice I want some blue in my hair. Or black. Or something.”
From behind her bangs Juleka was beaming.
So that they in between putting foils in each others hair that little group had a lot of fun. By the next morning Marinette was doting pink hair at her tips fading out of her already brilliant blue. Marc’s hair had a rainbow peekaboo (Juleka was very proud of her work). True to her word, Kagami’s hair was the same color, but her nails sported an assortment of glitters, chrome powder, and various reds. As for Chloe, her hair…well it was certainly different. Her natural blonde faded into blue, fading into black. She now sported bangs with some pretty well done added layers.
It was a bit of a surprise when she first woke up and hasn’t processed that she had gone through with it, but once she realized she had it was worth it. Juleka had really done a great job.
She got picked up by her driver, but as she headed to work she couldn’t help but smile to herself. Chloe knew she was a work in progress, but she knew she had found the right people to help her on the way.

Where We Find Ourselves Again
CHAPTER 2 PREVIEW:
Marinette had done her best to keep her composure in the apartment, but as soon as she walked out the door, onto the street, everything she’d been holding in flooded out. She clutched her chest, breath heaving in and out, one word repeating in her mind.
Adrien.
All she wanted was him. But he was the one person she couldn’t stand to be with, right now. She just couldn’t face him.
Head down, she hurried down the road until she reached an alleyway, then ducked down it, just like the good old days, taken back so many years in the space of two blocks. Hiding away in the shadows, she slumped against the wall in the dim light and took long, slow breaths, as the last hour replayed in her mind.
The way he’d looked at her…he knew she was hiding something. Something more than just a miracle box in the apartment. But he wasn’t pushing. He was leaving it to her to make the decision to tell him – to share the burden she’d been carrying since that year he’d gone travelling.
Her kwami flew out of her shoulder bag and hovered at her side. ‘This is a bittersweet reunion.
Marinette covered her face with her hands. ‘Oh, Tikki.’ The words came out as a squeak.
How many times had she pulled out those earrings, staring at her reflection in their mirrored surface, and been tempted to put them back on? To see her childhood companion once again? It had been so long that she’d almost convinced herself Tikki had been no more than an imaginary friend. But here she was, realer than anything else felt right now.
‘Adrien, he…Cat Noir….’
Tikki nodded. ‘It must be strange seeing him in that costume again, like no time has passed.’
‘No, it’s more than that, it’s…. We’ve had our share of arguments over the years but…I haven’t seen him that angry since….’ She swallowed, a vision of Cat Blanc returning to her along with her childhood.
Even after they’d defeated Monarch and sent Gabriel to another reality, she still sometimes searched Adrien’s face for traces, hints of Cat Blanc lurking beneath that beautiful surface.
‘That’s not going to happen,’ said Tikki.
‘How do you know? Do you remember what Adrien said, when we were teenagers? That Cat Blanc can never be defeated.’
‘Mm-hm. He’s a part of him that will always be in there and needs to be kept in balance. That’s why you supported him when he went off with Felix on that quest to find himself, isn’t it?’
‘Y-yes.’ With Felix. Guilt squeezed her heart. Accusing him hadn’t just been desperate – it had been cowardly. Of course he didn’t have any part in what was happening. Sure, he’d had a rough start as a kid, but he’d been kind to her over the years, and generous. He doted on the children like they were his own. He wouldn’t…wouldn’t betray them like…wouldn’t endanger them like….
Like I did.
‘Marinette, breathe.’
She was trying. ‘Tikki, what is wrong with me?’
‘What do you mean?’
‘I gave you up, Tikki.’
‘You had to –’
‘But I never gave up all the old…feelings. It’s like everyone else moved on and I didn’t. One sight of Chloe Bourgeois and I’m fourteen again, full of the same mistrust and doubts, keeping secrets….’ She ached to have Adrien’s arms around her, supporting her. But in that shadowy alleyway, she had to settle for holding herself.
‘Oh, Marinette…you’re thinking about what happened when Adrien was away, aren’t you.’
She pressed her eyes shut, letting hot tears spill out.
‘But that was so long ago! Don’t tell me you’ve let that hang over your head all this time.’
The tears fell harder.
‘Marinette….’ Tikki’s eyes were large with sympathy. ‘You can’t let one vision of the future keep you from living your life in the present.’

