In one of your last answers, you said “series reboots are usually pretty gross and sad”, and I was wondering if you could expand on that? Assuming “reboot” covers any kind of continuation of a currently cancelled or finished show (and maybe that’s the wrong assumption!), from the outside looking in it feels like a pretty mixed bag. On one hand, if I love XYZ Show, it’s cool that I get more stories with these characters and another chance to support XYZ Show and its creators. On the other, it definitely feels like a lot of ideas can only get funding if they’re tied to something already, meaning creatives are having to now tie whatever cool idea they have to some reboot/relaunch/retread, which can feel pretty disheartening if you don’t want to do a reboot/relaunch/retread. Is that a similar feeling from your side of the industry?

Usually reboots and spin-offs are just cash grabs. It happens a lot in animation. In fact, I would argue that the entire industry is just one big cash grab now. In the 80s, everyone complained that cartoons were just half-hour commercials for toys. And they were right. And we're right back there, but now that you can't legally push toys all day, it's just general "IP". Mugs, posters, more spinoffs, whatever.

I was offered three show running gigs over the pandemic. All reboots that I would consider unwise to pursue because they were "of a different time" and didn't (in my opinion) have anything more to say. Two of them were properties created by notorious sex pests, so there's also that. The animation industry loves to prop up its sex pests.

I turned all of them down, partially because I didn't respect the original creators but also because none of them had anything going for them except just being "more of the same".

I don't think any of those projects survived the intervening years, so in retrospect I maybe should've taken the job. I'd probably feel a bit gross, but at least I'd have floors in my house.

The entertainment industry is in a bad spot. The whole thing. I've had I don't know how many pitch meetings in the last few years, and they all start the same way:

"Hey! Before we start, we just want to let you know that we're not actively producing anything right now. We think maybe soon, but we won't be picking anything up today..."

And then later:

"The little we are doing is IP, so if you have a new take on our IP or a new IP you're connected to that you can bring in, that'd be great."

I always wanted to make original stuff. There came a time when I'd had my fill of Billy & Mandy and wanted to do something else new and original. That never manifested, and I was constantly being offered IP to produce. I turned too many of those down, maybe, before deciding that it was probably better that I run the IPs that mean something to me rather than having some hack do it.

But now those jobs have all gone to celebrities and fallen live-action writers, who are also slowly being eaten by the system. WB was hot for Scooby stuff a few years back, so I pitched some ideas. A few of them were turned down for being "off-brand" in a variety of ways. WB has now made (I think) all of those off-brand shows (or something close) with celebrity show runners.

I was going through a whole Midlife Impostor Syndrome thing recently where I was wondering if maybe I don't just suck. Like, it's weird that for a couple of decades I'd have people calling me trying to get me to run shows, and now nobody will call me back about the possibility of a design job.

Talking to some friends and realizing that they were in a similar situation helped me feel like I wasn't alone. That was nice. Talking to some of the most talented colleagues in my industry made me made me realize that those people weren't getting jobs either. That was unnerving. Talking to complete strangers in other parts of the entertainment industry now has me thinking that the whole house of cards is coming down. That's real concerning, yo.

It's hard not to think it's purposeful, when deranged billionaires own the entirety of our media and want to shape a society where they can't be criticized. We're letting wealthy tech bros firebomb the very heart of our culture, and it's weird that no one is talking about it. Because (for now) we still have that capability.

In truth, her sibling ends up in an alienage orphanage and eventually sold into the Crows and is a de Riva fledgling.

Parents: were laborers in the leatherworking industry, die in an alienage fire a few years after Marisol is taken to the Circle.

Children: none biologically, but she is good with kids in general! She helps train the Cantori fledglings and is often emotionally motivated by things happening to children that are outside of their control

Pets: she gets a spirit dog in the Lighthouse! a spirit of [devotion or tenacity or loyalty] (vote now on your phones) that manifests as a dog, to be specific. At first, he only manifests in the Lighthouse or parts of the Crossroads, but eventually after some emotional suffering practice, she can call him to places outside the Fade as well.

💍 - Does your oc have any piercings? Do they want any (more) piercings?

Matt: He doesn't have any as of now, but he's also not sure if he wants to get any, either. He's entertained the idea here and there, but has no idea on what he'd want to have if he decided to dedicate himself to one..

Kaz: He doesn't have any piercings. He's a total weenie when it comes to pain.

Marcus: He has two rings and two studs in each of his ear lobes, and one cuff (non-pierced) on his left ear. Part of him wants to get a tongue piercing at some point, but he's also intimidated by the idea of it and hasn't done it yet.

Nyx: Used to have his ears pierced, but he kept losing the studs and took them out from frustration. The holes are now closed up, but he still wants to get them re-pierced again in the future, when he can actually take the time to properly care for them.

Stahli: He has one stud in each ear and an industrial bar in his left ear. He doesn't really have any plans for future piercings as of now, he's pretty happy where he's at.

Phobos: He has a tongue piercing and intimate piercings that came from the previous owner of his human form, but actually most of the piercings on his body actually came after he took Theodore's body for his own. All of his facial piercings including his snake bites, nose ring, and nose bridge bars he got done himself. He's considered getting more piercings in the future, maybe some for his ears (which he's been adverse to only cuz the idea of putting something jingly in his ears bothers him, since his hearing is so sensitive).

Vantablack: On their original body, they don't have any, but on their human form they have holes in their earlobes left behind where earrings used to be, and they have just one of their nipples pierced.

Basically none of the seven have tattoos except for Kazuo and Marcus, if you can call them tattoos.

Kaz has a massive back tattoo of three sets of black seraphim wings, three rings of light, and a baseball bat dripping with black sludge.

This "tattoo" was given to him from Mortifer, the Goddess of Death. He can use this tattoo to, at any point, summon forth an enchanted, pure white baseball bat that acts as his reaper's scythe, or he can summon three sets of wings to take flight or to teleport himself anywhere he can imagine in a flurry of black feathers. He can also use this tattoo to summon forth three glowing rings of light, entities called "fragment spirits" which will fight alongside him and obey his commands in battle. These entities are "fragments" of his own psyche and personality, and at times they will physically manifest themselves when he becomes emotionally compromised in specific, significant ways. He has no control over the spirits when they manifest themselves of their own free will, and they will remained summoned until they feel their role is fulfilled.

He doesn't have any real tattoos otherwise, and doesn't have any plans for getting any in the future.

Marcus doesn't have any tattoos as of now, but he has a dark "brand" in the center of his chest, called the Mark of Matthiaos.

This brand is a symbol of his pact with Matt. The tendrils stretching out from the sides of the brand expand outwards and increasingly darken parts of his body if he allows himself to accept more of Matt's power, or if he allows Matt to possess his body.