Bygones: A Stammering Adrien AU Moment
Based on This AU
Marinette and Alya head to the fabric store. Little do they know they’re about to run into an old friend.
Alya: I can't believe you ran out of fabric. You NEVER run out of fabric.
Marinette: I know, and I'm kicking myself for it, believe me. Anyway, this shouldn't take long. I just need to get some pink and white.
Alya: Of course.
Marinette: What's that supposed to mean?
Alya: Girl, if you could recolor the world, it would pink and white.
Marinette: *blushing* Not true. *bumps into someone*
Socqueline: Oops. Sorry about that, I was... Marinette? Alya?
Marinette and Alya: Socqueline?
*silence*
All three girls: SQUEEE!
*all of them hug*
Socqueline: It's been FOREVER!
Alya: Girl, where have you BEEN?!
Marinette: We missed you SO MUCH!
Socqueline: I missed you too! I'm so sorry. I lost touch after I switched schools!
Alya: Don't worry about it. Just give us your new digits.
Marinette: It'll be great to catch up. I can't wait for you to meet all of our new friends.
Socqueline: That sounds... Uh oh. Heads up, girls. She-beast at 12:00
*the girls turn to see Chloé and Zoe*
Socqueline: Wait here, girls. I think it’s time I gave that brat a piece of my mind. *goes towards Chloé*
Alya: Wait! Socqueline, don’t!
Marinette: Not good. Definitely not good.
Chloé: *to Zoe* So does the fabric have to be a certain type of green to work?
Zoe: As far as I can tell, no. The software should be able to do its job.
Socqueline: Hey! Bourgeois!
Chloé: Huh? Me?
Socqueline: Yeah, you. *shoves Chloe*
Chloé: Hey! What gives?! What’s your... Socqueline Wang?
Socqueline: That’s right. And I have a bone to pick with you.
Zoe: Hey, hold on a second. That’s my sister, and you... *sees Socqueline up close and blushes*   You...
Socqueline: Stay out of this! *back at Chloé* Chloé Bourgeois, you are the absolute worst person. Ever. You've bullied, harassed, tortured and tormented me and my friends for years. I don’t know what it is that makes you think you can just treat other people like rubbish, but if you haven’t changed by now...
Marinette: Socqueline, stop!
Alya: Chloé has changed!
Socqueline: *looks at them* What?! No, th-that can’t be right! *looks back at Chloé* Can it?
Chloé and Zoe: *nod*
Socqueline: *gulp* Uh, about what I was saying earlier...
Chloé: *puts up her hand* Don’t apologize. Honestly, I had it coming. *sigh* I’m really sorry, Socqueline. I never should have done all those terrible things. To you, Marinette, Alya, or anyone else. I have no excuse. Can you ever forgive me?
Socqueline: *sigh* It’s... It’s not gonna be easy. You did a lot of awful things. *looks at her friends* But if they can forgive you, I guess I can too.
Chloé: *relieved sigh* Thank you. And you have my word. I will never bully anyone ever again.
Zoe: So, um, is that it? Because we still need to buy fabric
Marinette: Oh yeah, us too.
Socqueline: I was on my way there. Follow me.
Later
Zoe: *carrying a bag of green fabric* Who was that?
Marinette: *carrying a bag of pink and white fabric* Socqueline Wang.
Alya: Old friend of ours. The three of us were inseparable back in the day.
Chloé: I’m glad we met her today. It felt good to apologize.
Alya: You’re doing great, honey. Really.
Marinette: I’m glad we’ve reconnected. It’ll be great to hang out with her again.
Zoe: Um, Marinette? About that. Could I get a small favor?
Marinette: What is it, Zoe?
Zoe: *blushing* Could you, maybe, put in a good word with her, you know, about me?
*everyone looks at her*
Chloé: *smirks and elbows Zoe* Oh La La. Does my big sister have a crush?
Zoe: *blushes deeper and shoves Chloe* Chloe! Shut up!
Alya: Aw, Zoe, don’t be embarrassed.
Marinette: Yeah. I’m sure Socqueline would be flattered.
Zoe: *covering her face* STOOOOOOP!

Lil’ Heroes - First Day
As expected, there was a commotion as the new students at Francois Daycare toddled into the room. There were children of all kinds. The Fairy Squad were whizzing around, Sabrinnochio was allowing Miremba to use her as a scratching post. Sleeping Nath and MarcElsa were finger painting and scribbling together. Snow Mylene had noticed QuasiIvan and Julebeast chatting, and deciding to become friends with them. Ivan was surprised that a pretty girl like her wanted to be with him, but he liked it. Maxiro was showing off his modified toy robot to Kimules, who immediately decided he loved hanging out with the other kid. Reshmabela had created a rose for Roselle. Marilan and Meridagami had decided to be “rivals”, which they thought meant, “friends but we play toy swords a lot”. AdriPunzel was using his hair as a skipping rope for Demolition Denise. CinderZoe was talking to TiAlya about how she loved to clean her room, and Alya mentioned how she loved making snacks for her family. Due to the curse on their family, Julebeast and Maestro Luka had turned into their beast and toy piano forms. Thankfully, no one seemed that bothered by it, with a lot of the kids finding Julebeast to be adorable (she kinda wished she was a lil scary). Juleka then started playing on Luka. Alix had nabbed some candy and toys from previous students in the confiscated, and was tossing them out for others to play with. Reshma had used her magic to create flowers for the teachers and other kids. AriOndine was having a blast, giggling with delight as she toddled around on her new legs, happy to have friends on land. Her favorite new friend, Kim, had given her a ride on his horsie, Xuppu. Jeanzco and Robette were putting on a show for all of their new friends to enjoy. Sure it was chaotic, but the fairy teachers, Miss Bustier and Miss Mendeliev, were just happy to see everyone getting along.
That is... until Chloestazia showed up. She was Zoe’s half-sister and was bratty to both her and the rest of her classmates. Most of the nicer students just ignored her, deciding that maybe she’d be nicer after a while. Some of the more feisty students messed with her, before being told to stop by Zoe and the more worried kids. Overall, Chloe tried to get everyone to do what she wanted, but would realize soon enough that it didn’t work like that. After snack time, Miss Bustier decided that everyone should have a full introduction to the rest of the class, with questions saved for after everyone was done.
Miss Bustier: Ok, everyone. It’s sharing time! We’re gonna go around the room and share what makes us special!
Kids: Yaayy!
Miss Mendeliev: And no interrupting ok? We don’t wanna have any timeouts on the first day. If you have a comment, raise your hand.
Aladdix: *Whispering to IsmaGenie* I no scared a timeouts.
IsmaGenie: *Whispering back* I wike yoo.

Now that everyone knew each other, it'd start a wonderful friendship that would last for generations. After story time, everyone's parents or caretakers came to pick them up. They couldn't wait to come back tomorrow.
That was the first day! Thank you so much to @msweebyness for helping out with the concept. As always, make sure to reblog, reply, post and ask to share your thoughts. @artzychic27 @msweebyness

Lila the vampire part 4
Lila: “I need a new look. If I’m going to fit into the modern world.”
Lila shapeshifts. She now has fair skin, hazel-brown eyes, and her hair is purplish-brown and styled in a short and messy pixie cut.
Lila: “What to wear?”
Lila snaps her fingers, and clothes materialize onto her body. She’s wearing a black belly top, black fingerless gloves that are elbow length, a gray belted-skirt, black buckled-belt, black skinny pants, and gray boots.
Lila snaps her fingers again, and a big black puffy hooded jacket materializes over her clothes.
Lila(evil smile): “I’ll just tell the teachers that I have a medical condition and I’m allergic to sunlight.”
Lila pulls the hood of the jacket up over her head.
Lila: “Time for my first day of school.”
Classroom
All of Marinette’s classmates are hanging around her desk asking her questions about the castle that she spent the night at.
Marinette(nervous laugh): “It really wasn’t all that bad. I mean we all know that there’s no such things as vampires.”
Chloe walks up to Marinette.
Chloe: “You won the bet baker girl! Here’s your diary back.”
Miss Bustier walks into the classroom.
Miss Bustier: “Now class we have a new student. Please give a warm welcome to your new classmate Cerise Rossi.”
Hearing the new students last name causes Marinette’s eyes to get wide, and she lets out a gasp.
Marinette(thinking): ‘It can’t be. Vampires can’t go out in the daylight.’
The new student walks into the classroom. All of the students notice that she’s wearing a big puffy black hooded coat that looks way too big for her. The hood covers most of her face. Only her eyes, nose, and mouth are visible.Under the coat they notice that the new student is wearing black pants, and gray boots.