He does feel like he wants to get some proper tattoos at some point, but he doesn't have any ideas of what he wants yet.

Neither Nyx nor Stahli have any tattoos, but they're both open to possibilities in the future should they get any ideas for what they'd want for them.

None of the other seven have any tattoos nor have any plans for them in the future as of now.

🩹 - Does your oc have any physical and/or mental disabilities?

Matt: Autophobia. The fear of being alone. When Matt was born, he had a curse placed upon him that made it so that he could not be seen or heard by any human being other than the person he's actively possessing at any given time. This curse was lifted during his time with Marcus, but the isolation he experienced for the vast majority of his life has made him have some pretty significant co-dependency issues. He doesn't like being left on his own, he feels uncomfortable unless he knows someone is nearby, even if they're not paying attention to him. If someone (especially a group of people) completely outright ignore him, then he'll start to have severe pangs of panic, thinking that perhaps the curse has returned and he is unable to be seen or heard by anyone all over again.

Kaz: Dissociative Identity Disorder. A long-term former friendship with a toxic individual has completely left him mentally fractured. He's good at hiding these problems most days, repressing his anxieties, but it's evident in the existence of his fragment spirits that he's not always okay.

Marcus: Anxiety + Insomnia + A Fuckin' Host of Other Problems. Since he was young he was always a bit of a coward that was scared of his own shadow, and this fear only became stronger once he became a host for Matt. He's struggled for his entire adolescent life and much of his childhood against paranoia, anxiety, insomnia, and incredibly vivid and powerful auditory/visual hallucinations. He's gained more control over the hallucinations in his older years, after he's made his pact with Matt, but the fear continues to persist and deeply affect his ability to trust and build relationships with others outside of his immediate friend group.

Nyx: ADHD. Pretty simple as that. Nyx used to struggle academically due to simply not wanting to do his homework if it bored him significantly. He still struggles to get assignments done if they're in a subject he finds boring, but as of recent years he's been able to find some interest in his studies more than he used to. He still struggles with keeping focus during lectures and zoning off in the middle of them, and even keeping focus while working on personal projects unless he's actively hyperfocusing on what he's doing.

Stahli: Ego Death. Accidentally dying during the manifestation of his unique magic has permanently fractured his perspective of reality. Stahli understands that it's magic that allowed that to happen in the first place, and he understands the rules of magic as they exist in the world around him, but sometimes he can't help but feel less like a creature living in the world of magic and more like a spectator that's peering into the world. Sometimes he feels like a person reading a book, and when he closes his eyes he's shut that book momentarily and placed a bookmark on the page he left off. Sometimes when he closes his eyes he tries to search for "what's beyond the cover of the book" and gets frustrated that he cannot. He's almost wholly convinced that he's just reading a book of the world he's living within, and that only when it's finished will he finally be free to live his real life again, unaware that the only life he has is the one "in the book".

Stahli struggles with the concept of "fate vs free will" especially because of the book analogy. Most of the time he feels like whatever he's doing and experiencing has been pre-written into his story, and that he cannot deviate from whatever decision he's made, even though its his own free will that makes the decision he makes. Sometimes he wonders if perhaps instead he's writing the story rather than just reading it, but that just leads back to his frustration of not being able to see past "the cover of the book".

Phobos: Misanthropia. He's incredibly pessimistic by nature, and this coupled with frustration with his state of living has grown into an almost whole-hearted hatred for mankind. He's incredibly indifferent to the suffering of most humans around him, and feels perfectly fine to bring harm to others if it means he'll get something meaningful out of it.

Vantablack: God Complex. They wholeheartedly believe they are above every other living thing around them. In their case, they literally believe they are a god in the making, a creature that was born with no other purpose than to turn mankind into their personal power seedbed to ascend to a higher point of being.

🖤 - Has your oc killed or seriously wounded anyone before? Have they broken someone's heart and/or broken someone's trust?

Matt: He's not directly killed many people, but the way his power influences the mental states of others causes them to usually die or kill themselves while he is possessing them, much to his dismay.

Unfortunately, he's broken the hearts of a few, including Marcus early on into their relationship. Not intentionally though, again, just comes as a side effect of carrying too many secrets about who you are and having different needs from your human companions.

Kaz: He's never killed anyone, despite having the title of "Grim Reaper" under his belt. His job position forces him to sever a spirits connection to their corpse and send them down into the underworld more than actually killing them.

He's never broken someone's heart, per say, but if you asked him if he's broken someone's trust he'd have mixed feelings on how to answer, since he's been through some emotional turmoil in a past relationship gone sour.

Marcus: He's killed very few people, mostly against his will. He's amassed far higher body count numbers in dæmons, which he has far more pride in his body count for.

As far as broken someone's heart, he has struggled with a few relationships in the past. Getting thrown headfirst into the realm of the supernatural put a lot of strain on his relationships with those he cares about, including with Matt.

Nyx: He's never seriously hurt or killed another man, at least not in his point in his life. As far as heartbreak and trust are concerned, it was a massive struggle for him to work out the details of his relationship between both of the tweels and October. But, with lots of time and conversation, the four of them were able to find a way for them all to be happy.

Stahli: He's never seriously hurt or killed another man, but he's made an unintentional habit of being a bit of a heartbreaker. He's fun and flirtatious, and it's often that people will become attached to him when he'd never meant for them to. He feels bad to turn people down, but it's something he's had to do time and time again.

Phobos: He's killed at least one person - Theodore Banner, his previous caretaker. His unique magic is also based on hurting people indirectly through weaving magic into his words, so he's wounded many people with merciless intent. Despite this, at the present, he hasn't killed anyone else other than Theodore, but that's likely not going to be the case forever...

He doesn't think anyone really likes him, and he pushes people away to keep it that way. There is a part of him that craves the affection that comes with a relationship, but he would never admit that aloud, let alone to himself.

Vantablack: Do Not Trust Them. They've killed, mangled, left for dead, backstabbed, betrayed, broken hearts, and broken trust. They've done basically everything, all with a smile on their face too. They take pleasure in the misery and suffering of others, and have little care or regard for any other soul's feelings.

“You know, your makeup is quite decent today, (Y/N).”

Chris chirped one day when you were sitting with him in one of his yachts, surrounded by the glistening blue of the ocean and the whiteness of the sky.

“Decent today? What are you implying? That it’s bad every other day?” you chuckle.

“Maybe, maybe not.” Chris chuckles alongside you, taking a gulp of his black coffee,“Reminds me of when I did makeup back in the old days. I was always amazing, but now.” he smirks,“I’m wealthy enough to hire people to do it for me.”