Miss Bustier: “Now class, Cerise has a medical condition that causes her to be seriously allergic to the sun so I want you all to be extra nice to her, and help her.”
Miss Bustier turns to look at Marinette.
Miss Buster: “Marinette since you’re the class rep I want you to help Cerise get settled in.”
Marinette(stutters): “Su… Su… Sure Miss Buster!”
Cerise turns, and looks at Marinette.
Cerise(evil smile): “I really hope that we can become good friends.”
Cerise winks at Marinette.
She then walks to the back of the class(away from the windows)where there’s an empty seat available.
Miss Bustier: “Marinette you should sit next to her.”
Marinette: “Why do I have to move to the back?”
Miss Bustier: “Remember Marinette she has a sun allergy. She has to sit in the back away from the windows. And as class rep you have a responsibility to help her.”
Marinette(sighs): “Yes Miss Bustier.”
Marinette walks to the back, and sits next to Cerise.
Cerise(sad look): “I’m sooo very sorry for any inconveniences that my disabilty is causing you.”
Marinette(annoyed): “I’m sure you are.”
Chloe: “I bet she’s faking!”
Cerise starts “crying”.
Miss Bustier: “Chloe go to the principal's office!”
Chloe: “Fine! Whatever!”
Cerise(thinking with evil smile on her face): ‘This will be fun.’

A Study In Friendship Chapter 1
Miraculous Ladybug | 2019 | 1,712 | Ao3 | Masterlist | Next
After standing up to Chloe for the first time, Sabrina latches onto Marinette as a best friend. After all, when you have to pick only one person to be friends with, the one who values you is actually a really good choice. But maybe it's possible to have more than one? Marinette sure doesn't seem to mind sharing.
At The Harbor
Sabrina shifted her weight nervously as she waited for the crossing light to turn green. Marinette still hadn’t answered her!
Then again, Chloe only answered her if she was being helpful, so maybe she wasn’t being helpful enough? But what else could she do to be helpful for Marinette? She had done an extra set of geometry homework for Chloe, but if she wasn’t letting Chloe make her do stuff for her, then maybe she could give the homework to Marinette?
Yeah! Marinette would appreciate that! She was always so stressed about getting everything done, and a set of geometry homework pre-done would help her feel less stressed.
Yes, that would work. Of course it would. It worked with Chloe, and they were best friends. And she and Marinette were becoming best friends. But Marinette would be an even better best friend, because she was kinder.
The light turned green and Sabrina hurried over. If she could catch Marinette and give her the homework, then maybe they could hang out! Using the time that would be saved because of the finished homework, of course. She couldn't intrude upon Marinette's personal time! And then they could study together, which got more schoolwork done, leaving them both free for whatever Marinette wanted to do next. Maybe they could go paint nails, or style hair, or take selfies!
And then-
The door opened, and she came face to face with a very startled Marinette. “Oh! Sabrina. What are you doing here?”
Oh no. Was she not welcome? Oh she’d overstepped her bounds hadn’t she? Marinette was going to hate her. “Sorry,” she paused. She needed to come up with a reason, and one Marinette wouldn’t be mad about. “I was just waiting for you. Did you get my messages?”
Marinette looked uncomfortable, but nodded “Yes! Yes, of course, I was just going to call you back.”
Sabrina’s heart jumped. “Really? I knew you would! Eventually,” she reached into her bag and pulled out the homework folder. “And so,” Deep breath, Marinette would like it. “I did your Geography homework for you!”
Marinette stepped back. “Whoa! You didn’t have to do that.”
“Well since you’re my new best friend, it’s the least I can do,” Sabrina assured her, ignoring the snake that was whispering in her head. Marinette would like it. They were friends. Of course she would.
“Thanks, but I just can’t.”
“Really?” Sabrina’s heart sunk. Doing each others work was what friends did! If she couldn’t do Marinette’s work, and help her, then- were they really friends? Could they stay friends?
“Really. Sabrina, I’m thankful for the offer, but I can’t let you do my work for me. Friends help each other when it’s needed, they don’t give all the work to one person. Thank you, but I can’t accept this. You did the work, you should get the credit.”
“Oh.” Sabrina took a deep breath. Marinette wanted to be friends. Friends don’t do what Sabrina just did. Oh, Sabrina was a bad friend, wasn’t she? Well, she just had to be better then, didn’t she? “Okay. Do you want to work on the physics project tonight?”
Marinette bit her lip. “Uhh, I’m really sorry Sabrina, but I’ve got something really important I have to do and it has to be done tonight.”
“Oh.” Was Sabrina that bad of a friend? Marinette was treating her just like- Chloe did. Was Marinette just using her too? She felt that snake rise up in her throat. Sabrina had already stood up to Chloe today, and her fighting streak wasn’t over yet. She would not take this lying down! “Something really important? Really? Do you know who else uses that excuse all the time, don’t you?”
Marinette shook her head. “No.”
“Chloe!” Sabrina snapped, ignoring any pain that came from getting upset at her no-longer-new-friend. “I’m beginning to see just how similar you two are! I bet you’re just waiting so you can make me do all the work on the project too, aren’t you?”
“No!” Marinette snapped back. Sabrina flinched. But she wouldn’t let Marinette walk all over her too.
“I can’t believe I thought you actually wanted to help me!”
“I do!” Marinette shot back, her composure slipping. “I’m not trying to ditch you, I promise! But something came up that I can’t get out of!”
Sabrina felt the fight leave her. Of course, what was she thinking? Marinette wasn’t like that. Sabrina had spied on her enough she should know that.
“I’ll be free tomorrow, if you want to get together to work then.”
“Hello there!” Both girls jumped as a figure landed beside them. “Oh, I hope I didn’t interrupt something important?”
“Oh, there you are,” Marinette smiled at the newcomer. “I’ll be right with you, after Sabrina and I figure this out, okay?”
Sabrina’s eyes flicked between Marinette and the newcomer, trying to not choke on her disbelief.  Marinette...... had just addressed Chat Noir! Like they were friends! And she brushed him off for her! Did that mean Marinette liked her? Wait, if she liked her more than a superhero…. Sabrina gasped. Marinette liked her more than a superhero!
Chloe had never done that. She always valued spending time with Ladybug, who she claimed was her 1st BFF, with Sabrina as her second. But Marinette was prioritizing her over Chat Noir!
“Why is Chat Noir here?” Sabrina asked, doing her best to keep her cool.
Chat Noir grinned at her, “Your friend here is helping me defeat the akuma from earlier.”
“Akuma?” Sabrina gasped. From earlier..? Oh! The one at the Library! “Is that the same one who crashed our study party?”
“That would be the one, turns out he’s crushing on this princess here. Good thing I’m here to protect her.” Chat turned slightly and flexed.
Sabrina turned to Marinette, worried and awed. Awed, because Chat Noir was here personally to have Marinette’s help. Worried because Sabrina hated it when Chloe was targeted by an Akuma, and now Marinette would be too, and she hated that thought even more.
Marinette was so sweet, and if she got hurt- It would be worse than when Chloe got hurt.
Sabrina felt guilt settle in her stomach at the thought. Chloe had always been her best friend, and now she was wishing that this Akuma was attacking Chloe instead! Some best friend she was. Ex-best friend.
“That’s not safe!”
“I’ll be okay Sabrina. I already got him to swear off violence as long as I show up tonight, so we should be fine,” Marinette assured her.
Sabrina wasn't convinced. “Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
“Even if that guy decided to still attack you-”
“It’s Nathanael, Chat, and he’s calling himself Evillistrator currently,” Marinette cut in, rolling her eyes. How was Marinette so casual with a superhero?!
Chat continued as if she hadn’t, “-I’ll be with you to protect you.”
“I know you will. Although we still need to have a plan for when I meet up with him,” Marinette reminded, before turning back to Sabrina. “I’m sorry for the interruption. I think we were trying to pick a time to study together tomorrow?”
Sabrina nodded, barely staying out of a stupor. “Um, yes! What times are you free? I’m free all day, if you want to just call me whenever!”
Marinette pursed her lips. “I don’t know. If you decide to do something fun tomorrow, I don’t want to yank you away in the middle.”
“It’d be no problem, really!” Sabrina assured her eagerly, watching Chat out of the corner of her eye. He looked somewhere between proud and put-out.
“It is a problem though Sabrina! You deserve to enjoy yourself too, and I can’t just make your schedule bend around mine. That would be really unfair to you. I’m sure we can find a time that you like, and not just because I said so.”
Sabrina thought for a moment. Well, she had been wanting to spend the morning before school with her dad since he had the day off, but in the afternoon she had been planning a spa day with Chloe, which was obviously cancelled, so. “Could we meet up in the library around three? Or we could do over lunch if you’d like that, I don’t have anywhere to be during lunch since I’m not helping Chloe anymore.”