“Uh huh.” you followed his smug face expression, stirring your own coffee with the teaspoon provided,“It’s just like you to be so pampered.”

“Yep, that’s me. Born to rule the entertainment industry with my Heaven sent looks and charisma! The whole world knows it! And yet,” Chris hangs his head as he goes on to say,“I’m not ready to tell it who I am.”

You cock your head,“Who you are? The world already knows that, McLean.”

However, he wasn’t sharing your sense of playfulness as he raised his head to cut you an unamused look,“Very funny. You know what I mean.” he looks to the side, his face softening,“I’m just so afraid. I don’t know what happened, but lately, I’ve been doubting myself. I don’t feel like the guy I was.”

That doesn’t sound good,“You wanna talk about it?”

“Sure.” he responds, taking a sip of his coffee. After, his gaze matches the angle of yours,“So uh, one day I kinda started feeling off; I wasn’t feeling my usual phenomenal irreplaceable self. Something was wrong, and looking in the mirror only made it worse. I know I’m a man. I know I am. But...” he taps the sides of his cup as though to maintain his grip on communicating,“It wasn’t me I saw, but that...thing. And now, she won’t leave. She’s there in all my reflections, copying all my moves, it’s so freaky. Sooo... I’m kinda in a um, position where I’m believing in signs. Signs like, what if that version I don’t wanna be is intimidating me just like how...I’m intimidating manhood? What if that man never existed, (Y/N)? Am I wasting my time?!”

You bring the edge of your coffee to your lips as you carefully considered your words,“Well obviously, this old you you’re seeing, is a manifestation of insecurities-”

Failing instantly,“Ugh, spare me the pretentious words! If I wanted to see a therapist to tell me all that, I would’ve done so years ago.”

You set your cup down,“I mean, there’s nothing wrong with seeking professional help.”

“Not when you’re a beacon of perfection like me! When therapists are done with me, they’ll be all over their secret accounts on social media, posting subtle stuff about it! Aw if he didn’t want me to out him, he should’ve paid me a little bit more!” his voice comedically changed to fit one jarring of a potential backstabbing therapist.

“I know some therapists make you sign a contract, but you could always create a contract of your own for them to sign if you feel that anxious.” you hummed, despite knowing that privacy would already be included in a contract designed by one.

“What do you mean, you know? You’ve been to a therapist before, (Y/N)?” Chris raised an eyebrow, leaning closer to your caught off guard face.

Again, there was nothing wrong with seeking professional help so you had no clue why Chris was scrutinising you like it was taboo,“...We’re getting off topic.”

“Damn it, you’re right!” Chris exclaimed in self-awareness as he took a loud, long sip of his steaming cup,“Ah... Anyway. I’m not joshing when I say I’m confused, (Y/N). Really, I am. At first I was content and relieved I got to be Chris. Now I just feel out of place. I feel like a living fraud. I can’t even recognise my own million dollar smile in pictures anymore.” he brushes a hand over his cheek,“I didn’t think I would actually feel unsure with my guts after so many years.”

You never thought you’d see the day where Chris was venting so deeply,“Well, it’s fine to feel disoriented with your identity at times, Chris. It’s a completely normal thing that many transgender people go through, even those who find themselves very early on.”

“Yeah, but I don’t want to experience it at all.” he groaned in a snappy manner,”I’ve tried shutting it out, ignoring it, moving on with my life, but it keeps surfacing. I’m sick of it.”

That’s one mistake,“You said you were starting to believe in signs more, right?”

“Yeah, what about it?”

“So don’t you think this is a sign that you can’t keep trying to dismiss how you feel and address it?” you propose, hope flowering in your irises.

“But I’m a guy. I’m not supposed to be all emotional and stuff anymore.” he mumbles, almost like it was just intended for himself to hear.

Though, you heard it and you’re thankful you picked it up. With that mumbled, you feel you’ve uncovered more depth to what this was about,“Okay well, what you just described is toxic masculinity, and that never solves anything for anyone. Look.”

You have trouble deciding if you should grab his hand,“I’m not going to try and say I know exactly what you’re feeling, but I can empathise from the perspective of somebody who’s known you for a very long time that you are definitely not impersonating manhood.” you decide against it, but you made sure his head was facing you,“You’re the happiest as a guy, and you’re not any less of one even if you express yourself, even if you were born female. I know being in the public eye, you have a certain expectation of smiles to convey, but just because you conceal it from the public, doesn’t mean you have to conceal it from yourself. At the end of the day, this scary feeling will only be gone if you confront it. Not me, not your agent or your fans. I can’t tell you how to confront it, but I can tell you, it’s fine to take your time in resolving it. Gender dysphoria is draining and you have a right to feel distressed.”

He doesn’t look very convinced, just a slight head nod to confirm he’s listening. Seems like he’s not sure how to take your words. To be fair, you’ve said a lot and he already denied therapy, so you decide to speak again with more simple words, smiling,“You’ve made a lot of progress. It takes a lot of courage to make the transition you’ve done. Isn’t that proof of a remarkable journey that can withhold your current uncertainty?”

Is the SO the pseudo-Yoongi???

Lol the SO is not the pseudo-Yoongi that I was posting about from a couple of years back, but I met him around the same time, and he is arguably even more Yoongi-esque!

Please forgive me, as I will take any and every opportunity to gush about this wonderful human:

He's an old soul, super gentle and very bashful.

He says he's not an audiophile, but that's just because he's humble. He knows a lot about music, recently got me new speakers, and even used to DJ!

His love language is acts of service. Especially cooking.

He's an amazing listener, and he gives me such helpful perspectives on things.

His baseline is stoic and professional unless he's getting really into a song, amped up by a video game, or playing with his/our sweet old man dog!

When we first started dating, we were in the checkout line at the grocery store, and I saw a magazine with BTS on the cover. By this point, he already knew about our beautiful fanfic bubble and my experiences writing and posting, but he didn't really know much about BTS. So I motioned to the magazine cover and asked, "Which do you think is Yoongi?" And he immediately, effortlessly, wordlessly pointed Yoongi out. I asked him how he knew, and he said, "Well, I looked at them all and just kinda picked the person I thought was most similar to me?" 🤣

Our strong compatibility makes life very easy. We've been together for nearly 2 years now. We have lived together for a year and 4 months, and we love each other very much. We're very happy. I'm very, very happy 🥹

In some ways, I feel like writing my stories manifested him? Whatever fantasies I have are more quickly brought to reality because he brings them to life. I'm also learning so many new things. I get wisps of inspiration to share more of what I'm experiencing now, in this chapter of my life. But I suspect that before I write a big project again, I need to live more of it.

The works I wrote from 2020-2022 were all these stories that had been piling up in me up until that point, like my experiences in academia, or my switch to industry, or how my experiences as a woman and as an immigrant intersect with those other life themes. So you could say that I'm almost doing another round of life research, making observations and processing new and even bigger emotions.

One really cool thing that he always does is check in with me to make sure I have creative time set aside. And he'll even build story prompts with me the way I used to. I have notes on my phone of one-liners and banter he's shared with me that I think would be particularly nice to sprinkle into a work, haha.

He cheers me on, too. Something funny or interesting will happen, and then he'll say something like, "That's a good one. You could even get pretty smutty with it. You should write it!"

Anyway lol. Thanks for indulging me and my late-night thoughts about my SO, lol. I feel very lucky. I am following where this is leading me. And I can't wait to share more of what I'm experiencing through writing again!

I heard "Nobody is gonna pimp me out! I ain't scared of nothing." Megan is going to open doors for female rappers to speak up about the mistreatment they have faced in the industry. Allowing for people to do what has never been done before. People are already exposing celebrities like Nicki Minaj for example for her malicious behavior. What's standing out to me is the "Queen" and "Goddess" card. There are female spirits watching over her. I believe this could be her ancestral family watching over her and guiding her through this journey. I also believe this could be a goddess Megan worships perhaps or is taking inspiration from. We might see a music video with this concept in particular. Alchemist? I believe she is manifesting something or doing spellwork. Megan is knowledgeable about spirituality and the occult more than we even know. This is not to imply that this is her religion but I remember when Judi from Bad Girls Club would say "I got the voodoo for you bitch!". So I believe how that pertains to Megan is that she knows she is divinely protected and regardless what people do/say to her she knows her faith, spirit guides, and ancestors will protect her from harm.

What's going to happen in Megan's career:

Megan is going to be coming to terms with her past trauma and releasing any feelings of grief, shame, and misfortune. Megan could of had thoughts where she felt her loved ones passing was her fault and that she should have done more for them. I'm hearing like "No this wasn't your fault, you did your best". So perhaps she went to therapy, she consoled herself, or had a love one to be by her side during this trouble. Whatever the case may be, the conversations provided her with great clarity. I also believe she went through a period of isolation and reflection to think about what she should do next. (Channeled song: Should I Stay or Should I Go by The Clash) Megan could have contemplated if she should leave the entertainment industry entirely or continue to live her dreams. "Is this really worth my peace of mind?" I am hearing a older woman's voice and she is saying "Girrrl, I know I taught you to keep your head up and not let anyone take your place. If they keep picking on you, you have to be strong and fight back." I feel like this is the words her grandmother would tell her growing up. Her grandmother is persistent on her to keep fighting for her dreams and not to let anyone treat her like a punk. "Y'all better stop messing with my grandbaby". I believe Megan is having this mindset of "If you do good unto others, good things will happen to you". So she is focusing on loving herself and being helpful, kind towards other people. Maybe even helping musicians who are not as famous in the industry and giving them a platform. She is wishing to spread joy and her positive energy. This year Megan will be very abundant in her career and I can see a lot of her desires coming into fruition. There is many accomplishments she will be rewarded for and goals that would be achieved.

Decided to nail down some backstory concepts for Proto Vox's boss. Tagging @storm-ismyusername and @voxaholic since you two helped me come up with some of this back in October.

Fell in love with a charming older man when she was young (18 or 19). Married him and moved away from the community she’d lived in all her life to join him in his small hometown. Husband ran an apothecary/pharmacy, so she began helping him run it.

Once they were married, her husband turned abusive, hitting her, forcing her to have sex when she didn’t want to, and verbally belittling her. They had four children (3 sons and 1 youngest daughter), who he would occasionally turn his ire on too.

Things remained the same for a little over ten years. Eventually, she reached her breaking point. Desperate and scared, she used her knowledge from years of working in the apothecary to slowly poison her husband. To everyone else, it looked as though he’d just gotten sick, and no one bothered to look any deeper into things when he died.

Her eldest son was too young to inherit the business, so she began managing it herself. She started forming close relationships with the other women in her community, learning about their struggles with their own husbands. Once she realized she was in the clear regarding her husband’s murder, she eventually convinced herself that doing the same to other people’s abusive spouses would be doing them a favor. When one of those men became sick, and their wives came to her, she would lace their medication with poison, slowly killing them. This happened at least twice.

As he aged, her eldest son tried to take on more responsibilities in/control over the apothecary. She refused to let him, insisting that she would take care of it and he should just relax and enjoy his childhood. He began to resent her and slowly became more like his father as he aged. Eventually, as he reached adulthood and their conflict became worse, she convinced herself that she had to kill him too; she’d be doing the world a favor by taking out someone so similar to her dead husband. She successfully poisoned him to death, but given his young age and the way death seemed to follow her, people finally became suspicious.

She was investigated by local law enforcement and was eventually arrested. She either killed herself in prison rather than face execution or died at the gallows. Died believing that everything she’d done had been justified and was outraged when she woke up in Hell.

Manifested as an orchid mantis demon due to the way she used poisonous plants to kill her husband and other men. Sinner name options are “Azalea,” “Belladonna,” and “Lantana.” Eventually became the Overlord of the pharmaceutical industry after Alastor’s first purge in the 1930s.

Was approached by a recently deceased Vox in 1957. He was desperate to get off the streets since he was such an easy target for other sinners. She thought he was adorable and struck a deal with him: she would provide him with a safe place to live in exchange for his services as an entertainer. Vox, too desperate and green to fully think it through (other than refusing to give her his soul), agreed.

Soon, she began to get a sense of what kind of man Vox was beneath his precious exterior— arrogant, self-centered, and entirely too much like the men she had once killed. Despite Vox refusing to tell her much, if anything, about his human life, she started filling in the gaps mentally, making assumptions that weren’t entirely accurate (Vox was verbally/emotionally abusive towards his wife but never beat her or their children). However, instead of killing him, she began deliberately humiliating him and trying to break his spirit/pride. She thought it was cathartic, taking this man with an over-inflated sense of his own importance and treating him like a silly little boy at best, a mindless pet or doll at worst. He deserved to feel like he was nothing. Obviously.

Taylor Swift: Year ahead spread. What awaits for Taylor in the next year for her life, relationships, and career.

General wellbeing: the moon, justice, knight of cups - Taylor is a little anxious heading in for the next year. Wrapping up the tour has given her some time to think things over and she’s planning for her next move but at the same time she wonders how long will all this last. There is some good news though, I sense that some karmic justice will be served soon towards someone who did her wrong; now this list for those who it could be is extremely long but I think this is also something Taylor is worried about because if this person still walks the streets without consequences she feels they have a hold on her life; but that will end in the next year. What they did to her will come back in three fold as the saying goes. With the knight of cups I get the sense Taylor will work on another album; she’s not feeling the emotion she did for TTPD so don’t expect songs to scream about an ex, instead i think these will be songs about her love for fans and the warmth she received from the tour as well as her current relationship. She’s never one to stop using her talents and I think something is coming just for the fans and it’s extra special.