“Do you want to join Alya, the boys and I for lunch? Then we can either hang out or work on the project, and if we just play around then we can work more in the afternoon?” Marinette suggested.
“Oh could I?” Sabrina asked hopefully. “Will the others be okay with it?”
Marinette shrugged. “We’re not really territorial with lunch groups, but I can ask them if you’re worried.”
“Oh thank you!” Sabrina hugged Marinette. She was so Lucky to have her as a friend. Much better than Chloe. She had asked Sabrina about her own schedule! Chloe had only done that once a quarter, at most.
“Of course,” Marinette said, hugging her back. Sabrina wanted to squeal. The amazing Marinette was hugging her! Because they were friends! “And I’ll either text you tonight or talk to you tomorrow, okay?”
Best Day Ever!
“Okay! Thank you so much Marinette!” Sabrina let go of Marinette and made sure her papers were in order. “I’m so glad we figured that out. See you tomorrow, Bestie!” Sabrina started to leave.
“See you!” Marinette said happily, waving.
“Oh, and Chat Noir?” Sabrina paused, turning just enough to fix the superhero with a stare. “Please keep her safe.”
“Of course. I’m the best of best. No harm will come to your friend.”
Sabrina smiled at him, and started back to the crosswalk. The light was red now, so she turned back again. Marinette and Chat were talking now, Chat’s back to Sabrina while Marinette mimed something like she so often did. Sabrina waved, not sure Marinette would see it but wanting to say goodbye again.
Marinette caught her eye and waved back with a smile, before rejoining her conversation with Chat Noir.
The light turned green, and Sabrina crossed, leaving Marinette behind for the afternoon. Her friend Marinette. Who she would get to hang out with tomorrow. And who wanted her to hang out and make more friends.

I’ve Had Enough
Because some things are just unforgivable, and Ondine finds that she’s finally had enough of her boyfriend’s lack of maturity and obsession with Chloe Bourgeois.
(Obviously not gonna line up completely with Derision, but y’know what? I don’t care. I just want to salt.)
“He... he what?” Ondine questioned, staring at the trembling girl across from her with shaking hands and a trembling voice.
“I... I know he probably didn’t really even mean it, y’know,” Marinette fumbled, running her hands through the ends of her pigtails before tugging. Her eyes refused to meet the swimmer’s, body hunched and foot tapping incessantly on the floor of her bedroom. “I’ve always figured Chloe put him up to it... but... I mean, it still really hurt.”
“I-- I’m so sorry, Marinette,” the redhead breathed, leaning forward and pulling her into a tight hug.
“Hey, it’s not like it’s your fault I’m afraid of pools.” Weakly chuckling, she patted Ondine on the back before heaving a sigh. “Anyway, if the class wants a pool party I’d be happy to plan it out - just, uh, heh... not planning on swimming.”
“No.” The firm note in her voice made the younger girl take pause. “No, it’s not okay. What they did to you isn’t okay, and I don’t feel comfortable just knowing about this and not doing anything.”
“Really, Ondine, I’m fine now--”
“If you were actually fine, you wouldn’t have a fear of pools,” the swimmer flatly retorted, lips pressed into a line.
Marinette shrank back, gaze dropping to the floor in defeat.
“Kim hasn’t... done anything else to you, has he?”
“Well...” Marinette chewed on her bottom lip, brow knitted together in thought. “I mean... on his own accord, or because he wanted to impress Chloe?”
The redhead’s hands clenched into fists. She glared at the ground, her heart beating against her ribcage with enough force that her vision was blurring from anger.
“Has he been bullying you for a while?” Her voice came out deceptively calm, so calm it even surprised her.
“Ondine, I--”
“Has he been bullying you for a while, Marinette?” The older girl repeated slowly, turning a hard stare on her friend.
The class rep fumbled for a few moments, stumbling over her own words and gesturing lamely before the pressing silence forced her to hang her head and sigh. “Ever since his first year at our school, back in élémentaire.”
Ever since his first year.
“Putain,” she hissed in frustration, making her friend look over sharply in confusion.