Oracle card: one last move - initially the term on this card made my blood run cold, but the terms underneath gave me a sigh of relief. Taylor has come far in her journey of the music industry and she has no plans of stopping; she’s going to keep seeing that impact but something extremely special will manifest in 2025 to showcase what an impact she’s had and it will make her see she cannot be forgotten so easily.

Love life: 5 of wands reversed, the devil, 4 of cups reversed - there are going to start to be cracks in the relationship it seems, Sadly. This will start out as just typical issues between couples that we all have experienced or heard about; things like forgetting a text back for something, not doing your part in the daily chores, or not being there when you’re needed. It’ll be minor and forgiven very quickly; but soon more things will come to the surface, trust will be questioned and jealousy will take over between two people before one takes pause to think “Do I really want to be in this relationship anymore?”

What advice can we give to Taylor for this: judgment reversed, 9 of cups, page of pentacles - as mentioned above, there are some issues that will come forward, and as the judgment card is reversed it’s asking Taylor to pause and ask if she wants this relationship with Travis or what does she want. Taylor has a dream life in her mind and I believe she has been manifesting for her dream partner for years and years; each guy is not fitting the mold and either she ends it or waits until it’s too late. I feel like Taylor does have that “I can fix them” mentality and hopes that in time the guy changes for her. So far most of these men haven’t fulfilled that expectation and I think she’s hoping Travis may be it, he seems to tick off all the important boxes for her and he’s giving her all she’s wanted. Taylor may be feeling some doubts about him being for her as it seems too good to be true, and after so many years wasted on guys who never even tried, here is someone who is. Some things may not add up to that perfect match she always wanted but I think Travis is the closest she’s gotten so far to a perfect partner for her and she doesn’t have to change him to earn love.

Oracle card: yes, and date - the yes card says luck is on her side and the date card represents getting back into the world of dating or even setting a date? 👀

To me I see this as Taylor and Travis could maybe get more serious, engaged, moving in or something like that. I think when Taylor sees Travis is serious and believe me he is, it will take her off guard and give her that sense of realization of what the universe always had ready for her.

Career: 6 of cups, the world reversed, 2 of cups reversed - the year will start out great for Taylor as far as her creative abilities and new ideas for an album; but it seems not all will be as she hoped for concerning this and there may be a ending of a collaboration between her and another artist or someone on her team. This seems to be the result of the ideas being stalled and this person isn’t able to work with the new change. This will be a very devastating event to Taylor and she will be heartbroken as I feel this may have been a very important person to the work or in her life. They may not see eye to eye on the new album ideas.

Where can Taylor go from this: knight of pentacles, 5 of pentacles reversed, the chariot - as a famous fish once said “just keep swimming” Taylor has a lot of faith in this new album and what she wants for it. While this loss of a collaboration will be devastating and painful she will continue to do as she planned to do regardless of this setback. She’s not ready to let anyone or anyone stop her from doing what she loves and the album will be just as great as she hopes it to be.

Oracle card: planning phase - it’s time for a long term plan by Taylor. This could be because once the re-recordings have finished she needs to know where to go as far as her new work; what style should her next album be, when to drop it, how? For a while she will be getting ready to set up the Easter eggs for fans and strategically set the stage for her new work to emerge.

When will the re-recording of Reputation be announced: the time is now, February - I asked my yes/no deck for clarification and it responded with yes for February.

When will debut be announced: next couple of weeks - Again asked if debut will be out before reputation, no.

So I’m wagering a guess Taylor could announce the next re-recording tomorrow but that will be reputation which will be released in February. In a couple more weeks we will get hints of debut and its timeframe of a release.

Friendship: knight of swords, king of swords reversed, queen of cups - for the most part this year Taylor’s friends will be by her side through the thick and thin no matter what. But there is someone who may walk away from their friendship or make Taylor feel dejected after years of trust; in those days when it’s realized that this person is not who they said they were I think Taylor will go to the one true person who has her back; Andrea. Taylor’s mom is always there as her best friend and to give her some solid advice when things get difficult. She will be Taylor’s shoulder to cry on when this friend leaves her.

Oracle cards: not enough, patience - there will be a lot of ego and self sabotage between the friends this year. Primarily one person will feel like Taylor is the one who gets attention and it makes them feel bad; this also mirrors in Taylor who feels like a horrible person who would cause her friends to feel inferior. But this friendship may not have been the best for both parties and in time they will see that maybe they work better as colleagues or acquaintances. They may also only part for a few months before seeing how much they needed each other in their lives.

What advice do my cards have for Taylor for 2025: 6 of pentacles, page of cups, ace of wands reversed - for Taylor she needs to remember to stay kind and do all that she can to help others in various ways. She will be entering a new phase with her music and style but there will be some struggles including some creative blockages because this new path will be vastly different from previous ones she’s done. She needs to continue to work hard, show kindness and not give up in 2025.

I’m fairly new to the Larry fandom. I tell people that Liam sent me here along with countless others. Until his passing, I knew very little about 1D. I didn’t even know who Liam was. I was scrolling the internet during a phone conference and stumbled about photos of the boys at his funeral. The next thing I knew, I was spending all of my free time researching Larry and closeting and corruption in the music industry. I have met several other people who have a similar story of how they landed here. I’m so sorry that Liam isn’t around anymore but I’m hopeful that his passing is helping to shine a spotlight on the evils of the music and entertainment industry so changes can be made.

Welcome to our fandom! Wow, you're that brand spanking new as a fan! I know that Liam's passing changed something, because i got an influx of new followers. I guess i just stuggle to understand what would attract someone to fandom, not just larry, due to no new content and loads of fandom infighting. It's not neccessarily a pleasant place to be anymore.

We all keep hoping things will change for the better, but hope is all we have. Let's hope this is the year for change, where we see them fight back and start winning their battles. Let's hope they start to heal their pain and trauma, and overcome it. Let's hope they get the happiness they deserve. Let's hope Liam gets justice. Let's hope the evil industry guys get the karma they deserve. Let's manifest it.

oh PLEASE elaborate on your thoughts about why people say Brenann's hogging the spotlight after you're back from work 👀

This is actually a very long answer, because morning me is someone with the bright sun shining behind her and a full cup or four of coffee who does not think of the consequences of her actions, so it's below a cut.

I think the first reason is something best described as cultural but in a very specific way. Like...the bulk of actual players we talk about are people who have, just by default, spent a lot of time in a handful of cities in the US where there's a significant entertainment industry presence, and for D20 they've specifically been comedians. I say this to set a particular scene: I almost never get it when people think the cast of an actual play show is angry at each other, or that people are being too pushy or that the humor is off. I suspect this might be cultural; I am from the urban Northeastern US and my mom grew up in Los Angeles and I have three siblings, and so a lot of what people clock as aggression or unkindness reads to me as simply banter or straightforwardness or decisiveness, all of which I see as very positive things. I mean obviously there is a such thing as inappropriate humor, bigotry and jokes at the expense of other groups and so forth, but most of what I see in actual play I watch/listen to is just, as NADDPod puts it, taking your friends to the raspberry patch. It's good-humored teasing. Anyway I think Brennan is very willing to engage with that banter and that decisiveness (and like, he spent a lot of formative time in New York City which I'm sure is an influence) and I think that reads to people who are uncomfortable with it as aggression.

Someone who took more linguistic anthropology or sociology than I could probably explain this better but it's just like...as a person I find the rapid-fire and heated but good natured heckling on D20, or Sam's satirical ad reads, or bold moves in any D&D game, or the arguments on NADDPod D&D court to be very normal and enjoyable, and I find hesitation and hedging and uncertainty and "are you sure?" and endless check-ins to be very negative and anxiety-inducing and draining.

With that said I don't think Brennan is particularly egregious (Evan Kelmp is the one case where I think this is a valid criticism, but even then I didn't find him an ungenerous player, merely one who by design was going to occupy a certain position) so I think that brings me to the really delicate part of this conversation.

I've mentioned this in the past but I think a lot of the actual play fandom on Tumblr suffers pretty severely from what's been labeled "the soft bigotry of low expectations." I've been vocal quite specifically when it comes to misogyny and how the agency of the women of the cast is treated as true only when convenient, because I feel that as a woman I'm able to actually speak on those terms, but I think it's true across the board. Essentially, this means that the bar is (often unconsciously) set lower, or people overly applaud, to a perhaps even condescending degree, people from minority or underrepresented groups. It is not, to be clear, having DEI programs or helping people be in something (in this case...popular actual play) in the first place and acknowledging structural inequalities that might make the path more difficult; it's instead assuming that once they get there they'll never be quite as good, or being surprised when they are. I think the most classic example is the overuse of the word "eloquent" to describe Black speakers, as it often comes with this connotation that being well-spoken is something the person providing the compliment didn't expect. You know, if you're an adult with no significant cognitive or physical disabilities and someone compliments you for tying your shoes, it's pretty fucking insulting. That's what we're talking about here.

The way this manifests in the fandom is that there's really no room to provide criticisms that are not motivated by bigotry. I'm a critic by nature, and there's a general veneer of obnoxious insistence on positivity across the board in this and many fandoms, but, as I've said many times before (and to be fair it's getting better) the pushback people receive for completely valid criticisms of Marisha is intense. I've mentioned that I've had issues with story pacing for Brennan, Matt, and Aabria as DMs at different points, and the backlash for Aabria was the strongest even though the criticism was by no means the harshest. There is a certain degree of nonstop fawning that at times occurs that doesn't actually permit engaging with characters or discussing the actual strengths of the actors, and which often wraps around into something insulting; see the "Emily, breaker of DMs" nonsense that's finally getting called out. Because it's not a compliment! Part of why Emily is such a good player is that she is immensely collaborative and makes characters who will help with party composition, and she self-identifies as a big fan of DMs, and treating her (or like, anyone) as a perfect force of nature rather than a thinking person who makes decisions, some of which are good and some of which are bad, is not praise! It's not praise to exclude someone from valid criticism; it's treating them as lesser, to do so.

For a number of reasons I am a person who is not generally stopped by this, but a lot of people understandably aren't, or are deterred even by that more general need for nothing but praise...except constant praise starts to become meaningless, and more importantly, people sometimes have negative feelings about a show! Maybe a character they liked died, or their predictions didn't come true, or their ship didn't happen, or they're just not very interested in a specific plot. But it's impossible to actually pick apart what isn't working for them, because there's this environment where, if you start asking questions, the answer might be "I don't like the choice a player who is a woman, or nonwhite, or queer, made, and how it weighs upon the story." And so, and this is where I am treading so lightly, I don't think the issue in the fandom or TTRPG is "oh the poor straight white men in D&D", because that's obviously fucking ridiculous, but I do think that if you block off any criticism of anyone else, it lands somewhere, and it's often not actually justified.

The example I actually have in mind more often is Sam Riegel. I've made some pretty harsh criticism of Sam and some of his characters in the past, but it has always been very much about his choices. But every single time I've gotten some weird (and uh...very uncomfortable, frankly) venting about Sam's sense of humor. I have never really focused on his sense of humor as the problem. I like it. I find it extremely relatable. At the risk of using the bigotry script again, Sam is, in fact, of the same ethnicity and region of the US as I am (ie, northeast US Ashkenazi Jewish) and when people act like his humor is discomfiting it's like a neon sign that to me reads "I HAVE NEVER MET SOMEONE FROM YOUR CULTURE," which on the one hand, not necessarily their fault, but on the other, does not feel great to have someone on anon venting to you while this sign is staring you in the face.

But that is a different point - my point is that I feel like there's this...seething magma of discontent sometimes, that has built up because there is an attitude that criticism is to be avoided at nearly all costs. And when it must be vented, there are only a small handful of acceptable targets (ie, the cis straight white men, although among the CR and D20 casts, Taliesin and Zac both get a decent amount of this despite Taliesin not being straight and Zac not being white), so the criticisms that come out are often excessive for the infraction (Brennan, a famously wordy guy playing a literal college of eloquence bard, turns into "Brennan is a spotlight hog" despite him being a player who is enthusiastically yes-anding everyone at the table), flat-out misdirected (my criticisms of Sam's mechanics are treated as an invitation to talk about a dislike of Sam's jokes) or just straight up bile (I am quite frankly never forgetting the somehow popular post that said Travis was too stupid to play a druid; it really was a breaking point where I said oh this positivity is all fake as hell, huh.) And eventually these criticisms become the "safe" and "accepted" ones in the fandom. Which is also bad because like, at this point, those three examples are to me just signals of someone saying "I'm not happy but it might not necessarily be at all related to this." And it is possible that someone might genuinely not enjoy Sam's sense of humor, or think Brennan is hogging the spotlight (though I disagree), but I struggle to believe them because these are just the well-worn codes, devoid of their actual meaning. I also think it's notable these all squarely blame people and not just like, "I don't vibe with this choice and no one is specifically at fault" but that's also a whole other post.