Abruptly she stood. “Sorry, Mari, but I just remembered I need to get back to the pool. Got some swimming lessons to supervise.” Flashing her an apologetic smile - one that felt far too tight on her lips, one that nearly didn’t reach her eyes - she continued, “I’ll see you later, okay? We’ll have to discuss this again.”
“Oh, well, uh... okay,” with a puzzled frown, she nodded and got to her feet. “Thanks for stopping by, Ondine. I’ll hold a class meeting and get some more feedback on the idea.”
“You do that,” the older girl nodded in agreement, her face friendly though her eyes were cold as she made for Marinette’s bedroom door. “You do that.”
-
“Kim!” Ondine called as soon as she got to the poolside, scanning the waters for the athletic boy.
“Oh, you’re back!” Speak of the devil, here he came - with a bright, goofy smile that usually cast butterflies into her chest. Today, it only made her heart squeeze tight.
“Hey,” he greeted, hoisting himself out of the water and onto the side. “I thought you’d be hanging out with Mari a little longer.”
“Something came up,” the redhead explained, nails digging into her palm as she crossed her arms. “Kim, you like me, right?”
“Huh?” His smile faded slightly, and his brow furrowed in confusion. “Well, yeah, of course I do.”
“Really?” She pressed, face pinched in simmering anger. “Do you love me?”
“Dine, what’s this about?” Kim questioned, scrambling to his feet.
“While I was talking with Marinette earlier, an interesting little topic came up.” She practically spat the words out at her boyfriend. “For example, while we were discussing possibly giving your class a pool party for raising the most money in that fundraiser earlier this month, I found out something. Did you know Marinette is scared of public pools?”
Ah, there it was. what remained of his hopeful expression dropped, and the realization dawning on the boy’s face made her vision begin to blur with rage.
“Because I didn’t know that,” she continued, voice raising, “and y’know what’s even more interesting? She told me how she got it.”
“Ondine--”
“You traumatized your classmate - a girl who had a crush on you - because of Chloe-fucking-Bourgeois?!”
Her shout rang out, echoing in the open space. An instructor chatting with another in a poolside office paused in their conversation to glance through the window curiously for a moment.
Kim cringed back from the shout, raising his hands in defense. “H- hey, that--”
“Not only that,” she added, a thunderous expression on her face, “but even after I met you this year, you still continued to pine after her so much that you would ignore her mistreatment of your friends! Of me! You practically ignored me for the longest time because you just-” she took a step forward, and he took one back, “-couldn’t-” another step, “-let-” another step, “-go!”
“I’m sorry, okay?” He exclaimed, covering his head as she continued to advance, fists clenched tight at her sides. “I was young and stupid-- I wasn’t thinking straight!”
“You still aren’t thinking straight if you think this isn’t that big of a deal, Kim!” Ondine’s seafoam eyes flashed with barely-concealed rage.
“Well- I’m over her now, so it’s not a big deal.”
“Not a big deal?!” She roared, and he cringed back even more. “Marinette can’t even stick her feet in the pool without having a panic attack and you think what you did isn’t a big deal?!”
“Ondine,” a swim instructor called, causing the two to turn and look. The adult was standing half-out of the doorway in concern. “Is everything alright?”
“Yes, Mme,” she answered, trying to force herself to calm down. With a deep, steadying breath, her shoulders lost some of their tension. “Just having a chat with my boyfriend.”
“... alright,” she relented, and as soon as she was back in the office Ondine whirled back around, thrusting a pointer finger at Kim’s chest.
“If Chloe threw herself into your arms tomorrow, begging for you to date her, would you dump me? Be honest,” she ordered, eyes narrowing.
Kim swallowed, his hands shifting a little higher as his eyes darted up and down, taking in her face. After a moment’s hesitation, he answered, “Y- yeah, of course I would. You’re my girlfriend.”
“You hesitated.” She hissed, abruptly stepping back and raising her arms in surrender. “Y’know what, Kim? I’m done. We’re done.”
“Wha-- Ondine, what--”
“I refuse to keep dating a selfish coward who isn’t capable of manning up and making things right when he hurts others.” Angry tears blurred her vision as she began to storm away. “Come back when you’ve made things right with Marinette. Then we’ll talk.” Turning to glare at him over her shoulder, she added icily, “I’ll know if you do. Because unlike you, I actually care about my friends.”
Apparently in Derision Kim will still call Chloe the pretiest and funniest girl in the world ... in front of his f*cking girlfriend. And she won't break up with him even after this !
Ondine pls