This is of course not to say that there isn't also actual bigotry within the fandom; looking at that person who freaked out about Utkarsh wearing a sweatshirt and not having an encyclopedic knowledge of the divine soul sorcerer class, or the person who called Deni$e unpleasant and abusive in the main tag, rather than simply saying their characters were not for them. Nor does it mean that you can't have criticisms of Brennan, or any of the many white guys in Actual Play, because my point is that thoughtful criticism based on what's onscreen is what I live for, and no one is exempt. But I think most if not all people saying this about Brennan are mad about something else in the Ravening War.

The first step concerns the breakdown of all archaeological knowledge. Such rays, from satellites, are fed from the memory of computers that store much data about the human being and his languages. These rays will then interlace and interweave with the natural thinking processes to form what is called Artificial Talk.

Step 4

The fourth step involves universal supernatural manifestations using electronic means. This step contains three different orientations:

The first one is to make mankind believe that an Alien Invasion is about to occur upon every major city on the earth. This is to push each major nation into using its nuclear capability to strike back. In this manner, it would put each of these nations in a state of full disarmament before the United Nations after the false attack.

The second is to make the vast Christian population believe that a major rapture is occurring, with a simple, orchestrated, divine intervention of an alleged "good" alien force coming to save the good people from a brutal satanic attack. Its goal is to get rid of all significant opposition to the New World Order.

The third orientation is a mixture of electronic and supernatural forces. The waves or frequencies used at that time will allow supernatural forces to travel through fiber optics cable, coaxial cable, electric and telephone lines in order to penetrate all electronic equipment and appliances that will by then all have a special microchip installed. The goal of this step deals with the materialization of satanic ghosts, spectres, and poltergeists all across the globe in order to push all populations to the edge of a wave of suicide, killing and permanent psychological disorder. After that night, humanity is believed to be ready for them to enter in a "New" Messiah to re-establish peace everywhere at any cost, even at the cost of their freedom.

Manifesting Ferre and Alex's bullet points power abilities, I'm compiling this little post with things about Hyun for this verse before polishing it and eventually adding it to their about (and bothering the SHIT out of Lynnie's characters, I MEAN-); I just need to put the brainstorm brain bubbles somewhere, YAOH-

Hyun is human for this verse, so all details of her main verse pertaining to her gumiho nature are understandably removed (hehehe, past lives though?).

She's physically perma-fem presenting, but she/they genderfluid (closeted, I mean, consider the industry, leans slightly more into 'she') Pansexual, but still very much single-ship with @theimpalpable 's Yeong Boram, that's just... the way it be, I love love. (Which, by the way, means her boyfriend is a CEO~ PLEASE read up on Boram, I love him so mUCH)

Hyun is a 30-year-old super-model of sorts in the South Korean modelling industry, she's made her debut some-time in her late teens and has climbed the ranks of relevance, desirability and brand-deals ever since. Even at an 'old age' such as hers, her youthful appearance (and expertise within the industry) still garners her love and admiration from especially the impressionable female audience following her on social media, and agencies who like working with someone who knows what they're doing.

A few years prior to the 'present', Hyun has publicly announced her interest in venturing deeper into the entertainment industry and stepping out slightly from the beauty industry: not a very welcomed move. Models transition into acting relatively often enough, and actors are almost always simultaneously models, brand deals, ads, sponsorships, not to mention you can only truly make it into both industries if you flex your pretty privilege. Which is why it's so much easier for the populi to forgive a bad actor for being bad if they're at least pretty. Not to delve into how race plays a part in determination of beauty standards, Hyun was set out to make the transition just as easily... so what happened?

If there's one thing people hate about women and fem presenting people... is that they're women and fem presenting people. A woman is adored... until she does something someone else considers 'stepping out of line' and BOOM, dead in a ditch. Hyun does like stepping out of line: prioritizing brands and agencies she actually likes, refusing to work with people she doesn't, caring more about the crew than whatever fashion designer shows their face around, openly expressing her general distaste for the fashion elite, honestly... a bitch. At least according to the people, once news of her 'ungrateful, unprofessional, diva behaviour' started flooding the internet.

A scandal ruined her chances of an easy transition from modelling into acting.

You might argue, WAHOO, feminism~ Hyun is a hero~ No. A lot of people get hurt all the time, a lot of women and fem presenting folks have fought and lost these battles. Hyun never even took political stances, pretended nothing bad ever happened to the world in her bubble of notoriety and fame. The world has never helped her, what does she care about helping the world. But now that bubble burst. And while Hyun doesn't crumble with the lack of it, it sure as fuck pissed her off.

Problem is... she's just a model. Most people in the regular world know her as mannequin of expensive things, she doesn't manage her accounts, she doesn't talk to people, she barely even shows up to places: her beauty is the primary reason for her success, not her PR-ing. So... how to move on from here?

The scandal: I have NO IDEA yet, but I do believe she intended moving into acting for very specific reasons, either to get back at someone or destroy something from within, Hyun may not act like it in any verse but they do actually absolutely hold grudges, one of the things most debilitating to their mental health at times; so whatever happened, was orchestrated specifically to ruin her reputation.

Someone did something they shouldn't have, something he shouldn't have, a man most likely, maybe some kind of harassment, maybe something along the lines of Pro.misi.ng Y.oung W.oma.n but kept hush hush, maybe it wasn't anything that serious but definitely a personal attack against Hyun and Hyun simply snapped, either way... she's hear to make a few pigs squeal in pain.

Hyun also doesn't partake in 'scenes' and 'public scandals'; if she's attending some big social event (against all odds) and you start shit with her, throw a drink at her, she'll laugh in your face (if she can be bothered) and bill you the damages. Head held high, continues sipping on her drink. There's a good chance she just goes get changed and comes back. She is very condescending to people who try to start drama. I'm saying shit like 'oh sweetie, I don't play with kindergarteners' or instantly cutting all ties if she sniffs that kind of behaviour. If befriending Hyun elevates your status, best believe she does not care and will get rid of you if you start shit, good luck keeping that status. This also works against her, if you play your cards right, making her look even more like a diva.

Her way of putting you in your place is not even deeming you worth the trouble.

Now, the question: is this attitude always possible in these industries? Nay~ There are always consequences, there'll always be people stronger than you, with better ties. That's the fun of the plot, though~

Okay, let's get to the analyses part of your ask,

RIGHT??? Oh gosh.. I think I'm confident about my thoughts, one moment I'm SO SURE, so I start writing and drawing comics, and then, I become shy and unsure and- gaH I hope my thoughts do get validated. I keep finding more and more things that I feel could back it up. It just.. feels like a better story for me that way as well! Come on, Ai really liked this guy and he did too and they only realized it after like 15 years after her death, what's the point of making him her murderer, what good does it bring to the narrative? 'Don't trust people'? 'find better people to love'? 'people with childhood trauma can't find someone good to love'? No, I want this to be about genuine love in the end. The backstories these characters had were so harsh on them already and it made them suffer, it shouldn't end that way, since the work is fiction, it's possible because this is a "story", not some documentary that displays the cruelty of life.

I usually get really strong hunches regarding the emotional aspects of a narrative when I get invested in something, and...they are rarely proven wrong. I think I've understood what it is.. What these characters have should have been portrayed differently if what's been shown should have been just taken at face-value.

I'm a little confused about the part about the eagle and the hen, but I understand what you mean for everything else you're talking about and yes.. ;v;) I don't have so much to add on because that's how I feel as well on most part! Oh REALLY? there's seldom any interpretations that try interpreting him in a more compassionate light, huh? I can see that happening because the first time we see him, he is in front of a dead body going it's his fault. And we had Aqua being so sure his dad would be the culprit from the very beginning. That's set a pretty firm image of what kind of character he'd be to the fandom (and it may end up being true?;; maybe?) but I find so many things that could contradict it. It makes more sense for me if it does, and it's not like I favored him and decided I wanted him to be good no matter what, I just watched by and found things. And I keep finding things.

I did get inquiries about the subject on Taiki once and I refrained from answering because it's just painful to think about. It's not Taiki's fault, but he is a child born out of rape and, I don't feel Hikaru should hold any responsibility or have the obligation to form a certain bond with him. Enforcing that to him would be so cruel. It's not something I want to dive too deep into thinking about, because think about it, would you want to meet your "child" that you had no control over upon having? Do you have to do it? It depends on the person but.. it's really up to them. He was terribly young when that happened as well. That's why I never discuss that aspect, it just hurts trying to bring it up. Taiki's a source of trauma for the guy, despite him having grown really well. Perhaps Hikaru's kind enough to do that, I actually don't see him being that aggressive towards anyone at all including him, but, you see how despaired he was in 153. His reaction towards it was also something along the lines of "Do I have to(carry the burden)?" I feel the same way about that. He does not. They do not have to have any interactions with each other.

I'm really sorry, but I don't want to think about this subject at all. It can happen, or it may not, but it's distressing to just think about, for me. I don't think that's something that can be brought up that lightly. Of course, on that regard, Ai's death is too (this manga is so dark;) but that's an area where everything starts stemming out from and I don't even think her boyfriend's responsible for it.

Sorry to end this ask on a depressing note; that part of the story is just horrifying for me though. When I make fanworks, I try to match my feelings to how the characters may feel in order to make accurate portrayals... some of the characters in this manga, I purposely block out from diving too deep into their mentality because it gets really, really painful. Ai and Hikaru's like that (Aqua too, and Ruby also, but I don't draw Ruby so often ;v;).. I want to know how they feel, at the same time, I feel that there's a border that'd make me get really depressed if I cross it, so I back out from it sometimes. What they experienced is so real, even though it's not shown so much on-screen and is only implied in as few panels. You may want to ask the other fans of the fandom about that topic, they may give a pretty insightful answer, but I really can't try on this one because it makes me sad. It's really bad. Terrifying. It actually led me to think about the severity of the subject. I don't think the manga handled it too bad the way it did so far, because things like that can happen in real life and discussing the subject itself is not really a problem on its own. The important thing is HOW it gets handled. If the manga MAKES them have to interact, then that's when I'd actually find some problems with it.

What do I have left to be delusional about?

Back in late June, shortly after the Spectrum Club 7 found out we were going to make our Broadway debuts but we weren't allowed to tell anyone yet, we were processing all our feelings about it in our group chat.

All of us have faced some struggles to fit in, struggles to find and use our authentic voices in a world that wasn't designed for us. We had a lot of conversations about "imposter syndrome" and how it manifests in very specific ways in neurodivergent people--particularly women/AFABs.

"If I'm going to be on Broadway," one of us said, "what do I have left to be delusional about?"

That's something that's stuck in my head for the last few months, as I've hit career milestones that I never would have believed were possible for me as an openly autistic person. I originated a principal role on Broadway. I did an Instagram takeover for Playbill the day our show was announced. I performed at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry know who I am. People are flying in from all over the country to hand-deliver fan art to me. All while we're still in PREVIEWS.

And sometimes I feel like an asshole for saying all of this, because it sounds like I'm making it up for clout, or like it's some kind of self-insert fanfic, but it's MY ACTUAL LIFE.

But other times, I can process this as reality. And those times, I allow myself the freedom to dream even bigger. If this happened, what else can happen? What other pie-in-the-sky dreams might I put out into the universe? What, indeed, do I have left to be delusional about?

Here are a few of the things I've come up with:

Host my own Christmas special, in the style of Bing Crosby and Judy Garland. I want to sing with a huge orchestra and choir and have a giant Christmas tree on stage with me. It will be called "Ashley Wool's Chosen Family Christmas" and it would feature all of my friends who wanted to participate.

Play Kira in a Broadway revival of Xanadu. I can't go more than a week without mentioning this somewhere. Kira is to me what Fanny Brice is to Lea Michele, and she made that happen, so why not me?

Also, play more Golden Age roles. I'm happy to screlt my face eight times a week, but the only place I get to use my soprano register is in church choir. I want a shot at Sarah Brown, Julie Jordan, Amalia Balash, any of 'em.

Collaborate with Missy Elliott on HTDIO remixes. Or...literally anything. (Maybe Ludacris can put in a good word for me?)

Release a full-length album of my original songs. This is probably the most technically realistic goal. For those who don't know, I already have three original singles out there. I think they're pretty good, even though they are suffering from a lack of Missy Elliott.

Buy a house. Just one. Nothing fancy. But an entire house. With a full kitchen and a dining room where I could host Thanksgiving sometimes and a yard big enough for a catio and a water feature. You know, like people used to be able to do with a high school diploma and a minimum-wage job. Well, maybe not with the water feature, but still. A house. A house would be nice.

Contribute in some major way to affordable (and ACCESSIBLE and environmentally SUSTAINABLE) housing in New York City. And other places. But especially New York. Because people are always like "iF yOu CaN't aFfOrD iT tHeN mOvE" and like...no. I love this city, millions of people love this city, and people should be able to live reasonably well in any city they want without being kajillionaires. People should be able to afford to live in the city where they work ANY JOB. I don't know why this is radical. It seems pretty basic to me. Bla bla bla bleeding heart leftist bla.

Anyway. That's my "self-insert fanfiction" list for the end of 2023.

Maybe next year it'll be even more ridiculous.
